Becky Lynch breaks unfortunate record at WWE Clash in Italy 2026

Becky Lynch broke an unfortunate WWE record at the Clash in Italy 2026 PLE.

In the fourth match of the night at Clash in Italy in Turin, fans saw Sol Ruca defeat Becky Lynch to become the brand new WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion.

However, while doing so, Lynch broke quite an unfortunate championship record. In addition to holding the record for the longest-reigning WWE Women’s Intercontinental title at 163-days, Lynch is now also the shortest-ever Women’s Intercontinental Champion.

The finish of the match saw Lynch go for the manhandle slam near the corner, which Ruca countered. She then followed it up with the Sol Snatcher and secured the pinfall victory.

Lynch’s third title reign came to an end at just 43-days at Clash in Italy. She had previously won the title from AJ Lee at WWE WrestleMania 42. The shortest-ever title reign was previously held by both Lee and Maxxine Dupri, each for 49-days. Lynch’s second reign lasted for 54-days, while inaugural champion Lyra Valkyria held the gold for 145-days.

Just weeks after making the main roster jump to WWE RAW, Ruca has now won her first-ever WWE main-roster singles championship.

Women’s Intercontinental title rematch set for first WWE Raw of 2026

A rematch for the Women’s Intercontinental title is set for the first Raw of the new year.

Monday’s show saw Becky Lynch return from her boycott and complained about losing the title when Maxxine Dupri interrupted. She said that she agreed with Sports Illustrated that Lynch is the greatest of all time, but bragged about beating Lynch three times. She agreed to give Lynch a rematch anytime, anyplace.

Dupri then told Lynch that in this moment, the former champion didn’t look like the greatest of all time, she looked like someone who was afraid her best years were behind her. Lynch proceeded to sucker-punch Dupri and started to leave, but then went in for the attack again. Dupri countered and went for an ankle lock, with Lynch tapping out.

Dupri won the Women’s Intercontinental title during the build for Survivor Series WarGames. Lynch was distracted by the returning AJ Lee, allowing Dupri to get to the top rope and launched off with a crossbody, covering Lynch to win her first title.

Women’s IC title match official for WWE Backlash, Jey Uso vs. Logan Paul teased

The Women’s Intercontinental title will be on the line at WWE Backlash, and the World Heavyweight title appears likely to be as well.

In a match made official during Monday’s WWE Raw, Becky Lynch will challenge Lyra Valkyria for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship at Backlash in St. Louis on Saturday, May 10.

Lynch made her return to WWE at WrestleMania 41 after a hiatus of nearly a year to win the Women’s Tag Team titles with Valkyria. Valkyria had been scheduled to team with Bayley at the show, but Bayley was taken out of the match with a mystery attacker angle on the SmackDown prior.

The next night on Raw, Lynch and Valkyria lost the titles back to Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez in a WrestleMania rematch, then Lynch turned on Valkyria. On this week’s Raw, Lynch stated that there would be no drawn out whodunit, and that she had attacked Bayley.

Valkyria entered on Monday’s Raw and challenged Lynch to a fight, but Lynch begged off. Valkyria then challenged Lynch for Backlash with the title on the line, and Lynch accepted. As Valkyria exited, Lynch sneak attacked her.

Jey Uso vs. Logan Paul teased–

Another title bout may take place in St. Louis as well, with Jey Uso apparently set to defend against Logan Paul.

Paul appeared for an in-ring promo on Monday’s Raw and boasted about beating AJ Styles at WrestleMania, and said that the only thing that had eluded him in WWE was a World title. Uso entered and after a back-and-forth on the mic, laid out Paul with a superkick.

Later on Raw in a backstage segment, Paul hit Uso with a knockout punch and stood tall over the World Heavyweight Champion. The title match has yet to be made official for the May 10 show.

WWE crowns Women’s Intercontinental title number one contender

There is a new number one contender to the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship.

Dakota Kai was victorious over Ivy Nile on Monday’s WWE Raw on Netflix to earn a future Intercontinental title shot at current champion Lyra Valkyria. The title match is set for next week’s Raw.

The title match will be a rematch of the finals to crown the inaugural Women’s Intercontinental Champion last month where Valkyria defeated Kai. That match took place on the January 13 Raw.

Valkyria has not defended the title since winning it, but took part in the women’s Royal Rumble match won by Charlotte Flair, and lost an Elimination Chamber qualifying match to Bayley on last week’s Raw in Nashville.

Kai has never held singles gold in WWE, but has twice held the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles. She also held the NXT Women’s Tag titles on two occasions. The NXT Women’s Tag titles were unified with the WWE Women’s Tag titles in June 2023.

IYO SKY advances to WWE Women’s IC title tournament semifinals

SKY defeated Natalya and Alba Fyre in a triple threat quarterfinals matchup on Monday’s taped WWE Raw to move on to the semifinals, joining Lyra Valkyria, Dakota Kai, and Zoey Stark in the semis.

Stark pinned Kayden Carter in the quarterfinals on Monday’s episode in a match that also featured Raquel Rodriguez to advance to the semifinals.

Dakota Kai has already qualified for the semifinals in their half of the bracket, so Stark vs. Kai is the first semifinal bout set. On the other side of the bracket, Lyra Valkyria awaits the winner of the remaining quarterfinals triple threat bout between Natalya, Kairi Sane, and Alba Fyre.

In addition to the introduction of the Women’s Intercontinental Championship, WWE introduced the Women’s United States Championship with a tournament on the SmackDown brand that culminated in Chelsea Green being crowned the inaugural champion after winning the tournament finals at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

It isn’t known when the finals to crown the first-ever champion will take place.

WWE introduces Women’s Intercontinental Championship

Another new title has been introduced in WWE.

Shortly before Raw began, a presentation was held with WWE Raw GM Adam Pearce in the ring. It was here that he unveiled the newest title in WWE, the Women’s Intercontinental title. The segment later aired prior to the main event of Monday’s show.

In his speech, Pearce talked about the Intercontinental title being the workhorse title of the promotion. He felt the same way about the women’s division of the Raw brand, saying they have proven how they are the true workhorses of the company. He then unvieled the title, which has a similar design to the men’s Intercontinental title but with a white strap. No further details were announced.

This is the third title introduced for WWE’s women’s division this year. Kelani Jordan became the first Women’s North American Champion this past summer for the NXT brand. Earlier this month, Nick Aldis introduced the Women’s United States Championship for the SmackDown brand. A tournament is currently underway to determine the first-ever champion, who will be crowned at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 14.
