Two matches announced for WWE NXT

Two matches have been announced for Tuesday’s edition of WWE NXT.

Eddy Thorpe vs. Dijak is now scheduled for the show. Thorpe interfered during the men’s Iron Survivor Challenge last night at Deadline, costing Dijak a chance to win the match.

Also announced for Tuesday is a six-person mixed match pitting Meta Four’s Noam Dar, Oro Mensah, & Lash Legend against Josh Briggs, Brooks Jensen, & Fallon Henley. This comes after the two groups were involved in a backstage brawl last night at Deadline.

The 2023 NXT Men’s Breakout tournament will also begin on Tuesday. Riley Osborne, Keanu Carver, Tavion Heights, Dion Lennox, Luca Crusifino, Myles Borne, Trey Bearhill, and Oba Femi have been featured in videos promoting the tournament.

WWE NXT on December 12, 2023, announced lineup:

  • Eddy Thorpe vs. Dijak
  • Meta Four’s Lash Legend, Oro Mensah & Noam Dar vs. Fallon Henley, Josh Briggs, & Brooks Jensen
  • 2023 Men’s Breakout Tournament begins

Tyler Bate, Fallon Henley qualify for WWE NXT Iron Survivor Challenge

The final two participants for the Iron Survivor Challenge have been decided.

Fallon Henley and Tyler Bate have advanced to Saturday’s men’s and women’s Iron Survivor Challenge at NXT Deadline after winning a last chance fatal four-way match on Tuesday’s show. Henley won after Roxanne Perez and Kiana James fell into the announcer’s table. A distracted Thea Hail was then laid out by a shining wizard by Henley for the win.

Tyler Bate also advanced to the Iron Survivor Challenge, pinning Joe Coffey in a match that also had Eddy Thorpe and Carmelo Hayes.

Later in the show, the five women’s Iron Survivor Challenge participants met in a summit that broke out in a brawl after Henley attacked Tiffany Stratton. The brawl spilled out into a match between Axiom and Nathan Frazer, causing the referee to throw out the match. Blair Davenport was walking to the back when she was laid out by Nikkita Lyons, who made her television return on last week’s show.

The show ended with the five men’s participants brawling around ringside, with Bate ending up being the last person standing to end the show.

Here is the updated card for NXT Deadline:

  • NXT Championship: Ilja Dragunov defends against Baron Corbin
  • NXT North American Championship: Dominik Mysterio defends against Dragon Lee
  • Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge: Dijak vs. Trick Williams vs. Josh Briggs vs. Bron Breakker vs. Tyler Bate
  • Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge: Tiffany Stratton vs. Lash Legend vs. Blair Davenport vs. Kelani Jordan vs. Fallon Henley
  • Steel Cage: Roxanne Perez vs. Kiana James
  • Carmelo Hayes vs. Lexis King
  • Kickoff match: Axiom vs. Nathan Fraszer

Ricochet, Fallon Henley placed in WWE concussion protocol

WWE has placed Ricochet and Fallon Henley in concussion protocol.

Ricochet was injured in the four-way match on Raw for a shot at Gunther’s Intercontinental Championship. He landed on his head and neck when attempting a springboard hurricanrana on Ivar and appeared to be rocked after.

Ricochet’s status was addressed on last night’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio by our own Dave Meltzer.

“It’s concussion protocol. I don’t want to say concussion because as far as I know, it was not diagnosed as a concussion,” Meltzer said.

Ricochet was said to be feeling fine after but he does not remember much of the match itself.

“(Ricochet) doesn’t remember a lot of the match,” Meltzer continued.

The original plan was for Ivar and Miz to pin Ricochet and Bronson Reed at the same time, leading to Miz vs. Ivar on Raw next week, which Miz was scheduled to win. However, Ricochet ended up getting his shoulder up on the pin, which he was not supposed to do.

Ivar attacking Miz after the match and hitting him with a moonsault was an on-the-fly decision to provide a reason for Miz and Ivar to still wrestle next week.

“Ricochet is alright but as far as when he’ll be cleared and all that, it’s concussion protocol, you just don’t know,” Meltzer said.

As for Henley, she was injured during her match against Tiffany Stratton on NXT this week.

Although this is not confirmed, our own Bryan Alvarez believes Henley sustained the injury when Stratton landed her Prettiest Moonsault Ever.

“You could see immediately when she hit that moonsault, like, Fallon’s head bounced off the mat,” Alvarez said. “Tiffany pinned her and I’m almost certain that’s where it happened. But she is also injured, so best wishes to both of them.”

There is no timetable for either wrestler’s return.

Women’s Tag Team title match added to WWE NXT Stand & Deliver

A Women’s Tag Team title match has been added to NXT Stand & Deliver.

Kiana James and Fallon Henley will defend the titles against Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn, who defeated Ivy Nile & Tatum Paxley and Katana Chance & Kayden Carter on Wednesday’s show to become the new number one contenders. Later in the show, Kiana James was attacked by Fyre and Dawn after she failed to qualify for the women’s title ladder match at Stand & Deliver.

In addition, a five-way match for the NXT North American title was added after Wes Lee’s open challenge on NXT went awry, causing a number of wrestlers to brawl around the ring. In a video posted by the NXT Anonymous Twitter account,  Lee demanded Shawn Michaels give him ten of the best NXT has to offer at Stand and Deliver. Micheals said he would give him four, making it a five-way match for Los Angeles.

After losing their NXT Tag Team title match earlier in the show, Pretty Deadly wondered in a backstage interview how they would get to Stand and Deliver. They eventually decided they would host the show.

Here is the updated lineup for NXT Stand and Deliver:

  • NXT Championship: Bron Breakker (c) vs. Carmelo Hayes
  • NXT Women’s title ladder match: Zoey Stark vs. Gigi Dolin vs. ???
  • NXT Women’s Tag Team titles: Kiana James & Fallon Henley vs. Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn
  • NXT North American title: Wes Lee vs. ??? vs. ??? vs. ???
  • Johnny Gargano vs. Grayson Waller

Kiana James & Fallon Henley win Women’s Tag Team titles at WWE NXT Vengeance Day

Kiana James and Fallon Henley are the new NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions.

James and Henley defeated Katana Chance and Kayden Carter at NXT Vengeance Day on Saturday. The finish had James push Chance off the top rope. Henley countered by hooking up Carter with her feet. James, from the outside, then held onto Carter’s feet as Carter was pinned, with Henley unaware of James’ assistance. Chance and Carter’s run with the titles ends after 186 days.

Henley and James have been feuding for the last several months, with James having an interest in Henley’s family bar. Henley defeated James in December to retain the rights to the bar. Since then, James has developed an interest in Henley’s friend, Brooks Jensen, with Henley being suspicious of their relationship.

Henley first teamed with James on the January 24 edition of NXT, defeating Tatum Paxley and Ivy Nile. James then told Henley she got them a Tag Team title match for Vengeance Day. Henley at first didn’t like the idea, as she agreed to team with James for one time only, but later decided to agree to the match.

Josh Briggs, Brooks Jensen & Fallon Henley debut at WWE Main Event taping

Three wrestlers from NXT made their main roster debuts on Monday.

Fallon Henley, Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen all competed in matches before last night’s episode of WWE Raw from the Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

Henley defeated Dana Brooke in singles competition. Briggs & Jensen defeated the team of R-Truth and Shelton Benjamin.

Former EVOLVE Champion Josh Briggs began training at the WWE Performance Center in October 2020. He started teaming with Jensen on the debut episode of NXT 2.0 on September 14, 2021. Jensen is the son of former WWE wrestler Bull Buchanan and reported to the Performance Center in August 2021.

Henley wrestled under her real name of Tesha Price in a dark match at the Mae Young Classic tapings in 2018, losing to Britt Baker. She then wrestled 21 matches for AEW between November 2020 and August 2021. The 28-year-old signed with WWE and made her NXT debut in September 2021.

Fallon Henley vs. Lash Legend added to WWE NXT 2.0 anniversary episode

A new match has been confirmed for NXT 2.0’s one-year anniversary episode.

WWE has announced that Fallon Henley vs. Lash Legend will take place on NXT this Tuesday. The two have been involved in a feud, with Henley aligned with Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen and Legend aligned with Pretty Deadly.

Legend & Pretty Deadly defeated Henley, Briggs & Jensen on the final NXT before Worlds Collide. Pretty Deadly then won a four-way match at Worlds Collide to become the unified NXT Tag Team Champions.

WWE.com wrote:

After countless run-ins and brawls, Fallon Henley and Lash Legend are finally set to settle the score in the ring.

The outspoken Legend made her feelings known when she blindsided Henley with a pump kick before joining Pretty Deadly to mock the country trio. Since then, Legend has added some extra flavor to the tasty snacks’ rivalry with Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen, scrapping with Henley at every opportunity.

Can Henley get retribution on Legend when the two Superstars go one-on-one? Find out Tuesday night on NXT 2.0 at 8/7 C on USA!

  • Tony D’Angelo & Stacks vs. Cameron Grimes and a partner to be determined
  • Nikkita Lyons & Zoey Stark vs. Kiana James & Arianna Grace
  • Hank Walker vs. Javier Bernal
  • Fallon Henley vs. Lash Legend

Tag team match announced for WWE NXT

A women’s tag team match has been made official for this week’s edition of NXT.

NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Katana Chance & Kayden Carter will be in action as they face Ivy Nile & Tatum Paxley on NXT this Tuesday night. It appears that Chance & Carter vs. Nile & Paxley will be a non-title match.

Earlier this month, Chance & Carter became NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions by winning a fatal four-way elimination match. Nile & Paxley, Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne, and Yulisa Leon & Valentina Feroz were the other teams in the match.

The NXT Women’s Tag Team titles were vacant going into that four-way match following the breakup of Roxanne Perez & Cora Jade’s team.

There was a backstage segment on NXT last week where Chance & Carter said they’re ready for any challenge:

Tuesday’s NXT will feature the final build to Worlds Collide, which takes place this Sunday (September 4).

Here’s the updated lineup for the episode:

WWE NXT (Tuesday, August 30) —

  • Apollo Crews vs. Grayson Waller
  • Josh Briggs, Brooks Jensen & Fallon Henley vs. Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince & Kit Wilson) & Lash Legend
  • Diamond Mine (Brutus Creed, Julius Creed & Damon Kemp) vs. Gallus (Mark Coffey, Joe Coffey & Wolfgang)
  • Katana Chance & Kayden Carter vs. Ivy Nile & Tatum Paxley

Fallon Henley, Nikkita Lyons advance in NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament

Fallon Henley and Nikkia Lyons have advanced in the NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament.

Tonight’s episode of NXT saw the start of the tournament. Henley defeated Sloane Jacobs in the first match, scoring the win following a shining wizard. Later in the show, Lyons defeated Arriana Grace, getting the win following a leaping leg drop.

Based on the brackets, Lyons will face Henley in the semifinals. The two remaining matches of the opening round will have Roxanne Perez taking on Kiana James and Lash Legend facing Tatum Paxley. The winners of those two matches will advance to the semifinals.

Lyons has been featured on NXT in recent months, most recently feuding with Lash Legend. Lyons teamed with Cora Jade to defeat Legend and Natalya on the May 5 edition of NXT. Henley has been associated with the tag team of Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen, first appearing as a bartender in a bar they were in and later shown in backstage segments with the team.

Three participants announced for NXT Women’s Breakout tournament

More names have been announced for the NXT Women’s Breakout tournament that begins next week on NXT.

Fallon Henley, Tatum Paxley, and Roxanne Perez will be taking part in the tournament, where the winner will receive an NXT Women’s Championship match. Vignettes shown tonight had Henley and Paxley announcing their entry, while Perez told Wendy Choo that she needed to prepare for the tournament.

Henley, who has been associated with Brooks Jensen and Josh Briggs, talked about her love of horses and growing up on a farm. Paxley, who in recent weeks has been vying for the attention of Ivy Nile, was shown working out the gym.

Henley, Paxley, and Perez join Arrianna Grace, Kianna James, Sloane Jacobs, and Lash Legend in the first-ever women’s breakout tournament. The last Breakout tournament was held last year, where Carmelo Hayes defeated Odyssey Jones in the finals to win the tournament. Hayes eventually won the NXT North American Championship as a result of his tournament win.
