WWE NXT live results: Three championship bouts

A slate of title matches is set for tonight’s episode of WWE NXT on The CW Network.

In his first defense since becoming NXT Champion, Oba Femi defends against Eddy Thorpe in tonight’s main event. Femi won the title from Trick Williams at New Year’s Evil two weeks ago in a triple threat match that also included Thorpe. Now Femi and Thorpe will attempt to settle their issues one-on-one.

Ridge Holland gets his shot at the men’s NXT North American Championship tonight when he challenges Tony D’Angelo. The Heritage Cup will also be on the line as Lexis King and Charlie Dempsey once again face off for the trophy.

Plus, new NXT Women’s Champion Giulia will make an appearance following her victory at New Year’s Evil. She dethroned Roxanne Perez to win the title.

We’ll see if WWE has any follow-up tonight after Perez was confronted by Bayley last week.

NXT North American Champion Tony D’Angelo (with The Family) defeated Ridge Holland to retain his title

Lots of closed fist punches back and forth from the start. The match goes through a commercial break with a split-screen. As the show cuts to commercial, out comes Shawn Spears.

During the break, Holland posted D’Angelo twice. Holland then smacked an arm on the ring post, and Holland went to work on the arm. Holland is working the arm as the show returns from the break.

D’Angelo makes a comeback, and “The Don” gets a near fall with a fisherman’s buster suplex. Slugfest starts again, before D’Angelo is dropped on his head. “The Don” still comes back with a spear. Spears soon gets involved in the match.

Spears jumps on the apron and gets punched by D’Angelo. That brings out Spear’s goons, which includes Brooks Jensen and Niko Vance. They brawl with The Family at ringside. That takes the referee’s attention away from the the ring.

That allowed Izzi Dame to suddenly interfere, after she got in the ring. She boots Holland in the face with a high kick. D’Angelo delivers a spinebuster, and he covers Holland for a three count. Dame at ringside says she and “The Don” are now even.

A locker room skit sets up two singles matches for Wes Lee. One against Dion Lennox for tonight, and another next week with Trick Williams. In the skit, Williams gives Lee an open hand slap.

Bayley is up next for a monologue. Her and Roxanne Perez has an altercation in a cliffhanger angle from last week. Bayley is here to address that.

Bayley said she was there last week to talk with Perez, because Bayley cares about all that Perez has done. That that got her was a slap in the face.

Bayley goes on to talk about Perez confronted her from the front row on Raw and Smackdown. At some point, Bayley name drops Giulia. So, out comes Giulia to join Bayley.

Giulia says Perez may not look up to Bayley, but Giulia herself does. Bayley and Giulia sing each other’s praises until they are interrupted by Cora Jade and Perez.

Both Perez and Jade cut promos on Bayley. Perez claims the current NXT exceeded anything the Four Horsewomen did, and that is really way Bayley is here. That ignites a brawl, and the fight is on. The heels powder as Bayley and Giulia stand tall. This angle clearly sets up a tag team match.

Cut to the women’s locker room, where Kelani Jordan is arguing with Jaida Parker. Karmen Peterovic wants to calm them down since she is in love now.

Cut back to ringside and the brawl between the two teams is on again.

Wes Lee defeated Dion Lennox

Lee pinned Lennox in a short match that was more of a backdrop for the angle that followed with Trick Williams. Lennox did get a close near fall, but Lee strikes with a Cardiac Kick. Lee then covers Lennox for a pinfall.

Lee in a post-match promo says he is going to handle Trick next week since Trick slapped him earlier. That brings out Trick, and he is a house of fire. Williams drops Tyson Dupont and Tyriek Igwe, who both were at ringside with Lee.

Trick then storms into the ring and lays out Lee. Trick grabs the microphone and accepts the challenge for next week at Center Stage in Atlanta.

Lexis King is the focus of a video package, and he defends the Heritage Cup up next.

But first, an interview with Stephanie Vaquer. Sarah Schreiber conducts the interview. Vaquer cuts a decent promo. It is not her fault they do not have her in a focused angle.

This match got a lot of time, but that was somewhat a given with the round system. The match went through a commercial break, and they did a fall during the break. When the show returned from the break, Vic Joseph on commentary remarked how that shows you have to pay attention during the split-screen break.

King is saved by the bell in the first round. Dempsey applied a crossface chicken wing that would make Bob Backlund proud. Time runs out on the round with King still locked in the hold. The closing moments of this round were really good.

A camera shot shows brass knuckles in King’s corner as the show cuts to commercial. That is when they did the finish during the break. King scores a pin he counters a sunset flip into a pinfall. King is up 1-0.

Dempsey evens the score in round 3, as Dempsey scores pin using a butterfly suplex. Between rounds, King teases using the brass knux. But he thinks better of it.

Later on, King fires up and leaps over the ropes with a flip dive on No Quarter Catch Crew. They go back-and-forth in the closing moments. After deciding against the knux, King still wins with a heel move. King with a mule kick low blow, and the ref didn’t see it. King then executed the Coronation, and King scores the deciding pinfall.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Bianca Belair & Naomi cut promos on Meta-Girls (Lash Legend & Jakara Jackson). Next week in Atlanta, Meta-Girls challenge for the tag titles in a featured match.

Karmen Petrovic enters with her love interest, Ashante “Thee” Adonis. Petrovic has a match up next.

Andre Chase is followed around in a skit, but he is depressed. Some trainees are watching old Chase promos, but Chase is still super depressed.

Karmen Petrovic defeated Jaida Parker

Petrovic rolled up Parker to score the pin, after interference by Kelani Jordan. Parker looked strong throughout much of the match.

Jordan shows up and she goes to slap Parker, but Parker blocks the slap. The referee is right there the whole time, but somehow this is not a disqualification. Petrovic then rolls up Parker, and the referee counts the pin.

A locker room skit has Sol Ruca and Zaria talking with Meta-Girls. Tatum Paxley and Gigi Dolan are also there. This was a waste of time I will never get back.

Brooks Jensen & Niko Vance defeated Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo & Luca Crusifino

Vance pinned Stacks to win the match. For the finish, Jensen with a somersault kick and Vance follows up with a lariat. Stacks does a flip to sell it, and Vance covers him for the pinfall. This was a great way to introduce Niko Vance.

NXT Tag Team Champions Nathan Frazier & Axiom are being interviewed by Sarah Schreiber. Josh Briggs & Yoshiki Inamura interrupt the interview. Briggs is upset they went to TNA when Briggs claims they had “next” up. This did not go anywhere as the director cuts away to a brawl happening backstage. Then, the show cuts to commercial.

More melodrama after the break, this time within The Family. Stacks is upset that “The Don” was not out there with them. D’Angelo responds that Stacks has been Underboss for a while now. He needs to figure it out on his own. “The Don” then leaves.

Ethan Page is cutting a sadistic promo on Je’Von Evans in a video package sponsored by an insurance company. Would have made sense if it was medical insurance, but it was automobile insurance.

Evans is then in GM Ava’s office. Evans is still selling his jaw, but he wants a match with Page. Ava says he is still hurt, which he clearly is selling like he is hurt. Evans can barely talk. Ava then brings in Cedric Alexander, who is booked against Page in a match next week at Center Stage.

In comes Austin Theory & Grayson Waller. Apparently, next week at Center Stage is “The Grayson Waller Effect” in Atlanta. What have we done to deserve this?

Oba Femi is heading to the ring for his match when he crosses paths with Trick Williams backstage. They exchange glances just before the show cuts to a commercial break.

After show returns from the break, Diamond Dallas Page is shown sitting front row ringside.

NXT Champion Oba Femi defeated Edddy Thorpe to retain his title

This wasn’t Flair-Steamboat, but thank goodness it wasn’t another skit. It was actually pretty good too, especially by the end. At least for action. Psychology might be another story.

For a champion who’s nickname is “The Ruler”, Femi ends up selling a lot. Maybe too much, but as champ I guess he has to give the illusion he might lose. Him selling so much takes away from his aura. Thorpe cuts off Femi before the show’s final commercial break, and Femi is in peril during much of the picture-in-picture. Why is Femi fighting from underneath?

Back from the commercial break, and comeback by Femi. Led to a near falls after Femi delivers a spinebuster. Thorpe counters an attempted chokeslam with a triangle. Femi tries to power out, but Thorpe counters that into a hurricanrana. Two count for Thorpe.

Thorpe again counters Femi. This time Thorpe uses a stunner after blocking a suplex attempt. Thorpe climbs to the top rope and he leaps off with a mighty flying elbow drop. Near fall.

Thorpe and Femi trade strikes and moves. Femi goes off his feet after Thorpe gives him a snap German suplex. Thorpe goes for another flying elbow, but Femi blocks it to deliver a chokeslam. Thorpe gets a shoulder up to break the count at two and three quarters.

Femi posted himself on a missed charge in a corner. Femi looks to be in trouble, until he tossed Thorpe across the ring. Femi then executes his pop-up powerbomb, and Femi covers Thorpe for a pinfall.

The psychology seemed way off in this match, but the work itself was really good. Grayson Waller & Austin Thoery were watching from a perch overlooking the ring. They are trying to jaw with Femi. Meanwhile, Trick Williams is in the ring to confront Femi.

Williams then drops Thorpe when Thorpe goes for a cheap shot. Williams an Femi are face-to-face as the show goes off the air.

WWE NXT live results: The fallout from New Year’s Evil

With new champions crowned, the fallout from New Year’s Evil takes place on WWE NXT tonight.

It’s a new era with NXT Champion Oba Femi and NXT Women’s Champion Giulia now at the top of their divisions. Tonight, Oba Femi will appear for the first time as champion. We’ll see if either Trick Williams or Eddy Thorpe want a shot at the title following last week’s triple threat.

A “special look” at Giulia is set to air tonight. Roxanne Perez — who dropped the NXT Women’s Championship to Giulia — will appear tonight and address her future.

An NXT Tag Team title match is part of the card with Axiom & Nathan Frazer defending against Bronco Nima & Lucien Price.

Plus, there will be a pair of number one contender’s matches. Stephanie Vaquer faces Shotzi with a Women’s North American Championship shot on the line. And Lash Legend & Jakara Jackson vs. Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn determines the next challengers for the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles.

NXT is back at its regular home on a sound stage at the Performance Center in Orlando, where NXT is filmed before a live studio audience.

Opening the show is new NXT Champion Oba Femi, who enters and takes center stage in the ring with his title belt over his shoulder. Femi talks about taking his rightful place on the throne. Femi mocks past speeches about others not believing they would accomplish it, but Femi always knew he would become champion.

Since day one, Femi was backed by dynasty. Femi runs down his accolades in NXT, liking it him being backed by dynasty. And he was backed by dynasty when he won the NXT Chamionship. All of this is now his, dubbing himself “The Ruler” of NXT.

The crowd almost ruins the moment with a “you deserve it” chant, as Femi shifts to Trick Williams. Femi at first puts over Trick as the former champion, until saying Trick has a ceiling. Femi boasts he has no ceiling. As for Eddy Thorpe, he “is a real of work, isn’t he?” Femi likens him to a bug that will not die. Femi issues a “final warning” to Thorpe, telling him to go annoy someone else in the locker room.

NXT North American Champion Tony D’Angelo interrupts Femi, because hardly any monologue in NXT can go interrupted. Unless you are The Rock, and only The Rock. Anyway, “The Don” congratulates Femi on getting the big seat, but D’Angelo took exception to Femi noting he was the longest reigning North American champ. D’Angelo reminds Femi that “The Don” is the only person he has not beat, and D’Angelo says if they met that he would leave as “The Double Title Don.” This how you know Vince is indeed gone for good. The use of the word “title” in a nickname.

Femi mentions that D’Angelo got knocked out by Santa Claus, and D’Angelo says he will take care of Ridge Holland. Speak of the devil. Holland then interrupts to taunt D’Angelo with a photograph from the Santa incident. D’Angelo sarcastically says he’ll sign the photo as he exits the ring, heading towards Holland. They met up and a melee ensues. As they brawl at ringside, in runs Eddy Thorpe to ambush Femi. Thorpe is booed by the crowd, as he DDT’d Femi. Thorpe then wraps a strap around his fist. The kind of strap used in a strap match. Thorpe punches Femi with what I guess is supposed to be a loaded fist, but it was just a strap around his fist. Thorpe then grabs the title belt, and he poses with it as he stands over Femi.

A backstage skit sets up Ethan Page against Dante Chen for later tonight.

NXT is on the road at Center Stage Theater in Atlanta on January 28. The famed Center Stage was the site of countless television tapings for WCW beginning in 1989 through the mid-90s. ROH also taped television at Center Stage in the Sinclair days.

Shotzi defeated Stephanie Vaquer to become number one contender to the NXT Women’s North American Championship

Shotzi pinned Vaquer after outside interference from NXT Women’s North American Champion Fallon Henley. Jacy Jayne also interfered during the match, but she got a double headbutt for her trouble. Henley hit Vaquer with a belt shot, and Shotzi cradled Vaquer for the pinfall.

The match went through a commercial break. While there was a number one contender’s match last week, there was another this week. Why not? Vaquer won a shot last week, and somehow lost that title shot this week. Unless this sets up a triple threat, because that is not overdone at all in the slightest. The champ did cost Vaquer the match with outside interference.

Kelani Jordan slaps Cora Jade in a backstage skit. This would seem to set up a singles match between the two, as Jordan keeps teasing a heel turn.

Ethan Page defeated Dante Chen

Page pinned Chen in what was more of an angle than a match. Page jumped Chen before the bell, and Chen hardly had a chance. Chen did get some offense as he fired up on Page, but Page cut him and nailed him with a cutter. Page then scored the pinfall. An injury angle after the match was longer than the match itself.

Page attacks Chen after the bell. Page drags him outside the ring, and Page pins Chen’s leg between the ring steps. Page then Pillmanizes the leg. Chen sells big, and Page smirks. Suddenly, Je’Von Evans then runs to to make a save. Evans peppers Page with punches, but one punch to Evan’s injured jaw drops him. Evans spits up blood as Page taunts him.

My CW feed was spotty for a bit during what appeared to be a backstage skit. The picture on my screen was in and out like a fiddler’s elbow, but I do believe Ashante “Thee” Adonis and Karmen Petrovic are courting again.

New NXT Women’s Champion Giulia is featured in a good video package.

Champions from the main roster are back in NXT, with DIY here for a cameo. Sarah Schreiber interviews the WWE Tag Team Champions Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano. They came “home” to NXT to see Fraxio, whom are being dubbed the greatest tag team in the history of NXT.

Meta-Girls (Jakara Jackson & Lash Legend) defeated Unholy Union (Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn) in a number one contenders’ tag team match

Legend pinned Fyre to win the match, and Meta-Girls become number one contenders for the NXT Tag Team Championship.

The tag match itself went through a commercial break, and then seemingly lasted forever. Meta-Girls did some cool tandem moves, including Legend picking up Jackson with a military press and then tossing Jackson on top of their foes.

As the match is winding down, Meta-Girls are on a roll when Legend spills outside when she is low-bridged over the top rope. Jackson has to play Ricky Morton until Legend gets back on the apron for a hot tag. Meta-Girls then execute a tandem cutter finisher, and Legend covers Fyre for a pinfall.

NXT General Manager Ava presents Lexis King with his version of the Heritage Cup trophy. Charlie Dempsey and Wren Sinclair confront King. There is some bad acting, which seems to set a rematch for the trophy. Loud banging noises distract everyone, and Ava goes to look outside where she finds Tony D’Angelo brawling with Ridge Holland.

TNA Knockouts Champion Masha Slamovich is seen watching the show from front row ringside. Later on, TNA Genesis is plugged on commentary.

Cora Jade defeated Kelani Jordan

Jade pinned Jordan to win the match. Jordan let her anger consume her, giving in to the dark side of the force. That, and a eye rake, cost Jordan the match.

Jordan continues to show a mean streak. Late in the match, she was super aggressive with Jade trapped in a corner. The referee a few times got between them to break it up. The last time as the ref is pushing Jordan away, Jade rakes Jordan’s eyes. Jordan is momentarily blinded, and Jade capitalizes with a double-arm DDT. Booker T on commentary referred to the DDT as “gnarly”, and he is not wrong.

Eddy Thorpe with a wicked promo he shot with his own cellphone. From there, the show cuts to a Red Cross PSA related to the wildfires in California. Odd transitional, but the video of the devastation is unbelievable.

Josh Briggs & Yoshiki Inamura confront Fraxiom in a backstage skit. The tag champs are getting ready for their match, but Briggs says he and Inamura “got next.” As Fraxiom is leaving, in walks OTM to confront Briggs & Inamura. They exchange words. In a comedy bit playing off the language barrier, Inamura thinks OTM (“Out the Mud”) are into mud wrestling. Fighting soon breaks out, leading to a pull-apart brawl. Seems to set up a tag match, but first OTM has another tag match in the main event.

Trick Williams tweeted that he needs to figure out his next move.

NXT Tag Team Champions Fraxiom (Nathan Frazer & Axiom) defeated OTM (Bronco Nima & Lucien Price) to retain their titles

Axiom pinned Nima to win the match. And still…

WWE Tag Team Champions DIY are seen watching the match from a perch overlooking the ring. Lots of high flying and tandem high spots from Fraxiom, and some cat-and-mouse against their larger foes. Nima & Price with power moves at times, and they look good. Fraxiom carries their match, but OTM hold their own well. The match begins to break down with all four fighting around the ring.

Outside the ring, Price looks to utilize the announce desk. Price clears the desk, but he gets cut off in the process. Meanwhile, Nima shoves Frazier off the ropes a few times as they were fighting atop the turnbuckles. Frazier manages to do a back flip and land on his feet, while Axiom makes a bling tag beforehand. Frazier climbs the turnbuckles in another corner, and Frazier jumps off the top rope with a flying body press on the announce desk, thus driving Price through the table. Meanwhile, Axiom with a Spanish Fly on Nima, and Axiom signals for a Golden Ratio. Axiom delivers the Ratio, and he hooks a leg to cover Nima for the deciding pinfall. Good match.

Roxanne Perez is headed to the ring for a monologue. Cut away to the parking lot where someone has arrived to the building. They get out but all we see is their feet as the show cuts to its final commercial break.

After the commercial break, Roxanne Perez is in the ring for a monologue. Perez begins by saying when she first won the NXT Women’s title for the second time (which is not bad math, as there was an angle), no one thought she would be champion for 276 days.

With every title defense she made history, and all she wanted to do was make women’s wrestling something special. She wanted NXT to be on a main event level, and this is the “best” women’s division in wrestling today. But her stands Perez without her title, because she was beaten last week.

Perez congratulates Giulia, and Perez says the people got what they wanted — which was Perez dropping the title. Perez then heels by saying what is most sad is what the NXT women’s division has become with Giulia as champion. The NXT women’s division is “lost” without Perez. She adds that neither NXT nor the fans deserve her.

Perez name-drops the Four Horsewomen, saying they needed four, but Perez only needs one (herself). That is the cue for Bayley to interrupt. She was the mystery person that arrived earlier in the show. Huge pop for Bayley, as she enters the sound stage to confront Perez.

Bayley tries to give Perez some advice, but Perez dismisses the advice. Bayley insists the division will be fine without them. Perez eventually cuts off Bayley, and Perez says Bayley is like all the others Perez used to look up to. Perez says Bayley broke records, but Perez broke those records. Perez sarcastically tells Bayley that now Perez should be Bayley’s role model. Bayley responds by saying Perez is going nowhere, while Bayley proclaims she will win the title on Friday. With that, they were running out of time. So, Perez slaps Bayley across the face, and a brawl ensues as the show abruptly goes off the air.

WWE NXT New Year’s Evil live results: Three title matches, The Rock appears

Continuing a big week for the company, WWE NXT is in Los Angeles tonight for its first episode of 2025.

NXT New Year’s Evil takes place from Shrine Expo Hall and will feature three championship matches. Iron Survivor Challenge winners Giulia and Oba Femi are both getting their title shots. Giulia is challenging Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women’s Championship, while the NXT Championship will be up for grabs in a triple threat between Trick Williams, Femi, and Eddy Thorpe.

The Heritage Cup Championship will also be contested in a rematch between Lexis King and Charlie Dempsey. It will be a sudden death round instead of the traditional multi-round format.

Fatal Influence (Fallon Henley, Jacy Jayne & Jazmyn Nyx) are set to compete in a six-woman tag team match as they take on Gigi Dolin, Tatum Paxley & Shotzi. And there will be a four-way bout between Stephanie Vaquer, Kelani Jordan, Cora Jade, and Lola Vice.

Plus, following his appearance on Raw’s Netflix premiere, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will be in the building for NXT tonight.

New Year’s Evil from inside the Shrine Auditorium in LA on the air, and various wrestlers are seen arriving to the building. That includes The Rock arriving in a pickup truck, and he gets out popping the top on a beverage just before putting his custom title belt over his shoulder.

Corey Graves is back on commentary in NXT for tonight, as he joins Vic Joseph and Booker T at the announce booth.

Opening the show is a women’s title match.

Giulia defeated NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez to win the title

Giulia pinned Perez clean to win the title, in what was a helluava match. Superb. Great opener.

Great wrestling from the start with counters and reversals. The mood shifts when Perez slaps Giulia across the face. Giulia fires up and answers back with a headbutt. The intensity picks up from there. Just before the show cuts to its first commercial break, Perez stomps on Giulia’s arm with Giulia draped on the bottom turnbuckle.

The show returns from the break with Perez executing a Frankensteiner off the ropes, and she gets a near falls on Giulia. They trade strikes, until Perez goes back to targeting the arm. Perez with a tope suicida. Moments later, Giulia has turned the tide. Giulia with a super butterfly suplex off the top rope. Great action here, and Giulia strikes with a sit-out tombstone piledriver.

Perez counters Giulia, and Perez locks in a crossface. Perez breaks the hold and goes for Pop Rocks, but Giulia escapes, only to eat a dropkick as the action spills outside. At ringside, Giulia drops Perez with a Northern Lights Bomb on the floor. They tease a double count-out. Cora Jade runs down to ringside, and she rolls Perez into the ring. Somehow this is not a DQ, and referee keeps counting on Giulia, who barely breaks the count.

As they go home, Perez applies a Fujiwara armbar. Giulia escapes the hold, and she hits Perez with a knee strike. Giulia follows up with a Northern Lights Bomb, and Giulia hooks a leg for a three count. And new…

Eddy Thorpe was supposedly injured as the victim of another sneak attack, but this is like the boy that cried wolf. NXT GM Ava does not believe him this time, and she leaves his laying there selling for the trainers.

A video package has Je’Von Evans speaking through clinched teeth, as he vows revenge on Ethan Page. Evans jaw is wired shut after he head was Pillmanized by Page in an angle from late-December.

Stephanie Vaquer defeated Kelani Jordan, Cora Jade and Lola Vice in a fatal four-way match to become the number one contender for the NXT Women’s North American Championship

Vaquer pinned Jordan to win the match. Plethora of high spots and fast-paced sequences throughout the match, but especially in the closing moments. Vaquer does a dive to the floor, followed by Jordan doing a moonsault off the top turnbuckle to the floor.

Just before the finish, Vice takes a knee from Jade. Vice falls outside. Jade takes an Olympic slam from Jordan, and Jordan climbs to the top rope. 450 splash, but no water in the pool. Vaquer follows up, and she executes her finisher on Jordan. Vaguer then scores a pinfall.

In a backstage skit, Oba Femi admits to Ava that he did in fact attack Thorpe. Ava still seems indifferent.

A video package sponsored by an insurance company features OTM cutting a promo on NXT Tag Team Champions Nathan Frazier & Axiom. The two teams meet next Tuesday in a tag title match.

Gigi Dolin, Tatum Paxley & Shotzi defeated Fatal Influence (NXT Women’s North American Champion Fallon Henley, Jacy Jayne & Jaxmyn Nyx) in a six-women tag team match

Shotzi pinned Henley to win the match, which may set up Shotzi as a potential challenger.

The match goes through a commercial break. Breakneck pace just before cutting to commercials, and everybody is down selling when the show cuts away. Back from the break, and they are working over Paxley. Hot tag to Dolan.

For the finish, Shotzi tags in for some tandem moves. Paxley also helps with double-team moves. Her and Dolan jump off the apron with stereo quebradas. Meanwhile, Shotzi with a senton bomb on Henley. Shotzi goes on to cover the North American Champion for a pinfall.

Ethan Page is arguing with Ava in a backstage skit, as Page is upset like Dennis Stamp. He is not booked. In walks The Rock, and he interrupts Page. Rock and Page meet and shake hands. Rock has heard some things about Page, and it was not all good.

Rock brings up Page breaking someone’s jaw, and Rock tells Page that payback willl be a bitch. Nonetheless, Rock tells Page to that he can come to him if needs anything. Rock goes to give Page a warning about Rock’s daughter Ava, although she is never referred to as his daughter on television. Rock tells Page he will see him on the main roster, and Rock slaps Page on the buttocks like an old school football coach.

Rock then asks Ava for advice with the crowd. Sure, like he needs it. Ava tells him the NXT crowds are different. Rock says he will speak from the heart.

Lexis King defeated Heritage Cup Champion Charlie Dempsey (with No Quarter Catch Crew) to win the trophy

King pinned Dempsey in what was a good match. This show has yet to have a bad match. Really good so far.

The match goes through a commercial break. They traded submission holds at times. They also traded stiff strikes. They collides together a few times. The second time, Dempsey went for a leap frog. King inadvertently headbutts Dempsey in the groin. Dempsey sells big. King then delivers The Coronation, and King covers Dempsey for a three count.

A backstage skit sets up a number one contender match between Shotzi and Stephanie Vaquer. That is set for next week.

Oba Femi defeated NXT Champion Trick Williams and Eddy Thorpe in a triple threat match to win the title

Femi pinned Williams, thanks to some unintentional help from Thorpe. Good match, but the subplot with Thorpe detracted from the fight between Femi and Williams. However, Thorpe’s involvement allows Trick to save face despite the finish.

No Eddy Thorpe to start the match, and it begins as a singles match with Trick squaring off with Oba. Thorpe would run in later to join the match. Not long after the start of the match, the show cuts to a commercial break.

When the show returns from the break, Thorpe is making his way through the backstage area, and Thorpe is wielding a metal folding chair. Meanwhile, Femi and Williams are having a slugfest in the ring.

Trick gives Femi a Rock Bottom off the middle rope for a near fall. They continue to trade strikes. Trick fires up and is on a roll, until Femi blocks Trick’s knee strike finisher. They go on to trade near falls. Trick counters Femi’s finisher, and Trick lands a big boot for yet another near fall.

Sit-out powerbomb by Femi on Trick, followed by a cover. Thorpe suddenly appears a ringside, where Thorpe pulls the referee out of the ring to break up a pin. Thorpe still has the chair. Femi with biel throw, brings Thorpe into the ring. Femi then mauls Thorpe, beating him from pillar to post. Thorpe got nothing.

Great false finish as Trick lands his jumping knee strike out of nowhere, but Femi kicks out. Trick measures for another kick, but Femi dodges and Trick is hit by Thorpe with a chair. Pop-up powerbomb by Femi, and he covers Williams for a pinfall. And new…

Rock closes the show

Closing the show is an appearance by The Rock. Huge pop of course. Rock shake hands and interacts with the fans in attendance on his way to the ring. His entrance took forever, and the crowd chanted his name once the music finally stopped blaring over the house speakers.

Rock has goosebumps and he shows them off as he paces around the ring. Rock even talks about having chills as he begins his promo. He pauses so the crowd can chant his name again. Rock looks towards the timekeeper, and says we have six minutes left. He has hardly begun to speak yet.

Rock says he has a lot of nicknames, and he talks about a few. He also does some catchphrases. Rock says the crowd is feeling it, and they need to help The Rock out. Rock addresses the hug with Cody Rhodes the night before on Raw. Rock mocks the fans for having a problem with it. Rock says to shut your mouth and enjoy the ride he is taking them on.

Rock keeps cursing and keeps getting bleeped out. He does apologize for the language after saying they have a few minutes left. Rock says he wanted to go see NXT, but Rock did not know what to say.

Rock wants to tell the fans something important, which wants to thank them. He puts over the fans for coming to NXT, and the crowd chants “N-X-T.” Rock tells the fans they are important to the show. Rock talks about depending on the crowd. Rock says he loves NXT and does his “can you smell” catchphrase as the show goes off the air. What a haphazard promo that went nowhere.

WWE NXT live results: Kelani Jordan vs. Lola Vice, year-end awards

The final televised pro wrestling show of 2024 has arrived with tonight’s WWE NXT which will feature the brand’s year-end awards.

Former NXT Women’s North American Champion Kelani Jordan will take on the hard-hitting Lola Vice. Jordan made her presence felt last week by attacking Cora Jade with a kendo stick after Jade’s loss to Stephanie Vaquer.

Former NXT Champion Ethan Page will be in action against Cedric Alexander. Page has experienced an attitude change as of late after bloodying up Je’Von Evans to send a brutal message.

Wes Lee, Tyson Dupont & Tyriek Igwe will take on Andre Chase, Hank Walker & Tank Ledger.

In a three-way tag team match made after the chaotic events of last year’s show, Lash Legend & Jakara Jackson will face Gigi Dolin & Shotzi, and Kayden Carter & Katana Chance.

After Izzi Dame interrupted a Sol Ruca backstage conversation with Zaria last night, Dame and Ruca will go one-on-one to round out the show.

NXT returns to the Performance Center and Kelani Jordan is the first person out to close out 2024 with her match against Lola Vice.

Kelani Jordan defeated Lola Vice

Jordan started off strong with a headlock takeover before Vice escaped and Jordan landed a crossbody for 2. Vice recovered to grind away with a camel clutch before they each exchange armbars on the mat while Booker T quotes MC Hammer. Vice took Jordan down in the corner with a series of kicks before landing a hip attack. Vice hit a three amigos before landing some kneeling kicks, but eating a slick kick from Jordan to even things up.

Jordan landed a series of rope-bound strikes to Vice before Vice snatched a rear naked choke before Jordan slammed her in the corner and then sat back to break it up. Cora Jade ran down and Jordan ran Vice into her before a Backlund Bridge wins it for Jordan. Stephanie Vaquer went to attack Jade, but Vice accidentally backfisted Vaquer when Jade moved.

An NXT Match of the Year nominee video package aired with Femi vs. Briggs vs. Dijak winning. A Fatal Influence hear no evil/see no evil/speak no evil video package airs to hype up New Year’s Evil. An NXT Spotlight video airs with Giulia hyping up Roxanne Perez as a worthy NXT Women’s Champion – but she needs to put her own name in the history books like Asuka and Charlotte while clips from MARIGOLD air. The NXT Moment of the Year is Joe Hendry being in NXT while being a TNA Wrestling roster member.

Sarah Schreiber interviewed Cedric Alexander about facing Ethan Page tonight and Je’von’s jaw was wired shut and the goal is for him to eat solid food – let alone get back in the ring and he’ll take his anger out on Page before Page tells him that he wished the texts warned him about Page before he takes him out and puts him next to Evans. They brawled out to the ring and their match is going on right now instead of later.

Ethan Page defeated Cedric Alexander

Alexander started off heavy with a slugfest and stomping a mudhole in Page in the corner. Page landed a corner combo before eating a dropkick to the knee and a basement dropkick to the neck for 2. Lowpe from Alexander hit hard on the floor but Page landed a codebreaker “to tha snout” according to Booker T for 2 before a dropkick landed another 2 for Page. Alexander landed a snap Michinoku Driver for 2 before falling to a Page cutter. After the match, Page grabbed a toolbox and slammed it on Alexander’s hand.

Tyreik and Tyson chat with Hank and Tank about wanting the tag gold before Wes Lee and Shawn Spears intervene and Spears left Hank and Tank high and dry. Shotzi and Gigi Dolin are out for a women’s triple threat tag match.

Jakara Jackson & Lash Legend defeated Shotzi & Gigi Dolin and Katana Chance & Kayden Carter in a triple threat tag

Dolin and Carter start off hot with a basement superkick by Carter. Legend came in and tosses Carter off her back before hoisting Carter up in a Backlund lift. Chance and Carter took Legend down and got 1 off a Chance cover. Shotzi and Jackson went at it quickly with a butterfly suplex getting 2 for Jackson. Gigi came in and both she and Shotzi landed a series of attacks to Jackson. Shotzi got the cloverleaf on, but Jackson got to the rope.

Carter landed a big boot to Dolin before Chance hits a rana to the floor and she and Carter land a stereo dive to Dolin and Shotzi. Carter landed a basement superkick to Legend before Chance goes into the drop zone for 2 before everyone breaks it up. Jackson landed a missile dropkick to Chance before Carter blind tagged in and ate a dropkick from Jackson. Dolin hit an enzuiguri and set up a dive from Shotzi that landed short. Legend and Jackson set up a shoulder-walking dive to the floor that hits before a Dolin crucifix bomb got 2.5. Jayne distracted Dolin and the Meta Girls hit a double-team cutter for the win.

Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre chat about the Meta Girls and brag about beating them before getting gold back. Backstage, Lola and Stephanie argue before Kelani Jordan stirs things up. Eva puts Cora Jade in a fatal 4-way at New Year’s Evil. Backstage, Lexis King chats with Eva and she says it’s a grey area if he can win it via DQ and at New Year’s Evil, there will be a sudden death rematch and Lexis hands the cup back to Eva. NXT Tag Team of the Year Award goes to Fraxiom, who bring up being rivals and now being friends. Zaria and Sol Ruca chat backstage before Ruca’s match and we get a little look at some WWE ID signings in the crowd.

Izzi Dame defeated Sol Ruca

Ruca got an armdrag and drop toehold off a long collar-and-elbow tieup. Ruca ties her up on the corner and rides her like a surfboard. I think I saw Nick Bockwinkel do that on the AWA back in the day. Dame sidestepped the Sol Snatcher for 2. Zaria came down to give Ruca some moral support before Ruca hits a springboard spinning shoulderblock. Ruca corner high kick hits and a moonsault met the knees of Dame. Ruca wanted a moonsault off the top to the floor but Dame put Zaria in the path of it! The I-Drive/Sky High hit and gave Dame the win. Spears looked on menacingly.

The NXT Women’s Superstar of the Year is Roxanne Perez and she says she’s brought people from all over the world – Mexico, Japan, and TNA, and no one can stop her. Andre Chase came out for Hank and Tank!

Dupont slugged away on Tank before Igwe tagged in and ate some offense on Tank. Chase ran in for a corner forearm before Tank landed a corner charge. Hank and Tank would have been a riot in Memphis with Lance Russell calling their matches. Igwe stomped away on Tank before Tank hit a spinebuster and Chase landed a swanton dive to the floor. Lee went for a satellite DDT on Hank but turned into a front choke before eating an overhead belly to belly and a northern lights suplex and then a giant suplex by Hank!

Tank comes in and ran wild and slugged Igwe on the apron and a cartwheel clothesline! Lee landed a superkick on the floor to take down Tank. Chase slugged away on Igwe mid-ring before hitting a Russian legsweep. Chase wanted the Chase U stomps, but fell into a deep depression and tagged out before walking out on Hank. Hank got a schoolboy but ate a Lee high kick and Igwe landed a stunner to win it.

Ashantee tried to call Carmen Petrovic and it goes right to voicemail and he expresses his love for her and says he misses her. Nikkita Lyons chats him up and he turns her down. Spears congratulates Dame before Tony D tells him to get away from her. Andre Chase told Kale Dixon backstage that Chase U is dead before Oba Femi came out to accept the Male Superstar of the Year award before saying it really doesn’t matter and he is the captain now and you can see him win the title at New Year’s Evil.

Trick Williams came down to show the fans some love like they’ve done for him and Femi is beatable – and because he is so beatable, that’s why they have a triple threat. Thorpe smashed the award on Trick’s head and held the title high. This was a solid by-the-numbers build towards New Year’s Evil – but Oba Femi came off as the biggest star of the three in the closing segment.

WWE NXT live results: Christmas Chaos four-way tag

On the night before Christmas, WWE NXT will decide new Tag Team title number one contenders.

A Christmas Chaos fatal four-way tag match is taking place on tonight’s Christmas Eve edition of NXT. It will be Bronco Nima & Lucien Price vs. Myles Borne & Tavion Heights vs. Hank Walker & Tank Ledger vs. Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo & Luca Crusifino — with the winning team getting a future shot at NXT Tag Team Champions Nathan Frazier & Axiom.

The Heritage Cup will be contested tonight as Lexis King continues his quest to win the trophy from Charlie Dempsey and prove that he’s worthy of everyone’s respect.

Main roster stars Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn are back in NXT tonight for a showdown against Jacy Jayne & Jazmyn Nyx of Fatal Influence. Plus, Stephanie Vaquer gets her hands on Cora Jade in a grudge match.

This taped episode of NXT was prerecorded from the Lowell Memorial Auditorium in Lowell, MA. The show was taped after the live episode last Tuesday.

From the start, the vibe is that of a taped show. The atmosphere is dampened compared to the live episode from last week. The lighting in the background is festive for Christmas Eve, with red and green colors for this episode.

Santa Claus arrives to start this episode, as he enters the ringside area. Santa waves to the live crowd ahead of the opening match.

Stephanie Vaquer defeated Cora Jade

Vaquer pinned Jade after a package neckbreaker. Kelani Jordan runs in to jump Jade in a post-match attack.

The match goes through a commercial break. Jade with a rough backstabber just before the show cuts to a commercial break. The match continues after the break, with Vaquer making a comeback. Vaquer gets a near fall, and Jade tries to cut her off. Vaquer hits her with a forearm, and Vaquer picks up Jade for a package neckbacker. Vaquer then covers Jade for a three count.

Kelani Jordan ran in after the match with a kendo stick. Jordan ambushes Jade and repeatedly hits her with the kendo stick. Vaquer had left the ring, and she rushes back in to pull Jordan off Jade.

NXT North American Champion Tony D’Angelo is alongside The Family as they cut promos ahead of their match tonight. Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo has beef with Santa Claus, because someone dressed as Santa apparently tried to steal presents from him as a kid. His mom ran the thief off with a broom, or something like that. Not sure what to make of that, except it may have something to do with the Santa seen earlier on the show. Anyway, Stacks also vows he and Luca Crusifino will win the tag titles.

William Regal talks with Lexis King in a backstage skit. Regal says he admires King, and Regal wants to be in his corner. Regal asks King if he is going to do it, and King responds by saying he is going to win the Heritage Cup tonight. KIng walks away, and Regal says that is not what is was asking, while Regal reveals he brass knux on his hand. This is a bit of foreshadowing ahead of the next match.

The situation with Regal, King and the knux relates to a story from a few months ago. In a previous match, King refused to use the knux after Regal tried to smuggle them into the ring. King would go to lose that match.

Lexis King (with William Regal) defeated NXT Heritage Cup Champion Charlie Dempsey (with Wren Sinclair) to win the trophy

Dempsey is disqualified in the fourth round, so King wins the match and the Cup. Regal gets involved in the match, and his involvement ends up costing Dempsey the match. There is a father-son dynamic there, but that is not part of the storyline so far.

No falls in the first round, and the bell awkwardly rand to end round one. The action was more intense in the second round, but still no falls. Dempsey stomps on King after the bell sounds to end round two. Round three supposedly all took place during a commercial break, and no falls.

They return from the commercial break with the start of round four. Dempsey and King collide and bonk heads. Double down as both are out on their feet. Wren Sinclair frantically tries to revive Dempsey. The referee is distracted by Sinclair getting into the ring, and Regal puts the brass knux in King’s hand. King revives and sees the knux. He gets to his feet and tries handing the knux back to Regal. Instead, Regal decks King with a left hand, and King drops like a stone.

The knux go bouncing around the mat. Dempsey picks them up and puts the knux on his hand. The ref turns around to see Dempsey with the knux, and King laid out on the mat. The ref disqualifies Dempsey just times runs out on the round. King wins via disqualification after having won 1-0. And new…

OTM (Bronco Nima & Lucien Price) cut a promo vowing to win tag team titles, after they first win the fatal four-way tag match later tonight.

Kelani Jordan is angry with Stephanie Vaquer and Lola Vice in a backstage skit. Jordan rants at them about Cora Jade.

Unholy Union (Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn) defeated Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne & Jazmyn Nyx with NXT Women’s North American Champion Fallon Henley)

Dawn pinned Jayne to win the match, thanks in part to an assist from Gigi Dolan. There is also a distraction from another main card tag team that has returned to NXT.

The tag bout goes through a commercial break. Much to the chagrin of Fatal Influence, the trio of Gigi Dolan, Tatum Paxley and Shotzi enter the ringside area just before the show cuts to the break. Kayden Carter & Katana Chance also come down to ringside at some point.

Just before the match goes home, Nyz and Henley confront Carter and Chance at ringside. That left Jayne alone in the ring. Jayne is climbing the ropes when she is shoved off by Gigi Dolan. The Unholy Union then executes a tandem finisher on Jayne, and Dawn covers Jayne for the pinfall.

Tavion Heights and Myles Borne talk ahead of their fatal four-way.

Zaria is talking with Sol Ruca when they are interrupted by Izzi Dame. She is then interrupted by Shawn Spears, who is trying to recruit her into his faction. Dame is repulsed by Spears. I was repulsed by how they have dropped the ball with Zaria. She is just a regular character in silly skits, after debuting with a monster push.

Ashante “Thee” Adonis defeated Dion Lennox

Adonis pinned Lennox after reversing an O’Connor roll. This match played off a skit from the prior episode. The match was not long, but it also somehow took forever.

Nikkita Lyons comes to ringside during the match, playing into an ongoing love triangle. And so are the days of our lives, as the world turns. Lyons interferes late in the match, as she puts Adonis’ foot on the rope to break a count. Lennox had delivered a powerslam and went for the cover when Lyons put Adonis’ foot on the bottom rope.

For the finish, Lennox catches Adonis with an O’Connor roll. Adonis counters the roll-up, and Adonis bridges backwards to cover Lennox for a three count.

Hank Walker & Tank Ledger cut a silly promo ahead of the fatal four-way later on. I have seen far more serious promos from The Bushwhackers.

Gigi, Shotzi, &Tatum get into an argument backstage with Lash Legend & Jakara Jackson. They all try yelling over each other.

A promotional tie-in with an insurance company features a video package highlighting NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez. This hype video also builds interest in the next title match for Perez, when she defends against Giulia at New Year’s Evil.

Sarah Schreiber interviews Lexis King, and King boasts about winning the Heritage Cup by being a man of integrity. King says he did not short-cuts to win. There is indeed an irony there.

In a vignette, Ethan Page cuts a sinister promo on Je’Von Evans.

OTM (Bronco Nima & Lucien Price) defeated The D’Angelo Family (Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo & Luca Crusifino) and No Quarter Catch Crew (Myles Borne & Tavion Heights) and Hank Walker & Tank Ledger in a Christmas Chaos fatal four-way tag team match to determine number one contenders

Price pinned Stacks to win the match. Santa Claus causes a distraction at ringside by giving Tony D’Angelo a DDT on the floor. Santa Claus then reveals himself to be Ridge Holland.

Tornado rules with lots of weapons and gimmicks. Some of the gimmicks relate to the holiday, like a Christmas tree and large ornaments hanging from the ropes. Plenty of comedy spots that are lighthearted, yet still violent. Likewise, Tank takes a low blow when an ornament is used like a bowling ball.

Stacks takes a bump through a table set up at ringside. Just before the show cuts to commercial break, Borne executes a cool cutter out of nowhere on Price. After the they return from the break, kendo sticks wrapped up like candy canes come into play.

Metal folding chairs are not exactly festive, but they also come into play often in the match. The chairs are used as weapons, along with them taking bumps on the chairs. Borne takes a nasty bump on the chair with a spinebuster. OTM then hip-tosses Borne through a table set up in a corner.

Hank & Tank run wild, until they are attacked at ringside by Tyson Dupont & Tyriek Igwe. The two teams brawl their way down the aisle and through the curtain.

NXT North American Champion Tony D’Angelo gifts his guys presents, which includes crowbars wrapped like candy canes. They use the crowbars to hit their opponents. Then, Stacks & Crusifino execute a Shatter Machine on Price. Nima has to make a save to break up a pin.

Suddenly at ringside, Santa Clause gets up from his seat. Santa ambushes “The Don”, and Santa gives D’Aneglo an implant DDT on the floor. Santa would soon reveal himself as Ridge Holland, who is in a title program with D’Angelo) OTM capitalizes in the ring, as they neutralize Crusifino. Stacks takes an assisted spinebuster, and Price cradles Stacks for the deciding pinfall. OTM are the new number one contenders to the tag titles, and they earn a shot for the titles at New Year’s Evil.

NXT Champon Trick Williams is heading to the ring to close out the show with a monologue. Of course, Trick is soon interrupted, since there is hardly ever a monologue in NXT without an interruption. This time the interruption was abrupt, as Trick barely spoke when Oba Femi enters to confront the champion. Before Femi can say much, out comes Eddy Thorpe. They could likely have been pressed for time, as this all seemed to rush through much of this.

Thorpe gets in the ring alongside Femi and the champion. Thorpe cuts a promo on Trick, and Trick is responding until Femi interjects. Femi and Thorpe bicker over who deserves a title match. Trick tells them both to shut up. Trick then books himself in a triple threat match for New Year’s Evil, where he will defend against both challengers. Terrible logic here, but such is life. One guess which guy is dropping the fall, and it is probably not the champion, nor is he the guy getting a monster push.

Out comes NXT General Manager Ava, who says she signs off on the triple threat match. That makes the title bout official for New Year’s Evil. Thorpe jumps Femi with a sucker punch, and a melee ensues. Femi knocks down both Trick and Thorpe. Femi in runs wild with a series of elbows smashes. Femi follows up by giving Trick a pop-up powerbomb, and Femi tries doing the same with Thorpe. However, Thorpe counters to escape. Thorpe powders. Femi then grabs the NXT title belt and poses with it as the credits roll.

So, a triple threat match. How original. Also, a reminder that Trick Williams is the brand’s top star, since that might be hard to determine after watching this episode.

WWE NXT live results: Trick Williams vs. Eddy Thorpe title match

The NXT Championship is on the line as the show heads to Lowell, Massachusetts tonight.

Trick Williams will defend his belt against Eddy Thorpe on tonight’s broadcast. Thorpe was originally scheduled to participate in the men’s Iron Survivor Challenge match at NXT Deadline, but he was replaced following an angle where he was attacked. Last week, it was revealed that Thorpe actually faked the attack so he could get a shot at Williams without having to go through the Iron Survivor match.

In Thorpe’s place, Oba Femi entered the Iron Survivor Challenge and has earned an NXT Championship at New Year’s Evil 2025. Tonight, Femi faces Axiom in singles action.

Axiom is pulling double duty on the episode. Due to a miscommunication between Axiom and Nathan Frazer, the two are defending their NXT Tag Team titles tonight against Gallus (Mark Coffey & Wolfgang).

Lash Legend & Jakara Jackson vs. Sol Ruca & Zaria is also set for the show, along with Jaida Parker vs. Wren Sinclair.

The show begins with a video package retrospective looking back on past WWE shows from the Lowell Memorial Auditorium in Lowell, Massachusetts. The past is intertwined with the present as the introductory video package shifts to the current NXT brand.

The lighting in the venue was far better in the ’90s. This was lit like an indie show, as the venue was too dark in places. But that is just my opinion, and there is some cool backlighting in the background. The ring itself seems slightly smaller than the usual 20×20.

In the opening match, a co-holder of the NXT Tag Team Championship faces one tough challenge in his first of two matches on the show. Axiom takes on Oba Femi, and later Axiom and Nathan Frazier defend the tag titles against Gallus.

Femi pinned Axiom after a pop-up powerbomb. This was David vs. Goliath, except Goliath won this time. Plus in this version, David is pulling double duty and wrestling again later in the show.

Cat and mouse game at the start, as Axiom sticks and moves. Femi eventually snatches Axiom by his feet. Femi is manhandling Axiom, as the match goes through a commercial break.

Hope spot after the show returns from the break, as Axiom targets a leg. Femi clotheslines Axiom, and turns him inside out for a near fall. Axiom later goes for an armbar, but Femi dead lifts Axiom to easily break the hold. Femi keeps mowing down Axiom, but Axiom still fires up.

Axiom cuts down Femi with a dropkick to the knee. Femi rises again for a great sequence of exchanges. Axiom gets a near fall, and Femi powers out and goes for a powerbomb. Axiom counters with a hurricanrana for another near fall.

Axiom lands a missile dropkick, and he goes for his finisher. Femi catches Axiom like a damsel in distress, except Femi heaves Axiom aside. Femi then executes his pop-up powerbomb finisher, and Femi covers Axiom for a three count.

Sarah Schreiber interviews Eddy Thorpe in a backstage area. Thorpe boasts about fooling everyone in the angle last week that got him the title shot tonight. NXT General Manager Ava enters the scene and she scolds Thorpe for taking a shortcut, but the contract is signed so there is nothing she can do. Thorpe interjects that he just worked smarter instead of holder. After tonight, Thorpe says she can call him the champion.

In a pre-taped skit, more drama with Ashante “Thee”Adonis and Karmen Petrovic. This time it once again involves Dion Lennox. He tells Karmen to apologize to Adonis. Petrovic agrees and hugs Lennox. Adonis walks in to see them hugging, and he cuts a promo on them. Adonis storms off as the world turns, and so are the days of our lives.

Lash Legend & Jakara Jackson defeated Sol Ruca & Zaria

Legend pinned Ruca to win the match.

Before the show cuts to commercial, Zaria catches Jackson in a fireman’s carry. Ruca then uses Jackson’s body as a launching pad to jump out of the ring to the floor on Legend. Zaria then lifts Jackson with a military press and throws her outside on Jackson. With Ruca and Zarua standing tall, the show cuts to the break after a big pop from the live crowd.

After the break, heat on Ruca as Jackson & Legend work over Ruca. Hot tag Zaria, and Zaria is a house of fire. Legend distracts Zaria, and Jackson hits her with a chop block. Zaria and Legend battle to suplex each other. Near fall after Ruca springboards into a flying body press. Jackson breaks up the pinning attempt as they go home.

Ruca hits Jackson with the X-factor, only for Legend to strike down Ruca. Zaria almost collides with Ruca, but stops short. Ruca then takes a bullet for Zaria, as Ruca gets a pump kick from Legend. Jackson makes another save, and Zaria is thrown outside. Jackson follows up with a dive on Zaria. In the ring, Legend executes her Bougie Bully Drop, and Legend pins Ruca.

Jaida Parker (with OTM) defeated Wren Sinclair (with No Quarter Catch Crew)

Parker pinned Sinclair after a hip attack. OTM and the Catch Crew start brawling at ringside during the match, and they brawl their way down the aisle and through the curtain. In the match, Parker dominated at times, but Sinclair got some offense as well.

Sinclair fired up at one point, but Parker would ultimately cut her off. For the finish, Parker hits Sinclair with a back elbow, followed by a hip attack. Parker then covers Sinclair for a pinfall.

Tatum Paxley, Gigi Dolan and Shotzi all cut promos in a what is supposed to be an spooky dollhouse setting. Fatal Influence are watching on a backstage monitor. They are confronted by Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn. Fatal Influence leave as Fyre & Dawn chuckle over causing them to leave.

Every week on NXT is a video package sponsored by an insurance company. This week it highlights the history of NXT, and more specifically the rich women’s division. The package quickly chronicles the women’s title from the past to the present, concluding with a plug for Deadline.

NXT Tag Team Champions Nathan Frazier & Axiom defeated Gallus (Mark Coffey & Wolfgang with Joe Coffey) to retain their titles

Frazier pinned Wolfgang after a Phoenix Splash and a plethora of other high spots. Axiom went into the match with his shoulder taped, which sells the match earlier tonight where Axiom lost to Oba Femi. Frazier is also wearing a face guard, after a recent injury. That seems legit and not part of the plot like Axiom selling his shoulder.

Gallus mauls Frazier & Axiom before the show cuts to a commercial break. Gallus is working over Axiom when the show returns from commercials. Hot tag to Frazier, and he is running wild at a frantic pace. Frog splash by Frazier on Coffey, and Wolfgang has to jump in to break up a pinning attempt. Soon thereafter, Axiom jumps in to break up a pinning attempt.

Later on, all four go down after a flurry of high spots. Axiom delivers a Golden Ratio to Coffey, and Frazier jumps on Wolfgang’s back. Frazier is inadvertently hit with a Golden Ratio from Axiom, in story line miscommunication. Soon thereafter, Coffey takes a Canadian Destroyer from Axiom. Wolfgang takes a poison-rana from Frazier. All four are down.

Frazier and Wolfganag are fighting with Wolfgang on the turnbuckles. Blind tag by Axiom, and he does a Spanish Fly. Axiom then dives outside on the Coffeys (Mark & Joe) at ringside. Meanwhile, Frazier leaps off the top rope into a Phoenix Splash, and Frazier covers Wolfgang for a the deciding pinfall. And still…

A wacky skit has Je’Von Evans talking with Hank Walker & Tank Ledger. Evans is hyping up Hank & Tank. A depressed Ethan Page pushing him way through them.

In a vignette, Charlie Dempsey has a training session with Lexis King. Dempsey is impressed that King kept up with him, so Dempsey agrees to grant King a title shot at the Heritage Cup.

Depressed Ethan Page sulks out and says the crowd should boo him. He deserves it, according to himself. Page goes to cut a promo where he says he brings up his daughter, son and wife. Page relates his recent failures with his desire to provide for his family. He was getting the “WHAT”chants.

The promo leads to Page spoofing a famous Shawn Michaels’ promo that was cut in the same venue. Page says he lost his smile, and he is soon interrupted by Je’Von Evans. He confronts Page in the ring, and Evans wants to see the real Ethan Page. Evans details the joy Page had for his wife and kids. Evans then talks about a smile from Page as he gives Evans a good pep talk. Evans tells him to drop the “Ego” and let the audience see the real Page.

Page is choking up as he responds to Evans. Page says he should not worry about losing his smile, but instead worry about taking Evans’s smile. Page assaults Evans, and he Pillmanizes Evans with a metal folding chair. Page puts it around Evans’ neck and jaw, and Page stomps on him. Evans sells big and spits up fake blood. This clearly sets up a grudge match.

Sarah Schreiber interview NXT Champiom Trick Williams, and Trick cuts a promo. Oba Femi comes in to say he hopes Williams does win, because Femi wants to take the title from Williams at New Year’s Evil.

Stephanie Vaquer is the focus of a video package that hypes her up.

NXT Champion Trick Williams vs. Eddy Thorpe ends with a finish, but no declared winner

Trick is over with this crowd as a babyface. In contrast, they chanted “Eddy sucks” at Thorpe.

In the match, Trick crotches himself when he missed a leg lariat. Thorpe shoves Trick off the apron as the shows cuts to a commercial break.

Back from the break and Thorpe is working over Williams. Slight botch just before a double down. Trick starts building momentum, and he uses a Rock Bottom for a two count. Thorpe fights back with kicks, and an elbow drop for a near fall.

Slugfest leads to them trading kicks. Thorpe then counters Trick to deliver a backbreaker. Trick fights back. Thorpe with another counter to set up a DDT by Thorpe, but the referee is knocked down. Trick takes the DDT, and he is down for the count. No ref to count. A second ref comes out just as Trick schoolboys Thorpe for a two count.

Thorpe with a couple of running kicks to the face. On the third attempt, Trick counters with a jumping knee strike. Trick falls on top of Page as both refs jump in to make a count. Thorpe’s foot is noticeably under the bottom rope as both refs (with one on either side) each count a pinfall. While Williams was clearly on top of Thorpe, Williams’ shoulders were also down. The foot under the rope must not have been part of he planned finish, as it did not factor in. However, the refs argue after the bell over who they declare the winner. Each counted three with a different perspective.

The refs are still bickering as Ava comes down to ringside. The cliffhanger is who won the match, as the show goes off the air without a declared winner.

WWE NXT live results: The fallout from Deadline

With both Iron Survivor Challenge winners set to appear, the fallout from Deadline takes place on WWE NXT tonight.

Giulia and Oba Femi were victorious on Saturday, winning the respective Iron Survivor Challenge matches. They are now in line for title shots next month at NXT New Year’s Evil. Giulia will be challenging Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women’s Championship on January 7, while Femi will face NXT Champion Trick Williams.

Femi was a surprise addition to the men’s Iron Survivor field at Deadline, replacing Eddy Thorpe following an angle where Thorpe was taken out by a mystery attacker.

A singles match between Je’Von Evans and Wes Lee is part of tonight’s lineup. They were entrants in the men’s Iron Survivor Challenge at Deadline and then got into an altercation after the match.

Plus, Gigi Dolin & Tatum Paxley team up against Jacy Jayne & Jazmyn Nyx of Fatal Influence.

After a recap of Deadline, NXT opens with the entrance of Giulia. She won the Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge at Deadline, and she enters the sound stage at the Performance Center in Orlando in front of a live studio audience.

Giulia gets her shot at the NXT Women’s Championship as the next challenger to Roxanne Perez. Their title match is set for New Year’s Evil in January. Giulia gets in the ring on tonight’s show to address the audience as the next challenger.

Giulia starts with a monologue where she is vowing to win the title, when Giulia is interrupted by Perez. The champ cuts a promo on her challenger. Perez says neither Giulia, nor anyone else on the roster, is on her level. Perez boasts about defeating Giulia in a previous match.

Giulia challenges Perez to fight right now, when out comes Perez’s cohort Cora Jade. While Jade claims Giulia will not even make it to New Year’s Evil, and the director cuts to the backstage area where Stephanie Vaquer. The two heels hints at being responsible.

Giulia throws a forearm strike Perez and the fight is on, but Giulia is outnumbered. Plus, Cora Jade has a weapon. Jade hits Giulia with her trusty kendo stick. Giulia is in peril when out runs Kelani Jordan to make the save. Jordan evens the odds. The heel duo powders, and sets up a tag team match for tonight’s main event.

A backstage skit sets up a NXT North American Championship match with Tony D’Angelo defending against Ethan Page. The skit begins with “The Don” taking pity on Page, and D’Angelo offers him a title match. Page at first declines, and Page dismisses the North American title.

When “The Don” opens up the challenge to others in the room, Page suddenly changes his tune. Page now wants a match, sarcastically saying if he cannot beat the North American Champion then Page’s career is basically over. With that backhanded compliment of the title, Page thanks D’Angelo for the match.

“Raw is Netflix” teaser plugs the start date as “1.6.25”, while NXT cuts to its first commercial break.

Lexis King wants another shot at the Heritage Cup, and Charlie Dempsey says he will think about it. From there, Dempsey goes to talk with his crew. They are visited by OTM, and there is a confrontation. This also sets up a match with Jaida Parker against Wren Sinclair, with them also involved in the skit.

Je’Von Evans defeated Wes Lee

Evans pinned Lee clean after a tornillo body press. This was a good match, and not even the high spot fest you might think. There was still plenty of flying, though. Lee is more aggressive early on, and he clearly the heel. Lee also has a new look and hair style.

The match goes through a commercial break. Evans kicks off after taking Lee’s finisher. Just before that, Lee tries to cheat by putting his feet on the ropes for added leverage in a pinning combination. The referee catches Lee in the act, and Lee bickers with him. Moments later, Lee regroups to deliver the Cardiac Kick, but Evans kicks out. From there, they proceed to go home.

Evans hits Lee with a superkicks to set up the finis, and then Evans does a double springboard into a tornillo splash. Evans then covers Lee for a three count and a decisive victory.

A video package highlights Josh Briggs and his new tag team partnership with Yoshiki Inamura. Clips show Briggs in Japan, as they tell the story of Briggs teaming up with Inamura. They will soon arrive in NXT.

Reporter Sarah Schreiber is standing outside the trainer’s room looking for an update on Stephanie Vaquer. Out walks Kelani Jordan and Giulia. They cut promos, with Giulia first ranting in Japanese. Jordan then cuts a promo in English.

Sol Ruca is in the locker room talking with Zaria. Whatever aura Zaria had with her cool debut several weeks ago is gone, as she is now doing wacky skits like everyone else. Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson confront Ruca and Zaria, which would clearly seem to set up a tag match.

Hank Walker & Tank Ledger defeated Tyriek Igwe & Tyson Dupont

Some heat on Tank about halfway through the match. That set up a hot tag spot, and then they go home after Hank runs wild. Bossman slam by Hank, and then he and Tank do their combo powerslam finisher. Tank then covers Tyson to win the match.

Tyson goes to shake hands with Hank & Tank after the match. Tyriek refuses any handshakes, and he storms off clearly upset over the loss.

Oba Femi is headed to the ring for a monologue since winning the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge. Femi vows to reclaim his “rightful position on the throne,” and Femi goes to address NXT Champion Trick Williams. With the mention of his name, out comes Trick to confront Oba.

Williams and Femi go face-to-face when Eddy Thorpe suddenly interrupts them. Thorpe says will not ignore what Femi did to him (alluding to a Tonya Harding angle, which was the cliffhanger that ended the previous episode of NXT).

“Me and my people have been through enough,” Thorpe says to Femi as Thorpe gets into the ring. Thorpe confronts Femi and accuses Femi of attacking him. Femi tells Thorpe to shut up, and Femi asks Thorpe if he actually Femi attack him. Thorpe says no, as someone jumped him from behind. But whoever was powerful, and the only person with that kind of strength is Femi.

Femi blows off Thorpe, who was coming off like a jerk as well. Trick then cuts a promo on Femi, hyping their match at New Year’s Evil. Femi responds by saying the only reason Trick is the number one guy is because Femi allowed it. Femi says whenever he was ready, he could take the title. Femi then promises and swears to Trick that 2025 will be the end of his era.

After Femi leaves the ring, Thorpe rants at Trick. Thorpe is just an annoying heel? Why? He is a really great wrestler. Maybe then him be that. Otherwise, he is so unlikable in his current role as a serial complainer. Williams cut a promo on Thorpe, and then Williams punks him out. Williams decks Thorpe with a punch, after Williams sets up a match with Thorpe for next week.

Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne & Jaxmyn Nyz with NXT Women’s North American Champion Fallon Henley) defeated Gigi Dolan & Tatum Paxley

Jayne pinned Paxley, after some outside interference by Henley. Paxley drops the fall, so she at least got a hot tag in the match. Henley interferes by shoving Paxley off the top turnbuckle. “Rolling Encore” by Jayne on Paxley, and Jayne folds up Paxley for the pinfall.

The heel trio attacks Paxley after the match. Dolan tries to make a save, but Dolan is also beaten down by Fatal Influence. Shotzi Blackheart suddenly returns, and she cleans house. Together with Paxley and Dolan, the babyface trio boots the heels out of the ring. This would seem to set up a trios match, so maybe a six-woman tag coming soon.

NXT Tag Team Champions were in a few backstage skits. The final one on this episode reveals that Axiom is booked to work twice next week, in a mix-up with Frazier. Axiom got himself booked in singles match with Oba Femi. However, Frazier also pitched an idea to defend the titles. NXT GM Ava booked them in a tag title match next week. Now Axiom has to wrestle Femi in a singles match, and then help defend the tag titles alongside Frazier in a tag bout against unnamed opponents.

Lots of plugs and ads on the show for Saturday Night’s Main Event.

NXT North American Champion Tony D’Angelo defeated Ethan Page to retain the title

D’Angelo pinned Page clean after a spinebuster. Finish was good in that it came out of nowhere, but not a shock nor fluke pin. D’Angelo countered the Razor’s Edge by Page, and “The Don” executes the spinebuster.

The match goes through a commercial break, which also marked the return to NXT of the split-screen break. Not much happened other than some rest holds anyway. The match was good nonetheless.

Football personality Ryan Leaf has a cameo in a backstage skit with Lexis King. This is a tie-in with CW’s football coverage. Up comes Charlie Dempsey to tell King he is granted a Heritage Cup match, but only if King can survive a training session with Dempsey.

Ethan Page is depressed and upset with himself. Page says he is lost and ashamed of himself. Page then sulks away.

NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez & Cora Jade vs. Kelani Jordan & Giulia

Perez & Jade, in matching gear, jump Jordan & Giulia before the bell. Eventually, they get in the ring and the bell sounds to officially start the match.

They wrestle through a commercial break. They built to Perez facing off with Giulia. Soon thereafter, Jordan does a frog splash for a near fall. Moments later, Jordan does a plancha to the outside on Jade. as Jade is being rolled back into the ring, Perez grabs Jordan to deliver Pop Rocks on the floor. After Jordan is rolled into the ring by Perez, Giulia leaps off the apron with a missile dropkick on Perez. Giulia and Perez brawl at ringside, while Jade drops Jordan with a butterfly DDT. Jade then covers Jordan for the deciding pinfall.

After the match, Stephanie Vaquer’s theme music blares, while Jade stands in the ring with her trusty kendo stick. With Jade watching the entrance ramp, Vaquer sneaks behind Jade to ambush her. Jade bumps and feeds, and then Jade powders. Vaquer then chases Jade through the studio audience.

Meanwhile in the office of the General Manager, Ava is singing a contract along with Eddy Thorpe. Next week, Thorpe challenges Trick Williams for the NXT Championship. Thorpe boasts that he deserves this shot.

Ava tells Thorpe they are still looking in to who attacked him. As Thorpe signs the contract, he reveals the Tonya Harding angle from last Tuesday was all a ruse. Thorpe staged the attack to get the title shot. He worked everyone apparently, and now he has a title shot next week.

WWE NXT live results: Eric Bischoff, X-Pac appear on Deadline go-home show

WWE NXT wraps up its build to Deadline tonight with a couple of Hall of Famers set to appear.

Eric Bischoff and Sean “X-Pac” Waltman have both been announced for tonight’s NXT episode. While not much is known about X-Pac’s appearance, it’s been confirmed that Bischoff will be meeting with NXT Champion Trick Williams and Ridge Holland ahead of their title match this Saturday.

The final two Iron Survivor Challenge spots for Deadline will be up for grabs in last-chance qualifying matches. Cora Jade vs. Kelani Jordan vs. Jaida Parker vs. Wren Sinclair is the women’s qualifier. On the men’s side, it’s Axiom vs. Lexis King vs. Eddy Thorpe vs. Cedric Alexander.

A tag team battle royal takes place tonight with the winners earning a title shot against Axiom & Nathan Frazer at Deadline. Plus, Gigi Dolin will be in action after making her return last week.

NXT is on the air with a show taped in front of a live studio audience from a sound stage the Performance Center in Orlando. Opening the show is a last chance qualifier.

On commentary is Vic Joseph and Booker T, and the ring announcer is Mike Rome. Sarah Schreiber is in the Mean Gene role doing backstage interviews.

Wren Sinclair (with Charlie Dempsey) defeated Cora Jade and Kelani Jordan and Jaida Parker in a fatal four-way match to qualify for the Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge.

Sinclair pinned Jade, thanks in large part to outside interference by Lola Vice. Jordan and Jade are also doing a program in a subplot, seemingly setting up a match between them in the near future.

Jordan got to shine with several high spots, like a quebrada off the barricade around ringside. But it was Parker in control as the show cut to its first commercial break. Parker stacks Sinclair and Jade in the ropes and Parker drops a bomb on both. Parker boasts with a dance that is shown on replay just before the show goes into the break.

They come back from the break with an awkward Tower of Doom spot, and they go into a series of near falls. They took turns breaking up the pinning attempts. Sit-out powerbombs, Swanton Bombs, Falcon Arrows, and frog splashes are just some of the big moves.

Just before they go home, Jordan does a 450 splash. Parker breaks up Jordan’s pin on Jade. In a call back to earlier in the match, Parker then goes to stack Jordan in a corner. Suddenly, Lola Vice on the apron. Vice goes to throw a spinning back fist at Parker. Ducking the back fist, Parker avoids Vice’s attack, but Sinclair is inadvertently struck by Vice’s back fist. Sinclair falls like a stone, landing on a fallen Jade. Sinclair is out, but she is in a pinning combination. The referee counts a pinfall on Jade. Meanwhile, Vice drags Parker out of the ring. Fluke win by Sinclair, but she nevertheless qualifies for the Iron Survivor Challenge at Deadline.

Sarah Schreiber interviews Eddy Thorpe in a backstage area. He has a fair chance tonight, and he vows to win. Up walks Lexis King to interrupt the interview, telling Thorpe to control his temper. King makes a wisecrack about Thorpe being a “loose cannon,” and Thorpe responds by saying King has “daddy issues.”

Out comes an angry Jaida Parker, with a microphone in one hand and a brick in the other. Parker is yelling for to take down the ring ropes. Parker is calling out Vice for an Underground match. The show cuts to a commercial break just as Parker hijacks the show. This leads to an Underground match being added to the Deadline card.

Back from commercials, and Parker is in the ring calling out Vice. Referees around the ring taking down the ropes. Out comes NXT General Manager Ava, and she tells Parker she can have an Underground match. Just not tonight. Ava says Parker cannot wrestle twice in one night.

Lola Vice storms back onto the sound stage and she is yelling for Parker. Vice confronts Parker in the ring. The GM seems powerless to stop an altercation. Parker tossed the brick to Vice, but that was a diversion. Parker then drops Vice with a roaring elbow. Vice is knocked out as Parker stands over her. Parker against Vice in the Underground at Deadline is set.

Karmen Petrovic is chatting backstage with Dion Lennox and Brinley Reece, when Petrovice gets roses from Ashante “Thee” Adonis. The romance continues.

Myles Borne wins a Number One Contenders’ Tag Team Battle Royal

Myles Borne wins the battle royal, which makes the No Quarter Catch Crew the number one contenders for the tag team titles. Borne and Tavion Heights will challenge for the NXT Tag Team Championship at Deadline against champions Nathan Frazier & Axiom.

Unlike other tag team battle royals, an elimination of one team member does not mean both teammates are eliminated. The last man in the ring wins the match her his team. The final three are Borne, Tank Ledger, and Lucien Price. Borne clotheslines Tank over the top rope, and then Borne dropkicks Price off the turnbuckles.

Eric Bischoff hosts a face-to-face confrontation with NXT Champion Trick Williams and challenger Ridge Holland

Bischoff does a good job of hosting this segment and hyping it up. The confrontation between champion and challenger led to a brawl and an injury angle. Trick Williams leaves on a stretcher after Holland uses his DDT finisher to spike Williams on the announce desk.

Before the injury angle came walking and talking, as Bischoff enters the soundstage. He is joined by his guests, and promos are cut. Holland and Williams trade barbs. They then get into a brawl. The fighting spills outside the ring. Holland smashes Williams into the ring steps, and then Holland gives Williams an implant DDT on the announce desk. The desk did not break, and they sold it like Willaims was seriously injured from the spot. A stretcher is wheeled out for Williams.

After a commercial break, Williams is shown being taken out on a stretcher. Reporter Sarah Schreiber offers an update from Ava, who was unsure what potential injury means for the NXT Championship match at Deadline. Thanks for the update, I guess.

Karmen Petrovic defeated Nikkita Lyons

Petrovic pinned Lyons after the “Silent Slice” kick. Ashante “Thee” Adonis becomes involved in the match just before the finish, and Petrovic is angry with him for pushing her. He was seemingly trying to save her, but that is not how it worked out. Nonetheless, Petrovic perseveres to deliver the Silent Slice.

Shawn Spears talks with Brooks Jensen and Niko Vance. Spears is playing the long game. Whatever that means in NXT. This skit made Spears look foolish, as both Tatum Paxley and Gigi Dolan clown on him. This leads to Spears scouting the next match. Whatever that means.

Gigi Dolan (with Tatum Paxley) defeated Izzi Dame

Dame fought valiantly, and she got a lot of offense. In WWE logic, that foreshadowed the outcome where Dolan wins in the end. Dolan won via pinfall after a “Gigi Driver” finish. Paxley became involved during the match, and she takes a bump for Dame. Spears is in the aisle for much of the match being creepy as heck as he watches on.

Sean “X-Pac” Waltman, in a cameo appearance, joins Je’Von Evans for a backstage interview. X-Pac says he was the same age as Evans when Waltman beat Razor Ramon. Evans goes to shake hands with Waltman, but X-Pac wants to “Too Sweet” instead.

Eddy Thorpe defeated Axiom and Lexis King and Cedric Alexander in a fatal four-way match to qualify for the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge

Several wrestlers are on hand watching the match. Ethan Page is providing guest commentary at the announce desk. Je’Von Evans is watching among the studio audience, while Wes Lee is Crow Sting (as he watching from a platform overlooking the ring).

Thorpe pinned King, after stealing a pinfall from Axiom. Just as they go home, Axiom delivers the “Golden Ratio” to King. Axiom seemingly has a pinfall, but Thorpe pulls Axiom out of the ring NWO style. Thorpe then jumps into the ring to cover King for a three count. In winning, Thorpe becomes the final qualifier for the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge. The first part of the match, before the commercial break, was okay. After the break, the match greatly heats up and the action intensifies.

GM Ava is FaceTiming with Stevie Turner and Robert Stone. Ava insists the NXT title match at Deadline will go on as plans, despite Trick being injured in the brawl earlier tonight.

Thorpe also cuts a promo on Turner and Stone.

NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez get into the ring, wearing street clothes and the NXT title over he shoulder. Perez cuts a heckuava promo, and she also cuts promos on all of the participants of the Iron Survivor Challenge.

This all leads to Sol Ruca, Zaria, Stephanie Vaquer and Giulia all coming out to confront each other and Perez. A brawl erupts between the four women. Meanwhile, Wren Sinclair lays out Perez. Sinclair then stands over Perez while holding the title belt overhead.

TO THE BACK, where Eddy Thorpe is laid out after being jumped by a mystery assailant. The show ends with a Tonya Harding angle on this go-home episode of NXT.

WWE NXT live results: Iron Survivor Challenge qualifying continues

Iron Survivor Challenge qualifying continues on WWE NXT tonight for both the men’s and women’s matches.

Wes Lee, Je’Von Evans, and Nathan Frazer have already secured their spots in the men’s Iron Survivor Challenge. Tonight, one of the last men’s spots will be confirmed as Axiom takes on Ethan Page.

Either Giulia or Kelani Jordan will earn their place in the women’s Iron Survivor Challenge as they face off in a qualifying match tonight. Sol Ruca, Stephanie Vaquer, and Zaria are the first three participants confirmed.

The Iron Survivor Challenge matches are being held at NXT Deadline on December 7 and will determine new number one contender’s for the NXT Championship and NXT Women’s Championship.

A pair of North American title bouts are set for tonight’s NXT episode. Fallon Henley defends her women’s North American Championship against Tatum Paxley. Shawn Spears challenges Tony D’Angelo for the men’s title belt.

The show begins with a recap from last week, showing the fall of Chase U. Opening the show from the sound stage at the Performance Center in Orlando is the Chase U theme song. The live studio audience pops, but their cheers would soon turn to jeers.

Busting through a Chase U banner is Ridge Holland. He smirks as the studio audience showers him in boos. Holland gets into the ring and grabs the house microphone. All he says is, “I told you so.” That was in reference to the disbanding of Chase U. Holland then says he will see Trick Williams at Deadline, meaning he is challenging for the NXT Championship at the next NXT supercard.

Holland soaked in the jeering from the crowd, and although his promo was brief, Holland had a ton of heat in front of this audience.

Ethan Page defeated Axiom (with Nathan Frazier) in a Iron Survivor Challenge qualifying match

Page pinned Axiom to win the match and qualify for the Iron Survivor Challenge at Deadline. They had a pretty great match. After the match was an in-ring interview with Page, that led into a large brawl with multiple tag teams. Page and Axiom were given plenty of time and they made the most of their match. Page targeted Axiom’s lower back during the match.

The match itself goes through two commercial breaks. When the show returns from the first break, Page goes flying into the announce desk. Meanwhile, a bunch of the tag teams on the roster are watching the match from a monitor backstage.

Before the second commercial break, they are fighting atop the turnbuckles. Page gives Axiom a backbreaker on the top turnbuckle, and Axiom falls to the floor as the show goes into a break. Upon returning from the commercial break, Page and Axiom do a Rey Mysterio-Eddy Guerrero spot from their famous classic match at Halloween Havoc. In the spot, Axiom springboards off the top rope into a back flip and a DDT on Page.

In setting up the finish, they do another Rey Mysterio spot. This one was Rey against Psicosis, where Page goes for a super splash mountain and Axiom reverses into a hurricanrana. Axiom then measures for his finisher, but Page counters with a lariat that turns Axiom inside out. Page then covers Axiom for a three count.

Sarah Schreiber interviews Page in the ring after the match. Page cuts a promo where he gives props to Axiom, while Page also says to not bet against him. Page vows to be the Iron Survivor.

Nathan Frazier jumps into the ring to confront Page. Frazier cuts a promo on Page, but Page gets Frazier to inadvertently put down Axiom. Frazier immediately tries to backtrack his comment.

Wes Lee is out to interrupt. Lee boasts about himself winning the Iron Survivor. Out comes Je’Von Evans for another interruption.

OTM is out for yet another interruption. They do not care about the Iron Survivor, but they do not like the tag team champions chasing a singles title. Several other tag team are behind OTM. Similar to last week, a huge brawl erupts, and the NXT Tag Team Champions, join the melee. All of the teams would continue to brawl throughout the show.

Lola Vice defeated Wren Sinclair (with Charlie Dempsey)

Vice pinned Sinclair after a spinning back fist. Sinclair was working Vice’s injured hand, and Dempsey coached Sinclair into trying to smash Vice’s hand on the ring steps. Sinclair was reluctant, and Vice biels Sinclair off the steps. Vice then takes a rough bump into the steps as Sinclair drop kicks her. Back in the ring, Sinclair goes for a roll-up, but Vice kicks free. Vice then blasts Sinclair with a spinning back fist, with Vice using her good hand. Vice then covers Sinclair for a pinfall.

Vice cuts a stern promo after the match, where she challenges Jaida Parker to an Underground match.

Fatal Influence bully Tatum Paxley in a backstage skit where Paxley as playing with dolls. Paxley offers a cryptic warning to Fatal Influence as a mysterious hand picks up Paxley’s doll.

NXT North American Champion Tony D’Angelo (with Adrianna Rizzo) defeated Shawn Spears (with Brooks Jensen) to retain his title

D’Angelo pinned Spears after a spinebuster. They had a pretty dang good match. Spears worked a leg. Lots of body parts being worked over tonight, which would make the Minnesota Wrecking Crew proud. Anyway, this was a good match. The heels jump D’Angelo after the match, and Niko Vance runs to attack D’Angelo. Niko is aligned with Spears and Jensen, forming a trio.

The title match itself goes through a commercial break. D’Angelo has sold his knee in previous weeks, and it plays into this match as well. Spears targets the injury, and they do spots related to the injury. “The Don” manages to execute a superplex, but his knee soon buckles again. Spears locks in a figure-four leglock. D’Angelo breaks free, and they trade near falls with roll-ups. D’Angelo then counters with a pop-up spinebuster, and “The Don” covers Spears for a pinfall.

Jensen and Spears try to attack D’Angelo after the match, but “The Don” fights them off. Niko runs in and jumps D’Angelo, leaving the champ laying on the mat. The heel trio glare at Rizzo as they stand over D’Angelo.

The tag team are brawling outside the building.

Andre Chase is packing up stuff from Chase U in a vignette paired with sad music.

Giulia defeated Kelani Jordan in a Iron Survivor Challenge Qualifying match

Giulia pinned Jordan after a Northern Lights bomb. This was another good match on the show that got a lot of time. This is a very wrestling-heavy show, and I’m loving that. This match also goes through a commercial break, and Giulia was such a talented wrestler. Jordan held her own.

NXT General Manager Ava takes a bump in a backstage skit. It begins with Ava announces a last chance qualifier for the Iron Survivor Challenge, which is a fatal four-way that takes place next week. Eddy Thorpe is upset and thinks it is unfair for him to face multiple opponents.

Ava then talks with Nathan Frazier & Axiom, and Ava tells them she has booked a battle royal next week to determine the number one contender’s to their tag titles. More tag team arrive to argue among themselves.

Thorpe tries to talk again with Ava, but she tries to go into the trainer’s room. Thorpe grabs her hand to stop Ava, and Ava yells at him to never grab her. Someone hits the trainer’s room door, and the door smacks into Ava. She takes a bump on the floor.

After a commercial break, Ava is still selling the bump. She is sitting up with the trainers checking on her. Shawn Michaels is there as well. Thorpe comes in to plead his case, and HBK flips out on him. Michaels shoves Thorpe backwards into a roll-up door. They glare at each other after Michaels tells Thorpe to get of there .

NXT Champion Trick Williams enter the sounstage for an in-ring monologue. Williams addresses Ridge Holland, which hypes their title match at Deadline. Williams mentions past NXT stars and acts, talking about how they build up the NXT brand. Williams then says Holland only tears things down.

Out comes Ridge Holland to interrupt and confront Williams. Before Holland can say much he is interrupted by Eric Bischoff, who is appearing “via satellite” from Cody, Wyoming. Bischoff announces he is coming to NXT next week. He is hosting a talking segment with Holland and Williams next Tuesday on the go-home show for Deadline.

In a backstage skit, Charlie Dempsey informs Wren Sinclair that she is in a fatal four-way next Tuesday for a final spot in the Iron Survivor (similar to the men’s last chance qualifier). Sinclair wonders how she can win, but Dempsey seems to have faith in her.

NXT North American Champions Fallon Henley (with Jacy Jayne & Jazmyn Nyx) defeated Tatum Paxley to retain her title

Henley pinned Paxley after a famouser. The heel trio tries attacking Paxley after the match, which leads to the return of Gigi Dolan.

The match itself goes through a commercial break. Just before the break, Paxley has Henley reeling and on the ropes. Henley powders, and her partners in Fatal Influence cause a distraction. As Jayne and Nyx distract Paxley, Henley swings around the ring post to hit Paxley. The show cuts to its final commercial break with Fatal Influence gloating over their actions.

Paxley makes a comeback well after the show returns from the commercial break. Paxley gets near falls in the closing moments. Paxley climbs the turnbuckles, but Jayne causes another distraction to hinder Paxley. Moments later, Paxley connects with a 450 splash, but Henley kicks out.

As they go home, Henley kicks out of an O’Connor Roll. Paxley then hits Jayne with a wrecking ball dropkick. Henley tries to capitalize on Paxley being distracted again, but Paxley counters Henley. Paxley goes for her finisher, but Henley counters that. Henley then runs the rope and uses a flying famouser to drop Paxley. Henley then covers Paxley and hooks a leg for the deciding pinfall.

Fatal Influence goes to gang up on Paxley after the match, but Gigi Dolan returns to make a save. Dolan’s theme song blares as Dolan sneaks up on Fatal Influence. Dolan cleans house, and Paxley joins in. The two babyfaces stand tall as the show goes off air.

WWE NXT live results: Fate of Chase U on the line

Tonight on NXT, the fate of Chase University is on the line.

Andre Chase and his former student Ridge Holland will do battle on tonight’s episode. The winner becomes the number one contender to NXT Champion Trick Williams. And there is also the stipulation that, if Chase loses tonight, he will have to close Chase U forever.

A few Iron Survivor Challenge qualifying matches are on tap as the road to Deadline continues. Zaria vs. Wren Sinclair and Stephanie Vaquer vs. Jaida Parker are set on the women’s side. A men’s qualifying match between Nathan Frazer and Eddy Thorpe is also taking place.

Tony D’Angelo vs. Brooks Jensen has been announced for tonight as well. Plus, Karmen Petrovic & Ashante Adonis take on Brinley Reece & Dion Lennox in mixed tag team action.

An appearance by Fatal Influence is also scheduled after Fallon Henley retained her Women’s North American Championship against Kelani Jordan last week.

Vic Joseph and Booker T do a stand-up intro at ringside welcoming viewers to the show from a sound stage at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando. Opening the show is a qualifier for the Iron Survivor.

Lots of Chase U shirts among the live studio audience. Also among the audience are several tag teams watching the match. More appear as the opener progresses. Some are even at ringside.

Before his match tonight, Nathan Frazier is with NXT Tag Team Championship co-holder Axiom. Frazier is pumped for the qualifier. Axiom not so much. Gallus is seen behind them. A tag team stalking the scene is foreshadowing what unfolds during the opener.

Nathan Frazier (with Axiom) defeated Eddy Thorpe in an Iron Survivor qualifying match

Frazier pinned Thorpe after a Phoenix Splash. They had a good match, but it was a backdrop to all the tag team drama. All the teams from the NXT roster come down to ringside. They are all apparently scouting the tag champs, including when one of the champs is in a singles match. With all of them out there, a brawl breaks out just before Frazier and Thorpe go home.

All of the tag teams start closing in on the ringside area as the match cuts to a commercial break. When the show returns from the break, the teams are all around ringside as if it was a lumberjack match. A huge brawl erupts at ringside. Frazier does a dive on to a pile of bodies on the floor. Back in the ring, Frazier counters Thorpe. Frazier then climbs the turnbuckles and leaps off the top with a Phoenix Splash. Frazier then scores a three count.

The teams brawling continues as security pours out for a pull-apart.

Great vignette with Andre Chase giving an impassioned speech as clips highlight the success of Chase U.

Another video package has Giulia delivering a promo with her using the “Beautiful Madness” moniker.

In a backstage skit, Kelani Jordan asks Robert Stone or Stevie Turner to get her an Iron Survivor qualifying match against Giulia.

Stephanie Vaquer defeated Jaida Parker in an Iron Survivor qualifying match

Vaquer pinned Parker after Vaquer’s package neckbreaker combo finisher. Lola Vice comes down to ringside just before the finish, and Vice is carrying a brick. That is a call back to a previous match. Parker had Vaquer set for the hip attack finisher, but Parker is distracted by Vice being at ringside. Vaquer capitalizes and executes her finisher on Parker. Vaquer then scores a three count.

They had a good match, and they were given time. The match goes through a commercial break. Parker got a near fall just before they went home, getting a two count after a Falcon Arrow. Soon thereafter, out comes Vice. Parker and Vice seem likely to clash again soon, while Vaquer moves on to the Iron Survivor Challenge.

Brinley Reece and Dion Lennox are in the locker room dressed in Oregon State gear. This was cross-promotion with CW to hype a college football game on Saturday, which is part of CW’s Pac 12 football package. Lennox and Reece deliver some bad lines ahead of their mixed tag team match.

Later in the show, another locker room skit has Karmen Petrovic and Ashante “Thee” Adonis dressed in Washington State merch. That school is plays Oregon State on CW this weekend. Adonis and Petrovic deliver their lines decent enough, and then they compliment each other’s appearance.

NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez was cutting a promo on the beach in video uploaded to social media. Sol Ruca photos bombs Perez and confronts her on the beach, much to the chagrin of Perez.

Tony D’Angelo (with Adrianna Rizzo) defeated Brooks Jensen (with Shawn Spears)

D’Angelo pinned Jensen after a spinebuster. “The Don” teases hurting his knee in the match, which played into a post-match angle. Jensen got his heat back by chop blocking D’Angelo in the injured knee. Spears had offered a handshake to D’Angelo, which set up the sneak attack by Jensen.

Karmen Petrovic & Ashante “Thee” Adonis defeated Brinley Reece & Dio Lennox in a mixed tag team match

Petrovic pinned Reece to win the match. Adonis wanted a kiss on the cheek, but Reece slaps him instead. However, that distraction allowed Petrovic to land a roundhouse kick on Reece. Petrovic then covers Reece for the three count. This was more gaga than anything else so far.

Lots more plugs for the Pac 12 football games on CW, and even more to come.

Ridge Holland cuts a promo ahead of his match tonight against Andrea Chase, who Holland vows to defeat. Holland says Chase U will be lost without their leader.

Zaria defeated Wren Sinclair in an Iron Survivor qualifying match

Zaria pinned Sinclair after a F-5. Zaria is still getting a monster push, but Sinclair did get some counters and near falls. Charlie Dempsey was also in her corner. Zaria still got to win in mostly decisive fashion, and she is in the Iron Survivor Challenge.

In a skit from the trainer’s room, Tony D’Angelo is angry. NXT GM Ava sees the anger, and she makes a match next week against Shawn Spears. That is, if D’Angelo is cleared to wrestle (in storyline).

Eddy Thorpe throws a tantrum with Ava. Thorpe is such a good character, but he is booked to look like such a jerk.

Fatal Influence are headed to the ring to deliver a promo. After a commercial break, they are in the ring. Jacy Jayne, Jazmyn Nyz and NXT Women’s North American Champion Fallon Henley get to cut promos. Henley announces an open challenge for her title next week, and out comes Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson to interrupt the promo. They want to accept the open challenge. Out comes Nikkita Lyons, and she too wants to challenge Henley. More women enter the scene. Adrianna Rizzo jumps Lyons, and a hug brawl erupts at ringside with seemingly everyone involved.

As the smoke clears, Tatum Paxley is in the ring with Henley. Paxley executes her finisher on Henley, and Paxley poses with the North American title belt. This sets up Henley defending the title against Paxley next Tueday on NXT.

Karmen Petrovic and Ashante Adonis are chatting backstage and there is a spark between them. Nikkita Lyons interrupts to ask Adonis to text her back. Petrovic is upset by this, and she storms off.

A really good video package hypes the Iron Survivor Challenge.

Ethan Page vows to regain the NXT Championship in a backstage promo, and that begins with qualifying for the Iron Survivor.

In a separate (but related) locker room skit, Axiom tells Nathan Frazier that Axiom is booked against Page in a qualifying match. This plays on what sometimes seems like the only tag team subplot in WWE, which the partners are not on the same page.

Chase U is featured in another vignette with Andre Chase. This was great like the other hype video earlier in the show.

NXT Champion Trick Williams gets a full entrance as he comes out in street clothes. Trick will provide guest commentary for the main event.

Ridge Holland defeated Andre Chase in a number one contender’s match

Holland pinned Chase after the Redeemer finisher. Chase kicked out on a lot of near falls, until he could kick out no longer. With that, Andre Chase must leave Chase U.

The Chase U Crew is watching on monitors backstage. Before the show cuts to its final commercial break, Holland pulls up the floor mats to expose the bare concrete. Chase fights back with a somersault senton off the apron. Chase poses with the crowd as the show cuts to the break.

Chase was doing well for himself when Holland went to fetch a metal folding chair. Holland went to use the chair as a weapon, but the referee took it from him. The ref turns him back to get rid of the chair, and Holland kicks Chase in the groin with a low blow. Holland then delivers an implant DDT for a near fall. Duke Hudson, who along with Thea Hail, came to ringside during the match, and he pulled the referee out of the ring to stop the count. Somehow, this was not a disqualification.

Hudson and Riley Osborne would both get involved as the match progresses. Hudson is rammed through a wall on a gimmicked section of the set. Osborne flew in on a flip dive that wipes out Holland and Hail. Holland counters Osborne, and Holland picks up Osborne with a military press. Holland then tosses Osborne over the ropes to the floor like the Ultimate Warrior might have done to some jobber in ’89.

In the closing moments, Holland faces off with Chase in a slugfest. Comeback by Chase as he runs wild. Chase powerbombs Holland off the middle rope for a close three count. That would be the final near fall, as Holland soon cuts off Chase.

Chase jumps off the top rope with a high cross, but Holland hangs on with the roll through. Holland then executes his Redeemer (implant DDT) finisher. Holland then hooks a leg for the deciding pinfall.

Post-mathch, Chase is nearly in tears as he locks at his fallen students, all in some way were laid out at the hands of Holland. This was seemingly supposed to be a serious moment, but some people in the studio audience begin singing the “Hey hey hey, goodbye” song. That somewhat killed the mood, but I chuckled nonetheless.

WWE NXT live results: Iron Survivor Challenge qualifiers begin

The build to Deadline kicks into gear with Iron Survivor Challenge qualifying matches beginning on NXT tonight.

On the men’s side, Je’Von Evans vs. Lexis King and Wes Lee vs. Cedric Alexander will take place. A women’s qualifier has been announced as well with Cora Jade facing off against Sol Ruca. The winners will become the first participants to advance to the Iron Survivor Challenge matches at NXT Deadline, which will determine new number one contenders to the NXT Championship and NXT Women’s Championship.

Deadline is being held in Minneapolis on December 7.

A title bout is scheduled for tonight with Kelani Jordan getting her NXT Women’s North American Championship rematch against Fallon Henley. We’ll also hear from NXT Champion Trick Williams as he addresses what’s next for him.

Plus, Giulia & Stephanie Vaquer team up against Lash Legend & Jakara Jackson, Nikkita Lyons meets Adriana Rizzo in singles action, and more.

– Following the WWE “Then, Now, Forever” signature, we went straight to a live shot of the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, FL. Vic Joseph and Booker T welcomed us to the show and tossed to a recap of last week’s NXT from the 2300 Arena, the home of ECW.

Stephanie Vaquer & Giulia defeated Jakara Jackson & Lash Legend

Before the match, we got an inset promo from Jackson and Legend where they trashtalked Vaquer and Giulia ahead of this opening contest.

Giulia and Legend started off for their teams, with the latter taking down Giulia with a big boot. The tag to Jackson led to the Meta Four duo maintaining control of the action. Jackson struck Giulia down with a missile dropkick and continued control until Vaquer tagged herself in. Giulia and Vaquer got a fantastic tag team maneuver on Jackson.

Vaquer landed the legdrop on Jackson before she squeezed her head with the legs and slammed it down repeatedly on the mat. Legend re-entered the match and used her awesome strength to lift both Giulia and Vaquer at the same time to shake both all about. She then had Jackson go up on her shoulders for a dive to the outside onto Vaquer and Giulia, which sent us to our first break of the evening.

NXT returned with Legend having Vaquer held in a stalling suplex that she connected on. Jackson was tagged back in as she held Vaquer in a submission, which kept her at bay mometarily. Vaquer escaped and she got the tag to Giulia.

Giulia was a house of fire, as she hit Legend and Jackson with impressive moves, including a flip powerbomb on the massive Legend. Vaquer made her way back to the match and hit a double back suplex with Giulia on Jackson for the two count.

On the outside, Giulia took down Legend with a dropkick to the outside. With Giulia the legal woman in the match, Jackson was at the mercy of the international superstars, who hit a tandem knee strike for the victory.

– After the match, both Giulia and Vaquer were asked what would happen if both made it into Iron Survivor at NXT Deadline. Giulia said that she knew this day would come, while Vaquer simply told her friend, “see you at Deadline”.

– A video package that explained Iron Survivor’s rules was shown, handy for those who were just tuning in to NXT on The CW.

(Fun little opener where all competitors looked good. Legend and Jackson proved themselves worthy on the main roster during their short excursion, and they looked fantastic standing across the ring and keeping up with the international sensations Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer.)

Women’s Iron Survivor Qualifier: Sol Ruca defeated Cora Jade

The match started off with Jade taunting Ruca while sat on the top turnbuckle. She then avoided a superkick attempt from Ruca, who then sat on the opposite turnbuckle before she slammed Jade face first. Ruca then pretended to use Jade as a surfboard before her foe regained the advantage with knees to the back.

Jade trapped Ruca against the middle rope and ran into her with a running forearm strike that only got a two-count. An exchange of strikes ended with Ruca regaining the momentum for a moment. Jade stopped the attack tried for her DDT, but Ruca fought out of it. Jade went for a running knee, but Ruca dodged at the last second and went up for her Sol Snatcher for the shocking victory.

(The match went by quickly, though we got a bit of an upset with Ruca pulling off the win. With how involved Cora Jade has been in the NXT Women’s Title picture, it seemed like her qualifying for Iron Survivor was a given, so this is a bit of a surprise.)

– Backstage, Je’von Evans and Cedric Alexander were hyping each other up for their Iron Survivor Qualifier matches before the scene shifted to Karmen Petrovic and Dion Lennox chatting about how Ashante “Thee’ Adonis is seemingly flirting with Petrovic. Brinley Reece and Adonis himself then appeared as Lennox suggested Petrovic and Adonis team up next week in a mixed tag match.

Ava’s State of the NXT Tag Team Division

– Backstage, NXT GM Ava was with several NXT teams, including Gallus, OTM, Hank and Tank, among others. She challenged these teams to prove themselves worthy of facing Fraxiom for the NXT Tag Team Championships. As the teams argued with one another, Ava said this was the energy that she needed to see, and that she wanted to see these teams back it up in the ring.

Men’s Iron Survivor Qualifier: Wes Lee defeated Cedric Alexander

As the bell rang, Lee and Alexander locked horns in the ring briefly before the former backed off for a bit, much to Alexander’s frustration. Alexander trapped Lee in a headlock for a good while before his opponent forced him to the ropes to break the hold.

Lee countered out of another Alexander headlock as things began to pick up a bit with both men using their agility. On the apron, Lee got caught in the middle ropes and got kicked repeatedly by Alexander, which sent him outside. With a full head of speed, Alexander soared to the outside with a suicide dive onto Lee, which led us to break in the action.

We returned to the action with Alexander attempting a comeback, but to no avail. Lee attempted for a Kardiac Kick, but Alexander intercepted him with a dropkick to the head as both men struggled to get themselves to a vertical base. Alexander went on the attack with repeated chops to Lee’s chest, followed by a Kitchen Sink knee strike.

Alexander and Lee faced off on the apron, as Lee got slammed on the hardest part of the ring. Back inside, Alexander caught Lee with a rollthrough DDT for a near-fall. Lee recovered and struck Alexander in the gut before he connected with the Kardiac Kick. 1, 2…. KICKOUT~!

Alexander flattened Lee with a clothesline, which sent his opponent to the corner. Lee pulled out the middle turnbuckle pad and threw it at Alexander, which allowed him to use it as a distraction so he could hit Alexander with a cheap shot. Lee sent Alexander into the exposed middle turnbuckle before he put an end to things with the running Meteora.

(A good match that showcased Wes Lee’s willingness to play dirty as part of his heel character and Alexander as the cagey veteran wanting to put the cocky youngster in his place. I enjoyed it.)

– Tony D’Angelo was enjoying dinner as Shawn Spears and Brooks Jensen paid the North American Champion a visit. Spears said that D’Angelo built a hell of a Family since he won the North American Championship, before he told D’Angelo that he wanted Jensen challenge him for the NA Championship. Spears said that the only thing that will satisfy his “appetite” is D’Angelo’s championship before he left.

Outside, Spears and Jensen went in their car and spoke with a bearded man (Niko Vance from NXT Level Up), saying that what they did with D’Angelo was apparently how to “deal with the Don”.

– Backstage, Kelani Jordan was interviewed about her Women’s North American Championship rematch later tonight. She said that it’d be on sight with Fallon Henley as Jazmyn Nyx & Jacy Jayne appeared to taunt Jordan about her chances tonight.

Trick Williams speaks

The NXT Champion entered to a massive ovation from the Performance Center crowd. Williams talked about how he was an Iron Survivor success story, but that wasn’t what he wanted to focus on. He wanted to talk about Ridge Holland pinning him last week in Philadelphia, and how it won’t end like that. Williams tried to call out Holland, but was interrupted by Andre Chase.

Chase said that he wasn’t done with Holland, as Williams praised him for his ability to bounce back and for doing everything on NXT… other than be NXT Champion. Before Williams could issue a challenge, Holland cut him off and got a chorus of boos.

Holland asked why Williams dared to call himself a champion for “ducking” him in favor of a guy he beat already. He bragged about making the ECW Arena fall silent last week when he pinned Williams as Chase challenged Holland for one more match. Holland rejected it, even when Chase put up his university up for grabs.

Williams says that he could see where this was going as he told Chase and Holland that he was going to go see Ava to have a match made for next week: Andre Chase vs. Ridge Holland with a NXT Championship match at Deadline on the line. Holland interjected by saying that he wanted Mr. Chase’s relationships with Thea Hail, Riley Osborne, and Duke Hudson gone if he won last night. Chase accepted thus wager and promised to give Holland a “Chase University-sized ass kicking”. Holland struck Chase with a cheapshot as Williams responded with an attack of his own on Holland.

Chase and Williams stomped on Holland for a bit, which sent him for a retreat.

– We got remarks from Jaida Parker, who congratulated Sol Ruca for qualifying for Women’s Iron Survivor. She promised that she’d be the winner of that match at Deadline.

– Backstage, Josh Briggs was with Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Yoshiki Inamura and GM Ava. Eddy Thorpe walked right in and was informed that Ava placed him in an Iron Survivor qualifier match against an unknown opponent.

Nikkita Lyons defeated Adriana Rizzo

As the bell rung, Rizzo and Lyons went right at one another with an exchange of strikes. Rizzo had Lyons staggered in the corner with a dropkick as she went up top for a dive attempt. Lyons avoided it and caught Rizzo in a Master Lock submission before she slammed her down ot the mat. She maintained control of the match with another Master Lock on Rizzo, who struggled to eventually escape the hold. Rizzo roared back with repeated running elbows before she tried a suplex to no avail. Rizzo eventually took down Lyons with a running press for the near-fall.

Rizzo went up the middle turnbuckle and went for a diving splash, but Lyons caught her and hit her karate kick before she finished Rizzo off with the body press from the top rope.

After the match, Rizzo struck Lyons with the tire iron to the back.

(While this match wasn’t necessarily anything to write home about, I do appreciate NXT having women’s feuds that aren’t centered on championships, something that it holds over Raw and SmackDown in that regard.)

– Backstage, Andre Chase was confronted by his students, who didn’t like the wager that was made earlier. Chase responded by saying that his University was built on risks and that next week would be the highest of highs for Chase U. Riley Osborne, Duke Hudson, and Thea Hail didn’t seem too hopeful for Chase’s chances next week.

– The “NXT Focus” showed a vignette on Zaria, who talked about how she was a destructive force and how she thrived on inciting chaos. She said that at Deadline, there would be no more mystery as to who she was.

Men’s Iron Survivor Qualifier: Je’von Evans defeated Lexis King

Things started off fast with Evans and King going back and forth with arm drags and acrobatic dodges. Evans leapt over King with a dodge as he went for a roll-up pin that was unsuccessful. Lots of pinfall attempts traded between Evans and King in this early stage of the match.

Evans leapt on the top rope for a springboard hurricanrana on King, which forced him into a retreat. That was followed up by a dive over the top ropes to the outside. Back in the ring, Evans tried to leap over King, but got hit with an inadvertent low blow by King’s noggin, which took us to another break in the action.

Back on NXT with King locking in a single leg crab on Evans for an all-too brief moment. Evans eventually bounced back figuratively with a kip-up cutter on King, as he followed that with a springboard splash for the incredibly-close two-count.

High-risk move by Evans was missed, which opened him for a superkick from King. Both men now in the middle of the ring as they traded strikes. Evans caught King with an impressive kick before once again heading up top for the frog splash. King kicked out and responded with a Michinoku Driver for another two-count.

King ran into a superkick from Evans, which led to his springboard spinning splash and the one, two, three to qualify for Iron Survivor.

After the match, King shook Evans’ hand in a show of sportsmanship.

(I quite enjoyed this match and how fast-paced it was. Je’von Evans in Iron Survivor could be one hell of a showcase for him and he’s already thrived in the spotlight given to him so far.)

– NXT Tag Team Champions’ Nathan Frazer and Axiom were chatting backstage. Frazer revealed to his partner that he signed for an Iron Survivor Qualifier match of his own, seemingly without Axiom’s approval. After Frazer walked off, OTM and The D’Angelo Family faced off with one another as Axiom was frustrated at his partner striking out on his own.

– Dion Lennox & Ashante “Thee” Adonis chatted amongst themselves as Lexis King entered the locker room, frustrated about losing another match. Hank & Tank and Dante Chen gave King encouragement for his sportsmanship as Gallus rolled up and began bickering with Hank & Tank.

Women’s North American Championship: Fallon Henley (w/ Fatal Influence’s Jacy Jayne & Jazmyn Nyx) defeated Kelani Jordan

The match kicked off with Jordan and Henley caught in an extended lockup sequence that the referee eventually broke up. Jordan took down Henley with a springboard armdrag, but she missed with the dropkick, wich allowed Henley to take control of the match.

Jordan bounced back with a dropkick that sent Henley scurrying to the ringside area. The fight spilled in front of the commentary table as Jordan leapt on top of the commentary table and hit a standing moonsault on Henley, which led to the final commercial break of the evening with about 8 minutes of show left.

We returned to the main event as both Jordan and Henley took each other down with stereo armdrags to one another. A picture-in-picture popup briefly showed a couple of NXT tag teams brawling backstage with referees scurrying to break things up.

Jordan tried for her split-legged moonsault, but Henley blocked it and got a flip DDT on the challenger instead. Jordan trapped Henley on the top rope and ascended for an avalanche Spanish Fly. 1, 2…. NO~! Henley avoided a Phoenix Splash from Jordan and rolelder up for the close two-count.

Jordan caught Henley with a standing backdrop, as she then hit her split-legged moonsault. Jacy Jayne put Henley’s foot on the bottom rope as Jazmym Nyx attempted to run interference. The chaos broke out as Jayne caught Jordan with a cheapshot, which led to the Fame-asser from Henley and a successful Women’s North American Championship defence.

OTM rolled up to talk trash which led to the Family attacking them, with Gallus and Hank & Tank joining in for the wild brawl at ringside. Referees and security poured in to try and break up the fighting, but we end the night on the fight as the producer credits for Triple H, Lee Fitting, and Shawn Michaels close out the show.

(A fine enough main event that seemed to be hampered a bit by time constraints, but I still found it enjoyable. In fact, this show was a breeze to watch from start to finish and the build towards Deadline is looking quite fine.)

WWE NXT live results: Trick Williams & Bubba Ray Dudley team up at former ECW Arena

WWE NXT Champion Trick Williams will team with Bubba Ray Dudley against former champion Ethan Page and Ridge Holland as part of tonight’s live debut from the former ECW Arena.

Dudley and Holland got into a verbal altercation at last month’s Halloween Havoc leading to Dudley getting physically involved in defending Williams on last week’s NXT TV.

The show is taking place on a different night as well, going head-to-head with AEW Dynamite.

In an all-star 10-woman tag team match, former TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace returns to team with Stephanie Vaquer, Giulia, Kelani Jordan and Zaria against NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez, Cora Jade, and all three members of Fatal Influence.

In an homage to the now-2300 Arena, Lola Vice will go one-on-one with Jaida Parker in a hardcore match with former ECW manager Dawn Marie as special guest referee.

In an anticipated singles bout, Je’Von Evans will go to battle with Wes Lee.

The show begins with a canned intro that uses the ECW “This is Extreme!” theme song, along with clips from NXT action. NXT is live on the air from the corner of Swanson and Ritner, from the former home of the ECW Arena.

In the crowd is someone dressed like Hat Guy, and his seat is nearly in the same spot. Opening the show is a “hardcore” match.

Jaida Parker defeated Lola Vice in a hardcore match with Dawn Marie as special guest referee

Parker pinned Vice after a hip attack finisher. They steal a page from the Friday script, except in this version the heel grabs a brick and hits the babyface. That set up the finish.

Metal folding chairs are used early and often in the match. There are spinning back fists into chairs, chairs wedged between the ropes, chairs scattered in the ring, and also chair shots of course. Vice tries to get a table from underneath the ring, but Parker shoves the table back under the ring.

Double clothesline on the floor, and a double down as the show cuts to its first commercial break. When the show returns, ladders, trash cans, and kendo sticks (or “Singapore canes” since this is an ECW tribute show).

Vice is put on a ladder bridged in the ropes, and Parker jumps off a standing ladder in the ring. Parker with a “teardrop” senton and crushes the ladder bridge, and Parker gets a near fall. Vice fights back to apply a choke, yet Parker is able to escape. They took turns hitting each other with the Singapore canes, and they took some big bumps.

Just before they go home, Vice has Parker trapped in a chokehold. Parker is able to pick up a gimmicked brick that is laying in the ring, and Parker hits Vice with the brick. The hold is broken of course, and Parker gets to her feet so she can run the ropes. Parker delivers her hip attack finisher, and Parker covers Vice for a three count.

Ridge Holland and Ethan Page are together to cut promos on their opponents for tonight. Notably, Page says there will be no tables in their match.

Wes Lee ambushes Rob Van Dam in a backstage skit. RVD is giving some advice to Kelani Jordan, who points Rob in the direction of Ava’s office. Suddenly, Wes Lee runs in to attack RVD. The skit is shot in a way that chair shots are not seen, but heard instead.

Adrianna Rizzo against Nikkita Lyons in a singles match is official for next week, which is first mentioned in a skit where Nunzio (Little Guido) and Tony Mamaluke meet up with a Tony D’Angelo and his Family for not checking in. Nunzio is apparently now a gangster from Philly. It was silly, but not in the fun way when Little Guido ran with the FBI.

Je’Von Evans defeated Wes Lee

Evans pinned Lee, in a match where RVD shows up at ringside. This was a pretty dang good match, and it was more in the spirit of the original ECW than anything else on the show so far.

The match goes through a commercial break. The show cuts to commercial after Lee drops Evans with a brain buster on the ring steps.

Less brawling after the break, and more high spots. Lots of flying. Evans does his double springboard into a cutter, but Lee rolls out of the ring before Evans can make a cover. Evans then sails through the ropes with tope suicida that sends him crashing over the announce desk.

Lee gets a chair and goes to hit Evans, but the ref takes the chair away. Moments later, Lee gets the chair again. That brings out RVD, who made a miraculous recovery. Lee confronts RVD, and RVD ducks a chair shot. Evans then dives over the ropes on Lee.

Rolling back into the ring, Lee takes a flying cutter from Evans. RVD cheers on Evans as he does a frog splash, and Evans covers Lee for a pinfall.

Eddy Thorpe wants to speak with Ava, but she makes an excuse and says it can wait. Ava is headed to the ring alongside Stevie Turner and Robert Stone.

After a commercial break, Ava and company are in the ring. The crowd is tough as Ava announces the next NXT PLE will be Deadline. Robert Stone butts in to cut a promo on Philly fans. Stone puts over New York fans over Philly fans. Stone keeps cutting a promo on Philly when the arena lights go dark. The lights come back on and Rhino is in the ring. Rhino gores Stone, and the crowd pops.

Ridge Holland & Ethan Page defeated NXT Champion Trick Williams & Bubba Ray Dudley

Holland pinned Williams to win the match. With Holland pinning the champion, that likely sets up a title bout for the near future. D-Von Dudley made a cameo in a post-match angle.

Holland shoves Bubba early on, so they square off. Later on, Bubba cleans house after a mildly hot tag. The crowd was nonetheless hot for Bubba. The heels are reeling as the show cuts to a commercial break.

When the show returns from the break, Bubba is crotched on the ring post. Holland & Page then get heat on Bubba, as they work him over. Bubba is audibly calling spots clear as day, as he sets up to deliver a spear. Hot tag to Trick, and he is a house of fire. All four are involved in the match just before the finish.

For the finish, Holland dodges Trick’s knee strike finisher, and Holland rolls up Trick for a pinfall.

Page jumps Trick after the match. Holland then joins in to team up on Trick. Page & Holland are beating down Trick when Bubba makes a save. Bubba and Trick do the “wazzzup” and the “get the tables” spots, which were actually not part of ECW lore. Whatever, though. It got over with the live crowd.

When Trick went to get a table, he could not find a table under the ring. They wondered what to do when the Dudley’s theme song blares, and out comes D’Von Dudley with a table. Page is then put through a table. D-Von then presents Trick with a pair of Dudley glasses.

The love story between Ashante “Thee” Adonis and Karmen Petrovic continues to blossom. Slow burn here.

NXT North American Champion Tony D’Angelo (with The Family) defeated Nunzio (with Tony Mamaluke)

D’Angelo pinned Nunzio after a spinebuster. Nunzio looked very thin in tights, but he can still work pretty well. He did a few of his signature spots, before getting a crowbar to use. The ref takes the crowbar from Nunzio, and D’Angelo finishes him off. D’Angelo executes his finisher, and he covers Nunzio for a pinfall. Tony D and Nunzio embrace after the match after shaking hands.

Backstage, Shawn Spears tells Brooks Jensen that he is “feeling Italian” next week in Orlando.

In footage from last week, Mr. William Regal shakes hands and says farewell to Lexis King. Regal the runs into Charlie Dempsey and the No Quarter Crew. Regal remarks to Dempsey that King is not his father’s son. Regals asks Dempsey is he is his father’s son. Dempsey says time will tell. The inside joke here is Dempsey’s actual father is Regal.

TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace, Stephanie Vaquer, Giulia, Kelani Jordan & Zaria defeated NXT Women’s North American Champion Fallon Henley, Jacy Jayne, Jazmyn Nyz, Cora Jade & NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez

Zaria pinned Perez to win the match. This was a good match where everyone got to shine or get some spots in. Giulia and Vaquer worked together with tandem moves, since they are an established team. Zaria eventually tags in, and she looks strong.

All ten face off in a standoff that turns into a slugfest. Jordan does a moonsault off the top rope to the floor, just before the show cuts to its final commercial break. A replay shows the moonsault in slow motion as the show fades into commercials.

After returning from the break, heat on Jordan. She is kept away from her corner, as Jordan is in peril. Hot tag to Grace, and she is a house of fire. She gets a near fall on Jade.

Lash Legend & Jakara Jackson come down to ringside, and they are wiped out with high flying from Vaquer & Giulia.

Everyone gets involved with a parade of high spots in the closing moments. Zaria inadvertently spears Grace in the match, which was a very notable spot.

For the finish itself, Perez goes for Pop Rocks. Zaria blocks the move, and Zaria gives Perez the F-5. Zaria then covers Perez to win the match.

The babyfaces celebrate with their hands’ raised, as the ECW theme song plays before the show fades to black.

There was some really good wrestling on the show, but this was the lamest ECW tribute I have seen. As a fan of the original ECW, this show had none of the magic of past tribute shows.

WWE NXT live results: Fallout from Halloween Havoc

WWE NXT’s fallout from Halloween Havoc airs live on The CW Network tonight.

Zaria — the Australian wrestler formerly known as Delta — will make her NXT in-ring debut. She laid out Fatal Influence at Halloween Havoc and looks to have her eyes on taking the Women’s North American title from new champion Fallon Henley.

The first-ever women’s casket match in WWE history will take place tonight as Tatum Paxley battles Wendy Choo.

A pair of title matches are also scheduled. Je’Von Evans & Cedric Alexander are challenging Nathan Frazer & Axiom for the NXT Tag Team title belts. The Heritage Cup will be up for grabs with Charlie Dempsey defending against Lexis King — who will have Dempsey’s father William Regal in his corner.

Tonight’s show will also continue the build to next Wednesday’s NXT episode that’s being held at the former ECW Arena in Philadelphia. It looks like NXT Champion Trick Williams will be teaming with Bubba Ray Dudley in Philly after Bubba Ray saved him from an attack by Ethan Page and Ridge Holland at Halloween Havoc.

NXT begins with a recap of Halloween Havoc, but that is wiped away on the screen to reveal Tatum Paxley pushing a casket. She says the highlights will have to wait. Now is time for the “first ever” women’s casket match.

After Paxley pushes the casket to ringside, out comes Wendy Choo pulling a bed frame to ringside. The fight is on and the opening match is underway.

Tatum Paxley defeated Wendy Choo in a casket match

Paxley won by putting Choo in the casket and closing the lid. The beat the heck out of each other in a brawl. Helluva opener. Lots of weapons and big bumps. Audio on television was muted at times, presumably because of the obscene “holy s***” chants.

Other gimmicks are used besides the casket itself, like trash cans, broom sticks, and other plunder. There is also a pillow in the ring, which would play into a later spot. They did more spots with the trash can in the first half of the match, before the first commercial break of the show. Choo stuffs Paxley into a trash can, and then Choo dropkicks the can just before the show cuts to the break. Before that, Choo was had the can stuffed over her head, but she is standing tall with a sinister smile as the show goes to break.

As they return from the commercial break, Paxley takes a hip toss and crashes through a later dollhouse. After the dollhouse is shattered, Choo goes to put Paxley in the casket. But Choo’s pillow is in the way of the casket door closing. Choo then bashes Paxley with the pillow, and Choo reveals the pillow was loaded with a pile of Legos. Paxley takes a full nelson slam on the pile of Legos. From there, the show cut to a split-screen where Williams Regal was talking in a locker room with Lexis King. Meanwhile, the crazy bumps continued in the ring.

Choo leaps off the apron with a flying elbow drop into the casket. The lid shuts on them both, and when it opens again they both do a the Undertaker sit-up gimmick, and they glare at each other. Setting up the finish, Choo is trying to choke out Paxley on top of the casket. Paxley escapes, grabs a fire extinguisher, and she shoots Choo with the fire extinguisher. Choo flails around and takes a Nestea Plunge through the bed frame, which she had wheeled to ring earlier in the match. Paxley drags Choo off the broken bed, and Paxley puts Choo in the casket and shuts the lid.

Highlights of Halloween Havoc are featured in a video package.

NXT Champion Trick Williams is in the ring after a commercial break. He works the crowd and boasts about defending the title against Ethan Page at Halloween Havoc. Williams mentions that he was also jumped by Ridge Holland, and that Bubba Ray Dudley made a save. So, Trick brings out Bubba to join him in the ring.

Trick thanks Bubba, and Bubba says he doesn’t need the thanks. Bubba was doing the right thing, and that was because of disrespect by Holland to Bubba and his radio show. Bubba puts over Trick, spurring the live studio audience to chant “whoop that trick.” Bubba talks about no one coming to aid Trick when he was getting jumped. Bubba says that is due to Trick being the NXT Champion. Bubba give Trick advice to have eyes in the back of his head.

Trick says he knows Bubba wants revenge on Holland. Trick says he wants Bubba to team up with him for a tag team match against Holland and Page. Bubba says that got his “juices flowing” for a moment. Bubba gets the studio audience to do the “get the tables” spot. However, Bubba eventually turns down the offer. He does not want to take anyone’s spot on the roster. Bubba leaves the ring as the crowd chants “you still got it” at him.

Cut to the office of NXT General Manager Ava. Alongside her is Rob Van Dam making a cameo appearance. RVD announces he is booked for the 2300 Arena show.

Lexis King is accompanied to the ring by William Regal as the show cuts to a commercial break.

NXT Heritage Champion Charlie Dempsey (with Myles Borne, Wren Sinclair & Tavion Heights) defeated Lexis King (with William Regal) to retain the trophy cup

Dempsey retains after scoring pinfalls in the first and third rounds. Regal tries to slid a pair of brass knux to King, but King refused to cheat.

Dempsey wins the first round with a pinfall, after a butterfly suplex and a bridge. No falls scored in round two, but King falls off the apron and clutches his knee. The show cuts to a commercial break with King down selling big. Under 30 seconds in round two as the show returns from the break, and King has fired up into a comeback. Dempsey is saved by the bell.

In between rounds, footage from the break shows King being put in a knee brace. He rips off the brace and vows to continue the match. The fiery comeback is soon snuffed out by Dempsey, and Dempsey goes on to target the injured knee. Dempsey works the knee.

Dempsey tries to fight back, but his knee buckles. He is down near the ropes by Regal, who tries to slide a pair of brass knux to King. “I am not my father,” King screams at Regal. Dempsey sneaks behind and executes a German suplex with a bridge for the deciding pinfall.

Zaria defeated Brinley Reece

Zaria pinned Reece after an F5. Zaria had a great special entrance, and she went on to have a dominate win. Reece briefly got some offense before they went home, but it was mostly Zaria looking like a killer.

In the match, they did a spot where Reece sold like her arm was dislocated. Zaria kicks the arm back into place, and the beating continues. After Zaria pins Reece, a post-match angle sets up a ten-woman tag team match for next Wednesday at the ECW Arena.

Newly-crowned NXT Women’s North American Champion Fallon Henley leads Fatal Influence through the studio audience. Henley cuts a promo about wanting revenge for Zaria ruining Fatal Influence’s moment last Sunday at Halloween Havoc.

Interrupting the interruption, out comes NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez alongside Cora Jade. They want to “introduce” Zaria to the NXT women’s division.

Kelani Jordan runs down to stand beside Zaria as they are surrounded by heels. Henley smirks and says that is only two. Running out to join the babyface side is Stephanie Vaquer and Giulia, but the odds are still five-on-four.

Sirens blare for the entrance of Jordynne Grace. She joins the babyface side, they face off with the heels. They run at each other like heels and faces on the intro to the old school X-Men animated show. A big brawl erupts, and the babyfaces send the heels packing. A ten-woman tag match is made official after a commercial break.

Nikkita Lyons defeated Kelani Jordan

Jordan pinned Lyons, thanks in part to a distraction by Adrianna Rizzo. Lyons is distracted and there is nobody home on a Vader Bomb. Jordan comes back to execute a split-legged moonsault, and Jordan scores the pinfall.

Rizzo attacks Lyons in a post-match angle, and Lyons flees the ring. Jordan assists Rizzo with a dive over the ropes on Lyons. The brawling continues, clearly setting up a singles match between Rizzo and Lyons.

Ethan Page is headed to the ring for a talking segment. Page begins a promo saying he is not finished with the NXT Championship. Page is quickly interrupted by Ridge Holland, who cuts a promo on Page. Holland says people are tired of Page getting title shots. Holland vows to be the next NXT champ.

Holland mentions Bubba Ray, or rather “Bully Ray” as Holland called him. Holland goes on to say Bubba made the best decision of his life by not accepting Trick’s offer from earlier in the show. That brings out Bubba Ray Dudley to confront Holland. Bubba at first puts over Holland, before Bubba asks Holland if he knows who Bubba is. Bubba is one-half of the greatest tag team on God’s green earth. Bubba continues his promo.

Holland responds by saying he does not care what Bubba has to say, as Bubba is not an active competitor anymore. Bubba is a radio host that sits behind a microphone. He does not live in Dudleyville anymore. Holland goes on bury ECW, calling it overrated instead of extreme. Holland threatens Bubba, and Bubba decks Holland with a punch. Page then jumps Bubba, and the two heels are beating down Bubba.

Trick runs in to make a save. He and Bubba clean house and clear the ring. Bubba then accepts Trick’s offer to team up for a tag match. Later, the match is made official. So, Bubba teaming with Trick against Holland and Page is set for the 2300 Arena next Wednesday.

Jaida Parker is the focus of a vignette, which hypes Parker’s street fight against Lola Vice next Wednesday.

Rhea Ripley appears in a cameo appearance, and she is attacked in a angle later on. Ripley comes into the women’s locker room to give the babyface team (in the 10-woman tag at 2300 Areana) a pep talk.

After a commercial break, Ripley is seen in the aftermath of an attack. Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio are leaving the scene as referees rush to aid Ripley, with Morgan even toting a baseball bat. Ripley is a bloody mess as she lay near her car. The show cuts to a commercial break with Ripley bleeding from the mouth.

NXT Tag Team Champions Nathan Frazier & Axiom defeated Cedric Alexander & Je’Von Evans to retain the titles

Axiom pinned Alexander to win the match, after Alexander was left alone to face the champs two-on-one. Evans left the match to brawl with Wes Lee. That would later lead to another RVD cameo. The champ retain here, but they were sort of an afterthought after the closing angle.

They all had a really good match, and the match itself goes through a commercial break. So, they were given plenty of time.

Alexander and Evans are getting to shine as the show cuts to its final commercial break. That match and high spots continue after the break. Evans gets a big save by breaking up a near fall with a RKO out of nowhere. Evans earlier got a close near fall off the springboard cutter.

Wes Lee enters the sound stage carrying a metal folding chair. This distracts Evans, and he leaps out of the ring to fight with Lee at ringside. Lee and Evans fight their way up the ramp as they exit the sound stage. That left Alexander alone against the champions. Alexander with final surge of momentum, and he fires up. Alexander with a Michinoku Driver for a close near fall. Alexander then climbs the turnbuckles, but he is superplexed instead. Frazier and Axiom then execute Chasing the Dragon, and Axiom covers Alexander for a pinfall.

TO THE BACK! Wes Lee and Je’Von Evans are brawling backstage. They are separated as Ava gets between them. RVD comes in and says this gives me a fantastic idea, and RVD says he will see them next Wednesday without releasing the idea. Lee and Evans then tie up again in a brawl as the show goes off air.

WWE NXT live results: Halloween Havoc go-home show

Tonight’s WWE NXT episode is the final stop before Halloween Havoc.

Five days out from their NXT Championship rematch, Trick Williams and Ethan Page will meet for a face-to-face confrontation. Page defeated Je’Von Evans and Wes Lee last week to earn a shot to reclaim the NXT title from Williams. He then left Williams laying to close the episode.

As determined by the Halloween Havoc wheel, it will be a Devil’s Playground match between Williams and Page this Sunday.

IYO SKY & Kairi Sane of Damage CTRL are in NXT tonight for a match against Lash Legend & Jakara Jackson. Another tag match will see Giulia & Stephanie Vaquer team up against Fallon Henley & Jacy Jayne.

Giulia & Vaquer will also be partners at Halloween Havoc, facing Roxanne Perez & Cora Jade.

Oba Femi takes on Luca Crusifino tonight ahead of challenging Tony D’Angelo for the NXT North American Championship in a Tables, Ladders & Scares match at Halloween Havoc. Also set for tonight is Jaida Parker vs. Tatum Paxley.

The show begins with footage from earlier today of wrestlers arriving to the building. First was NXT Champion Trick Williams and challenger Ethan Page. Then, the participants of the women’s tag match arrive. Their match is opening the show from a sound stage at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando.

Lash Legend & Jakara Jackson defeated IYO SKY & Kairi Sane via disqualification (I think)

Piper Niven & Chelsea Green interfere and run-in to attack Jackson & Legend for the DQ. Green & Niven then proceed to jump Sky & Sane as well. So the whole match might have been thrown out as a no-contest. Not sure since there was no official word. The finish was a cheap way out of doing an actual finish. Otherwise, this was a good match.

During the match, they played up the height difference with Legend against Sane. Legend went on to lift both Sky & Sane at the same time, and she “dribbled” both on the ropes. Sane counters Legend, and send both her and Jackson out to the floor. Sane jumps off the apron with a flying elbow, and Sky follows up with an Asai moonsault. Despite the height differences, Sky & Sane are standing tall as the show cuts to its first commercial break.

They come back from the break with a double down and hot tag to Sane. She is a house of fire, and she leaps off the top rope with a high cross for a two count. Sky & Sane do their pop-up flying elbow combo. The match continues, and it was getting good when Niven & Green run-in.

Niven grabs Jackson, pulls her out of the ring, and Niven clotheslines her at ringside. After the DQ, Niven & Green get into the ring to jump Sky & Sane. The heel duo leaves the Damage CTRL pair laying in the ring, along with Jackson & Legend. Green & Niven embrace and admire their handiwork.

Video clips from an angle shot from social media show Hank Walker & Tank Ledger hyping up the arrival of a special guest. I had a sudden flashback to wrestling of a my youth with a race car driver as a special guest on the show, and this ain’t Thurman “Sparky” Plugg neither. This guy’s name is apparently Cole Custer. This is shoot name, but it is so fitting on NXT. He is a NASCAR driver, and apparently quite successful.

In a confrontation with Cole, Hank, and Tank, the two members of OTM and Jaida Parker take exception to an outsider being featured on the show. This sets up a tag match later tonight with OTM against Hank & Tank, with the race car driver front row ringside. Parker is also up next in a singles match.

Karmen Petrovic and Ashante “Thee” Adonis are in skit straight out of the Ruthless Aggression era. Adonis thinks Petrovic is playing hard to get when Petrovic dodges his advances.

A video package hypes NXT at the 2300 Arena, playing up the ECW aspect.

Jaida Parker defeated Tatum Paxley

Parker pinned Paxley after a hip attack finisher. Paxley got some offense, but this seemed more about getting Parker over. They still had a competitive match, and Paxley got some near falls. Lola Vice runs down the aisle to try and presumably fight with Parker, but security holds her back.

Lexis King tries to talk his way into a Heritage Cup title match with Charlie Dempsey.

Je’Von Evans has words with NXT Tag Team Champions Nathan Frazier & Axiom, and then Evans runs into Wes Lee in a backstage skit. Cedric Alexander has to hold back Evans.

Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer are featured in a mini-doc that explores their history and arrival in NXT.

Tonya Harding angle of sorts, as Adrianna Rizzo is attacked backstage by a mystery assailant. The D’Angelo Family scramble as Luca Crusifino heads to the ring for the biggest match of his NXT run. D’Angelo stays behind to stay with Rizzo.

Oba Femi defeated Luca Crusifino

Femi pinned Crusifino after his powerbomb finisher. After the match, Femi zip-ties Tony D’Angelo to a ring post, and Femi makes him watch as he powerbombs Stacks through a table.

In the match itself, Crusifino took the fight to Femi, but Femi shrugged it off. Femi looked like a killer here. Femi gives Crusifino a Last Ride powerbomb, and Femi covers him for a pinfall.

In a post-match angle, Femi attacks both Crusifino and Stacks after the match. Stacks goes to check on Crusifino, but Femi tosses Stacks out of the ring. The beatdown by Femi on Crusifino continues.

Tony D’Angelo runs in trying to make a save. Femi sends him crashing into the ring steps. Femi then takes zip-ties, takes a long while, and he eventually zip-tied D’Angelo to a ring post. D’Angelo is forced to watch as Femi powerbombs Stacks through a table propped up on the barricade.

A vignette reveals the name of Zaria for the wrestler formerly known as DELTA.

In another vignette, Andre Chase cuts a promo on Ridge Holland. Chase reveals their match at Halloween Havoc is an ambulance match, playing on Chase doing an injury angle and leaving in an ambulance some time back. Holland would respond with a promo of his own later in the show.

NXT Champion Trick Williams and Ethan Page have a face-to-face confrontation ahead of their title match at Halloween Havoc. This segment went seemingly forever. It was good at points, but Page came off as more sympathetic character than Trick, which is probably not the point.

Page cuts a promo on Williams about he and Williams having a different path to NXT. Page did not have a Performance Center nor the greatest minds in wrestling coaching him like Trick has in NXT. Trick tries to interject, but Trick does not come off well. Not helping him is Page cutting a helluva promo on him.

Page asks Trick if he has ever been busted open. Page goes on to ask Trick if his flesh has ever been torn by a weapon. Has he ever tasted the mixture of blood and sweat. That copper and salt taste that is queasy, except it happens so many times you start to like it.

Page continues is promo on Trick, saying he is all flash with no fake confidence. Page attacked Trick last week to show him what was in store with The Devil’s Playground. Trick has the look, but Page insists Trick does have that devil in him. Page does. He has the devil in him.

Trick responds by mentioning all of his hard-fought opponents, but Page is not impressed. Page vows to win the title.

Sol Ruca defeated Karmen Petrovic

Ruca pinned Pertrovic after a Sol Snatcher. Ashante Adonis is in the crowd, and Petrovic is distracted by him. That costs her the match.

Nikkita Lyons is talking backstage with Tyriek Igwe & Tyson Dupont. Oba Femi walks by and gives Lyons a faux fur coat she dropped, and there was an enchanted moment between them.

Hank Walker & Tank Ledger (with Cole Custer) defeated OTM (Bronco Nima & Lucien Price with Jaida Parker)

Ledger pinned Nima to win the match, thanks in part to interference by Cole Custer. He was wearing a racing helmet at ringside, and Custer hit Nima with the helmet like he was Jimmy Hart managing the Nasty Boys in ’92. Except this time around that is somehow a babyface spot.

Lola Vice also ran in, and she kept Jaida Parker from interfering. They brawled at ringside, furthering their feud. In the ring, this was quite a hoss fight until the run-in and interference. After Custer hit Nima in the back with the helmet, Hank & Tank execute their Collision Course finisher. Ledger then covered Nima for the pinfall.

Nathan Frazeir demands a match with him and Axiom against Je’Von Evans and Cedric Alexander in a backstage skit with NXT GM Ava. That match was later made official as a NXT Tag Team Championship match for next week.

Ridge Holland’s response to Andre Chase is the focus of a vignette hyping their ambulance match.

Tony D’Angelo cuts a fiery promo on Oba Femi, threatening to kick his ass this Sunday.

On their way to the ring, Giulia & Stephanie Vaquer pass IYO SKY & Kairi Sane in the backstage area.

Giulia & Stephanie Vaquer defeated Fatal Influence (Fallon Henley & Jacy Jayne with Jaxmyn Nyz)

Vaquer pinned Jayne to win what was arguably the best match on the show. However, it was yet another bout on the show with outside interference. That was a crutch in the booking tonight. Regardless, they had a good match.

The match itself goes through a commercial break. Nyz interferes to help the heels, and the babyfaces are in peril as the show cuts to its final break. More fast-paced action as they return from the break, with Giulia getting the shine. Hot tag to Vaquer, and she runs wild.

Nyz tries to interfere, but NXT Women’s North American Champion Kelani Jordan runs in to make a save. Jordan lays out Nyz. In the ring, Giulia lands a running knee to set up the finisher. Vaquer with a package backbreaker on Jayne, and Vaquer covers her for a pinfall.

Lots of stuff in a very short time post-match, as they scramble to get everything in before the show goes off air.

Jordan raises the hands of Vaquer & Giulia after the match. NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez & Cora Jade stand on a perch overlooking the ring, and they exchanged words with Vaquer & Giulia. Meanwhile, Fatal Influence is on the ramp, where Jacy Jayne spins the wheel. It spots on “Spinner’s Choice,” but they are cut off before making a choice.

Suddenly, the lights go out and a Zaria vignette plays, and she appears live in the sound stage as the show goes off the air.

WWE NXT live results: Triple threat number one contender’s match

After two weeks on the road to kickstart the CW era, WWE NXT is back at the Performance Center tonight.

Headlining tonight’s episode is a triple threat number one contender’s match to determine who will challenge for the NXT title at Halloween Havoc. It will be Wes Lee vs. Ethan Page vs. Je’Von Evans with the winner advancing to face champion Trick Williams at the Sunday, October 27 PLE.

Stephanie Vaquer arrived in NXT last Tuesday and will have her first televised match tonight, taking on Wren Sinclair. Last week, Vaquer provided backup for Giulia against the duo of NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez and Cora Jade.

New NXT North American Champion Tony D’Angelo will hold a celebration following his victory over Oba Femi last week.

Plus, Nikkita Lyons is back in action against Lola Vice, Oro Mensah and Lexis King collide in a Gentleman’s Duel, and there will be a grudge match between Riley Osborne and Ridge Holland.

The show opens with new NXT North American Champion Tony D’Angelo seated in the ring at a table with a red tablecloth. His newly won title is propped up on the table next to a glass of wine. A lone spotlight shines down on “The Don” as he begins the show with an opening monologue.

D’Angelo says he wants to toast his glass to the former champion, the man who D’Angelo says broke him. D’Angelo goes on to say he baited Oba Femi, and D’Angelo used his pride against him. Tony D. then did the unthinkable and beat Femi for the title.

As “The Don” lifts his glass in a toast to Oba Femi, the theme song for the former champion blares over the loud speakers. Oba Femi enters the sound stage to confront Tony D’Angelo. After the entrance of Femi, the house lights are up as D’Angelo stands in the ring to meet Femi. Flanking Tony D. are Channing Lorenzo, Adriana Rizzo and Luca Crusifino.

Femi has to admit that D’Angelo got him. Femi congratulates D’Angelo on winning once, but it will not happen again. Femi says he is reclaiming his title at Halloween Havoc, and Femi adds that The Family will not be there (meaning they are likely barred from ringside). Femi exits the ring, and goes to the spin the wheel, and make the deal.

The wheels stops on TLS, which is Tables, Ladder and Scares. I get it, because of Halloween and all, but did they really need a silly name for such a serious rematch. Then again, I get scared for the wrestlers’ safety during most TLC matches, so maybe “scares” is more accurate.

Byron Saxton interviews Oro Mensah, ahead of the Gentlemen’s Duel. Lexis King interrupts Mensah, and King continues the pompous gimmick. King promises the best man will win.

Stephanie Vaquer defeated Wren Sinclair (with No Quarter Catch Crew)

Vaquer pinned Sinclair after a her finisher where she does a package piledriver into an ushigoroshi. Vaquer looks strong in her television debut, but Sinclair got some time to shine. Sinclair even got a near fall, but Vaquer cuts off Sinclair and catches her with a dragon screw. From there, they go home into the finish.

Vaquer got to showcase a lot of her offense, as this was character development for Vaquer. The live studio audience was receptive to her, and even more so after the angle that followed the match.

NXT Champion Roxanne Perez & Cora Jade run down to jump Vaquer. They begin to pummel and stomp Vaquer, when Giulia runs down for the save. Giulia fights off the heels, as Vaquer joins her in clearing the ring of the heel duo. Perez & Jade powder, but a tag match seems near. Vaquer would go on to issue the challenge for the match at Halloween Havoc.

Lexis King defeated Oro Mensah in a Gentlemen’s Duel match

King pinned Mensah with a cradle bridge. The rules of this gimmick match includes the old NWA rule where a wrestler cannot throw their opponent over the top rope. Also, a three count rule instead of a five count. No fighting on the floor, and they cannot strike their opponent on when they have four points of contact on the mat.

Although it was his own rules, they teased King being disqualified for almost throwing Mensah over the top rope. This was a pretty good match with the rules in place. For the finish, Mensah blocks The Coronation, and Mensah gets a near fall with a crucifix. King escapes and uses his feet to cradle Mensah, and King bridges into a pinning combination. The ref counted three, and Mensah wins the match.

Cedric Alexander & Je’Von Evans are chatting backstage with the NXT Tag Team Champions, Nathan Frazier & Axiom. In walks Wes Lee to interrupt, and gets into an argument with Evans ahead of them meeting in the triple threat main event.

After a commercial break, the show comes back with a series of video packages and plugs. Nikkita Lyons is the focus of a hype video. Her opponent tonight, Lola Vice, gets an entrance before the show cuts again to a commercial break. The entrance of Lyons comes after the break, in what is Lyons return bout on NXT television.

Lyons pinned Vice, thanks in large part to interference by Jaida Parker. Although Lyons won, the heat was more on Parker, as Vice against Parker is an ongoing program.

Just before they go home, Vice fires up with a series of kicks. Vice signals and executes a hip attack. In runs Jaida Parker to interfere. Parker distracts Vice, and Vice knocks Parker off the ring apron. The distraction allows Lyons to hit Vice with a superkick. At ringside, Parker hits Vice with a hip attack. Vice is rolled back into the ring, where Lyons executes a Vader splash. Lyons then covers Vice for a pinfall.

Meeting with NXT GM Ava in her office is Stephanie Vaquer and Giulia. Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley & Jaxmyn Nyx) barge in to interrupt them. Ava offers a North American title match to Fatal Influence if they can beat Vaquer & Giulia in a match next Tuesday. Fatal Influence agree. Freebird rules I guess, as we do not known which two of Fatal Influence will face Vaquer & Giulia.

Riley Osborne gets a full entrance with Thea Hail, and the show cuts to commercial. Enjoy while you can, kid. Ridge Holland arrives after the show returns from the break, and he proceeds to pummel Osborne.

Holland pinned Osborne in a decisive win. A post-match beatdown by Holland leads to the surprise return of Andre Chase. He runs in to make the save.

Osborne strikes before the bell, as he dives on Holland during Holland’s entrance. It was all downhill for Osborne from there, but he looked good in the ring while putting over Holland. Setting up the finish, Holland does a gutwrench into a Sid Vicious powerbomb. Holland then hoists up Osborne for the Redeemer DDT, and Holland easily covers Osborne for a pinfall.

Osborne got some hope spots, and he also executed a tornado DDT on the floor. They fought near the announce desk, which would foreshadow a key moment in the post-match attack. Holland would attack Osborne again after the bell. Holland is pummeling him, and Holland teasing putting Osborne through the announce desk. Suddenly, Andre Chase runs down and is a house of fire. Chase sends Holland packing, and Chase sends Holland out of the ring.

Byron Saxton is interviewing Tatum Paxley, and they are discussing Paxley’s feud with Wendy Choo. Jaida Parker, flanked by OTM, interrupt the interview, and she steals Saxton away for a promo of her own. Parker is cutting a promo on Vice when Paxley takes exception to Parker’s interruption. This would seem to set up a match between the two.

Brooks Jensen (with Shawn Spears) defeated Ashante “Thee” Adonis

Jensen pinned Adonis after a draping DDT and a few distractions. Karmen Petrovic causes a distraction at ringside, and Shawn Spears also interferes to set up the finish.

This match itself was set up earlier in the show with a skit where Jensen stomps on roses that Adonis had given to Karmen Pertrovic. She appears at ringside during the match with a bag. Petrovic empties the bag on the ring apron, and the tattered rose pedals fall out. This distracts Adonis, and ultimately costs him the match. But maybe he at least has romance with Petrovic, who appears to be turning heel.

For the finish, Adonis is already distracted by Petrovic as he climbs the turnbuckles. Spears jumps on the apron and grabs the top rope, which trips up Adonis. He is crotched on the top turnbuckle, and Jensen strikes with a draping DDT. Jensen then covers Adonis for a three count.

Another video package hypes the arrival of DELTA, although she is still not identified by name.

Lexis King is gloating about his win tonight with Charlie Dempsey and company. King passe by Tony D’Angelo and The Family. Luca Crusifino wants to face Oba Femi in a singles match, and “The Don” gives his blessing to the match.

Iyo Sky & Kairi Sane against Jakara Jackson & Lash Legend in a tag team match is announced for next Tuesday on NXT. Another women’s tag match is confirmed for next week, with Giulia & Vaquer teaming against two members of Fatal Influence.

Ethan Page defeated Je’Von Evans and Wes Lee in a triple threat number one contender’s match

Page steals a pin from Evans, and Page pins Evans in the process. Clever finish to put heat on Page, while keeping Evans strong. Lots of action and other clever spots, albeit at a rapid pace. Page ambushes Trick Williams in a post-match angle where they spin the wheel.

Just before the show is cutting to its final commercial break, Page backdrops Lee on the announce desk. Page is proud of himself, thinking he is clever. All of a sudden, Evans comes flying over the top rope to wipe out Page with a dive. The show cuts to commercials as Evans takes his turn to boast.

The fast-paced high spots continue when the show returns from the break. Page begins to run roughshod on both Lee and Evans. Page gets a near falls where Lee flew in to break up the count. Lee soon some time to shine, as gets a near falls. That leads to the studio audience starting a “N-X-T” chant.

All three fall for a triple down. The studio audience again start “N-X-T”, along with some “fight forever” because why not?

Evans leaps to the top rope to execute a great Spanish Fly. Evans springs off the ropes to deliver a jumping kick for a close near fall. Evans gets another near fall on Lee, after a springboarding into a cutter.

They set up a Tower of Down as they go home. Evans sticks the landing. After landing on his feet, Evans boots Page out of the ring with a superkick. Evans then leaps off the top rope with a tornillo splash. Evans seemingly has victory in his grasp when Page jumps in to roll-up Evans with a cradle for a three count. Page steals the pinfall, and becomes number one contender in doing so.

Page cuts a promo after the match, when Page calls out NXT Champion Trick Williams. Out comes Williams to face off with Page. They spin the wheel to make the deal. The wheel stops on “Devil’s Playground” for their rematch. So whatever that means. Weapons I am sure, and no disqualification. Another serious rematch is made silly with a cheesy gimmick match, and this one happens to involve the brand’s top men’s championship. I guess it is still for a good cause, which is a Halloween-themed PLE.

Trick is cool with the gimmick match, and he poses with the NXT title. Page cheap shots Trick and waylays him with a lighting fixture. Page grabs the title belt and stands over Trick as the show goes off the air.

Overall, this was good show. However, they never explained the wheel gimmick that well for those that are likely unaware. Likewise, the wheel gimmick came off so silly. It detracts from the current feuds instead of complimenting them.
