EC3 vs. Moose set for Bound For Glory at ‘undisclosed location’

A rivalry that has been building for months on Impact Wrestling will finally hit a crescendo as Impact Wrestling announced Friday that EC3 and Moose will face each other Bound For Glory at an undisclosed location.

It’s likely that means it will be an attempt at a cinematic match as none of their other match announcements have included that disclaimer.

The rivalry began when EC3 surprised Moose after a TNA Heavyweight title match on a late-July edition of Impact, dropping him and walking away. A month later, he did the same thing at Emergence and stole the TNA belt as he said he wanted to leave behind his past by destroying the title. In subsequent weeks, EC3 harassed Moose by giving out his cell phone number and tricking him into confrontations only to appear on video instead.

After being released during the WWE pandemic cuts, EC3’s return to Impact was announced during July’s Slammiversary. He also is working for Ring of Honor.

Bound for Glory is set for Saturday, October 24th and will feature World Champion Eric Young vs. Rich Swann, Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo vs. Kylie Rae, and Tag Team Champions Motor City Machine Guns vs. Good Brothers vs. The North vs. Ace Austin & Madman Fulton in a four-way.

Gallows vs. Fulton, two other matches set for next Impact Wrestling

One half of the Good Brothers will be in action on next week’s Impact Wrestling.

Luke Gallows will face Madman Fulton next Tuesday, continuing a rivalry their respective teams have been having over the past few weeks. Gallows cost Fulton and Ace Austin their match against Tag Team Champions the Motor City Machine Guns Tuesday in which The North also got involved in.

In another match that is continuing a storyline that has played out over the past few weeks, Kylie Rae will take on Kimber Lee. After Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo broke Susie’s arm at Saturday’s Victory Road and Lee, aligned with Purrazzo, Lee mocked Rae for being upset. Rae then snapped and hurt Lee badly, leading to the match next week.

Next week’s show will also feature a three-way tag match featuring Kiera Hogan and Tasha Steelz vs. Havok and Nevaeh vs. Taya Valkyrie and Rosemary in another Impact storyline advancement.

Finally, there will be an update on Rich Swann after World Champion Eric Young attacked him with a kettlebell on Tuesday’s show just as Swann revealed he was medically cleared for Bound For Glory.

X-Division title match announced for Impact Bound for Glory

A six-way scramble match for the X Division title has been added to Bound for Glory.

On tonight’s Impact, Rohit Raju came out and said he would defend his X-Division title. Willie Mack came out to accept Raju’s challenge, but Raju said that he had already defeated him at Victory Road this past weekend and wanted new competition.

Jordynne Grace then came out to challenge Raju. Grace rolled up Raju with an O’Connor Roll to win while Raju was arguing with the referee, refusing to give him the title. Grace thought that she had won the title, but the referee announced since he was not given the title to raise, the title was not officially on the line.

Backstage, Scott D’Amore congratulated Raju on “giving everyone opportunities”. He said at Bound for Glory, he would defend the title against Mack, Grace, TJP, Chris Bey and Trey Miguel.

Other matches announced for Bound for Glory, which takes place on October 24, include Eric Young vs. Rich Swann for the Impact World title, Deonna Purrazzo vs. Kylie Rae for the Knockouts title, and The Motor City Machine Guns vs. The Good Brothers vs. The North vs. Ace Austin & Madman Fulton in a fatal four way tag match for the Impact Tag Team titles.

Impact Wrestling results: MCMG vs. Ace & Fulton

Opening video was a combined recap of both last week’s Impact episode and Victory Road this past weekend. It particularly focused on the ongoing tag team four-way feud surrounding the tag team titles and the Eric Young vs. Eddie Edwards title match.

Tommy Dreamer defeated Brian Myers by DQ

Dreamer got the advantage early on, spilling the match to the floor for a couple of minutes until Dreamer accidentally chopped the ring post, giving Myers the opening to suplex Dreamer on the ramp for the countout tease.

Now in control, Myers worked over Dreamer’s back and neck. Dreamer had a couple of small comebacks but kept getting cut off by Myers at each attempt.

Dreamer eventually caught Myers with a desperation powerslam to stop the momentum. Dreamer hit a cutter for a two count. Myers came back with a sky high for a near fall too.

Dreamer dodged a top rope elbow from Myers, and hit a DDT for a near fall. Myers paid it back, dodging an elbow from Dreamer, and also hit a DDT for a two count.

Myers got a kendo stick, but Dreamer got ahold of it. He stopped himself before he could use it. Myers took the kendo stick and attacked Dreamer for the DQ.

After the match, Myers kept attacking Dreamer with the kendo stick until D’Amore and security came out to stop him. Not as good as the Victory Road match and it’s only going to get worse with weapons.

– Josh Matthews and Madison Rayne ran down tonight’s card, plus an update on the current Bound For Glory card.

– We saw Moose roam around the arena looking for the TNA World Championship belt that is scheduled to be destroyed tonight by ECIII.

– Backstage, John E. Bravo told his groomsmen that he needed them all to chip in for the wedding. Fallah Bahh took on the responsibility to get money. The Deaners, Swinger, and Crazzy Steve all argued about who owed money to who.

Rohit Raju came to the ring and called out anyone that wanted to answer the “Defeat Rohit” challenge. Willie Mack came out, but Raju told him that he already had an opportunity at Victory Road and he had failed to win. Raju asked for new competition and Jordynne Grace came out.

Jordynne Grace defeated X-Division Champion Rohit Raju in a non-title match

Raju stalled as much as he could, not wanting to give the title belt to the referee. In that distraction, Grace rolled up Raju with the O’Connor roll for the win.

Grace thought she had won the title, but the referee announced that since he wasn’t given the title to raise and announce the match as a title match, the title had not been under contest and thus Raju was still the champion. I got excited for Grace as the X-Division champion, but they got me. Grace has a win over the champion, hopefully it leads to a proper title match.

D’Amore waited for Raju at Gorilla position and told him that since he was a great fighting champion, he’d be defending the championship against Willie Mack, TJP, Trey Miguel, Chris Bey, and Jordynne Grace at Bound For Glory.

– Fallah Bahh challenged Hernandez for another arm wrestling match to get the money for Bravo’s wedding. Bahh ended up spilling coffee all over Hernandez.

The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier & Zachary Wentz) defeated XXXL (Acey Romero & Larry D)

Romero and D jumped The Rascalz during their entrance, eliminating Wentz so they could double team Xavier, stretching and dropping him with a big powerbomb.

XXXL kept Xavier away from his corner with quick tags, strikes, and a couple of power moves. D at one point hit a military press slam into a kick for a two count.

Xavier eventually kicked himself away from D to get the tag to Wentz, who came in with a series of dropkicks to drop D and earn a two count with running shooting star press. He quickly transitioned to a sleeper for the submission attempt. The Rascalz double teamed D when he wouldn’t submit.

Finish saw Romero accidentally lariat D, who was then superkicked by Wentz. Rascalz hit hot fire flame on D for the win. Good, short match.

– We were back with Bahh, who successfully tricked Hernandez into taking a shower to get the coffee off. Bahh managed to steal the money away from Hernandez.

– Jimmy Jacobs interviewed both Dr. Foreman and Rich Swann about Swann’s rehab. Dr. Foreman said that Swann was not only good for BFG, but he was cleared as of today. Suddenly, Eric Young, dressed as a nurse, attacked Swann from behind and went after his recently recovered leg with a kettlebell. Dr. Foreman called for the cops, bless his heart.

– Gia Miller interviewed the Motor City Machine Guns. Shelley said that tonight they’re wrestling Ace Austin and Madman Fulton. They put over Austin’s ability before The Good Brothers interrupted them.

Anderson bragged about being undefeated on Impact, so Shelley responded that they were the better team and thus they were the champions. Gallows told them that they would make sure that they’d take care of them tonight because they wanted to make sure the champions made it to Bound For Glory safe and sound.

Rosemary  & Taya Valkyrie defeated Kiera Hogan & Tasha Steelz

Valkyrie and Hogan started the match for their teams, with the former dominating the latter with her power advantage, tossing her from corner to corner. Taya hit her running hip attack and double knee for an early pin attempt.

Rosemary and Steelz tagged in, and once again, the power disadvantage was too much for Steelz, who was just punished from turnbuckle to turnbuckle. It wasn’t until Rosemary locked in the upside down that Hogan kicked Rosemary off the ropes and they successfully turned the match around.

Steelz and Hogan used their speed to keep Rosemary down and Taya off the apron. They got a couple of double team moves and near falls before Rosemary managed to hit Steelz with a backplex out of desperation, but it was enough to tag in Taya.

Valkyrie ran wild on both Hogan and Steelz, getting a two count with a blue thunder bomb on Hogan. She transitioned to a curb stomp and into a STF.

Finish saw Rosemary take out Hogan with a German suplex, but ate a codebreaker from Steelz. When Steelz went to take out Taya, Rosemary got her with a spear and hit standing butterfly bomb for the win. Pretty good match.

All throughout the match, we got the visual of Havok and Nevaeh watching the match in the back.

The Deaners (Cody Deaner & Cousin Jake) defeated Johnny Swinger & Crazzy Steve

Before the wrestling started, the Deaners offered a beer to Crazzy Steve, who drank some and then shared with his monkey puppet. Swinger had to tell him to take the match seriously.

The story of the match was that Swinger couldn’t get Crazzy Steve to secretly hand him the weapons from his gimmick bag, and instead was exposing everything Swinger had to the referee. Fed up, Swinger tried to use the monkey as a weapon, Steve took it away, and so Deaner took advantage, hit a DDT and won.

– We got a recap of Deonna Purrazzo breaking Susie’s arm at Victory Road after she had successfully defended the championship.

Afterwards, Miller interviewed Kylie Rae, who was distraught for not being able to do anything to save Susie. Kimber Lee interrupted Rae and teased her that she should be worried because she would suffer the same fate at Bound For Glory. Rae had enough and jumped Lee, attacking her to the point that Rae herself felt that she had gone too far with the attack.

– D’Amore met with Heath about offering him an Impact contract. Heath thanked D’Amore for the opportunity. D’Amore said that he wanted to write an offer, but Heath jumped ahead and gave D’Amore a proposal instead. Heath asked for more than D’Amore could offer, so they went back and forth on whether Heath had even earned anything. The discussion got the point that D’Amore just straight threw Heath’s papers to the air, rejecting any proposal.

Outside the office, Heath berated Rhino for telling him to reject the WWE offer he had after that RAW with McIntyre to instead join Impact as now he was left with nothing. Interesting development.

– ECIII cut a promo to Moose telling him that it was too late and that Moose had to break his attachment to the past and material possessions. ECIII threw the TNA title belt to the river saying ‘Free Moose’.

– Ken Shamrock was having second thoughts about attacking Eddie Edwards, but Sami Callihan hyped him up telling him that his attack was trending and that he was going to become the old Shamrock. Callihan got Shamrock to rage up and attack an innocent passerby.

– Matthews and Rayne announced the matches for next week, including Hogan & Steelz vs Havok & Nevaeh vs Taya & Rosemary, Kylie Rae vs Kimber Lee, Fulton vs Gallows, and an update on Rich Swann.

Impact Tag Team Champions Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) defeated Ace Austin & Madman Fulton in a non-title match

Sabin and Austin started the match with a series of counters and reversals for wrist control, quickly transitioning into both men exchanging dropkicks before Shelley tagged in.

Shelley and Sabin kept control of the match, working over Austin’s arm with quick attacks and double teams.

After some time being away from his corner, Austin managed to get Shelley’s back and fall to his own corner where Fulton was jumping to get in. Fulton went straight for Shelley, got him with snake eyes and a big boot to turn the match around.

Fulton’s attack consisted of ramming Shelley’s head to the turnbuckle over and over and over. Fulton and Austin hit a side slam and leg drop combo for a two count before Austin did his paper cut trick. They kept working over Shelley’s arm until he managed to trick Austin into hitting Fulton accidentally, and with that distraction, Shelley tagged out.

Sabin got the hot tag and went straight for Austin’s arm and neck, but Austin managed to tag in Fulton, who they sent to the floor immediately.

MCMG tried to double team Austin, but Fulton saved him, so instead they double teamed Fulton for a two count when Austin interrupted the pin with a splash. They hit the reverse STF into a dropkick combo on Austin and went to finish Fulton, but Fulton reversed and hit a double suplex.

Suddenly, The North came out with chairs to attack, but the Good Brothers jumped them before they could. Amidst the chaos, Gallows hit Fulton with an uppercut, giving Shelley and Sabin the opening to hit skull and bones for the win. Great main event.

All four teams eyed each other as the show went off the air.

Final thoughts —

Overall a good show, easy to watch and enjoyable. They properly used all the fallout of Victory Road to add some fuel to the BFG stories.

Impact Wrestling Victory Road results: Three title matches

Impact Wrestling returned Saturday with Victory Road, one of their Impact+ monthly events as Bound For Glory lies ahead.

The opening video was a recap of the ongoing feud between Impact World Champion Eric Young and Eddie Edwards. It included a new promo by Edwards talking about his injured leg at the hands of Ken Shamrock and Sami Callihan from the last Impact episode.

The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier & Zachary Wentz) defeated XXXL (Acey Romero & Larry D)

Wentz and Romero started the match, the former using his speed advantage to get some strikes and distance. Xavier landed a dive to Romero, but on the second one, Romero got him with an elbow, caught Wentz on his dive, and slammed him on top of Xavier.

After Larry D dominated much of the match, Xavier tried to make a comeback but was stopped with a power bomb and a big clothesline. Xavier did manage to kick D before the clothesline and got the hot tag. Wentz came in with a big striking combo on Larry D, a couple of kicks, a PK, and a moonsault for a two count.

Dezmond joined Wentz for tandem running strikes, but XXXL got rid of Wentz, allowing them to double team Xavier with a double splash pancake, Romero senton, and Larry D plancha for a two count when Wentz broke it up.

Wentz sent Romero to the floor and followed with a pescado. In the ring, Xavier caught D with a moonsault kick and a beautiful final flash for the win in a good opener.

Brian Myers defeated Tommy Dreamer

Myers worked over Dreamer’s back early with strikes, suplexes, and the occasional submission attempt. Dreamer had some hope spots with small packages for quick pin attempts. Eventually, he cut off Myers with a desperation dive and a jumping clothesline from the apron to the floor.

Dreamer made a comeback with strikes and the bionic elbow. He landed a terrible sky high for a two count and said that “I worked for D’Lo for years.”

The end came when Dreamer went for the top rope, but Myers cut him off, hitting a big lariat for the win. This was surprisingly better than I expected, but still just ok.

– Moose approached Scott D’Amore asking why he had been given a match and he needed to go focus on EC3 and the TNA World Championship. D’Amore told Moose that he hadn’t wrestled in a long time and had to get in the ring and focus on Trey Miguel instead.

Willie Mack defeated X-Division Champion Rohit Raju by countout

They started with some headlock wrestling, some counters, and reversals that ended with Mack hitting some lucha armdrags and ranas. When he went for the early stunner, Raju dropped to the floor to regain himself.

Later, Mack went for the stunner, but Raju raked Mack’s eyes, hit a crossroads into a crossface, and as Mack was close to making the ropes, Raju rolled him back to the center of the ring. Mack had to once again power out of it, but Raju was ready with a jumping knee and a running cannonball for another near fall.

Mack dodged a footstomp and caught Raju with a pop-up elbow and an exploder, but he kicked out. They started whipping each other and Mack stupidly clonked his head which Raju used to drop to the floor and take a countout loss. Raju was great, but Mack made this boring.

– Gia Miller interviewed Ken Shamrock and Sami Callihan about their attack on Eddie Edwards. Callihan said that after losing their shot for the tag titles, Shamrock needed to be reminded why he was the most dangerous man and thus, he convinced him to make an impact. Callihan said that he was there to support Shamrock, but that this wasn’t his battle.

Tenille Dashwood (w/ Kaleb with a K) defeated Jordynne Grace

After some back and forth, this spilled to the outside of the ring and they started ramming each other into the guardrails and steel steps. Dashwood started to look at some photos with Kaleb and almost got herself counted out, but made it back to the ring in time for a pin attempt and regained control.

Dashwood started going for neck submissions on Grace who eventually rolled through one to get two. Unfortunately, she wasn’t able to capitalize and Dashwood was fast enough to catch Jordynne with a sliding elbow to regain control.

Grace hit a couple of close distance lariats, but Dashwood blocked the third with a butterfly suplex for a near fall. Grace blocked a suplex, blocked the Spotlight, hit a back elbow, and sent Dashwood to the corner. She hit the Vader bomb for two. Grace locked in a sleeper, but Kaleb distracted the referee so he didn’t see the visual tap.

Grace went for the Grace driver, but Dashwood small packaged her for two. Dashwood hit the spotlight kick to get the win in another good match in a series that keeps getting better.

– Gia Miller interviewed the Motor City Machine Guns about defending their Tag Team Titles in a four-way at Bound For Glory. Sabin said they were happy to be able to be done with all teams at the same time and move on.

Heath & Rhino defeated Reno Scum (Luster The Legend & Adam Thornstowe)

Rhino and Luster started off going back and forth, exchanging shoulderblocks and strikes. Heath and Thornstowe tagged in with the former getting the better of the exchange with constant armdrag takedowns, snapmares, and snapping the shoulder. Rhino and Heath kept tagging in and out until Luster got a lariat on Heath behind the referee’s back, and just like that, they changed the match in their favor.

Later, after a long beatdown, Heath caught Thornstowe with a desperation kick and tagged in Rhino, who came in on fire, hitting Luster with a belly-to-belly for a two. He sent Thornstowe to the floor, but as he went for the clothesline on Luster, they took each other out with stereo clotheslines.

Heath tagged in, but was quickly overtaken by Reno Scum as Thornstowe snapped him on the ropes and Luster caught him with a big boot. They went for their finisher, but Rhino was there to gore Luster. Thornstowe superkicked Rhino, only for Heath to grab him from behind with the Wake Up Call for the win. Heath looked good here.

– Backstage, D’Amore told Heath and Rhino that he was impressed. He told Heath to show up on Tuesday and have a proper meeting to talk contract.

Trey Miguel defeated Moose

Moose started aggressively, but Miguel was too quick for Moose to grab. He tried chopping Moose and going for a rana, but it was the perfect move for Moose to block and drop Miguel with one single chop.

However, Moose had his mind on EC3 and not this match as Miguel started dodging him and attacking with quick strikes and running dropkicks. Once again, as soon as Moose had his hands on Miguel, he easily blocked him and tossed him from the top rope to the other corner. Throughout the match, he would call out EC3 while he was on offense.

Eventually, Moose went for a ripcord elbow, but Miguel managed to get him with a superkick. He landed several more kicks before going for dive after dive after dive, but at the end, Moose was still able to block him. Miguel went for a moonsault from the apron and it looked like Moose saved his life by preventing him from falling on his neck. Moose then dropped him on the apron.

Moose set up the Lights Out and EC3’s logo appeared on the video screen, leading to Miguel rolling him up for the distraction pin and win. Moose didn’t care and rushed to the production truck where he got locked in and attacked. Moose ran out and found the TNA title belt, but unfortunately, ECIII jumped him from behind and told him that the TNA title belt dies on Tuesday.

This whole thing was way too long to just end up with a cheap win for Miguel and a loss that didn’t even bother Moose.

Josh Alexander (w/ Ethan Page) defeated Ace Austin (w/ Madman Fulton), Alex Shelley (w/ Chris Sabin), and Karl Anderson (w/ Doc Gallows) in a four way

Anderson and Shelley started out with Shelley frustrating him. Anderson tagged Austin who also got outwrestled by Shelley until he resorted to his speed advantage to get some strikes in, but at the end, Shelley was still standing tall over him after a dropkick to the face.

Later, Austin caught Shelley with an enziguri, but couldn’t follow through and instead got snapped on the ropes by Shelley who also had the bad luck of falling into Fulton who chokeslammed him on the apron.

Now in control, Austin worked over Shelley’s hand with his card trick and stomped on his hand over and over. He went for a phoenix splash, but Shelley dodged and hit a dragon suplex.

Alexander and Anderson tagged in, the latter getting the better of the exchange, hitting a senton on Alexander, a cutter on Austin, and a spinebuster on Alexander for a two count. Alexander got Anderson in a fireman’s carry and accidentally knocked out the referee which led to Gallows, Fulton, Sabin, and Page all taking each other out and getting involved outside the ring.

Fulton was going to toss Austin as a ragdoll on top of everyone, but the referee recovered and sent every second to the back.

Back to the match, we got a tower of doom spot with Alexander on top. Shelley followed with a frog splash for another pin attempt, but Anderson broke it up. Austin hit a knee to Anderson, a spinning back heel to Shelley, and a springboard disaster kick on Alexander, but Anderson was there to take him out with a gun stun.

Shelley hit sliced bread on Anderson, but Alexander hit a double underhook driver on Shelley to finally got the win.

This was great as everyone looked fantastic and there were very little shenanigans.

– Backstage, Dreamer approached Myers and thanked him for the match. Myers didn’t shake Dreamer’s hand and said that he was disappointed he had to fight a sad old man and not the innovator of violence. Dreamer told him that maybe he’ll see him on Tuesday.

Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo (w/ Kimber Lee) defeated Susie (w/ Kylie Rae)

Purrazzo started strong and pushed around Susie, not taking her seriously and laughing at her to the referee. The laughs wouldn’t last long as Susie pushed her to the corner next and enraged the champion.

Susie had a flurry of schoolgirls and roll-ups and took down Purrazzo down with a headlock, but the champ broke it up. Susie hit a bulldog for a two count and Purrazzo left the ring to regain her composure. Susie followed her with a tope suicida on both her and Lee. Lee stopped Susie for going up to the top, allowing Purrazzo to toss her and get back on the attack.

Later, Susie got the advantage went to the top rope with a crossbody, but Lee distracted the referee. Rae took out Lee, but it was too late.

Purrazzo caught Susie with a kick, knee lift, leg sweep, and Fujiwara armbar, but Susie escaped. Susie hit a palm strike, an arachnorana, and went for the panic switch, but Purrazzo escaped. Purrazzo snapped her arm with the Pentagon armbreaker, followed with a Fujiwara armbar, and doubled it down with the other arm to get the verbal submission.

This was one of Susie’s best matches in a long time.

After the match, Lee and Purrazzo jumped Rae and stomped on her. They Pillmanized Susie’s arm and made Rae watch as Purrazzo locked in the Fujiwara armbar again. This was a great little angle that we don’t get from the women as often.

Impact World Champion Eric Young defeated Eddie Edwards

The two started brawling from the start, going to the outside. They chopped each other, rammed each other into the guardrails, landed headbutts, and more. Young went into the ring only for Edwards to toss him outside again and hit a pescado. Young was busted up under his eye after all this. Edwards went for a tiger suplex on the ramp, but Young countered, tossing him over the head. They kept exchanging chops and ramming each other into the ringpost.

They finally got in the ring with Young gaining control, going after Edwards’ neck with chokes, standing on top of it, and kicks and punches.

Later, Edwards hit the Boston Knee Party, but Young managed to block it. Edwards scored a diamongiri and attempted another backpack stunner, but Young blocked him and instead, Edwards hit an ugly looking top rope blue thunder bomb for a near fall.

Edwards once again went to the top rope, but Young dropped him knee first to the canvas. Young locked in a figure four leg lock, but Edwards’ shoe came off and before Young could realize it, Edwards hit the BKP for a two count when Young got the ropes.

Edwards went for Emerald Flowsion, but his knee buckled as Young had worked over it for a good portion of the match. He hit a dropkick, a piledriver, and locked on a kneebar for the submission win.

This was an awesome match that could have main evented any Impact show, especially with a crowd. This is a must watch. After the match, Young went to attack with a chair, but Rich Swann came down for the save to send Young running.

Final thoughts:

A lot of this show felt like anything you would see on a weekly Impact episode, but the last three matches were definitely top level performances, especially the main event.

Gallows & Anderson challenge MCMG for Impact Bound for Glory

The Good Brothers officially challenged The Motor City Machine Guns to an Impact Tag Team title match at Bound For Glory.

The two teams confronted one another tonight on Impact, with Shelley mocking Anderson for his run in Japan.

Later, The Good Brothers defeated The Rascalz in a tag team match. Following that bout, Anderson called out Shelley and Sabin, saying that while they came here for money, they also came for titles, and challenged them to a title match at Bound for Glory. MCMG did not issue a reply.

The MCMG won the titles on July 19, defeating The North on an episode of Impact Wrestling.

Two other title matches have been announced for the show: Deonna Purrazzo will defend the Impact Knockouts title against Kylie Rae and Eric Young will defend the Impact World title against Rich Swann.

Prior to Bound for Glory, Eric Young and Deonna Purrazzo will defend their titles at Victory Road, which takes place on October 3. EC3 TNA title funeral set for next Impact Wrestling

EC3 will be holding a funeral for the TNA World Title belt on next Tuesday’s Impact Wrestling.

In his continuing angle with Moose (the self-proclaimed TNA Champion), EC3 appeared on Tuesday’s show via a projector screen and invited a stressed out Moose to the funeral where he promised to burn the title.

EC3 stole the belt at August’s Emergence event and Moose has been in pursuit of his property ever since. EC3 still hasn’t wrestled for Impact since returning to the promotion where he rose to prominence.

In the featured match of the week, Tag Team Champions Motor City Machine Guns will face Madman Fulton and Ace Austin in a non-title match. Austin and Fulton lost to The North in this week’s main event, and both the MCMG and Fulton and Austin brawled to end this week’s show.

Rosemary and Taya Valkyrie vs. Kiera Hogan & Tasha Steelz was also announced for next week. This was made after Steelz and Hogan jumped Rosemary and Valkyrie after their win over Nevaeh and Havok Tuesday.

Impact Wrestling results: Ace & Fulton vs. The North

Impact Wrestling returns from Nashville, TN for the build up to Victory Road and Bound For Glory.

Opening video focused on last week’s X-Division three-way for a shot at Rohit Raju, who successfully defended the X-Division title, the ongoing war that Eric Young has started against Impact and the consequent return of Eddie Edwards, who would be later attacked before the end of last week’s show.

Taya Valkyrie & Rosemary defeated Havok & Nevaeh

Havok and Rosemary got face to face, but Nevaeh and Taya pulled them apart and started the match instead. Early advantage for Taya using lucha arm drags.

Havok and Rosemary tagged in and straight for strikes. Havok got Rosemary down with a couple of kicks and went for the chokeslam, but Rosemary fought it off and got the tag to Taya, who came in and got a two count pin attempt.

Havok recovered and took down Taya with a backbreaker, took her to their corner for some running clotheslines, and a submission attempt by Nevaeh. Taya tried to fight away, but Nevaeh kept her down with a dropkick for more pin attempts. Havok tagged in for another backbreaker and clothesline combo and yet another near fall. Taya finally fought off and escaped Havok to tag in Rosemary, who came in running wild, hitting exploders. Rosemary locked in the upside down on Havok, followed with a crossbody from the third, and tagged Taya in for the double spear.

Nevaeh tagged in, hit a German on Rosemary. Taya blocked the German attempt on her, hit Road to Valhalla and picked up the win. Good opener, better than usual.

After the match, Tasha Steelz and Kiera Hogan came out and jumped Taya. Rosemary. Havok and Nevaeh, who have a history with Steelz and Hogan, made the save.

Backstage, The Good Brothers are telling stories. Everyone seems to love it until Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin approach them. Shelley started making fun of Anderson’s past in Japan, completely running over him with a truck of insults, leaving Anderson without comebacks.

Gia MIller interviewed KImber Lee and Deonna Purrazzo, who said that Kylie Rae was completely confused to think that everyone liking her would mean anything when she stepped in the ring with Purrazzo. Gia Miller announced to Purrazzo that she’ll be defending the title at Victory Road against Susie.

Josh Matthews & Madison Rayne ran down the card for Victory Road and tonight’s show.

Kaleb with a K was in the ring for Tenille Dashwood’s introduction.

Jordynne Grace defeated Tenille Dashwood (with Kaleb with a K)

Jordynne Grace started the match chasing the Grace driver, but Tenille would escape. Jordynne would follow with a couple of shoulder tackles, a scoop slam, and senton for a two count. Jordynne pushed Tenille to the corner for more shoulder thrusts and clotheslines. Jordynne whipped her from corner to corner, complete dominance.

Tenille finally managed to get Jordynne between the ropes for a desperation neckbreaker and get to change things around. Now with control, Tenille worked over Jordynne’s head, going after the hair over and over. Jordynne would try to come back, but Tenille kept her down, dodging and kicking her.

Eventually, Jordynne connected with a quick jab, a boot, and it was enough to set up Tenille for the running knees to the back, running falling elbow, and a Vader bomb for a two count. Jordynne went for the Grace driver, but Tenille blocked, only to take a close distance clothesline instead. Jordynne connected more clotheslines, but failed on the third and found herself hanging on a tree of woe for Tenille’s low crossbody for a two count.

Tenille went for the double underhook, but Grace blocked. Tenille went for the spotlight, but Grace dodged and set up the Grace driver, only to get distracted by Kaleb.

Tenille went for an O’Connor roll, but Jordynne reversed into a sleeper for the submission win.

Moose was running around backstage looking for ECIII, actually attacking an innocent bystander by mistake. ECIII appeared and told Moose that he’ll be on Impact next week to destroy the TNA title.

We got a video package of Rich Swann’s recovery and rehab. He said that he is finally bound for glory and he’ll prove everyone wrong. Rehab doctor said that he had been working all day all night and that he was cleared to go.

Impact Plus Flashback Moment of the Week was Victory Road 2012’s Madison Rayne vs Gail Kim.

Rhino and Heath celebrated the success of their last infomercial when suddenly, Reno Scum and Hernandez jumped them and took the money they had stolen. Serves them right for stealing.

Rhino went looking for D’Amore and asked for a match with Reno Scum. D’Amore said that this was a favor because Heath didn’t work here, but if Heath signs a waiver, he and Heath can fight Reno Scum unsanctioned at Victory Road.

The Good Brothers (Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows) defeated The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier & Zachary Wentz)

Anderson and Xavier started the match with Anderson getting the jump and early advantage, ramming Dez from corner to corner, hitting elbows. Dezmond got a rana on Anderson and tagged in Wentz, who unfortunately was pushed into Gallows, who tagged in next.

Gallows hit Wentz with lefts and rights and headbutts before tagging in Dezmond again, except this time around, The Rascalz surprised Anderson with a fast paced kick combo to bring him down for the pin attempt.

Dezmond went for a running dropkick, but Anderson blocked and tagged in Gallows, who came in with a huge clothesline on Xavier, followed with a delayed suplex. GBs worked over Dezmond from there on with quick tags, strikes, and headlocks. Gallows almost submitted Xavier with a sleeper, but Xavier started fighting back and got a desperation wheelbarrow bulldog to get Gallows off and tag in Wentz.

Anderson and Wentz tagged in, with the latter getting the better of the strike exchange with an enziguri, step-up knee, and a PK. Xavier tagged in for the double team footstomp and hot fire flame, but Anderson got the knees up and got rid of Wentz.

Xavier tried to dive on Gallows, but was caught midair and tossed into Wentz. Back in the ring, Anderson hit a spinebuster on Xavier, followed by a magic killer for the win.

After the match, Anderson called out Shelley and Sabin. He said that they came here for money, but they also came for titles and challenged them for a title shot at BFG.

Brian Myers came into the arena and suddenly found himself in the same hallway as Dreamer, who didn’t give in to last week’s threat. They got face to face, Myers tried to jump Dreamer, but Dreamer managed to block it, and being a professional, challenged Myers to a match at Victory Road.

Tenille and Kaleb were leaving the arena when Jordynne Grace stopped them for no reason. Kaleb challenged Jordynne Grace on behalf of Tenille for a match at Victory Road. Tenille wasn’t so happy about it, she just wanted a doctor to look at her neck.

Johnny Swinger defeated Fallah Bahh to become John E. Bravo’s best man

The Deaners, Crazzy Steve, Alisha Edwards, and Bravo are all ringside to watch the match.

Swinger jumped Bahh to start the match, but didn’t do much damage. Bahh powered up and pushed Swinger to the corner where he delivered a palm strike combo and an over-the-head body toss.

Swinger went for a scoop slam, but couldn’t pick up Bahh, who delivered one himself, followed with a leg drop for a two count. Swinger raked Bahh’s eyes, stomped Cody Deaner’s hand to distract the referee and used Steve’s monkey to hit Bahh for the win.

After the match, Bravo berated referee Tolle for not seeing that Bravo had cheated and had ruined his wedding. He told Tolle to restart the match or he’d never be head official, and so we got…

Fallah Bahh defeated Johnny Swinger to become John E. Bravo’s best man.

Match restarted, Bahh caught Swinger with a running body splash and banzai drop for the win.

Gia Miller interviewed Rohit Raju about his cheap win last week. Rohit said that he had become The Star of Impact and that he was debuting the ‘Defeat Rohit’ challenge at Victory Road. TJP approached him and said he wanted first dibs at the challenge, but Rohit told them that the challenge was for anyone that hasn’t already had their chances.

Swinger approached Bravo reversing the decision. Bravo said he didn’t care who the best man was, he reversed the decision because it was a bad call and that referee Tolle was a moron (his words, not mine). Is this becoming a Bravo vs Tolle feud?

Eddie Edwards came down to the ring. He cut a promo calling out whoever attacked him last week. He assumed that it was Eric Young and called him out to get in a fight, but instead, Sami Callihan came out.

Callihan told Eddie he didn’t do it and that Eddie knew him and Sami didn’t hide behind blackout attacks. Sami had footage of the man that attacked him, and when the lights came up, Ken Shamrock was behind Eddie. Shamrock, who looks way bigger than before, took down Eddie with a kick, locked in the ankle lock. Made it seem like Sami and Shamrock are a team against Eddie now, days before Eddie challenges EY for the title.

And now, Eric Young cut a promo about Eddie not being healthy for him at Victory Road, and so if Eddie decides to show up, he’ll enjoy destroying Eddie.

Kylie Rae approached Susie about her shot at Victory Road. Rae said that she’d be happy if Susie won and they could wrestle instead at BFG. Susie kept giving signs that Su Yung is coming out soon.

Matthews and Rayne ran down the update card for Victory Road, including the Defeat Rohit Challenge, Tenille vs Jordynne III, Myers vs Dreamer, Reno Scum vs Rhino & Heath, Eric Young vs Eddie Edwards for the Impact title.

Next week, we get MCMG vs Ace Austin & Madman Fulton, and Rosemary and Taya vs Kiera Hogan & Tasha Steelz.

The North (Ethan Page & Josh Alexander) defeated Ace Austin & Madman Fulton

Fulton and Page started the match, with the former having the power advantage, tossing around Page, who had to hide behind the ropes. Page tried to use some speed on Fulton, but to no avail. Page tried to get a sleeper in, but Fulton treated him like a ragdoll, tossing him snake eyes into the ring post. Alexander tried to distract Fulton, but got taken out. Eventually, The North got Fulton to chase them to a trap and double team attack outside the ring to finally slow him down.

Back at the ring, Fulton regained control over The North, getting rid of Page and hitting Alexander with a big powerslam.

Ace Austin tagged in with a leg drop for a two count. He worked over Alexander for a bit until he was getting taken over, and thus he pushed Alexander back to Fulton to regain dominance over the match.

Fulton went back to destroying Alexander from corner to corner, who wouldn’t even budge at Josh’s chops. Once in control, Ace tagged in again for a running attack, but it was enough for Alexander to recover, tag in Page, hit a double team thunder bomb on Ace to gain some momentum.

Now The North worked over Ace with quick tags and double team moves, complete contrast with the work that Ace and Fulton have as a team. Ace eventually managed a desperation dropkick to bring Page down.

Fulton and Josh tagged in, they went for strikes, which worked for Alexander for a bit before Fulton landed a pop-up palm strike. Alexander responded with a German and a rolling elbow, followed with a rolling fireman’s carry.

Page and Ace tagged in, the former got a couple of kicks on Page before going for the top rope leg drop for a two count. Ace went for an assisted splash on Alexander from the shoulders of Fulton.

Fulton went for a chokeslam on Page, but was saved by Alexander. The North tossed Ace into Fulton, double clotheslined on Fulton to toss him off the ring, followed by a dive from Alexander into Fulton’s knee to take him out.

Back in the ring, The North double teamed Ace with a strike combo and their finisher and won.

After the match, The Good Brothers came out, got face to face with The North to talk some trash, but with the distraction, Ace and Fulton attacked Anderson and Gallows. MCMGs came out and joined the brawl to end the show.

Final thoughts —

Good show for Impact, good in-ring work throughout the show. Some storylines felt really rushed as they pretty much built a full card for Saturday’s Victory Road show in only one show.

Rob Van Dam, Katie Forbes no longer with Impact Wrestling

First reported by PWInsider and confirmed by Dave Meltzer, Rob Van Dam and Katie Forbes are no longer with Impact Wrestling.

The two had not been working under a contract and their latest agreement had run out, wrapping up with a storyline that played out on last week’s AXS show. RVD pinned Sami Callihan in a match, giving Forbes five minutes alone with him. Callihan then took out RVD with a chair and hit a Cactus Special on Forbes to close out the angle.

The 49-year-old returned to Impact in 2019 and initially worked in an ECW reunion angle with Tommy Dreamer and Sabu against current day Impact stars. He was also part of the Cancel Culture group with Joey Ryan until Ryan was fired due to sexual assault allegations.

Forbes, Van Dam’s girlfriend, also signed with Impact in 2019 and debuted at their United We Stand event.

A former TNA World Champion and X-Division Champion, Van Dam didn’t hold any titles in his second run.

The Rock to film greeting for Ken Shamrock’s Impact HOF induction

It looks like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will be playing a small role in Ken Shamrock’s Impact Wrestling Hall of Fame induction.

Shamrock sent a tweet to The Rock today asking if The Rock would send an induction greeting for him. The Rock then responded and agreed to do it.

“@TheRock Hey brother I am being Inducted into the Impact Wrestling HOF I would be very grateful if you could send a Induction greeting. After all I believe my time with you was my greatest memories in Wrestling. Thank you,” Shamrock tweeted.

“Congrats, my brother. Awesome news. I will take care of this and get it to you by this weekend,” The Rock wrote in response.

It was announced this March that Shamrock would join Impact Wrestling’s Hall of Fame during Bound for Glory weekend this year. WWE allowed Impact to use some footage of Shamrock’s WWE career for the announcement video package, including Shamrock submitting The Rock to win King of the Ring 1998. This year’s Bound for Glory pay-per-view is taking place on Saturday, October 24.

Shamrock won the NWA World title on the first-ever TNA show in 2002. He returned to Impact Wrestling in 2019.

Impact Knockouts title match added to Bound For Glory

A Knockouts title match has been added to Bound for Glory.

Deonna Purrazzo will defend the Knockouts title against Kylie Rae following events that took place on tonight’s Impact.

Rae’s friend Susie (Su Yung) faced Kimber Lee on tonight’s show. Purrazzo was in Lee’s corner and got involved in the finish. She tried to attack Susie, but accidentally struck Lee, allowing Susie to pick up the win with Su Yung’s panic switch.

After the match, Susie attempted to switch into the Su Yung persona. Rae calmed her down, but it gave Purrazzo the chance to jump Rae, with Susie going after Purrazzo for the save. Purrazzo attacked Susie with a fujiwara armbar, but Rae recovered and tossed her out of the ring.

Once everything settled, Rae told Purrazzo that if she likes to bully people, she’ll face her at Bound for Glory and will take the title from her.

The event, which takes place on October 24, will also have an Impact World title match between champion Eric Young and challenger Rich Swann.

Good Brothers vs. The Rascalz set for next Impact Wrestling

The Good Brothers will be in action on the next Impact Wrestling.

In a match made during a backstage segment on Tuesday’s show, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows will face The Rascalz next week. Anderson and Gallows subbed in for the Rascalz in an eight-man tag match two weeks ago which the Rascalz didn’t take kindly to.

In another match made Tuesday, next week’s show will also feature former Impact Tag Champions The North against Ace Austin and Madman Fulton. Ethan Page and Josh Alexander interrupted Austin and Fulton during an interview segment as they took umbrage with Austin and Fulton saying they were next in line for a tag title shot.

Other matches announced:

  • Johnny Swinger vs. Fallah Bahh to become John E. Bravo’s best man. Swinger was upset Tuesday that Bahh was Bravo’s best man, leading to the match.
  • Rosemary & Taya Valkyrie vs. Nevaeh & Havok. This was made Tuesday as Valkyrie and Rosemary are trying to work out their issues.
