MLW Fusion results: LA Park vs. Pentagon Jr.

– We opened backstage with Salina de la Renta and Low Ki. De la Renta was on the phone talking about expanding Promociones Dorado’s offices to Rio and San Diego, but Low Ki was more interested in his upcoming fight with Daga.

Low Ki tried to get de la Renta to focus on the job at hand. But for the second week in a row, she blew him off and told him to focus on the matches — and she will focus on the business. Trouble brewing in Promociones Dorado.

– Rich Bocchini and Jim Cornette welcomed us to a special Cinco de Mayo edition of MLW Fusion, with the episode presented by Salina de la Renta. Bocchini read out a self-scripted introduction for de la Renta as Cornette couldn’t believe his ears.

De la Renta told us after tonight she will have shown why she should have been in charge since day one.

Low Ki defeated Daga (10:40)

The main story of the match was  that even though Low Ki beatdown Daga throughout, he couldn’t put him away cleanly. Once Daga began his comeback and was looking dangerous, Ki had to cheat in order to come away with the victory.

As Low Ki made his entrance — notably without de la Renta — we cut to Sami Callihan as he was trying to break into the arena. He had been locked out and banned by de la Renta, but that wasn’t stopping him as he was using a knife to try and break into the building.

As Daga was entering, he and Low Ki met each other on the ramp and the fight was on. We were told this was the scene of the crime where Low Ki tried to rip off Daga’s ear the last time they were in New York City.

Daga hit an early suicide dive and got a two count after a dropkick to the back of the neck. His early advantage was thwarted when Ki reversed a suplex and dropped Daga gut-first on the top rope. They went back outside for some more ringside brawling before Ki tried to wear him down with a rear chinlock.

Ki attacked with chops, thrusts, and stiff kicks, but Daga kept kicking out and momentarily fighting back. He reversed a whip to the corner to alleviate a bit of pressure, but Ki sprung out of the corner with a dropkick right to the face. Daga hip tossed Ki out of an abdominal stretch, but a headbutt soon floored him again.

Two dragon screws changed the swing of the match and they both began exchanging chops and forearms as Daga’s momentum was gaining. He hit a hard clothesline and went up top but missed a drop foot stomp. Ki followed up with a quick running dropkick into the corner.

They both then went up to the top rope, with Daga getting caught up in the tree of woe. Ki was looking for a double foot stomp, but Daga yanked him off the top rope by the trunks. Daga then hit a huge missile dropkick that knocked Low Ki so hard that he bounced back up to his feet.

Daga charged him in the corner, but Low Ki was able to switch into a fisherman suplex and — unbeknownst to referee Doug Markham — get his feet up on the ropes for extra leverage and the win.

– Backstage, de la Renta announced the semifinal brackets for the National Openweight Championship tournament: Gringo Loco vs. Alexander Hammerstone and Brian Pillman Jr. vs. Rich Swann.

– We were told that Tom Lawlor’s next opponent for his MLW World title will be Avalanche Robert Driessker. We cut to Lawlor, who said that you take on all comers when you are the MLW World Heavyweight Champion. It doesn’t matter the size of the opponent or where they are from.

We then had a quick music video of Lawlor wrestling and training with fellow Team Filthy member Ariel Dominguez.

– We cut back to Callihan, who had broken into the building. He met Ricky Martinez in a hallway, jumped him, and stole his phone.

El Hijo de LA Park (presented by Salina de la Renta) defeated Gringo Loco (5:52)

A quick but fanatic lucha spotfest took place next as Hijo was able to counter a powerbomb into his Hijo Driver to pick up the win.

They did an opening with rolls, arm drags, and cartwheels, getting a “lucha libre” chant from the New York crowd. Hijo launched himself over the top rope and landed on Loco on the outside, hitting a hurricanrana before jumping back into the ring to follow up with a suicide dive for good measure.

Back inside, they went to the top rope. Hijo went for a Spanish Fly, but Loco grabbed him and hit a big sit-out slam for a close two count. They went back and fourth before Hijo hit a sunset flip slam for a close two count of his own.

Hijo went to the top again, but Loco crotched him on the top rope. Loco went up to join him and hit a massive falcon arrow for another close two count. Loco popped right up after the pin, but Hijo reversed a powerbomb attempt into his Hijo Driver (a reverse tombstone with Loco on his back) to pick up the win.

– We had a Contra Unit video package where they called out Barrington Hughes after he got involved in their beatdown of Ace Romero recently.

– The backstage cameras then caught up with Callihan on his crusade. He used Martinez’s phone to call de la Renta and warn her he wasn’t finished with Promociones Dorado.

LA Park (presented by Salina de la Renta) defeated Pentagon Jr. (11:53)

An amazing showcase for the Mexican legend and de la Renta’s right-hand man. Age has no boundaries as LA Park rewound 20 years to defeat Pentagon with some amazing high-flying efforts.

Park met Pentagon at the entrance stage to start this wild brawl. Referee Frank Gastineau was giving them some leeway as they brawled around ringside using steps, guardrails, and ring posts. Park strutted around the ring as the bell rang to officially start the match when they finally made their way inside the ring.

Park whipped Penta with his belt, but the referee let him off with it. De la Renta then choked Pentagon right in front of the referee and kicked him behind his back. She tried to interfere again up on the apron, but Penta planted a kiss on her for good measure.

De la Renta then got caught up with Park, which gave Pentagon the opportunity to fight back and hit a huge tope con hiro on Park.

Pentagon hit a slingblade, but Park quickly retaliated with a German suplex for a two count. Park put Penta on the top rope, but Penta slipped out and hit a lungblower/backstabber off the ropes for a two count of his own. Park escaped out of a piledriver and hit a running knee for another near two count.

An enzuigiri and a superkick by Pentagon put him back in charge, but Park got a foot on the ropes to break the pinfall attempt. Pentagon then ate a big boot and a suplex into the corner, which only set up an amazing, huge dive from Park has he ran corner to corner, dove through the ropes, and splatted Pentagon on the outside.

Park continued his jaw-dropping aerial assault for a wrestler of his age, hitting Pentagon with a spinning heel kick off the top rope when they were back in the ring! He then hit Pentagon with a spear to pick up the win.

– De la Renta took the mic after the match and bad mouthed New York City and the live crowd. She said they were going to open a gift from their sponsors and brought out a big gift-wrapped box.

Park went to open the gift, but who popped out? None other than the Southern Psychopath Mance Warner. We went off the air as Warner and Park brawled across the entrance set.

Next week —

  • Barrington Hughes vs. Jacob Fatu
  • Gringo Loco vs. Alexander Hammerstone

Impact Wrestling results: Rebellion fallout, RVD returns

Fallout from Rebellion was the theme of this week’s episode of Impact from the Rebel Entertainment Complex in Toronto. The opening video was a full recap of the Rebellion pay-per-view, showcasing all of the matches.

The Twitch stream was hosted by Melissa Santos from the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, where Impact was having television tapings. There was a great cameo from Disco Inferno talking trash about the Philly fans and some of the Knockouts until Taya Valkyrie came out to get rid of him. Valkyrie then bullied Santos instead. Matt Striker also made a surprise appearance.

– Michael Elgin came down to the ring to open the episode. He cut a promo saying that Brian Cage wasn’t there to open the show, which is usually the tradition for a new champion. Elgin said it’s all because he took Cage out.

Elgin talked trash to the Canadian crowd for cheering on Cage instead of him. Elgin compared himself to Georges St-Pierre and Wayne Gretzky. He sent Cage a message, telling Cage that he left Japan to become the Impact World Champion.

Johnny Impact came out to interrupt Elgin. He told Elgin that he can’t just come out and jump the line. They talked trash to each other before Johnny finally claimed that it was him that sent Cage to the hospital. Johnny said that as the former World Champion, he deserves his rematch.

Suddenly, Konnan of all people came out to interrupt them. Konnan said that once again, Pentagon Jr. and Fenix are under his management, and he is here to represent Pentagon. Konnan said he thinks Pentagon is the one man to have a claim to the title.

Elgin tried to attack Konnan, but Pentagon came out and brawled with Elgin. They had a pull-apart, with Johnny getting a cheap shot on Elgin before taking off. Elgin took out the group of security and called out Johnny. The fans were mostly behind Pentagon.

– Josh Mathews and Don Callis gave an update on Cage, saying that he is recovering at home. Elgin, Johnny, and Pentagon are set to face off in a number one contender’s match later, with the winner getting the next shot at Cage’s World title.

Ace Austin defeated Petey Williams

Austin offered a handshake, but he pulled Williams into a headlock. That advantage didn’t last long as Williams got him with a dropkick to the back, a rana tossing Austin outside, and a dive on him.

Back in the ring, Austin took out Williams and hit a dive himself. Austin did a couple of headstands on the apron and dodged Williams’ offense. Williams did the corner National Anthem, but he gave Austin time to recover and come back with a springboard kick for a two count.

Austin got an armbreaker, slicing Williams’ fingers with the playing card while at it. Williams got a two count with a schoolboy. He hit a German suplex and a Russian leg sweep. Williams finally started chasing the Canadian Destroyer, but Austin was ready to cut him off with a kick for another two count.

Austin hit the Curb Stomp, but Williams reversed The Fold. Austin hit a swinging neckbreaker, and when he went for a second stomp, Williams reversed into a Sharpshooter. It was broken when Austin got to the ropes.

Austin hit a big top rope famouser for a two count. He hit a headscissors takedown from the top rope, then followed with The Fold to take the win. Good match, but it was starting to drag when the finish came.

– Somewhere in the Undead Realm, Rosemary was walking around with the stolen Undead Maid of Honor. She is waiting for the firefly to come out.

– oVe cut a video promo. Sami Callihan said that Impact management screwed him by banning his family from being out there for his match against Rich Swann at Rebellion. Callihan made the challenge for a four-on-four oVe rules match next week.

Rosemary (w/ The Undead Maid of Honor) vs. Kiera Hogan ended in a no contest

Hogan started with a couple of forearms on Rosemary and dodged Rosemary’s attacks. Hogan hit her running hip attack combo, then hit a rana and a top rope plancha. Rosemary cut her off with a sidewalk slam and went to attack her. Hogan took down Rosemary with a kick to the knee and followed with a couple of superkicks for a two count.

Hogan went for the finish, but Rosemary hit a big German suplex to cut her off. Rosemary went for a spear, but Hogan dodged it. Rosemary locked in the Upside Down. Hogan kicked Rosemary, with Rosemary crashing into the ramp. Rosemary shoved her down to the floor.

Suddenly, Su Yung came out with her Undead Bridesmaids and attacked Rosemary. Hogan teased helping Rosemary, but she decided not to. In the ring, the Undead Maid of Honor and Yung took their turns attacking Rosemary. Pretty bad match — Rosemary hasn’t looked good since her return from injury.

– Melissa Santos interviewed Taya Valkyrie, asking how she felt after defending her Knockouts Championship at Rebellion. Valkyrie said she has defeated everyone and there is no one left.

Madison Rayne walked up and said that she pinned Valkyrie last time. Rayne challenged Valkyrie to put the Knockouts title on the line against her tonight. Valkyrie blew her off, telling Rayne that one day she’ll get the match, but it’s up to Valkyrie to say when.

– Josh Mathews announced that The Great Muta returns to Impact for the Impact Plus special event “A Night You Can’t Mist” on June 8 from the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia.

– The Impact Plus Flashback of the Week was the first blood match between RVD and Rhino from TNA Final Resolution 2010.

– Valkyrie had a meeting with Impact management. Melissa Santos was outside hearing the meeting along with us. Valkyrie came out and told Santos that this is how things are dealt with, and she announced that she doesn’t have to defend the title for 30 days — so if Rayne wants a fight next week, she can have it, but it won’t be for the Knockouts Championship.

– Santana and Ortiz were backstage. Ortiz was binge drinking and Santana called him out, but Konnan came in. He told LAX that in two days, they’re defending their Tag Team titles at Code Red. Ortiz told Konnan that The Rascalz invited them to the Treehouse.

Fenix defeated Eddie Edwards

They shook hands to start the match. They went to have a fast-paced sequence with counters and reversals, going for wrist control. Eventually, Edwards found himself on the floor, which frustrated Edwards enough to pick up his kendo stick, but the referee stopped him.

Fenix once again kicked Edwards, and once again Edwards went for the kendo stick, only to get kicked again by Fenix. Edwards finally dropkicked Fenix to the floor and got a bit of control of the match.

Suddenly, we got the visual that Killer Kross was on the ramp watching the match.

Back in the ring, Edwards started stomping on Fenix, but Edwards kept getting distracted by Kross’ presence, giving Fenix the opening to hit a crucifix bomb for a two count. Edwards hit a Blue Thunder Bomb for two.

Edwards once again distracted himself with Kross, giving Fenix time to recover and exchange some chops before superkicking Edwards and hitting a cutter. Edwards hit a big forearm and a Tiger Driver for a 2.99 near fall.

Kross took Kenny the Kendo Stick and offered it to Edwards, and it was this distraction that gave Fenix the opening for a couple of kicks and a spinning Muscle Buster to pin Edwards.

Kross walked away with the kendo stick. Kross was wearing a T-shirt that said “Every great hero needs an even greater villain,” which I’m guessing is a hint towards Cage vs. Kross down the line.

– Backstage, Tommy Dreamer offered his help to Rich Swann for next week’s battle against oVe. Swann said he had Willie Mack and they were missing one more man. Suddenly, Scarlett Bordeaux came up and hinted at offering her help. Swann tried to talk her out of it, but she brought up Fallah Bahh instead.

– Rob Van Dam made his return to Impact Wrestling. He used his same old theme song, which is still terrible, but it now holds a nostalgic spot in my heart.

RVD cut a promo saying that he could just go on naming names he wants to wrestle, but instead he talked about seeing all the wrestlers do his moves. He said he wants to show them the difference between imitating the hero and being Rob Van Dam.

Ethan Page then came out. He had a couple of chairs and taunted RVD with them, showing him how to use chairs for once — by sitting down. They talked a bit of trash before Page disagreed about RVD being everyone’s hero — because Page would never do one of RVD’s signature moves.

RVD offered to face Page right now. Page told him they’ll face each other next week. RVD responded with a Van Daminator instead. RVD’s promo was a bit egotistical, but the reception of the fans was huge.

– Backstage, Josh Alexander berated Page for picking up matches with RVD instead of focusing on the Tag Team titles. Moose, dressed like Taichi, met up with them and told Alexander that he’ll team with him against LAX.

– We got a video package about the Tessa Blanchard vs. Gail Kim match from Rebellion. Kim said some words about her thoughts on the match and the moment of coming back to face Blanchard. She said that retiring like a champion left her with a sense of incompleteness, and putting over someone like Blanchard had given her the closure she needed.

– We then saw a video from Rebellion with Tully Blanchard congratulating Tessa backstage and talking about seeing her blossom into a great wrestler.

Michael Elgin defeated Johnny Impact (w/ Johnny Bravo) and Pentagon Jr. in a triple threat number one contender’s match

Johnny Impact came out with the X he won at United We Stand, reminding us that if he loses tonight, he still has a plan B in his pocket.

They started by trading quick roll-up attempts but went to a stalemate. Elgin and Johnny found themselves outside, with Pentagon taking them out with a baseball slide. He chopped and kicked Elgin, then went back to the ring to work on Johnny.

Johnny dodged Pentagon, but when Johnny went for a springboard, Elgin cut him off and hit an apron bomb. Elgin hit a German suplex and a clothesline on Pentagon. He went for a superplex, but Pentagon slipped out and hit a foot stomp onto a tree-of-woe position.

Pentagon went for a top rope move, but Elgin cut him off with a kick and once again went for a superplex, but instead Pentagon and Elgin traded chops, giving Johnny time to return and hit a German on Elgin as he superplexed Pentagon. The crowd popped for this spot.

All three men started exchanging strikes in the ring. Pentagon hit a springboard crossbody and a superkick on Johnny, then one on Elgin, who came back with a clothesline on both Pentagon and Johnny, followed by suplexing Johnny into Pentagon. Elgin hit a huge clothesline on Johnny, but Pentagon broke up the pin.

Pentagon and Elgin exchanged strikes and once again found themselves on the top of the ropes. Johnny took out Pentagon and hit a spinning Razor’s Edge on Elgin for a two count. Johnny went for the Countdown to Impact, but Elgin rolled out and hit an enzuigiri and a superkick.

Elgin went for the Elgin Bomb, but Pentagon returned with a couple of slingblades on both and a Pentagon Driver on Elgin for a two count. Pentagon hit a powerbomb backbreaker on Johnny for another two count.

They all fought on the apron, with Pentagon taking out Elgin with a couple of superkicks. Pentagon went for a Spanish Fly on Johnny, but he got cut off. Johnny went for a rana to the floor, but he botched it and they fell to the floor instead. Johnny made up for it by using a chair on Pentagon.

Back in the ring, Johnny hit a running knee on Elgin and set up Starship Pain, but Elgin dodged, hit a huge lariat, and then the turnbuckle bomb and Elgin Bomb combo for the pin.

Really great match for the time they got, though it didn’t seem like the crowd wanted to boo or cheer.

Final thoughts —

A really packed fallout episode for Impact Wrestling. It was a storyline heavy show — for the most part setting up some of the programs that will take us through the first part of episodes that will build towards Slammiversary in July. Aside from the Rosemary vs. Hogan match, the wrestling was really good.

Omega & Young Bucks vs. PAC & Lucha Bros set for AEW Fyter Fest

Kenny Omega and PAC will be on opposite sides of a six-man tag match at All Elite Wrestling’s event with CEO Fighting Game Championships.

It was announced today that Omega & The Young Bucks will team against PAC & Pentagon Jr. & Fenix at AEW Fyter Fest. The show is taking place at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, Florida on Saturday, June 29.

The Young Bucks have been feuding with The Lucha Bros and will defend their AAA Tag Team titles against them at Double or Nothing in Las Vegas on May 25. Omega is facing Chris Jericho at Double or Nothing, while PAC is wrestling Hangman Page.

This is the second year in a row that Omega has been involved with a pro wrestling event that’s in partnership with CEO’s gaming convention. CEO x NJPW When Worlds Collide took place in Daytona Beach last June.

The Fyter Fest name was announced earlier this week and is a reference to the failed Fyre Fest music festival from 2017. CEO organizer Alex Jebailey vs. AEW’s Michael Nakazawa in a hardcore match is also set for Fyter Fest, with it being a rematch of their comedy match from the CEO x NJPW pre-show.

Tickets for Fyter Fest will go on sale in early May. AEW Fight for the Fallen is taking place in Jacksonville two weeks after Fyter Fest.

The Young Bucks vs. Lucha Bros official for AEW Double or Nothing

After multiple angles were shot to set up the match, The Young Bucks vs. Lucha Bros is finally official for AEW Double or Nothing.

The Young Bucks vs. Pentagon Jr. & Fenix was confirmed for Double or Nothing at the end of this week’s episode of Being the Elite. The announcement comes after an angle where The Young Bucks showed up at an AAW show over the weekend, cost Pentagon & Fenix the AAW Tag Team, titles, and issued the challenge for Double or Nothing.

That was the follow up to Pentagon and Fenix attacking The Young Bucks at this month’s ticket announcement party. The storyline for their match has been built around both teams thinking they’re the best in the world.

The MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada is hosting Double or Nothing on Saturday, May 25. Here’s the updated card:

  • Kenny Omega vs. Chris Jericho
  • The Young Bucks vs. The Lucha Bros
  • Hangman Page vs. PAC
  • Britt Baker vs. Nyla Rose vs. Kylie Rae
  • SoCal Uncensored (Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian & Scorpio Sky) vs. Cima and two partners from Oriental Wrestling Entertainment
  • Over Budget Battle Royale (Sonny Kiss, Kip Sabian, and Brandon Cutler confirmed thus far)

VIDEO: Young Bucks challenge Lucha Bros for AEW Double or Nothing

The build to Double or Nothing was furthered with an angle at Saturday night’s AAW show in Chicago, Illinois.

As The Lucha Bros (Pentagon Jr. & Fenix) were defending their AAW Tag Team titles against LAX (Santana & Ortiz) and AR Fox & Myron Reed, The Young Bucks attacked Pentagon and Fenix while the referee was down. They laid out Pentagon and Fenix with superkicks, Matt Jackson gave Pentagon a package piledriver, and they hit the Meltzer Driver on Fenix.

LAX hit their Street Sweeper finisher on Pentagon to become AAW Tag Team Champions.

The Young Bucks then came back into the ring and got on the microphone. They challenged Pentagon & Fenix to a match at AEW Double or Nothing, and Fenix replied that the best answer is what the people say. Fenix said the people want to watch The Young Bucks vs. the best tag team on the planet — The Lucha Bros.

The angle ended with The Young Bucks superkicking Pentagon and Fenix again. Matt Jackson said they know Pentagon and Fenix’s schedule, and The Young Bucks will see them around.

The Young Bucks’ appearance at AAW was the follow up to The Lucha Bros attacking them at the Double or Nothing ticket announcement party earlier this month. Double or Nothing is taking place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday, May 25.

Video of the Young Bucks-Lucha Bros angle from AAW is available to watch below:

MLW Fusion results: Mystery tag match, Lucha Bros talk their future

Quick recap —

  • Myron Reed defeated DJZ
  • Gringo Loco defeated Puma King
  • Mystery tag team match: Brian Pillman Jr. & Davey Boy Smith Jr. defeated Tommy Dreamer & The Sandman

Full rundown —

The opening video has been updated to include the Hart Foundation’s Doomsday Destroyer and Tom Lawlor winning the MLW World Heavyweight Championship from last week.

We opened from the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia with a quick recap of last week’s episode showing the final moments and title celebrations from Lawlor and the Hart Foundation.

Myron Reed defeated DJZ (6:24)

DJZ hit a combination of a dropkick, jawbreaker, and springboard back elbow to take the upper hand early on. Reed took a breather on the outside, but DJZ had other ideas and landed a suicide dive from the apron through the ropes, in front of the ring post, onto Reed on the outside.

DJZ followed up inside the ring with a splash and a springboard moonsault, but Reed got his knees up. This gave Reed the opportunity to land a huge dive to the outside of his own.

Back in the ring, DJZ hit a neckbreaker — but Reed was able to fight back and hit his suplex into a stunner combination and quickly a middle rope springboard cutter for a close two count. He jaw-jacked with the referee, which seemed to cost him some precious time as DJZ cut him off on the top rope and joined him up there.

Reed kicked DJZ off and hoped to land a flipping whoopee cushion, but DJZ caught him and planted him with a powerbomb. DJZ tried to follow up with the DZT, but Reed blocked it. DJZ then tried an O’Connor roll — but Reed rolled through, grabbed the tights, and held on for the win.

– H2TV was back with Teddy Hart and Brian Pillman Jr. for a Valentine’s Day Q&A session. Pillman was asked what girlfriend he will spend Valentine’s Day with, and Hart was asked what pussy (cat) he would be spending it with. They were asked if Davey Boy Smith Jr. is single and if he is as big as he looks on TV. Hart finished by saying that Pillman has gold in his future.

Gringo Loco defeated Puma King (7:37)

They quickly leapt into arm drags, roll-throughs, flips, and leg sweeps. Loco’s headscissors was reversed, and both tried pinfalls before nipping up at the same time to the adulation of the crowd.

Puma King took a cheap shot to take the advantage and bit Loco’s ear to add insult. Loco fought back and hit his headscissors, but Puma King quickly hit one of his own and followed up with a springboard splash to the outside.

A crossbody and superkick followed in the ring as Puma King stayed on the advantage. He evaded Loco by rolling out of the ring but was not expecting him to immediately spring over the top rope and land a rolling dive.

Back in the ring, Loco went up top and hit a second rope corkscrew elbow for a two count. Puma King fought back with a jumping codebreaker and rolled through into a Camel Clutch pinning combination for a two count of his own.

After an exchange on the top rope, Loco leapt off and hit a huge springboard middle rope cutter — but Puma King got his shoulder up at the last moment. Puma King came close with a Code Red but was visibly frustrated after another two count. He was then crotched on the top rope as he took too much time but caught Loco and took him off the top with a headscissor takeover.

Puma King sprung to the opposite corner — but Loco caught him again and was able to hit a huge Spanish Fly from the top rope to pick up the win.

– Matt Striker hyped up that we would be hearing from Pentagon Jr. and Fenix tonight on their future with MLW.

– MJF was backstage talking about Teddy Hart. He said he doesn’t get Hart and he wants the admiration that Hart gets. He wants the fans to thank him for being the good role model that Hart can’t be. MJF said that next week — he will beat down Teddy Hart and win back his MLW Middleweight Championship that he never lost.

– Cameras caught up with Tommy Dreamer earlier in the parking lot. He said Pillman should be honored to be in this building. He said Pillman is everything he doesn’t like — Pillman is coming to his house and will be lucky to make it out alive.

– We then had a Jimmy Havoc hype video saying that he will be back.

Brian Pillman Jr. & Davey Boy Smith Jr. defeated Tommy Dreamer & The Sandman (8:07)

Pillman came out himself and took the mic. He said he isn’t going to step into the ring with a washed up ECW junkie. He has the constitutional right to choose his own partner, and he picked Davey Boy Smith Jr.

Dreamer’s partner needed no introduction as the sounds of Metallica introduced The Sandman to the Philadelphia loyal. We got the full five-minute entrance — including fans downing beers, a Teddy Hart embrace, and The Sandman mopping up some tactically spilled beverage from some women.

Sandman made his way to the ring apron as the final chords played and he finished his sixth beer of the evening. Well, there is no way I can confirm that for a fact. He finished his sixth beer of his entrance and spat the last drops in Smith’s face.

The technical catch-as-catch-can masterpiece we were all hoping for was quickly ruined as, unpredictably, the action immediately spilled to the outside for a fist fight. Sandman smashed a beer over Pillman’s head, then Dreamer rammed him face-first into a fan’s boot.

In the ring, the ECW originals hit a double back elbow and double elbow drop. Sandman chopped and booted Pillman in the corner before Dreamer got in for some of his own.

Smith hit Dreamer from the apron to give the Hart Foundation the upper hand. Pillman hit a side Russian leg sweep to insult Sandman. Smith came in, legally this time, and hit Dreamer with a huge standing vertical suplex for a two count.

Dreamer had some hope with a DDT and got the hot tag to Sandman. He ran wild over Pillman with right hands and a white Russian leg sweep that Smith broke up the cover on. Out of nowhere, Dreamer hit a big cutter on Smith as Sandman found a Singapore cane and began to stalk Pillman around the ring.

Pillman scrambled in all four corners, finding his own cane, a piece of broken table, and finally a human being to stop Sandman in his tracks. Pillman lifted the hood off the ring dweller to reveal the Blue Meanie! Sandman went for the cane shot, Pillman pulled Meanie in front of him, and Meanie showed his true colors and waffled Pillman with a right hand. Sandman finally got his cane shot in.

In the ring, Dreamer had set up two chairs facing each other. He went for a Spiccoli driver on Smith, but Pillman hit him in the face with the Singapore cane. That gave Smith the opportunity to slip off and hit a big Pillman-assisted powerbomb through the chairs for the win. Dreamer and Sandman received a standing ovation as they left the ring.

– We cut backstage to see Pentagon Jr. & Fenix. Fenix said the Lucha Bros are here to take over the world as they are the best tag team in the world. Pentagon followed up saying they wrestle wherever they want, when they want, and they don’t care who it’s against. They will be in Chicago next month, they are staying in MLW, and they will be waiting for any tag team.

– Before the show went off the air, we cut to Lawlor staggering out of a club at 8 a.m. He just had an all-nighter with the MLW World Heavyweight Championship and said the work is never done when you’re “Filthy” Tom Lawlor.

Teddy Hart defends the MLW Middleweight title against MJF.

Fenix suffers injury at AAW Lucha City Limits

By Joseph Currier with reporting from Dave Meltzer

Update —

AAW tweeted an update on Fenix and noted that he’s been released from the hospital: “UPDATE on @ReyFenixMx – He has been treated and released from the hospital with a muscle contusion. He is feeling good and will be back up to 100% after some rest. We thank you all for your concern and for making #LUCHACITY such wonderful time!”

Original —

Fenix was taken to the hospital after suffering a stinger at last night’s AAW Lucha City Limits show in Austin, Texas.

Fenix & Pentagon Jr. defeated AR Fox & Myron Reed to win the AAW Tag Team titles in the main event of the show, but the finish was abrupt after Fenix was injured during a spot where he hit a diving cutter. Fenix stayed down after the spot and was helped to the back following the match.

AAW tweeted that Fenix was taken to a local hospital as a precaution after the injury, and AAW’s Danny Daniels followed up by writing that Fenix is “ok but just needs to take it easy for a bit.”

Due to the injury, Fenix will miss his remaining dates this weekend. He hopes to be back for Impact Wrestling’s television tapings in Las Vegas, Nevada next weekend.

Fenix & Pentagon appeared at All Elite Wrestling’s ticket announcement party on Thursday night and took part in an angle where they laid out The Young Bucks, seemingly setting up a match between the teams for AEW Double or Nothing on May 25.

Impact Wrestling results: LAX vs. Lucha Bros Tag Team title match

Tonight’s Twitch broadcast was hosted by Josh Mathews and Don Callis, who is currently in Osaka, Japan for New Japan Pro Wrestling. After the show, Jake & Dave Crist joined the feed for a Q&A.

Impact Wrestling returned from Fronton Mexico in Mexico City this week with a huge main event as LAX defended their Tag Team titles against the Lucha Bros (Pentagon & Fenix).

This was also the go-home show for next week’s “Uncaged” episode of Impact, which will feature Johnny Impact defending his World title against Brian Cage, Moose, and Killer Kross in a four-way match, Taya Valkyrie vs. Tessa Blanchard in a street fight for the Knockouts Championship, and Team AAA vs. Team Impact in a World Cup elimination match.

Rich Swann & Willie Mack defeated oVe (Jake & Dave Crist)

oVe jumped Swann and Mack to start the match, going after Swann. He managed to escape and tag in Mack, who was in a better position to take on the initial flurry of offense. Mack came in, threw both men out, and hit a tope con giro. Swann then followed with a tornillo, but Jake recovered and hit a tope suicida into a tornado DDT on Swann before he could make it back in the ring.

On the other side of the ring, Dave took out Mack with a superkick.

Back in the ring, Dave worked over Mack’s head with a modified STF and a series of double-team moves, mostly taking turns kicking Mack and making a lot of quick tags. Jake got a two count with a Northern Lights suplex.

After some more punishment, Mack dodged some offense, but he and Jake collided in the middle of the ring with a pair of crossbodies. That was enough to give Mack the opening to tag Swann in.

Swann came in strong, hitting a few kicks on Dave and a standing Frankensteiner and frog splash on Jake. oVe cut Swann off the top rope and hit a spike piledriver, but Mack broke up the pin attempt.

Mack hit a double stunner on both Crist brothers, followed by a double Lethal injection. Swann then hit a second rope 450 on Dave for the win. The match started somewhat chaotic, but it got a lot better towards the end.

Pentagon Jr. & Fenix cut a promo where they said that tonight, they will win the Tag Team titles. Fenix said they’re wrestling in front of their family and their people — and so tonight, they’re going all out. Pentagon talked about Konnan saying that he wanted the titles to be in the family, but after tonight, they’ll be on their side of the family.

Mathews and Callis announced that next week, for Uncaged, Johnny Impact defends his World Championship against Brian Cage, Moose, and Killer Kross.

The Flashback Moment of the Week, voted by the Twitch viewers, was Pentagon Jr. defeating Austin Aries and Fenix to win the Impact World title at Redemption.

Impact Wrestling and the NFL Alumni association’s Las Vegas chapter announced a partnership. They will be doing community outreach and programs of the sort.

Kiera Hogan (w/ Jordynne Grace) defeated Dark Allie (w/ Su Yung)

Hogan started the match at 60 mph, attacking Allie at the bell. Hogan hit her running kick and forearm combo for a quick pin attempt. She then hit a bulldog for a two count.

Allie finally managed to stop Hogan with a running clothesline and get some time to compose herself. She hit a sliding forearm for a two count and started working over Hogan’s back. Allie went for the codebreaker, but Hogan countered with a kick and got a two count. Allie hit a backstabber for another near fall. Hogan hit a reverse X-Factor for a 10 count tease.

Outside the ring, we saw Yung leave her glove in the ring, setting it up for Allie to grab. Grace saw that and took out Yung, but as Allie realized that Yung wasn’t there, she assumed that Rosemary had replaced Yung once again.

Thanks to the distraction, Hogan hit a Cross Rhodes-like move for the win. Not much of a match, it was short and almost felt like a segment.

Johnny Impact was interviewed backstage about having to defend his title against Cage, Moose, and Kross next week. Johnny was irate that he had to find out during an interview in the middle of a hall. Cage came out and looked annoyed that he had to share his title shot with more people.

We got the announcement of the main event for Impact’s United We Stand show, which will be the Lucha Bros taking on RVD & Sabu in an “extreme dream match.” United We Stand is a show co-promoted with WrestlePro that’s taking place in Rahway, New Jersey on the Thursday of WrestleMania week.

Backstage, we saw Allie and Yung looking for Rosemary in some corner of the building. Suddenly, a message appeared that read “The witching is upon us…don’t say we didn’t warn you,” signed Rosemary.

Trey Miguel (w/ The Rascalz) defeated Rohit Raju (w/ Gama Singh and Raj Singh)

Pretty good match. It started with both doing a series of counters and reversals, with Raju actually getting some upper hand early on but later getting outwrestled by Miguel.

Miguel hit a springboard dropkick, sending Raju to the outside, but he couldn’t follow with a dive. Raju hit a big DDT on the apron and finally had control of the match. He distracted the referee at points, allowing Raj to get some cheap shots outside the ring. Meanwhile, inside the ring, Raju worked over Miguel’s upper body.

As they started trading counters again, Miguel hit a standing foot stomp on the back of Raju’s head to finally level out the match. They got into a strike-off where Raju tried to give Miguel an eye poke but failed. Miguel hit the corner Trey-1-9 and a neckbreaker for a two count. Raju hit a gordbuster for two. Raju got another near fall after a running knee to the back of Miguel’s head.

Raj tried to interfere again, but Dezmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz stopped him and scared Gama away. Back in the ring, Trey hit X19 and the meteora for the win.

We had a Team AAA showcase featuring Psycho Clown, Hijo del Vikingo, Puma King, and Aerostar, who will be fighting for the World Cup next week against Team Impact Wrestling.

Scarlett Bordeaux announced that she is making her in-ring debut at the Vegas tapings.

Sami Callihan defeated Puma King

Another great match, definitely worth a watch. Callihan started by jumping Puma King during his entrance, but he wasn’t able to follow up as Puma King composed himself quickly and hit a suplex to get some time.

Puma King responded with a tope con giro. They started brawling outside the ring, with Puma King kicking Callihan all over until Callihan hid behind the ref and poked Puma King’s eyes, getting an opening to hit a tornado DDT for the countout tease.

Back in the ring, Callihan hit a sit-down powerbomb for a one count. He worked over Puma King’s foot and went after his mask. Callihan started chopping him but kept getting distracted playing to the fans, giving Puma King more and more time to recover.

Callihan went for a foot stomp, but Puma King turned it into a Frankensteiner from the tree-of-woe position and followed with a dropkick to make a comeback.

Back from commercial, Callihan had regained control. As we saw the recap from during the commercial, Puma King took a bad spill outside, hurting his already worked on foot. Puma King still tried to make a comeback as they got into a striking battle, ending with both men down for a double knockout tease.

Puma King hit a variation of the Blue Thunder Bomb for a two count. He followed with a series of strikes, but Callihan countered with a huge lariat for a two count. Callihan started to chase the piledriver, but Puma King escaped and went for La Magistral. Callihan reached the ropes to break the pin.

Puma King went for a springboard kick, but Callihan caught him with a kick. They traded roll-ups, but it ended with Callihan rolling Puma King all the way into a piledriver for the win. Puma King was really over in this match.

We got a Taya Valkyrie vs. Tessa Blanchard hype video for next week’s street fight for the Knockouts Championship. Good stuff.

Backstage, Eddie Edwards and Eli Drake met. Drake told Edwards that they were able to win last week without having to rely on weapons and hardcore shtick. Drake told him that next week, they can win the World Cup match. Edwards told Drake to let him do his thing and not get in his way. Drake once again asked Edwards to bring the Wolf Eddie Edwards back.

Melissa Santos interviewed Moose and Killer Kross, who said they have the numbers advantage in next week’s main event. Moose made some NFL analogies that seemed to annoy Kross, showing some dissension going into the title match.

Lucha Bros (Pentagon Jr. & Fenix) defeated LAX (Santana & Ortiz) w/ Konnan to win the Impact Tag Team titles

Great back-and-forth match — they went all out bell to bell. I saw this match live and can say that it looked a lot better during this broadcast. The Lucha Bros, as expected, were really over with the crowd in Mexico City. They had a big-match entrance with Chinese Dragon dancers — just in time for Chinese New Year.

The match was full of action at the start. Pentagon went for the Fear Factor, but LAX took him out and countered with an assisted moonsault that Pentagon countered himself with a superkick on Santana while he was in the middle of the air.

Santana took out Fenix, Pentagon took out Ortiz, and the two survivors went face-to-face and went at it. Fenix came back, took out Santana, and went at it with Ortiz in a striking match.

That was followed by Pentagon and Ortiz striking each other until Santana came out of nowhere with a plancha and Fenix hit a double dropkick as they all finally found themselves down. Great start to the match!

Back from commercial, Ortiz and Fenix were the legal men going at it and order had been restored. Fenix hit an uppercut and a foot stomp to the back of Ortiz’s head for a near fall. Ortiz returned with a huge spinebuster to stop Fenix’s momentum.

Pentagon and Santana tagged in and got into a knife chop battle that turned into superkicks and a huge uranage from Santana for a near fall. Pentagon caught Santana and hit a Pentagon Driver that Santana kicked out of for a big two count.

The match once again broke down to tornado style. Santana got a huge near fall with the same move that LAX won with at Homecoming, but Fenix kicked out at two. LAX hit the Street Sweeper, but Pentagon managed to break the pin at the last second.

Pentagon took out Ortiz with a slingblade. Fenix hit a big time kick on Santana and set up the spike Fear Factor, but Santana kicked out! Pentagon went for the Fear Factor again, but Santana kicked out once again. Pentagon finally hit a superkick and Fenix hit a reverse rana and a second spike Fear Factor to win the titles. That got a huge pop.

After the match, LAX congratulated the Lucha Bros. They went face-to-face before giving up the ring for the Lucha Bros to continue their celebration. Ortiz cried as he walked to the back. Pentagon and Fenix posed with the titles to close the show.

Overall, this was a really good episode of Impact. Three of the five matches were great, with a main event that is worth going out of your way to check out. There wasn’t a lot of storyline development as most things for next week’s Uncaged episode had pretty much already been set up, but the three big matches were all hyped throughout the night.

Young Bucks invite Pentagon Jr. & Fenix to AEW

Pentagon Jr. and Rey Fenix appear to be associated with AEW in some form after the Young Bucks made them an offer during a McAloon Productions show in Georgia last night.

After Fenix and Pentagon Jr. defeated Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian in the main event, The Young Bucks came out and put them over, saying they were the second best tag team in the world, which the two didn’t like. Matt said that if they wanted to prove they were the best, they should join AEW.

Instead of contracts, both Bucks extended their hands, looking for a handshake. Fenix and Pentagon were considering accepting when a group of enhancement talent came in and started to attack everyone. With SCU’s help, they were all dispatched. Once everything was finished, they did end up shaking the Young Bucks’ hands.

Chris Jericho posted on Twitter that he’s heard Pentagon and Fenix had signed an exclusive deal with AEW, but that doesn’t appear to be the case. They still have three seasons left in their Lucha Underground contract, but have been allowed to work other promotions including AAA, CMLL, MLW and Impact.

Dave Meltzer is reporting that they would need permission from Lucha Underground to work Double or Nothing but doesn’t expect there to be any issue with them working the show. They are currently on hiatus, with no word of a new season.

MLW Fusion results: Pentagon Jr. vs. Teddy Hart

Quick results —

  • LA Park defeated Gringo Loco
  • Teddy Hart defeated Pentagon Jr.

Full recap —

The first episode of MLW Fusion in 2019 opened up with a video recap of the shocking events that concluded last week’s Low Ki vs. Konnan match: Low Ki stabbing a foreign object into the back of Konnan before Tom Lawlor made the save and sent Promociones Dorado running.

Tony Schiavone and Rich Bocchini welcomed us to the show and hyped up this week’s main event of Teddy Hart vs. Pentagon Jr. and also mentioned we would be hearing from the injured Kotto Brazil.

LA Park (w/ Salina de la Renta) defeated Gringo Loco (12:19)

Bocchini mentioned that Gringo Loco has exclusively signed with MLW as he made his way to the ring. We had a cut-in promo from de la Renta during LA Park’s entrance saying her New Year’s resolution is a year of the revolution of violence in Promociones Dorado.

Loco was over with the local Miami crowd as they took turns working the corners to warm the fans up. After a cheap shot from Park, they immediately went to the outside and up through the fans for a bit of crowd brawling. Park used a sign from one of the fans as a weapon before they made their way back to the ring. He kept on the offensive with a hard clothesline before removing his belt to use on the hurting Loco.

Park had the crowd in his hands as he was using their enthusiasm for Loco against them with each belt shot to the back.

They went to the outside again — where Park set up two chairs seat-to-seat before powerbombing Loco on top of them. The crowd erupted in a “USA” chant as Park taunted them some more by draping a Mexican flag over his head and telling them to “suck it.”

Back in the ring, Loco fought back and hit Park with a huge springboard apron-to-ring middle rope cutter but only got a two count. He kept his momentum running with a tope con hilo to the outside.

They made their way to the entrance stage, but Loco suddenly made his way up the lighting grid at the side of the main screen in the arena. He steadied himself on the top, then lined up and dove off with a crossbody from the top of the lighting grid! The crowd appreciated it and gave him a “holy sh*t” chant, quickly followed by “This is awesome.”

After a slow start for Loco, he was giving himself a really good showing and looked to end the match by going up to the top rope — but he took too much time and missed a corkscrew splash. This gave Park the chance to get back into the match that he dominated so much of in the opening sections.

After some kicks in the corner, Park threatened the referee to stop getting in his way. As he turned to inflict more damage, the referee got physically involved and ended up restraining him by holding his arms back. This gave Loco an opening to kick Park, who fell back on top of the referee and flattened him on the mat.

Loco went up top and went for a frog splash, but Park moved and he squashed the referee instead. Park capitalized on the mix-up, and as Loco was checking on the referee, Park steadied himself and hit Loco with a huge spear for the win.

– Kaci Lennox was backstage with Kotto Brazil and wanted to know his side of the story regarding his injured eye. He said he was in the club in Miami and Ricky Martinez came out of nowhere and attacked him with a champagne bottle to the eye. Brazil said the doctor has told him he needs to wear an eye patch until it heals. He said he is coming for Martinez and he has only one eye, but it is on him so he better run.

– We saw another recap of last week’s conclusion of the Low Ki vs. Konnan match, and Tony Schiavone told us that members of Promociones Dorado have been fined the following amounts of money: Low Ki: $15,000, Salina de la Renta: $15,000, Ricky Martinez: $7,500, Hijo de LA Park: $7,500.

– There was a phone interview with Bocchini and Konnan where they discussed last week’s goings on. Konnan said he has a concussion, a possible punctured kidney, has blood in his urine, and is going through tests. He said what Low Ki has started, he is going to end.

–  Low Ki was then backstage where he was trash talking Tom Lawlor and hyping up their MLW World Heavyweight title match in February. He called himself Genghis Khan and said Lawlor is no conqueror. He said he is going to tear Lawlor’s heart out in front of his children and make an example out of him. An example that no one will ever forget.

– We then cut to a recorded message from Fred Yehi. He was talking to Low Ki and said he is back after his three-month trip to Germany. Yehi said he has been keeping up to date with MLW and the goings on between the champion and Yehi’s teammate Tom Lawlor. He challenged Low Ki to a fight next week.

– Kaci Lennox was backstage, this time with Ace Romero. Lennox asked Romero what he is going to spend his $20,000 on. He said that he is here for the real prize, the ultimate prize, he is here for the MLW World Heavyweight Championship.

– We cut to Tommy Dreamer holding a Singapore cane. He was talking to Brian Pillman Jr. about the cane being a thing of beauty and how, when it hits you, the wood opens and cuts your skin. He said he was caned for real when he took 13 shots from the Sandman. He said Pillman does not know the pain that he is about to experience next week in their Singapore cane match.

Teddy Hart (w/ Davey Boy Smith Jr. and Brian Pillman Jr.) defeated Pentagon Jr. (11:16)

A hard-hitting but fast-paced encounter closed the first episode of MLW Fusion in 2019. We saw footage from last week where Pentagon was attacked by Promociones Dorado at the end of the show. Schiavone questioned if Pentagon was fully fit to be fighting Teddy Hart tonight.

The two wrestlers traded hard shots to open the match. Pentagon looked in control and was looking to suplex Hart out of the ring from the apron, but in mid-air Hart twisted and countered with a cutter across the top rope. He then followed up with a slingshot piledriver through the middle ropes that knocked Pentagon down to the floor.

Hart followed up with a huge moonsault off the top rope to the outside to kick off the high-risk action. On the outside, Smith Jr. and Pillman Jr. took turns holding Pentagon so that Hart could get some cheap shots in. But it wasn’t for long as Pentagon reversed a whip and sent Hart face-first into the ring post and got his revenge on Pillman and Smith with some kicks and right hands.

Back on the apron, Pentagon reversed a Hart piledriver attempt and followed up with an unbelievable and brutal looking Canadian Destroyer to the ring apron! Pentagon quickly rolled the limp Hart back into the ring and followed up with a package piledriver but, amazingly, Hart kicked out at two.

Pentagon then followed up with another astonishing aerial attack as he dove off the middle rope. Hart was bending forward getting back to his feet, and in one fluid motion, Pentagon planted his feet by Hart’s head, jumped, and hit another Canadian Destroyer. He dragged a lifeless Teddy Hart to the center of the ring — but again Hart kicked out at two.

A “This is awesome” chant from the crowd started up again as Pentagon hit some hard chops to the “woo” of the crowd. Hart evaded an attack in the corner and followed up with a dropkick to make an opening for himself. He took full advantage of it with a big moonsault for a two count of his own.

A neckbreaker was followed up with a huge middle rope springboard moonsault elbow drop — but again only received a two count. Pentagon then caught Hart in the corner and hit a hard superkick to the gut. He avoided some elbow strikes and in doing so wrapped Hart up before hitting him with a pumphandle slam, shifting mid-air into a modified Pentagon Driver! Hart kept himself alive in the match by just getting his shoulder up at the last moment.

Pentagon put Hart up on the top rope and looked like he was going for a German suplex — but Hart fought out of it, knocked Pentagon off, and hit a rolling senton bomb to take back the advantage. He then quickly followed up with a top rope Canadian Destroyer and a springboard moonsault for another amazingly close two count.

Both wrestlers looked out of gas as the referee started the double down 10 count. Hart stumbled to the corner and began climbing. He wearily dove off looking for a tornado DDT, but Pentagon caught him and floored him after an arm ringer.

Pentagon looked for an armbar, but Hart slipped out and hit a lungblower, a cradle DDT, and finally a power bomb lungblower to pick up the win and wrap up this amazing matchup.

Next week —

  • Tommy Dreamer vs. Brian Pillman Jr. in a Singapore cane match.
  • Low Ki vs. Fred Yehi
  • Dragon Lee vs. Rich Swann

Impact Wrestling results: Homecoming go-home show

This week’s opening video had a special emphasis on Sami Callihan and Rich Swann’s efforts to not have each other’s partners fight. The video also featured the top feuds going into Sunday’s Homecoming pay-per-view.

Josh Mathews did a voiceover bidding farewell to Pop TV and announcing their move to the Pursuit Channel starting at 10 p.m. Eastern time on Friday, January 11.

Rich Swann, Willie Mack, Dezmond Xavier, Trey Miguel & Zachary Wentz defeated Sami Callihan, Dave Crist, Jake Crist, Matt Sydal & Ethan Page

Miguel and Jake Crist started the match with a series of counters and reversals. There were quick tags to Xavier and Callihan, and once again, after one move, Wentz got tagged in. Swann tagged in with a double axe handle. Mack came in and within a minute, all members of the babyface team had been legal.

Everyone got in the ring and faced off. They started brawling around the ring, leaving Miguel and Callihan inside, with the latter dropping Miguel with a huge lariat and then another one on the apron. Miguel countered and hit a rana to the outside, starting a sequence where everyone did dives to the outside one by one, ending with Xavier’s Space Flying Tiger Drop.

Miguel went to the top rope, but Jake Crist caught him and hit a cutter from the top to the floor on top of everyone. We got “This is awesome” chants.

Back from commercial, Callihan worked over Miguel in the ring. Dave Crist tagged in and worked over Miguel’s legs for a bit. Sydal came in and choked Miguel until he reached the ropes. Finally, Page came in, but Miguel managed to make a small comeback and make it to his corner.

Swann came in with the hot tag and took out everyone, including a double cutter on Callihan and Dave Crist and a Phoenix Splash on Page for a two count. Mack tagged in and was going for a piledriver, but Callihan came in and hit a big kick — followed by everyone taking turns to hit their finishers. Page finally got a two count on Mack.

Mack took out Page to the floor, only for Dave Crist to get a blind tag, but Mack caught him with a top rope stunner for the pin.

After the match, Callihan attacked Mack with his bat. oVe set up a table in the ring and hit the All Seeing Eye on Mack through the table. Swann dragged himself to protect Mack’s body, but oVe walked away, letting Swann live another day.

We got a video package recounting the complete Eddie Edwards and Moose saga.

Eli Drake came to the ring to address his Monster’s Ball match with Abyss at Homecoming. Drake brought up that he is being forced into the Monster’s Ball match by Impact’s management, but he has already taken out Joseph Park — so Abyss is not coming back.

Drake threatened that if Abyss makes it to Homecoming, he’ll be forced to become what he hates and take out Abyss, because he is “hardcore.”

Tommy Dreamer came down with a chair. He hit a DDT on Drake, but as he went for a Pillmanizer, the lights went out and Raven appeared. Raven and Dreamer went face-to-face, but instead of fighting, they teamed up against Drake as they ran him out. ECW will never die.

Back from commercial, Gama Singh introduced the Desi Hit Squad and dedicated this match to Scarlett Bordeaux. She came out to watch the match from the ramp.

Fallah Bahh & KM defeated The Desi Hit Squad (Rohit Raju & Raj Singh)

The match started with the Desi Hit Squad jumping Bahh and KM, tossing the latter outside and going for Bahh inside the ring. Thanks to some dirty tactics, Raju and Singh got some offense and double team moves every time that Bahh showed signs of a comeback.

Singh went for a scoop slam, but the weight of Bahh was too much and his knees buckled, allowing Bahh to escape and tag in KM.

KM came in strong until getting taken out after Singh raked his eyes. Bahh recovered and hit a flying crossbody on both Desi Hit Squad members, followed by a Banzai Drop on Singh for the pin. Bordeaux seemed impressed before leaving to the back.

Pentagon Jr. and Fenix cut a promo on LAX saying that both teams are similar, but history shows that when Konnan is not with Santana and Ortiz, they tend to lose. Pentagon said that last time, Santana pushed him and thus all respect is out the window. Fenix said that come January 6, they’re winning the Tag Team titles. Well, this escalated out of nowhere.

Dark Allie (w/ Su Yung) defeated Kiera Hogan

Hogan started the match all fired up going after Allie with a series of kicks and a bulldog for a one count. Hogan hit a tope suicida on Yung when Allie dodged the attack, but the distraction allowed Allie to blindside Hogan and get control of the match. Allie’s offense was mostly stomps and clotheslines.

Hogan made a comeback, but she couldn’t finish up Allie, who actually landed a codebreaker out of nowhere for the pin. This was a sloppy match.

After the match, Allie and Yung attacked Hogan in the corner until Jordynne Grace came out for the save. Grace hit a Samoan slam on Allie, a sit-down powerbomb on Yung, and finished them off with some running knees. This story just took a weird direction — Jordynne Grace is not someone that should be fighting for souls right now.

We got a video from “earlier today” with Trevor Lee going to Impact management asking for a match.

LAX cut a promo from outside the venue. Ortiz said all they wanted was to be pro wrestlers and brought up that Santana and he have always had each other’s back. They talked about losing when Konnan wasn’t there, but they need to prove it to everyone and themselves that they can get the job done with or without Konnan. Great babyface promos by both.

Killer Kross defeated Trevor Lee

This started with both men locking up, with Kross overpowering Lee to get control and Lee reversing out of Kross’ locks. Kross eventually was too much for Lee and started tossing him around in the corner. He hit the Doomsday Saito and locked in the Kross Jacket to choke out Lee. A squash match that reminds us of Kross’ dominance.

Kross then wished Johnny Impact luck against Brian Cage at Homecoming. Kross ordered the timekeeper to hold a cinder block to Lee’s head as Kross punched the block into pieces. The timekeeper ran off and Lee was written off Impact Wrestling.

The Lucha Brothers (Pentagon Jr. & Fenix) defeated Impact World Champion Johnny Impact & Brian Cage

Cage and Fenix started the match — a speed and power matchup with Cage catching Fenix’s every move by using his strength alone. Pentagon came in and Cage also manhandled him until Impact blind tagged himself into the match.

Impact did a good job at first, working on Pentagon and dodging his attacks, but out of nowhere, Pentagon hit a slingblade and a backstabber and turned things around. After some offense by Pentagon, Cage was now the one with a blind tag, but the Lucha Brothers cut Cage off before he could take control.

Cage and Pentagon fought outside the ring as Fenix went for a suicide dive, but Impact cut him off with a kick and hit an Asai moonsault on Pentagon. Fenix recovered and hit a tornillo to take everyone out.

Back from commercial, Impact and Cage continued blind tagging each other as they worked over Fenix. Impact hit a huge Spanish Fly from the top rope for a near fall that Pentagon broke up. Pentagon hit the Pentagon Driver on Impact, but Cage saved him from the pin.

Everyone got in the ring and traded kicks, with Cage hitting Impact with a discus clothesline by mistake, leaving Impact open for Pentagon and Fenix to hit the foot stomp/Fear Factor combination for the win. Fenix got a clean pin over the champion. This match did a good job displaying Pentagon and Fenix’s synchronicity and the tension between Impact and Cage.

After the match, Cage and Impact blamed each other for losing. They pushed each other’s buttons until they came to blows, with them having a big pull-apart with security and the locker room coming out.

The show closed with Homecoming’s cold opening video. A lot of nostalgia footage from the Asylum years.

Overall, this was a good go-home show that touched on all previously announced matches and finished building up Homecoming card.
