The Undertaker reveals what he told Bray Wyatt at WWE Raw 30

The Undertaker has revealed what he whispered to Bray Wyatt at WWE Raw 30.

Taker spoke with Sportsnet on Wednesday to promote his upcoming one-man show in Montreal and was asked about his segment with Wyatt from the January 23 episode. He shared that he told Wyatt he is always able to come to him for advice.

Taker said:

I just let him know too that my phone’s always on and if he needs to talk to me about things or run things by me, that’s cool. I would be more than glad to share my experiences with him and hopefully shine some light on questions that he has moving forward.

It was a cool moment and it did exactly what I thought it would do.

Earlier in the conversation, Taker was asked if he watches the current WWE product and responded that he’s always following what Wyatt is doing. He also praised the Bloodline angle with Sami Zayn.

I still watch the product. Obviously, it’s kind of a no-brainer, I’m watching what Bray does. The Bloodline story is just phenomenal. Obviously, being in Montreal, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention Sami Zayn and the job that he’s done in that story. That Bloodline and Sami Zayn story is so compelling, it’s so well done.

That’s what we do at our best, is we ‘story tell.’

Taker also spoke about him and Wyatt both having characters in the supernatural “genre.”

There’s obviously a huge amount of comparisons between his character and mine. I think you know he’s his own guy, he’s his own character. I don’t think it’s fair to him to compare what he does to what I did. In the big scheme of things, obviously, it’s in that same supernatural, I don’t know what, genre.

It’s 2023 and he’s doing his own thing but I can appreciate [and] I can see what he’s trying to do.

The Deadman also revealed that Bruce Prichard gave him the idea of doing a one-man show after his Hall of Fame acceptance speech last year. His show then debuted Friday, July 29, 2022, from the Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville ahead of WWE SummerSlam. Further shows took place in Cardiff, Wales ahead of Clash at the Castle, in Philadelphia ahead of Extreme Rules, in Boston before Survivor Series, and last month in San Antonio ahead of the Royal Rumble.

Bray Wyatt says he’s reminded of Brodie Lee ‘every single day’

Bray Wyatt has opened up on the impact Brodie Lee’s passing has had on him.

Wyatt was a guest on an episode of Out of Character released on Friday. During the conversation, Wyatt spoke about having lost multiple friends in recent years and the difficulty he’s had dealing with Brodie’s death.

Wyatt said:

There was just so much going on. It was out of nowhere, you know? I wasn’t prepared for any of that. I lost my childhood best friend, I lost Brodie, I lost my best friend from college, Mark.

It was something that I think I didn’t deal with very well. I think Brodie’s wife Amanda dealt with it and the kids dealt with it better than me and Rowan did. There’s something there that reminds me of him every single day. That time period was such a conundrum for me. I wasn’t myself and it took me a while to kind of remember what makes me me. It was a long journey, man, but it’s led me here into this moment and this is the best I’ve ever felt.

Brodie Lee passed away at 41 years old on December 26, 2020, from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. He had been a member of the Wyatt Family along with Bray from 2012 to 2014 and again from 2015 to 2017.

Later in the show, Wyatt spoke about the Uncle Howdy character and teased that there is more to him than fans have seen.

Wyatt said:

Uncle Howdy and Bray and all these things, these are all real. They are based on moments and things that have really happened. The Uncle Howdy, there is so much more to it than you think. It’s not just so cut and dry, spooky man in the background, there’s more to it. There’s complexities that you haven’t gotten to see yet. There’s things that I don’t understand about it and that’s the beauty of it is it’s going to grow organically but the story of it I don’t even think has been told yet. Once you understand what it really is and where it came from in my childhood and who Howdy really is, it’s much deeper than you think it is, than you would perceive it to be.

Wyatt will face LA Knight in a Mountain Dew Pitch Black match Saturday at the Royal Rumble. While it will be his first match on WWE programming since WrestleMania 37, it will be his fifth since returning to the company. Wyatt wrestled four straight house shows on WWE’s holiday tour from December 26 to 29. He defeated Jinder Mahal on each show.

Report: Bo Dallas backstage at WWE Raw

Bo Dallas is reportedly at WWE Raw today.

According to a report from PW Insider, Bray Wyatt’s younger brother is backstage at the Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama ahead of tonight’s show.

Our own Bryan Alvarez reported in October that the 32-year-old was headed back to the company.

Dallas has been rumored to be the one portraying Uncle Howdy but that is not confirmed. His being in Birmingham could be related to a segment for Raw involving Alexa Bliss. She is scheduled to “explain her actions” from last week.

from WWE.com:

In the wake of a shocking and brutal attack on the Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss will explains her brutal actions from this past week on the red brand. Don’t miss Raw, tonight at 8/7 C on USA.

Dallas was released from WWE on April 15, 2020, after having been with the company since 2008. He said during a Q&A at the For the Love of Wrestling convention last April that he was planning to return to the ring.

Dallas said:

“I’m the furthest from done with wrestling that you could possibly be. I spent the past year diving into a bunch of different ventures outside of wrestling, but wrestling has never left my heart — not for one second. And I just wanted to get a couple things done before I dive back into something that I really cared about.

Bray Wyatt vs. LA Knight Pitch Black match set for WWE Royal Rumble

Bray Wyatt will meet LA Knight next month at the Royal Rumble.

Knight issued the challenge to Wyatt on Friday’s SmackDown, with Wyatt accepting. Later, it was announced the two will meet at the Royal Rumble on January 28 in what is being called a Pitch Black match. The match will be sponsored by Mountain Dew.

Wyatt came out Friday to apologize for attacking a cameraman last week when Knight came out. He challenged Wyatt for the Royal Rumble. Wyatt agreed to the match, saying that it is about time he showed Knight and the world just how cruel he could be.

This brought out Uncle Howdy, who entered the ring. He then proceeded to lay out Wyatt with the Sister Abigail, allowing a bewildered Knight to exit the ring.

Since his return in the fall, Wyatt has been stalked by a person in a mask calling himself Uncle Howdy. At first, it appeared that this may have been Wyatt under a mask. However, Howdy revealed himself as a separate entity from Wyatt on a recent episode of SmackDown.

Here is the current card for Royal Rumble:

  • Men’s Royal Rumble match
  • Women’s Royal Rumble match
  • Mountain Dew Pitch Black match: Bray Wyatt vs. LA Knight

Bray Wyatt says he broke his finger at WWE house show

Bray Wyatt may have suffered a broken finger.

Wyatt defeated Jinder Mahal on a WWE house show in Miami on Thursday evening. After the match, Wyatt told fans at ringside he believed his finger was broken.

The Vlog Warriors posted a video of their interaction with Wyatt on Twitter.

Wyatt returned to the ring on the December 26 house show from Madison Square Garden. He hadn’t wrestled since losing to Randy Orton at WrestleMania 37 on April 11, 2021.

Wyatt paid tribute to his former stablemate Brodie Lee on Monday’s show, which took place on the two-year anniversary of his passing.

Wyatt has wrestled on four straight WWE house shows this week as part of the company’s holiday tour. After defeating Mahal in MSG on Monday, he beat him again on Tuesday from Atlanta’s State Farm Arena and on Wednesday from the Greensboro Coliseum in North Carolina. He again defeated Mahal on Thursday’s show from Miami’s FTX Arena.

‘Pitch Black match’ advertised for WWE Royal Rumble

Update —

WWE has confirmed that the Mtn Dew Pitch Black match is coming to the Royal Rumble PPV.

**********

A new match type may be making its debut at the Royal Rumble.

A commercial airing during videos on WWE’s YouTube channel has seemingly indicated that the first-ever “Pitch Black match” will take place at next month’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view. The advertisement is a tie-in for Mtn Dew’s Pitch Black flavor, which is returning to stores in January.

“When it’s the Pitch Black match, anything can happen,” the advertisement says.

WrestlingNews.co reported last month that a Pitch Black match taking place at the Royal Rumble was a possibility.

“We were told about a pitch that was made for a ‘Pitch Black’ match and it was being seriously considered for the show,” the report said. “The source did not have any more details on the structure/rules of the match but one source in the company believes that the match is for Bray Wyatt.”

Wyatt, who is currently feuding with LA Knight, hasn’t wrestled since making his return to WWE at Extreme Rules.

Royal Rumble 2023 is being held at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas on Saturday, January 28.

Bray Wyatt to appear at WWE Crown Jewel

Bray Wyatt has been advertised for Crown Jewel this coming weekend.

During Monday’s Raw, it was announced that Wyatt would be appearing at the show in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia this Saturday.

Wyatt made his return to the company at Extreme Rules earlier this month, joining the SmackDown roster. Since his return, he has been hounded by what appears to him in various masks. On this past Friday’s SmackDown, a new mask was shown, with a distorted voice in the promo identifying themselves as Uncle Howdy. Howdy told Wyatt that he could hide behind a mask, but couldn’t hide from his Uncle Howdy.

Here is the updated Crown Jewel lineup:

Bray Wyatt to ‘address his demons’ on WWE SmackDown

Tonight’s SmackDown will include an appearance by Bray Wyatt.

Ahead of tonight’s SmackDown, WWE put out a video announcing that Wyatt will be appearing on the episode. It’s stated that Wyatt will “address his demons” on the show.

Two weeks ago, Wyatt appeared in front of the crowd on SmackDown and cut his first promo since returning to WWE. Wyatt appears to be playing a split-personality character where one side of him is good and the other is demonic.

A message from Wyatt then aired on last week’s episode. Wyatt said he’s just a servant now, and he goes where “the circle” takes him.

Tonight’s SmackDown is airing on FS1 due to game one of the MLB World Series being on Fox. Here’s what’s been announced for the episode”

  • Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns appears
  • SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey will issue an open challenge
  • Ridge Holland & Butch vs. Sami Zayn & Solo Sikoa
  • Hit Row (Top Dolla & Ashante “Thee” Adonis) and a mystery partner vs. Legado Del Fantasma (Santos Escobar, Joaquin Wilde & Cruz Del Toro)
  • Bray Wyatt appears

WWE notes: Bray Wyatt merchandise sales, Sasha Banks, Chelsea Green

Dave Meltzer shared some WWE news and notes in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter

Bray Wyatt tops WWE merchandise sellers

Meltzer is reporting that Bray Wyatt has surpassed the Bloodline as the top merchandise seller in WWE. He also noted the success of the QR code/White Rabbit videos will lead to similar teases in the future. Meltzer noted that such tactics will be “used more often as a facet of storylines and mystery.”

There has also been talk of a potential program involving Roman Reigns and Wyatt in the future, considering how hot Wyatt is at the moment.

Sasha Banks still under WWE contract

Sasha Banks is still under contract to WWE. Meltzer wrote, “She is still under contract to WWE but there is no word on when she’ll return as there were said to be hang-ups in negotiations for a new deal.”

Banks was in Spain recently for the World CBD Awards show. She owns a new CBD brand with Kalisto/Samuray del Sol named Premier Kanndela Labs. They won the award for Best Industry Newcomer.

Sheamus getting married

The Bloodline recently attacked Sheamus, injuring his arm and seemingly writing him off of television for a while. This was likely done as a way to explain Sheamus’ absence from television as he takes time off to get married. His fiance, Isabella Revilla, has been posting to Instagram about the upcoming wedding.

Chelsea Green is possibly WWE-bound

According to PW Insider, Chelsea Green is done with Impact Wrestling. She filmed an “exit vignette” at the last set of tapings and many are under the impression she is headed back to WWE.

Green signed with WWE in 2018 and wrestled a couple of matches on the main roster in late 2019 and early 2020, including the 2020 Royal Rumble. She broke her wrist during a match on the November 13, 2020 edition of SmackDown and was eventually released on April 15, 2021.

WWE’s Triple H details ‘White Rabbit Project’ social media campaign for Bray Wyatt’s return

WWE head of creative Paul “Triple H” Levesque revealed some of the insight and planning that led into Bray Wyatt’s return at Extreme Rules.

Speaking to The Wrap on Monday to trumpet the social media interactions the campaign got, Levesque said they discussed how to bring Wyatt back “in the most engaging way possible.”

“…We created ‘The White Rabbit Project,’ intended to lead our audience down this literal rabbit hole of content to help build anticipation for Wyatt’s return at Extreme Rules on Peacock,” he said.

“It started with flickering lights in arenas and continued with the release of other easter eggs, like hidden QR codes within episodes of SmackDown and Raw that led viewers to more clues that kept them guessing, and tuning in, each week. It culminated in what we believe was a massive pay-off for our fans – and for WWE,” he continued.

He didn’t say how much Wyatt was involved in the planning.

Via The Wrap, it was learned that the QR codes were interacted with by more than one million users (uniques vs. total was unspecified).

After returning at the conclusion of Extreme Rules, Wyatt made his return to SmackDown this past Friday, closing the show with a promo that didn’t explain much but closed with a video clip that seems to indicate he will continue with some kind of split personality character in his latest iteration.
