AEW Dynamite live results: Young Bucks & Good Brothers team up

The Young Bucks and The Good Brothers team up on tonight’s AEW Dynamite.

Dissension has been teased between The Bucks and the Kenny Omega-Don Callis-Good Brothers faction. On last week’s Dynamite, Callis attempted to pay Matt and Nick Jackson off to leave Kenny Omega alone. The Bucks apparently retaliated by nailing Callis with superkicks. Tonight, Matt, Nick, Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson will face Evil Uno, Stu Grayson, John Silver and Alex Reynolds of The Dark Order.

The build to next week’s Beach Break edition of Dynamite will continue tonight. Jon Moxley will discuss his trios match at that event, where he will team with PAC and Rey Fenix against Omega, Gallows and Anderson.

Sting and Darby Allin will appear tonight to address their upcoming street fight with Team Taz at AEW Revolution on March 7.

Dax Harwood will face Jungle Boy this evening. Cash Wheeler and Tully Blanchard will be handcuffed to Luchasaurus at ringside.

Lance Archer vs. Eddie Kingston, Hangman Page vs. Ryan Nemeth, Britt Baker vs. Shanna, plus Chris Jericho and MJF vs. Griff Garrison and Brian Pillman Jr. are also set for tonight’s show.

Our live coverage begins at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

*********

Eddie Kingston defeated Lance Archer

Neither man had any associates out with them.

They traded stiff strikes early on until Archer downed Kingston with a pounce. Archer continued to chop Kingston until he chokeslammed Kingston onto the corner of the ring to the floor in a ridiculous spot. “That had to have broken his back” were the words of Tony Schiavone.

Archer kept up the offense on the floor before flattening Kingston with a uranage in the ring. Kingston dropkicked Archer down and landed a running forearm for two, but Archer popped back up with a ripcord lariat. He went for Blackout, but Kingston fought out, so Archer hit another chokeslam and his rope-walk moonsault.

The EBD Claw followed, but Butcher and Blade appeared on the ramp with an incapacitated Jake Roberts, and Bunny slipped Kingston a knuckle duster. Kingston landed the weapon-assisted spinning backfist for the pin.

After the match, Butcher and Blade hit their tag team finisher on Archer and Kingston hit a second spinning back fist.

A Jon Moxley video aired where he tried to decipher the Elite storyline. He’s a simple guy who trusts in his right hand and left hand. The story doesn’t matter because he loves a good six-man tag match (he teams with the PAC & Rey Fénix against Kenny Omega and the Good Brothers next week). It’s gonna be wild, so “don’t blink.”

**********

Sting and Darby Allin addressed their upcoming street fight against Team Taz. Sting started, saying that he was hurt by being called a “hoodlum,” but Allin is a hoodlum. Allin said it doesn’t matter how dirty you play in the streets, because it’s all about survival. Allin threw his skateboard through a window behind them, and Sting broke some windows with his bat. Sting ended up deciding that he is, in fact, a hoodlum, and it will be “showtime” at Revolution.

Chris Jericho & MJF (w/ Inner Circle) vs. Varsity Blonds (Griff Garrison & Brian Pillman Jr.)

This was a nice match, especially for the Blonds. Garrison has a great hot tag.

Before the match, MJF said that he needed to talk to Sammy Guevara after the match. He then addressed Garrison, and asked him to skip the formalities and say “I quit.” Garrison struck him and laid in strikes, but MJF escaped and grabbed a chair. The announcers pointed out that Guevara was applauding when Garrison attacked MJF.

Jericho tagged in but was met with a flurry of offense from the Blonds. He tried to fire back with strikes, but Pillman clotheslined him down until MJF took control with an illegal kick from the apron, leading into a commercial break.

During the break, Pillman made a comeback with a diving crossbody, leading to a really nice Garrison hot tag. Garrison ran wild with clotheslines and foiled multiple attempts to cut him off. He finished it off with a double spear on MJF for two.

Pillman tagged in and landed a missile dropkick before downing Jericho with a thrust kick for two. He sent Jericho to the floor with a dropkick, but was met with a Judas Effect and a Lionsault to finish it back in the ring. The Lionsault was intentionally superfluous after not hitting it perfectly last week, and it was a great little touch to end the contest.

MJF and Guevara exchanged words after the match.

**********

PAC talked about Kenny Omega. He called him a manipulator and a cheater and told Omega to bring his Good Brothers, because he and Fénix will show them the true meaning of brotherhood. Next week, Omega faces the consequences of his actions.

The video of Shaquille O’Neal challenging Cody Rhodes played. He called Cody a “punk” and told him to name the time and place before landing on March as the time.

Cody and Arn Anderson came out to be interviewed by Tony Schiavone. Schiavone asked Cody to respond to Shaq and Jade Cargill. Instead, Cody said he’d like to just promote it for March 7. However, he can’t do that, because he and Brandi are having a baby. Cody decided to defer the decision to his coach, Arn.

Arn said that the fact of the matter is that Cody’s about to be a dad. It’s the most important thing in his life. He asked if June 29, 1985 meant anything to Cody. That’s where Arn watched Dusty fight Tully Blanchard, hop on a flight, and see the birth of his baby boy, Cody. Cody got tears in his eyes.

Arn said that if Cody decides to fight in March, he should do it with no regrets. He went over Shaq and Cargill’s pedigrees, but Arn’s seen something from the last two weeks that can’t be measured like those two.

Red Velvet made her entrance and joined everyone in the ring. Arn said that both she and Cody have fire. Velvet took the mic and said that she’s fed up and tired of getting attacked and watching Brandi get disrespected. Cody would never lay a hand on Cargill, but she would, because she’s Red Velvet, and she’s about to “stir her bitch-ass up.”

Schiavone concluded the segment by saying that the ball is in Shaq and Cargill’s court. It looks like Cody & Red Velvet vs. Shaq & Jade Cargill is the match.

A video played hyping the upcoming wedding between Kip Sabian and Penelope Ford.

Hangman Page defeated Ryan Nemeth

Nemeth is the younger brother of WWE wrestler Dolph Ziggler, and this was his AEW debut.

The two performed chain wrestling until Page downed Nemeth with a boot. Page kept up the offense with more strikes, pounding on Nemeth in the corner. He sent Nemeth to the floor with his springboard clothesline and followed it up with a plancha.Back in the ring, Page missed a corner clothesline and Nemeth downed him with a dropkick.

Matt Hardy made his way down to the ring, appearing to scout the wrestlers in the match.

Nemeth maintained control with a neckbreaker, but he only got a one count. Page fired out of the corner with a lariat and downed Nemeth with a spinebuster. The sliding lariat followed for two. Nemeth countered a backdrop with a DDT for a quick two. Page countered out of a suplex and landed a discus forearm, and the Buckshot Lariat for three.

– Tony Schiavone came down to the ring after the match to talk to Page and Hardy. Hardy said that he came out to be in Page’s corner and support him. He said that Page seems lost and knows how much love Page had for Omega and the Bucks.

Hardy said he doesn’t want anything from Page, and wants to let him know that he’s a good person who deserves to be happy. Hardy offered Page a spot to dress in his dressing room, and Schiavone said that he should take him up on it.

Jungle Boy defeated Dax Harwood

This was a very good back-and-forth TV match. Aside from main events, there are few Dynamite matches that go this long – it was about fifteen minutes.

Luchasaurus was handcuffed to Cash Wheeler and Tully Blanchard so nobody could interfere in the match. Before the match, a video played where Harwood and Jungle Boy discussed what that means for the match.

Harwood powered Jungle Boy into the corner, where they exchanged words. Jungle Boy achieved a takedown with an armdrag, so they were even and locked up again. Harwood downed Jungle Boy with a shoulder tackle, but Jungle Boy won the following sequence with a dropkick. He looked for a submission, but Harwood reached the ropes.

Luchasaurus and Harwood jawed, but Jungle Boy brought his opponent back into the ring. Harwood took control with a boot to the midsection before laying in chops in the corner. Jungle Boy fired back with chops of his own, but Harwood was too powerful, kneeing Jungle Boy in the bread basket.

Jungle Boy used evasive maneuvers to send Harwood shoulder-first into the post, allowing him to target Harwood’s left arm. Harwood downed him with an uppercut, but Jungle Boy hit a back suplex and sent Harwood to the floor. He went for a baseball slide, but Harwood sent him into the barricade, leading to a commercial.

Harwood continued during the entire break until a jawbreaker allowed Jungle Boy to start his comeback. A series of elbow strikes sent Harwood to the mat. Jungle Boy went to the top rope, but took too long, and Harwood flattened him with a Saito superplex.

Jungle Boy fired up and slapped Harwood, leading to a great strike exchange. Jungle Boy escaped out of multiple powerbombs and landed a thrust kick, but Harwood cut him off with a lariat. Harwood went for a powerbomb, but Jungle Boy hit a hurricanrana out of it for two. Harwood hit a slingshot Liger Bomb for a close two.

Harwood set up for a dragon suplex, but Jungle Boy fought out by attacking the injured arm. Jungle Boy landed a series of German suplexes but was cut off with a back elbow. Jungle Boy returned fire with a clothesline, but Harwood hit a misdirection DDT for another two.

Jungle Boy landed a diving crossbody, but Harwood rolled through and they exchanged a ton of cradles. Harwood landed a knee to the midsection and rolled Jungle Boy up for a great near fall, but Jungle Boy kicked out and applied the Snare Trap submission, which is like a deathlock crossface. Jungle Boy adjusted the hold, and Harwood tapped.

After the match, Tully threw powder in Luchasaurus’s face and Wheeler beat down Jungle Boy. Harwood hit a slingshot suplex on FTR and Tully hit the diving spike piledriver on Luchasaurus as FTR held him. FTR then handcuffed Luchasaurus to the ropes as Harwood cut the horns off Luchasaurus’s mask. It looked like they were about to cut off Jungle Boy’s hair, but Marko Stunt (with a chair) and SCU ran out to make the save.

**********

Team Taz responded to Sting and Darby Allin’s promo from earlier tonight. Taz began to speak, but they noticed a merch stand that was selling Sting gear, and everyone (including HOOK) attacked the workers and broked down the stand. Cage sent one of the guys head-first into a truck with a lawn dart throw, and Starks put another one through the table. Taz said that Starks and Cage would beat Sting and Allin’s ass in the street fight.

**********

Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. (w/ Rebel) defeated Shanna

They performed chain wrestling early on. Baker took control until Shanna downed her with an enziguiri. Shanna went for a running dropkick but Rebel pulled Baker out of the way, and Baker took advantage with an attack on the floor ahead of the break.

Shanna sent Baker to the canvas and landed a clothesline for two. Baker escaped out of a move into a cradle for two before hitting a short thrust kick. A swinging neckbreaker followed for another two. Baker went for the Lockjaw, but Shanna cradled out of it for two and hit a stunner and a running dropkick.

Rebel distracted the official as Shanna went for a Tiger Driver, allowing Baker to apply the Lockjaw for the submission.

After the match, Baker hit a curb stomp on Shanna and applied the Lockjaw again, btut Thunder Rosa’s music played and Rosa chased Baker and Rebel away.

**********

A camera crew was following MJF as he looked for Sammy Guevara. MJF promised that he didn’t tell Wardlow to get involved in the match last week, so he docked Wardlow’s pay. Guevara called MJF one of the best manipulators in the business and said that he sees exactly what MJF is up to. MJF got serious and asked if Guevara wants to play it this way. Guevara said “I’m not playing.”

Dasha interviewed the Young Bucks and the Good Brothers. The Good Brothers acted all wacky like when they were in the Bullet Club, and said they’d beat up Jon Moxley next week. Matt didn’t want Don Callis to get involved. They were about to argue, but Kenny Omega showed up with a heavily bandaged Don Callis. Callis said that the Bucks assaulted him, but their music played to start the match.

The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) & The Good Brothers (Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows) defeated Dark Order (Evil Uno, Stu Grayson, Alex Reynolds, & John Silver)

The announcers mentioned the Bullet Club by name.

Uno and Anderson started off. Uno hit an atomic drop and rolled Anderson up for a quick two. Silver tagged in and wanted Gallows, the big guy. The height difference was a great visual, and Gallows taunted him for it. Silver laid in forearms but Nick kicked him in the back, allowing Matt to tag in.

Matt did his usual heel work, including raking the back. Reynolds and Matt had an exchange, but Nick tagged in with his corner knee into a bulldog sequence. All four of the Bucks and the Brothers worked together to beat down Reynolds, concluding with the Too Sweet pose. Both teams tripped the wrestlers in the ring and Reynolds reached Grayson for a tag.

Grayson dispatched everyone in his path with a fantastic hot tag. He concluded it with a frog splash on Anderson for two ahead of a break. During the break, the Bucks and the Brothers took control by double-teaming Grayson with the official distracted.

Back from break, a well-placed kick allowed Grayson to escape to Silver for the hot tag. He backdropped Nick all over the place and followed it up with a sequence not unlike his incredible hot tag from the Brodie Lee tribute show. A brainbuster on Nick followed for two.

Uno tagged in and hit a neckbreaker, but whiffed on the senton bomb. Matt tagged in and hit a double Northern Lights suplex and a double clothlesline on the entire Dark Order. Silver and Reynolds double-teamed Matt in the ring before Dark Order hit Fatality, but the Good Brothers broke it up for a great near fall.

Nick hit superkicks on everyone and followed it up with an escalera dive onto the pile. Uno, Silver and Reynolds were all powerbombed onto the ring apron outside, and they hit a triple superkick on Grayson in the ring, but Uno was somehow able to break it up. The Good Brothers dispatched Uno with the Magic Killer and the Bucks hit the Meltzer Driver on Grayson to win.

After the match, Matt talked about next week’s tag team battle royal. He said that if they win, they get to handpick their opponents for Revolution. Matt said it could be “anybody” and looked at the Good Brothers, and they posed with the Too Sweet.

Rey Fénix ran out and attacked the Good Brothers, but he was overwhelmed with the numbers advantaged and the Brothers set up for the Magic Killer. Moxley ran out to make the save and Fénix took out the Good Brothers with a ridiculous tope. Kenny Omega ran out to attack Moxley, but Moxley spiked him with a Paradigm Shift as he and Fénix posed to close the show.

AEW’s Private Party to challenge for Impact tag titles at No Surrender

Impact Wrestling has revealed when AEW’s Private Party (Marq Quen & Isiah Kassidy) will be getting their Impact Tag Team title shot.

It was announced today that Private Party (w/ Matt Hardy) will challenge The Good Brothers (Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows) for the Impact Tag Team titles at No Surrender on Saturday, February 13. No Surrender is Impact Wrestling’s next Impact Plus special.

Private Party became the number one contenders to Anderson & Gallows’ titles by defeating Chris Sabin & the returning James Storm in the main event of this week’s Impact. AEW’s Tony Khan and Jerry Lynn appeared in the Impact Zone to scout the match. Hardy distracted the referee and Lynn interfered by holding onto Sabin’s leg as he was on the top rope. Private Party then hit Gin and Juice on Sabin to get the win.

After the number one contender’s match, Anderson & Gallows confronted Private Party. The show then ended in a brawl between Private Party, Anderson & Gallows, and Sabin & Storm.

Anderson & Gallows teamed with AEW World Champion Kenny Omega to defeat Impact World Champion Rich Swann, Moose & Sabin in the main event of this past Saturday’s Impact Hard to Kill pay-per-view.

Anderson & Gallows vs. Private Party is the first match that’s been announced for No Surrender.

Six-man tag match to headline AEW Beach Break

The main event for the Beach Break edition of AEW Dynamite on February 3 has been announced.

Kenny Omega and The Good Brothers (Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows) will team up to take on Jon Moxley, PAC, and Rey Fenix. The Good Brothers started a feud with Fenix and Penta El 0 M last week when the Lucha Brothers made the save for Moxley following a 3-on-1 beatdown from Omega, Anderson, and Gallows. The feud continued this week when Omega and The Good Brothers took out Penta backstage, attacking him with a chair.

Omega and Moxley have continued their feud in the weeks since Omega defeated Moxley at Winter is Coming on December 2 to win the AEW World Championship.

A tag team battle royal was also announced for Beach Break. The winners will face AEW World Tag Team champions The Young Bucks at AEW Revolution on February 27.

Already announced for Beach Break is a singles match between Thunder Rosa and Britt Baker. The marriage between Penelope Ford and Kip Sabian will also take place.

AEW’s Private Party & Matt Hardy appear on Impact Wrestling

Matt Hardy and Private Party appeared on tonight’s Impact Wrestling, facing off against Chris Sabin and a returning James Storm.

Impact Tag Team champions The Good Brothers (Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows) came out on tonight’s show to talk about their win at Hard to Kill. Sabin came out and said that his team wanted a rematch, as they never lost the titles. The Good Brothers mentioned that Alex Shelley was still out. Sabin then brought out Storm, who cut a promo putting over him and Sabin as a team.

This brought out Hardy and Private Party. Hardy said that his team came to Impact for a warm-up match, and wanted to face the Impact Tag Team champions. The Good Brothers suggested a match between Private Party and Sabin & Storm, with the winners becoming the number one contenders for the titles.

The two teams had their match in the main event. The finish had Sabin going to the top rope but Jerry Lynn, who was at ringside with AEW President Tony Khan, came to ringside and grabbed Sabin’s feet. This allowed Private Party to win the match with their Gin & Juice finisher. The show ended with Sabin & Storm, Private Party, and The Good Brothers brawling inside the ring.

Private Party will team with Matt Hardy tomorrow on Dynamite to face the team of Matt Sydal and Top Flight.

Kenny Omega pins Rich Swann at Impact Hard to Kill

AEW World champion Kenny Omega pinned Impact World champion Rich Swann during tonight’s Hard to Kill main event.

Omega pinned Swann in a six-man tag team match, with Omega teaming with The Good Brothers (Karl Anderson and Doc Gallow), while Swann teamed with Chris Sabin and Moose. The finish had Swann scoring nearfalls, one following a 450 splash, but Omega ended the match after cutting off Swann and pinning him with the One Winged Angel.

The match was originally scheduled to feature Swann teaming with the Motor City Machine Guns. However, it was announced on Friday that Alex Shelley would not be able to travel to Nashville for the show due to unavoidable circumstances. He said that he did not have COVID-19.

Omega has appeared on Impact Wrestling regularly since winning the AEW World Championship at AEW Winter is Coming on December 2, aligning himself with Impact Executive Vice President Don Callis.

Impact announced before their main event that their next pay-per-view, Rebellion, would take place on April 24.

Impact Hard to Kill live results: Omega debuts, three title matches

Preview by Josh Nason

Over a month after he made his debut on Impact Wrestling following his AEW World Championship victory, Kenny Omega will step into an Impact ring for the first time in the main event of Hard to Kill.

He will team with Impact Tag Team Champions and former Bullet Club teammates The Good Brothers to take on Impact World Champion Rich Swann, Moose and Chris Sabin in a six-man tag. Moose replaced Alex Shelley who was pulled from the card Friday because he couldn’t make it to Nashville.

In general, the pay-per-view has a little something for everyone as there will be three title matches including new Knockouts Tag Team Champions being crowned, a barbed wire massacre, and a match where Ethan Page will face his alter ego, The Karate Man.

Our live coverage kicks off at 7 p.m. Eastern time as Josh Alexander faces Brian Myers on the pre-show with the main card kicking off at 8 p.m. Eastern.

**********

PRE-SHOW

Jon Burton, Madison Rayne, and Scott D’Amore are hosting the pre-show event.

We got a backstage segment with Kenny Omega, Don Callis, and the Good Brothers analyzing Moose’s introduction to the main event. Callis hinted putting Moose’s contract over his head, as a means to convince him to aid the Omega, Anderson, and Gallows team tonight.

We got a promo from Sami Callihan. He promised chaos and violence, and while everyone is talking about the main event right now, at the end, they’ll be talking about Barbed Wire Masscre IV.

Brian Myers defeated Josh Alexander

After the dissension between The North, Josh Alexander has been trying to find himself. Myers has been rising in the ranks, but also can’t seem to get the opportunity he feels he has earned. A couple of weeks ago, Myers proposed that Alexander and him joined forces, but after Alexander rejected the idea, the two started a rivalry to show who is the better of the two. Myers has a win over Alexander, who is now trying to show that it was a fluke.

Match saw Myers control most of the match. Early in the match, Myers managed to throw Alexander off the top rope into the floor, and thus successfully cut him off. Alexander made a comeback by striking Myers off the ring and getting some time to recover. They traded a couple of near falls towards the end, including Myers pulling on Alexander’s tights. Myers would end up winning by pulling down Alexander’s headgear, blinding him, and delivering his lariat for the win. Good stuff from both men, they got a good amount of time.

Myers is now 2-0 against Alexander, so at this point a tag team between the two seems less likely.

Impact has added fake crowd noise to the broadcast. It’s taking me off since it has been months, but I’m hoping I’ll be accustomed to it by the end of the show.

Ace Austin and Madman Fulton joined the analysis table. He talked about his rise to the top in the last two years, and that 2021 will be no different, being the Super X Cup winner only two weeks in on the year. Austin said that he should be in tonight’s card, but isn’t.

Madison Rayne announced her retirement from wrestling.

**********

Matt Striker & D’lo Brown are debuting as the new commentary team.

Opening video recapped the Omega & Good Brothers vs Swann & MCMGs feud, including replacing Alex Shelley with Moose and Swann’s issues with it.

Decay (Rosemary & Crazzy Steve) defeated Tenille Dashwood & Kaleb with a K

Decay reunited on the last Impact episode before the pay per view, when Crazzy Steve came out to counter Kaleb while Rosemary and Dashwood wrestled. Dashwood and Kaleb had been messing with Rosemary about her being left behind now that Taya was focused on the title again.

Story of the match was that Kaleb was a doofus of a wrestler, but a cheating doofus that would cheat as a means for Dashwood to get the upper hand on Rosemary. It would be Dashwood and Kaleb’s overconfidence that would end up costing them the control they had over Rosemary, as they went for the whazzap headbutt that would give Rosemary the opening to counter and tag in Steve. Later on, when they managed to cut off Steve for a couple of minutes, he too got the time to counter them when Dashwood and Kaleb stopped to take selfies.

Finish Steve and Rosemary hit Dashwood and Kaleb with the green mist respectively, leading to Steve hitting the second rope DDT for the win. Ok match, Kaleb and Crazzy Steve had a good performance.

– Striker and Brown ran down tonight’s card.

Violent By Design (Eric Young, Joe Doering, & Deaner) defeated Tommy Dreamer, Rhino, & Cousin Jake in an Old School Rules Match

Young and Doering have been roughing up people for weeks now, Rhino and the Deaners some of their victims. When it seemed like they could get the upper hand, Cody Deaner turned on his cousin and joined EY’s group. Dreamer joined the trio when he came to the aid of Rhino and Cousin Jake after a beating from EY’s group, and ended making the challenge for Hard To Kill.

Violent By Design are all wearing matching gear.

Early on, the match built to the Deaner vs Cousin Jake confrontation, and the Rhino vs Doering one. After some minutes brawling outside the ring, Doering confronted all three babyfaces, wielding chairs, and while he took some damage, Doering was able to bring down all babyfaces, building him as a monster. His match-long story was that no one could get him off his feet, not even with dives, it would take a Gore from Rhino to finally do it.

Towards the end, all men took turns at each other, starting with Dreamer dropping EY on thumbtacks, but after everyone had their turn, it would be Young that would drop Cousin Jake with a piledriver for the win. This was pretty good, Joe Doering is amazing.

During this match, they would occasionally cut to a tri-screen look, either showing three different angles of a spot, or just each of the pair ups in this match.

– We got a segment with Swann and Sabin meeting Moose. Swann told Moose that he didn’t trust him, he said that it should be Willie Mack instead, but Moose had injured him. Moose explained that he hates them both, but when it comes to Impact, he bleeds Impact and he won’t allow any outside to come in and disrespect them promotion. Moose was amazing, total babyface.

Fire & Flava (Kiera Hogan & Tasha Steelz) defeated Havok & Nevaeh in the Knockouts Tag Team Championship Tournament Finals

We’ve finally reached the finals of the tournament. Havok and Nevaeh defeated Dashwood & Alisha Edwards and the team of Jordynne Grace & Jazz on their path to the finals. On the other hand, Hogan & Steelz defeated the Sea Stars and the team of Rosemary and Taya Valkyrie to make it to the finals.

This was a power vs speed match. Havok and Nevaeh dominated early on, it wasn’t until Hogan and Steelz managed to double team Havok behind the referee’s back, that they managed to cut her off. It was a bit weird seeing Havok become the babyface in peril, but it helped that Hogan and Steelz are constantly moving, constant attacks, and quick tags, and at the end, it all made sense when she made her comeback and got the tag to Nevaeh. Finish would come a couple of minutes later when Hogan pinned Nevaeh while Steelz held off Havok outside the ring.

There was a spot that seemed to be a tower of doom spot, but instead, Havok turned it into a double powerbomb on both Hogan and Steelz.

The right team won, even in disadvantage, the tag team work between Hogan and Steelz was far superior. This is Hogan and Steelz’ first championships in the promotion.

Gail Kim and Madison Rayne, former tag champs, came out to crown the new champions.

Brian Hebner made his return to the promotion in this match.

– Backstage, Decay approached Taya about backing her in tonight’s match. Taya asked them to stay behind because she wanted to do this by herself.

– Ace Austin and Madman Fulton came out to cut a promo. Austin said that it was a waste of his time to only have him talking in the pre-show, so instead told D’Amore to add him to the X Division match tonight, as he was the rightful winner of the Super X Cup. D’Amore came out and gave him another match instead.

Matt Cardona defeated Ace Austin (with Madman Fulton) by DQ

Matt Cardona is making his Impact debut tonight.
This was a fast paced match, back and forward, but quite short. It all built to Cardona getting close to finishing up Austin before Fulton interfered and attacked Cardona for the DQ. After the match, Cardona cleared the ring.

X Division Champion Manik defeated Chris Bey and Rohit Raju to retain the title

TJP (Manik’s real identity), Bey, and Raju have been feuding for a couple of months for the X Division title, they’ve traded the title a couple of times before. The story comes down to TJP having to mask himself as Manik in order to challenge Raju and win the title, and now Bey and Raju, as they chase the title, are focused on trying to unmask him.

This was awesome. Commentary sold this perfectly, explaining that this was a brawler vs technician vs flyer match. Raju and Bey never pretended to be on the same side, they’ve worked together against TJP before, but have never been friends. The story of the match instead was Bey and Raju racing each other to get their hands on Manik, which led to some great 3 person spots. A great spot saw Manik go for a mamba splash on Raju, but get caught midair by a springboard cutter from Bey.

The match built to Raju finally unmasking Manik, but underneath the mask, was a face painted TJP, that commentary pretended not to recognize.

At the end, all three men traded near falls, constantly stealing them from each other. They had a throwback to how Raju once stole the title from both men. It would be Manik that would get the win with a snap pin on Raju after he had done the work on Bey.

– Backstage, Alisha Edwards pleaded to Eddie to let her be out there with him. Eddie forbade her, he had to do this alone and couldn’t risk having her out there, knowing what Callihan and Shamrock are willing to do. Alisha promised she wouldn’t go out there.

Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo (with Kimber Lee & Susan) defeated Taya Valkyrie (with Decay) to retain the title.

After Taya and Rosemary eliminated the team of Purrazzo and Lee from the Knockouts Tag Team Tournament, Purrazzo decided to go after Taya. Purrazzo is out to show that she is the greatest Knockouts Champion by defeating the longest reigning champion in the belt’s history. Taya is on her path to reclaiming such title.

The match, really early on, broke down into a brawl with Rosemary and Kimber Lee wrestling each other outside the ring, Crazzy Steve and Susan arguing, and so the referee sent everyone to the back, leaving only the wrestlers.

Once everything was under control in the ring, Purrazzo cut off Taya and started working on her left arm, as is her usual mode of operation. Yet, this time around, Purrazzo started targeting Taya’s leg too, she would lock in the arm, and pull the leg for a half Boston crab.

In return, Taya’s game was mostly based on striking and big slams or suplexes that could cut off Purrazzo’s offense. The damage was enough though, that when she went for an early road to Valhalla, her knee buckled, so she had to change her offense to submissions or moves like the curb stomp that wouldn’t require putting weight on her knee.

Finish would come soon after Taya’s comeback when Purrazzo hit a Mistica, brought down Taya with the Fujiwara armbar, and finally locked Venus de Milo for the verbal submission. Really good, but not long enough.

Taya cried in the ring after the match.

– We got a comedy skit with Acey Romero and John E. Bravo about the whole shooting thing that I thought had been forgotten. Romero discovered that Larry D had been framed by one of the Knockouts.

Karate Man defeated Ethan Page

The story behind this is that Page had a mental breakdown when he and Alexander couldn’t regain the tag team titles after losing them to the Good Brothers. Suddenly, we were introduced to Page’s alter ego, Karate Man, who he’ll now wrestle.

This was nothing, just Ethan Page doing a bunch of kicks and punches like 1992 Mortal Kombat, including Karate Man ripping Page’s heart out. This was terrible, they broke up The North for this.

For anyone that has never been into cinematic matches or the Undead Realm, don’t watch this. This was Ethan Page figuring out how to use a green screen and double exposure. If anything else, this was the break that the Impact team needed to set up Barbed Wire Massacre.

– Don Callis met with Moose. Callis put Moose over and brought up his contract saying they have a big future together, but that it will be terrible if something happens with Omega tonight and they get sued and they can’t keep contractual obligations. Moose told Callis that no matter who he teams with, he plays to win. Once he is done with Omega, he’ll win Swann’s title, and maybe he’ll show up on AEW and take Omega’s title too. Total babyface!

Eddie Edwards defeated Sami Callihan in Barbed Wire Massacre IV

This feud goes back years and many violent battles. It all rekindled after Edwards backed up Swann after Callihan and Shamrock had made attempts to capture the World title, and thus Callihan once again went after Edwards, his wife, and the eye he once legit injured. This blood feud has reached a level of intensity that not many feuds in Impact history have reached, and that is the famed Barbed Wire Massacre, this being only the 4th installment of such stipulation.

Ring is surrounded by barbed wire, barbed wire weapons, one side of the ring has a cage wall wrapped in barbed wire, bringing me back to old CZW.

Story of the match was that Edwards was wrestling angry and hot headed, and that led him to wreckless risks that the calmer Callihan would take advantage of. Edwards was playing in Callihan’s sandbox, and if he wanted to win, had to either turn this into a wrestling match, or go down to Callihan’s level.

This got bloody really early, it was a couple of minutes that Edwards wrapped barbed wire around Callihan’s forehead to cut him up. Edwards was busted open a couple of minutes later when he went for a tope suicida and Callihan caught him with a barbed wire board that he crashed through.

The brawl continued with both men trading control, utilizing some of the weapons around the ring. Callihan used an N64 controller wrapped in barbed wired, while Edwards used a chair, also wrapped in barbed wire. At one point, both men tried to make this a Taipei Deathmatch, by wrapping their fists in barbed wire.

There was a cool spot where Edwards and Callihan had their hands on each other’s signature weapons, which they decided to trade before going at it. A small glimpse of respect between the two.

Towards the end, we got some big near falls, one where Callihan hit a piledriver from the second rope into a barbed wire board bed. We had a callback to the eye accident but wrapped in barbed wire, only for Edwards to block it with a low blow, hit the BKP and the Emerald Flowsion for the win. This was great, it was brutal and bloody.

After the match, Alisha came out to help Eddie to the back.

AEW World Champion Kenny Omega & the Impact Tag Team Champions The Good Brothers (Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows) (with Don Callis) defeated Impact World Champion Rich Swann, Self-Proclaimed TNA World Champion Moose, and Chris Sabin

This was originally supposed to be Swann and the Motor City Machine Guns, but at the last minute, Shelley announced that he would not be able to travel to Nashville for the match, and thus Impact offices have replaced him with Moose, who is the no. 1 contender to Swann’s World title.

The story here goes back to December when Kenny Omega won the AEW World title thanks to the aid of Impact’s EVP Don Callis. The next week, Omega made his first appearance as the champion on an Impact show, and immediately got to work, befriending his former Bullet Club mates, Anderson and Gallows, but also antagonized the Impact World Champion — Rich Swann.

Moose looks like a million dollars tonight. Good Brothers and Omega came out with Bullet Club gear, they pointed to the logo on several occasions. Don Callis made Omega’s special introduction.

Match had an interesting layout. Both Sabin and Swann had babyface in peril runs, but in between each, the Impact team would have crazy babyface comebacks with all men running wild with dives and triple team moves.

Storyline wise, mostly everything was said before the match, but they made the point that in the Omega and Good Brothers team, only Omega was going for pins, like if the Good Brothers were doing the work for Omega; whereas for the Impact team, all men got near falls on Kenny Omega on different occasions.

It was until the end that the match came down to Swann and Omega. Swann had some great near falls hitting the 450, but at the end, it was Omega hitting the One Winged Angel on Swann for the win. Great match, 100% delivered, Moose was the MVP if you ask me.

The AEW World Champion just pinned the Impact World Champion.

Kenny Omega & The Good Brothers appearance announced for Impact

Kenny Omega to team with The Good Brothers at Impact Hard to Kill

AEW World Champion Kenny Omega will reunite with two of his former Bullet Club stablemates as he makes his Impact Wrestling in-ring debut next month.

It was announced at the end of tonight’s episode of Impact that Omega & Impact Tag Team Champions The Good Brothers (Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows) will face Impact World Champion Rich Swann & The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) at Impact Wrestling’s Hard to Kill pay-per-view. The PPV is taking place on Saturday, January 16.

Throughout tonight’s Impact, Omega met with Anderson, hyping him up for his match against Sabin in the main event. Anderson proceeded to defeat Sabin after rolling him up, grabbing his tights. Omega and Don Callis, who were seen watching the match on a nearby bus, celebrated Anderson’s win.

The closing segment of the show saw Swann confront Anderson backstage about the finish. Gallows, who had been out injured, then returned and attacked Swann and The Motor City Machine Guns, who had come in to make the save.

It was here that Omega arrived, taking out Swann with a caution sign. Omega taunted Swann, telling Callis to show Swann the AEW World Championship title belt. Callis said it was the real World Champion’s belt. Omega then proposed the six-man tag team match for Hard to Kill and Callis made it official.

The finals of the Impact Knockouts Tag Team title tournament will also be held at Hard to Kill. Tasha Steelz & Kiera Hogan advanced to the finals tonight, defeating Rosemary & Taya Valkyrie. The winners of the Havok & Neaveh vs. Jordynne Grace & Jazz semifinal match will meet Steelz & Hogan in the finals.

Karl Anderson vs. Chris Sabin set for this week’s Impact

A new match has been announced for Impact on Tuesday.

The company announced on social media that Karl Anderson would be facing one half of the Motor City Machine Guns, Chris Sabin.

“First time ever vs. @SuperChrisSabin. Tomorrow night 8 pm EST #IMPACTonAXSTV @IMPACTWRESTLING #TheMachineGunIsBack.” Anderson wrote on Twitter.

The match comes following a segment that aired during Final Resolution between Anderson, Don Callis, and Kenny Omega. Anderson met Omega in his private bus and reminisced about their days in the Bullet Club. Omega inspired Anderson to bring back the ‘Machine Gun’ of old, citing his finals performance against Kazuchika Okada at the G1 Climax tournament back in 2012.

Anderson proceeded to defeat Ethan Page in a singles match later on in the show. The storyline had been that Page had injured Gallows, putting him out of action for 4-5 weeks. If Page had won, The North would have received a Tag Team title match.

The Good Brothers won the titles back at Turning Point on November 14, defeating The North.
