Two title matches set for WWE NXT Vengeance Day

Two title matches are set for next month’s Vengeance Day.

After a brawl in the parking lot, Ricky Saints and the new NXT Champion met face-to-face on Tuesday, entering a war of words with one another. Saints said Hendry was great at marketing but wasn’t about to let someone like him ruin his run in NXT, issuing the challenge for the March 7 PLE. Hendry agreed to the bout, saying he had no problem taking Saints out at Vengeance Day.

Earlier this month, Hendry won the vacant title for the first time after sending Saints crashing through a ladder.

The NXT Women’s North American title will also be defended. Izzi Dame was shown mocking Tatum Paxley’s promo from the previous week and dismissed Paxley’s claim that a new version of herself would be coming for Dame. The North American Champion said that no matter what version of Paxley appears at Vengeance Day, she would remain champion.

Tuesday marked the first time that the Vengeance Day PLE has been brought up by WWE, with no venue announced for the show. Here is the updated lineup:

NXT Vengeance Day (March 7)

  • NXT Championship: Joe Hendry defends against Ricky Saints
  • NXT Women’s North American Championship: Izzi Dame vs. Tatum Paxley

Cora Jade added to WWE NXT Vengeance Day title match, card finalized

The Women’s title match at Vengeance Day is now a four-way following Tuesday’s episode of WWE NXT.

Cora Jade defeated Bayley on Tuesday’s show, and after the contest was added to Saturday’s Vengeance Day four-way for the NXT Women’s Championship by genera manager Ava. Giulia will now defend against Bayley, Roxanne Perez, and Jade. It was a distraction from Perez dressed as Bayley’s former NXT character that allowed Jade to score the upset victory.

An NXT Tag Team title match, plus a strap match have also been added to Saturday’s card.

NXT Tag Team Champions Nathan Frazer and Axiom will defend against Josh Briggs and Yoshiki Inamura in a new match announced during Tuesday’s episode.

A strap match with Trick Williams vs. Eddy Thorpe was also made official for Saturday’s lineup. Thorpe attacked Williams with a strap last week, then issued a challenge that Williams accepted during Tuesday’s show.

The finalized card for WWE NXT Vengeance Day which streams Saturday, February 15 at 6 p.m. Eastern time on Peacock in the United States and on Netflix in most of the rest of the world:

  • NXT Champion Oba Femi defends against Grayson Waller and Austin Theory in a triple threat match
  • NXT Women’s Champion Giulia defends against Bayley, Roxanne Perez, and Cora Jade in a four-way
  • NXT Women’s North American Champion Fallon Henley defends against Stephanie Vaquer
  • NXT Tag Team Champions Nathan Frazer & Axiom defend against Josh Briggs & Yoshiki Inamura

  • Je’Von Evans vs. Ethan Page

Another mystery Vengeance Day vignette airs on WWE NXT

A follow-up to last week’s Vengeance Day teaser aired on this week’s WWE NXT, hinting at the debut of a four-person group at the PLE.

Images of the test pattern with the Vengeance Day text box appeared in a backstage segment prior to Tuesday’s WWE NXT main event, but a small reveal also closed Tuesday’s show after the closing credits rolled.

An image of four wrestlers standing in shadows briefly flashed on the screen, pointing to a debut for the new group at Vengeance Day set for Saturday, February 15.

A social media user identified the wrestlers as Saquon Shugars, Cutler James, Keanu Carver, and Dion Lennox, talent that has primarily been featured on the now defunct NXT Level Up show:

WWE posted a video including the vignette to their social media channels following Tuesday’s show:

The current WWE NXT Vengeance Day lineup for Saturday, February 15 at 6 p.m. Eastern time on Peacock:

  • NXT Champion Oba Femi defends against Grayson Waller and Austin Theory in a triple threat
  • NXT Women’s Champion Giulia defends against Bayley and Roxanne Perez in a triple threat

A mystery is afoot.

A teaser aired at the end of Tuesday’s WWE NXT episode on the CW, pointing to the February 15 Vengeance Day PLE.

After the conclusion of the main event on Tuesdays show, a blank screen and the closing credits aired, followed by a test pattern. A text box with ‘WWE Transmission’, then ‘Vengeance Day’ flashed across the test pattern in the final image shown on the program.

The Vengeance Day PLE is set for Saturday, February 15 in Washington, DC at the Entertainment and Sports Arena.

Three championship matches are set for the show, with Oba Femi vs. Austin Theory vs. Grayson Waller for the NXT Championship, Giulia vs. Bayley vs. Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women’s Championship, plus Fallon Henley vs. Stephanie Vaquer for the NXT Women’s North American Championship.

Carmelo Hayes betrays Trick Williams at WWE NXT Vengeance Day

Carmelo Hayes attacked his longtime friend Trick Williams at WWE NXT Vengeance Day.

The end of the premium live event saw Trick Williams fail to take the NXT Championship from Ilja Dragunov. Hayes and Williams embraced to end the show, but as the credits were shown Hayes suddenly clipped Williams’ leg, which he injured earlier in the night. Hayes then proceeded to repeatedly attack Williams’ knee with a chair as referees eventually stopped him from doing any more damage.

Later, in a digital exclusive, Hayes had a one-word response after being asked why he attacked his friend: “whooped.”

For the last several months, Williams has been attempting to figure out who attacked him backstage back in October. In the weeks that followed, Williams suspected Hayes, but Hayes managed to turn the attention to Lexis King. Hayes and King had a match at NXT Deadline in December, but after Hayes won, King revealed he wasn’t behind the attack.

In recent weeks, Hayes tried to get Williams to put aside his NXT Championship aspirations by getting them a spot in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. Williams wanted to focus on winning the NXT Championship at Vengeance Day, but agreed to team with Hayes based on the idea of becoming a two-time champion. However, the team lost to Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin at the start of Vengeance Day.

Lola Vice fails in Women’s title contract cash-in at WWE NXT Vengeance Day

Lola Vice failed to capture the NXT Women’s Championship at Vengeance Day.

Sunday’s NXT Women’s title match saw Roxanne Perez hit pop rocks on champion Lyra Valkyria when Vice suddenly came to the ring with her Breakout Tournament Women’s title contract, which allows her to cash in for a title match at any time. She brushed aside Tatum Paxley at ringside and handed the contract to the referee, who turned the bout into a triple threat match. However, Vice failed to pull off the victory, as she was pinned by Valkyria after being laid out with the night wish.

Vice won the contract back on October 31, defeating Kelani Jordan in the finals of the tournament. In recent weeks, she has been embroiled in a feud with former friend and associate Elektra Lopez. Last Tuesday saw Vice defeat Lopez in a match.

Oba Femi cashed in his Breakout Tournament contract back on the January 9 edition of NXT, defeating Dragon Lee in an impromptu match to win the NXT North American title. On Sunday, Femi retained the title over Lee in a rematch.

Dusty Classic finals official for WWE NXT Vengeance Day

The finals are set for this year’s WWE NXT Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.

Carmelo Hayes & Trick Williams defeated Joaquin Wilde & Cruz Del Toro of the LWO on Tuesday’s NXT episode to advance to the finals to be held at Sunday’s Vengeance Day event where they will meet Bron Breakker & Baron Corbin.

Williams will be pulling double duty on Sunday’s show where he will also challenge Ilja Dragunov for the NXT Championship in the main event.

Hayes & Williams defeated Edris Enofe & Malik Blade in the quarterfinals, then the LWO in the semifinals to punch their ticket to Sunday’s finals. Breakker & Corbin defeated Gallus in the quarterfinals, then Axiom & Nathan Frazer in the semis to advance.

The Dusty Classic winners traditionally receive an NXT Tag Team title shot at a later date. The NXT Tag Team Championship is currently held by Tony D’Angelo & Stacks Lorenzo.

The updated Vengeance Day card:

Vengeance Day contract signing, two matches announced for next WWE NXT

A Vengeance Day contract signing, a Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic semifinal bout, plus a singles match have been announced for next week’s WWE NXT.

After winning a number one contender’s battle royal-turned four-way match on this week’s episode, Roxanne Perez has earned a shot at Lyra Valkyria’s NXT Women’s Championship at Vengeance Day on February 4. The champion and number one contender will make that match official on the January 23 episode of NXT with a contract signing.

The first Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic semifinal bout is also set for next week’s show as Bron Breakker & Baron Corbin face Nathan Frazer & Axiom. The winners will advance to the Dusty Classic finals at Vengeance Day where they will take on the winners of Carmelo Hayes & Trick Williams vs. LWO’s Joaquin Wilde & Cruz Del Toro.

A grudge match will also take place on next week’s episode as Trey Bearhill faces Lexis King. King attacked Bearhill on this week’s show after Bearhill lost to Dijak.

The Tuesday, January 23 WWE NXT lineup:

  • Vengeance Day WWE NXT Women’s Championship match contract signing with Lyra Valkyria & Roxanne Perez
  • Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic semifinal: Bron Breakker & Baron Corbin vs. Nathan Frazer & Axiom
  • Lexis King vs. Trey Bearhill

Two title matches official for WWE NXT Vengeance Day

Two title matches are official for next month’s Vengeance Day event in Tennessee.

The end of Tuesday’s show saw Roxanne Perez win a battle royal to become the new number one contender for Lyra Valkyria’s NXT Women’s Championship. Earlier in the show, Ilja Dragunov and Trick Williams confirmed their NXT Championship match for February 4 after it was originally set to take place at New Year’s Evil.

The final four participants in the battle royal consisted of Perez, Kelani Jordan, Kiana James, and Fallon Henley. The match was then turned into a fatal four-way with Perez pinning Jordan to become the new number one contender. A contract signing will take place on next week’s NXT between Perez and champion Lyra Valkyria.

Dragunov resurfaced on Tuesday and told Williams that their NXT Championship match was on for Vengeance Day. This upset Carmelo Hayes, who pointed out that he and Williams are in the semifinals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, and the finals are at Vengeance Day. Williams later suggested that he could work both matches.

Also on the show, Dragon Lee challenged Oba Femi to a rematch for the North American Championship. Femi, who rejected a match against Lee right then and there, said that he would take the match for Vengeance Day under consideration.

Here is the updated card for NXT Vengeance Day on February 4:

  • NXT Championship: Ilja Dragunov defends against Trick Williams
  • NXT Women’s Championship: Lyra Valkyria defends against Roxanne Perez

WWE reveals date and location for NXT Vengeance Day 2024

WWE is bringing an NXT premium live event to Tennessee in February 2024.

The company has announced that NXT Vengeance Day 2024 will take place from F&M Bank Arena in Clarksville on Sunday, February 4. The show will air live on Peacock in the United States and WWE Network everywhere else.

Vengeance Day tickets are going on sale at 10 a.m. Central time on Friday, December 8.

A press release issued by WWE advertised  NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov, NXT Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria, NXT Tag Team Champions Tony D’Angelo & Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo, Carmelo Hayes, Trick Williams, Roxanne Perez, and Tiffany Stratton for the event.

Vengeance Day has taken place every year since debuting in 2021. The show was an NXT PLE in both 2021 and 2023. In 2022, the show was a special episode of NXT television.

Vengeance Day will be the first NXT PLE of 2024.

There’s still one NXT PLE set to take place before the end of this year. NXT Deadline is being held at Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut on Saturday, December 9.

Gallus win Tag Team titles at WWE NXT Vengeance Day

The Gallus boys are the NXT Tag Team Champions.

Mark Coffey and Wolfgang defeated champions The New Day, Pretty Deadly, and Chase U to win the titles for the first time at Saturday’s NXT Vengeance Day event. The finish of the match had Xavier Woods go for a rope walk springboard DDT, but instead was grabbed as Gallus connected with a high low, with Coffey pinning Woods to win the NXT Tag Team titles for the first time.

The New Day ends their run with the titles after 56 days. They had defeated Pretty Deadly for the titles at NXT Deadline back on December 10.

In the weeks after Deadline, Pretty Deadly had attempted to get a rematch for the titles. The New Day eventually agreed to a title match after both Pretty Deadly and the returning Gallus demanded a tag team title match. Chase U were added to the four-way match after they defeated Edris Enofe & Malik Blade and The Dyad in a three-way match on this week’s NXT.

Dabba-Kato returns at WWE NXT Vengeance Day, turns on Apollo Crews

Dabba-Kato made his return to NXT at Vengeance Day, turning on his former friend Apollo Crews.

Kato returned towards the end of the Crews/Carmelo Hayes 2 out of 3 falls match that took place Saturday. Trick Williams was on the apron about to use a chair when Kato grabbed the chair from Williams. Crews acknowledged Kato but the distraction proved to be a costly one, as Hayes regained control and pinned Crews with a top rope legdrop, winning two straight falls.

After the match, Kato helped Crews up to his feet and the two hugged. However, it was a swerve, as Kato laid out Crews with a chokeslam on the steel chair.

Kato and Crews were a unit on the main roster back when Crews was Intercontinental Champion, with Kato using the name Commander Azeez. However, he was sent back to NXT last summer, working a handful of house shows since then. He had previously used the Dabba-Kato name prior to being called up.

Three title matches set for WWE NXT Vengeance Day

The NXT and NXT Women’s Championship matches are set for the Vengeance Day event on Saturday, February 4.

As announced at the conclusion of Tuesday’s NXT episode, Bron Breakker will defend the NXT Championship in a steel cage match against Grayson Waller at Vengeance Day.

Breakker defeated Waller by countout in a title match on Tuesday’s NXT New Year’s Evil episode, but a gimmicked middle rope breaking twice during the match played into the finish. As a result, NXT authority figure Shawn Michaels announced the cage match for Vengeance Day in a sit-down with Breakker and Waller at the end of the show.

Also announced for February 4, Roxanne Perez will defend the NXT Women’s Championship in a triple threat match against Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne of Toxic Attraction.

Dolin and Jayne were declared the winners of a number one contender’s battle royal at New Year’s Evil after both hit the floor simultaneously at the conclusion of the bout.

A third title match was announced on WWE’s social media, establishing a North American title match between champion Wes Lee and challenger Dijak, who became number one contender on Tuesday’s show.

The lineup for Vengeance Day so far:

WWE NXT Vengeance Day, Saturday, February 4, 8 p.m. Eastern time on Peacock & WWE Network —

  • NXT Championship steel cage match: Bron Breakker (c) vs. Grayson Waller
  • NXT Women’s Championship triple threat match: Roxanne Perez (c) vs. Gigi Dolin vs. Jacy Jayne
  • NXT North American title match: Wes Lee (c) vs. Dijak
