New Impact Knockouts tag champs crowned at Slammiversary

New Impact Knockouts Tag Team Champions were crowned prior to the start of the Slammiversary pay-per-view event.

The Decay (Havok and Rosemary) defeated Fire ‘n’ Flava (Tasha Steelz and Kiera Hogan) to win the titles for the first time. The finish had Hogan going for a sleeper on Havoc, but Havoc countered with a tombstone piledriver, pinning Hogan to pick up the win.

Fire N Flava held the titles for a couple of months, defeating Jordynne Grace and Rachael Ellering at Under Siege, which aired on May 15. Fire ‘n’ Flava have already held the Knockouts Tag Team titles twice since the titles were reintroduced in the company in January.

Other titles set to be defended on tonight’s show includes Impact World Champion Kenny Omega defending his title against Sami Callihan in a No DQ match, Tag Team Champions Doering and Deaner defending against The Good Brothers, Deonna Purrazzo vs. a mystery opponent for the Knockouts title, and an Ultimate X match featuring champion Josh Alexander, Chris Bey, Trey Miguel, Ace Austin, Petey William, and Rohit Raju.

Impact’s Sami Callihan, Havok announce engagement

Impact Wrestling talents Sami Callihan and Havok are engaged to be married.

Havok (real name Jessica Cricks) revealed the news on her Instagram Sunday, saying Callihan (real name Sam Johnston) surprised her by proposing after she had ended a live stream from the Mothman statue at the Mothman Museum in Point Pleasant, West Virginia.

“I almost couldn’t believe it. I am so overwhelmed with happiness. I didn’t know how to react, so i started crying. Lol tears of joy. I don’t know what to say. P.s. I said yes,” she wrote.

Sunday was also her 35th birthday. The two are both Ohio natives and are well-traveled in their pro wrestling careers. Havok rejoined Impact in 2019 while Callihan has been with the company since 2017.

Next up for Callihan is an Impact World title shot against Kenny Omega at July’s Slammiversary pay-per-view while Havok is between storylines.

Kimber Lee makes Impact Wrestling debut

A new addition to the Knockouts division emerged on this week’s episode of Impact.

Kimber Lee made her Impact debut in a segment that aired on this week’s show. It set up that Lee will make her Impact in-ring debut against Jessicka Havok next Tuesday.

Havok was the guest on Madison Rayne’s Locker Room Talk segment on this week’s episode of Impact. Rayne asked Havok about losing to Rosemary in their Full Metal Mayhem match at Rebellion and Nevaeh appearing in the arena and watching the match. Havok said Nevaeh is an old friend, but she doesn’t know why she’s here.

Rayne revealed that she had a surprise for Havok and said Nevaeh wasn’t Havok’s only old friend in Impact. She then introduced Lee as her next guest. Lee said she might be new around here, but Havok knows exactly who she is. Lee called herself the crown jewel and said she’s ready to rise to the top. Havok responded by saying she knows who Lee is, but Lee knows exactly who Havok is too.

Lee tweeted after her debut aired: “THATS RIGHT IM HERE!! AND ITS ABOUT DAMN TIME THE CROWN JEWEL SHOWED UP #CrownJewel #IMPACTonAXSTV”

An independent wrestling standout, Lee reported to the WWE Performance Center in January 2017 and used the name Abbey Laith in NXT prior to being released in 2018. She was one of the entrants in the inaugural Mae Young Classic.

Impact’s tournament to decide a new number one contender to Tessa Blanchard’s Impact World Championship will kick off with two first round matches next week: Rohit Raju vs. Trey Miguel and Hernandez vs. Madman Fulton. Moose will also defend his TNA World Heavyweight title belt against Suicide.

Four matches added to Impact TV tapings in Mexico City

Impact Wrestling has added four matches to their television tapings in Mexico City, Mexico.

Impact is taping TV at Fronton Mexico tomorrow and Friday. Michael Elgin vs. Rhino, Impact Tag Team Champions The North (Josh Alexander & Ethan Page) vs. LAX (Santana & Ortiz), and Rich Swann & Willie Mack vs The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier & Zachary Wentz) are set for Thursday’s tapings.

Jessicka Havok vs. Su Yung has been confirmed for Friday.

As was previously announced, Tenille Dashwood vs. Kiera Hogan and RVD vs. Madman Fulton are set for Thursday. Dr. Wagner Jr. will be appearing on Friday.

Elgin and Rhino’s feud began when Elgin was Gored at Slammiversary XVII. Elgin lost to Impact World Champion Brian Cage at the pay-per-view, then hit Cage with the title belt after the match and went to attack Don Callis. A masked man then appeared and gave Elgin a Gore.

Impact didn’t specify if The North vs. LAX is a title match. The North won the titles from LAX at Bash at the Brewery last month.

At Slammiversary, The North retained against LAX and The Rascalz in a triple threat match. There was an injury angle with Santana during the match. In his place, Daga teamed with Ortiz as they unsuccessfully challenged for The North’s titles on the Impact episode that aired last week.

LAX’s contracts with Impact are set to expire this summer.
