The Ring of Honor World Championship is set to be defended in Impact Wrestling for the first time ever.
It was announced today that ROH World Champion Jonathan Gresham will put his title on the line against Chris Sabin at next month’s Impact Wrestling Hard to Kill pay-per-view. The PPV is being held at The Factory in Deep Ellum in Dallas on Saturday, January 8.
Earlier this month, Gresham became ROH World Champion by defeating Jay Lethal at ROH’s “End of an Era” Final Battle PPV. Gresham was originally supposed to challenge Bandido for the title at the show, but Bandido was pulled from the card due to testing positive for COVID-19. The ROH World title was declared vacant with Bandido unable to wrestle at Final Battle.
Gresham’s first title defense took place at GCW’s Blood on the Hills last Friday. He defeated AJ Gray in a Pure Rules match.
Gresham is also scheduled to defend the ROH World Championship against Blake Christian at The Wrld on GCW in New York City on Sunday, January 23. That show is GCW’s Hammerstein Ballroom debut.
With ROH going on hiatus for the first quarter of 2022, Final Battle and the post-Final Battle edition of ROH Week By Week featured tribute videos from members of the AEW and Impact Wrestling rosters who used to wrestle for ROH. Impact’s Moose, Eddie Edwards, and Jimmy Jacobs were among those who sent videos. Moose will defend his Impact World Championship against Matt Cardona and W. Morrissey in a triple threat match at Hard to Kill.
It’s also been announced that Knockouts Tag Team Champions The IInspiration (Cassie Lee & Jessica McKay) will defend their titles against The Influence (Madison Rayne & Tenille Dashwood) at Hard to Kill. The updated card for the PPV is listed below:
Impact World Champion Moose defends against Matt Cardona and W. Morrissey in a triple threat match
Texas Death Match: Impact Knockouts Champion Mickie James defends against Deonna Purrazzo
Ultimate X match for a future Knockouts Championship shot: Lady Frost vs. Rosemary vs. Jordynne Grace vs. Tasha Steelz vs. Chelsea Green vs. Rachael Ellering
Impact Knockouts Tag Team Champions The IInspiration (Cassie Lee & Jessica McKay) defend against The Influence (Madison Rayne & Tenille Dashwood)
ROH World Champion Jonathan Gresham defends against Chris Sabin
Josh Alexander vs. Jonah
Hardcore War 10-man tag match: Violent By Design (Eric Young, Joe Doering & Deaner) & The Good Brothers (Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows) vs. Eddie Edwards, Rich Swann, Willie Mack, Heath & Rhino
Attempting to get a measure of revenge for being fired, Don Callis has assembled Impact World Champion Kenny Omega and the Good Brothers for a six-man tag team match against Sami Callihan, Moose and Chris Sabin, put together by Tommy Dreamer after Callis suggested the idea.
The match will be a preview for the July Slammiversary clash between Omega and Callihan for Omega’s title in addition to Moose vs. Sabin.
Thursday’s show will also feature Eddie Edwards vs. Satoshi Kojima one week after the two failed to wrest the Tag Team Titles away from Violent By Design; Chris Bey vs. Petey Williams in a match between former X-Division Champions; and TJP and Fallah Bahh vs. Rich Swann and Willie Mack.
A week after she defeated Susan, Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo will take on Kimber Lee in a non-title match on the BTI pre-show as the feud between the former stablemates rages on.
Our live coverage begins at 8 PM Eastern.

Opening video recapped Don Callis and Tommy Dreamer setting up tonightâs main event between Omega and the Good Brothers vs Callihan, Moose, and Sabin. Also, Edwards and Kojima challenged for the tag team titles last week, which ended with Edwards asking Kojima for a singles match, only to get confronted by W. Morrissey.
Show was going to open with Edwards vs Kojima, but before Edwards could come out, W. Morrissey appeared on the screen and said that Edwards was not going to make it to the match tonight. Morrissey said that everyone respected Edwards, but no one had his back when he jumped him in the parking lot.
Instead of Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers and Sam Beale came out. Myers talked trash to Kojima and ended up attacking him 2-on-1 until Jake Something came down for the save. Referee came out with word from management that a tag match was now official.
Satoshi Kojima & Jake Something defeated Brian Myers & Sam Beale
Match started as a brawl outside the ring, when Kojima and Something brought back Myers and Beale after they tried to leave to the back.
Once in the ring, Something got cut off by Myers and Beale, worked on for most of the match, they kept tagging in and out, never letting go of Something. It was until Something managed to hit a desperation double clothesline that he got a short breather, enough to tag Kojima in.
Kojima took out Myers, hit the machine gun chops on Beale, the top rope elbow, DDT, but as he was about to hit the Koji cutter, he got cut off by Myers. Something hit a blackhole slam on Myers, allowing Kojima to hit the Koji cutter and lariato for the win.
I take it Kojima either didnât understand Morrissey, or he just wasnât all that concerned about Edwards getting jumped outside the building. This should be his final night with Impact, so he probably didnât care much about Edwards.
– Gia Miller interviewed DâAmore about Anthemâs decision to have Dreamer as their representative to oversee operations. He didnât say much before Rosemary and Havok appeared before them and claimed that they had wins over Fire ân Flava and wanted to challenge for the Knockouts tag titles. DâAmore didnât make it official, but he was going to consider it if they kept the magic to a minimum.
– Dâlo Brown and Josh Matthews ran down tonightâs card.
Rachael Ellering (with Jazz) defeated Tenille Dashwood (with Kaleb with a K)
For weeks, Dashwood has been a thorn in Elleringâs shoe, she worsened the rift between Jordynne Grace and Ellering, and after weeks of polite rejections, Ellering finally had enough of Dashwood and challenged her to a match.
The action was back and forward early on, but as Ellering started to gain momentum, Kaleb was there to distract her and allowed Dashwood to cut her off and turned things around.
Dashwood had control for a long while, she kept going for pin attempts, but Ellering kept kicking out regardless of what Dashwood would throw at her. It wasnât until Dashwood distracted herself taking a photo, that Ellering caught her with a running swinging neckbreaker and was able to cut off the momentum. Kaleb tried to interfere and give Dashwood control again, but Ellering got rid of him, blocked a sunset flip from Dashwood, and rolled her down for the pin win.
Dashwood and Kaleb ganged up on Ellering and later Jazz when Jazz tried to save Ellering. Grace ran down and helped clear the ring. Ellering offered a handshake, but Grace instead hugged her for the reconciliation. I was surprised they didnât milk the dissension more.
– Miller interviewed Chris Bey about being a neutral party in the gang war that is happening in the X Division. Bey said that he was out there for himself only. Austin, Raju, Shera, and Fulton came down, and while Bey thought they would try to recruit them, they told Bey they didnât need him, but appreciated he wasnât getting in the way. The Chris Bey babyface turn is coming.
Rich Swann & Willie Mack vs TJP & Fallah Bahh ended in no contest.
While not official, this match came about as a friendly challenge between each team, as they both have eyed the tag team championships, currently in the hands of Violent By Design.
This was a fun match. It started with some stalemates between both teams, some high flying moves from Swann, but suddenly, Violent By Design ran down and attacked both teams. Rhino gored Mack, Deaner hit the Deaner DDT on TJP, Doering hit a DVD on Swann, and both teams were left laying as VBD posed over their bodies.
This surely has to set up a 3-way tag match for Slammiversary.
– Backstage, Hogan and Steelz argued that Havok and Rosemary shouldnât be allowed to just jump in and ask for a title challenge, they should work from the bottom to earn their spot. They went looking for DâAmore, and as usual, as means to get rid of Steelz and Hogan, DâAmore just booked a match where Havok and Rosemary can earn their shot. Hogan and Steelz are too good.
– Miller interviewed Dreamer and his team for tonightâs match and whether everyone is on the same page. Dreamer told them that they all had the same enemy and they needed to work together. Sabin said that he was there for Dreamer and Impact, and was willing to work with the team for it. Moose told them that he doesnât care about anyone, all he cares about is winning. Callihan said that all that matters is beating up Omega and company.
Chris Bey defeated Petey Williams
Similar to Beyâs issues with Austin and Raju, he also has issues with Petey Williams and Trey Miguel, as they also hoped heâd join them to confront Austin and Raju, and instead, Bey left them for dead.
Great fast paced back and forward match. Williams got a couple of bear falls early on, but momentum quickly turned when Bey caught him with a scissors kick between the ropes. The match finally slowed down when Bey locked leg scissors on Williams, but he reversed the lock. Williams came back with a big German, running knees, but when he went for the Canadian destroyer, Bey blocked and hit a TKO version neckbreaker. Bey went for the art of finesse, but was countered into a Russian side leg sweep. Williams once again chased the destroyer, but was blocked and instead locked in the sharpshooter for another near fall.
Finish finally came after Bey blocked yet another destroyer, hit a cutter and the art of finesse for the win.
These two will meet again on Slammiversary in the Ultimate X match for the D Division title.
After the match, Ace Austin, Rohit Raju, Shera, and Fulton all came out. They attacked Williams while Austin and Raju teased Bey to not get involved. Bey was leaving to the back when Miguel and Josh Alexander ran down to save Williams. The numbers game was too much though, but Bey eventually had a change of heart and ran down to help attack Austin and friends. All the babyfaces took out Raju and Austin and controlled the ring. All the babyfaces accepted Bey to their side.
– Backstage, Susan and Kimber Lee plotted that their plans had failed and they had hit rock bottom. Lee tried to convince Susan that they should chase the titles, and if everything else fails, thereâs always Su Yung as a backup plan. Susan didnât know who Su Yung was.
– Jake Something cut a promo about not being the man he was before, he was strong and it didnât matter what his name was, because he did the talking in the ring. He challenged Brian Myers to a match and if he wins, Myers must call him âprofessionalâ.
Steve Maclin defeated Manny Smith
Maclin debuted a couple of weeks ago, this being only his second match.
This was a squash match through and through, and while it was somewhat longer than usual, Maclin never lost control. Maclin got a headlock early on and kept it for a while, hit an olympic slam, a couple of lariats, a spear to a Smith on the tree of woe, and finally, a German and elbows before hitting his signature Michinoku driver II-B for the win.
Team Callis (Kenny Omega, Karl Anderson, & Doc Gallows) (with Don Callis) defeated Team Dreamer (Sami Callihan, Chris Sabin, & Moose) (with Tommy Dreamer)
Two weeks ago, Dreamer, on behalf of Anthem, fired Don Callis from his EVP position with Impact Wrestling. Last week, in a passive aggressive way, Callis challenged Dreamer to come up with a team to challenge his team of Omega and the Good Brothers.
Team Dreamer is a bit of turmoil, as Sabin and Moose are currently feuding and set to wrestle each other at Slammiversary, but also, neither man is on great terms with Callihan, who has always been the antagonist.
The dissension between Moose and Sabin quickly came up, and so Callihan decided to tag in first and deal with the match himself. He managed to maintain control throughout the break, working ok with Sabin, but once again, Sabin and Moose started tagging each other the hard way, and it was through these distractions, that Anderson was able to cut off Sabin and turned things around.
Omega and the Brothers mostly worked over Sabin with quick tags, a couple of triple team moves, constantly going for the head with strikes and chokes. Sabin at one point managed to escape and jump for the hot tag, but Moose didnât extend the hand, so instead Callihan had to jump in for the hot tag.
Callihan was going for the package piledriver on Anderson, but Omega distracted the referee to allow Anderson to low blow Callihan and force him to tag in Sabin again. Sabin did keep down Omega and company, but now Moose blind tagged himself in, cut off Sabinâs momentum, and when Sabin complained, Moose instead tagged himself out via chokeslam on Sabin.
Outside the ring, Dreamer complained to Moose about turning on them, but because Callis pushed Dreamer into Moose without them noticing, Moose thought that Dreamer had attacked and so attacked back.
Back in the ring, without Moose and Callihan, Sabin was an easy prey for Omega and the Good Brothers to finish and pin for the win.
Omega and company celebrated in the ring as the show went off the air.
Big Cass appeared on tonightâs Impact Rebellion event under a new name, filling in for Eric Young.
Cass appeared at Rebellion under the name W. Morrissey. He replaced Eric Young in a match where he teamed up with the rest of Violent by Design (Joe Doering, Rhino, and Deaner) to take on James Storm, Chris Sabin, Willie Mack, and Eddie Edwards. Morrisey picked up the win for his team, pinning Mack after hitting the East River Crossing. After the match, Morrissey continued to attack Mack as the rest of Violent by Design posed on the entrance ramp.
Right before the match, Young said in a backstage segment he was injured and unable to compete tonight. He told someone off-camera that they were not ready for the truth, or to join Violent by Design, but they were ready for the opportunity to show who they are.
Cass has been making appearances in the independent scene since February. He had disappeared from pro wrestling following an altercation at a WrestlePro show in September 2019 where he was kicked out of the building after an altercation with Joey Janela backstage.
Ahead of this Saturday’s No Surrender, the tag team titles will be on the line on tonight’s edition of Impact Wrestling.
The Good Brothers will defend the belts against Chris Sabin and James Storm with Private Party awaiting the winner this Saturday on Impact Plus. Sabin and Storm made the challenge last week to Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson which got accepted for tonight.
Tonight’s show will also feature the contract signing for Impact World Champion Rich Swann vs. Tommy Dreamer ahead of their match Saturday.
Also in action Tuesday: Trey Miguel, Josh Alexander, Willie Mack & Suicide vs. Chris Bey, Ace Austin, Blake Christian & Daivari ahead of the first-ever triple threat revolver match Saturday; the returning ODB vs. Kimber Lee; Kiera Hogan vs. Nevaeh; and Cousin Jake giving an answer to Eric Young’s invitation to join his Violent By Design group.
Our coverage kicks off at 8 PM Eastern.
* * * * * * * * * *
Opening video recapped the ongoing feuds between VBD and Cousin Jake, Sami Callihan and Trey Miguel, and last weekâs main event where Moose and Chris Bey defeated Tommy Dreamer and Rich Swann.
Josh Alexander, Suicide, Willie Mack, & Trey Miguel defeated Shawn Daivari, Chris Bey, Blake Christian, & Ace Austin (with Madman Fulton)
This match is a preview of No Surrenderâs triple threat revolver match, where these eight men will be participating.
Match saw Josh Alexander and company dominate early on, pairing up, one-by-one with someone from the other team. It wasnât until it came down to Daivari and Mack, that the former cut off Mack and the heel team got control of the ring. Mack was an interesting choice for babyface in peril, having Suicide there.
Trey Miguel got the hot tag against Christian for a great fast paced sequence. Every man started to take turns on doing spots, leading to Alexander locking in an ankle lock on Austin, with Christian breaking it up with a springboard 450, but causing dissension in the team after Austin accused him of going for his leg. After a couple of spots from Suicide, taking out Bey and Austin, it came down to Miguel and Christian again, with the latter getting a good near fall, but Miguel recovered and locked in what Striker called an hour glass submission for the win.
After the match, Callihan interrupted with a video on the screen. Callihan said that he looks great when everything goes his way, but itâs just a matter of time before he fails again and flakes on the company again.
Trey Miguel has the momentum to win the revolver match, but the Callihan factor is likely to cost him the match on Saturday.
– We got a video of present and past wrestlers wishing the best for Dreamer on his 50th birthday. Weird to see this here, but it was a nice video.
– Dâlo Brown and Matt Striker ran down tonightâs card.
Kimber Lee (with Deonna Purrazzo & Susan) defeated ODB
ODB returned last week to aid Jazz and Jordynne Grace as they were being ganged up by Purrazzo and company. ODB said that sheâd be sticking around for a while.
ODB dominated from the get go with a chop exchange. Lee did at one point cut off ODBâs momentum, but she was never in full control, ODB kept blocking and getting shots in on Lee. It was a matter of minutes that ODB made a full comeback, hit the bronco buster, the dirty 12, and a chest press for a near fall.
Finish saw Purrazzo and Susan interfere, and so Jazz and Grace ran down for the save, but throughout the distraction, Kimber Lee recovered, played possum, and got ODB with a small package for the win.
ODB looked good, this wasnât a match that would have exposed her, Lee is quite good at working any level of pace, and thus made ODB look good. This seems to be headed to a 6-woman match.
– Over at Swingerâs Paradise, Fallah Bahh is trying to play blackjack by betting a cookie. Finally, it was revealed that Swinger had Hernandezâ money roll, right before Bahh got kicked out and Swinger did some comedy with Alisha Edwards. This was bad as usual.
– Backstage, Susan complained to Purrazzo and Lee about the chaos out there. Purrazzo and Lee were happy for the win, telling Susan to not worry about them, but Susan was angry and wanted to talk to the manager, she said heâd go ask DâAmore for a 6-Knockouts match for No Surrender. Purrazzo expressed that she was getting tired of Susan.
– Cousin Jake came out to the ring to address Eric Youngâs invitation to join Violent By Design. Jake said when he got here, he thought he had it all right, but now everything had been turned around on him and he had to make a choice.
EY, Joe Doering, and Cody Deaner walked out to join Jake in the ring. EY told Jake that he had time to think and that it seemed he was finally understanding what was going on here.
Jake teased joining by getting rid of his vest, but then threw EYâs invitation, said heâd stand for something, he stood for Jake Something, and attacked Deaner.
VBD teased Pillmanizing Somethingâs neck again, but Deaner stopped him because he wanted a match with him first. Deaner vs Something at No Surrender! Good angle, Jake Something, even in defeat, looked like a great babyface.
– Rohit Raju and Mahabali Shera cut a promo. Raju said that TJP couldnât beat him and had to rely on his monster, Manik, and thus Raju had done the same, and called upon his own monster, Shera.
– We got our weekly AEW commercial with Khan and Schiavone. They talked about KENTAâs debut attacking Jon Moxley. Khan talked about himself being the forbidden door and thanked IMPACT because it was them that made him realize he has the power to do whatever he wants if he opened his mind to it. Khan thanked Callis and Omega for opening his mind, and teased coming back to Nashville.
– Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows cut a promo backstage on Chris Sabin and James Storm, their challengers for tonightâs main event. They put them over as great wrestlers, but they were not as good as them. AMW, Beer Money, and the MCMGs had been great teams until the Good Brothers showed up. Good promos.
Ever since Fire n Flava won the titles, Havok and Nevaeh have been following and looking to get a rematch for the titles. Last week, Havok defeated Steelz, and now Neveah tries to make it 2 wins for the team.
Match was a similar formula as last week, with Neveah having some power advantage and control until the smaller Hogan cut her off with the aid of Steelz from the outside. Neveaeh quickly made a comeback, with quite an ugly looking slam, Hogan seemed like she landed on her side. She seemed ok.
Last couple of minutes, they traded some near falls, but to change things for once, the referee got distracted with Havok, giving Steelz the opening to attack Neveah, except the referee was able to see Steelz on his peripheral vision, and so he DQâd her.
With two singles wins over the champions, weâre either headed for the non-title tag match at No Surrender, or straight into the championship bout.
– We got more videos for Tommy Dreamer’s 50th birthday, but now from the wrestlers from AEW, including a great one from MJF and Jericho. Actually, most of them were about how old he was and some were surprised he had made it to 50.
– Hogan and Steelz complained to DâAmore about referee Tolle. Since they brought up that both of them lost, theyâll be defending the titles at No Surrender, but to make it fair, Tolle wonât be the referee during the match, and even if he was, it wonât matter, because it will be a No DQs match.
– XXXL, Tenille Dashwood, and Kaleb with a K came out to the ring to call out Decay about their match at No Surrender. Larry D and Romero explained that they wouldnât hit a woman and so Dashwood was out to join them.
Dashwood cut a great promo talking trash to Decay and that there is no way âTooth Decayâ will find a third member. Kaleb then challenged anyone in Decay for a match tonight.
Out came Rosemary and Crazzy Steve. Rosemary said they did indeed find a third member for the team, and so she introduced Black Taurus!
Black Taurus defeated Kaleb with a K
This was a hell of a squash, Taurus just ran over Kaleb like a freight train. Kaleb tried to cheat, to run, to counter, but Taurus just destroyed him in about 2 minutes with a spinning slam. Black Taurus is the perfect fit for Decay, I love the addition!
Itâll be Rosemary, Crazzy Steve, and Black Taurus vs XXXL & Tenille Dahwood at No Surrender.
– Backstage, Brian Myers paid off Hernandez for last weekâs bounty. Hernandez wanted more money since his singles match at No Surrender was now a tag team. After Myers walked away, we saw Fallah Bahh eye Hernandez and his newly earned money.
Impact Tag Team Champions The Good Brothers (Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows) defeated Chris Sabin & James Storm via DQ to retain the titles.
After Alex Shelley wasnât able to make it to Hard To Kill, Chris Sabin recluted the help of his former rival, now friend, James Storm. They made their intentions clear, that they wanted to chase the tag titles, that the MCMGs hadnât directly lost. The Good Brothers are scheduled to defend the titles against AEWâs Private Party at No Surrender, who were not happy that Sabin and Storm sneaked in a title shot before their shot, and have threatened to get involved tonight.
Match was your quintessential tag match, with the babyface having some opening momentum early on. They managed to cut off Anderson for a couple of minutes before Anderson had to rely on an eye rake on Sabin to finally change the momentum and cut the ring in half on Sabin.
As Sabin was in peril, Matt Hardy and Private Party walked out to watch the match from the ramp. The distraction ended up aiding Sabin, as he got away from Gallowâs hands and tag in Storm. After he ran wild for a bit, Storm and Sabin went for a pin, but Private Party ran in, nonchalantly in front of the referee and broke up the pin, with the intention of getting Sabin and Storm DQâd.
– Backstage, Hardy congratulated Private Party for showing who they are and not letting anyone step before them in line. Hardy hyped them for No Surrender. Scott DâAmore confronted them and told them they crossed the line, and because he now needs to make sure that Sabin and Storm donât interfere on Saturday, heâs adding them to the match to make it a 3-way tag team dance for the Impact tag titles. Matt Hardy was furious about the decision.
– Brown and Striker ran down the card for No Surrender. Including the 5 newly matches signed throughout this show.
– It was now time for the contract singing for the Dreamer vs Swann title match at No Surrender. Scott DâAmore officiated the process. Swann thanked quietly. Dreamer thanked Swann before signing because he was given the opportunity, even if he is the last man to deserve it in the locker room, he said he truly appreciated this because title matches didnât come often in his career. He put over Swann, but told him that he has a bad leg and he will go after it and will not hold back.
Before Dreamer could sign, Moose interrupted the contract signing, looking like a total badass. Moose said that the fact that the match was taking place had pissed him off because he had been promised a title shot. DâAmore threatened to suspend Moose if he interfered, but Moose explained that he doesnât care who wins, heâll beat whoever wins.
Finally, Dreamer got tired of being ignored and cut saying that heâll keep fighting for the industry and the locker room and being the champion will give him more power to do so, and that was the motivation to win the title. He signed the contract and shaked Swannâs hand. Moose just kinda walked away, but eyed Swann with a malicious smile on him.
AEW World champion Kenny Omega pinned Impact World champion Rich Swann during tonightâs Hard to Kill main event.
Omega pinned Swann in a six-man tag team match, with Omega teaming with The Good Brothers (Karl Anderson and Doc Gallow), while Swann teamed with Chris Sabin and Moose. The finish had Swann scoring nearfalls, one following a 450 splash, but Omega ended the match after cutting off Swann and pinning him with the One Winged Angel.
The match was originally scheduled to feature Swann teaming with the Motor City Machine Guns. However, it was announced on Friday that Alex Shelley would not be able to travel to Nashville for the show due to unavoidable circumstances. He said that he did not have COVID-19.
Omega has appeared on Impact Wrestling regularly since winning the AEW World Championship at AEW Winter is Coming on December 2, aligning himself with Impact Executive Vice President Don Callis.
Impact announced before their main event that their next pay-per-view, Rebellion, would take place on April 24.
Over a month after he made his debut on Impact Wrestling following his AEW World Championship victory, Kenny Omega will step into an Impact ring for the first time in the main event of Hard to Kill.
He will team with Impact Tag Team Champions and former Bullet Club teammates The Good Brothers to take on Impact World Champion Rich Swann, Moose and Chris Sabin in a six-man tag. Moose replaced Alex Shelley who was pulled from the card Friday because he couldn’t make it to Nashville.
In general, the pay-per-view has a little something for everyone as there will be three title matches including new Knockouts Tag Team Champions being crowned, a barbed wire massacre, and a match where Ethan Page will face his alter ego, The Karate Man.
Our live coverage kicks off at 7 p.m. Eastern time as Josh Alexander faces Brian Myers on the pre-show with the main card kicking off at 8 p.m. Eastern.

PRE-SHOW
Jon Burton, Madison Rayne, and Scott D’Amore are hosting the pre-show event.
We got a backstage segment with Kenny Omega, Don Callis, and the Good Brothers analyzing Moose’s introduction to the main event. Callis hinted putting Moose’s contract over his head, as a means to convince him to aid the Omega, Anderson, and Gallows team tonight.
We got a promo from Sami Callihan. He promised chaos and violence, and while everyone is talking about the main event right now, at the end, they’ll be talking about Barbed Wire Masscre IV.
Brian Myers defeated Josh Alexander
After the dissension between The North, Josh Alexander has been trying to find himself. Myers has been rising in the ranks, but also canât seem to get the opportunity he feels he has earned. A couple of weeks ago, Myers proposed that Alexander and him joined forces, but after Alexander rejected the idea, the two started a rivalry to show who is the better of the two. Myers has a win over Alexander, who is now trying to show that it was a fluke.
Match saw Myers control most of the match. Early in the match, Myers managed to throw Alexander off the top rope into the floor, and thus successfully cut him off. Alexander made a comeback by striking Myers off the ring and getting some time to recover. They traded a couple of near falls towards the end, including Myers pulling on Alexanderâs tights. Myers would end up winning by pulling down Alexanderâs headgear, blinding him, and delivering his lariat for the win. Good stuff from both men, they got a good amount of time.
Myers is now 2-0 against Alexander, so at this point a tag team between the two seems less likely.
Impact has added fake crowd noise to the broadcast. Itâs taking me off since it has been months, but Iâm hoping Iâll be accustomed to it by the end of the show.
Ace Austin and Madman Fulton joined the analysis table. He talked about his rise to the top in the last two years, and that 2021 will be no different, being the Super X Cup winner only two weeks in on the year. Austin said that he should be in tonightâs card, but isnât.
Madison Rayne announced her retirement from wrestling.

Matt Striker & D’lo Brown are debuting as the new commentary team.
Opening video recapped the Omega & Good Brothers vs Swann & MCMGs feud, including replacing Alex Shelley with Moose and Swann’s issues with it.
Decay (Rosemary & Crazzy Steve) defeated Tenille Dashwood & Kaleb with a K
Decay reunited on the last Impact episode before the pay per view, when Crazzy Steve came out to counter Kaleb while Rosemary and Dashwood wrestled. Dashwood and Kaleb had been messing with Rosemary about her being left behind now that Taya was focused on the title again.
Story of the match was that Kaleb was a doofus of a wrestler, but a cheating doofus that would cheat as a means for Dashwood to get the upper hand on Rosemary. It would be Dashwood and Kalebâs overconfidence that would end up costing them the control they had over Rosemary, as they went for the whazzap headbutt that would give Rosemary the opening to counter and tag in Steve. Later on, when they managed to cut off Steve for a couple of minutes, he too got the time to counter them when Dashwood and Kaleb stopped to take selfies.
Finish Steve and Rosemary hit Dashwood and Kaleb with the green mist respectively, leading to Steve hitting the second rope DDT for the win. Ok match, Kaleb and Crazzy Steve had a good performance.
– Striker and Brown ran down tonight’s card.
Violent By Design (Eric Young, Joe Doering, & Deaner) defeated Tommy Dreamer, Rhino, & Cousin Jake in an Old School Rules Match
Young and Doering have been roughing up people for weeks now, Rhino and the Deaners some of their victims. When it seemed like they could get the upper hand, Cody Deaner turned on his cousin and joined EYâs group. Dreamer joined the trio when he came to the aid of Rhino and Cousin Jake after a beating from EYâs group, and ended making the challenge for Hard To Kill.
Violent By Design are all wearing matching gear.
Early on, the match built to the Deaner vs Cousin Jake confrontation, and the Rhino vs Doering one. After some minutes brawling outside the ring, Doering confronted all three babyfaces, wielding chairs, and while he took some damage, Doering was able to bring down all babyfaces, building him as a monster. His match-long story was that no one could get him off his feet, not even with dives, it would take a Gore from Rhino to finally do it.
Towards the end, all men took turns at each other, starting with Dreamer dropping EY on thumbtacks, but after everyone had their turn, it would be Young that would drop Cousin Jake with a piledriver for the win. This was pretty good, Joe Doering is amazing.
During this match, they would occasionally cut to a tri-screen look, either showing three different angles of a spot, or just each of the pair ups in this match.
– We got a segment with Swann and Sabin meeting Moose. Swann told Moose that he didn’t trust him, he said that it should be Willie Mack instead, but Moose had injured him. Moose explained that he hates them both, but when it comes to Impact, he bleeds Impact and he won’t allow any outside to come in and disrespect them promotion. Moose was amazing, total babyface.
Fire & Flava (Kiera Hogan & Tasha Steelz) defeated Havok & Nevaeh in the Knockouts Tag Team Championship Tournament Finals
Weâve finally reached the finals of the tournament. Havok and Nevaeh defeated Dashwood & Alisha Edwards and the team of Jordynne Grace & Jazz on their path to the finals. On the other hand, Hogan & Steelz defeated the Sea Stars and the team of Rosemary and Taya Valkyrie to make it to the finals.
This was a power vs speed match. Havok and Nevaeh dominated early on, it wasnât until Hogan and Steelz managed to double team Havok behind the refereeâs back, that they managed to cut her off. It was a bit weird seeing Havok become the babyface in peril, but it helped that Hogan and Steelz are constantly moving, constant attacks, and quick tags, and at the end, it all made sense when she made her comeback and got the tag to Nevaeh. Finish would come a couple of minutes later when Hogan pinned Nevaeh while Steelz held off Havok outside the ring.
There was a spot that seemed to be a tower of doom spot, but instead, Havok turned it into a double powerbomb on both Hogan and Steelz.
The right team won, even in disadvantage, the tag team work between Hogan and Steelz was far superior. This is Hogan and Steelzâ first championships in the promotion.
Gail Kim and Madison Rayne, former tag champs, came out to crown the new champions.
Brian Hebner made his return to the promotion in this match.
– Backstage, Decay approached Taya about backing her in tonightâs match. Taya asked them to stay behind because she wanted to do this by herself.
– Ace Austin and Madman Fulton came out to cut a promo. Austin said that it was a waste of his time to only have him talking in the pre-show, so instead told D’Amore to add him to the X Division match tonight, as he was the rightful winner of the Super X Cup. D’Amore came out and gave him another match instead.
Matt Cardona defeated Ace Austin (with Madman Fulton) by DQ
Matt Cardona is making his Impact debut tonight.
This was a fast paced match, back and forward, but quite short. It all built to Cardona getting close to finishing up Austin before Fulton interfered and attacked Cardona for the DQ. After the match, Cardona cleared the ring.
X Division Champion Manik defeated Chris Bey and Rohit Raju to retain the title
TJP (Manikâs real identity), Bey, and Raju have been feuding for a couple of months for the X Division title, theyâve traded the title a couple of times before. The story comes down to TJP having to mask himself as Manik in order to challenge Raju and win the title, and now Bey and Raju, as they chase the title, are focused on trying to unmask him.
This was awesome. Commentary sold this perfectly, explaining that this was a brawler vs technician vs flyer match. Raju and Bey never pretended to be on the same side, theyâve worked together against TJP before, but have never been friends. The story of the match instead was Bey and Raju racing each other to get their hands on Manik, which led to some great 3 person spots. A great spot saw Manik go for a mamba splash on Raju, but get caught midair by a springboard cutter from Bey.
The match built to Raju finally unmasking Manik, but underneath the mask, was a face painted TJP, that commentary pretended not to recognize.
At the end, all three men traded near falls, constantly stealing them from each other. They had a throwback to how Raju once stole the title from both men. It would be Manik that would get the win with a snap pin on Raju after he had done the work on Bey.
– Backstage, Alisha Edwards pleaded to Eddie to let her be out there with him. Eddie forbade her, he had to do this alone and couldn’t risk having her out there, knowing what Callihan and Shamrock are willing to do. Alisha promised she wouldn’t go out there.
Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo (with Kimber Lee & Susan) defeated Taya Valkyrie (with Decay) to retain the title.
After Taya and Rosemary eliminated the team of Purrazzo and Lee from the Knockouts Tag Team Tournament, Purrazzo decided to go after Taya. Purrazzo is out to show that she is the greatest Knockouts Champion by defeating the longest reigning champion in the beltâs history. Taya is on her path to reclaiming such title.
The match, really early on, broke down into a brawl with Rosemary and Kimber Lee wrestling each other outside the ring, Crazzy Steve and Susan arguing, and so the referee sent everyone to the back, leaving only the wrestlers.
Once everything was under control in the ring, Purrazzo cut off Taya and started working on her left arm, as is her usual mode of operation. Yet, this time around, Purrazzo started targeting Tayaâs leg too, she would lock in the arm, and pull the leg for a half Boston crab.
In return, Tayaâs game was mostly based on striking and big slams or suplexes that could cut off Purrazzoâs offense. The damage was enough though, that when she went for an early road to Valhalla, her knee buckled, so she had to change her offense to submissions or moves like the curb stomp that wouldnât require putting weight on her knee.
Finish would come soon after Tayaâs comeback when Purrazzo hit a Mistica, brought down Taya with the Fujiwara armbar, and finally locked Venus de Milo for the verbal submission. Really good, but not long enough.
Taya cried in the ring after the match.
– We got a comedy skit with Acey Romero and John E. Bravo about the whole shooting thing that I thought had been forgotten. Romero discovered that Larry D had been framed by one of the Knockouts.
Karate Man defeated Ethan Page
The story behind this is that Page had a mental breakdown when he and Alexander couldnât regain the tag team titles after losing them to the Good Brothers. Suddenly, we were introduced to Pageâs alter ego, Karate Man, who heâll now wrestle.
This was nothing, just Ethan Page doing a bunch of kicks and punches like 1992 Mortal Kombat, including Karate Man ripping Page’s heart out. This was terrible, they broke up The North for this.
For anyone that has never been into cinematic matches or the Undead Realm, donât watch this. This was Ethan Page figuring out how to use a green screen and double exposure. If anything else, this was the break that the Impact team needed to set up Barbed Wire Massacre.
– Don Callis met with Moose. Callis put Moose over and brought up his contract saying they have a big future together, but that it will be terrible if something happens with Omega tonight and they get sued and they canât keep contractual obligations. Moose told Callis that no matter who he teams with, he plays to win. Once he is done with Omega, heâll win Swannâs title, and maybe heâll show up on AEW and take Omegaâs title too. Total babyface!
Eddie Edwards defeated Sami Callihan in Barbed Wire Massacre IV
This feud goes back years and many violent battles. It all rekindled after Edwards backed up Swann after Callihan and Shamrock had made attempts to capture the World title, and thus Callihan once again went after Edwards, his wife, and the eye he once legit injured. This blood feud has reached a level of intensity that not many feuds in Impact history have reached, and that is the famed Barbed Wire Massacre, this being only the 4th installment of such stipulation.
Ring is surrounded by barbed wire, barbed wire weapons, one side of the ring has a cage wall wrapped in barbed wire, bringing me back to old CZW.
Story of the match was that Edwards was wrestling angry and hot headed, and that led him to wreckless risks that the calmer Callihan would take advantage of. Edwards was playing in Callihanâs sandbox, and if he wanted to win, had to either turn this into a wrestling match, or go down to Callihanâs level.
This got bloody really early, it was a couple of minutes that Edwards wrapped barbed wire around Callihanâs forehead to cut him up. Edwards was busted open a couple of minutes later when he went for a tope suicida and Callihan caught him with a barbed wire board that he crashed through.
The brawl continued with both men trading control, utilizing some of the weapons around the ring. Callihan used an N64 controller wrapped in barbed wired, while Edwards used a chair, also wrapped in barbed wire. At one point, both men tried to make this a Taipei Deathmatch, by wrapping their fists in barbed wire.
There was a cool spot where Edwards and Callihan had their hands on each otherâs signature weapons, which they decided to trade before going at it. A small glimpse of respect between the two.
Towards the end, we got some big near falls, one where Callihan hit a piledriver from the second rope into a barbed wire board bed. We had a callback to the eye accident but wrapped in barbed wire, only for Edwards to block it with a low blow, hit the BKP and the Emerald Flowsion for the win. This was great, it was brutal and bloody.
After the match, Alisha came out to help Eddie to the back.
– Rebellion pay per view takes place on April 24th.
AEW World Champion Kenny Omega & the Impact Tag Team Champions The Good Brothers (Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows) (with Don Callis) defeated Impact World Champion Rich Swann, Self-Proclaimed TNA World Champion Moose, and Chris Sabin
This was originally supposed to be Swann and the Motor City Machine Guns, but at the last minute, Shelley announced that he would not be able to travel to Nashville for the match, and thus Impact offices have replaced him with Moose, who is the no. 1 contender to Swannâs World title.
The story here goes back to December when Kenny Omega won the AEW World title thanks to the aid of Impactâs EVP Don Callis. The next week, Omega made his first appearance as the champion on an Impact show, and immediately got to work, befriending his former Bullet Club mates, Anderson and Gallows, but also antagonized the Impact World Champion — Rich Swann.
Moose looks like a million dollars tonight. Good Brothers and Omega came out with Bullet Club gear, they pointed to the logo on several occasions. Don Callis made Omegaâs special introduction.
Match had an interesting layout. Both Sabin and Swann had babyface in peril runs, but in between each, the Impact team would have crazy babyface comebacks with all men running wild with dives and triple team moves.
Storyline wise, mostly everything was said before the match, but they made the point that in the Omega and Good Brothers team, only Omega was going for pins, like if the Good Brothers were doing the work for Omega; whereas for the Impact team, all men got near falls on Kenny Omega on different occasions.
It was until the end that the match came down to Swann and Omega. Swann had some great near falls hitting the 450, but at the end, it was Omega hitting the One Winged Angel on Swann for the win. Great match, 100% delivered, Moose was the MVP if you ask me.
The AEW World Champion just pinned the Impact World Champion.
A new match has been announced for Impact on Tuesday.
The company announced on social media that Karl Anderson would be facing one half of the Motor City Machine Guns, Chris Sabin.
âFirst time ever vs. @SuperChrisSabin. Tomorrow night 8 pm EST #IMPACTonAXSTV @IMPACTWRESTLING #TheMachineGunIsBack.â Anderson wrote on Twitter.
The match comes following a segment that aired during Final Resolution between Anderson, Don Callis, and Kenny Omega. Anderson met Omega in his private bus and reminisced about their days in the Bullet Club. Omega inspired Anderson to bring back the âMachine Gunâ of old, citing his finals performance against Kazuchika Okada at the G1 Climax tournament back in 2012.
Anderson proceeded to defeat Ethan Page in a singles match later on in the show. The storyline had been that Page had injured Gallows, putting him out of action for 4-5 weeks. If Page had won, The North would have received a Tag Team title match.
The Good Brothers won the titles back at Turning Point on November 14, defeating The North.
After returning at Slammiversary, the Motor City Machine Guns became Tag Team Champions on last night’s episode of Impact.
Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin defeated The North (Josh Alexander & Ethan Page) to win the Impact Tag Team titles, ending The North’s year-plus long reign as champions. This is the second time that the Motor City Machine Guns have been Tag Team Champions in Impact Wrestling/TNA. Their first reign with the titles began in 2010.
The fallout from Slammiversary also included the return of EC3, Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson’s Impact TV arrival, Eddie Edwards’ first appearance as new Impact World Champion, and an X-Division title rematch between Chris Bey and Willie Mack.
The Motor City Machine Guns reformed tonight at Slammiversary, making their Impact return.
Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley answered The Rascalz open challenge that had been built over the course of the last several weeks on Impact. The two teams had a back and forth match, with the MCMG picking up the win with a double team maneuver.
The match was the first for Sabin since January 2019, when he was sidelined with a torn ACL while working for Ring of Honor.
Sabin and Shelley have not teamed together since 2018, when they faced The Young Bucks and Roppongi 3K in a three way match at ROH/NJPW War of the Worlds 2018. They started as a team back in 2006 for Zero1-Max, but soon started teaming together in Impact, where they are former Tag Team champions.
Tonightâs Slammiversary event has been hyped with promises of appearances from former Impact stars. Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson have been announced for the show, as well as a âformer world championâ.
