MLW reveals opponent for Isla Dawn debut

Isla Dawn will be facing a fellow former WWE talent in her MLW debut.

It’s been announced that Dawn vs. Scarlett Bordeaux will take place at MLW x Don Gato Tequila: Live Special on Thursday, November 20. The show is being held in Charleston, South Carolina and will stream live on MLW’s YouTube channel as well as airing on beIN Sports on cable.

Last week, MLW released a promo revealing that Dawn would be debuting at the event. She promised to make MLW a lot more dangerous with her arrival.

Dawn — a former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion — was released from her WWE contract in February. After that, she had one match for AEW over the summer and has made some appearances on ROH.

Bordeaux departed WWE in August upon the expiration of her contract. She’s returning to MLW after previously competing for the promotion in 2022.

Also at the November 20 show, Bordeaux’s husband Killer Kross will return to MLW against Matt Riddle. The show is taking place at Charleston Music Hall in partnership with Hollywood star Danny McBride and his Don Gato tequila company.

Here is the updated card:

MLW x Don Gato Tequila: Live Special —

Former WWE wrestler Isla Dawn to make MLW debut

A former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion will be making her MLW debut this month.

Last night, MLW posted a video hyping that Isla Dawn will arrive in the promotion at its upcoming event in Charleston, South Carolina. The show is taking place at Charleston Music Hall on Thursday, November 20 in collaboration with Hollywood star Danny McBride and the Don Gato tequila brand that he owns.

Dawn — in a return to her “unholy” persona — cut a promo promising to make MLW a lot more dangerous with her arrival.

“Everyone’s talking about MLW meets Don Gato,” Dawn said. “Charleston, the ‘Holy City’ — but all that holiness without a little sin? Well, that just sounds no fun. I think it’s time for the arrival of Isla Dawn to make Charleston a little less holy, and MLW a lot more dangerous.”

MLW hasn’t announced any other details about Dawn’s role for the show.

Dawn was released from her WWE contract back in February. She’s been making appearances on ROH recently after competing on AEW Collision once this summer.

In WWE, Dawn had Women’s Tag Team title reigns with Alba Fyre on the main roster and in NXT. Fyre is still with WWE and now aligned with Chelsea Green.

The MLW x Don Gato event is set to air live on MLW’s YouTube channel and beIN Sports at 8 p.m. Eastern on November 20. Here is everything that’s been announced:

Ring of Honor TV live results: Mascara Dorada, Deonna Purrazzo & more in action

Tonight’s Ring of Honor on HonorClub features the usual mix of singles, tag team and Pure rules matches.

CMLL’s Mascara Dorada returns to ROH action as he faces Angelico while former ROH men’s TV Champion Komander battles Griff Garrison of The Frat House.

In Pure rules action, Deonna Purrazzo takes on Angelica Risk.

The Grizzled Young Veterans & Isla Dawn will be in mixed trios action while in a men’s trios about, Dark Order (Evil Uno, John Silver & Alex Reynolds) take on Tommy Billington, Adam Priest & Jay Lethal.

Yuka Sakazaki teams with Alex Windsor against Billie Starkz & Aleah James.

**********

It’s once again time to dip your ladels into some hot, steamy Ring of Honor action! Tonight’s feast features the wrestler who’s fun to say, YUKA SAKAZAKI! So I’m already stoked!

Mascara Dorada (w/Alex Abrahantes) vs Angelico

Kicking things off with the smoothest man in Ring of Honor is a good start. Couple that with the human excitement that is Dorada and we’re in good shape!

Dorada started things off with a tight wristlock, keeping Angelico off his feet. The two tried a couple of staredowns, ending in a dance off and then Angelico tricked Dorada with a test of strenght and put a boot in his gut.

Dorada responded with an inside out-rana that sent Angelico to the outside. Dorada dove after him, and tossed him back into the ring. Dorada went up top for a moonsault, but Angelico got his legs up. He twisted Dorada’s arm into a side surfboard before switching to a grapevine. Dorada made it to the ropes though to break the hold.

Angelioc charged to the cornet, but Dorada dodged and hit a crossbody. A high kick sent Angelico to the mat and Dorada hit a tornado armdrag from the top turnbuckle. Angelico left the ring to get his composure, but Dorado followed with a tornado plancha through the ropes.

Dorada threw Angelico back in the ring and hit a 450 from the top turnbuckle, but it only got a two count. Dorada went up again, but Angelico caught him with a dropkick on the way down for his own two-count. Dorada hit a spin kick and then a shooting star press to get the 1-2-3!

Match Result: Mascara Dorada defeated Angelico

Next week, Dorada faces Bandido for the ROH World Championship!

Six Man Tag Team Match: Adam Priest, Jay Lethal & Tommy Billington vs The Dark Order (Alex Reynolds, Evil Uno & John Silver)

The Dark Order seem to have gone back to their purple leather jackets, which I have to say is a step down.

Anyway, Lethal and Reynolds kicked things off with a quick exchange of technical moves. Reynolds got the drop on Lethal and tagged in Silver. Uno joined them and they triple-teamed/posed over him. Silver stayed in and delivered some stiff kicks to a sitting Lethal.

Lethal got a tag to Priest who stomped Silver and delivered some European uppercuts. He and Lethal charged the Order’s corner, knocking Uno and Raynolds off the apron. Billington tagged in and threw hands a Silver working him down for a two-count.

Priest and Billington tried to double suplex Silver, but he reversed it and double suplexed them. He tagged in Uno who hit a double clothesline on Billingston and Priest. Lethal tagged in and went for a Lethal Injection, but Uno caught him with a neckbreaker/DDT combo.

The Order tossed Billington and Lethal out of the ring and tried a triple team on Priest, but Billington grabbed an ankle and the three were able to triple german suplex the order. Lethal dropped an elbow on Uno and wrapped him up in a grapevine, but he wasn’t legal.

Billington locked in a crossface on Silver and Priest grabbed a crab hold on Reynolds and all three submitted to end the match.

Match Result: Adam Priest, Jay Lethal & Tommy Billington defeated The Dark Order

-Mercedes Mone won the Interim ROH Women’s TV Title at Wrestledream. This made Red Velvet really mad and she put Mone on notice that she is ready to come back from injury and take back the title she never lost. I can almost guarantee we never see Mone defend that title on ROH TV.

Pure Rules Match: Deonna Purrazzo vs Angelica Risk

Purrazzo got the jump on Risk off the top, stomping her on the ropes in this non-Women’s Pure Championship Tournamanet Pure Rules Match.

Risk threw some hands, but Purrazzo put her in an armbar, forcing Risk to use a ropebreak at 1:28. Purrazzo went for a powerbomb, but Risk reversed it and hit a headscissor. Risk did a lot of yelling in this match as she climbed the turnbuckle. Purrazzo popped up and hung her up in a tree of woe for a big spear.

Purrazzo hit a powerbomb stack, but let up before the three count to put a Venus De Milo hold on Risk. Risk lasted about 7 seconds then tapped, giving Purrazzo the win.

Match Result: Deonna Purrazzo defeated Angelica Risk

Alex Windsor & Yuka Sakazaki vs Aleah James & Billie Starkz

After the Purazzo match, Yuka Sakazaki entered and passed her on the ramp. The two future Pure Rules Tournament opponents eyed each other as Sakazaki made her way down to the ring.

Windsor and Starkz kicked things off with Starkz sucker punching Windsor off the Code of Honor. Windsor bounced back though and sent Starkz to her corner. Sakazaki tagged in and she and Windsor took turns kicking Starkz.

Sakazaki went for a pin, but Starkz kicked out so hard, she caught Sakazaki in the back of the head with her foot. Windsor tagged back in and landed a nice armdrag, the rolled through for a dropkick. Windsor threw clotheslines at Starkz who eventually ducked and sent Windsor the ropes. James tagged in and the two took turns throwing elbows at Windsor.

James battled Windsor, who dragged her to the corner where Sakazaki went up and landed a missile dropkick. Sakazaki grabbed James for a staaaaalling suplex and then set her up for a Magic Girl Splash. Starkz tried to stop her, giving James enough time to move.

Starkz tagged herself in, blocking a tag from Sakazaki to Windsor. She hit a backbreaker on Sakazaki but got caught when Windsor re-joined to help out Sakazaki. Windsor hit a Blue Thunder Bomb, but as is tradition, it only got a two count.

Starkz went up top, but James made a blind tage to interrupting the move. While Starkz yelled at James, Sakazaki threw a headbutt, sending everyone out of the ring. Windsor threw James back in and grabbed her for a sharpshooter. She locked it in tight and James stretched for a tag from Starkz.

Starkz entertained the idea, but then hopped off the mat and left the ring, leaving James to fend for herself. Windsor grabbed James in a pumphandle slam and got the pin, 1-2-3.

Match Result: Alex Windsor & Yuka Sakazaki defeated Aleah James & Billie Starkz

-Backstage, Lethal, Billington and Priest talked about their big victory earlier in the evening, called out Blake Christian and Lee Johnson for reasons and then went to get something to eat.

Mixed Six Person Tag Team Match: Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake & Zack Gibson) & Isla Dawn vs Bryce Cannon, Dream Girl Ellie & Leeroy Shogun

Gibson and Cannon were the opening pair with Gibson getting him in an abdominal stretch right away. Drake tagged in and started working Cannon’s arm, grapvining and stomping it. He invited Cannon to throw a forearm at him, which he no-sold and then started throwing lariats.

Gibson tagged back in and he and Drake double teamed until Cannon got a tag to Ellie, which brought in Dawn. Dawn dropkicked Ellie then threw a high knee followed by a front suplex. Ellie tagged Shogun, which brought in Gibson.

Shogun had a size advantage, but Gibson won their test of strength and used his speed to get an eye poke in. Drake came in on a blind tag and hit a spingboard knee on Cannon on the outside. Shogun picked up Gibson and slammed him before dropping a big elbow. He tried it again, but ran into Drake’s elbow.

Dawn tagged in and Ellie tried a clothesline, but Danw intercepted with a suplex. Cannon came in and broke up the ensuing count. Gibson grabbed him by their hair and held him for Drake. They combined for a dropckick driver and Dawn landed a slam on Ellie, getting a pin becuase I guess they were legal.

Match Result: Grizzled Young Veterans & Isla Dawn defeated Bryce Cannon, Dream Girl Ellie & Leeroy Shogun

Komander (w/Alex Abrahantes) vs Griff Garrison (w/Cole Karter, Jacked Jameson & Preston Vance)

Komander was accompanied to the ring by Alex Abrahantes and Garrison was accompanied by a teddy bear mascot and three human bottles of baby oil in board shorts.

Garrison was cocky of the top, playing to the crowd and mocking Komander. Komander battled back thorugh and Garrison bailed from the ring. When he got back in, Komander hit a series of headscissor takedowns and sent him to the barricade. Komander went to dive out after him, but Garrison thew Abrahantes in the way and Komander had to pull back.

Garrison took advantage and sent Komander into the barricades before sending him back into the ring for a headbutt. He bodyslammed Komander and took a moment to mock him a bit more. Garrison delivered a European uppercut and that seemed to wake up Kommander who threw a flurry of hands at Garrison.

Kmander went too close to the ropes and Vance punched him about it, sending him back to Garrison who threw Komander out on the other side of the ring. Karter and Jameson were waiting and laid a beating into Komander along with Bernard the Business Bear.

Garrison thew Komander back into the ring and threw him with a big suplex before playing to the crowd a bit more. Garrison went for another one but Komander reversed it and laid some kicks into his gut followed by a backstabber.

Komander hit a running Spanish Fly that looked amazing and got a two count off the landing. He went up for a 450, but took too long and Garrison moved. He went for a facebreaker, but Komander countered and went for a spingboard. Garrison caught him comgin down with a big punch and pendulum facebuster, but Komander kicked out at two.

Garrison lifted Komander up for a torture rack, but Komander flipped out of it and tried another springboard, but Garrison caught him and turned it into a torture rack slam for another two count.

Garrison went for a discus forearm, but Komander caught him with a kick. Komander went up top, but Vance pulled him down. Komander grabbed him and sent him up the ramp with a wristlock takeover. He ran back to the ring to be whipped to the corner by Garrison.

Komander used his momentum to leap over the rope and take out the extra members of the Frat House. Everyone brales for a bit and then Komander got a springboard DDT on Garrison in the ring. Komander hit his springboard 450 and pinned Garrison for the win.

Match Result: Komander defeated Griff Garrison

Interesting night of wrestling! The matches were fun this week with regulars like Angelico seeming to put a little extra newness into their work. Fun main event and next week it’s Bandido v Dorada 2, which should be incredible!

Ring of Honor TV live results: Shannon Moore debuts, Isla Dawn in trios action

Tonight’s Ring of Honor TV will feature a former WWE & WCW wrestler making his debut in addition to several other matches.

46-year-old Shannon Moore will take on Blake Christian as part of tonight’s show. Still active on the indies, the former WCW Hardcore Champion will look to make an impression.

After making her AEW debut in August, Isla Dawn returns to the Khan companies in her ROH debut alongside the Grizzled Young Veterans against opponents to be named.

Former MLW Tag Team Champions and ROH Six-Man Champion The Von Erichs will go heads-up against Griff Garrison & Kole Carter of the Frat House.

The aerial artist Sidney Akeem returns to ROH for the first time since last-December as he battles the veteran Alex Zayne.

Wheeler Yuta will look for his seventh straight ROH singles win as he takes on Oro.

The show is rounded out by Diamante vs. Aleah James.

**********

It’s Thursday night and you know what that means! Coming off of the real Thanksgiving weekend, it’s time to serve up a hot slice of Ring of Honor pie!

Sidney Akeem vs Alex Zayne

Akeem is a former Cirque De Soleil performer which is pretty cool. Zayne is very, very red. Also good, but somewhat different. Either way, both of these guys can fly so this should be fun.

Defying convention, the two locked up off the top. They spent a few minutes jumping over each other until Zayne started laying in some chops. Akeem backed up and they hit simultaneous dropkicks, then paused to admire one another.

Akeem hit a running post mule kick, but Zayne responded with a big boot. He threw a few elbows at Akeem, aiming to keep him off his feet. Zayne set Akeem up on the ropes and hit a summersault guillotine to knock him down.

Zayne wrapped Akeem’s leg around his and wrenched it and his wrist at the same time. Akeem fought out of it and sent Zayne to the ropes. Zayne anticipated it and when Akeem charged he hit him with a double knee.

Zayne fought back and hit a big crossbody from the top rope. He then hit a pumphandle elbow slam for a two count. Zayne got to his feet and paintbrushed Akeem before hitting a dropkick to his face. The two traded chops after that until Zayne sent Akeem to the corner for a ripcord hurricanrana.

Zayne went up top for a 450, but Akeem saw it coming and hit a spinning stunner to get the pin.

Match Result: Sidney Akeem defeated Alex Zayne

Perfectly cromulent match. It didn’t really do anything to show off either wrestler’s strengths and I don’t feel it advanced anyone closer to anything, but it wasn’t bad.

-Isla Dawn was interviewed in the back, but interrupted by Mark Sterling and the Premier Athletes. Sterling offered his services to Dawn who shut him down. GRV arrived and the two factions squared off, with the Athletes stepping back.

Mixed Six Person Tag Team Match: Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake & Zack Gibson) & Isla Dawn vs Carolina Cruz, Gabriel Aeros & Javi

I was genuinely bummed when Dawn’s WWE run came to an end, so it’s great to see her in action here. The Vets make a good team for her and their opponents are also wrestlers.

Drake started off with Javi who did have a size advantage, but Drake was too fast for him. Gibson tagged in and the two double teamed Javi with Gibson wrapping it up with a dropkick from the second rope.

Cruz tagged in which brought in Dawn. The two exchanged a technical series and then Dawn hit and over hand suplex. Cruz hit a backspring elbow but Dawn kicked out at two. Cruz put on a headlock, but Dawn powered out of it with a hard lariat followed by a side suplex.

Aeros tagged in and Dawn gave him a shot for good measure before Drake tagged in. Gibson joined him and threw him at Aeros, then threw Dawn at him for good measure. Gibson and Drake rand the ropes delivering kicks and shots to Javi and Aeros all over the ring.

Dawn grabbed Cruz and locked in a reverse headlock while the veterans hit a High/Low on Aeros to get the pin.

Match Result: Grizzled Young Veterans & Isla Dawn defeated Carolina Cruz, Gabriel Aeros & Javi

After the match, the Premier Athletes jumped the Veterans and Story Denali hit a massive chokeslam on Dawn, spoiling her debut.

Diamante vs Aleah James

This doesn’t mean anything, but the ROH ring announcer really sounds like Howard Finkle this week and it is nice to hear.

Anyway, Diamante likes nothing more than to hurt people and James would like for that not to happen. Diamante had control off the top with a headlock which James reversed. Diamante jumped out of it and punched her in the face.

Diamante grabbed James’ arm and wrenched her to the mat. James flipped out of it though and charged Diamante in the corner, but no one was home. Diamante dropped a big elbow and tried for a pin, but James kicked out at two.

The two traded shots until Diamante started working the arm and shoulder of James, twisting and pulling on it to drag her down to the mat. James started laying shots into Diamante’s midsection so Diamante threw her into the corner.

Diamante lined her up for a charge, but James got her knees up. She hit a crossbody and then a fisherwoman’s suplex for a two count. James tried for another, but Diamante threw her off and hit a German suplex.

Diamante rolled her up, and then hit a bridge suplex for the 1-2-3 and the win.

Match Result: Diamante defeated Aleah James

There is kind of a strange vibe in ROH tonight. The crowd hasn’t been super loud and the matches seem a half step slower. It might just be me, but it definitely feels a little different. We’ll see if that keeps up.

Wheeler Yuta (w/Marina Shafir) vs Oro

Yuta and his hair came through the crowd, with Shafir following, being her usual cheery self. Oro was already in the ring, which did not bode well for the Nigerian-born wrestler.

Yuta went for a wristlock off the top, but Oro kicked it away. Yuta drove Oro into the corner and repeatedly pie faced him until Oro got mad and punched him in the face. Yuta tried an Ankle lock next, but Oro had enough and chopped him.

Oro hit a few arm drags and a spinning headscissor. He threw Yuta to the ground and went for the pin, but Yuta kicked out and started the chopping. Oro gave as good as he got, sending Yuta to the mat. Yuta backdropped Oro out of the ring and into the waiting arms of Shafir who hit a suplex on him on the outside.

Yuta joined them and sent Oro into the barricade with an Irish whip. He tossed Oro back into the ring and hit a clothesline from the top turnbuckle for another two count. Yuta hit a suplex and went up top again to drop a big elbow for another two count.

Oro popped up, but Yuta cut him off, sending him into the corner. Oro hit an around the world from the top and went for a spingboard, but missed and Yuta was able to hit a (right) angle slam. He began jamming elbows into the sholder of Oro before putting on a headlock.

Shafir stared off into the middle distance on the outside.

Oro threw punches into Yuta’s stomach and laid in a series of suplexes. The third was too many though and Yuta broke the chain, just in time to get hit by a cartwheel kick from Oro. He went for the in, but Yuta kicked out.

Yuta hit a hurricanrana into an armbar, wrenching Oro’s arm. Yuta hit a bridge suplex followed by a cattle mutilation. Oro managed to swing his legs around and reach the ropes to break the hold.

Oro charged and Yuta laid him out with a lariat. He went up top, but Oro knocked him off the ringpost and dove after him. Oro threw him back in the ring and hit a facebuster, but only got a two count. Yuta raked the eyes and hit a high knee, knocking Oro cold and getting the pin.

Match Result: Wheeler Yuta defeated Oro

Blake Christian (w/Lee Johnson) vs Shannon Moore

It is genuinely exciting to see the last remaining member of Three Count in an ROH ring. Though he seems more in his Nu Metal phase these days. Christian, as the cranky-half half of the worst-named tag team ever, has been on a tear recently, but Moore looks honestly terrifying.

Christian lured Moore in with an insincere Code of Honor and kicked him in the gut. Moore threw him into the corner, but Christian laid him out with a kick. Every time Moore landed a blow, Christian kicked him about it.

Moore found his flow with a couple of arm drags and hit a spinning heel kick. A back elbow staggered Christian and Moore hit a cross body for a two count.

Christian kicked Moore in the back of the head then sent him outside. Calling his shot, he went for a baseball slide, but Moore ducked and they fought on the outside until Johnson caused a distraction and Christian laid in a superkick.

Leaving Moore on the outside, Christian got back into the ring and shot a screwdriver dive at Moore before throwing him into the barricade. Christian then spent a few minutes strutting on the barricade before throwing Moore back in.

Christian stomped Moore’s knees from a half-surfboard position and hit a quick suplex off the ropes. Christian charged Moore in the corner, but Moore dodged and went up top for a corkscrew moonsault for a two count.

Moore started powering up, but Christian beat him to the top turnbuckle and headscissored him off. Moore charged, but Christian hit a powerslam that would make Dustin Rhodes proud. He sent Moore to the ring apron and Moore kicked him off and delivered a spingboard moonsault of his own.

Moore tossed Christian back into the ring and went up top. He hit a rolling neckbreaker from the top rope, but Christian kicked out at two. Johnson got up on the ring apron to distract the ref and Christian hit Moore right in the three counts with a low blow.

He locked in Vanilla Choke Zero and Moore was forced to tap out.

Somewhere, Tank Abbott wept.

Match Result: Blake Christian defeated Shannon Moore

-Next, a QTV segment aired that featured QT Marshall and Aaron Solo getting beaten up by the Don Callis family, with Callis himself laying in the final shot. Harley Cameron was also there, but left before the Callis family arrived, remaining safe and the best thing going today.

The Von Erichs (Marshall von Erich & Ross von Erich) vs The Frat House (Cole Karter & Griff Garrison) (w/Jacked Jameson & Preston Vance)

The Von Erich’s are looking to avenge their first-ever ROH tag team loss and the Frat House are looking to continue being Glacier-less jerks. Either way, no matter the outcome, the Frat House pledged to consume alcohol.

Three people in the crowd chanted for the Frat House while Ross and Karter kicked things off. Marshall came in for an early double team, but Karter fought out of it and tagged in Garrison. Garrison threw some forearms at Marshall, but Marshall responded with a lariat and tagged in Ross.

After a quick doiuble team, Marshall hit a standing Moonsault and Jameson got up on the apron to cause a distraction. Garrison tried to jump Ross from behind, but it was Vance who pulled Ross out for some shots. He tossed him back in and Garrison dragged him to the Frat House corner for Karter to tag in.

Karter isolated Ross in the corner and he and Garrison tagged in and out to take advantage. Garrison remained legal and sent Ross into the corner with a ring-shaking Irish whip. Garrison then put on a chin lock, but Ross elbowed his way out of it.

Vance pulled Marshall off the ring apron so that there was no one for Ross to tag and Garrison and Karter went for a double team. Ross wriggled enough that they ran into each other and got the hot tag to Marshall.

Marshall cleaned house, splashing Karter and Garrison in the corners. He sent Garrison out with a very high dropkick, but Karter caught him with a knee out of nowhere. Karter started punching Marshall and hjit a suplex. He went up top, but Ross shoved him off the turnbuckle.

Marshall laid Garrison out with a lariat and tagged in Ross. They knocked Vance and Jameson out, then locked stereo Iron Claws in on Garrison and Karter. One of them tapped out and the Von Erichs were declared the winners.

Match Result: The Von Erichs defeated The Frat House

And with that, the show was over. Not a bad one, but definitely felt a little off. See you next week!

Former WWE champion debuts on AEW Collision

Former WWE and NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion Isla Dawn made her AEW debut as part of Saturday’s Collision from her hometown of Glasgow, Scotland.

Dawn was the opponent for Megan Bayne, but fell in defeat rather quickly, getting pinned after a flying lariat and running Liger bomb.

As of this writing, AEW head Tony Khan has not announced whether the 31-year-old has been signed to a contract. She was not part of an eight-woman tag team match announced for the Zero Hour portion of Sunday’s Forbidden Door pay-per-view which developed after the match.

Dawn, a former WWE Women’s & NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion, was rumored at one point to be headed to AEW after being seen backstage. After seven years in the company, she was released by WWE this past February with Saturday’s debut being just her second match since her final WWE match, also in February.

Bayne has now won six straight singles matches after losing to AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm at April’s Dynasty.

AEW Collision live results: Forbidden Door go-home show

The final stop before Sunday’s AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door has arrived with tonight’s AEW Collision from Glasgow, Scotland.

The featured bout will see former AEW World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks against Paragon’s Roderick Strong & Kyle O’Reilly in a clash of longtime foes.

Before he challenges TNT Champion Kyle Fletcher on Sunday, Hiromu Takahashi teams with Scorpio Sky and Top Flight against Don Callis Family members Lance Archer, Rocky Romero, Josh Alexander and Hechicero.

NJPW G1 35 winner Konosuke Takeshita will go one-on-one with Tomohiro Ishii while Megan Bayne takes on a mystery opponent.

Willow Nightingale & Queen Aminata will take on Skye Blue & Julia Hart while the Grizzled Young Veterans meet the Gates of Agony in separate tag team matches.

A Max Caster open challenge, and Big Bill vs. the debuting Mark Andrews rounds out the main card.

**********

Don Callis opened the show to a chorus of boos. Callis speaks terrible Spanish to welcome Hechicero, which is always funny.

The Don Callis Family (Hechicero, Josh Alexander, Rocky Romero, & Lance Archer) (w/ Don Callis) vs. Sky Flight (Scorpio Sky, Darius Martin, & Dante Martin) (w/ Christopher Daniels) & Hiromu Takahashi

Takahashi and Alexander started the match, and that is a singles match I would love to see down the line. Rocky Romero came in and was dropkicked into Alexander, and then Takahashi hit a basement dropkick to Alexander and tagged out to Sky. Sky eventually tagged out to Darius Martin, who got worked over by Hechicero for a little bit, but tagged out to Dante Martin, who unfortunately got tossed across the ring by Lance Archer.

The Don Callis family spent the next few minute working over Martin as they went to commercial break. Dante Martin dodged a corner charge and countered a chokeslam from Archer into a hurricanrana before managing to tag out to Scorpio Sky, who hit a sitout spinebuster on Romero. Sky did a dragon sleeper on Romero, but Hechicero broke it up. Hechicero pulled Sky into his feet allowing Alexander to hit a DDT and Archer to do an electric chair drop on Archer for a 2-count. Takahashi hit a superkick on Alexander and tried to leap frog Hechicero, but he caught the leg and tripped up Takahashi.

The fans really liked Hechicero here, chanting his name, and even booing a little when Top Flight hit a combo dropkick and German suplex on him. Archer was held in a stalling suplex by Top Flight, which was a cool spot. Sky hit a TKO on Romero, who rolled to the floor, and Top Flight and Sky then hit stereo dives onto the rest of the Don Callis Family while Takahashi hit Romero with a Time Bomb for the win.

Result: Sky Flight & Hiromu Takahashi

–Kyle Fletcher came out and posed on the ramp, as Hiromu Takehashi looked on.

–Renee Paquette recapped the stories of all the participants challenging Mercedes Mone for the TBS Championship.

Megan Bayne (w/ Penelope Ford) vs. Isla Dawn

The crowd loved Dawn, as she made her AEW debut, but sadly, I do not think this will go well for her. She had some brief offence against Bayne, but Bayne overpowered Dawn, hitting several bodyslams. Bayne hit a butterfly suplex and started mocking Dawn, but Dawn blocked a powerbomb attempt and hit a throat thrust and several forearms. Bayne missed a corner splash, and Dawn hit a kick in the corner and a running knee, followed by a second running knee for a 1-count. Bayne quickly powered back up and hit a running Liger bomb for the pinfall.

Result: Megan Bayne

–As Bayne and Ford were leaving, Willow Nightingale’s theme hit, to the delight of the fans and anger of Bayne and Ford.

Willow Nightingale & Queen Aminata vs. Triangle of Madness (Skye Blue & Julia Hart)

Nightingale started the match with Hart, hitting several lariats in the corner before pulling Hart out of the corner and hitting another for a 2-count. Triangle of Madness got the advantage after isolating Aminata with illegal tactics, as they went to an ad break. When the came back, Willow Nightingale was hitting a spinebuster on Hart for a 2-count.

Nightingale hit a clothesline that dropped both Hart and Blue and taggged out to Aminata who hit a series of suplexes on Blue, but Blue countered one with some forearms. Aminata picked Blue up in an inverted suplex, ran across the ring, and hit an inverted Air Raid Crash for a 2-count. Aminata hit a twist and shout on Blue, and it broke down to all four women hitting big moves and crashing to the mat.

Hart and Blue did stereo octopus stretches, but Aminata and Nightingale backed into each other, driving Blue and Hart into each other before Aminata hit Off With Her Head and pinned Blue for the win.

Result: Willow Nightingale & Queen Aminata

–Thekla ran down and attacked Aminata, and Nightingale made the save. Soon, Penelope Ford and Megan Bayne came down and the 5 on two beat down started, but Harley Cameron returned and ran down to the ring to make the save. Unfortunately, the numbers were still too high, and Bayne threw Cameron across the ring, but Kris Statlander made the save.

–Daniel Garcia cut a promo about Nigel McGuinness’ match with Zack Sabre Jr.

Max Caster vs. Zack Sabre Jr.

Sabre immediately started tearing Caster apart to the delight of the fans, getting an incredible reaction from the audience. The fans did start to chant for Max Caster, as he looked at Nigel McGuinness and asked “What do I do?!” There are worst people to ask, especially as McGuiness will face Caster this weekend. Caster went for a hip toss, but Sabre locked on a Cobra Twist for the submission win.

Result: Zack Sabre Jr.

–Nigel McGuinness and Sabre faced off at the commentary desk, as the battle of the two best British technical wrestlers of the last 20 years face off.

–Anthony Bowens ran down to the ring, attacking Max Caster from behind, solidifying a heel turn for Bowens, and Billy Gunn ran down to try and break the fight apart. Bowens and Gunn clearly had tension as they walked away.

–Harley Cameron and Kris Statlander were talking backstage about how Statlander had not gotten the $100,000 promised to her for winning the 4-way, but it kept coming back as “insufficient funds” as it was supposed to come out of the Young Bucks salary. Cameron went into the Male Extras locker room, came back out a few seconds later, and the Bucks promised to pay her next week. Statlander said that was what happened last week.

The Death Riders walked up and silently surrounded Cameron and Statlander and Moxley entered the locker room and walked out with a purse full of money for Statlander. It seems Moxley is trying to recruit her very hard and openly now.

Konosuke Takeshita (w/ Don Callis) vs. Tomohiro Ishii

Takeshita got a massive superstar reaction, and the fans already loved Ishii, so they were very into this match. Both men started exchanging forearms right away to the delight of the crowd. They went to break after Takeshtia hit a dive on Ishii. When they came back Ishii hit a gigantic superplex on Takeshita, and soon enough both men were hitting forearms again. Takeshita hit an inverted piledriver into a wheelbarrow suplex and a running knee, but Ishii blocked the knee, picked Takeshita up, and hit a massive powerbomb for a 2-count.

Takeshita countered a lariat with a blue thunder bomb for two, and Ishii again refused to give in, getting up and hitting a lariat that turned Takeshita inside out. Takeshita recovered and hit a poisonrana, which Ishii no sold, and Ishii hit a German Suplex, but Takeshita landed on his feet, and both men hit knees and enziguris before Takeshita hit one last knee and both men went down.

Ishii hit a massive headbutt and collapsed, and Takeshita hit a running knee for a 2-count. Takeshita got up and hit the falcon arrow for the pinfall victory. This match was awesome.

Result: Konosuke Takeshita

Big Bill (w/ Bryan Keith) vs. Mark Andrews

Poor Mark Andrews got murdered by Big Bill, and even if he had Flash Morgan Webster to help him, it would not have worked based on this match. The crowd loved Bill and everything he did here, so insult to injury for Andrews. Andrews had some brief offence but was killed with a black hole slam from Bill for the win.

Result: Big Bill

–Bryan Keith brought two chairs in the ring and set them up and Big Bill chokeslammed Andrews through them to the delight of the fans.

The Gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona) (w/ Ricochet) vs. The Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake & Zack Gibson)

GYV is a team AEW needs to do more with, because they are great. That day was not today. The Gates of Agony did give GYV a lot in the early portion of the match, but was distracted by Ricochet who said blatantly from the announce desk that he was going to cheat, allowing Kaun to beat Drake up on the floor.

Gibson dodged a corner charge from Liona, leading to James Drake going coast to coast and hitting a dropkick on Liona while Gibson hit a lung blower on Kaun. Liona was a difference maker after hitting a pounce on Drake and sending him to the floor before hitting Open the Gates on Gibson for the win.

Result: Gates of Agony

GYV made the most of their time in this match, with Gates of Agony giving them tons to help them get over. This was a good match.

–Gabe Kidd was backstage with Bullet Club War Dogs, saying that he brought them in to make the most money because everyone else was taking food of their tables. Clark Connors challenged The Opps for the AEW Trios championship at Forbidden Door. Looks like we’ll be having Bullet Club present, trying to take over in AEW for this PPV.

The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) vs. The Paragon (Kyle O’Reilly & Roderick Strong)

Seeing the Bucks in the ring with Strong and O’Reilly again brings so much joy to my ROH fan heart. Nick Jackson tried to break up a double team from Strong and O’Reilly, but tripped on the middle rope, face planted, sold his face, rolled to the floor, kicked the announce desk, hurting his foot, and kicking the guard rail with his other foot in frustration, only to hurt that one too. I was laughing so hard at this point that this match could do anything, including just randomly stop and go off the air, and I’d be happy.

Strong threw Matt Jackson around the ring, and Nick Jackson cut him off, but accidentally moonsaulted onto his brother. Nick Jackson hit a kick on Roddy on the floor and a double team senton on Strong in the ring before catching O’Reilly on his rebound lariat and hitting an indytaker on the floor.

Kyle O’Reilly hit a dragon screw on one Buck while the other was holding his brother’s leg, and ended up hitting them both. O’Reilly locked a guillotine on Matt Jackson, who lifted him and hit a series of rolling Northern Lights suplexes, and hit one on Strong and O’Reilly both. Nick Jackson hit a corkscrew moonsault to the floor on Strong, seeming to knee him directly in the back of the head. Hopefully Strong isn’t hurt.

The Bucks went for the TK Driver on O’Reilly, but Strong caught Nick Jackson with a flying knee and hit a high-low on Matt Jackson before Strong hit End of Heartache on Nick Jackson and O’Reilly locked an ankle lock on Matt Jackson. Don Callis ran down to the ring to distract the referee, allowing Kazuchika Okada to run in and hit a rainmaker on O’Reilly. The Bucks superkicked Strong and hit the TK Driver on O’Reilly for the win.

Result: The Young Bucks

–The Bucks & Okada beat on Paragon, but Swerve Strickland made his way down to the ring with a dancing Prince Nana. Swerve took out the Bucks and was about to hit the House Call on Nick Jackson, but Okada took out the knee of Swerve and began hitting tearing him apart as Don Callis called for a sugar hold, which popped me. Okada nailed Swerve with a rainmaker and the Bucks posed with Okada as the show went off the air.

Final Thoughts

This was a good episode of Collision with an even better crowd, and it closed with a great angle featuring one of the main event matches of the Forbidden Door PPV with Swerve and Okada. It seems like the injury Swerve is working through is going to play a role in the match with Okada attacking the knee. I hope Swerve doesn’t need to take time off the same time Ospreay needs to, but whatever it takes to get them both healthy.

Report: Former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion expected to join AEW

Former WWE & NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion Isla Dawn may be on her way to becoming #AllElite.

Wrestlevotes reported on Thursday that the 31-year-old Scotland native was recently backstage at an AEW event and the expectation is she will start with the company in the near future.

After signing with WWE in 2018, Dawn was released in February 2025. After starting with the NXT UK brand, she made her way to the United States in October 2022 with NXT. She and Alba Fyre won the NXT Women’s Tag Team titles, losing them less than three months later to then-WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler in a June 2023 unification bout.

She remained on the main roster from that point forward with she and Fyre winning the WWE Women’s tag titles at June 2024’s Clash at the Castle, losing them to Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair at August 2024’s Bash in Berlin.

Dawn hasn’t been in the ring since a February WWE Speed bout against Shotzi Blackheart.

Isla Dawn says she’s ‘not dead yet’ after WWE release

Isla Dawn is telling her fans not to grieve for her, as she’s “not dead yet.”

Dawn was part of the latest round of WWE roster cuts on February 7, which also included Sonya Deville, Cedric Alexander, Blair Davenport, and others.

On Saturday, she posted a video on social media, hinting at what’s next for her career.

She says in the video:

“One of the sad facts of life is that you won’t hear all the good things that people have to say about you until you’re gone. Everyone bottles up their emotions only to pour them over your lifeless frame when it is just… a little too late. ‘Oh my god, I’m gonna miss her! Oh my god, she… was a champion. She was a star! She did not deserve this!'”

Dawn framed her release as a revival rather than an ending.

“Did I deserve this? No. But I did need it. I was bleeding out and this was the pressure in the gauze. I was crashing. This is the thing that revived me. My heart stopped on the table but someone down there sent me back up knowing that it wasn’t quite my time. The white witch is gone. The unholy enchantress buried in the grave. Two-time tag team champion, ashes in an urn. But don’t grieve for me. Isla Dawn’s not dead yet.”

Shortly after her release, Dawn posted the date May 9, 2025, implying she will be available to take bookings beginning then.

Dawn debuted for WWE in November 2017, losing to Asuka in a squash match. She later competed in the 2018 Mae Young Classic before becoming a regular in NXT UK. In 2021, she teamed with Alba Fyre to form The Unholy Union and was drafted to SmackDown in 2023. Her final WWE match, a loss to Shotzi on Speed, was taped on February 7—the day before her release was confirmed.

Isla Dawn seemingly confirms WWE exit: ‘See you in 90’

Isla Dawn appears to be finished with WWE, adding to the recent wave of departures that included Sonya Deville, the Authors of Pain, Cedric Alexander, Paul Ellering, and Blair Davenport.

On Saturday, the former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion posted an image to her Instagram Stories with the caption, “Here for a good time, not a long time.” She added, “See you in 90,” likely referencing a 90-day no-compete clause.

Dawn’s final match for WWE took place at the January 27 taping of Main Event, where she lost to Natalya. Before that, she and Alba Fyre were defeated by Jakara Jackson and Lash Legend of Meta Four in a number one contenders match on the January 14 episode of NXT.

Dawn made her WWE debut in November 2017, competing in a squash match against Asuka. She later participated in the 2018 Mae Young Classic before becoming a regular in NXT UK. Teaming with Fyre, she formed The Unholy Union in 2021, and the duo was drafted to SmackDown in 2023.

Her biggest accomplishment in WWE came at Clash at the Castle in Glasgow last summer, where she and Fyre won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship in a triple threat match against Jade Cargill & Bianca Belair and Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark.

Women’s Tag Team titles change hands at WWE Clash at the Castle

Clash at the Castle was a successful homecoming for Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn.

The Scottish duo picked up a big victory at Saturday’s event in Glasgow, winning a triple threat match for the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles. Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill were the champions heading into Clash at the Castle, but neither took the pin. Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark also competed in the match.

As Cargill was going for a pin on Baszler, Dawn swooped in and gave Cargill a German suplex. Fyre then held Belair back as Dawn pinned Baszler to win the titles.

It was an emotional moment after the match as Fyre & Dawn celebrated with their loved ones at ringside and were presented with flowers.

The moment comes less than a month after Fyre (Kayleigh Rae) lost her mother. Bridgeen Mitchell, 51, passed away when she was struck by a car while in Florida visiting her daughter. Fyre’s father was also hit by the car but survived.

On social media, Paul “Triple H” Levesque congratulated Fyre & Dawn on their “massive, statement-making hometown victory.”

This is the first main roster title reign for Fyre & Dawn, though they once held the NXT Women’s Tag Team titles. Fyre is also a former NXT UK Women’s Champion.

WWE Main Event results: Pete Dunne vs. Dijak

This week’s WWE Main Event was taped at the EnMarket Arena in Savannah, Georgia before Monday’s episode of Raw.

Isla Dawn & Alba Fyre defeated Kayden Carter & Katana Chance (5:05)

This was fine and had a good finish. Dawn and Fyre look better each time they tag and it made sense that they got the win here.

They built the match around Carter getting a hot tag before they made things unbalanced in the end to get the win.

Carter came in all guns blazing and she got a two count on Dawn so that Fyre had to break it up and make a save. Dawn then took out Chance to leave Carter outnumbered.

Dawn and Fyre did a cool finisher on Carter where they kind of hoisted her up and nailed her with a double-team DDT/Flatliner combo. Road Dogg wasn’t sure what it was either, but it looked pretty good to me.

Pete Dunne defeated Dijak (7:10)

This was really strong in the last few minutes as these two delivered a really good match by Main Event standards.

This was the first outing for Dijak on this show under his new moniker. His last match here was back in September 2022 when he was working as T-Bar. As he has attested many times, he did not enjoy that gimmick.

Dunne worked a tag match a few weeks ago with Tyler Bate, but his last solo bout on Main Event was actually against T-Bar in January 2022. This time round it was a vastly superior match, despite it having the same outcome.

The early going was mostly Dunne but they went to a break a few minutes in as Dijak caught Dunne with a big boot as he came off the top rope.

The second half was all about Dunne mounting a comeback and when he did it was pretty fun. He used a cool snap German for two and then locked in a choke.

Dijak powered out with a sit-out powerbomb for a near fall of his own. The crowd was into it by this point and they started to trade superkicks and big boots.

It took a counter and a small package for Dunne to get the win, but I kind of hope that they do it all again next week as it could have gone either way and the crowd was left pumped to see Raw.

WWE NXT live results: Women’s Tag Team title match

With the WWE Draft now over, changes are coming to NXT.

NXT Women’s Champion Indi Hartwell, NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn, Apollo Crews, JD McDonagh, Zoey Stark, Von Wagner, Pretty Deadly, Katana Chance & Kayden Carter, Cameron Grimes, Grayson Waller, Indus Sher, Odyssey Jones, and Xyon Quinn are all moving on from NXT after being included in the draft.

The new WWE rosters will take effect after this weekend’s Backlash pay-per-view.

Before both teams depart NXT, Fyre & Dawn will defend their Women’s Tag Team titles against Chance & Carter tonight.

McDonagh is also set for his final NXT match. He issued an open challenge that was accepted by Dragon Lee.

A North American Championship match with Wes Lee defending against Drew Gulak has been announced for tonight. The show is also set to feature a grudge match between Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne, Joe Gacy vs. Joe Coffey, Axiom vs. Scrypts, and the debut of Dani Palmer.

Our live coverage starts at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

**********

The show begins with a recap of the recent draft, where a group of NXT wrestlers join the main roster on either Raw or Smackdown.

NXT North American Champion Wes Lee (with Tyler Bate) defeated Drew Gulak (with Charlie Dempsey) to retain his title

Lee pinned Gulak in a match that was just getting good when they went home. All they needed was more time.

Dempsey got involved early on by distracting Lee, which allowed Gulak to get a near fall. Lee soon fought back, and they tease a superplex. Instead, Lee flips backwards off the top rope and rolls through, only to get met by a flying lariat off the top. Gulk then grounds Lee on the mat.

Moments later, a slugfest gives way to a comeback by Lee. He goes on to fly through the ropes with a tope. Dempsey interferes again by pulling Lee off the apron. Bate leaps in to make the save as he springs off the ring steps with a flying uppercut.

For the finish, Lee jumps back into the ring to deliver his Cardiac Kick. Gulak then takes the fall as Lee covers him for a three count.

A video package recaps an angle from last week on NXT television where Bron Breakker speared NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes through a gimmicked wall in a stunt.

NXT Tag Team Champions Isla Dawn & Alba Fyre are using a Ouija board to for a promo about their title defense later tonight.

Trick Williams is heading to the ring for a monologue. Williams talked about being friends with Hayes since high school. Williams goes on to say he took a spear for Hayes last week (which he did before the stunt where Hayes is speared through the wall). Williams says he would do it again.

Williams mentions Bron Breakker’s name, and out comes Breakker to interrupt. This will set up a match between Williams and Breakker on the go-home show ahead of NXT Battleground. Breakker confronts Williams in the ring. Williams asks if Breakker is accepting Hayes’ challenge for a title match at Battleground. Breakker not only accepts, he talks about how he will embarrass Hayes in Hayes’ hometown in front of his friends and family.

Breakker goes to leave, but Williams says not so fast. Williams challenges Breakker to a match, and Williams to fight right here and now. Breakker heels on him and books the match for next week.

JD McDonagh in being interviewed by McKenzie Mitchell when Noam Dar interrupts to ask if McDonagh would injury Dragon Lee. Dar wants to protect his Heritage Cup, but McDonagh threatens to take it from Dar if he does not leave McDonagh alone.

Jacy Jayne defeated Gigi Dolan

Jayne pinned Dolan, and a bloody Jayne also attacked Dolan again after the match. Jayne was busted open just before they went home.

Dolan’s little brother, Miles, is watching from the front row. Jayne taunts him during the match, and Dolan embraces him later in the match. He also has to watch Jayne assault his sister after the match.

A cover on the actual turnbuckle itself is removed during the match, and it comes into play for the finish. Jayne smashed Dolan into the exposed turnbuckle, and Jayne follows up with a pump kick. She then covers Dolan for a pinfall.

Jayne delivers another pump kick after the bell, and she attacks Dolan for a post-match beatdown. Jayne smashed Dolan into the ring steps, she puts the boot to her, and Jayne taunts Dolan’s brother.

Axiom defeated Scrypts

Axiom pinned and unmasked Scrypts in a match that was short but good. Scrypts is Reggie.

Lot of flying and high spots, but they also told a little story. The epilogue to that story includes Scrypts being unmasked by Axiom after the match. Scrypts was dominating early on when Axiom fought from underneath.

Scrypts leaps off the top rope, and Axiom cuts him down with a kick. Golden Ratio by Axiom a second later, and Axiom covers Scrypts for a pinfall. Axiom is then unmasked after the match.

A skit in Fallon Henley’s bar shows Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen are best buds again, and the band is back together. Women hit on Jensen, and Henley remarks that Jensen is all grown up. Too bad his character barely evolved aside from no longer being a virgin. Women are attracted to him now according to this skit, so there is that. Good for him.

JD McDonagh defeated Dragon Lee

McDonagh pinned Lee, in what was billed was McDonagh’s last match in NXT. They had a banger. Noam Dar interfered just before the finish. Dar and Dragon Lee brawled after the match.

Hard-hitting match went through a commercial break, as a match on this show is finally given enough time this week. Because of that, this became the best match on the show so far tonight. McDonagh is working over Lee when the show returns from the break.

Dragon Lee makes a comeback, setting up a tope con hilo. Lee then leaps off the top with a double foot stomp for a near fall. That double stomp is common in a Dragon Lee match, but I was somewhat surprised to see that in WWE as its Finn Balor’s finisher.

McDonagh later cuts off Dragon Lee, and McDonagh gives Dragon Lee a Spicolli Driver on the ring apron. That led to them teasing a countout, but Lee barely breaks the count to continue the match. Lee with a second comeback gives McDonagh a snap dragon and a poison rana. McDonagh cuts off Lee again, turning Lee for a flip with a lariat.

They trade strikes down the home stretch. Liger bomb by Dragon Lee for another near fall. They fight while perched on the turnbuckles, setting up a Spanish Fly where McDonagh gets the upper hand. McDonagh then delivers a brainbuster for a the closest and best near fall of the match.

Canadian Destroyer spikes McDonagh, and McDonagh rolls out of the ring. Lee goes to retrieve McDonagh, and Noam Dar interferes with Lee. So, Lee drops Dar with a superkick. However, the distraction was enough to cost Lee the match. McDonagh head butts Lee, and then comes The Devil Inside suplex. McDonagh then covers Dragon Lee for a three count.

Joe Gacy (with The Schism) defeated Joe Coffey (with Gallus)

Gacy pinned Coffey in a battle of the Joes, thanks in large part to interference by The Schism.

The Dyad interfere at ringside when Rip Fowler puts Gacy’s foot on the rope to break a count. Mark Coffey and Wolfgang then chase The Dyad around ringside, and the two teams brawl.

Amidst the melee at ringside, Ava jumps into the ring like she is about the jump Coffey. He turns around to confront her, and Ava does an Eddie Guerrero phantom bump acting like Coffey hit her. That distraction allowed Gacy to execute his Upside Down clothesline finisher, and he covers Coffey for a pinfall.

Dani Palmer defeated Tatum Paxley

Palmer pinned Paxley after an Art Bar frog splash. Palmer wins in her “debut” match on NXT television, and she was pushed strong.

Andre Chase is not in class to teach his class, after he was written off the show last week in a loss against Bron Breakker. Thea Hail is freaking out about what to do about Mr. Chase, and Duke Hudson has an idea. He will teach the class, and his first order under his leadership is to rip up the pop quiz.

Von Wagner and Mr. Stone are looking at Wagner’s family photo album. They discuss some pictures of Wagner father (Wayne Bloom) in a tag match at SummerSlam inside Wembley Stadium. That was ironic given that tickets for AEW in that same stadium went on sale today.

Wagner gets angry and shuts down when Stone sees a childhood pic of Wagner with stitches on his head. Wagner does not want to discuss it, much to Stone’s dismay. Stone continues to want Wagner to open up to him, but Wagner is reluctant. No sure where this is going, but it at least give Wagner’s character some depth.

NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Isla Dawn & Alba Fyre  defeated Kayden Carter & Katana Chance to retain the titles

Dawn pins Chance to win the match. The champs retain on their way out of NXT. What happens to the titles is anyone’s guess, so the champs are heading to Smackdown.

This match goes through a split-screen commercial break. Chance & Carter are on a roll until the show returns from the break. Soon thereafter, Chance is cut off and she is briefly worked over. Chance makes her own comeback, and she tags Carter so they can execute their tandem finisher for a near fall. Moments later, Carter & Chance use a Spanish Fly for another near fall.

As they go home, Chance & Carter again attempt their tandem finisher, but they are thwarted. Dawn & Fyre then execute a tandem finisher of their own, and Dawn covers Chance to win the match and retain the titles. The announcers on commentary sell it like the women’s tag title are headed to Smackdown.

Dijak in a pre-taped montage issues a dire warning to Ilja Dragunov.

Apollo Crews, who is headed back to the main roster, offers Trick Williams some encouraging words.

Indi Hartwell vacates the NXT Women’s Championship

NXT Women’s Champion Indi Hartwell heads to the ring to address the audience. Hartwell is walking with a crutch and the title belt draped over her shoulder. Her right foot is in a walking cast. She reflects on her time in NXT, and she talks about getting drafted to the main roster.

Hartwell also announces that next week a tournament begins to crown a new NXT Women’s Champion, which culminates in four weeks at Battleground. Hartwell vacates the title. She kisses the belt before laying it in the center of the ring.

Hartwell jokes that now she has to figure out how to get out of the ring (since she is walking with a crutch). Dexter Lumis pops out from underneath the ring, and he carries Hartwell backstage with her in his arms. There are smiles and thumbs up a plenty between the two as this ends like a rom-com, if a rom-com ended with a wild brawl.

Tiffany Stratton suddenly appears in the ring. She picks up the title belt, and in comes Cora Jade. They are having a tug-of-war with the belt when a bunch of women on the NXT roster run in for a big brawl. The show ends with bedlam as the women brawl in the ring. The ending reminds me of a go-home show for the Royal Rumble, but its only May.

Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn had ‘no idea’ they’d be drafted to WWE SmackDown

Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn had no idea they were going to be called up to the main roster.

The current NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions were selected by SmackDown on the first night of the WWE Draft on Friday. They spoke with Busted Open Radio on Monday about the experience.

“I’ve been saying it for days, I still don’t feel like it’s quite settled in yet,” Fyre said. “We had no idea, no idea that we were going be drafted.”

“As you could tell by our eyeballs going [opening wide],” Dawn added.

“But it means so much. We’ve both worked really, really hard for this for a long time. Getting things like this, you know you’re being appreciated. It just means the world,” Fyre continued.

“The timing of it, with Stand & Deliver being a month ago and that was our second TV tag match. We’ve only been together a short time,” Dawn said.

Fyre & Dawn feuded with each other in December and January on NXT programming. Their program culminated in an Extreme Resolution match on the January 3 episode. They began teaming with each other the following month on house shows and defeated Fallon Henley and Kiana James for the belts at Stand & Deliver.

Fyre & Dawn have one more match left in NXT before joining the SmackDown roster. They will defend their tag titles against Katana Chance and Kayden Carter on Tuesday night.

Multiple NXT champions called up in WWE Draft

Night one of the WWE Draft saw multiple champions from NXT get called up to the main roster.

NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn were drafted to SmackDown on Friday night, while NXT Women’s Champion Indi Hartwell was drafted to Raw. They were the only wrestlers from NXT selected on night one of the draft.

Fyre & Dawn and Hartwell each won their titles at NXT Stand & Deliver earlier this month.

Before heading to SmackDown, Fyre & Dawn will defend their titles against Katana Chance & Kayden Carter on NXT this coming Tuesday (May 2). There was a segment on tonight’s SmackDown where Chance & Carter confronted Fyre & Dawn after it was announced that Fyre & Dawn had been drafted.

Fyre (the former Kay Lee Ray) and Dawn are both from Scotland and formerly wrestled for NXT UK.

Hartwell retained her NXT Women’s Championship by defeating Roxanne Perez and Tiffany Stratton in a triple threat match at NXT Spring Breakin’ this past Tuesday. Hartwell suffered a legitimate ankle injury during the match but was able to return and retain her title.

The full list of picks from night one of the WWE Draft can be found here.

The draft will continue with night two taking place on Monday’s episode of Raw. WWE has stated that “select” wrestlers from NXT are eligible to be drafted.
