WWE’s Erik undergoes surgery to remove ‘some hardware’ from arm

With his tag team partner out of action, Erik (Raymond Rowe) of The Viking Raiders has also undergone surgery.

Erik announced on social media today that he underwent surgery to remove “some hardware” from his arm. Erik wrote that he’s been putting off the surgery for a very long time.

“Today I had some hardware removed from my cyborg arm, Erik wrote. “I’ve been putting off this surgery for a very long time and just worked around and thru the pain and limitations caused by a surgical screw protruding into my triceps. For the last several years I’ve been fighting and training with one arm tied behind my back. Thanks to the wonderful Dr Dugas, I’m excited to come back at full strength. I’ll see you guys real soon.”

Ivar (Todd Smith) of The Viking Raiders underwent neck surgery last month after suffering a cervical injury during an eight-man tag match on Raw. On September 24, Ivar wrote a post-surgery update, “Little over a week post surgery, the road to recovery has begun!!! I can’t say Thank you enough to everyone for all the love and support, it has been unbelievably humbling. Better, Stronger, Healthier here I come!”

Erik was in singles action on last week’s episode of Main Event. He lost to Riddick Moss on the show.

Randy Orton segment, tag match for next title shot set for WWE Raw

The build to the WWE Championship match at SummerSlam may begin on Monday’s episode of Raw.

WWE announced tonight that Randy Orton will kick off Monday’s Raw by “announcing his next target.” Orton defeated Big Show in an unsanctioned match in the main event of Raw this past Monday.

Dave Meltzer has reported that Drew McIntyre defending his WWE Championship against Orton is scheduled for SummerSlam. The pay-per-view is taking place on Sunday, August 23.

In a rematch from Extreme Rules, McIntyre is facing Dolph Ziggler in a non-title match on Monday’s Raw. McIntyre will pick the stipulation for the match this time.

WWE has also announced that Ricochet & Cedric Alexander, The Viking Raiders, and Andrade & Angel Garza will face off in a number one contender’s triple threat tag match on Monday’s Raw. The winning team will challenge The Street Profits for the Raw Tag Team titles at SummerSlam.

The Street Profits defeated Andrade & Garza in a non-title match on Raw this week. Later in the episode, Andrade & Garza attacked Big Show during his unsanctioned match against Orton. The Viking Raiders then came out to make the save and brawled with Andrade & Garza.

Ricochet & Alexander teamed with the returning Mustafa Ali to defeat MVP, Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin in a six-man tag match on this week’s Raw.

Also set for Monday’s Raw is Asuka vs. Sasha Banks for the Raw Women’s Championship. The title can change hands via pinfall, submission, countout, disqualification, or if anyone interferes.

‘Night of grudge matches’ announced for WWE Raw

WWE is promoting that Monday’s Raw will feature a “night of grudge matches.”

That was hyped during a commercial that aired during tonight’s episode of SmackDown. In addition to the already announced Women’s Tag Team title match with Sasha Banks & Bayley defending against Asuka & Kairi Sane, Monday’s Raw will feature Randy Orton vs. R-Truth, Seth Rollins vs. Kevin Owens, and The Viking Raiders vs. Andrade & Angel Garza in an elimination tag team match.

Orton, Andrade & Garza defeated Big Show & The Viking Raiders on Raw this past Monday. There was also a backstage segment on Monday’s show where 24/7 Champion R-Truth ran into Orton as he was trying to avoid Akira Tozawa. Truth questioned if Flair was Tozawa in disguise. Truth ran off as Tozawa and his ninjas approached. Orton asked if they were looking for Truth and then pointed them in the wrong direction.

There’s recently been dissension between Andrade & Garza. Their feud with The Viking Raiders began when The Viking Raiders saved The Street Profits from an attack by Andrade & Garza last month.

Rollins vs. Owens is a rematch from WrestleMania 36. Owens defeated Rollins in that match. On this week’s Raw, Owens teamed up with Rey Mysterio and defeated Rollins & Murphy. The match decided whether Mysterio or Rollins would pick the stipulation for their match at Extreme Rules. Mysterio pinned Murphy and then revealed that he’ll face Rollins in an eye for an eye match at the pay-per-view.

Monday’s Raw is the brand’s go-home show for Extreme Rules.

Two tag matches set for WWE Raw, Rey Mysterio returning to action

WWE has announced a pair of tag team matches that will air on tonight’s episode of Raw.

Rey Mysterio is teaming up with Aleister Black against Seth Rollins & Murphy on tonight’s Raw. Big Show & The Viking Raiders vs. Randy Orton, Andrade & Angel Garza is also set for the show.

This will be the first time Mysterio has wrestled since the angle where his eye was attacked by Rollins in May.

Dave Meltzer has reported that — after his deal expired — Mysterio is currently working without a WWE contract. Meltzer noted that there was a plan for Mysterio to face Rollins in an “eye for an eye” match at Extreme Rules, though that has yet to be announced.

WWE is teasing that Dolph Ziggler may choose the stipulation for his WWE Championship match against Drew McIntyre at Extreme Rules on tonight’s Raw. The pay-per-view is taking place on Sunday, July 19.

Raw Women’s Champion Asuka vs. SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley in a non-title champion vs. champion match will also take place on tonight’s Raw.

Three matches announced for WWE Raw, Big Show & Flair to appear

WWE has announced three matches and a segment that will be airing on tonight’s episode of Raw.

United States Champion Apollo Crews vs. MVP in a non-title match, The Viking Raiders vs. Andrade & Angel Garza, and Akira Tozawa defending the 24/7 Championship against R-Truth are set for the episode.

WWE has also announced that Big Show and Ric Flair will appear on tonight’s Raw. Big Show confronted Randy Orton and Flair last week during the segment where Flair was anointing Orton as the greatest wrestler ever.

Crews defeated Shelton Benjamin in non-title matches on Raw each of the past two weeks. MVP has been trying to recruit Crews and there was a VIP Lounge segment with the two of them last week. MVP mentioned his previous 343-day reign as United States Champion and said that — whether Crews likes it or not — the US title is coming back home to him where it belongs.

A distraction by MVP allowed Benjamin to attack Crews before their match last week. After the match, Bobby Lashley put Crews in a full nelson.

Tozawa won the 24/7 title from R-Truth last week after MVP and Lashley took out Tozawa’s ninjas and Lashley put Truth in the full nelson.

The Street Profits retained their Raw Tag Team titles against The Viking Raiders on last Monday’s show. Andrade & Garza attacked The Street Profits after until The Viking Raiders made the save.

Tonight’s Raw was supposed to be taped last Friday, but the tapings for the show were pushed back to Saturday. It was confirmed last week that multiple people in WWE have tested positive for COVID-19.

Tonight’s show will feature a double contract signing for Drew McIntyre vs. Dolph Ziggler for the WWE Championship and Asuka vs. Sasha Banks for the Raw Women’s Championship at Extreme Rules. The contract signing will be hosted by Samoa Joe and will feature all of the participants in the ring at the same time. The feud between Seth Rollins and Rey Mysterio will also continue tonight.

Raw Tag Team title match added to WWE Backlash

The Street Profits and The Viking Raiders are finally set to face off with the Raw Tag Team titles on the line.

Ahead of tonight’s Backlash pay-per-view, WWE announced that The Street Profits defending their Raw Tag Team titles against The Viking Raiders has been added to the show’s card. The teams have recently been featured in an “anything you can do, we can do better” series of non-wrestling competitions.

The Street Profits and Viking Raiders faced each other in basketball, axe throwing, golf, and bowling. They were tied at the end of those events, leading into a decathlon on last Monday’s episode of Raw. But that also ended in a 5-5 tie.

The program between the teams began when The Viking Raiders cut a promo in April saying that The Street Profits are a great team, but they’ve only risen to the top when The Viking Raiders aren’t around. The Viking Raiders also defeated The Street Profits in a non-title match on the May 4 episode of Raw.

The Street Profits have been Raw Tag Team Champions since winning the titles from Seth Rollins & Murphy in March.

Here’s the updated card for Backlash:

  • Edge vs. Randy Orton
  • WWE Champion Drew McIntyre defending against Bobby Lashley
  • Raw Women’s Champion Asuka defending against Nia Jax
  • Universal Champion Braun Strowman defending against The Miz & John Morrison in a handicap match
  • Women’s Tag Team Champions Bayley & Sasha Banks defending against Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross and The IIconics in a triple threat match
  • Raw Tag Team Champions The Street Profits defending against The Viking Raiders
  • United States Champion Apollo Crews defending against Andrade
  • Jeff Hardy vs. Sheamus

Street Profits-Viking Raiders decathlon set for WWE Raw

With their series tied at 2-2, The Street Profits and The Viking Raiders are set for another non-wrestling segment on Raw next week.

It was announced on Raw Talk last night that The Street Profits and Viking Raiders will face off in a decathlon next Monday. They’ve previously competed in basketball, axe-throwing, golf, and bowling.

Samoa Joe said the decathlon will consist of varied events spread across The Street Profits and Viking Raiders’ skill sets.

The rivalry between the teams began when The Viking Raiders cut a promo in April saying that The Street Profits are a great team — but they’ve only risen to the top when The Viking Raiders aren’t around. The Viking Raiders have said that anything The Street Profits can do, they can do better.

The Street Profits are the current Raw Tag Team Champions. The Viking Raiders defeated them in a non-title match on Raw four weeks ago.

Next Monday’s Raw is the go-home show for Backlash.

Street Profits-Viking Raiders axe-throwing segment set for WWE Raw

The feud between The Street Profits and The Viking Raiders will continue with another non-wrestling segment on this week’s Raw.

WWE has announced that an axe-throwing contest between The Street Profits and Viking Raiders will air on tomorrow’s episode of Raw. It will follow up on the segment from last week’s show where the teams faced off in a basketball game.

In the basketball game, The Street Profits won 74-2. But the story was that The Viking Raiders let The Street Profits win and were only pretending to be bad at basketball. Erik told The Street Profits that anything they can do, The Viking Raiders can do better.

The Street Profits are the current Raw Tag Team Champions. They lost a non-title match to The Viking Raiders on Raw two weeks ago, with that match being set up the previous week when The Viking Raiders issued the challenge and said The Street Profits are a great team but have only risen to the top when The Viking Raiders aren’t around.

As part of the brand-to-brand invitation, WWE Champion Drew McIntyre will face SmackDown’s Baron Corbin in a non-title match on tomorrow’s Raw. Women’s Tag Team Champions Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross will defend their titles against The IIconics on the show.

The Street Profits vs. Viking Raiders set for next week’s WWE Raw

Note: This post originally said that the Raw Tag Team titles will be on the line in next week’s match.

The Street Profits and The Viking Raiders are set to face off on Raw’s go-home show for Money in the Bank.

The match was confirmed for next Monday’s episode after The Street Profits accepted a challenge from The Viking Raiders tonight. A tweet from WWE indicated that The Street Profits’ Raw Tag team titles would be on the line, but that wasn’t mentioned when the match was announced.

The Viking Raiders cut a backstage promo on tonight’s Raw saying that The Street Profits are a great tag team, but they’ve only risen to the top when The Viking Raiders aren’t around. They said The Street Profits only won the NXT Tag Team titles after The Viking Raiders relinquished them and only won the Raw Tag Team titles when The Viking Raiders were unable to compete.

The Viking Raiders said The Street Profits will always be second best as long as they’re around, then dared The Street Profits to prove them wrong.

Later on tonight’s show, The Street Profits responded to The Viking Raiders and agreed to face them next week.

Tag team match added to WWE Elimination Chamber pre-show

A pre-show match has been added to tonight’s Elimination Chamber pay-per-view.

The Viking Raiders will face off with Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder on the pre-show tonight. The announcement of that match was made on today’s pre-Elimination Chamber edition of WWE Now.

The Viking Raiders and Hawkins & Ryder are both part of the Raw tag team division. New Raw Tag Team Champions The Street Profits are defending their titles against former champions Seth Rollins & Murphy on tonight’s main card.

The Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is hosting Elimination Chamber tonight. It’s WWE’s last PPV before WrestleMania 36.

Tonight’s pre-show begins at 6 p.m. Eastern time, with the main card starting an hour later. Here’s the updated card for the PPV:

  • United States Champion Andrade defending against Humberto Carrillo
  • No DQ match: AJ Styles vs. Aleister Black
  • Daniel Bryan vs. Drew Gulak
  • The Viking Raiders vs. Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder (pre-show)

Three matches added to WWE Super ShowDown

Ahead of the show taking place tomorrow, WWE has added three more matches to the card for Super ShowDown.

Two of the newly announced matches will take place on the main card, while the other is set for the Super ShowDown pre-show. Mansoor vs. Dolph Ziggler and Angel Garza vs. Humberto Carrillo are set for the main card. The Viking Raiders will face Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson on the pre-show.

NXT’s Mansoor has been pushed as a hometown hero at WWE’s events in Saudi Arabia, winning the 50-man battle royal at last year’s Super ShowDown and defeating Cesaro at Crown Jewel in October.

Garza defeated Carrillo in their match on this week’s Raw. They’ll face off again in a tag team match next Monday, with Garza teaming with Andrade against Carrillo & Rey Mysterio.

At October’s Crown Jewel event, Gallows & Anderson last eliminated The Viking Raiders to win the World Cup tag team turmoil match.

The Super ShowDown pre-show will begin on the WWE Network at 11 a.m. Eastern time tomorrow, with the main card starting an hour later. The show is taking place at Mohammed Abdu Arena on the Boulevard in Riyadh.

The Raw Tag Team titles will be on the line on Monday’s go-home show for Survivor Series.

WWE set up Ryder & Hawkins getting the title shot by them defeating The OC’s Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson and The Street Profits in a triple threat match at today’s house show in Mannheim, Germany.

Hawkins rolled up Anderson to get the win.

SmackDown Tag Team Champions The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Big E) also have a title defense before Survivor Series. Former champions The Revival will get their rematch for the titles on tomorrow’s SmackDown.

The Raw Tag Team Champions and SmackDown Tag Team Champions will face NXT Tag Team Champions The Undisputed Era (Kyle O’Reilly & Bobby Fish) in a non-title triple threat match at Survivor Series on Sunday, November 24.

Monday’s Raw is taking place at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.

Viking Raiders to challenge for WWE Raw Tag Team titles next week

In addition to it being the second night of the WWE Draft, next week’s episode of Raw will include a Tag Team title match.

WWE has announced that Raw Tag Team Champions Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode will defend their titles against The Viking Raiders next Monday (October 14). The episode is taking place at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado.

The title match was set up by The Viking Raiders defeating Ziggler & Roode in non-title action tonight. Ziggler was pinned after being hit with The Viking Experience.

A promo by The Viking Raiders aired later in the show, with them saying that Ziggler & Roode learned that nothing and no one can keep The Viking Raiders from their fate. The Viking Raiders said they’ll become the new Raw Tag Team Champions next week.

The WWE Draft begins on this Friday’s episode of SmackDown and will conclude on Raw next Monday.

New Day to face The Viking Raiders on WWE Raw

A first-time tag team matchup is set for Monday’s episode of Raw.

On this Tuesday’s SmackDown, Big E & Woods defeated SmackDown Tag Team Champions Bryan & Rowan in a non-title match and then teamed with Heavy Machinery to defeat Bryan, Rowan, Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn.

Kingston began a feud with Samoa Joe this week and will defend his WWE Championship against Joe at Extreme Rules on July 14.

The Viking Raiders defeated Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson on Raw this Monday.

Monday’s Raw is taking place at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. Braun Strowman vs. Bobby Lashley in a falls count anywhere match has also been announced for the episode.
