Impact Wrestling results: Jordynne Grace vs. Tenille Dashwood

Impact Wrestling returned from Nashville, TN, for tonight’s episode on the road to Victory Road and later, Bound For Glory. The opening video made focus on the ongoing storyline with ECIII stalking Moose, and Rich Swann’s promo from last week pleading to be given a match against World Champion Eric Young.

Rohit Raju came out to watch the next match, knowing that he must defend his X-Division championship right after. 

Trey Miguel defeated Chris Bey and TJP in a X-Division Championship #1 contendership match

Bey started by jumping Miguel while TJP was still taking his shirt off. When TJP tried to interfere, Bey got the better of him. Once recovered, all three men traded ranas and arm drags, ending with TJP on the floor and Bey and Miguel in the ring doing a quick-paced sequence of counters and reversals. 

Bey got taken out, but TJP returned to the ring to exchange some reversals with Miguel. TJP went for an octopus stretch, but was rolled over for a two count. Bey returned and hit a DDT and neckbreaker on both men for two near falls. Bey got rid of Miguel and hit a jumping uppercut on TJP, followed by a palm strike and a jumping neckbreaker for another two count. 

TJP locked in a sharpshooter and a choke on Bey, then released him. But, he locked in a last chancery on Miguel alone. Bey broke it up with a double foot stomp.

Bey and Miguel exchanged strikes in the middle of the ring, Miguel caught Bey with a jumping kick, but couldn’t follow up. TJP returned with an atomic drop and springboard clothesline on Bey, hit the three amigos and signaled for the mamba splash, but Miguel blocked him off. 

Miguel hit a rana on Bey, a jumping knee, armdrag and foot stomp combo on both Bey and TJP, ending with a cutter on TJP for a two count. Miguel tried to follow with a top rope plancha, but TJP moved away, only for Miguel to land directly on a cutter from Bey for a close near fall.

TJP locked an armbreaker on Bey, who tried to roll him up, only for TJP to turn it into an ankle lock. Miguel landed with a meteora out of nowhere on TJP and picked up the win in a great opener.

X-Division Champion Rohit Raju defeated Trey Miguel to retain

Miguel tried to rush Rohit, but Rohit dodged him, caught him with a roll-up and pulled the tights to steal the win in less than a minute.

– Eric Young cut a promo about what happened last week. He said he had time to think about it and in the end, his conscience is clear from here on out because Swann decided to come after him and Scott D’Amore decided to give him the match.

– Gia Miller wanted to interview Tenille Dashwood, but only got Kaleb with a K, who said that she was busy with V-Venom therapy. She eventually walked out and had some nice words of wisdom for Miller.

Susie (with Kylie Rae) defeated Kimber Lee (with Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo)

Lee went in for an early kick on Susie, who caught it and tossed Lee into a leg split. Susie tried to do it too, but Lee rolled her up for a two count. Lee tried to punch Susie, but she was dodging everything. a big tilt-a-whirl backbreaker from Lee got a two count.

Lee started working over Susie, choking her on the ropes and stomping on her. Lee landed a dropkick that sent Susie to the floor. Rae came for the save.

Back in the ring, Lee kept working over Susie with chokes and stomps. A kick combo got another two count, but Lee transitioned into a deep single crab. Susie escaped and tried to hit the arachrana, but Lee blocked it and dropped from the top rope with another Boston crab for a submission tease. Susie made the ropes. 

Lee went for kicks, but Susie started to fight back. She landed a monkey roll, connected with more strikes and hit the arachrana, but only got a two count. Susie rushed at Lee, but was caught with a pop-up powerbomb for a near fall. Lee dragged Susie to the corner and went for the swanton, but Susie caught her with a palm strike. Purrazzo tried to attack Susie, but accidentally hit Lee, giving Susie the opening to hit Su Yung’s panic switch for the win. This was surprisingly good.

Susie was transitioning into Su Yung when Rae calmed her down again. Purrazzo jumped Rae, but Susie saved her, only to get taken down with a Fujiwara armbar until Rae superkicked Purrazzo and tossed her out of the ring. 

After that, Rae said that if Purrazzo likes to bully people, she is taking her Knockouts title at Bound For Glory, making the match official.

– We got a commercial from Heath, rallying up the people to support him on his campaign to get an Impact contract. He said that it wasn’t just about the money or the kids, but he wanted to be there because he loved wrestling and Impact had the competition. Rhino and D’Lo Brown had some words for Heath. There were even cameos by David Hasselhoff, Flavor Flav, Nancy Kerrigan, and a very old Chuck Norris. Heath’s daughters even cut promos on Scott D’Amore. This ended up being quite good.

– Backstage, Impact Tag Team Champions Motor City Machine Guns were approached by The Good Brothers kinda asking them for a thank you, saying they came in to replace those “young boys” in the eight man tag last week. The Rascalz came in with a fiery promo on the Brothers and challenged them to a match.

– The Impact Plus flashback moment of the week was Bound For Glory 2013’s Bully Ray vs. AJ Styles match.

– ECIII cut a promo about knowing what it feels to be robbed, so he told Moose these are the times to come together and control the narrative. He called for people to send hints to Moose via telephone and he gave up a phone number (407-457-8494).

– Taya Valkyrie approached Rosemary about not being out there for her match. Rosemary said she was unconscious backstage because Havok knocked her out. They agreed that they needed to be on the same page to make things work, so they agreed to deal with one’s problems.

– We then saw John E. Bravo rallying up his groomsmen which consists of The Deaners, Alisha Edwards, Crazzy Steve, Johnny Swinger, and Fallah Bahh. The Deaners left for a match. Swinger was mad that Bahh was the best man. This was kinda funny.

– Gia Miller interviewed Brian Myers about cheating to defeat Willie Mack. Myers got all crazy about the allegations and started throwing tables around until Tommy Dreamer came out to stop him. He told him that he needed to chill and clean things up. Myers acted like a diva and wasn’t going to clean up anything, so they exchanged some heavy words face to face. Dreamer asked Miller what would happen if Gia made a mess, to which Gia said she’d be fired. Dreamer told Myers to respect the company. Myers said he would clean it up this time, but next time he saw Dreamer in the hall, he better walk the other way. This was another surprisingly good skit.

– Cody Deaner and Cousin Jake came out for their match, but Eric Young jumped them from behind. Young punished Cody all around the ring to send a message to Rich Swann and Scott D’Amore. Cody tried to fight back, but Young raked his eyes, hit a piledriver, and locked in an armbar and ankle lock trying to break it. Cousin Jake came down for the save, fought off Young, and actually cleared the ring. Young threatened Cousin Jake that he was next, and as soon as Jake turned his eyes to his cousin, Young returned and attacked both again. Young hit a piledriver on Cousin Jake. 

Young cut a short promo directed to Eddie Edwards, Swann, and D’Amore, telling them that all that happens from here on is on their hands. 

Young went after Cousin Jake’s ankle, but some security came out, which were also taken out. After way too long, D’Amore casually came out and asked him to let go. D’Amore got in the ring and tried to break up the ankle lock, got face to face with Young and then Young went after him, but out came Eddie Edwards, sending the champion packing.

This was really good, but it went on for too long without anyone coming out to stop him or the Deaners being able to do anything. It also worries me that Edwards is going be added to the main event of BFG and take some of the thunder away from Swann.

Afterwards, Edwards came for D’Amore, telling him that Young is walking all over him. Edwards said he wanted his rematch before Swann got his. D’Amore said that Edwards could get his match at Victory Road on October 3rd.

Rob Van Dam (w/ Katie Forbes) defeated Sami Callihan

The stipulation of the match was that if RVD could defeat Callihan, then Forbes gets five minutes alone with Callihan in the ring.

RVD rushed Callihan during his entrance and they started brawling outside the ring. They rammed each other into the guardrails and chopped each other around. Callihan had the upper hand until Katie got Callihan’s foot and allowed RVD to take him out with a couple of jumping kicks. RVD hit a rolling thunder on the floor, hit Callihan with forearms, and connected with a spinning back kick. 

In the ring, the referee called for the bell to start the match. Unfortunately for RVD, Callihan had recovered and went after him with kicks, a falling elbow, a couple of JYD headbutts, and eye pokes. RVD managed to leg sweep Callihan down and distracted the referee, allowing Forbes to get some shots in before he followed up with a springboard kick. 

RVD kept control, hitting running dropkicks to the corner, stomps, and chokes. RVD hit a leg drop and went for a pin, but Callihan got his leg on the ropes. RVD kept chasing a camel clutch, so Callihan just bit his hands to break the submission.

Rob locked in a leg scissors around Callihan, so Callihan started going after Rob’s knees. They exchanged strikes in the middle of the ring until RVD went for the eyes and regained some control, only for Callihan to come back with an eye rake of his own. Callihan hit a DDT for a two count.

Callihan went for the cactus special, but Forbes distracted the referee, making Callihan break it up and go after her. Forbes was ready, however, and used hair spray on Callihan’s eyes, allowing RVD to roll him up for the win.

Forbes now had five minutes alone with Callihan, which she took advantage of when Callihan was down. But, as soon as she started twerking, Callihan recovered and tried to piledrive her. RVD broke it up and took down Callihan. He went to hit a five star frog splash on a chair, but Callihan tossed the chair on RVD, taking him out instead. He hit the cactus special on Forbes and pinned her. 

– Gia Miller interviewed Ace Austin and Madman Fulton. Austin said that last week, he pinned Chris Sabin and thus, they are next in line for the tag team titles. The North interrupted and told them that they run this division and that Austin got the pin because The North did the work. Page and Alexander challenged Austin and Fulton to a match next week.

– Josh Mathews and Madison Rayne announced matches for next week, including The North vs. Ace Austin and Madman Fulton, Johnny Swinger vs. Fallah Bahh to become Bravo’s best man, Rosemary & Taya vs. Nevaeh & Havok, and The Rascalz vs. The Good Brothers. 

Tenille Dashwood (with Kaleb with a K) defeated Jordynne Grace

Dashwood started to strike Grace, but as soon as Grace got a hold of Dashwood, she started whipping her from corner to corner, clotheslining and tossing her around until Dashwood was forced to leave the ring. Grace tried to follow with a baseball slide, but Dashwood managed to dodge, spinning Grace around and slamming her down on the floor.

Back in the ring, Dashwood had control and worked over Grace with stomps, kicks, and quick pin attempts. Dashwood hit a draping DDT for a two count, and then went back to stomps afterward.

Dashwood went for a suplex, but Grace blocked and hit a back elbow. She went for a powerslam, but Dashwood escaped and dropped her with a reverse DDT for another two count. She went for a submission, but Grace powered out, caught Dashwood with a kick and went for another powerslam, but Dahswood escaped. Grace started chasing the Grace Driver, but Dashwood kept blocking, so Grace started hitting close distance clotheslines over and over until Dashwood was down. Grace followed with a couple of shouldertackles and a Michinoku driver for a two count. 

Grace went for a superplex, but Dashwood dropped her into a tree of woe. Dashwood slapped her, hit a double foot stomp and then followed with the Taste of Tenille for a two count. Dashwood went for a double underhook, only for Grace to power out and hit a big spinebuster for another two count. 

Dashwood escaped from a fireman’s carry attempt. Grace went for an O’Connor roll, but Dashwood still blocked. Grace landed a backfist and set up the Grace driver, but got distracted by Kaleb, allowing Dashwood to hit her running kick finisher for the win in a pretty good match.  

The end of the show saw Eddie Edwards being attacked in the dark.

Final Thoughts — 

This was a really good show by Impact. We got many storyline developments towards both Victory Road and Bound For Glory. There wasn’t a lot of in-ring work, but what we had was good.

Impact World title match announced for Bound for Glory

A Impact World title match has been announced for Bound for Glory.

Eric Young will defend the title against Rich Swann. After announcing his retirement following the events of Slammiversary, Swann told Scott D’Amore tonight on Impact that he wanted to unretire and face Young for the championship, as it was Young that destroyed his knee at Slammiversary back in June. Young also attacked Swann after Swann announced his retirement on Impact weeks later.

D’Amore told Swann that he was not cleared by the doctors. Swann countered that he would be ready by Bound for Glory, and that he already has a pin over Young, as it was him who eliminated Young at Slammiversary. He told D’Amore that he didn’t care if he ended up crippled, he wanted the World title match.

Young then came down and struck D’Amore, leading Swann to attack Young, forcing Young to retreat. D’Amore then announced the title match for Bound for Glory.

Bound for Glory will take place on October 24.

X-Division title match set for next Impact Wrestling

The no. 1 contender for the Impact X-Division Championship will both be decided and get their title opportunity on next Tuesday’s Impact Wrestling.

After weeks of making TJP, Trey Miguel and Chris Bey face each other to avoid facing them himself, X-Division champion Rohit Raju will finally have to defend the title against one of them. The three men confronted Rahit again after Miguel defeated TJP Tuesday, each making their case to face Raju. He suggested all three face each other in a three way with the winner facing him.

In another featured match, Tenille Dashwood will be in action for the first time since returning to Impact Wrestling against former Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace. The two have been circling each other since Dashwood’s return and Grace was happy to deliver the news of the match personally to Dashwood Tuesday during a photo shoot.

In the only other announced match, Kimber Lee will face Susie. The latter teamed with Kylie Rae on Tuesday’s show in win over Lee and Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo to extend a storyline that has played out over the last few weeks.

Impact Wrestling results: Eight man tag team action

Impact Wrestling returns from Nashville, TN for this week’s episode. The show opened with a graphic for Barry Scott, who the show was dedicated to.

The opening video recapped Eric Young’s attack on Eddie Edwards and the subsequent old school rules match with Tommy Dreamer from last week, which led to Rich Swann’s return.

Kylie Rae & Susie defeated Deonna Purrazzo & Kimber Lee

Purrazzo and Rae started the match with a lockdown. Purrazzo quickly gained advantage with her technical skill, and as much as Rae had a chance to reverse, Purrazzo still had the advantage. Rae nonetheless went for a small package for a two count, enraging Purrazzo who tagged out. 

Kimber Lee came in and got taken down by Rae with a rana and an arm drag into an armbar before tagging in Susie. The babyfaces hit a couple of running clotheslines on Lee, ending with a double bulldog for a two count. Susie held her own against Lee, but Purrazzo got her with a knee to the back allowing Lee to hit a big boot for a two count. 

Lee, now in control, locked a deep single leg and a couple of clubs to the back. Purrazzo tagged in for a double suplex and a near fall. Purrazzo punished Susie with strikes while Susie would find some hope spots, such as a sunset flip pin out of nowhere for a two count. Purrazzo and Lee, however, kept her down. 

Susie started to make a comeback with punches, hit an atomic drop, and a flatliner to get Purrazzo off and tag in Rae, who came in hot against Kimber Lee. Rae went for the Kylie special, but Lee blocked it, so instead Rae did a cartwheel to escape Lee and superkicked her, hit a cannonball, and got a two count when Purrazzo broke it off. Rae got rid of Purrazzo from the ring, but Lee was there to hit a German on Rae. 

Susie tagged in, but went straight into another German Bridge by Lee for a two count. Lee went for the swanton bomb, but Susie hit the arachrana and the panic switch for the win. 

After the match, Susie had some Su Yung episodes, but Kylie Rae calmed her down. 

Josh Matthews and Madison Rayne ran down tonight’s card and told us that Rich Swann is in the arena, ready to address the audience.

Backstage, Rohit Raju was confronted by Trey Miguel, who told him that he’d been dodging everyone. Trey asked Rohit for a shot, but Rohit told him that it was still between TJP and Bey who were in front of the line. Trey told Rohit that he wanted a shot after he defeated TJP tonight.

In another part of the arena, Kiera Hogan and Tasha Steelz approached John E. Bravo, who told them they weren’t the best men. He picked Fallah Bahh, who happened to be there. 

XXXL (Acey Romero & Larry D) defeated The Deaners (Cody Deaner & Cousin Jake)

Acey and Cody started the match, with the latter offering a truce, but Acey wasn’t having it and instead kicked him, tossed him to the corner, and along with Larry D, sent him flying and into an Acey senton for an early two count. 

XXXL worked over Deaner for a while, mostly strikes, clubbing him on the back to keep him down. Cody eventually managed to escape and tagged in Jake, who hit a corner spear and sidewalk slam on Larry D for a two count. Deaners double-teamed Acey and went to finish Larry D, but Acey recovered and pounced Cody out of the ring. 

Cousin Jake slammed Acey Romero, but Larry D was there to knock him out with a straight right to the face for the win.

Trey Miguel defeated TJP

Match started with a great sequence of chain wrestling into pin exchange into a battle for wrist control and into the fast-paced sequence of counters and reversals ending with Trey getting a two count after a standing moonsault. 

TJP came back with some beautiful submission work into a sharpshooter, then transitioned into a last chancery for a submission tease, but Trey made the ropes. TJP hit a senton atomico for another two count. TJP kept working the legs, locking in a knee bar with a butterfly. Trey escaped and went for the crossbody, but TJP was ready with a dropkick. 

TJP went for the corner ten punches, but Trey blocked, hit some cheeky nandos and went for the Trey19, only for TJP to block it. Trey recovered and hit a spinning kick. Followed with a rana to the floor and a tope suicida. 

Back in the ring, Trey went to the top rope, but TJP blocked him and hit a superplex, transitioned into an octopus stretch, but as Trey approached the ropes, TJP transitioned into an ankle lock. Trey made the ropes.

TJP kicked Trey’s hamstrings, hit a knee breaker, but Trey still hit a desperation dropkick. TJP with a big tornado DDT, went for the mamba splash. Trey dodged, hit a standing meteora and a top rope meteora for the 1-2-3.

Commentary sent us backstage to where The North, Ace Austin, and Fulton were taking out The Rascalz. MCMG arrived afterward to check on them. After commercials, a doctor told MCMGs that The Rascalz were not cleared to compete tonight. He gave no answers when Shelley asked about the CT scans. 

Shelley and Sabin were approached by Karl Anderson and Gallows and offered to help. Karl is a machine gun, they are machine guns, it all works out.

Rich Swann came down to the ring, still in crutches. Swann said he wanted to do this in the ring and not an office, and so he called out Scott D’Amore to the ring. Swann told D’Amore that not long ago he had to come down here and retire, but as he was home, he saw the man that killed his career become the Impact World Champion, so Swann requested a chance to get in the ring again and fight EY.

D’Amore told him that he was not cleared by the doctors. Swann said that he will be ready for Bound For Glory and that he has a pin over EY, so he deserves a shot. D’Amore doubled down that he is not cleared and that in his condition, going against EY would leave him in a worse situation. Swann said he didn’t care if he ended up crippled after BFG, he wanted his hands on EY. He begged for the match. 

Before D’Amore could answer, EY came down and struck D’Amore, but in the distraction, Swann jumped at him and took him down, punched him, forcing EY to run away. EY said that Swann won’t leave BFG alive. D’Amore shut them both up and confirmed the match for Bound for Glory.

Taya approached Rosemary and asked her why she wasn’t there with her for the match with Tasha Steelz. Rosemary said that she had been busy doing a resurrection. Taya asked her to join her. Rosemary agreed but first, she had to do some more wedding stuff.

Willie Mack defeated Brian Myers

Mack punched Myers to start the match, hit an armdrag and dropkick before sending Myers to the floor, where he hit a pescado. 

Outside the ring, Myers hit a side leg sweep on the ramp. Mack made it back before the 10 count, but Myers started working over him with a suplex for a two count. Knee to the back and sleeper, but Mack made it to his feet and punched Myers away, only to get his leg swept and Myers went back to controlling the match.

Myers pulled the turnbuckle off and tried to slam Mack, but was blocked. Myers still kept control, taking down Mack with a back elbow, and once again, into the knee to the back and head submission.

Mack powered up and hit a backplex to break Myer’s submission. He hit a clothesline, spinning back elbow, scoop slam, and leg drop for a two count. Mack went for the Samoan drop, but Myers dodged, hit an enzuigiri and big scoop slam for another two count. 

Myers went for a DDT, but Mack countered with an exploder. Myers kicked the rope between Mack’s legs and hit the DDT, but could only get a two count. Myers accidentally ran into the exposed turnbuckle and Mack got him with the stunner for the win. Boring match.

Rosemary approached Havok, who she asked for help to resurrect Mitchell since Havok had done the killing. Havok said she wouldn’t help, so Rosemary had to insist, provoking Havok to get physical with her. Nevaeh pulled Havok off and they left.

Moose went to D’Amore and told him that he needed to do something about ECIII, who had been stalking Moose. D’Amore didn’t believe Moose and told him that maybe this was all in his head. 

ECIII then showed up in a projector telling Moose that the clock was ticking and that he’d destroy the title soon. Moose called the “Demo God” asking about who to call about stolen title belts, and finally Moose knew what he had to go.

Rhino snuck Heath into the arena, they’re gonna try and get some money from Hernandez.

We got a photoshoot with Tenille Dashwood that was interrupted by Jordynne Grace, who asked why she wasn’t wrestling. She told Tenille that they have a match next week.

Kiera Hogan (with Tasha Steelz) defeated Taya Valkyrie

Taya jumped Hogan to start, carrying her to the corner and delivering a couple of boots and kicks to the back. Taya slammed Hogan to the turnbuckle and tossed her to the floor. 

Hogan tried to build some momentum, but Taya easily stopped her with a back elbow and double foot stomp to the back for a two count. 

Hogan caught Taya with a low kick and a running boot for another two count, but when she went for the swinging neck breaker, Taya blocked, hit a big knee, and once again tossed her to the floor.

Taya hit a running clothesline, then a running hip attack to the corner, but when she went for the running knees Tasha pulled Hogan out and distracted Taya, allowing Hogan to run around the ring. Tasha kicked Taya behind the referee. Hogan caught her with a swinging neck breaker and picked up the win. Rosemary never came out to support Taya.

Rhino and Heath approached Hernandez for a rematch. Rhino tricked Hernandez to set with his back to the door so Heath could sneak in and steal the money from the table. Rhino stalled a lot until Heath took the money. Once stolen, Rhino bailed. 

Chris Bey confronted Rohit Raju about the rematch he was owed. Rohit told him that TJP defeated him, and so TJP approached them about it. Rohit eventually called for a three-way number one contender match.

Matthews and Rayne ran down next week’s card with Kimber Lee vs Susie, TJP vs Trey Miguel vs Chris Bey for the #1 contendership of the X-Division title on the line, the number one contender then getting their title match against Rohit Raju, and Tenille Dashwood vs Jordynne Grace.

Ace Austin, Madman Fulton, & The North (Ethan Page & Josh Alexander) defeated The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) & The Good Brothers (Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows) 

Anderson and Ace started the match with the former getting the early upper hand, whipping and striking Ace around. Gallows tagged in and kept working over Ace in their corner. Anderson tagged in again and kept the work, but suddenly, with no provocation whatsoever, Anderson tagged in Sabin the hard way. 

On the other side, Alexander tagged in, who was taken down quickly by Sabin and a couple of MCMG double team moves. Page jumped in and also took a combo by Shelley and Sabin. Ace followed suit and suffered the same fate. Finally, it was Fulton’s turn, who also ended up on the floor. 

Back from commercial, the referee regained control. Shelley and Alexander went at it, but just in time, Page tripped Shelley, which allowed Anderson to cut him off and gain control of the match.

Fulton tagged in and punished Shelley, who tried to chop his way to his corner, but Fulton was unmoved. Fulton and Ace kept working over Shelley, and much like the babyface teams, Ace and Fulton started to have problems with The North on their corner, stealing each other’s tags. 

Page and Josh Alexander worked over Shelley until he managed to hit a dragon screw on Alexander and a backplex on Ace to get the tag to the Good Brothers. 

Anderson took the hot tag and ran down everyone, getting a two count on Page with a big spinebuster at the end. Gallows tagged in, kicked Fulton down to the floor, hit an assisted backplex on Page for another two count. 

GB went for the magic killer, but Josh broke it off. Sabin blind tagged himself in and took out The North with a crossbody and tornado DDT. Sabin sent Ace and Fulton to the floor, followed by a suicide dive.

In the ring, The North attacked Shelley, who managed to counter and, along with Sabin, hit the reverse STF and dropkick combo on Alexander. 

In the end, it was Sabin getting a Northern Pass by The North. Ace Austin, who blind tagged himself in, stole the pin over the tag champs. 

The North were mad that their pin was stolen, and the Good Brothers are mad that they lost because of the MCMGs. We may be heading into a five-way for the tag titles.

Final thoughts —

Ok show by Impact. Mostly focused on advancing storylines towards Bound For Glory, but we did have some strong wrestling on the show.

Impact Wrestling’s Barry Scott, Puppet The Psycho Dwarf pass away

On Thursday, Impact Wrestling announced the passing of arguably its most recognizable voice as well as a wrestler who worked for them in their earliest days.

Barry Scott, the voice of countless videos for then-TNA and Impact, was 65 years old. His final work for the company was earlier this year in an introduction for Moose. In the tweet announcing his passing, Impact shared several of Scott’s most memorable voiceovers. 

The company also announced the passing of Stevie Lee, aka Puppet The Psycho Dwarf who was part of the TNA weekly pay-per-view era. He was also on Half Pint Brawlers, a 2010 TV series that briefly aired on Spike TV. According to a GoFundMe set up for funeral expenses, Lee died unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday. After wrestling, he did some acting work including on the popular FX series American Horror Story.

Six matches, new segment announced for next Impact Wrestling

The next edition of Impact Wrestling will get a reprieve from two straight weeks of going head-to-head with NXT with six matches in addition to a new talk show segment.

In an eight-man tag match, former Impact Tag Team Champions The North will team with Ace Austin and Madman Fulton to take on current Tag Team Champions Motor City Machine Guns and The Rascalz. This was made after The North and Austin/Fulton jumped both the MCMG and Rascalz after their tag title match Tuesday before the Good Brothers ran out to make the save.

In another featured match, Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo will team with Kimber Lee against Kylie Rae and Susie. The match was made during Madison Rayne’s Locker Room Talk segment when Purrazzo and Lee interrupted and issued a challenge.

Finally, Tenille Dashwood will make her Impact in-ring return, accompanied by her new personal photographer Caleb Konley.

Impact Wrestling results: MCMG vs. The Rascalz Tag Team title match

Impact Wrestling returns from Nashville, TN for the first episode since Eric Young dethroned Eddie Edwards and successfully became the Impact World Champion. 

Opening video touched upon ECIII’s threats to Moose; plus Eric Young defeating Eddie Edwards to win the Impact World title.

Eric Young came down to the ring to open the show. EY said that he was a world class wrestler and champion. He said that ever since his return, it was all by design that he’d end up the World champion.

Alisha Edwards interrupted EY and came down to the ring with a mic in hand. Alisha said that EY was a coward for injuring Swann and Eddie, but Eddie wasn’t going to just sit there, he was going to come back and take what was his, like when he came back from taking a baseball in the eye. Alisha said EY hurt her family, to which EY responded that he didn’t care. 

Alisha slapped EY, so he went to hit a piledriver on her, but Dreamer, who gets involved in every feud ever, came down for the save and ran away EY with a kendo stick.

Tommy Dreamer cut a short promo that said that the Edwards and Swann are like their family. He said that when EY decided to leave, it was Swann and Eddie that kept Impact going for him to return. Dreamer said he was using his influence with the company to get a fight with EY tonight. 

Josh Matthews and Madison Rayne introduced the show and ran down tonight’s card.

We saw Moose traveling by plane to where he believes ECIII is holding his TNA World Championship belt. 

Rosemary, Bravo, and Taya talked about their upcoming wedding. Rosemary told Bravo and Taya that they could take care of the wedding planning while Rosemary would resurrect James Mitchell to officiate a demon wedding. 

TJP defeated Chris Bey

Match started with them exchanging strikes when Bey tried to rush TJP, but the latter got the better of Bey sending him flying with an over the head toss and a pancake, quickly followed by going for an armbreaker, but Bey escaped. 

Rohit Raju came out to watch the match.

Bey turned the offense around, catching TJP with an elbow, sending him to the corner. TJP reversed with a rana, an armdrag, and a springboard dropkick to the floor. 

TJP went for the top rope, but Bey pulled the referee over. But when Bey went to attack TJP, he was caught by an armbar. TJP went for another armbreaker, but Bey raked his eyes and dropped him with a clothesline.

Back from commercial, Bey had been working on TJP by stomping on him, getting a two count. Snapmare and diving lariat for another two count. Bey went for a Gory bomb, but TJP rolled through into a yoshi tonic and into a last chancery. Once again, Bey raked TJP’s eyes and caught him with kicks, covering for another two count. 

Bey locked in an abdominal stretch, countered into a backplex by TJP. Atomic bomb and springboard crossbody by TJP, followed by a modified version of the three amigos, and finally the mamba splash. Bey moved away, hit a spinning kick, and into a springboard cutter, but TJP countered into an armbar, rolled over by Bey into a pin attempt. 

Bey got a torture rack into a cutter for yet another two count. Bey tried to slingshot sunset flip, but TJP used the momentum to roll Bey for the pin. Great opener. 

We got a new episode of Locker Room talk with Madison Rayne and the returning Johnny Swinger. The guests this week were Kylie Rae and Susie. Madison asked about Wrestle House, but didn’t really let them answer and implied that Rae went to Wrestle House to dodge Deonna Purrazzo. Speaking of, Purrazzo and Kimber Lee interrupted the interview and challenged them to a tag match. Rae and Susie accepted. Purrazzo and Lee are great.

Bravo was on the phone when Tasha Steelz and Kiera Hogan interrupted him and started bullying him about being invited to the wedding. Bravo brought up Taya and both Steelz and Hogan told Bravo that he needed to be his own man and that they could be their best grooms-women. They are continuing the story that Bravo can’t stand up against Taya.

Brian Myers came down to the ring. He addressed Wilie Mack, telling him that they got off on the wrong foot. He said that he is a superstar so Mack shouldn’t be upset about losing to him, but that Mack should follow the tradition to pay respect to those who paved the way for the new guys like him, and so he called out Mack to shake his hand.

Mack came out and said that he wasn’t there to shake no hands nor be professional, but that Impact gave him a rematch, right there and now. Myers said that he wasn’t even wearing his gear. Mack is the worst promo on Impact.

Brian Myers defeated Willie Mack

Myers tried to get Mack to shake his hand, but Mack refused, so instead he tried to kick him. Mack caught him with a lariat and a back elbow. Myers dropped to the floor, followed by Mack hitting a pescado. 

Myers dodged Mack getting back in the ring, pulled him out again and dropped him on the apron. 

Myers started stomping and punching Mack, hitting a suplex for a two count. Myers locked a headlock for about 3 hours until Mack tried to come back. Myers tried to clothesline Mack, but missed him, giving Mack the opening to come back with a couple of clotheslines and back elbows. Mack hit a leg drop for a two count. 

Mack hit the Samoan drop and moonsault combo for another near fall. Mack went for the stunner, but Myers raked Mack’s eyes, but when he tried to rush Mack, he got taken out by a huge spinebuster. 

Mack ripped Myers shirt off and threw it, making the referee to turn around and get the shirt of the ring, giving Myers the opening to low blow Mack and hit his DDT finisher for the win. Mack looked like a geek.

Gia Miller interviewed Jordynne Grace about last week’s confrontation with Purrazzo. Jordynne said that she had an issue with Tenille about not being on Impact and then just thinking she can come in and get a title shot. Jordynne told Miller to follow her to Tenille’s locker room so they could ask her right there and now. 

The returning Kaleb Conley answered the door instead, he said that he is now Tenille’s personal photographer and that Tenille wasn’t there. They played a vignette for Tenille’s return next week, and went back to Jordynne’s reaction. This was nice. 

Hogan and Steelz planned out how they’d coach Bravo, but Taya confronted them and told them to not talk to Bravo, if they wanted something, they needed to talk to her. She told them they were not invited. Steelz and Taya got face to face and will wrestle each other later tonight. 

Impact World Tag Team Champions Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) defeated The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier & Zachary Wentz) to retain the titles

The Rascalz jumped MCMG with dropkicks while the latter were still mid-entrance, followed by tope suicidas. They hit a couple of running elbows and dropkicks on Shelley, kick combo on Sabin for a two count. 

Dezmond started working over Sabin, got a tag on Wentz for a kick combo and a moonsault for a two count. Shelley blind tagged in and along with Sabin, worked on Wentz’ leg so that he couldn’t even stand up anymore, but he still tried to fight through. MCMG kept the offense on the knee with bars, kicks, and dragon screws. Sabin tagged in and stomped the knees. Shelley hit a rana into a knee stomp, followed by a PK kick from Sabin, and once again, dropped him knee first into the mat.

Shelley locked in a kneebar, and when Dez tried to make the save got caught with an octopus stretch. Wentz finally managed to get Sabin off and hit a standing SSP on Shelley to save Wentz, who hit an enzuigiri to get Shelley off and finally tag out.

Dezmond and Sabin tagged in with the former getting the upper hand with a couple of punches and a kick to Sabin’s spine. Xavier followed with back elbows for a two count. 

Wentz and Shelley got involved with the former taking out the latter, then setting up Sabin for a bridged footstomp for a two count. 

Xavier hit a superkick on Sabin, followed by a jumping knee (the good knee) from Wentz, and went for a hot fire flame, but Sabin moved away, letting Wentz crash and burn. Shelley came back and they hit the reverse STF into a dropkick combo on Xavier, hit the ASCS rush and a new double driver move on Wentz for the win. Great match.

After the match, The North jumped MCMGs and The Rascalz. MCMGs managed to turn things around, but Ace Austin and Madman Fulton came down and attacked them too. The North and Ace & Fulton had a face off before Page told them that each team could get their own Machine Gun to attack. Eventually, The Good Brothers came down and took care of The North, Ace Austin, and Fulton. Rascalz made sure to get the last shot with a couple of dives. Strong display of Impact’s tag team division.

Rob Van Dam and Katie Forbes announced that they got picked for a series, the Whole F’n Talk Show, debuting next week.

We saw Sami Callihan in his computer room cutting a promo about getting his ass kicked last week because Katie Forbes was there, and she’s becoming a pain to deal with. He said that next week, RVD and Forbes are debuting their show, but that he promises not to hack the show because he has other plans. This was kinda bad, not the promo, but the presentation, Callihan has cooled off so much since his feud with Tessa Blanchard.

Taya Valkyrie (with John E. Bravo) defeated Tasha Steelz (with Kiera Hogan) 

Taya and Steelz talked some trash to start the match, but quickly got into strikes with Taya getting the better of Tasha with a shoulder tackle. Taya did some lucha arm drags on Tasha and a running dropkick for a two count. 

Taya was going for a running lariat, but Hogan tripped her, allowing Tasha to get the better of Taya with some European uppercuts and a neckbreaker for a two count. All the while, Bravo is on his phone planning his wedding.

Tasha went for a bulldog, but Taya managed to block and drop her with a sitout powerbomb. Taya confronted Bravo and got annoyed that Hogan was shouting that the wedding was more important than her, so she focused that anger to chop Tasha, hit a pop-up knee for a two count. Tasha hit a big elbow to rock Taya off her feet, but she wasn’t able to follow as Taya hit a huge spear and the road to Valhalla for the win. Taya looked amazing here, total dominance.

After the match, Kiera Hogan jumped Taya, aided by Steelz, but Bravo finally got involved and pulled Taya away. Is this a Taya face turn?

We went back to Moose who went to see his old high school football coach, who he asked for a favor. Moose asked if he had seen ECIII but the coach hadn’t, but before Moose left, the coach told Moose to ‘control his narrative’ and that he had been warned. He ran into several men who wore a hoodie similar to E3 and quickly took them out before leaving.

Impact Plus Flashback Moment of the Week was ECIII & Eddie Edwards vs Moose & Mike Kanellis from 2016.

Rhino and Heath met outside the building talking about last week’s tag team. Rhino told Heath that last week’s stunt kinda upset management, so they talked about what other stuff they can do. Heath said that he needs to start earning some money for more ads and Rhino knew exactly where to get it.

Matthews and Rayne ran down the card for next week, with Purrazzo and Kimber Lee vs Kylie Rae and Susie, Brian Myers vs Mack again, Taya vs Kiera Hogan, The North, Ace Austin, and Fulton vs The Rascalz and MCMGs, and XXXL vs The Deanears. 

Impact World Champion Eric Young defeated Tommy Dreamer in an old school rules match to retain the title

EY rushed Dreamer at the bell, but Dreamer caught him with an arm drag and a couple of scoop slams before going for the kendo stick. EY dodged the attacks and went for the top rope, but Dreamer caught him coming down and sent him to the floor. 

Dreamer pulled out a chain and got it around EY’s eyes. EY came back and attacked Dreamer around the ring. He slammed Dreamer on the apron then rammed him to the ring post. EY pulled the mats and tried to piledriver Dreamer, but was countered with a backdrop. 

Dreamer hit EY with a street sign, pulled out some chairs and went back to the ring where he used some kitchenware to continue the attack. Dreamer set up a superplex onto chairs, but EY blocked him and dropped Dreamer. 

EY, now in control, stomped around Dreamer, going after his head. EY landed a slingshot under the ropes for a two count. EY started using some of the weapons now, hitting Dreamer with a chair on the back, even a second rope steel chair buster, but Dreamer blocked and hit a cutter. 

They exchanged strikes in the middle of the ring until Dreamer hit the atomic elbow and falling elbow for a two count. EY clipped Dreamer’s knee and locked in the figure four leg lock, but Dreamer reached the kendo stick and hit EY until he was released, yet EY kept his offense on the knee with a dropkick. 

EY was whipped into a trashcan, followed by a DDT for another two count. Dreamer brought out a table and set it up on the corner, but EY got him with a low blow before Dreamer could do anything. EY went for the top rope, but now it was Dreamer that dropped him on to the ropes. 

Dreamer went for the DVD to the table, but EY had his hockey mask which he used on Dreamer, followed by the piledriver for the win. One of Dreamer’s better matches as of late. 

After the match, EY went after Dreamer’s knee with a Pillmanizer. Rich Swann came down limping and attacked EY with only one foot. They exchanged some words before the show went off the air.

Final Thoughts — 

Good show by Impact, really strong inside the ring. Storyline wise, they’d set up the seeds heading towards Bound for Glory and it looks promising.

Tag Team title match set for next week’s Impact Wrestling

Next week’s Impact Wrestling on AXS will feature both a Tag Team Title match and a no. 1 contender’s match for the X-Division title.

Impact Tag Team Champions Motor City Machine Guns will face The Rascalz, a match made on Tuesday’s show following The Rascalz’s win over Ace Austin and Madman Fulton. Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin came out after their win and offered them a rematch from Slammiversary so they could be more prepared instead of surprised.

The Rascalz are 0-4 in tag team title matches dating back to July 2019 while the Machine Guns will be looking for their second tag title defense since defeating The North for the belts in mid-July.

The other title match will feature former X-Division Champion Chris Bey defending against TJP. This was made Tuesday when TJP asked current champion Rohit Raju for a title shot, but Raju said the former champion (Bey) is first in line so TJP can skip the line with a win next week.

A Locker Room Talk segment featuring Madison Rayne interviewing Kylie Rae and Susie was also announced for next week.

Eric Young wins World title on Impact Wrestling

Eric Young is the new Impact World champion.

Young defeated Eddie Edwards to win the championship on tonight’s episode of Impact Wrestling. The finish of the match had Young strike Edwards with the hockey mask he wore to the ring, then pinned Edwards following a piledriver.

After the match, Young continued to attack Edwards, focusing on the leg that Edwards had injured earlier in the match. Referees eventually had to pull Young off Edwards.

Young has been pushed as one of the top heels on Impact Wrestling following his return to the company at Slammiversary. After being eliminated during the five way match for the Impact World title, Young reinjured Swann’s leg, which led to his in-storyline retirement.

Edwards won the Impact World title that night. He had been defending the title in open challenge matches in recent weeks. Young challenged Edwards to a title match last week.

This marks Young’s second reign with the championship. He last won the title on the April 10, 2014 edition of Impact, defeating Magnus (Nick Aldis).

Impact Wrestling results: Eddie Edwards vs. Eric Young

Impact Wrestling returns from Nashville, TN for the fallout of Emergence, where Deonna Purrazzo defeated Jordynne Grace in a 30 minute ironman match. 

Opening video focused on the World title match between Eddie Edwards and Eric Young and RVD vs. Sami Callihan for tonight. 

Sami Callihan defeated Rob Van Dam (with Katie Forbes)

Callihan attacked RVD during his entrance and thus started the match with a brawl outside the ring, tossing Rob to the ringpost and into the guardrails. Katie Forbes distracted Callihan allowing Rob to recover and take down Callihan before sending him into the ring.

Once in the ring, Rob distracted himself with Forbes again, giving Callihan the opening to hit a sole kick and regain control, yet there again was Forbes to trip Callihan, not once, but twice when he tried to hit a rolling senton from the apron. Despite all of this, the referee still won’t send her to the back.

RVD started working over Callihan outside the ring, against the ring post and laid out Callihan with the draping leg drop on the rail.

Back in the ring, Rob hit an atomic drop and a bad facebuster, followed by a rolling thunder, but Sami was ready to get the knees up. Callihan hit a toe kick and a low cutter, followed by a couple of clotheslines. Callihan went for the cactus special, but once again Forbes was there to distract which allowedRVD to kick him from behind, followed with the split-legged moonsault for a two count. 

RVD went for the 5-star frog splash, but was cut off by Sami, who hit a hangman style neckbreaker for a two count. Callihan went for a piledriver, and yes, once again Forbes distracted Callihan. RVD rolled up Sami, but Sami reversed and took the win with a roll up himself. 

After the match, Forbes provoked Sami, so he chased after her, but Rob jumped him and they both stomped him. Forbes hit a running hip attack onto a chair on Sami’s face, followed by the Van Daminator. 

Throughout the match, commentary kept bringing up that it seems like age has finally catched up to Rob and that Forbes needs to be banned from ringside.

Josh Matthews and Madison Rayne ran down tonight’s card.

Backstage, Hernandez defeated Bahh in an arm wrestling match. Reno Scum approached them and confirmed to Hernandez that Heath is nowhere to be seen and that they want more money to take out Rhino tonight. Hernandez accepts.

Over at Wrestle House, Rosemary and Taya cut promos about what had been happening to them. Taya came off as a total babyface because it was both Rosemary and Bravo that lied to her and Rosemary got caught keeping everyone locked because of her own personal agenda.

On the other side of the house, everyone is waiting for Swinger to come out dressed as Crazzy Steve, as per last week’s stipulation. Susie got him to finally come out and it wasn’t even that bad.

Dreamer separated Bravo to tell him that he’d be the referee for the Taya vs Rosemary match. 

Rhino defeated Reno Scum (Luster The Legend & Adam Thornstowe)

Match started at the ramp where Reno Scum tried to attack Rhino, but Rhino was ready, took them down, and took them to the ring. Unfortunately, the numbers game was too much and Rhino got cut off quickly afterwards by Luster, setting him up for a footstomp by Thornstowe.

Back from commercial, Reno Scum had been working over Rhino with quick tags and their usual clubbing style. Thornstowe got a two count with a standing moonsault. Luster with a falling headbutt. 

Rhino finally made a comeback, clotheslining Luster to the floor, but when he set up for the Gore, Luster pulled him out of the ring, only to get Gored instead. Back in the ring, Adam Thornstwe took his belt and was going to attack Rhino, but suddenly whoever was carrying the camera, put it down, got in the ring, and hit the wake up call on Thornstowe, allowing Rhino to pick up the win.

Afterwards, the cameraman unmasked and revealed himself to be Heath. At that point D’Amore came out with security to kick him out. 

ECIII cut a promo on Moose, giving him an opportunity to claim the TNA Championship, and if he didn’t, ECIII would start sending pieces of the title until he would. Moose went out looking for him. 

Backstage, The Good Brothers are telling stories to some of the crew. Dezmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz walked up, but said they had a match with Ace and Fulton tonight and had to get ready. The Good Brothers said they had all the advice they needed since they had already kicked their butts. Rascalz left and GB continued their story.

Over at Wrestle House, everyone tried to give Bravo some advice. The Deaners confronted Larry D about their stolen beer. 

Wrestle House: Susie defeated XXXL (Acey Romero & Larry D) & The Deaners (Cody Deaner & Cousin Jake)

Acey tried to bring up the truce, but Larry was done with the truce. Deaners and XXXL started brawling in the kitchen and onto the rest of the house. Acey and Cody Deaner decided to play ping pong to settle their differences. The brawl continued when Acey and Cody headed to the basement by elevator and stairs respectively. Cody tried to use a bicycle to attack Acey, but missed and crashed into a car.

In another area of the house, Cousin Jake went for the longest spear ever from one side of the house to the other, but Acey made it back in time to save Larry D. 

The brawl continued into XXXL’s room, where Cody Deaner discovered their stolen beer. Cody powered up from the anger and hit the give’er to Larry D, but Acey was there to pounce Cody into the bed.

Acey helped Larry D up, but instead rose Lawrence D, the brainwashed version of Larry D, who knocked out Acey with some Ringrust perfume. Cousin Jake joined them and Fujied Lawrence, but right as he was going to follow up, he got interrupted by Susie, who was mad the truce was broken. 

We then saw Susie leave the room and close the door behind her. When Dreamer looked into the room, he got scared and declared Susie the winner of the match, who now had all her hands covered in blood. This was all fun and funny, i’m perfectly ok with this.

The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier & Zachary Wentz) defeated Ace Austin & Madman Fulton 

Fulton and Xavier started the match with the latter using his speed to dodge Fulton’s charges, but soon enough Fulton cornered Xavier, who tried to strike back, but only got a full palm on the face and tossed into the other corner. Xavier managed to land on his feet and tried for a crucifix pin, but Fulton blocked and set up for a powerslam. Xavier escaped and tagged Wentz, and together brought down Fulton with a kick combo that ended with a footstomp by Wentz for a two count.

Wentz tried to continue the momentum by kicking Fulton, but was blocked instead. Fulton started tossing around Wentz before tagging in Ace for a springboard leg drop and a two count. Ace Austin did the paper cut trick on Wentz, set up Wentz for Fulton to hang on the corner and get a two count. Wentz tried to strike Fulton down, but it didn’t work, so instead he hit a jumping knee to get Fulton off him and jump to his corner for the tag.

Ace and Xavier tagged in, Dezmond kicked Ace to his corner, Fulton to the floor, striking combo and dropkick to the back of Ace’s head for a two count when Fulton broke it up. Wentz tricked Fulton to the floor, superkicked and hit a footstomp on Ace. Dezmond and Xavier hit dives on Fulton to get him off his feet, then followed with a splash from Xavier to Ace for the win.

After the match, the Motor City Machine Guns came out to offer them a rematch from their Slammiversary match since The Rascalz were surprised that day and still gave them a hell of a match. They now wanted a match when the Rascalz would be prepared. Ace Austin and Fulton attacked The Rascalz before they could answer, but MCMG made the save.

Motor City Machine Guns vs The Rascalz next week for the tag titles.

We saw Deonna Purrazzo arrive and berate some of the talent for their lack of fashion decency for her black tie celebration tonight. She asked Kimber Lee for support in case Jordynne Grace tried to crash the party.

TJP approached Rohit Raju. TJP said he wanted a shot at the X-Division title, but Rohit told him that he had to wait since Bey was first in line, being the former champion. Rohit told him that if he can beat Chris Bey, then TJP can skip to the front of the line.

Wrestle House: Taya Valkyrie defeated Rosemary

Taya talked trash to Rosemary, telling her that she wasn’t scared of her and her Hot Topic attire. Rosemary talked trash about Slamtown, and so they started trading slaps that turned into punches soon after. 

Rosemary went for the upside down, but Taya broke off and kicked Rosemary, followed with a running hip attack and double knees for a two count. 

Rosemary tackled Taya to the corner then hit a northern lights suplex for a two count. Rosemary speared Taya, but Taya was able to return with one of her own before they both kicked each other simultaneously. 

Rosemary accidentally speared the ringpost, leading Taya to hit the road to Valhalla for the win. 

After the match, Rosemary accepted her defeat and said that everyone could leave, but before that, Bravo proposed to Rosemary. Bravo said that she lost her match and that he’ll be Taya’s errand boy, but he still wanted to get married to Rosemary. Taya gave them her blessing. Susie and Kylie were really excited about this. Rosemary said yes. Johnny Swinger was proud because Bravo kept both women in his life.

They’re all finally going back to the Impact Zone. This was all a storyline to build to a Taya vs Rosemary match at the end. Wow.

Back at Impact, the roster is out for the black tie affair. Kimber Lee is the host and introduces the guest of honor — “The Virtuosa” Deonna Purrazzo.

Deonna thanked them all to commemorate becoming the first ever ironwoman in Impact history. She had some backhanded comments for the attendees, but they all toasted for her nonetheless. She said that she was the greatest technical women wrestler in the world and no one would ruin her night. Almost by prompt, Jordynne Grace came out. 

Grace said she wasn’t here to ruin the party, she was here to congratulate her. Deonna took her to the limit, but she wasn’t backing down now. Suddenly, Tenille Dashwood made her anticipated return. 

She said was taken aback that they had organized a black tie affair for her return. She said that she was back and going after Purrazzo’s title. Tenille said that she is not Jordynne Grace and Purrazzo has never beaten her. Jordynne came back telling Dashwood that no one had beaten her because she’s never there, and before things could be chaotic between the three, out of nowhere, Rosemary teleported everyone from Wrestle House into the ring. Yes, you read that right.

Deonna tried to attack Kylie Rae, but was tossed out of the ring instead. Kimber Lee tried to attack them, but Rae hit her with a superkick. Kylie Rae took the Knockout’s title and posed with it before giving it back respectfully. This was all good up until the return of Wrestle House, Purrazzo, Lee, and Jordynne were all great, Dashwood I never really know if she’s acting, or if that is her real promo skill level.

Gia Miller interviewed Brian Myers about defeating Willie Mack. Myers said that it wasn’t that hard, but next week, he was going to offer him to accept the defeat like a man. Moose interrupted him asking for ECIII and Myers got annoyed he was interrupted.

Matthews and Rayne ran down the matches for next week. We have Locker Room Talk with Kylie Rae and Susie, Chris Bey vs TJP for an X-Division title shot, and Motor City Machine Guns defend the titles against The Rascalz.

Eric Young defeated Impact World Champion Eddie Edwards to become the NEW World Champion

Eddie rushed at EY to start the match, hit an inverted atomic drop and a belly-to-belly, but followed with punches instead of a pin attempt. Eddie started chopping EY down, hitting headbutts. EY caught him with a low kick and got some strikes in himself, but it wasn’t long before Eddie got him with a chop again. EY had to rely on jumping to the apron and snapping Eddie’s neck on the ropes to get himself a breather. 

They exchanged punches and clotheslines before the match spilled to the floor, where Eddie dropped EY with a clothesline. They fought on the apron where Eddie tried to suplex EY, but was countered and instead EY hit a neckbreaker on the apron followed by a dropping knee to the neck for a two count. 

Eddie tried to chop away, but EY was now in control and took him down with another neckbreaker. He stomped on Eddie’s neck, stood on it against the ropes, then hit another neckbreaker for a pin attempt. Eddie managed to hit a desperation blue thunder bomb to finally stop EY’s momentum.

Eddie started making a comeback with punches and chops. EY hung Eddie from the top rope, but Eddie came back with a step-up kick and a backpack stunner for a two count. 

Eddie set up a superplex, but EY blocked it off and punched Eddie off, followed by a diving elbow for a two count. They traded more punches and chops ‘in the middle of the ring until Eddie backed him off to the corner. EY tried to snap Eddie’s neck on the ropes again but Eddie was ready and caught him with a high kick and a plancha to the floor, but it seemed that Eddie’s knee buckled when he landed. 

Back in the ring, EY chased the piledriver, but Eddie blocked and hit the tiger driver for a two count because Eddie’s knee hurt and he couldn’t properly pin EY.

EY rolled out of the ring, but Eddie got him with a second tope suicida, once again putting pressure on his knee. 

EY went for the title belt, but the referee was there to take it away, yet the distraction was enough for EY to grab his hockey mask and smack Eddie right on the head behind the referee’s eyes. EY hit a piledriver and picked up the win and won the World title. Good match, but an underwhelming title change.

After the match, EY went after Eddie’s leg with a kneebar until security pulled him off. 

The end of the show saw Moose enter ECIII’s locker room, where he discovered that ECIII had been stalking him. Moose followed a map and knew where he would find ECIII. This is getting kinda wacky.

Final Thoughts — 

Good show, we had some big developments going on tonight, even if there was also a lot of wackiness going on.

Impact Wrestling results: Emergence night two

Impact Wrestling returns from Nashville, TN for chapter two of Emergence, main evented by the first ever 30 minute Knockout ironman match between the Knockout’s champion Deonna Purrazzo and her challenger, Jordynne Grace. Also tonight, Eddie Edwards defends the Impact World Championship in an open challenge.

The opening video was a rundown of tonight’s two big title defenses. 

Impact World Champion Eddie Edwards defeated Rob Van Dam (with Katie Forbes) to retain the title

They started up with a lock up and some quick wrestling for wrist control but Eddie hit an atomic drop and belly-to-belly to send RVD to the floor to recover. Eddie tried to follow with a baseball slide, but Rob was ready for him, slammed him around a bit before sending him back to the ring. Rob instead of following up, was distracted by Forbes that wanted some kissing, allowing Eddie to once again try for the dive and succeed.

Eddie was starting to get the better of Rob, but Katie distracted him and allowed Rob to ram Eddie face-first into the ring post, to drop him on the guardrail for the leg drop from the apron. 

Finally, back at the ring, Eddie and Rob traded strikes, but once again Katie interfered while Rob distracted the referee, setting up Eddie for the split-legged moonsault for the two count. 

Eddie hit a blue thunder bomb but wasn’t able to follow up with a pin. Rob rolled up Eddie with some body-scissors for a two count. Eddie hit the tiger driver, but RVD kicked out at two.

Eddie went for a top rope frankensteiner, but Rob blocked twice, dropping Eddie on the ropes for a big jumping kick and rolling thunder. RVD went for the 5-star, but Eddie moved away, hit the BKP and picked up the win to retain the title. Ok match, one of Rob’s better as of late.

After the match, Eric Young rushed the ring and attacked Eddie Edwards from behind. He told Eddie that he was taking next week’s title shot. 

Josh Matthews and Madison Rayne ran down tonight’s card. 

Over at Wrestle House, Taya organized a team-building exercise, a toga party. Johnny Swinger is wearing a fantastic leopard print toga. Also, Swinger has started ‘Fuji-ing’ people, meaning that he throws powder in people’s eyes and he plans to take out all the men in the house to have all the ladies for himself.

Taya was somewhat inebriated in the party and bullied Kylie Rae. Bravo was apparently sad in his room because Larry D and Rosemary are out on their own. The Deaners and Acey Romero are still having problems over stolen beer, and finally Swinger accidentally Fuji’d Crazzy Steve. Tommy Dreamer declared a blindfold match, with the loser having to dress as the winner next week.

Wrestle House: Crazzy Steve defeated Johnny Swinger in a blindfold match

They did a bad joke with a horn that Steve had. Swinger asked for help from the roomies, but they weren’t much help and only led him to a roll-up from Steve. Bad, but at least it was short.

Backstage, Eddie Edwards was out looking for EY, but he’s nowhere to be seen.

We got a great commercial for Bound For Glory featuring EY.

Rhino cut a promo on Reno Scum, challenging them to a tag team match and he wanted Heath as his tag team partner. Rhino is still great.

Eddie headed to the ring and called out Eric Young to have their title match right there and then. EY came out and called Eddie pathetic. He told Eddie that he was five steps ahead of Eddie and that things were gonna go down by his design. He said his attacks on Swann were orchestrated. Eddie told EY that their title match would be next week, but the ass-whooping would start tonight, and thus they brawled and got into a pull-apart in which Eddie accidentally knocked down Scott D’Amore. Good little angle to add some heat to this match.

Gia Miller interviewed Rohit Raju about his title win. Rohit said that he manipulated Chris Bey and now he’s the X-Division champion. He said that he had been a victim of the political games, and so he got himself in a match. He said he’d give opportunities to everyone who never gets them.

We got a new episode of Locker Room Talk with Madison Rayne and The Rascalz as the special guest hosts. They’re having a miscommunication between pot and decoration, but Rayne didn’t let them smoke.

The special guests were Madman Fulton and Ace Austin. Madison brings up the Good Brothers defeating them, causing The Rascalz to laugh at Fulton and Austin. Fulton got hot and wanted to come to blows, but he was calmed down by Ace. It’s nice to see two teams antagonize each other without doing the usual wrestling shtick that leads to fights.

The Rascalz invited Madison Rayne to the treehouse, but she refused. This was all good.

We got a promo by Sami Callihan in his computer room. He blamed RVD over his loss against Eddie Edwards and thus not being world champion. He said that tonight, RVD lost because he is the one now hunting RVD’s head. He said that next week, he’ll be waiting for RVD in the ring.

We got a promo by ECIII, recapping his first world title win over Kurt Angle, saying that being champion was the happiest moment in his life, his greatest achievement, and he couldn’t let it go. He said that everything after that was downhill and that as long as this championship existed, he wouldn’t be able to move on, but he didn’t know how. He invited Moose to join him in destroying the title. This was kinda confusing.

Brian Myers defeated Willie Mack

They started with some counters and reversals on wrist control until Mack caught Myers with a shoulder tackle and an armdrag to send Myers to the corner to recoup. 

Myers caught Mack with a surprise knee to the gut, cutting off Mack with some strikes and choked him against the ropes, but Mack came back with a rana and dropkick combo. Myers started to big time Mack, which ended with them trading strikes and going into the ropes where Myers snapped Mack’s throat against the ropes for a two count. 

Now in control, Myers worked over Mack’s throat with a sleeper. He swept Mack’s leg for a two count, and went back to a knee to the back and crossface combo. 

Mack surprised Myers with a sunset flip pin, but Myers kicked out and once again brought Mack down with a big elbow and went back to the crossface. Myers decided to go for a running attack, only to get surprised by a desperation sky high from Mack.

Mack hit a clothesline, spinning back elbow, scoop slam, and leg drop for a two count. Mack hit the Samoan drop and moonsault combo for another two count. Myers went for the top rope, but Mack stopped him. They traded some strikes, but it was Myers that dropped Mack and followed with a diving elbow for a two count. 

Myers went for a DDT, but Mack dodged, only to take a spinning kick for a two count. Myers started talking trash to Mack, who responded with a strike and a book end, but Myers reversed, rolled over Mack, took the pulled the tights and stole the win. Ok match.

We got a promo by Heath calling for the fans to make #Heath4Impact to trend so he’d get the chance to back up Rhino next week. 

Back at Wrestle House, The Deaners are talking about Larry D’s recent changes. Rosemary joined the party and was heading out with Larry D, who was now calling himself Lawrence D, before Alisha Edwards stopped her. She called out Rosemary for trying to make Bravo jealous and she was breaking his heart. Taya got drunk and passed out, giving Bravo some free time to go and take Rosemary back. Rosemary was about to break up with Lawrence D anyway, but Bravo jumped in, slapped Larry D out of the hex, and thus, Dreamer called for match time.

Wrestle House: Larry D defeated John E. Bravo

Bravo tried to elbow Larry D early, but didn’t do much damage and instead got taken down with one headbutt. Larry punched Bravo and knocked him out with one strike for the win.

After the match, Bravo came clean and told Rosemary that he had feelings for her. He told Taya the truth about him and Rosemary. Taya blamed Rosemary that they were all trapped in Wrestle House. She challenged her to a winner takes all match next week. Rosemary didn’t understand what ‘all’ meant, but Valkyrie mentioned that  it included Bravo.

Next week we have Sami Callihan vs Rob Van Dam, Ace Austin & Madman Fulton vs The Rascalz, and Eddie Edwards vs Eric Young for the Impact World title.

Knockout’s Champion Deonna Purrazzo defeated Jordynne Grace (2-1) in a 30 minute ironman match to retain the title

Lock up to start the match. They remained in a stand still for some time, even after Grace went for a roll up, they still maintained and got up while locked up. Jordynne broke it up and took control of the wrist. Purrazzo reversed, but Grace quickly broke out with an armdrag. Purrazzo started selling her arm.

Purrazzo took down Grace with a headlock, but Grace reversed it to leg-scissors over the neck. Tight control, but Purrazzo escaped with a headstand. Grace went for the headlock but Purrazzo escaped,  only for Grace to connect with a shoulder tackle and a couple of arm drags. Grace blocked a kick by Purrazzo, dropped her, and locked in a single leg Boston crab. Purrazzo made the ropes.

Back from commercial, Jordynne was in control, whipping Purrazzo from corner to corner. Purrazzo escaped and played a bit of cat and mouse, tricking Jordynne into a big boot to the face to finally cut her off. Purrazzo slammed Jordynne’s head on the apron before tossing her back in the ring and started to work over Grace’s arm.

Purrazzo snapped the arm over and over. Stomped on the elbow, snapped it over the ropes, dropped her on the shoulder, and sneaked pin attempts in between. Jordynne would try to strike herself to safety, but Deonna wouldn’t break the armbar until Grace made the ropes.

Deonna hit a couple of short-hand clotheslines for a two count. 

At this point, there was 10 minutes to go and they were still 0-0, Purrazzo stomped on Grace’s fingers. Purrazzo kept finding ways to snap every joint in Grace’s arm and back into the armbar or kimura position. 

Jordynne finally punched Deonna off of her and started using her good arm to attack with elbows and clotheslines. She went for a superplex, but Deonna pushed her down, only to take a big palm strike from Jordynne and a second rope suplex, but Grace couldn’t follow up with a pin.

Both women started trading strikes in the middle of the ring with Grace getting the upper hand and dropping Deonna with a couple of shoulder tackles, followed by two sentons for a two count. Jordynne got Deonna’s back and locked up a sleeper with leg scissors for a submission fall. Jordynne Grace is 1-0 with 5 minutes left.

Grace followed up with a body attack, but Purrazo countered with a running knee and a reverse STO and into the Koji clutch, but Grace made the ropes. Deonna stomped on Grace in desperation, chopped her, but Grace made a comeback with chops and went for the Grace driver, which Deonna fought free from. Jordynne rushed Deonna on the corner but accidentally took out the referee when Purrazzo pulled him in between them. Jordynne Grace hit the Grace driver, but the referee was down and didn’t count the pin. 

Purrazzo, using the distraction, hit Grace with the championship belt and stole her first pin to tie the match 1-1 with only a minute to go.

Purrazzo went for a second pin for a two count, transitioned to the armbar, but Grace broke it off. Purrazzo kicked Grace’s arm off then followed with a big punt kick and a German suplex bridge, but Jordynne kicked out. Purrazzo locked in the Fujiwara armbar and transitioned to the Venus de Milo for a submission win with only 5 seconds left, retaining her championship. Great match, Purrazzo and Grace are fantastic!

Final Thoughts — 

Great show, the main event is a must watch. The rest of the show was a lot of build up towards next week’s show, which also seems to have promise. 

Matches, segments announced for second night of Impact Emergence

More matches and segments have been announced for the second night of Emergence, which will take place next Tuesday.

Eddie Edwards is scheduled to defend the Impact World championship. EC3 will also appear on the program to explain why he is in possession of the TNA World championship. He jumped Moose on tonight’s program and took the title from Moose, who has been calling himself champion in recent weeks.

A match between Brian Myers and Willie Mack was also announced. Announcer Josh Mathews pushed that both men need to pick up a win after both lost high profile matches recently.

The show will be headlined by a 30 minute iron man match for the Impact Knockouts title, with champion Deonna Purazzo defending against Jordynne Grace.

Impact Wrestling results: Emergence night one

Impact Wrestling returns from Nashville, TN for chapter one of Emergence, main evented by the rematch between The North and the current Impact Tag Team Champions The Motor City Machine Guns.

Opening video ran down tonight’s card, making allegory comments about the company’s evolution. 

Rohit Raju defeated X-Division Champion Chris Bey & TJP (with Fallah Bahh) to become the NEW champion

TJP started the match by hitting a pescado on both Rohit and Bey. In the ring, Rohit and TJP had a nice quick sequence of counters and reversals. Once Rohit was taken out, Bey came in and took his place until he found himself draped in the ropes, waiting for a kick from TJP, but Rohit was there to save him, setting up TJP for a second rope elbow.

Bey stomped and punched TJP while Rohit cheered him on. TJP managed to dodge Bey and Rohit and locked a sharpshooter on Bey. Rohit tried to break it, but TJP got him with a northern lights for a pin attempt while he kept Bey in the sharpshooter. TJP broke it up, but hit the Pentagon armbreaker on Bey. 

Rohit cut off TJP and stomped him around for a bit while Bey was out. TJP once again managed to escape and lock a Gory special and a pendulum on both Bey and Rohit respectively. TJP tried to go for Bey’s arm again, but Rohit broke it up and went back to the stomps and falling elbows. 

TJP went for a tornado DDT on Rohit. Bey stopped him, but accidentally took out Rohit with a jumping knee. TJP took down Bey with a springboard crossbody, hit a tombstone piledriver, but he went for the mamba special instead and was taken out by Rohit. 

Rohit and Bey went for a doomsday device, but TJP got a hold of Rohit and hit a superplex instead, locked the octopus stretch, and when Bey tried to break it, he locked a double octopus stretch into a crucifix pin for a two count. 

TJP kicked Bey down, hit a backplex on Rohit, who later recovered and hit a jumping knee on TJP, followed by a running boot, but missed the cannonball. Bey rolled TJP for a two count, kicked him and into a gutwrench pancake for another two count. 

Bey went for the finisher, but got a clutch dagger from TJP instead. TJP chased the detonation kick on either man, but couldn’t land it and instead locked in an STF on Bey, but Rohit was there to save Bey. 

TJP took out Rohit with a springboard dropkick to the floor, a second on Bey, but as he went for the top rope, Bey stopped him. TJP slipped away and went for a superbackplex, but Rohit and Bey blocked him. Rohit dropped TJP and hit the double stomp on Bey instead of TJP to get the pin and win the championship.

Over at Wrestle House, Crazzy Steve and Johnny Bravo are playing with their dolls talking about Taya vs Rae tonight. Steve then said that the people in the house have started to lose their minds. 

In another room, Larry D was getting pretty to go hit on Rosemary. Acey Romero wasn’t happy about it. Acey is a really bad actor.

Backstage, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows cut a promo about Ace and Fulton wanting to get their attention and succeeding. They promised an ass kicking tonight. Pretty good promos.

Josh Matthews and Madison Rayne ran down tonight’s card.

Self-Proclaimed TNA World Champion Moose defeated Trey Miguel to retain the title.

This was speed vs power. It started with Trey going after Moose with strikes, but Moose easily got him by the neck, tossed him to the corner and dropped him with one single chop. Trey tried to come back with kicks, but as soon as Moose got a hand on Trey, he’d toss him around and land a clothesline or uppercut. 

Trey went for a lucha armdrag, but Moose blocked him, set him up on the top turnbuckle, and connected with a great dropkick. Outside the ring, Moose punished Trey with chops and dropped him on the apron. 

Back in the ring, Moose tossed Trey from corner to corner, stomped on in, choked him, and a big fallaway slam when Trey tried to make a comeback. Moose kept this punishment for a while, and when Trey made another comeback, Moose shot him down again with a dropkick and a two count.

At this point, Moose started talking trash and getting cockier than usual, but Trey finally caught Moose with a superkick and a second spinning kick, Trey landed two more low dropkicks and finally had Moose down. Trey went for a springboard DDT, but Moose blocked him initially, but Trey gathered momentum and hit it anyway. 

Trey went for a tope con giro, but Moose caught him in a powerbomb position, rammed him against the guardrail, and hit an apron bomb for the countout win. Trey made it back at 9. Moose went for the lights out, but Trey initially dodged and tried to sunset flip Moose, but Moose simply blocked it, stoop Trey up, hit lights up for the win. Moose was unstoppable.

After the match, ECIII jumped Moose and stole the TNA World Championship.

Backstage, Reno Scum gave Hernandez his money. Hernandez paid them and told them to come see him later for more work. 

We got a video package for Eric Young talking about his career and all he has done. This was great.

Impact Plus Flashback Moment of the week was 2015’s Kurt Angle vs Eric Young stretcher match.

Jimmy Jacobs interviewed Willie Mack about Eric Young. Mack said he was talking about Swann when Brian Myers pulled the camera and Jimmy away for his own interview. Myers said that he was sick of being someone’s good hand, talked trash about WWE, and said that he was taking his career in his hands. Mack jumped Myers for interrupting his interview afterwards.

We got another commercial by Heath, making a plea to get #Heath4Impact trending so he could get hired.

The Good Brothers (Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows) defeated Ace Austin & Madman Fulton

Anderson and Ace started the match with the former in control, with the latter only managing to get a shot for every five Anderson would. Gallows and Anderson kept this initial control with quick tags until Ace surprised Anderson with a school boy and Fulton tagged in.

Fulton successfully cut off Anderson from his corner. Ace tagged in again and Anderson regained control, tagging in Gallows back in.

Fulton and Gallows met in the middle of the ring and started exchanging clotheslines with neither men giving an inch. They traded strikes and Gallows finally got some momentum, but Fulton cameback with a clothesline and rammed Gallow’s head to the turnbuckle.

Ace tagged in again, and once again, the Good Brothers regained control, hit a running clothesline and kick combo. Anderson then distracted himself with Fulton, allowing Ace to dropkick him from behind and take him down. Fulton and Ace hit some double team moves, including a scoop slam into Ace’s knees for a two count. Ace did the paper cut trick on Anderson before going for the same double team move, successfully landing it. They went for it a third time, but this time Anderson escaped, hit a spinebuster on Ace and tagged out.

Gallows came in hot, took out Fulton to the floor, hit a fallaway slam and shoulder tackle on Ace. He followed that with a pump kick and called for a magic killer, but Fulton stopped them. Fulton and Gallows brawled to the floor, leaving Anderson and Ace in the ring, with the latter kicking Anderson down and tagging out. Fulton tossed Anderson like a dart into Ace’s knee for a two count. 

Anderson started to make a comeback with punches and forearms, took down Fulton in the corner, but Ace caught him back with a kick. On the other side, Gallows and Fulton brawled again, with Gallows sending Fulton into the crowd area. 

Gallows tagged in again, hit the magic killer with Anderson on Ace, and picked up the win.

Back at Wrestle House, the group talked about the match. Suddenly the Deaners realized that their beer had been stolen. The suspect Acey Romero and were about to fight, but Susie reminded them about the truce. Larry D started hitting on Rosemary when Bravo walked up, and they agreed to do something next week. Cody Deaner and Cousin Jake are pretty good at this.

Wrestle House: Kylie Rae defeated Taya Valkyrie

Rosemary is the referee for the match. 

Rae wanted to shake Taya’s hand, but Taya said that she trained in Mexico and only slapped her hand away. No handshakes in Mexico.

Taya got Rae’s back early on and pushed her around, making fun of her. Rae came back with the same move and got the better of Taya, also tossing her around and inraging Taya who instead went after Rae with punches. 

Rae hit a great rana and a superkick, but when Rae went for the running attack, Rosemary tripped her and allowed Taya to regain control. She shoved her to the corner where she bit her hand and put pressure on the elbow. 

Taya choked Rae against the ropes, stomped on her, posed for the camera, and shot down Rae every time she tried to strike into a comeback. Suddenly, Rae caught Taya with a lucha armdrag and a superkick for a slow two count. 

Taya hit a great Saito suplex for a two count. Taya rushed at Rae, who moved away, causing Taya to almost take out Rosemary, but when Taya turned around, Kylie caught her with a superkick for the pin and won.

After the match, Crazzy Steve tried to tell Bravo that he was blowing his chances with Rosemary.

Matthews and Rayne ran down the card for next week, including Willie Mack vs Brian Myers, and address from ECIII, Eddie Edward’s open challenge, and the first ever 30 minute Knockout’s Ironman match between Jordynne Grace and Deonna Purrazzo.

Impact Tag Team Championships The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) defeated The North (Ethan Page & Josh Alexander) to retain the titles

Sabin and Alexander started the match for their teams. Sabin went for early strikes, but Alexander easily dropped him. Sabin still used his speed to dodge Alexander and take him down with a jumping calf kick, but when he went for a crossbody, Alexander caught him and took him down along with Page. Shelley went for the save, but Alexander and Page also took him down with a suplex and top rope knee combo.

The North, now in control, worked over Sabin with strikes, chokes, and quick tags. Sabin tried to make a comeback and managed to dodge Alexander, who accidentally took down Page with a forearm. Sabin escaped and tagged out. 

Shelley came in, dropkicked Page to the floor, went after Alexander with strikes and a low dropkick. Page jumped back into the ring, but was met but the double team moves of the MCMGs, followed with a kick combo for Alexander’s knee. 

Back from commercial, Shelley is still in control over Alexander, who is trying to strike his way back to his corner, but Shelley has a deep single leg Boston crab. It took Page to jump in and interfere to break up the submission. The distraction alone was enough for Alexander to recover and kick Sabin off and into Page’s waiting punch. The North hit an assisted DDT for a two count on Shelley.

Page tagged in and cut off Shelley from Sabin, going after Shelley’s back and knee. Alexander and Page both hit backbreakers for a two count when Sabin broke it off. Finally, Shelley managed to counter The North, sending Alexander to the floor and hitting a DDT on Page against the turnbuckle, earning himself the space to tag out.

Sabin came in and took down Page with a jumping forearm and a neckbreaker. Sabin hit a punt kick on Alexander on the apron and followed with a missile dropkick on Page. Sabin hit a tope suicida on Alexander, but Shelley managed to tag in during the jump. Shelley hit an STO on Page with an assist from Sabin’s missile dropkick, but only for a two count. 

Shelley and Page exchanged strikes before Shelley went for a sliced bread #2 that Page escaped. However, Shelley hit both Page and Alexander with an assisted sliced bread for a two count. 

All four men exchanged superkicks, but Alexander hit a German on Sabin, setting up The North’s finisher for a two count as Page’s pin was cocky and weak. The North went for the northern assault, but once again Page was small packaged, similar to the day MCMG took their titles, except this time Alexander was there to reverse it for a two count for the The North.

Shelley went for slice bread #2 again, but Alexander blocked and hit a backbreaker instead. Sabin caught Page with a tornado DDT, but ate a discus forearm by Alexander, who tried the same with Shelley, but Shelley blocked, hit atomic drop, quick reverse STF into dropkick combo by MCMGs, double superkick to Page and tandem running kick before setting up the skull and bones for the win. Another fantastic match between these teams. 

Final thoughts — 

Great show by Impact, good wrestling all around. Night two has less matches announced, but with promising outcomes. 

Brian Myers challenges for World title in Impact Wrestling return

Brian Myers, the former Curt Hawkins in WWE, made his in-ring return to Impact Wrestling Tuesday night and answered World Champion Eddie Edwards’ open challenge in the show’s main event.

While Myers put up a fight, Edwards picked up the victory after hitting the BKP to retain the title in a back-and-forth match.

Myers officially announced his return to the company on the July 21st Impact in a vague vignette. The 35-year-old had a brief run with Impact in 2015 as part of the Global Force Wrestling invasion angle and held the tag team titles for a day with Trevor Lee.

Myers became a free agent when he was released as part of the mass WWE cuts in April. He also made an appearance on Talk’N’Shop A Mania, put on by fellow Impact co-workers and former WWE co-workers Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson.

Myers was part of a recent crop of free agent signings by Impact which includes Gallows, Anderson, Heath Slater, Eric Young, and ECIII.

Updated lineup for Impact Wrestling Emergence

The full card for next week’s Impact Emergence card has been revealed, while a stipulation has been set for night two.

Taya Valkyrie will face Kylie Rae in what will be a Wrestle House match. The two have been stuck in the reality show house for the last few weeks, with Rae calling out Valkyrie on tonight’s show.

The Good Brothers will face Ace Austin and Madman Fulton in a tag team match. Austin and Fulton have been a thorn on Anderson and Gallows’ sides since their debut at Slammiversary.

The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley) will defend their new Impact Tag Team titles against former champions The North (Josh Alexander & Ethan Page). They made their return to Impact at Slammiversary, defeating The North for the titles.

Edde Edwards, successfully defending the Impact World title against Brian Myers on tonight’s show, will defend the Impact World title next week as well. Edwards has instituted an open challenge policy for the title since winning it.

Here is the full card for the first night of Emergence, which takes place next week:

  • Eddie Edwards will defend the Impact title
  • Kylie Rae vs. Taya Valkyrie in a Wrestle House match
  • Moose vs. Trey Miguel for the TNA World title
  • Chris Bey vs. TJP vs. Rohit Raju for the X Division title

  • Motor City Machine Guns vs. The North for the Impact Tag Team titles

Confirmed for the second night of Emergence is a 30 minute Iron Man match for the Impact Knockouts title, with champion Deonna Purazzo facing former champion Jordynne Grace. The second night will take place on August 25.
