Impact Wrestling live results: Tag Team titles on the line

With Bound for Glory less than two weeks away, a Tag Team title match will air on tonight’s edition of Impact Wrestling

The Rascalz (Trey Miguel & Zachary Wentz) are defending their Impact Tag Team titles against Rich Swann & Sami Callihan tonight. The winning team will confirm their place on the Bound for Glory card. Ace Austin & Chris Bey are waiting to challenge for the titles at Bound for Glory.

The long-standing rivalry between Frankie Kazarian and Eddie Edwards will come to an end in a two-out-of-three falls match tonight. The first fall must be won by pinfall, the second fall must be won by submission, and the third fall will be a Last Man Standing match.

Jake Something, Dirty Dango, Jordynne Grace, Champagne Singh, and Eric Young will clash in a five-way match. The winner earns the right to enter last in the Call Your Shot gauntlet at Bound for Glory. The loser must enter first.

Tasha Steelz vs. Courtney Rush is also set for Impact. On BTI, Alan Angels faces off against Laredo Kid.

BTI Preshow

Josh Matthews compared Iceman’s Intel to the scoops Mean Gene would have on his old phone lies, but Matthews then assured the fans that Iceman’s Intel was free though. Iceman reported that Eddie Edwards was upset on a phone call, and we didn’t know who it was.

Alan Angels defeated Laredo Kid

This was a decent match between Angels and Kid, and like most luchadores in Impact, Kid lost here.

Impact Wrestling

The departed Sami Callihan is finishing up his tapings with this world tag team title match, teaming with Rich Swann.

Impact World Tag Team Champions The Rascalz (Trey Miguel & Zachery Wentz) defeated Rich Swann & Sami Callihan to retain

As expected, Callihan ate the pin here as he is on the way out. Good tag team title match, and a good way to protect Swann, who is sticking around.

Despite the ending of this match being predictable given Callihan’s contract status, this was still an excellent tag match, as the Rascalz continue to be the most hateable heels in the company, while Swann and Callihan are very good babyfaces. Swann and Miguel exchanged strikes in the ring, but Wentz cut off Swann.

Wentz held the arms of Swann behind his back and Miguel tried to spray paint into the eyes of Swann, but Swann ducked, and he hit Wentz by accident. Callihan hit a Cactus Driver 97 on Wentz, and I actually bought the nearfall here, but Wentz hit a low blow on a second attempt, and Miguel and Wentz hit the Hot Fire Flame on Callihan for the win.

–Kenny King and Sheldon Jean were backstage and King claimed that Scott D’Amore was ducking him and trying to avoid giving him his contractual rematch with Tommy Dreamer. He also talked about their Heath problem, and he wanted to take Heath out, while threatening to make Heath’s kids pay for their dad’s sins.

–KiLynn King was with Gia Miller and talked about she believed that Jody Threat had no integrity, because Threat was the one who attacked Taylor Wilde with a tire iron. Santino then said it was interesting to him that King knew that Wilde was attacked with a tire iron, as the doctor only told him about it and no one else. King then admitted that she was the one who took out Wilde, because Wilde was dead weight once they lost the tag titles. I guess that plot point has been resolved.

Dirty Dango (w/ Alpha Bravo) defeated Eric Young, Jordynne Grace, Champagne Singh, & Jake Something

This match was weirdly laid out. Young and Something were absent for most of it, and the ending was baffling.

The winner of this match gets the #20 spot in the Call Your Shot Gauntlet at Bound for Glory, while the person pinned has to enter first. Champgagne Singh celebrated clotheslining Jordynne Grace. Dirty Dango and him danced, but soon broke down into trying to pin Grace themselves. Dango and Singh got some endless heat on Grace here, but Singh cut Dango off when he went to the top rope for a guillotine legdrop. Young and Something disappeared for about 5 minutes at this point, but Something came back into start fighting Dango and Singh with Grace.

Eric Young hit a flying elbow on Dango, but Alpha Bravo pulled Young from the ring to make the save. Young punched out Alpha Bravo, and as this happened Vladimir Kozlov, aka Oleg Prudius, walked down to the ring and took out Singh and Young, then headbutt Jake Something, allowing Dango to get the pin. Prudius, Dango, and Bravo celebrated after the match. I’m not sure the signing of the 54 year old Prudius will help Impact, and it is quite weird, but at least it’s only an angle with Dango, so it’s lower card.

–Crazzy Steve talked about finally putting Black Taurus behind him once he faces him next week.

–Mike Bailey announced he was asking for a open challenge next week to anyone on the level of Will Ospreay so he could have a warm up for his match at Bound for Glory.

Tasha Steelz (w/ Deonna Purrazzo) defeated Courtney Rush (w/ Jessicka)

This was a nothing match, but that doesn’t mean it was bad. It was just a match, and there is nothing wrong with this. Steelz should have won, and that is exactly what happened.

Steelz and Rush started the match focusing mostly on the mat, but both went down with a double clothesline after a few minutes. Rush eventually locked a sharpshooter on Steelz, and Purrazzo tried to push the ropes closer to Steelz, but the referee kept a close eye on Purrazzo. Steelz made it to the ropes and then hit a code breaker when Rush tried to pull Steelz from the ropes. Rush missed a spear, and Steelz hit a cutter for the win.

–A video aired of Alex Shelley getting pinned by Hiroshi Tanahashi in NJPW after Josh Alexander accidentally hit Shelley in their six-man tag against Kazuchika Okada, Tanahashi, and Tomohiro Ishii.

–Bully Ray walked up to Steve Maclin and said that Maclin called him soft last week in the locker room, and asked if he really did it again in front of the fans. Maclin confirmed he did. Ray said “Cool” and walked away. I sense violence in Maclin’s future.

Frankie Kazarian defeated Eddie Edwards in a 2/3 Falls Killer Impact Match

Kazarian and Eddie Edwards continue their long history of each producing great matches individually, and do so again together here. This was a great feud ending match, and they made the right call with Kazarian winning in the end. This was the easily the best part of this episode, and I encourage everyone to check it out.

The rules of this match were actually quite simple (queue Scott Hudson) as the first fall was won by pinfall, the second by submission, and the third as a last man standing match. The opening fall of the match was a brawl between both men, with Edwards hitting hard chops, as he does, and Kazarian using his speed to hit legdrops and go for pinfall attempts. Kazarian hit a chop, but Edwards made him pay with several hard chops in the corner that sent Kazarian to the mat.

The fans chanted “You still suck!” after a particularly hard chop. Edwards dodged a springboard legdrop and hit the Boston knee party to win the first fall.

Edwards continued his assault as they went to the ad break, and when they came back both men were exchanging strikes in the middle of the ring, with Edwards hitting hard chops. Edwards slapped Kazarian, which fired him up and he hit several strikes, but Edwards cut him off again with another hard chop. Edwards blocked a chicken wing and hit another hard chop before dumping Kazarian to the floor with a back suplex throw.

Kazarian came up with blood covering his chest from how hard the chops were, but he decided to keep fighting and flipped backwards out of a back suplex. He then hit a sole but and went for a leg submission, but Edwards fought out and got the advantage again. Edwards hit a backpack stunner, but Kazarian sat up and got the crossface chicken wing on Edwards, forcing a tap out.

Kazarian quickly shoved Edwards from the top rope and hit a hurricanrana to the floor. Kazarian began an assault with weapons in the match, busting Edwards open. Edwards got nailed with a garbage can, and the fans popped for it, but not as much as I expected, given the nature of the match. The crowd was not as loud as I would have hoped. Kazarian charged Edwards but Edwards hit a belly-to-belly overhead suplex that sent Kazarian flying into the timekeeper at ringside.

Kazarian and Edwards continued to brawl, but Edwards kept going back to the overhead belly-to-belly on the floor, winding him and causing damage. Edwards threw Kazarian into the ring, but this proved to be a mistake that allowed Kazarian to hit a slingshot cutter. Kazarian set up a table on the floor and had the finish in mind. Edwards managed to hit a hip toss into the steps on Kazarian.

Edwards tried to hit a tiger driver onto the stairs, but Kazarian fought out and hit an unprettier on the steps on Edwards. Kazarian went to put Edwards through a table, but Alisha Edwards nailed Edwards with a kendo stick. Kazarian still fought Edwards off and then hit a Styles Clash on the stage.

Alisha Edwards tried to hit a tornado DDT off the apron on Kazarian, but he caught her and ran around the ring and put her through a table with a spear. In actuality, Kazarian went pretty much back first through the table, protecting Alisha Edwards well, but it got a great reaction from the audience. Kazarian then grabbed Eddie Edwards and hit a fade to black off the apron through a table to the floor. I am worried about how Edwards landed, but he appeared to be fine as Kazarian got up at the count of 9 and Edwards was left in a heap on the floor.

Final Thoughts

This was mostly just a fine episode until the main event. The main event was awesome. The rest of the show was fine, but this was a truly excellent main event. Next week is the go home show for Bound for Glory, so they need to really bring it to sell the PPV.

Impact Wrestling live results: Christian & Josh Alexander team up

Impact World Champion Christian Cage is set to team up with his Bound For Glory challenger Josh Alexander against Ace Austin and Madman Fulton on Thursday’s Impact Wrestling.

This match comes after Alexander got involved in Fulton’s match last week with Christopher Daniels, causing Austin to vent his frustrations to Impact VP Scott D’Amore.

The war between the Bullet Club and FinJuice rages on as El Phantasmo teams with stablemates Hikuleo and Chris Bey to face off against David Finlay, Juice Robinson and Chris Sabin in a six-man tag team match. Sabin joined the fight against the Bullet Club last week, citing that he loves to beat up the group.

As Saturday’s Knockouts Knockdown special approaches, Mercedes Martinez will make her in-ring debut for the promotion when she teams with Tasha Steelz and Savannah Evans to take on Kimber Lee, Brandi Lauren and Lady Frost in a preview for Saturday.

Petey Williams, Black Taurus and Steve Maclin clash in another three-way first round matchup in the X-Division Championship tournament with the winner advancing to Bound for Glory.

Also, Heath will address the Impact faithful following his return last week.

The BTI pre-show will feature Laredo Kid vs. Matthew Rehwoldt.

Laredo Kid defeated Matthew Rehwoldt on BTI

* * * * * * * * * *

Opening video recapped last week’s Eddie Edwards vs W. Morrissey main event street fight that ended with Moose and Morrissey taking out Edwards. Also, Christopher Daniels’ first match on Impact in years.

Bullet Club (El Phantasmo, Chris Bey, & Hikuleo) defeated FinJuice (Juice Robinson & David Finlay) & Chris Sabin

FinJuice and the Bullet Club have been feuding for months now, ever since FinJuice returned, chasing after Jay White. As of late, El Phantasmo made his return to Impact, to reinforce Hikuleo and Bey, so in return, FinJuice recruited Chris Sabin to even the odds. Moreover, The Good Brothers proposed that whoever won this match, could be nominated as #1 contenders for the Impact tag team championships.

Match started with FinJuice and Sabin controlling the action, taking turns to punish ELP, but after some minutes, Robinson was a bit too overconfident trying to take on both ELP and Bey, but he ended up getting cut off from his corner. Hikuleo tagged in, but Robinson was too quick for him and managed to tag out and bring in Finlay.

Hikuleo came close to also cutting off Finlay, but he managed to take on all three men and tag in Sabin, who also had a short flurry of offense. With control of the ring, FinJuice and Sabin all hit dives on their opponents.

Last couple of minutes saw both teams go all tornado tag and take turns hitting signature moves and getting near falls, but at the end, it came down to Sabin and Bey, with the former setting up the cradle shock, but Hikuleo distracted the referee, allowing ELP to low blow Sabin, and the art of finesse from Bey for the win. Really good opener.

We may finally get an Elite vs Bullet Club match at Bound For Glory.

– Gia Miller interviewed Josh Alexander about teaming with Christian Cage. Alexander said that any other day, teaming with Cage would be an honor, but tonight, it’s a front row seat to show Cage what he will have to deal with at Bound For Glory.

– D’lo Brown and Josh Matthews ran down some of the matches scheduled for tonight and for Saturday’s Knockout Knockdown show.

– Heath came down to the ring after making his return last week, when he confronted Violent By Design. Heath brought up that he was sidelined for a whole year and for that whole year, Rhino disappeared from his side, but it wasn’t his fault, he knew it was all because of Eric Young’s involvement. Heath called out Rhino to talk, but instead he got Violent By Design.

Young told Heath that he had changed Rhino and got rid of the old Rhino that Heath knew. EY said he wasn’t Rhino in reaction to the fan’s chants, because Rhino belonged to him and he talked for Rhino. He told Heath to leave Impact because he had no more business there.

Heath rejected EY’s order and instead fought back at VBD’s threats. Heath was quickly taken down by Doering and kept down by Deaner. EY broke their flag pole over Heath’s back, but Rhino never came out for the save.

– Miller interviewed Willie Mack about his chances of qualifying to the Bound For Glory X Division match. While he talked, he was interrupted by Brian Myers’ Learning Tree, ending with Swann and Mack challenging them to match. Myers berated them for thinking they had a chance at defeating Swann and Mack after they had already defeated Myers and VSK last week.

Mercedes Martinez, Tasha Steelz, & Savannah Evans defeated Lady Frost, Brandi Lauren, & Kimber Lee

This is the first match we’ve officially seen of Lauren and Lee after becoming Su Yung’s Undead soldiers. This is also Mercedes Martinez debut for Impact. All these women will be part of Knockout’s Knockdown Impact+ special.

Match interestingly enough, had Lee and Lauren work as babyfaces, with the latter being the babyface in peril for some minutes. The story of the match however, was all about Tasha Steelz and Martinez not working together, at one point even antagonizing each other, leading up to the finish that saw Steelz steal the pin from Martinez.

Both Martinez and Steelz are part of the Knockouts Knockdown tournament, with the potential of facing each other until the finals.

After the match, we saw Alisha Edwards attack Kimber Lee and Brandi Lauren after they had ‘killed’ one of Swinger’s valets, who were supposedly Alisha’s friends. Edwards challenged Kimber Lee, but instead Gail Kim added her to the Knockouts Knockout Monster’s Ball against Kimber Lee, Jordynne Grace, and Savannah Evans. The match will honor the memory of Daffney. Good little angle to set up the match, but the heat felt forced, Alisha is retaliating almost a month after the incident.

– We got a new installment of “All About Me” with Tenille Dashwood, Madison Rayne, and Kaleb. They talked about winning the titles at Knockouts Knockdown and their new team called The Collab.

Their special guest interviewers were Decay, but it became a joke of Dashwood swearing a lot. Rosemary asked Dashwood and Rayne if they felt lucky for Saturday, but Dashwood tried to cancel the interview. Rosemary threatened to not over take over their show set, but for their demons to possess their bodies.

– Moose and Morrissey cut a promo about sending Edwards and Callihan to the hospital. They talked about having an alliance and how they’re entering the Call Your Shot Gauntlet and dominate as an alliance until it comes down to them. They’re such a great unit.

Steve Maclin defeated Petey Williams & Black Taurus in an X Division Championship match qualifier

The winner of this match advances to the Bound For Glory X Division 3-way match, against the already qualified Trey Miguel.

Match started with Taurus and Williams wrestling after Maclin had been taken out, Williams got most of the offense, the sequence ended with a tornillo by Taurus on Maclin and a baseball slide from Williams on Taurus.

Back in the ring, all three men took more turns to pair up together and trade momentum. Maclin first took out Williams, then he got taken out by Taurus, then Williams came back and took out both, when he started to tease the destroyer.

All three men exchanged strikes in the middle of the ring with Taurus getting a near fall after a crucifix bomb. Taurus blocked the destroyer and went for a superplex, but was cut off by Maclin, who took him out, hit the corner spear on Williams. Finish finally saw Williams hit the destroyer on Taurus, only for Maclin to run in and hit mayhem for all on Williams for the win.

Steve Maclin once again steals the win from William and advances to Bound For Glory.

– Gia Miller interviewed Christian Cage about teaming with Josh Alexander. He pretty much said the same thing as Alexander, but having the best seat in the room to realize that Alexander is not on Cage’s level.

Afterwards, Christopher Daniels confronted Cage and told him he is there to win the title he never won.

– Over at Swinger’s Palace, they’re all packed up after being shut down by Scott D’Amore last week. Fallah Bahh walked to tell them they got what they deserved.

Rich Swann & Willie Mack defeated The Learning Tree (Manny Lemons & Zicky Dice)

This was a squash. Swann and Mack first worked over Dice, and when Dice ran away, Lemons came in to get punished by Swann and Mack. Swann pinned Lemons after an elevated neckbreaker.

After the match, Myers, VSK, and Sam Beale all ran down and jumped Mack and Swann. This angle felt like Swann and Mack may not go on separate paths for Bound For Glory after all.

– Scott D’Amore and Gail Kim met with Deonna Purrazzo about her attack on Mickie James last week in James’ house. James rushed into the office and tried to jump Purrazzo, but D’Amore, Kim, and Rehwoldt managed to separate them. D’Amore implemented a no-touch clause, where if James attacks Purrazzo, she loses her title shot, if Purrazzo attacks James, she will be stripped of the title.

Kim decided to book a Pick Your Poison set of matches, Purrazzo must defend her title at Knockouts Knockdown against James’ pick first.

Impact World Champion Christian Cage & Josh Alexander defeated Ace Austin & Madman Fulton

Cage and Alexander are scheduled to wrestle for the Impact World title at Bound For Glory after Alexander relinquished the X Division title under Option C rules and challenged Cage. Yet, ever since before Victory Road, Cage has feuded with Ace Austin when he was the #1 contender. This match came up after Austin and Fulton decided to go after both Alexander and Cage.

Match started with Fulton and Cage, with both men trading control a couple of times, Fulton at one point even took down both Cage and Alexander at the same time. Fulton cut off Alexander when he tagged in.

Austin and Fulton kept Alexander at bay for a good couple of minutes before Alexander broke away from Austin to tag out. Cage came in with the hot tag on Austin, but he was also eventually cut off when he distracted himself with Fulton on the apron, allowing Austin to kick him down and tag in Fulton to finalize the isolation.

Cage was the babyface in peril until he got the opening to take down Austin with a desperation spear. Alexander took on Fulton and managed to get him up for a blue thunder bomb and a series of Germans, but Fulton eventually pushed Alexander back to his corner. Fulton went to chokeslam Alexander, but Cage saved the match, took out Fulton outside the ring, leaving the ring for Alexander to lock in the ankle lock on Austin. Cage blind tagged himself and hit the killswitch on Austin after Alexander had hit chaos theory. Good main event.

Cage and Alexander never showed dissension until the very last spot. Both men exchanged some words after the match, but left it at words.

Impact Wrestling live results: Christopher Daniels returns

Christopher Daniels will have his first Impact match in over seven years when he takes on Madman Fulton on Thursday’s Impact Wrestling.

One of the “TNA originals”, Daniels made his return to the promotion last Thursday, saving World Champion Christian Cage and Josh Alexander from an Fulton and Ace Austin-led attack.

Following Alexander vacating the title, a tournament to crown a new X-Division champion begins tonight with Alez Zayne vs. Trey Miguel vs. Laredo Kid. The tournament will feature three three-way matches, with the winners going on to another three-way match at October’s Bound For Glory to crown the new champion.

A new pair of number one contenders for the Knockouts Tag Team Championship will emerge when The Influence (Tenille Dashwood & Madison Rayne) take on Jordynne Grace and Rachael Ellering. The winner will get their shot at champions Havok and Rosemary at this month’s Knockouts Knockdown.

Eddie Edwards can’t seem to rid himself of W. Morrissey as the two find themselves in another match, this time in& a street fight.

The BTI pre-show will see Raj Singh take on Matt Cardona. Singh made his Impact return last Thursday, marking his first appearance in the company since November 2019.

Matt Cardona (with Chelsea Green) defeated Raj Singh (with Rohit Raju) on BTI

Opening video recapped Josh Alexander’s challenge to Christian Cage for a title match at Bound For Glory. In addition, last week’s Alexander vs Ace Austin main event, which led to the return of Christopher Daniels to Impact after 7 years.

Trey Miguel defeated Alex Zayne & Laredo Kid in an X Division Championship match qualifier

After the X Division title was vacated by Josh Alexander, D’Amore booked a tournament to crown a new champion at Bound For Glory. Each week will feature a 3-way qualifier match to set up the participants of the BFG match. Alex Zayne is making his Impact debut in this match.

First couple of minutes saw all three men pair up in different combinations for a couple of fast paced sequences of counters and reversals, ending with Miguel dropping Kid with a rana from the apron to the floor, followed by a moonsault by Zayne.

Back in the ring, they did a couple of 3-person spots, mostly showcasing Zayne’s ability, but constantly trading momentum between the three men. Kid at one point hit a springboard rana on Miguel and a springboard cutter later on for a near fall. Finish eventually saw Zayne take out Kid, but Miguel ran in, removed Zayne from the ring and hit the meteora to win and advance to Bound For Glory.

During the match, we saw footage of Matthew Rehwoldt watching the match. Commentary mentioned that he seemed to be interested in Laredo Kid. After the match, Matthew Rehwoldt cut a promo on Laredo Kid, saying he and Kid were similar, because both of them were misunderstood by the world, and so he wanted to challenge Kid to a match.

– We got footage of Callihan being checked in by doctors after Morrissey and Moose broke his ankle. This is the story to write off Callihan.

Eddie Edwards cut a promo about knowing that he and Callihan were getting into it when they went to war with Moose and Morrissey. He told the latter that Morrissey had always been taken care of, but on Impact, he faces reality.

The Influence (Tenille Dashwood & Madison Rayne) (with Kaleb)  defeated Jordynne Grace & Rachael Ellering in a  Knockouts Tag Team Championship #1 contenders match.

Grace and Ellering have their history with Dashwood, but have never faced the team of Dashwood and Rayne, which recently came together a couple of weeks ago. This match was booked by Gail Kim after The Influence made the intentions to go after the tag team titles at Knockouts Knockdown, the all women show coming up on October 8th.

Match started with Ellering and Dashwood, with the former dominating the ring and the lock exchange. The Influence were able to take control of the match when Kaleb tripped Ellering, causing her and Grace to change their focus and allowing Dashwood and Rayne to attack them from behind.

The Influence’s control didn’t last long, as Ellering was able to overpower Dashwood and it was now her that found herself cut off from her corner, as Grace and Ellering worked over Dashwood’s lower back. Rayne would eventually get a cheap shot on Grace to allow Dashwood to tag out. Dashwood and Rayne worked over Grace before she powered out of their control and tagged in Ellering for the hot tag.

Ellering came in with a TKO on Dashwood and a spinebuster on Rayne. They followed with some double team moves before setting up a Vader Bomb from Grace on Rayne, but Kaleb was there to place Rayne’s foot on the ropes for the near fall.

Finish saw Grace and Ellering once again get distracted by Kaleb, allowing The Influence to hit their new signature move for the win over Ellering.

It will be The Influence vs Decay for the tag team titles.

– Gia Miller interviewed Christopher Daniels about returning to Impact. Daniels said that he didn’t need to knock on the forbidden door of the house he built. Josh Alexander and Christian Cage walked up and thanked Daniels for the help last week, but Cage and Alexander quickly got on each other’s nerves.

– We got a skit with Brian Myers training his Learning Tree, with VSK over showing everyone and making everyone jealous.

– The Good Brothers cut a promo from their vacation house, talking about beating up people. They promoted Impact’s YouTube subscription service, talked trash about some of the tag teams on Impact, and realized that they need opponents for Bound For Glory, so they proposed FinJuice vs Bullet Club in a #1 contender match.

 – We then got a video of Deonna Purrazzo arriving at Mickie James’ ranch. Purrazzo found James and attacked her in a barn. They brawled for some minutes and at one point, Purrazzo tried to use a rake to attack James, who ended up spraying water on Purrazzo, which worked for some reason, but soon after, Purrazzo recovered and finally took out James.

– FinJuice cut a promo about being attacked by the Bullet Club last week, and always being outnumbered. Chris Sabin joined them and agreed to take on the Bullet Club next week. Robinson’s hair is something special.

Christopher Daniels defeated Madman Fulton (with Ace Austin)

Daniels returned last week and confronted Austin and Fulton as they attacked Alexander and Cage. This is his first Impact match in about 7 years.

Story of the match was that Fulton had the power advantage and dominated Daniels when he got a hold of him, so Daniels had to rely on his speed to run and dodge around, to get offense on Fulton. After running wild for a bit, Fulton was able to cut off Daniels with a big slam from the second rope, he mostly tried to choke and hurt Daniels’ head.

Daniels made a comeback, but was cut off by Austin’s interference, so Josh Alexander ran down for the save and brawled with Austin to the back. In the ring, Fulton kicked out of the Angel’s wings, but fell to the BME.

– Over at Swinger’s Palace, Swinger prepared himself to meet with Scott D’Amore about cancelling the Vegas tapings. D’Amore obviously didn’t take him seriously and shut down Swinger’s Palace permanently. I think we’re done.

– Madman Fulton and Ace Austin went to D’Amore and demanded that he do something about all the men getting involved in his matches. D’Amore booked Austin and Fulton vs Alexander and Cage for next week.

– Violent By Design came down to the ring for Rhino’s answer after Eric Young gave him an ultimatum on whether he was with VBD, or against them. Rhino walked out to the ring and after the fans chanted for a Gore, Rhino was surrounded by Doering, Deaner, and EY. At that point, Heath made his long awaited return from injury and went straight to brawl with Deaner and Doering. Heath cleared the ring, but Rhino never joined in, he neither attacked VBD, nor he attacked Heath.

– We got a commercial for a new title Impact is introducing, the ‘Digital Media’ Champion. There will be a tournament to crown a champion at Bound For Glory. First matches Are Zicky Dice vs John Skyler and Hernandez vs Crazzy Steve.

Also next week, Black Taurus vs Maclin vs Petey Williams in another X Division qualifier match, FinJuice & Sabin vs Bullet Club, and Austin & Fulton vs Cage & Alexander.

Eddie Edwards defeated W. Morrissey in a Street Fight

These two have been feuding for months now, they’ve already clashed in weapon matches, but this is somewhat more personal after Morrissey powerbombed Alisha Edwards at Victory Road. Morrissey and Moose also took out Edwards’ ally in this war, Sami Callihan.

Even with a weapon in hand, Edwards was early on taken down by Morrissey, who straight up broke a wet sign on Edwards’ head, but he was able to comeback with a tope suicida and a belt shot to bring Morrissey down. The brawl continued with Morrissey ramming Edwards around into the guardrail and steel steps, including a chokeslam onto those steps.

Back in the ring, the table got filled with a table, chairs, garbage cans, and other weapons. Morrissey stayed in control, but Edwards slowly made a comeback attacking Morrissey with some of the weapons, ending with a weak blue thunder bomb on the garbage can.

Edwards brought out a barbed wire wrapped chair, but failed to use it on Morrissey, and instead took a couple of chair shots himself. Morrissey tried to slam Edwards onto a bed of chairs, but Alisha ran down for the save and attacked Morrissey with a kendo stick, allowing Edwards to slip out and powerbomb Morrissey on the chairs, but he only got a count of 1 before the kick out.

Edwards attacked Morrissey with the kendo stick, followed by a Boston knee party to the barbed wire chair and Edwards finally got the pin.

After the match, Moose attacked both Edwards and Alisha, spearing Edwards through the table in the ring. Alisha checked on Edwards, when Moose and Morrissey grabbed her and made her watch as Moose attacked Edwards’ neck with several chair shots. The chair wrapped around Edwards ended up all bent. Good little post match angle.

Four-way Impact Tag Team title match set for Bound for Glory

Impact Wrestling’s Tag Team titles will be on the line in a four-way match at Bound for Glory.

Impact Wrestling announced today that The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) will defend their Tag Team titles against The Good Brothers (Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows), The North (Josh Alexander & Ethan Page), and Ace Austin & Madman Fulton at Bound for Glory. The pay-per-view is taking place on Saturday, October 24.

On this week’s episode of Impact, Gallows & Anderson challenged The Motor City Machine Guns to a title match at Bound for Glory. After The North faced off with Austin & Fulton in the main event of the episode, there was a confrontation between the four teams who will be involved in the Bound for Glory Tag Team title match.

The Motor City Machine Guns became Impact Tag Team Champions by defeating The North on an episode of Impact this July. Prior to that, The North had been champions for over a year.

Impact Wrestling has also revealed that Shelley vs. Anderson vs. Alexander vs. Austin will take place at their Victory Road special on Impact Plus this Saturday.

Eric Young defending the Impact World Championship against Rich Swann and Deonna Purrazzo defending the Knockouts Championship against Kylie Rae have also been announced for Bound for Glory. Young and Purrazzo both have title defenses at Victory Road as well. Young is defending his title against Eddie Edwards, while Purrazzo is defending her title against Susie.

Impact Wrestling results: Madman Fulton vs. Trey Miguel

Opening video recapped The North’s assault on Ken Shamrock, Deonna Purrazzo’s in-ring debut, and the main event between Eddie Edwards and Ace Austin’s new backup — Madman Fulton.

Josh Matthews and Madison Rayne welcomed us to the show by addressing that the Impact World championship has been vacated and that the main event of Slammiversary XVIII will now be a four-way between Eddie Edwads, Trey Miguel, Ace Austin, and a mystery opponent.

Chris Bey (with Johnny Swinger) defeated Suicide

Bey started the match with some early strikes, but took too long to hit a standing moonsault, giving Suicide the time to recover, hitting an atomic drop, and a low dropkick for an quick two count.

Suicide hit an electric chair drop and a lionsault, but Bey was ready with the knees on Suicide to turn the match around and went back to striking Suicide, earning a two count with a clothesline.

Suicide caught Bey with an octopus stretch and transitioned into a sunset flip pin for a two count. Bey draped Suicide on the ropes for a spinning kick for another near fall.

Bey hit an high angle backplex, followed by a moonsault, but once again Suicide dodged. Suicide came back with a big shotgun dropkick, a series of chops and palm strikes, a running forearm and kick, but Bey escaped the German suplex. Suicide responded with a foot stomp for another two count.

Suicide faked Bey on the ropes, sending him to the floor, sent Swinger along with Bey, and hit an ugly trust fall from the top rope to the floor.

Back in the ring, Suicide got a near fall with a sunset flip pin. Bey recovered, hitting a spinning knee. Suicide went for the top rope, but Swinger tossed him off behind the referee’s back, allowing Bey to hit the springboard fameasser for the win.

Matthews and Rayne ran down the rest of the card tonight.

Gia Miller interviewed Moose about his match with Crazzy Steve. Moose said that Steve doesn’t take things seriously, but fun and games didn’t make Moose the TNA World champion. Tonight, Crazzy Steve will find out why Moose is the best wrestler on the planet.

Backstage, Johnny Swinger congratulated Bey for winning and that as long as he follows his plans, Bey will become the champion. Swinger said that dealing with Impact referees is a walk in the park and said he would pay them for Slammiversary. One of the referees overheard Swinger and banned him from the Bey vs. Mack match.

TJP & Fallah Bahh defeated Reno Scum (Adam Thornstowe & Luster The Legend)

Reno Scum jumped TJP and Bahh during their entrance, but Bahh quickly regained control, throwing out Thornstowe and attacking Luster with a couple of shoulder blocks, feeding him to TJP for the school boy and the early pin attempt.

TJP and Bahh hit a couple of double team moves on Luster, including a poetry in motion and a double splash for another pin attempt. TJP had some offense on Luster, but Thornstowe interfered, pulled him to the floor, beat him up a bit, and sent him back for Luster in the ring.

Now under control, Reno Scum worked over TJP with quick tags, some double team moves, and a lot of striking. Luster tossed Thornstowe onto TJP for a senton, but TJP blocked with his knees, twisted Luster’s neck, and tagged Bahh.

Bahh came in strong, splashing Thornstowe with a running hip attack, but when he went for the Samoan drop, Luster blocked him off, setting up a footstomp version of the poetry in motion for a two count when Bahh broke it up.

TJP dropped Thornstowe for a springboard dropkick, but Luster blocked him from following up. Bahh took out Luster with a belly-to-belly. Thornstowe hit Bahh with a superkick, but when he tried to take out TJP, Thornstowe was blocked and ended up being tossed into Bahh’s Samoan drop, followed with a mamba splash for the win. Good match, TJP and Bahh have improved as a tag team.

We had another installment of Madison Rayne’s Locker Room Talk, with special guest John E. Bravo. Rayne asked about having to obey Taya, and about Bravo and Rosemary flirting. Bravo denied there being anything romantic. Madison Rayne brought in a second guest — Rosemary.

Rayne asked Rosemary about her and Bravo. Rosemary didn’t say anything either, but Swinger interjected saying that there was some sexual tension in the room between him and Rosemary, claiming that he had a thing for facepaint and that he and Aja Kong had a thing some time back.

Bravo stepped up and defended Rosemary. Bravo and Swinger got into a face off, while Rosemary enjoyed it.

Taya interrupted everyone and joined the party. Taya asked Rosemary to tag team together and Rosemary agreed. Swinger’s comedy is seriously underrated.

We got a recap of the ongoing feud between “The Virtuosa” Deonna Purrazzo and Jordynne Grace.

The North came out to address their attack on Ken Shamrock from last week. They said that the legend of Ken Shamrock is over and that he has no friends because he has rage issues and can’t control his anger.

Ken Shamrock came out and tried to get in the ring, but couldn’t. Sami Callihan hacked the screen and said ‘who needs a friend when you have an enemy’. When the lights came back, Callihan was in the ring, and along with Shamrock, they ran out The North. Afterwards, Callihan gave Shamrock the thumbs down and disappeared again. I guess we have our tag title match for Slammiversary here.

Backstage, The North approached Scott D’Amore while he was talking to some ‘good brothers’. Page complained about being jumped by Callihan and Shamrock. D’Amore made The North vs Shamrock and Callihan official for Slammiversary XVIII.

Impact Plus Flashback Moment of the Week was Magnus vs Eric Young from April 10, 2014.

Jimmy Jacobs tried to interview Trey Miguel, who was extra cautious about surprise attacks. Trey said that tonight, he was going to break his foot on Madman Fulton’s face.

Self-Proclaimed TNA World Champion Moose defeated Crazzy Steve to retain the title.

Match started with Moose using his strength to push around Steve, but the latter, with the speed advantage, started dodging and striking Moose until he sent Moose to the floor. As he went for a plancha, Moose caught him, slammed him on the apron, got him by the legs and swung him onto the steel steps. Moose punched into Steve’s ribs over and over again before sending Steve back to the ring. Moose suplexed Steve into the ropes ribs-first.

Crazzy Steve tried to make a comeback, striking Moose, but got easily cut off by a running back elbow. Once again, Moose locked in an abdominal stretch and sank his knuckles on Steve’s ribs.

Moose tried to superplex Steve, who had to rely on biting Moose’s face to stop him. Steve hit a sunset powerbomb, but Moose kicked out at one. Steve once again used his speed to strike Moose and got a two count with a school boy. Steve hit a running knee and a running cannonball to the corner, tried to follow with a crossbody, only for Moose to catch him again. Moose hit a fallaway slam, hit the lights out, and won the match. Arguably a squash, Moose looked really dominant.

After the match, Moose kept attacking Crazzy Steve until the referees and Tommy Dreamer pulled him off. Moose kicked Dreamer and attacked him before walking away.

Crazzy Steve was helped to the back while Dreamer cut a promo in the ring, calling out Moose for stealing a title because even with his natural talents, he couldn’t cut it in Impact. Dreamer told Moose to be a locker room leader, not a locker room cancer. He said that Moose wasn’t a draw and he wouldn’t even be a footnote in wrestling. This felt unnecessarily dramatic and a bit shooty.

Hernandez and Cousin Jake arm wrestled in the back with Cody Deaner watching along. Hernandez beat Jake. Cody challenged for a double or nothing, and also lost. Arm wrestling is the best use of Hernandez right now.

Kiera Hogan (with Tasha Steelz)  defeated Havok (with Nevaeh)

Hogan jumped Havok with a dropkick to start the match. She tried to strike down Havok, but got pushed back by Havok’s strength advantage and as soon as she recovered, Havok got a hold of Hogan and tossed her around from corner to corner. Havok then hit a scoop slam.

Tasha tried to stop Havok by grabbing her foot, but Havok took her out. The interruption was enough for Hogan to recoup and dodged the senton to regain some control.

Back from commercial, Hogan had Havok in a sleeper hold, right before Havok slammed Hogan back first into the turnbuckle. Hogan used her hair to choke Havok, but once again, Havok managed to get her hands on Hogan and toss her around. She then hit a backbreaker, a running knee, then a couple of running boots to a down Hogan. As Havok prepared to finish her off, Tasha stole Havok’s mask, distracting Havok, Nevaeh, and the referee as she tossed it to Hogan, who used it to take out Havok. Hogan finished her off with kicks to win the match.

Moose cut a promo on Dreamer, saying he doesn’t know anything about him and that Dreamer is nothing while he is the top man in the promotion. He gave Dreamer an ultimatum that if he doesn’t apologize publicly, he would sue him and the promotion.

Matthews and Rayne ran down the current card for Slammiversary XVIII, including the newly added tag title defense between The North and Shamrock and Callihan. Also, for next week, Sami Callihan takes on Josh Alexander in a singles match.

Madman Fulton (with Ace Austin) defeated Trey Miguel by disqualification

Story here is that Ace Austin is taking out each of his opponents for the Slammiversary XVIII main event by using Fulton, who defeated Eddie Edwards last week.

Trey rushed the ring to start the match, dodging Fulton, but took out Ace with a suicide dive, followed by  a second one that was caught by Fulton.

In the ring, Trey used his speed to dodge Fulton’s strikes and land a kick or two when he had the opening. Trey tried to hit a crossbody, but Fulton caught him. Trey tried to armdrag Fulton, but again, he was stopped, this time with a chokeslam. Fulton hit a one arm military press. Trey went for some bodyscissors, but again, Fulton blocked and hit a reverse suplex.

Trey tried to strike down Fulton with forearms, kicks, or anything that worked, but Fulton was unstoppable and would flip around Trey as soon as he had a hold of him.

Fulton slammed Trey’s head to the turnbuckle over and over again, but as he whipped him to the ropes, Trey somersaulted off the ropes and locked in a sleeper hold. Fulton tried slamming Trey down, but he couldn’t break the sleeper off. After multiple slams, Trey eventually did.

Trey hit a couple of kicks and hit a second rope neckbreaker to bring Fulton down, followed by some buzzsaw kicks and two superkicks. Trey went for a springboard DDT, but Fulton blocked and hit a northern lights suplex for a two count.

Fulton splashed Trey in the corner and draped him over the ropes, but as he attacked him, Trey sneaked and grabbed Ace Austin’s magic stick and broke it off in Fulton’s face for the DQ.

Afterwards, Trey attacked Ace and Fulton with a chair until they were both down.Trey survived another day.

We got another tease, this time around, it was Eric Young’s old Super Eric costume. I don’t know if they’re teasing some of TNA’s worst gimmicks as a way to throw a curb ball at us.

Final thoughts —

Good show. Wrestling was decent to good and we had a lot of storyline developments towards Slammiversary XVIII. Episode went by faster than usual.

Impact Wrestling results: Edwards vs. Fulton, Deonna Purrazzo debut

Impact Wrestling continued their build toward July’s Slammiversary pay-per-view with another show from Nashville, TN.

The opening video focused on Trey Miguel being taken out once again and the investigation that led to a street fight between Eddie Edwards and Ace Austin where Madman Fulton and Austin’s teamup was revealed. We also saw Deonna Purrazzo’s attack on Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace.

Tasha Steelz (w/Kiera Hogan) defeated Nevaeh (w/Havok)

Steelz, as usual, started her match with some trash talk until Nevaeh had enough and started throwing chops and sliding lariats, forcing Steelz to leave the ring.

Once back in the ring, Steelz caught Nevaeh with a jumping knee followed by more trash talk, but fully in control, Steelz made sure to not let Nevaeh up, keeping her down with kicks and strikes, and the occasional snapmare when she did get up. Steelz got a couple of near falls with headbutts or straight punches, but it wasn’t enough.

Steelz hit a couple of running attacks and a neckbreaker for yet another two count, but when she went to follow up with a third running attack, Nevaeh dodged and hit a knee strike, clothesline, low dropkick, and a German for a two count. Nevaeh went for her finisher, but Hogan distracted Nevaeh and Havok, allowing Steelz to sneak up behind Nevaeh and roll her up for the win.

**********

– We got footage of Deonna Purrazzo’s interview on Busted Open Radio where she got interrupted by Jordynne Grace. The champion confronted her over her sneak attacks in the last two weeks. This was pretty good.

– Gia Miller interviewed Purrazzo about Grace in which Purrazzo said that she wasn’t interested in brawling with Grace until the title was on the line. Alisha Edwards, not a great actor, interrupted her and challenged her to fight.

– We got the same promo for Slammiversary with the key words “at least one former World Champion”.

– Backstage, Johnny Swinger welcomed Rich Swann and invited him to be the third person in the Swinger and Chris Bey pairing set to take on The Deaners and Willie Mack tonight. Swann said he was still injured and that Mack was his homie.

– The Impact Plus Flashback Moment of the Week was the November 1, 2012, Bully Ray vs. Devon match where Doc Gallows unmasked in yet another Slammiversary  tease.

– Ethan Page complained to The North teammate Josh Alexander about Ken Shamrock getting so much praise and respect instead of them, the longest reigning tag team champions. Eventually, Shamrock walked up and heard Page complaining. Shamrock berated him, but then Alexander challenged Shamrock to a match instead.

– Moose forced some referees and people to listen to him about being the World Champion. Crazzy Steve interrupted, calling him a fake World Champion. Moose then gave him a title shot next week as an excuse to beat him up.

**********

Deonna Purrazzo defeated Alisha Edwards

This was a successful in-ring debut for “The Virtuosa” and a complete squash. Purrazzo started the match showing off her technical prowess, quickly escaping a wristlock and locking in a koji clutch before Alisha made the ropes. She kept working on her left arm and kept her down with a short arm clothesline. Alisha had a short hope spot, but Purrazzo came back with a running kneelift and the armbar for the submission win.

After the match, Grace rushed the ring and wanted to fight, but Purrazzo left, saying that it would be when she decided.

**********

– Again, Swinger tried to find a partner, asking Suicide to unmask and join them. Suicide ghosted him and disappeared. Swinger’s next option was offering a lot of money to Hernandez, but Swinger had to beat him in an arm wrestling match first. Swinger lost, so Hernandez passed. Swinger is really fantastic.

– Walking to the back, Swinger tried to get Taya Valkyrie to join them, but she told him off and berated his attire. She was looking for John E. Bravo to which Swinger said, “Say hi to Dino for me.”

Ken Shamrock vs. Josh Alexander

Shamrock came down for his match when The North jumped him during his entrance. Even with Shamrock trying to make a stand, the numbers game was too much as Alexander locked in the ankle lock as Page stomped him. I really wanted to see that match, too.

Taya Valkyrie (with John E. Bravo) defeated Susie

Susie tried introducing herself to Valkyrie, but was met a shove and trash talk. Valkyrie dropped Susie with a takedown, but was suddenly surprised with an armdrag and a schoolgirl for an early pin attempt.

Susie hit Valkyrie with a headlock takedown and a bulldog for another two count. Taya recovered, sidestepped Susie, and hit a german for a two count. Valkyrie and Bravo took turns choking Susie and distracting the referee. She continued with stomps and kicks to the back, trash talking the entire time. She locked in an STF, but Susie made the ropes.

Valkyrie went for the running elbow, but Susie blocked with kicks on all three attempts and hit Su Yung’s arachnarana for a two count.

Susie tried to strike down Valkyrie, but was brought down with a clothesline that got two. Valkyrie kicked around Susie some more, but once again, she failed to land the running knee attack. Susie hit the Thesz Press and a roll up for two. Valkyrie hit a Super Dragon-style curb stomp, but Susie kicked out at two. Valkyrie started blaming the referee and Bravo for not getting the pin.

Valkyrie went for Road to Valhalla, but Susie rolled over for the pin attempt. Valkyrie kicked out, hit a knee, and then successfully hit Road to Valhalla for the win. After the match, she bullied Susie more until Kylie Rae came down for the save. Rae superkicked Taya, but Bravo pulled her to safety.

**********

– Jimmy Jacobs tried to interview Madman Fulton about his alliance with Ace Austin, but Austin was there and said that he did the talking in the team. He said Fulton has almost the most potential in the roster and he will bring it out as Fulton helps him become the youngest Impact World Champion.

– Swinger and Bey met backstage. Swinger introduced Rohit Raju as his partner, but Bey wasn’t having it. Raju said that he didn’t want to be there either, but he bought a used car from Swinger and this was part of the deal.

Chris Bey, Rohit Raju & Johnny Swinger def. Willie Mack & The Deaners (Cody Deaner & Cousin Jake)

Rohit and Cody started with a lock-up and some comedy with Raju pulling on Cody’s beard. Jake and Mack came in and all three hit moves on Raju, ending with Mack’s moonsault for an early pin attempt.

Mack tagged in and Bey tagged in Swinger who took punches and dropkicks by everyone on the babyface team. All six men came in, but it was the Deaners and Mack who cleared the ring.

Back from commercial, Cody Deaner was cut off from his team as Raju was working on him in his corner. Bey sat Deaner on the ropes, hit a step-up enzuigiri, and then a spinning kick for another two count. Swinger came in and mostly did old school dirty tricks. Later, Bey locked in an abdominal stretch, but Cody finally managed to escape and tag out.

Cousin Jake came in and ran wild with lariats and corner spears on everyone until he had Bey down, tagging in Mack, but Mack was taken out by Raju. Jake instead took out Bey with a huge powerbomb, Swinger took out Jake with a swinging neckbreaker, Deaner hit the Give’er on Swinger, Raju hit a jumping knee on Deaner, Mack hit a pop-up forearm on Raju and finally, Bey ensnared Mack with a roll up, but Mack kicked out.

Mack went to hit the stunner on Bey, but Raju saved him. Bey’s reaction was to toss Raju into Mack to get stunned and then use the distraction to hit the Fame-asser on Mack to pick up the win for his team.

**********

– Backstage, Reno Scum bullied D’Lo Brown who was working on some marketing. Fallah Bahh and TJP then confronted them about being accused of attacking Trey Miguel. Bahh and TJP challenged them to a match which Reno Scum accepted.

– Josh Matthews and Madison Rayne announced that Jordynne Grace vs. Deonna Purrazzo is official for Slammiversary XVIII.

Madman Fulton (w/Ace Austin) defeated Eddie Edwards

Fulton has a new theme song and it is pretty good. He has also slimmed down a lot since the last set of tapings.

The match started with Fulton throwing around Edwards until he got a hold of Fulton’s hair. Yet, it wasn’t enough to stop Fulton who kept ramming Edwards into each of the turnbuckles. Edwards eventually landed an atomic drop and hoped to follow with a suplex, but Fulton blocked and hit one of his own.

Edwards managed to catch Fulton with a kick and send him outside, but when he tried to go for the dive, Fulton was standing there ready for him so Edwards decided not to.

Back in the ring, Fulton regained control, continuing to toss him around, even tossing him outside the ring with one hand. Fulton followed and threw him into the apron and a slingshot into the ropes.

Fulton smashed Edwards’ head into the turnbuckle over and over again until Edwards couldn’t stand on his own strength. Fulton went for a suplex, but Edwards blocked mid-air and used the momentum to hit one of his own. However, Fulton was back at his feet immediately.

Edwards tried to chop down Fulton and send him to the floor, this time managing to land a suicide dive on Fulton to bring him down. Still, Fulton got right up. Edwards went back to chops, but Fulton took him by the neck and started choking him, forcing Edwards to have to punch Fulton’s arm away and hit a desperation blue thunder  bomb for a two count.

Edwards went for the tiger driver, but Fulton reversed for an overhead suplex. Fulton hit a big tilt-a-whirl sidewalk slam for a two count. Edwards caught Fulton going to the top rope with a enzuigiri and a frankensteiner. Austin stepped up on the apron, but was Edwards knocked him off. Edwards escaped a german, hit a forearm, a jumping kick, and landed the tiger driver, but Fulton still kicked out.

Edwards set up for the Boston Knee Party, but Fulton caught him, hit the End of Days, and took the win. The match was pretty good. If they’re trying to rebuild Fulton as a monster, this was a successful step.

After the match, we saw D’Lo Brown talking to someone on the computer about getting the band back together. We then saw the Aces & Eights vest on his chair. Oh, no.

Final Thoughts:

This was a good show that went by pretty quick with a lot of female action. For a show that was edited at last minute due to the Joey Ryan situation, it came out flawless and nothing seemed off.

Next week:

– TNA Champion Moose vs. Crazzy Steve

– Bahh and TJP vs Reno Scum

– Kiera Hogan vs Havok

Two matches added to Impact Wrestling’s Hard to Kill PPV

Impact Wrestling has announced two additions to the card for their next pay-per-view.

Ken Shamrock vs. Madman Fulton and Moose vs. Rhino have both been announced for Hard to Kill. The PPV is taking place at The Bomb Factory in Dallas, Texas on Sunday, January 12.

Shamrock returned to Impact for a match against Moose at Bound for Glory. He’s since been aligned with Tessa Blanchard during the build to her World Championship match against Sami Callihan in the main event of Hard to Kill.

Fulton helped his oVe stablemate Callihan defeat Shamrock on the Impact episode that aired last week. The show then ended with an angle where Fulton attacked Shamrock. Callihan tried to call Fulton off, but Fulton didn’t listen and suplexed Shamrock out of the ring. Fulton then finally backed off when Callihan told him “no more.”

Moose and Rhino got into a confrontation on last night’s Impact after Moose told Rhino that he should have asked him for advice before his match against RVD the previous week. Moose said it was sad that Rhino’s Gore couldn’t do what Moose’s spear did, and Rhino responded by hitting a Gore on Moose. Later in the episode, they brawled when Moose tried to attack Rhino.

Here’s the updated card for Hard to Kill:

  • Impact World Champion Sami Callihan defending against Tessa Blanchard
  • Knockouts Champion Taya Valkyrie defending against Jordynne Grace and ODB in a triple threat match
  • Impact Tag Team Champions The North (Josh Alexander & Ethan Page) defending against Rich Swann & Willie Mack
  • X-Division Champion Ace Austin defending against Trey Miguel
  • Michael Elgin vs. Eddie Edwards
  • Brian Cage vs. RVD
  • Ken Shamrock vs. Madman Fulton
  • Moose vs. Rhino

Impact Wrestling results: Sami Callihan vs. Ken Shamrock

Impact Wrestling returns from Queens, NY for tonight’s show, on the road to Hard To Kill. Opening video focused on the great 3-way match from last week between Elgin, Edwards, and Cage. It touched upon the stories with Joey Ryan, James Mitchell, Suzie, Trey Miguel vs. Ace Austin, and ODB’s return.

Rob Van Dam (with Katie Forbes) defeated Rhino in an old school rules match

Tommy Dreamer served as the special guest referee. Old School Rules means that there are no rules according to Don Callis.

Rhino had the upper hand early as the brawl started outside the ring, but as he started bringing out weapons, RVD brought the fight back. Rhino got the first chair shot in, but accidentally lariat the ringpost in the follow up. RVD took him down with a senton from the apron.

Back in the ring, RVD kicked around Rhino a bit, but he came back with a mop, choking RVD, then followed with a scoop slam on a chair. Rhino went for a headbutt, but Rob dodged.

Rhino tried to choke out Rob with a chair, went for a running stomp, but Rob caught him with a low blow and followed with the running Van Daminator on the corner. Rob went for a monkey flip, but Rhino countered with a powerbomb into a chair for a two count.

Rhino brought out a table, but he gave RVD the time to recover and catch him with a slingshot to the ropes and a leg drop. Rob brought out a trash can, but also gave Rhino time to recover and attack him with a clothesline.  A trash can and table were both set up in the corners.

RVD failed to land the split-legged moonsault and took the Gore into the table, but Forbes pulled Dreamer out of the ring to break the pin, and took him out. Rhino pulled Forbes into the ring, but the distraction was enough for RVD to try and school boy him. Rhino countered and went for another Gore, but RVD dodged and sent Rhino into the garbage can, followed with the 5-Star Frog Splash to pick up the win.

Match was weak, way too slow even for these guys, but the last minutes of the match were ok.

After the match, RVD attacked Dreamer with a superkick.

Sami Callihan cut a promo saying that oVe equals ratings and that Impact owes everything to him. He said that the Crist brothers are winning tonight’s tag team no. 1 contendership match, that Fulton will destroy Tessa tonight, and that he will hurt and defeat Ken Shamrock. Good promo.

Josh Matthews and Don Callis ran down the card for tonight, talked about ODB being added to the Knockout’s Title match at Hard To Kill, and announced that Eddie Edwards vs. Michael Elgin has been signed for Hard To Kill. Tonight’s theme is Pick Your Poison, with Tessa picking Sami’s opponent and vice versa.

Moose defeated Acey Romero

Moose started by going for shoulder tackles but couldn’t even move Acey. Moose started slapping Acey, but it didn’t work and ended up getting tossed around from corner to corner instead. Moose tried to escape to the outside, but Acey caught him with a suicide dive.

Back from commercial, we see Moose ram Acey into the turnbuckle, and now work over him, he stomped him around, but then he fought he had a chance at suplexing Acey, but it was Romero’s opening to reverse the suplex and get some space to recover. Acey hit a huge crossbody to take out Moose, followed with a backdrop and a spinebuster, earning a two count.

Moose hit a couple of running dropkicks, but Acey countered the third with a kick, slowing down Moose. Acey went to the second rope, but Moose hit the Go To Hell for a two count.

They traded strikes in the middle of the ring. Moose poked Acey’s eyes,  but failed to land the discus lariat and took a big pounce by Romero instead. Moose went for the spear, but Acey caught him with a kick. Acey went for a running splash to the corner, but Moose dodged and hit the No Jackhammer Needed for the win. Pretty good hoss fight.

Somewhere in the Underworld, James Mitchell kept introducing Suzie around, when she accidentally touched the noose she was hanged with, which kinda gave her flashbacks to her former self. Not sure why Mitchell decided the noose should stay as decoration.

Gabbi Loren interviewed Michael Elgin, asking about his motivation to interrupt the Cage vs. Edwards match last week. Elgin said that he attacked him both to show Impact management that he had defeated them before and he didn’t get anything out of it. He challenge Eddie Edwards to put his title shot on the line at Hard To Kill.

Fallah Bahh defeated Raj Singh (with Desi Hit Squad)

Aw man, I guess we’re not getting Rohit and Raj in the tag team match later tonight.

Two weeks ago, Raj and Rohit attacked Bahh, so he came in hot and went after them. He quickly landed a belly-to-belly on Raj and a corkscrew elbow Drop. He went for the corner splash, but Gama distracted, giving Raj the opening to hit a rolling elbow and reverse STO, follow with a series of kicks for a two count.

Raj now in control, started striking Bahh, even managing to hit a backplex for a one count. Raj continued with strikes, but Bahh now started a comeback. Bahh hit a couple of opened Palms and a Crossbody for a two count.

Gama distracted the ref, allowing Rohit to jump Bahh, but both Desi Hit Squad members ended up squashed in the corner, with Bahh hitting a Running Hip Attack and the Banzai Drop on Raj for the win.

Good match, not the best to follow an Acey Romero match with a Bahh match since a lot of their offense is the same, but it does make me wonder of a match-up between the two.

After the match, Rohit caught Bahh with a superkick and him and Raj jumped him until TJP made his return and took out both Hit Squad members with kicks and DDTs.

Backstage, Joey Ryan is told to go to the management office, which is all a rouse since it’s in the bathroom. It turns out it’s Wrestler’s Court, judged by Tommy Dreamer.

This was done in People’s Court comedy style. It’s Johnny Swinger accusing Joey Ryan of not helping him out last week, but overall Joey is being accused that he is killing the business. Joey Ryan is not selling it and is calling this stupid.

We got a cameo by the returning KM. D’Lo Brown was a witness and is revealed to be called Dee Lorean Brown. Several wrestlers made statements against Joey Ryan’s penis. Joey Ryan made a statement against all those people that try to take all their insecurities and failures against him. Ryan said that wrestling should be fun.

Dreamer proclaimed that Ryan was sentenced to face Acey Romero in a match. This was stupid, but hilarious. I think we all felt like Joey Ryan for a while. This segment was apparently written by R.D. Evans.

Rich Swann & Willie Mack defeated The Rascalz, oVe and Reno Scum (Luster The Legend & Adam Thornstowe) to become the number one contenders for the Impact Tag Team titles

This is Tornado Style, so no tags necessary in this match.

All men started brawling in the ring, pairing up. We got The Rascalz superkicking Reno Scum and hitting dives to take them out. Jake Crist followed with a Suicide Dive DDT on both Rascalz.

In the ring, Swann and Mack double teamed Luster and Thornstowe for a two count when Jake pulled Swann out of the ring. Mack slammed Jake, followed with a standing moonsault for a two count. Mack hit a dive on Luster and Wentz. Swann tossed Dave Crist on the pile, Swann was gonna follow, but suddenly, Willie Mack was injured outside, doing a stretcher job, so Swann had to go at it by himself. The rest of the wrestlers stopped the action to sell the injury as legit.

Back from commercials, the match has continued with Swann fighting off both Reno Scum, being able to land a double Lethal Injection.

Jake and Dave Crist come in to double team Swann with kicks and a Spike Piledriver for a two count when Wentz breaks the pin.

Rascalz double team Jake Crist, only to get taken out by Reno Scum, who then double team Dave Crist with a German and an ugly footstomp combo. Thornstowe pretty much stomped Dave’s head. Luster hit a Razor’s Edge on Swann onto Dave Crist, who was in the Tree of Woe. Swann kicked out at two. Reno Scum went for their finish, but Dez and Wentz returned and took them out, hit a kick combo on Luster, finished with Hot Fire Flame, but Jake Crist was there to break the pin.

Jake Crist took out both Rascalz with kicks and a powerslam. oVe went for Swann, who tried to stand against them with kicks and strikes, managing to take them out for a bit until he went for the Lethal Injection again, only for oVe to cut him off. oVe went for the Doomsday Blockbuster, but Swann rolled up Dave Crist and win the match. Great action packed match, but I didn’t see the need in doing the Mack injury angle unless it becomes a thing all the way to Hard To Kill.

Backstage, Josh Alexander wants to go and take out Swann, but Page stops him and tells him to trust him and do it his way instead.

Loren interviewed Taya Valkyrie about having to defend her title against ODB and Jordynne Grace. Taya said that everyone is always trying to get in her space. She doesn’t understand why Jordynne would help ODB get in the match and worsen her chances at winning. Taya said that at Hard To Kill, she proves she’s the woman on power. Usual great Taya promo.

Impact Plus Flashback Moment of the Week was ODB vs. Gail Kim vs. Brooke Tessmacher from Bound For Glory 2013. I had completely forgotten about Lei’d Tapa.

Jimmy Jacobs interviewed Brian Cage backstage. Cage talked about losing the championship, the rematch, and the chance to regain it. Cage said he supported Tessa as the new contender to Sami’s championship and said that he will be looking close to whoever wins. He said that for now, he wants to take the opportunity to challenge someone he hasn’t had the chance to fight. Suddenly, RVD and Katie Forbes started making out on the couch they Cage and Jacobs were on. Cage was annoyed at RVD.

Before leaving, RVD said that Cage has stolen a lot of his moves, except for the time he got beat by Tessa.

Tessa Blanchard defeated Madman Fulton by disqualification

Tessa started defiant by striking Fulton, but she didn’t make any damage. Fulton retaliated by slamming Tessa into the turnbuckle repeatedly, tossing her around, choking her against the corner, stomping her.

Tessa tried to make a comeback, only to get hit by a powerbomb, that accidentally landed on the ropes and she used the moment to roll over Fulton and roll him up for a near fall. Tessa used the distraction to hit a couple of dives until Fulton regained composure and catch her. Tessa came back with a tornado DDT and went for the top rope Magnum, but the Crist brothers were out there to attack her and give her the win via DQ. Jake hit a top rope Cutter and fed her to Fulton’s crazy chokeslam. More of a segment than a match.

Ken Shamrock came out for the save. Shamrock took out both Crists, faced off against Fulton and started to fight him, but Callihan came out and pulled Fulton away. Callihan wanted Shamrock for himself.

Sami Callihan defeated Ken Shamrock by referee stoppage

Callihan slapped Shamrock to start the match, provoking his anger. Callihan spat on Shamrock, further provoking the wrath. Shamrock punched and kicked Callihan, but the champ kept trying to anger Shamrock with slaps and calling him names.

They started brawling outside the ring, with Shamrock having the upper hand with strikes, forcing Callihan to rely to heel tactics. Callihan kept trying to chop Shamrock, but they were not that effective.

Back in the ring, Callihan caught Shamrock with a desperation DVD for a two count. Shamrock countered Sami with a powerslam and went for a corner splash, but Callihan pulled he ref in front of him. Callihan went for a belt shot, but Shamrock dodged, hit a slam, locked in the ankle lock and submitted Callihan, but there was no referee.

Madman Fulton came back, hit an End of Days on Shamrock, giving Callihan to lock in the Ankle Lock, but with Shamrock already knocked out, the referee awarded the match to Callihan via ref stoppage.

After the match, Callihan celebrated while Shamrock recovered. Fulton went after Shamrock again and had to be pulled off by Callihan, but drowned in the rage, Fulton even pushed off Callihan. Fulton hit a Front-facing Suplex on Shamrock to the outside, it looked ugly enough that even Callihan told Fulton to stop. Referees checked on Shamrock as the show went off.

Final thoughts —

An ok show for Impact. We got some good wrestling and a great Wrestler’s Court skit, but not many great storyline developments.

Impact Wrestling results: Tag title match, Tessa Blanchard vs. Fulton

– Ahead of a number one contender’s match to determine the next challenger for the title, Josh Mathews hyped up Jake Crist winning the X-Division Championship last week.

Aiden Prince defeated Zachary Wentz, Rohit Raju, Chuck Mambo, Cody Deaner, and Petey Williams

Williams and Prince ate a big dive from Wentz. Don Callis talked about Wentz and The Rascalz being on the cutting edge — but instead, Wentz was on the end of a Williams hesitation dropkick against the rope. Williams got a Sharpshooter and Raju got a crossface, but it was just a transitional spot here.

Williams teased a dive, but Deaner put the Canadian flag on him like a cape and they both dove on the heels.

Raju also teased doing a dive but denied it before letting the fans know where they can shove it. Wentz dove on the pile, and Prince landed an Asai moonsault to the pile as well. Mambo hit a standing 450 on them all.

Deaner hit a big running lariat to Raju before Prince chopped away at Mambo. Williams got a tilt-a-whirl Russian leg sweep and hit the Canadian Destroyer on Wentz. Raju went to steal the pin, but Deaner nixed that. Raju hit a helluva kick, but he missed a cannonball and Deaner hit a DDT.

Mambo went for a GTS, but Prince hit a brainbuster and a 450 for the win. For a match with a ton of guys who aren’t usually on the show, most of the folks here got over with the crowd in just one match.

– Sami Callihan said that Jake Crist brought gold to oVe. Callihan wanted to see the X-Division title, but Jake told oVe he’ll knock them out if they try to take it. Jake said the title is the greatest thing to ever happen to him, even putting it over his wife and kids.

Callihan said that now it’s time to let the Madman out of his cage to face Tessa Blanchard later — basically turning Fulton into a modernized version of what Abyss was at the start of his TNA run.

– Rich Swann talked to Blanchard about how unwise it is to face Fulton and he’s worried because Fulton is tall, crazy, and has oVe on his side. Blanchard said she appreciates the help, but she wants to do it on her own. Blanchard as a babyface is odd to me.

– John E. Bravo came out to Taya Valkyrie’s theme and threw streamers for himself.

Jessicka Havok defeated John E. Bravo

Callis buried Bravo for dressing like Josh Mathews before Bravo took his shirt off and got kneed in the face. Havok hit a corner avalanche and got her eyes raked, but she beat Bravo quickly with a chokeslam.

– A creepy Su Yung video aired with her somewhat speaking in tongues.

– Josh Alexander told Ethan Page that the Tag Team titles prove that they’re the best in the world. Page calmed Alexander down and said they debuted in Windsor, won the titles, and they’ve done everything they set out to do. Alexander said he’s ready for them to go down in the history books as the best team in Impact history.

– Stone Rockwell came down and thanked the fans. Callis buried him on commentary. Ace Austin entered, with Callis saying that Austin calls himself “Ace” because that’s the top spot in Japan.

Ace Austin defeated Stone Rockwell

Rockwell got a slam and an atomic noogie. He caught Austin on a dive and went for a pose, so Austin just kneed him in the head. Austin hit a series of chops and kicks but ate a fallaway slam into an Irish Curse backbreaker. Austin hit Black Out, then The Fold ended it.

Rockwell is great as a modern-day Bushwhacker-style act. Austin feels like a guy who would be best-built in AEW as he isn’t even in the main X-Division title picture.

After the match, Eddie Edwards came out and attacked Austin for going after his wife Alisha.

– Madison Rayne walked up to Tessa Blanchard and disingenuously said that, as the locker room leader, she congratulates Blanchard on breaking down barriers and shattering glass ceilings. Blanchard didn’t buy her BS and told her she doesn’t have time for it. When Blanchard walked away, Rayne hoped for her demise.

– A tremendous video package aired hyping up the history of the Knockouts and how the division has made history and will change it.

– With some terrible acting, Alisha got pissed at Eddie Edwards for defending her honor.

– Stone Rockwell was still down about 15 minutes after the match. He was then laid out by Moose, who cut a promo calling himself a five star athlete. To Callis’ joy, Moose went for Rockwell’s eye. A slimmer Fallah Bahh then came down and Moose insulted him.

Fallah Bahh defeated Moose

Moose, who wasn’t wearing his wrestling gear, went for a spear, but Bahh sidestepped it and avalanched him. Bahh hit a hip attack in the corner and then a Banzai Drop to win. Well, this sure didn’t help Moose. It somewhat helped Bahh, but it still felt kind of random.

– Blanchard taped up to face Fulton next.

– Moose said that wasn’t a match and no one signed it. He then threatened Bahh.

Tessa Blanchard vs. Madman Fulton ended in a no contest

Callis made a great point about Blanchard losing to Sami Callihan being something that has led to her trying to prove herself here. That one loss had great meaning and still has importance now.

Blanchard ran wild with all kinds of strikes. They registered, but Fulton didn’t sell them. He caught Blanchard off of a Magnum and hit a deadlift chokeslam. Fulton tried to get an oVe chant going, but he got met with “no!” before Blanchard got tossed around.

Blanchard gave Fulton the thumbs down before Fulton got the Brock Lock bear hug and ragdolled her. Blanchard pulled out one of his dreadlocks, so Fulton bear hug slammed her. He went for a PRIDE stomp, but Blanchard evaded and hit a tornado DDT.

Blanchard slugged him and hit a running forearm, but she then ate a big boot. Sami Callihan grabbed a chair and wanted death, but Tommy Dreamer made the save.

Callihan lariated Dreamer down and went for a chokeslam, but Fulton ate a ton of kendo stick shots from Blanchard and they send Fulton packing. Other than Fulton selling for Dreamer in 2019, this was great stuff.

– Michael Elgin talked about Rhino attacking him — not the X-Division Champion and not the World Champion, but he went after the big dog. Elgin said he doesn’t know how it was in WWE. He knows Rhino was a man-beast before, but he doesn’t compare to Elgin.

– Kiera Hogan bullied a new wrestler. Madison Rayne asked who the new girl was and was mad that she didn’t introduce herself. Rayne again called herself the locker room leader before we got more catty bickering. This is the worst of what this division has been before — and it undercuts the video package hyping up the division and the entire push of Blanchard breaking down barriers.

– The Impact Plus Flashback Moment of the Week was The Young Bucks facing The Motor City Machine Guns for the Tag Team titles at Bound for Glory 2010.

– Jimmy Jacobs traveled to Brian Cage’s home to get an update on Cage’s health. Melissa Santos answered the door and said that they just want privacy. Jacobs saw Cage and wanted answers, but Santos wanted more privacy and said she’ll answer his questions next week.

Impact Tag Team Champions The North (Josh Alexander & Ethan Page) defeated The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier & Trey Miguel) to retain their titles

Alexander forearmed Miguel down to start. Miguel did a pose and got clubbed in the back before landing a pop-up rana and a 450 rana to Page. Xavier hit a somersault senton for two before each Rascal hit a pair of short-stopping swantons for two.

Alexander held onto Page to prevent an O’Connor roll, then Alexander hit an apron powerslam. Alexander backflipped off of both North guys to tag in Miguel. He ran wild on both Alexander and Page.

Alexander got two off a Blue Thunder Bomb. Miguel went for a desperation tag, but Xavier was knocked down. He then got back up for stereo tags. Xavier wheelbarrowed Alexander into Page in the corner.

Alexander ate a boatload of kicks and a basement double stomp for two. Page caught Xavier off the apron, powerslammed him on the floor, and apron powerbombed Miguel. Alexander landed a big backbreaker for two and got an ankle lock.

A head-trap superkick led to a 619 from Miguel that was countered by Alexander into a backbreaker/powerbomb for two. The North hit their back suplex/powerslam combo for 2.9 before Xavier broke it up.

Things broke down into a forearm exchange, so Alexander took his elbow pad off and knocked down Miguel before he ate a ton of Kobashi machine gun chops. Alexander hit a double shoulder-mount powerslam on the Rascalz for 2.9!

Alexander slammed the Rascalz on each other, but then missed a moonsault. The Rascalz hit a pair of uppercuts in the corner to Alexander and a head-trap superkick and double 619s to him. Miguel landed a meteora off the top before Xavier hit a crazy flip dive onto him for two.

Xavier hit a crazy low-pe to Page, with Page almost losing him completely and Xavier almost sliding right off of him. Miguel got a jackknife cradle for two.

The North hit a wheelbarrow cutter into a wheelbarrow German and a wacky double Dominator for the win. Alexander & Page as tag champs is a great role for them at this point — they are a hell of a working team even if they aren’t the most bombastic team in the world.

– Backstage, Ortiz attacked The North before they choked him with a cable. Daga then made the save for Ortiz. Good stuff overall. They teased that Konnan was trying to force Ortiz & Daga to be a team and now with this, it shows that Daga is at least willing to be on Ortiz’s side for mutual gain and doesn’t want him to get injured going into a title match.
