Je’Von Evans opens up about opportunity to face Gunther
21-year-old Je’Von Evans has enjoyed a meteoric rise in the wrestling business since signing with WWE in late 2023.
Evans has challenged for the United States Championship on SmackDown, wrestled Randy Orton on NXT TV, competed for the NXT Championship on numerous occasions, been heavily featured in the cross-brand partnership between WWE and TNA, and won the Rookie of the Year award from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter readers in 2024.
On this Monday’s WWE Raw, Evans will have perhaps his most high-profile match to date in taking on Gunther in The Last Time is Now tournament to determine John Cena’s final opponent in his debut match on the Raw brand.
Appearing on The Ringer Wrestling Show/The Masked Man Show with Kaz, Evans addressed his upcoming match with Gunther and what it means to him at this point in his career.
“I’m excited. I’m nervous, of course. And when I get there bro, I’m gonna have so many butterflies and all. I’ve literally watched Gunther for a very long time. I was watching Gunther on the indies, you know what I mean? Because I wanted to learn how to work against bigger people. And he was a great example of that.”
Evans continued:
“I know it’s gonna be a hard fight, bro. We’re gonna be scrapping. I’m not gonna back down either. You chop me? I’m gonna chop you back, OG. This is a great opportunity to showcase what I can do.”

WWE reveals Becky Lynch’s next IC title challenger
Becky Lynch’s next challenger for the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship has been revealed.
Maxxine Dupri is once again in line to challenge Lynch for the Intercontinental title following the events of Monday’s WWE Raw episode.
Raw GM Adam Pearce approached Dupri in a backstage segment and told Dupri that by virtue of her consecutive victories over Lynch by countout and disqualification, Dupri had earned another title shot.
Dupri agreed to the title match but said that she needed to check in with her mentor to determinie if she was ready for the shot before agreeing to a date for the title bout. Pearce agreed.
Lynch was counted out against Dupri on the October 6 Raw show after walking out on the non-title match. On the October 20 episode, Dupri was granted a title match, and Lynch hit Dupri with the title belt to force the DQ.

Becky Lynch reacts to upcoming title match on WWE Raw
Becky Lynch doesn’t want Natalya, she wants Nattie.
In a video posted on Instagram, Lynch shared footage of Natalya telling Lynch she’ll never stoop to her level then showing footage of Natalya attacking Lynch from behind through the years.
“bring this version or Nattie. I’m sick of Natalya. Ps. I never forget,” the caption reads.
Natalya and Lynch have been feuding in the last couple of weeks on Raw, with Lynch defeating Natalya’s protoge Maxxine Dupri on last week’s show. It was announced earlier this weekend that the two will now meet on Monday for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship.
2025 has seen Natalya adopt a new, more aggressive attitude outside of WWE when making appearances for promotions such as the NWA and GCW, where she has competed on Bloodsport cards. On these shows, she’s been billing herself as Nattie Neidhart as opposed to Natalya.
At Saturday’s Triplemania, she competed for the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship against Faby Apache and champion Flammer under her Nattie Neidhart persona. Flammer retained her title after pining Apache despite her foot being on the ropes.
Raquel Rodriguez & Roxanne Perez recognized as WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions
We now know what’s going on with the Women’s Tag Team titles.
After weeks of uncertainty, WWE clarified the status of the titles on Raw. Backstage, new World Tag Team Champions JD McDonagh and Finn Balor talked to Nick Aldis and Adam Pearce. Balor suggested that since Raquel Rodriguez had worked so hard to keep the Tag Team titles, she should be able to keep them with a new tag team partner, suggesting Roxanne Perez. After Pearce and Aldis briefly talked to one another they agreed to the plan, officially recognizing Rodriguez and Perez as Women’s Tag Team Champions.
The segment ended, however, with the GMs agreeing that the champions would have to prove their worth by defending the titles in a four-way match with teams from Raw, SmackDown, and NXT at WWE Evolution on July 13.
In a backstage segment later in the show, Raquel Rodriguez seemed hesitant to fully accept Perez as her new partner, noting that Morgan was already doing rehab. Balor said that rehabbing a shoulder injury would be hard work and all he wanted out of this was to see Rodriguez remain champion. A reluctant Rodriguez eventually agreed to the new situation.
Morgan suffered the shoulder injury minutes into a match with Kairi Sane on the June 16 episode of Raw. It was revealed last week that she has already undergone surgery.
Bayley challenging Becky Lynch for WWE Women’s IC title
Becky Lynch will make her first defense of the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Bayley.
The Man’s first title defense since capturing the IC title from Lyra Valkyria at Money in the Bank is official for the Monday, June 23 WWE Raw episode as announced during this week’s show.
Bayley and Lynch had an in-ring confrontation on Monday’s Raw in a follow-up to Bayley returning last week seeking vengeance on Lynch for attacking her and taking her out of WrestleMania 41 in storyline.
A King of the Ring tournament semifinals matchup will also take place next week on Raw, with Cody Rhodes going one-on-one with Jey Uso. Rhodes advanced to the semis on Friday’s SmackDown, while Uso advanced on this week’s Raw episode.
A Queen of the Ring semifinals bout is also set for the June 23 Raw, with Roxanne Perez facing Jade Cargill.
The announced card for next Monday’s WWE Raw, the final episode before the June 28 Night of Champions event:
WWE Raw, Monday, June 23 —
- Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch defends against Bayley
- King of the Ring semifinals: Cody Rhodes vs. Jey Uso
- Queen of the Ring semifinals: Jade Cargill vs. Roxanne Perez
Becky Lynch turns on Lyra Valkyria, Tag Team titles change hands on WWE Raw
The newly-formed tag team of Becky Lynch and Lyra Valkyria has already split.
One day after Lynch and Valkyria won the Women’s Tag Team titles, they dropped them right back to former champs Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez, with Lynch turning on Valkyria in the post-match.
Valkyria was pinned in the Tag title rematch on Monday’s Raw in Las Vegas, with Morgan hitting Oblivion for the finish. Lynch was repeatedly neutralized as she attempted to help her partner during the bout.
After the match, Lynch hugged Valkyria before dropping her with multiple clotheslines. Lynch left the ring, then returned to hit three Manhandle Slams on Valkyria to cement the heel turn.
Lynch returned at WrestleMania 41 after a hiatus of nearly 11 months, replacing Bayley as Valkyria’s partner. Bayley was laid out backstage in an angle on the night one of WrestleMania pre-show on Saturday, with her attacker yet to be revealed.
It was announced on Monday’s Raw that Bayley had suffered a partial shoulder dislocation in storyline, and would be on the shelf for an indeterminate amount of time.
Our live play-by-play coverage of the Raw after WrestleMania is ongoing here.
Women’s Intercontinental title match booked for next week’s WWE Raw
A match for the Women’s Intercontinental title is set for next week’s Raw.
In a promo segment during Raw, Valkyria said she appreciated Bayley helping her out against Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan last week, but she needs to stand on her own two feet as champion. After mentioning her only loss as champion so far was against Bayley in a non-title match, she will put the title on the line next week in Minneapolis.
Seth Rollins will also make his return to Raw next week. He was last seen on Friday’s SmackDown signing the contract for the three-way match between Roman Reigns and CM Punk that will headline WrestleMania Saturday, none too pleased to find out that Punk would be getting his WrestleMania main event thanks to Paul Heyman.
El Grande Americano will also be returning to action. Chad Gable told Adam Pearce backstage during Raw that he was still sick, handing him a doctor’s note. However, he changed his tune when he found out next week’s Raw would be in his hometown. Pearce said that Gable couldn’t compete, but El Grande Americano would be in action.
Here is the card for next week’s Raw:
- Women’s Intercontinental title: Lyra Valkyria defends against Bayley
- Seth Rollins returns
- El Grande Americano returns to action
Bianca Belair to referee Women’s title match on WWE Raw next week
A Women’s World title match is set for next week’s Raw.
After another confrontation between champion IYO SKY, Bianca Belair, and former champion Rhea Ripley on Raw in Glasgow, Adam Pearce announced that SKY will defend the title against Ripley in a rematch on next week’s show in London. Belair will serve as the guest referee.
On Raw, Pearce came out and declared that despite Rhea Ripley putting her name on the WrestleMania contract last week, she would not be added to the match. All three women came out in response and soon got in each other’s faces once again. It was there that Pearce made the match for next week, saying whoever won between Ripley and SKY would defend the title at WrestleMania.
Later, when Belair confronted Pearce about his decision, the RAW GM decided to make Belair the special guest referee for the upcoming match.
Jimmy Uso will take on Gunther on next week’s show as well. After Gunther shoved Jimmy off the top rope and went after his WrestleMania opponent Jey Uso, Jimmy retaliated by chasing Gunther away with a steel chair.
Logan Paul will confront AJ Styles after posting on social media he’d be at next week’s show, telling Styles to bring his soccer mom haircut to London.
John Cena and Cody Rhodes will also meet face-to-face for the third straight week. On this week’s show, Cena promised to win the WWE title at WrestleMania then retire as champion.
Here is the updated lineup for next week’s Raw in London:
- Women’s World Champion IYO SKY defends against Rhea Ripley (Bianca Belair special guest referee)
- Gunther vs. Jimmy Uso
- Logan Paul calls out AJ Styles
- John Cena & Cody Rhodes face-to-face
Raquel Rodriguez earns Women’s Intercontinental title match on WWE Raw
Raquel Rodriguez is next in line for a Women’s Intercontinental title match.
Rodriguez earned a future shot at Lyra Valkyria by defeating Bayley on Raw. The end of the match saw both Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio interfere. Bayley knocked Morgan off the apron and went for a dive on the outside but Rodriguez countered by slamming her onto the announce table. Bayley was able to make it back into the ring before the count of ten, but Raquel connected with a big boot and a tejana bomb for the win.
Valkyria won the title back on the January 13 edition of Raw, defeating Dakota Kai in the finals to crown the first-ever champion. She last defended it on the March 3, where she defeated Ivy Nile. She also recently defeated Dakota Kai in a rematch.
Since her return at last year’s Bad Blood, Rodriguez has been a part of Judgment Day, mostly associating herself with Liv Morgan and assisting her during Morgan’s run with the Women’s World title. On the February 24 edition of Raw, they defeated Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill to win the Women’s Tag Team titles.
