Impact Wrestling live results: Omega-Callihan contract signing

Impact World Champion Kenny Omega and Sami Callihan will have a contract signing on Thursday’s Impact Wrestling ahead of their title match at the upcoming Slammiversary pay-per-view.

As seen in the preview clip for the show, the signing breaks down into a brawl. Callihan was given the shot in lieu of being added to last month’s Omega vs. Moose Impact World Championship match at Against All Odds.

In a number one contender’s match for the Knockouts Tag Team titles, Rosemary and Havok will face Susan and Kimber Lee with the winners facing champions Fire N’ Flava at the pay-per-view.

Stemming from recent conflicts, Jake Something will take on Brian Myers with Myers having to admit Something is a professional if he goes down in defeat.

The BTI pre-show match will feature Steve Maclin looking to remain undefeated when he faces Suicide.

Our live coverage begins at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

Steve Maclin defeated Suicide on BTI

Opening video recapped W. Morrissey took out Eddie Edwards in the parking lot, the six man tag main event with Omega and the Good Brothers vs Callihan, Moose, and Sabin, that ended with Moose and Sabin getting into a fight and Omega picking the win for his team.

Show opened with Kenny Omega and Don Callis arriving at the building for tonight’s contract signing with Sami Callihan.

Jake Something defeated Bryan Myers (with Sam Beale)

Stipulation to this match was that whoever lost, had to publicly accept and say that the other was a ‘professional’. Something and Myers have been feuding since Against All Odds, when Something interrupted Myers’ teachings to Beale.

Match started with Something in control, both inside and outside the ring, but as the referee prevented Something from keeping the match on the floor, Myers recovered and took out Something during the distraction.

Myers worked over Something for a little bit, since Something made a comeback only a couple of minutes later. Not even Beale interfering extended that heat run.

Something got the first near fall with a powerbomb, went for a spear, but Myers cut him off, hit a DDT and got one himself. Myers hit a top rope elbow for a second near fall. Finish saw Myers go for the roster cut, but Something got him with the blackhole slam first and picked up the win. Not much to this match.

Myers got the mic, but before he said anything, Beale attacked Something from behind. The teamed up on Something until Matt Cardona made his return to even the odds, hit radio silence on Beale, and cleared the ring. We’re not done with Cardona vs Myers.

– D’lo Brown & Josh Matthews ran down tonight’s card and a quick update on Slammiversary.

– Gia Miller interviewed Deonna Purrazzo that now that she’s by herself and with no contenders, what are her plans. Purrazzo talked about all the things that she has achieved while Kimber Lee and Susan never did anything while they were with her. She said she was headed to the ring to make an open challenge to anyone who wanted a shot at her.

– Miller interviewed Sami Callihan and asked for Callihan’s thoughts on tonight’s contract signing. Callihan was barely starting when a sheriff approached and arrested Callihan for assault and battery on Don Callis. The belief is that this attack happened minutes ago.

Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo defeated Lady Frost

Lady Frost is making her Impact debut.

Match started with both women doing some chain wrestling and reversals, with Frost showing that she could hang with Purrazzo in her game, but it quickly changed when Purrazzo cut Frost off and went for a striking approach. Frost came back with strikes too, but failed to land a moonsault double knee. Purrazzo locked in the Fujiwara armbar and tapped her out. Good showing for Frost, even if the match went down as a squash.

After the match, Purrazzo said that she had just shown that she’s ready for anyone at any time and she proved that with Frost. Suddenly, Gail Kim came out to the ring.

Before Kim could talk, Purrazzo thanked her for all the things she had done for women in wrestling, but she expected the same amount of respect and didn’t want to get interrupted. Kim said she respected Purrazzo and was proud of all the things she had achieved. Kim was there to talk about Slammiversary, Purrazzo thought that Kim was challenging, but Kim told her that it wasn’t her who would be at Slammiversary, she was retired. Kim said that at Slammiversary, Purrazzo will be defending against a surprise opponent, revealed at Slammiversary.

Kim told Purrazzo that since she just said she could take on anyone without preparing, she didn’t need to know who her opponent was.

– Impact+ Flashback Moment of the Week was Mickey James vs Angelina Love for the Knockouts Championship at Slammiversary 9. Hints?

– Over at Swinger’s Palace, Moose jumped Chris Sabin. That was it.

– Miller interviewed Chris Bey about finally getting involved in the X Division warfare happening. He said that he picked a side because Austin and Raju brought in Shera and Fulton and he agreed they made it harder for the rest and him to get an advantage.

W. Morrissey defeated Jason Page, DeAnte Evans, and Danny Smith

Before the match, Morrissey accepted Eddie Edwards’ challenge at Slammiversary. Edwards made the challenge after Morrissey jumped Edwards last week.

The match was a squash, he hit a couple of clotheslines, powerbombs, and an ugly looking F-5 before stacking them up and pinning all three at the same time. Even for a squash, this wasn’t that good.

Morrissey vs Edwards at Slammiversary confirmed.

– Miller approached Don Callis about the report of Callihan assaulting him. Callis, in a serious manner, indeed confirmed that Callihan had attacked him and that he had been to counseling and trying to overcome the psychological harm. Callis said he had footage of the attack and would show it.

The footage shows someone dressed as Callihan, with sharpie tattoos, attacking Callis. D’Amore approached Callis and told them they still expected him and Omega for the contract signing. He said that even without Callihan, he needed a main event at Slammiversary.

Rosemary & Havok defeated Kimber Lee & Susan in a Knockouts Championship number 1 contendership match

After breaking away from Purrazzo, Kimber Lee and Susan started chasing the tag titles that Fire ‘n Flava hold. Rosemary and Havok have a couple of singles wins over Hogan and Steelz, and so they’re also chasing the championships. This is a number one contendership match for Slammiversary.

Match was back and forth, both teams traded momentum on a couple of occasions, but in the end, Rosemary got the win over Susan with a spear. This was really short and not much to it.

Rosemary and Havok earned a title shot against Kiera Hogan & Tasha Steelz at Slammiversary.

– We had a new episode of All About Me with Tenille Dashwood. This week’s special guest interviewer was Jazz. Dashwood got angry that Jazz didn’t have questions for her, so she said that she went on a rant about feeling betrayed that no one in the roster can figure out their own problems and tag team with her. She felt that Rachael Ellering was the perfect choice and Jazz ruined everything.

Dashwood attacked Jazz as she was leaving.

After the commercial break, Jordynne Grace and Rachael Ellering cut a promo addressing Dashwood and Kaleb’s attack on Jazz. They challenged them to a match for next week.

– Last week, Swann & Mack wrestled TJP and Bahh, trying to earn a shot at the tag team titles, but the champions, VIolent By Design, attacked both teams.

Swann cut a promo saying that he and Mack are about fighting and that VBD messed with their business and attacked them from behind. Swann and Mack challenged them to face them in the ring and put the titles on the line.

TJP and Fallah Bahh came out instead. TJP said that Swann and Mack and them, they all have a common enemy and both teams have a score to settle, but he wasn’t going to let them use that excuse to get a shot for the titles, because the line was behind TJP and Bahh. As they argued who deserved the spot, Violent By Design showed up.

As the three teams were getting face to face, none other than the Good Brothers came out, dressed for halloween. Gallows preached that it was about time that they regained the titles.

Tommy Dreamer, the new Anthem representative, came out and announced that VBD will defend the titles against all three teams at Slammiversary. Dreamer said that tonight, we’re getting a 4-way match to preview that match.

Karl Anderson (with Doc Gallows) defeated Rich Swann (with Willie Mack),  Deaner (with VBD), and TJP (with Fallah Bahh)

The story of the match was that we always had two matches happening, one inside the ring, one outside, and all four men kept taking turns to mix up the pairings.

Early on, we saw TJP get the better of Swann, only for Deaner to get in the ring for some heat on TJP. The rhythm eventually broke down when Swann got everyone on the floor for a top rope senton.

After the dive, Anderson took out TJP on the guardrail, while Deaner and Swann fought in the ring. Anderson tried to join Deaner against Swann, but Deaner attacked Anderson equally.

Towards the end, all four men got in the ring, taking turns to get some offense in. TJP hit a detonation kick on Anderson, went for a mamba splash on Deaner, but Deaner moved. Swann took out TJP, only for Deaner to jump in and hit the Deaner DDT on Swann for a near fall. Deaner got rid of TJP, but was then caught by a gun stun by Anderson for the pin. Good match, should be even better at Slammiversary with the big lads in.

After the match, Doc Gallows got face to face with Joe Doering. The Good Brothers walk away with the momentum.

– Backstage, Kimber Lee told Susan that she had a backup plan if they lost tonight. Father James Mitchell walked up and took Susan. Mitchell told Lee that he promised nothing, but it was Lee’s last resort.

– Brown and Matthews ran down the updated card for Slammiversary. Also for next week, Raju, Austin, Shera, & Fulton vs Bey, Alexander, Miguel, & Williams; Bahh vs Gallows vs Doering vs Mack; Havok vs Tasha Steelz; and Tenille Dashwood and Kaleb with a K vs Grace & Ellering.

– Finally, it was time for the Slammiversary main event contract signing. D’Amore said that he expected that Callihan would be available for Slammiversary and all problems solved, but that he was not going to make it for tonight’s contract signing. Nonetheless, Kenny Omega and Don Callis were there to sign the contract.

Callis first cut a promo about Callihan being a man with many strikes and being unreliable. Omega signed the contract, but right after doing so, we got video footage of Callis recording the fake attack and revealing that he had paid Johnny Swinger and John E. Bravo to help him.

Sami Callihan suddenly appeared and brawled with Omega, low blowed Omega and hit the package piledriver. Callihan signed the contract and made it official. Before leaving, Callihan powerbombed Omega through the table and posed with the title.

Impact Wrestling live results: Kenny Omega in six-man tag action

Preview by Josh Nason

Attempting to get a measure of revenge for being fired, Don Callis has assembled Impact World Champion Kenny Omega and the Good Brothers for a six-man tag team match against Sami Callihan, Moose and Chris Sabin, put together by Tommy Dreamer after Callis suggested the idea.

The match will be a preview for the July Slammiversary clash between Omega and Callihan for Omega’s title in addition to Moose vs. Sabin.

Thursday’s show will also feature Eddie Edwards vs. Satoshi Kojima one week after the two failed to wrest the Tag Team Titles away from Violent By Design; Chris Bey vs. Petey Williams in a match between former X-Division Champions; and TJP and Fallah Bahh vs. Rich Swann and Willie Mack.

A week after she defeated Susan, Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo will take on Kimber Lee in a non-title match on the BTI pre-show as the feud between the former stablemates rages on.

Our live coverage begins at 8 PM Eastern.

Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo defeated Kimber Lee (with Susan) in a non-title match on BTI.

* * * * * * * * * *

Opening video recapped Don Callis and Tommy Dreamer setting up tonight’s main event between Omega and the Good Brothers vs Callihan, Moose, and Sabin. Also, Edwards and Kojima challenged for the tag team titles last week, which ended with Edwards asking Kojima for a singles match, only to get confronted by W. Morrissey.

Show was going to open with Edwards vs Kojima, but before Edwards could come out, W. Morrissey appeared on the screen and said that Edwards was not going to make it to the match tonight. Morrissey said that everyone respected Edwards, but no one had his back when he jumped him in the parking lot.

Instead of Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers and Sam Beale came out. Myers talked trash to Kojima and ended up attacking him 2-on-1 until Jake Something came down for the save. Referee came out with word from management that a tag match was now official.

Satoshi Kojima & Jake Something defeated Brian Myers & Sam Beale

Match started as a brawl outside the ring, when Kojima and Something brought back Myers and Beale after they tried to leave to the back.

Once in the ring, Something got cut off by Myers and Beale, worked on for most of the match, they kept tagging in and out, never letting go of Something. It was until Something managed to hit a desperation double clothesline that he got a short breather, enough to tag Kojima in.

Kojima took out Myers, hit the machine gun chops on Beale, the top rope elbow, DDT, but as he was about to hit the Koji cutter, he got cut off by Myers. Something hit a blackhole slam on Myers, allowing Kojima to hit the Koji cutter and lariato for the win.

I take it Kojima either didn’t understand Morrissey, or he just wasn’t all that concerned about Edwards getting jumped outside the building. This should be his final night with Impact, so he probably didn’t care much about Edwards.

– Gia Miller interviewed D’Amore about Anthem’s decision to have Dreamer as their representative to oversee operations. He didn’t say much before Rosemary and Havok appeared before them and claimed that they had wins over Fire ‘n Flava and wanted to challenge for the Knockouts tag titles. D’Amore didn’t make it official, but he was going to consider it if they kept the magic to a minimum.

– D’lo Brown and Josh Matthews ran down tonight’s card.

Rachael Ellering (with Jazz) defeated Tenille Dashwood (with Kaleb with a K)

For weeks, Dashwood has been a thorn in Ellering’s shoe, she worsened the rift between Jordynne Grace and Ellering, and after weeks of polite rejections, Ellering finally had enough of Dashwood and challenged her to a match.

The action was back and forward early on, but as Ellering started to gain momentum, Kaleb was there to distract her and allowed Dashwood to cut her off and turned things around.

Dashwood had control for a long while, she kept going for pin attempts, but Ellering kept kicking out regardless of what Dashwood would throw at her. It wasn’t until Dashwood distracted herself taking a photo, that Ellering caught her  with a running swinging neckbreaker and was able to cut off the momentum. Kaleb tried to interfere and give Dashwood control again, but Ellering got rid of him, blocked a sunset flip from Dashwood, and rolled her down for the pin win.

Dashwood and Kaleb ganged up on Ellering and later Jazz when Jazz tried to save Ellering. Grace ran down and helped clear the ring. Ellering offered a handshake, but Grace instead hugged her for the reconciliation. I was surprised they didn’t milk the dissension more.

– Miller interviewed Chris Bey about being a neutral party in the gang war that is happening in the X Division. Bey said that he was out there for himself only. Austin, Raju, Shera, and Fulton came down, and while Bey thought they would try to recruit them, they told Bey they didn’t need him, but appreciated he wasn’t getting in the way. The Chris Bey babyface turn is coming.

Rich Swann & Willie Mack vs TJP & Fallah Bahh ended in no contest.

While not official, this match came about as a friendly challenge between each team, as they both have eyed the tag team championships, currently in the hands of Violent By Design.

This was a fun match. It started with some stalemates between both teams, some high flying moves from Swann, but suddenly, Violent By Design ran down and attacked both teams. Rhino gored Mack, Deaner hit the Deaner DDT on TJP, Doering hit a DVD on Swann, and both teams were left laying as VBD posed over their bodies.

This surely has to set up a 3-way tag match for Slammiversary.

– Backstage, Hogan and Steelz argued that Havok and Rosemary shouldn’t be allowed to just jump in and ask for a title challenge, they should work from the bottom to earn their spot. They went looking for D’Amore, and as usual, as means to get rid of Steelz and Hogan, D’Amore just booked a match where Havok and Rosemary can earn their shot. Hogan and Steelz are too good.

– Miller interviewed Dreamer and his team for tonight’s match and whether everyone is on the same page. Dreamer told them that they all had the same enemy and they needed to work together. Sabin said that he was there for Dreamer and Impact, and was willing to work with the team for it. Moose told them that he doesn’t care about anyone, all he cares about is winning. Callihan said that all that matters is beating up Omega and company.

Chris Bey defeated Petey Williams

Similar to Bey’s issues with Austin and Raju, he also has issues with Petey Williams and Trey Miguel, as they also hoped he’d join them to confront Austin and Raju, and instead, Bey left them for dead.

Great fast paced back and forward match. Williams got a couple of bear falls early on, but momentum quickly turned when Bey caught him with a scissors kick between the ropes. The match finally slowed down when Bey locked leg scissors on Williams, but he reversed the lock. Williams came back with a big German, running knees, but when he went for the Canadian destroyer, Bey blocked and hit a TKO version neckbreaker. Bey went for the art of finesse, but was countered into a Russian side leg sweep. Williams once again chased the destroyer, but was blocked and instead locked in the sharpshooter for another near fall.

Finish finally came after Bey blocked yet another destroyer, hit a cutter and the art of finesse for the win.

These two will meet again on Slammiversary in the Ultimate X match for the D Division title.

After the match, Ace Austin, Rohit Raju, Shera, and Fulton all came out. They attacked Williams while Austin and Raju teased Bey to not get involved. Bey was leaving to the back when Miguel and Josh Alexander ran down to save Williams. The numbers game was too much though, but Bey eventually had a change of heart and ran down to help attack Austin and friends. All the babyfaces took out Raju and Austin and controlled the ring. All the babyfaces accepted Bey to their side.

– Backstage, Susan and Kimber Lee plotted that their plans had failed and they had hit rock bottom. Lee tried to convince Susan that they should chase the titles, and if everything else fails, there’s always Su Yung as a backup plan. Susan didn’t know who Su Yung was.

– Jake Something cut a promo about not being the man he was before, he was strong and it didn’t matter what his name was, because he did the talking in the ring. He challenged Brian Myers to a match and if he wins, Myers must call him “professional”.

Steve Maclin defeated Manny Smith

Maclin debuted a couple of weeks ago, this being only his second match.

This was a squash match through and through, and while it was somewhat longer than usual, Maclin never lost control. Maclin got a headlock early on and kept it for a while, hit an olympic slam, a couple of lariats, a spear to a Smith on the tree of woe, and finally, a German and elbows before hitting his signature Michinoku driver II-B for the win.

Team Callis (Kenny Omega, Karl Anderson, & Doc Gallows) (with Don Callis) defeated Team Dreamer (Sami Callihan, Chris Sabin, & Moose) (with Tommy Dreamer)

Two weeks ago, Dreamer, on behalf of Anthem, fired Don Callis from his EVP position with Impact Wrestling. Last week, in a passive aggressive way, Callis challenged Dreamer to come up with a team to challenge his team of Omega and the Good Brothers.

Team Dreamer is a bit of turmoil, as Sabin and Moose are currently feuding and set to wrestle each other at Slammiversary, but also, neither man is on great terms with Callihan, who has always been the antagonist.

The dissension between Moose and Sabin quickly came up, and so Callihan decided to tag in first and deal with the match himself. He managed to maintain control throughout the break, working ok with Sabin, but once again, Sabin and Moose started tagging each other the hard way, and it was through these distractions, that Anderson was able to cut off Sabin and turned things around.

Omega and the Brothers mostly worked over Sabin with quick tags, a couple of triple team moves, constantly going for the head with strikes and chokes. Sabin at one point managed to escape and jump for the hot tag, but Moose didn’t extend the hand, so instead Callihan had to jump in for the hot tag.

Callihan was going for the package piledriver on Anderson, but Omega distracted the referee to allow Anderson to low blow Callihan and force him to tag in Sabin again. Sabin did keep down Omega and company, but now Moose blind tagged himself in, cut off Sabin’s momentum, and when Sabin complained, Moose instead tagged himself out via chokeslam on Sabin.

Outside the ring, Dreamer complained to Moose about turning on them, but because Callis pushed Dreamer into Moose without them noticing, Moose thought that Dreamer had attacked and so attacked back.

Back in the ring, without Moose and Callihan, Sabin was an easy prey for Omega and the Good Brothers to finish and pin for the win.

Omega and company celebrated in the ring as the show went off the air.

Impact’s Sami Callihan, Havok announce engagement

Impact Wrestling talents Sami Callihan and Havok are engaged to be married.

Havok (real name Jessica Cricks) revealed the news on her Instagram Sunday, saying Callihan (real name Sam Johnston) surprised her by proposing after she had ended a live stream from the Mothman statue at the Mothman Museum in Point Pleasant, West Virginia.

“I almost couldn’t believe it. I am so overwhelmed with happiness. I didn’t know how to react, so i started crying. Lol tears of joy. I don’t know what to say. P.s. I said yes,” she wrote.

Sunday was also her 35th birthday. The two are both Ohio natives and are well-traveled in their pro wrestling careers. Havok rejoined Impact in 2019 while Callihan has been with the company since 2017.

Next up for Callihan is an Impact World title shot against Kenny Omega at July’s Slammiversary pay-per-view while Havok is between storylines.

Impact Wrestling live results: The fallout from Against All Odds

Preview by Josh Nason

The future of Sami Callihan in Impact Wrestling and his World title shot at Slammiversary are expected to be decided on tonight’s show.

At last Saturday’s Against All Odds, the former World Champion was fired in storyline by Don Callis after he attacked Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks after Omega defended the title against Moose. Callihan was scheduled to challenge Omega at next month’s pay-per-view before the storyline executive fired him.

On tonight’s show, fellow Impact VP Scott D’Amore will address the situation with Callis.

The lineup will also include Satoshi Kojima vs. Violent by Design’s Deaner with a future Tag Team title shot for Kojima and Eddie Edwards on the line; the promotional debut of Steve Maclin, X-Division Champion Josh Alexander vs. Madman Fulton in a non-title match; Rachael Ellering vs. Tenille Dashwood; Black Taurus vs. TJP, and a confrontation between Moose and Chris Sabin.

The BTI pre-show match is Daivari vs. Jake Something.

**********

A recap of the Kenny Omega-Don Callis saga aired to begin the show. The recap showed moments of the Against All Odds main event between Kenny and Moose.

Moose was shown backstage banging Scott D’Amore’s door down. Moose demanded a rematch against Omega after the Young Bucks interfered in the Impact World Championship match at Against All Odds.

******

TJP defeated Black Taurus via pinfall

TJP was his usual self in this match, keeping a fast and exciting pace with Taurus. Taurus was able to keep up most of the way through the first portion of the match before he began to work on the back of TJP.

Taurus had some more offense before TJP turned the momentum back up and nailed his opponent with a tornado DDT.

TJP wasted no time afterwards and hit his signature frog splash for the win.

Moose Hijacks Impact

Moose came out and attacked TJP after the bell. Moose then said he was hijacking Impact until he got Scott D’Amore in the ring with him.

Chris Sabin made his return after Moose’s attack from a few weeks ago. Sabin sent Moose reeling to the back with a top rope dropkick. He also offered to have a match with Moose, but he seemingly refused.

After a commercial break, Sabin challenged Moose to a match at Slammiversary.

******

Josh Alexander defeated Madman Fulton (w/ Ace Austin)

Fulton manhandled Alexander early on, tossing him around like it was no feat. Alexander would try to dodge and pick his spots but didn’t have any success doing so. Fulton would continue manhandling him into a commercial break.

The broadcast returned to show Fulton hammering the X-Division Champion with hammer fists, continuing his dominance. Austin got involved a few times too when the referee’s back was turned.

Alexander finally got some momentum on his side when he dropped Fulton on his head with a delayed vertical suplex. Alexander ended up planting Fulton with a hook piledriver for the win.

After the match, Austin jumped Alexander. Petey Williams sprinted out to the ring and was going to hit a Canadian Destroyer, but Rohit Raju came and stopped him. Trey Miguel made an appearance as well.

Mahabali Shera made his return and cleared the ring of everyone but Raju and Austin. Shera stood tall with Raju, Austin and Fulton.

******

Deonna Purrazzo chewed out Susan and Kimber Lee backstage. Susan yelled at Purrazzo and claimed she wouldn’t be Knockouts Champion without them. Purrazzo walked off, signaling a break-up between the three.

W. Morrissey was interviewed backstage. Morrissey cut a promo basically saying he doesn’t need friends, and that everyone in Impact is under a “spell”. A spell that tricks them into thinking friends can get them to the top of the card.

********

Steve Maclin defeated Jason Page

Maclin’s entrance is cool. He came to the ring wearing a trench coat and with a sweet theme song. This is his official Impact debut.

This match was exactly what you would expect it to be.  Maclin mowed over Page with a vicious shotgun elbow within the first few seconds.

Page got a very small amount of offense in, but he never had a chance. Maclin had some really good offensive moments, and eventually won with a Falcon Arrow.

********

Jordynne Grace and Rachael Ellering continued their heated drama backstage. Ellering tried to make amends with Grace, but she wasn’t having any of it.

Don Callis was interviewed backstage. Callis compared his relationship with D’Amore to siblings, and siblings fight sometimes.  Callis claimed D’Amore is too nice and said he caters to the talent too much. He also claimed he wasn’t afraid of the Anthem rep coming to Impact tonight.

********

Tenille Dashwood (w/ Kaleb) defeated Rachael Ellering

Grace was not out at ringside for Ellering’s match.

This was a very standard match. Ellering worked on Dashwood’s arm for the first half of the match. Commentary wasn’t even interested, they were talking about the Sami Callihan situation.

Anytime Dashwood tried to get back in the match, Ellering would find a way to halt her momentum. The contest swung in Dashwood’s favor after Kaleb distracted Ellering.

Both women spent some time out of the ring, which resulted in Ellering being thrown into the steel guardrails after another Kaleb distraction.

After both competitors found their way back in the ring, the match picked up. Dashwood slapped Ellering which sent her into a rage and caused a distraction, allowing a Dashwood roll up pin for the victory.

********

TJP and Fallah Bahh were seen knocking on Scott D’Amore’s door backstage. Decay approached them and Bahh challenged them to a tag team match. Decay seemingly accepted.

Fire N’ Flava are shown backstage. They harassed a few janitors asking them who the best Impact Knockouts Tag Team in history is, before Rosemary and Jessica Havok attacked them and threw them in the dumpster. Tasha Steelz pulled a trash bag out of the Dumpster with the name “Mickie” taped on the side.

*********

Kojima (w/ Eddie Edwards) defeated Rhino (w/ Violent By Design)

If Kojima wins, he will earn himself and Eddie Edwards a Impact Tag Team Championship match.

Kojima and Rhino meshed together well early on, trading forearms and irish whips. Kojima always lays his stuff in and he’s a joy to watch.

The match had a slow, manipulative pace. Rhino kept Kojima down and out of everything for the middle portion of the match, before Kojima hit a lariat followed by a cutter. Edwards rallied Kojima at ringside which gave him momentum to hit Rhino with the Cozy Lariat for the three count and the win.

*********

Sami Callihan speaks

Callihan was surrounded by five security guards when Scott D’Amore came to the ring. D’Amore told Callihan to calm down and that he would resolve the issues that are present.

The Arena went dark and Callihan disappeared. Don Callis came out and ran down Callihan some more, and told D’Amore to man up. D’Amore accused Callis of firing Callihan for Kenny Omega.

Tommy Dreamer came to the ring and claimed he is the person Anthem Sports sent. Dreamer reinstated Sami Callihan first off, and then fired Don Callis from his VP role. Callis was enraged and called Dreamer a “Bruce Pritchard stooge” before walking off the set to end the show.

Callihan Slammiversary decision, Kojima vs. Rhino set for Impact

The future of Sami Callihan as relates to July’s Impact Slammiversary pay-per-view will be decided this Thursday on Impact.

Callihan was fired in storyline at last Saturday’s Against All Odds after attacking World Champion Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks following Omega’s title defense over Moose. Don Callis, still a VP in storyline, came out and fired Callihan who was to receive a title shot at Slammiversary.

In a preview clip, Scott D’Amore and Callis have a confrontation regarding the firing. Callis is no longer a VP in real life so this looks to be leading to an angle to write him off out of the role on TV.

The clip also showed the aforementioned Moose and Chris Sabin getting into a physical confrontation.

Impact also announced that Satoshi Kojima will face Violent by Design’s Rhino with a future Tag Team title shot on the line for Kojima and Eddie Edwards if Kojima can pull off a victory.

The Young Bucks appear at Impact Against All Odds

The Young Bucks appeared at the end of tonight’s Impact Against All Odds event, helping Kenny Omega retain the Impact World title.

The Bucks appeared at the end of the Impact World title match, which was held at the Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida. After a ref bump, the Bucks appeared and superkicked Moose, then laid him out with the BTE trigger. They then helped Omega lift up Moose so Omega could pin him with the One Winged Angel to retain the title.

After the match, the lights went out and Sami Callihan, who is set to challenge Omega at Slammiversary next month, appeared and attacked the Bucks with a bat. He then went to Omega and prepared to attack his eye with the bat. Don Callis, who was doing commentary with Tony Schiavone and Scott D’Amore, was angry and ended up firing him, as in storyline he is still an Impact executive vice president. The show closed with D’Amore and Callis leaving, clearly not on the same page.

The idea to move to the Daily’s Place was made on this week’s Impact, with the idea being that The Good Brothers couldn’t interfere in the match. The Good Brothers instead wrestled in Nashville, Tennessee, where the rest of tonight’s card was held. They lost to the team of Tommy Dreamer and Sami Callihan in the opener.

Sami Callihan to get World title shot at Impact Slammiversary

Image: Impact Wrestling

While Sami Callihan won’t be getting his Impact World title shot this Saturday at Against All Odds, the former champion won’t have to wait too long.

On Thursday’s Impact Wrestling, it was announced that as a compromise to the situation regarding Kenny Omega, Moose and Callihan, Omega will defend the Impact World title against Moose as planned, albeit in a new location.

However, Scott D’Amore said that Callihan will get his title shot opportunity at July 17th’s Slammiversary pay-per-view in Nashville, TN.

D’Amore thought Callihan had a claim to be included in Saturday’s match after he defeated Moose by DQ last week. However, Don Callis didn’t like the idea of him being added and thought Tony Khan wouldn’t either. D’Amore called Khan and set up a summit that opened Thursday’s show where they worked out the details.

Callihan will team with Tommy Dreamer to face The Good Brothers Saturday instead.

The 33-year-old has held the title once, winning it in October 2019 from then-champion Brian Cage. He lost the title a few months later to Tessa Blanchard at January 2020’s Turning Point.

Impact Wrestling live results: FinJuice vs. XXXL

Preview by Josh Nason

Tuesday’s Impact Wrestling is expected to follow up on several title changes from Saturday’s Sacrifice show, headlined by Rich Swann defeating Moose to unify the Impact and TNA World titles.

On Saturday, FinJuice (David Finlay and Juice Robinson) defeated the Good Brothers to win the Tag Team Titles and will be in non-title action against XXXL (Larry D and Acey Romero).

Tuesday’s show will feature a 12-woman tag team match as Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo, Knockouts Tag Team Champions Fire ‘N Flava (Kiera Hogan and Tasha Steelz), Kimber Lee, Susan and Tenille Dashwood will face Jordynne Grace, Jazz, OBD, Havok, Nevaeh and Alisha.

Additionally, Sami Callihan vs. Trey Miguel and Rohit Raju vs. Shera is also scheduled for Tuesday. Black Taurus vs. Luster The Legend will be the featured match on the BTI pre-show.

While Swann and new X-Division Champion Ace Austin weren’t announced as appearing as of yet, it’s expected they will be on Tuesday’s show in some form.

Our live coverage starts at 8 PM Eastern.

Opening video was a recap of Sacrifice, including FinJuice winning the Impact tag team championships, and Rich Swann defeating Moose to win the TNA World Championship and unify it with his Impact World Championship.

Impact Tag Team Champions FinJuice (David Finlay & Juice Robinson) defeated XXXL (Acey Romero & Larry D) in a non-title match

They’ve added little camera shakes for XXXL’s entrance for each step they take, it’s a nice little touch.

Match saw FinJuice dominate early on, hitting a couple of double team moves on D, but then Romero tagged in, the size difference was a bit too much for Robinson, who took some offense by Romero. Robinson quickly escaped Romero and tagged Finlay in. Finish saw FinJuice hit a double flapjack on D and acid drop by Finlay for the win. Technically a squash with a short hope spot for XXXL.

After the match, Anderson and Gallows came out to confront FinJuice. Anderson asked them if they were happy to have won against a team that wasn’t on their 100%, they’ve been jumping between Dynamite and Impact, hungover, and jetlagged. Gallows challenged them for a rematch, which Robinson quickly accepted. FinJuice said that they would have to wait for April when they’re done with the New Japan Cup tour.

Anderson and Gallows, annoyed that they would have to wait, attacked FinJuice, but Finlay and Robinson dodged them and left them hanging.

– D’lo Brown & Matt Striker ran down tonight’s card.

– We got a promo by Sami Callihan talking about how Trey Miguel is a phony and how he lacks passion, which Miguel pretends to have. He said that tonight, he’d embarrass Miguel and make an example out of him. The production effects of these makes them funnier and not aggressive as they should.

– Anderson and Gallows went to D’Amore to complain about their title situation. D’Amore said that FinJuice will defend their titles against them at Rebellion on April 24. D’Amore said that FinJuice would be defending the titles in Japan, which I highly doubt.

– Tommy Dreamer came up to D’Amore too and brought up that they don’t have tag titles now and this is a mess. D’Amore said that it was a good price to have a working relationship with a promotion that used to hate them. D’Amore said that this wasn’t easy, so if Dreamer thought he could do better, then he should book the next Impact+ special — Hardcore Justice. Dreamer gave D’Amore some ideas.

Rhino (with VBD) defeated Jake Something (with James Storm & Chris Sabin)

Rhino turned heel at Sacrifice, turning on James Storm, Chris Sabin, and Jake Something, after he ran down and aided Doering and Deaner to defeat Sabin after hitting him with a Gore. Rhino had been feuding with EY and Doering prior to being taken out, along with his friend Heath.

This was more of an angle. They did about 3 minutes of wrestling before Beer Guns and VBD started brawling outside, distracting Something and allowing Rhino to gore him for the pin.

After the match, the brawl continued, Rhino gored everyone, and Violent By Design ended standing tall over their opponents.

This feels like it’s going to end in a big 8-man weapons match, potentially at Hardcore Justice.

– Backstage, Tenille Dashwood wanted to get her team for tonight to be called ‘Tenille and her followers”. Purrazzo instead wanted to offer the team guidance, but was interrupted by Hogan and Steelz, who are tag team specialists and it was them who had advice. Purrazzo then calmed things and said that they’re all the best and instead of going back and forward, they need to do their thing and win like they always do.

Rohit Raju defeated Mahabali Shera

A couple of weeks ago, Raju brought Shera back to the promotion as a backup against TJP. After failing to win the X Division title and a tag team match against Storm and Sabin, Raju berated Shera to the point that Shera had enough and fired back.

This was playing out to be another squash, but the match actually went back and forward, as Raju kept getting offense on Shera. This was a speed vs power match, with Raju being able to dodge and attack Shera, while Shera would capture Raju and drop him with power moves. At the end, Raju got a roll up on Shera with his feet on the ropes and got the upset win.

Seems like this will go on for some time. Shera hasn’t fully turned babyface, so it will be interesting to see if they keep him as a monster, or if the Shera Shake comes back.

– Willie Mack congratulated Rich Swann for defeating Moose. Swann said that it wasn’t time to party, he had business in the ring.

– Rich Swann walked out to the ring. Swann said that he may not like Moose, but respected that at Sacrifice, he and Moose went all out and showed what Impact is about, but now, Swann is a double champion. Swann addressed Kenny Omega, he had been dragging a pin loss to Omega since January, and now he had his chance to get it back and he would show who the real best wrestler in the world is.

Don Callis came out and congratulated Swann. He hugged Swann and told him he was proud of him. Callis said he was a big fan of Swann and that it was him that fought to sign Swann to Impact, it was Callis that made sure that Swann kept getting paid while he was injured and he checked on him weekly. Callis got him in the Bound For Glory 2020 main event, and none of this was denied by Swann.

Callis said that Swann was his shiny toy, but Kenny Omega was his new, shinier toy. Callis started getting in Swann’s head, talking about how Swann likely has been celebrating for a month now thinking of the One Winged Angel in the back of his head. He kept telling Swann that he was a once in a decade wrestler, but Omega was one in a millenia. Callis had been around for every big Omega moment and at Rebellion, he would be there, along with Swann, as they both witnessed history, when Omega hits the One Winged Angel.

Don Callis is FANTASTIC! This was a great segment.

– We got our weekly  AEW commercial with Tony Khan and Tony Schiavone. They ran down the card for St. Patrick’s Day Slam episode of Dynamite. Tony Schiavone will interview STING.

– Backstage, Eddie Edwards thanked Matt Cardona for having his back this last month. Myers walked up and talked with Cardona, who told him to stop antagonizing him and Edwards. Myers told him that he didn’t want Cardona on Impact because this was his promotion and wanted to do it by himself.

Jordynne Grace, Jazz, Alisha, Havok, Nevaeh, & ODB defeated Impact Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo, Impact Knockout Tag Team Champions Fire ‘n Flava (Kiera Hogan & Tasha Steelz), Susan, Kimber Lee, & Tenille Dashwood (with Kaleb with a K)

Alisha aside, all these women have crossed paths in the last months. At Sacrifice, we saw the heel side dominate all of their matches against their babyface counterparts, and so D’Amore booked this match. There are no stipulations to this match, but with both Knockouts championships on one side, we should be getting some progression.

Match started with a couple of pair ups with the babyface team maintaining control over their opponents. Dashwood vs Alisha, ODB vs Susan, Nevaeh vs Lee, Havok vs Hogan, and Jazz vs Purrazzo. At this point, every woman started taking turns to come and hit a move, ending with a big brawl outside the ring, perfectly set up for a double dive from Grace and Steelz.

Back from commercial, the referee had regained control and everyone was back in the ring, but once again, after a few spots with Grace and Lee, everyone started to take turns again to take out the previous one, ending with Jazz submitting Kimber Lee with the STF. This was 100% an exhibition match, nothing really happened, but everyone got something in.

Hard to say where this could go, but with Jazz getting the win, she could be getting a shot at Purrazzo.

– Gia Miller interviewed the new X Division champion,  Ace Austin. He said that things were back to normal now that he had regained the title, and that defeating TJP was inevitable.  Chris Bey and Josh Alexander interrupted Austin because both of them had beaten Austin. TJP then walked up and was told to go the back of the line, but TJP said he was getting his rematch next week, so he didn’t need to wait in line like the rest.

– Brown and Striker ran down next week’s card, including TJP vs Ace Austin rematch, Deonna Purrazzo vs Jazz in a non-title match, and Karl Anderson vs Eddie Edwards.

Sami Callihan defeated Trey Miguel

Ever since Miguel returned to Impact, Callihan has been stalking and teasing him about not having passion, about constantly quitting when things get hard, and about how he lacked the killer instinct. Last week, Callihan even used one of Miguel’s trainees to come after Miguel.

Match started with Miguel running wild over Callihan, in and outside the ring. He managed to dodge and counter everything that Callihan was throwing at him, but when he went for a 619 reversal, Callihan caught him, cut him off, and turned momentum around.

Callihan worked over Miguel’s ankle, which he initially injured by locking it between the metal frame in the ringpost. After tossing him from corner to corner and going for ankle locks, Callihan got overconfident and started taking his time to trash talk, but in doing so, Miguel got enough time to take a breather and counter Callihan with an enzuigiri.

Still hurting, Miguel made half a comeback, every time he jumped, he failed to stay on his feet, but he was able to take down Callihan along with him. He kept going for foot stomps for some reason.

Last couple of minutes saw both men go back and forward, trading some near falls. Miguel got close with a sharpshooter, but Callihan bit himself out of the submission, hit a powerbomb and into an STF for a big near fall. Match ended with Callihan hitting a package piledriver for the win after Miguel failed to hit the meteora.

Ok match, it was definitely too long. Miguel looked good, he sold his ankle as much as he could given that his arsenal is mostly kick based.

We’ll wait for next week to see how Miguel reacts to losing and how Callihan follows up, but we’re surely getting a rematch.

Trey Miguel returns to Impact Wrestling

Trey Miguel returned to Impact on Tuesday, scoring the pinfall for his team in the main event.

Miguel teamed with Impact World Champion Rich Swann, Willie Mack & Tommy Dreamer to take on Moose, Sami Callihan, Ken Shamrock & Chris Bey in the main event of Tuesday’s Impact. Miguel ended up pinning Callihan following a hurricanrana. The show ended with an angry Shamrock putting the referee in an ankle lock submission.

Miguel had been off television since it was announced in November that The Rascalz would be leaving Impact. In The Rascalz’s farewell match, Swann & Miguel defeated Zachary Wentz & Dezmond Xavier on the November 17 episode of Impact.

It was announced in December that Miguel’s Rascalz stablemates Wentz & Xavier had signed with WWE.

Wentz & Xavier made their NXT debut on the January 13 episode of NXT. Going under the names Nash Carter (Wentz) & Wes Lee (Xavier), the team now known as MSK defeated Jake Atlas & Isaiah “Swerve” Scott in the opening round of the men’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament.

Three more matches added to Impact Hard to Kill

Three new matches have been added for Impact’s next pay-per-view, Hard to Kill.

Sami Callihan will face Eddie Edwards in a barbed wire massacre match. Their match at the end of tonight’s Impact main event ended in a no contest when the video screen showed Edwards’ wife Alisha caged in somewhere in the backstage area. Edwards went to save her, but it was a trap as Callihan’s associate Ken Shamrock jumped Edwards as he approached the cage. Callihan then came in and attacked Edwards with a bat.

A six-man tag team match has also been set for Had to Kill. Eric Young, Cody Deaner & Joe Doering will face Tommy Dreamer, Rhino & Cousin Jake in an old school rules match (a no DQ and no countout match). Rhino & Jake faced Deaner & Doering on tonight’s show, with Deaner getting the win over Jake after a low blow. Dreamer made the save for the team after the match and issued the challenge.

Additionally, Ethan Page and Karate Man will face off against one another at Hard to Kill, despite Karate Man also being portrayed by Page. Page was in a therapy session during a segment on tonight’s Impact with Karate Man, talking about how his career has been derailed since The North lost the Impact Tag Team titles. He ended up getting into an argument with Karate Man, leading Page to challenge him for Hard to Kill.

Other matches slated for the show include Kenny Omega & The Good Brothers (Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows) vs. Rich Swann & The Motor City Machine Guns, Deonna Purrazzo vs. Taya Valkyrie for the Knockouts Championship, Manik vs. Chris Bey vs. Rohit Raju for the X-Division Championship, and Havok & Nevaeh vs. Kiera Hogan & Tasha Steelz in the Knockouts Tag Team title tournament finals.

Hard to Kill takes place on Saturday, January 16.

Sami Callihan signs new multi-year deal with Impact Wrestling

Sami Callihan has signed a new multi-year deal to remain with Impact Wrestling.

On Twitter, Callihan announced at the start of the new year that he’s signed a new two-year deal with Impact Wrestling.

“Today marks when I WOULD have been a FREE AGENT,” Callihan wrote. “I just RE-SIGNED with @IMPACTWRESTLING, 2 years for BIG money. I got other offers…but I don’t give a damn. This is MY company. I made this company. I will be champion again in 2021.”

PWInsider reported in December that Callihan was expected to remain with Impact Wrestling.

Callihan is a former Impact World Champion. He held the title from October 2019 to January 2020. At Turning Point in November, Callihan unsuccessfully challenged Rich Swann for the Impact World Championship.

Callihan will be in action on the first Impact episode of 2021. He’s facing Eddie Edwards on Tuesday’s show.

In this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported on Ethan Page’s contract status with Impact Wrestling:

Ethan Page, who is no longer with the company as he decided not to sign a new deal, which breaks up The North as a team since Josh Alexander has months left, has pulled all of his merchandise effective now. Pulling merchandise often is a prelude of going to WWE but there is nothing confirmed on that front

Impact Turning Point results: Rich Swann vs. Sami Callihan

Impact held their Turning Point event tonight on Impact Plus, featuring three title matches

The main event featured new Impact World champion Rich Swann defending the title against Sami Callihan. It also featured a rematch from Bound for Glory, where Su Yung defended the Knockouts title against Deonna Purrazzo in a no disqualification match.

Here are the results:

Eddie Edwards defeated Shawn Daivari

– Edwards defeated Daivari with the Boston Knee Party.

Taya & Rosemary defeated Jordynne Grace & Tenille Dashwood

– Grace was pinned after Dashwood ignored her attempts to tag out, instead focusing on taking selfies.

Backstage, Cody Deaner and Cousin Jake decided to go find Johnny Swinger. Deaner was angry that he had lost to Swinger last week.

Brian Myers defeated Swoggle

– Myers pinned Swoggle with a lariat. Myers continued to beat on Swoggle until Crazzy Steve made the save.

Chris Sabin and James Storm defeated Team XXXL

– Storm and Sabin won following stereo superkicks.

Backstage, the Deaners discovered a gun in Swinger’s belongings.

Rohit Raju defeated Cousin Jake to retain the X Division title.

– Raju retained the title after connecting with a shining wizard.

After the match, Eric Young came down with former Triple Crown champion Joe Doering. Both took out the Deaners.

Willie Mack defeated Moose by disqualification

– Moose continued to beat on Mack until the referee called for the DQ.

Eddie Edwards backstage wished Swann the best of luck prior to his title match later tonight.

The Good Brothers defeated The North to win the Impact Tag Team titles

– Page was pinned following The Magic Killer.

Jordynne Grace was shown trying to get into Dashwood’s locker room. Both she and Kaleb with a K mocked her. Grace left. Alicia Edwards emerged and mocked Grace, leading to both she and Dashwood forming an alliance.

Deonna Purrazzo defeated Su Yung in a No DQ match to win the Knockouts title

– Purrazzo regained the title after landing a cradle piledriver.

Rich Swann defeated Sami Callihan to retain the Impact World title

– Swann retained the World title after four spin kicks. Ken Shamrock tried to interfere, but was met by Eddie Edwards.

Impact Wrestling results: Edwards & Swann vs. Young & Callihan

Impact Wrestling returns from Nashville, TN.

Last week, Impact ended with the big cliffhanger of John E. Bravo getting shot during his wedding with Rosemary. The opening video of Impact was a fantastic recap of the last months, showcasing all the things that Bravo had done that would give reason to many of the suspects to take him out.

D’Amore opened the show telling Dreamer that  Bravo was in stable condition, but not out of the water just yet. Dreamer, dressed as Sherlock Holmes, said that he was launching an investigation. Well, if anyone had any doubts, this is going to be a complete comedy.

Deonna Purrazzo (with Kimber Lee) defeated Knockouts Champion Su Yung by DQ

Purrazzo is claiming her rematch clause after threatening to sue Impact Wrestling. Purrazzo’s argument had been that she had called out any man or woman ‘alive’ at Bound For Glory, and instead, Su Yung, who she argued is not alive, had come out and defeated her. D’Amore instead convinced her to get her rematch.

Match saw a more aggressive Yung as she went for the mandible claw and the panic switch early on, but Purrazzo, better prepared this time around, kept reversing and targeting the arm. The finish came quick. Yung locked in the mandible claw, and in order to break it, Lee tossed a chair into the ring. Yung and Purrazzo fought for the chair with the latter accidentally getting hit with it in the gut, causing a disqualification.

The match was too short for it to build a good story, but the wrestling had been good until the weak finish. This finish made it feel like this was a blip on the radar before a bigger match to come.

After the match, Yung took out Lee and Purrazzo and held out the belt.

— Josh Matthews and Madison Rayne ran down tonight’s card, they tried to sell Bravo’s injury as a shoot.

— Over at D’Amore’s office, Rhino and Heath were ready to sign the contract. Heath is still visibly hurting, but hiding it from everyone but Rhino. D’Amore suspected that something was off with Heath and told him to heal up before signing the contract. He even offered to help with rehab, but Heath tried to play it cool, acted offended, and walked out since he wouldn’t be able to prove that he was ready to go.

— After Heath and Rhino left the office. Barrister R.D. Evans walked in as demanded a new rematch for Purrazzo since the one granted had ended in a DQ. D’Amore gave Purrazzo an Anything Goes match at Turning Point for the Knockouts title. D’Amore acted like he had one-upped Evans and Purrazzo, but given that Purrazzo had Kimber Lee with her, it should be an advantage for her.

— Somewhere else backstage, Rich Swann approached Eddie Edwards about their tag team match tonight. They said they had each other’s backs.

Chris Bey defeated Trey Miguel

Both these men were part of the BFG six-person scramble for the X Division title, which unfortunately for them, lost to Rohit Raju. At this point, both of them had to restart their path to the title.

This was your quintessential X Division match, with the fast-paced reversal start. Bey had control for most of the match, working over Miguel’s neck, and using heel tactics to cut him off when Miguel would start a comeback. Eventually, Miguel did manage to gain momentum, but as he prepared the Meteora, Bey cut him off and hit a second rope flying cutter for the win.

Hard to believe that Bey will be the sole challenger for Raju, but it is likely that he will feud with TJP for the number one contendership.

— We got a new installment of Locker Room Talk with Madison Rayne and Johnny Swinger. Her special guests tonight were Tenille Dashwood and Jordynne Grace, both partnerless as the Knockouts tag team title tournament approaches.

Grace said that she was confident she’d find a partner. Rayne tried to get Dashwood and Grace to consider teaming since they both are somewhat tied in wins. Grace asked Dashwood about it, but Dashwood instead asked Madison Rayne to team up, which she accepted. Grace walked out, rejected. Everyone was great here, but I really don’t know why they’re doing this with Grace, they better have a hell of a tag partner set up for her.

— Dreamer interrogated referee Brandon Tolle since Bravo had belittled his officiating. Cody Deaner and Swinger then did some comedy about who was next to be interrogated, but they actually had a match coming.

— Rohit Raju came out for the Defeat Rohit Challenge with a great little promo. Raju should get to cut promos on every show. TJP came out, but wasn’t ring ready. TJP asked for an opportunity, but Raju turned him off. Raju said that TJP was always out there trying to steal his spotlight while he had to legit crawl and claw his way to the title.

TJP answered with a fantastic promo saying that he had put in all the work and had all the accomplishments that Raju wouldn’t even dream about. Raju said that TJP kept talking about the past, but Raju was the present.

TJP had enough and tossed his hot tea on Raju, and so they started brawling until TJP tossed Raju out of the ring. Great little angle, TJP finally came off as someone serious about chasing the title.

— Gia Miller interviewed Chris Sabin. She asked for updates on Alex Shelley. Sabin said he was doing well, but he wanted to address all these teams trying to divide and conquer over the Machine Guns. He challenged either of XXXL for a match.

— Backstage, Raju approached D’Amore to do something about TJP. D’Amore said that TJP is getting one last chance at the title, so Raju can defeat him and finally be done with him.

Doc Gallows (with Karl Anderson) defeated Ethan Page (with Josh Alexander)

Last time we saw these four men, they were brawling backstage after Page slapped Gallows right across the face. Today they faced inside the ring.

Story of the match was that Gallows dominated the ring every time that Page stepped up, and so Page kept getting more and more frustrated that they couldn’t even approach Gallows. Eventually, Alexander distracted Gallows enough so that Page could clip him from behind and finally gain control of the match. Page worked over Gallows for a couple of minutes before he started a comeback. As Gallows was about to finish off Page, Alexander got his ankle, but not even with the distraction was Page able to get the better of Gallows, who hit a big boot and won via pinfall. Ok match, but nothing special, Gallows is not the most exciting man in the ring, but Page makes up for it with his selling.

After the match, Anderson and Gallows cleared the ring and sent The North packing.

— Miller interviewed Swoggle about being back on Impact. He said that he was so glad to be back on Impact, and that he had always been seen as a joke and so he was here to turn those thoughts around. Brian Myers interrupted him and told him that he’d always be the sideshow freak of wrestling. He pushed Swoggle to the floor and walked away. Swoggle was actually pretty good in the microphone, why he hasn’t been given the chance to talk before confuses me, and this can’t be leading to a good feud. But if it were to lead to Swoggle managing someone to battle Myers, I think we have something here.

Johnny Swinger defeated Cody Deaner (with Cousin Jake)

There’s no story here other than the skit with Dreamer earlier on, as they’re both suspects in Bravo’s shooting.

The match was all comedy. Deaner kept drinking to gain power and energy, while Swinger kept using old school heel tactics to work over Deaner. Finish saw Swinger try to hit Deaner with a chair, but Cousin Jake stopped him. In the distraction, Swinger used his gimmick fanny pack to attack Deaner for the pin. Nothing match, but I won’t complain about a three-minute match.

— Moose came out to the ring looking dapper. He said in the last few months, he hasn’t been taken seriously, nor has the TNA World Championship. He said that at Bound For Glory, he went to hell and back to reclaim the title and took out one of the best champions in the company’s history. He ran down the names he has defeated all year (mostly older wrestlers), but said that no one talks about Moose, and instead, they talk about Rich Swann.

Moose played the footage of last week’s attack on Willie Mack and told Swann to ask Mack what pain feels like and that he has been warned. Mack came down and attacked Moose, but was taken out instead and beaten down and choked out with the camera cable.

Moose was fantastic, he seems ready to get that big title win.

— Over in Swann’s locker room, Chris Bey congratulated him. He told Swann that he should be the next challenger. Swann told him that Bey needed more than just to ask for a title shot, he needed to earn it. Before Bey could make a claim, Edwards came in as the two headed out for their upcoming match. Chris Bey chasing the world championship? Count me in!

— Dreamer said that he had narrowed down his suspects to 10 people. Swinger, Havok, Brandon Tolle, Cody Deaner, Hernandez, Fallah Bahh, Larry D, James Mitchell, Rosemary, and Taya. This was all comedy and not the good kind.

— Matthews and Rayne ran down next week’s card, including Raju vs. TJP for the X Division title, Chris Sabin vs. Acey Romero, and Rayne/Dashwood vs. Havok/Nevaeh. Also, 11 days away, we get Turning Point on Impact+, where Su Yung defends against Deonna Purrazzo in an Anything Goes match and Moose vs. Willie Mack.

Eric Young & Sami Callihan defeated Impact World Champion Rich Swann & Eddie Edwards

There is a big mix of rivalries between these four men. Last week, we saw Swann retain against Eric Young, but also get threatened by Callihan’s intentions to come after him. Likewise, Edwards has been dealing with Callihan, Shamrock, and Young in the last months.

Match was the basic tag match with Edwards being the babyface in peril, Swann having the hot tag and running wild, and the final minutes with all four men running in for spots. Towards the end, both Callihan and Young go for their signature piledrivers, but Swann and Edwards both reversed at the same time into a sharpshooter and single-leg crab respectively, leading to Young and Callihan having to stop each other from tapping out.

The finish saw Edwards lock in Callihan in a half Boston crab. Ken Shamrock came down, took out Swann, and distracted Edwards enough for Callihan to get him from behind and hit the cactus special for the win.

Commentary early on tried to sell us that Young and Callihan were too big of an ego to work together, but they ended up working perfectly as a team, even fist-bumping as the show went off the air.

Final thoughts —

Good, fun show. We had some really good promos this week, which may or may not lead to feuds beyond Turning Point that is only a week and a half away. A lot of programs still feel up in the air.

Impact Wrestling results: Sami Callihan vs. Josh Alexander

Susie & Kylie Rae defeated Rosemary & Taya Valkyrie (with John E. Bravo)

Rosemary and Susie started the match. Rosemary tried hard to bring Su Yung out, but Susie got the better of Rosemary, flipped her with a monkey flip and tried some crucifix pins for three early pin attempts.

Kylie Rae tagged in and tried to hit a double team move with Susie, but the teamwork was not there yet. Taya tagged in and talked some trash to Rae  Taya with a headlock, tried to transition into the STTF, but Taya made the ropes.

Susie tagged in, and together she and Kylie Rae managed to hit a double bulldog for a two count. Bravo distracted the referee, which allowed Rosemary to cheap shot Susie and set her up for Taya to take her down.

Rosemary locked in the upside-down on Susie, followed by a running knee by Taya for another two count. Susie countered Taya and collided with her, getting an opening to tag out.

Rae came in and dodged Rosemary’s attacks, hit a rana and a corner cannonball for a two count. Kyle tried to go for the STTF, but Rosemary kicked her off. Rae hit a wheelbarrow into a cutter and a superkick, sending Rosemary to tag out.

Taya came in and hit a spear on Rae for a two count. Taya got a second one with a northern lights, but Rae came back with a superkick for a two count when Rosemary broke it up.

Rosemary went for the red wedding, but Susie saved her and took her out with a palm strike. Taya sent Susie to the floor.

At this point, Bravo distracted Taya, telling her that Rosemary was hurt. That allowed Kylie Rae to lock in the STTF on Taya for the submission win.

Josh Matthews and Madison Rayne ran down the card for tonight, and also gave an update on some of the Slammiversary XVIII matches.

Backstage, Chris Bey told Johnny Swinger that he messed up and now he can’t be out there with him at Slammiversary. Swinger, however, said that he had a plan.

The Deaners (Cody Deaner & Cousin Jake) defeated Fallah Bahh & TJP, Reno Scum (Adam Thornstowe & Luster The Legend), and XXXL (Acey Romero & Larry D)

At the bell, everyone started to brawl. Eventually, it was just XXXL and Cody Deaner in the ring, with XXXL taking out Cody with a double splash. Reno Scum pulled XXXL out of the ring, but Cousin Jake was ready to fly over the top rope on all of them.

Back from commercial, the referee has managed to set order and properly start the match. Reno Scum had managed to cut off Cody Deaner and work over him. Bahh and TJP kept trying to brawl with Reno Scum, but the referee kept them out. Furthermore, Reno Scum managed to avoid letting the other teams to tag in until Cody managed to hit a jawbreaker on Luster, sending him into XXXL’s corner.

Acey Romero came in and worked some more over Cody Deaner, but he managed to take him down with a tornado DDT. At this point, Cousin Jake jumped the rope and took out Larry D and Acey, triggering everyone to come in and take someone out sequentially, leaving just Cody and Romero.

Reno Scum jumped in the ring and took everyone out, but Bahh and TJP recovered and pulled them out of the ring and brawled up the ramp and into the locker room area.

Back in the ring, Larry D and Cousin Jake tagged in. They collided with some shoulder tackles, but then Larry D took out Jake with a clothesline and a spinebuster for a two count. Cody went for the Deaner DDT, but Larry blocked it, sending him into Acey’s pounce. Jake took out Acey, but Larry was there to take him down with a curb stomp. Jake recovered and hit a sidewalk slam for the win. Seems like The Deaners may be getting a push soon.

After the match, the camera followed Reno Scum, Bahh, and TJP as they brawled through the back.

Johnny Swinger looked inside people’s bags, trying to find a disguise to use on Slammiversary. He skipped on Super Eric, but stole Suicide’s suit instead.

Impact Plus Flashback Moment of the Week was Tara & Angelina Love vs Velvet Sky & Madison Rayne from Lockdown 2010.

Ken Shamrock looked for Sami Callihan backstage. Shamrock told Sami that they have a chance to end The North’s title reign and that he has Callihan’s back tonight versus Josh Alexander.

Knockout’s Champion Jordynne Grace defeated Kimber Lee in a non-title match.

Lee tried to start the match with a test of strength, giving Jordynne the easy advantage to start. Lee kept kicking out of Grace’s pin attempts. Grace went for an early Grace Driver, but Lee made the ropes and bit Grace’s hand to get her off.

Jordynne kept control and whipped Lee from corner to corner and into a big spinebuster for a two count.

Kimber Lee managed to block Grace and kick her down, kick her into the ropes, and a third kick to the back before going for the leg scissors submission attempt.

Jordynne came back with a suplex, a couple scoop slams, and a michinoku driver for a two count. Jordynne went for the grace driver, but Lee blocked, hit a spinning heel kick and an enzuigiri, followed with a swanton bomb, but Grace kicked out at two.

Kimber Lee grabbed some brass knuckles, but Jordynne blocked her, hit the Grace Driver, and picked up the win. Dominant victory for Jordynne Grace, but Lee looked good too.

After the match, Purrazzo appeared on the screen telling her that Grace won’t get her hands on her until Slammiversary.

We got a video about the Impact World title being vacated, setting up the fatal four way match booked for Slammiversary. The package highlighted Eddie’s history in Impact, Ace’s quick rise in the industry, and Trey Miguel being the underdog. Pretty good promos by all three men, Trey especially.

Willie Mack found Swinger dressed as Suicide and either didn’t realize it, or pretended he didn’t know it was Swinger, but he did say they had a match coming up since Suicide had helped him wrestle Swinger and Bey last week.

We got another installment of Locker Room Talk with Madison Rayne, with a special guest — herself. Rayne announced that at Slammiversary, she will be in the Knockout’s No. 1 contendership match and will once again become a champion.

Tasha Steelz and Kiera Hogan interrupted her and made fun of her for talking to herself. Havok and Nevaeh came in and talked trash to everyone. The women brawled as Rayne hid in the corner of the couch. Rayne was really funny.

Hernandez is still beating people at arm wrestling, but Rhino is the next to challenge. To be continued…

X-Division Champion Willie Mack defeated Johnny Swinger to retain the title

Swinger, dressed as Suicide, started with some offense when he cheap shotted Mack. But as soon as he tried to do Suicide’s rope swerve, he failed. He ended up falling to the floor, giving Mack an opening to get some offense.

Swinger raked the eyes, but couldn’t do the swinging neckbreaker because it would reveal his identity, so instead he went for the top rope, fell on his face. Mack followed with the stunner for the win. Perfect for what it was. Swinger has great comedic timing.

Gia Miler interviewed Tommy Dreamer about his apology to Moose. He apologized to Moose with a number of backhanded comments, even revealing that Moose is a flat earther. Moose interrupted him, but Dreamer told Moose that he was the new #1 contender for the TNA World title. Moose told him that there was no TNA committee and that Dreamer was stupid. Match is official.

Matthews and Rayne ran down the updated card for Slammiversary XVIII.

Sami Callihan defeated Josh Alexander (with Ethan Page)

Collar and elbow to start the match, with Sami gaining the early advantage. He struck down Josh, sending him to the floor. Callihan hit a jumping knee while Alexander tried to enter the ring, sending him back to the floor.

Callihan and Alexander brawled for a bit outside the ring, where Page distracted Sami, giving Alexander a small opening to get some offense in before Callihan recovered and whipped Josh into the guardrails.

Back in the ring, Josh regained control, but the match spilled out of the ring again. Sami hit a DVD on Josh. Callihan and Page started shouting at each other, once again giving Josh the time to recover and suplex Callihan into the apron for the countout tease.

Alexander was now in complete control. He focused on Callihan’s limbs, stomping and twisting one at a time, going for quick pin attempts here and there. Alexander started punching Callihan, who fired up and made a comeback, catching Josh with some lariats.

Callihan went for a sunset flip, but Josh rolled over. Callihan reversed a suplex into a brainbuster for a two count. Callihan went for the ten punches, but Alexander dodged, hit a tornado toss, locked in the ankle lock, but Callihan made the ropes after the struggle.

Callihan raked Alexander’s eyes and hit a piledriver on the apron, but Josh kicked out at two. Page went for Callihan off the top rope, but Sami moved and the referee was taken out instead. Page went to piledrive Callihan, but Shamrock came down for the save and locked in the ankle lock on Page, giving Callihan the opening to hit the cactus special on Josh for the win. Ok match.

Callihan walked out on Shamrock after the match.

We got the tease that whatever world champion is returning at Slammiversary. The news reporter said that not only would he be in attendance, but he won’t be alone.

Final thoughts —

Good show overall, it had some good wrestling, but it was mostly a driver to heat up some of the Slammiversary card.

The North vs. Shamrock/Callihan Tag title match set for Slammiversary

Impact Wrestling’s Slammiversary continued to take shape as it was announced The North will defend their tag team titles against Ken Shamrock and Sami Callihan at the July 18th pay-per-view.

The match was made on Tuesday’s show after Ethan Page and Josh Alexander came out for a promo where they continued to verbally run down the former UFC star and how he could never get a partner as he has no friends. Last week, the two jumped Shamrock as he was set to have a match with Alexander.

Shamrock came out to confront them and a Callihan video played with him asking, “Who needs friends when you have an enemy?” The former Impact World Champion then appeared in the ring and the the two laid out the tag champions. He then said, “Thumbs up/thumbs down” to Shamrock and disappeared.

Afterward, Page and Alexander were backstage complaining to Scott D’Amore and he made the match for Slammiversary which they weren’t happy with.

Thus far, the Slammiversary card is as follows:

  • Vacant Impact World Championship: Eddie Edwards vs. Trey Miguel vs. Ace Austin vs. TBA
