As he and Wai prepare for their fifth anniversary party on Saturday afternoon in Newark, New Jersey, prior to AEW Full Gear, I invited John back to talk about what the duo has learned over the past five years and where they hope to be in the next five.

We also chat about his experience at Dynamite and Rampage in Toronto and details about Saturday’s live event.

Left My Wallet: POST Wrestling’s John Pollock on Toronto sports, WrestleMania

‘Left My Wallet’ is back with POST Wrestling and former Live Audio Wrestling co-host John Pollock.

Many subscribers to the site know John from his work with Wai-Ting for years on the LAW’s Review-A-Wai and various other shows, and now he joins me to talk about the burgeoning Toronto sports scene, his WrestleMania week, POST Wrestling, and so much more.

John talks about the precipitous fall over the last few years of the Toronto Blue Jays, why the team went from a contender to a cellar dweller, his thoughts on Vladimir Guerrero Jr., the Rogers Centre and network, and more.

We then break down some of the NHL playoffs including the Columbus Blue Jackets’ stunning series upset over the Tampa Bay Lightning, the frustrating playoff history of his Toronto Maple Leafs, their lack of success against the Bruins, and which team he thinks might come out of the East.

We round out our Toronto sports talk with the city’s hottest franchise, the Toronto Raptors. John tells of his memories going to games in their inaugural season, his love of Damon Stoudamire, their huge upset of Jordan and the ’96 Bulls, Vince Carter, what the city thinks of Kawhi Leonard, and their playoff outlook.

Finally, John talks about his WrestleMania week in NYC, his highlights, a chance meeting with Ric Flair, he and Wai’s journey to Bloodsport, and much more!

It’s a fun and enjoyable hour with one of Canada’s foremost wrestling journalists and a great friend to the site.

JNPO: Au revoir, Georges St-Pierre

Image: CBC

Even though a great Canadian retired Thursday in Montreal, another Canadian icon ready to take his place.

On a new Josh Nason’s Punch-Out, POST Wrestling co-founder John Pollock returns for an hour-long edition of the podcast, hitting on three main topics and splintering off from there.

We begin with the retirement announcement of Georges St-Pierre, his relationship with Dana White the past few years, the situation around the Khabib Nurmagomedov fight not happening, and who we wish we had seen him fight before he retired.

We then transition to some POST Wrestling updates which veers off to some talk about the media and why they can’t be blamed for everything.

Finally, I get to vent a bit about Bellator MMA after a near disastrous weekend that saw one main event end due to a groin shot and another that was a complete dud despite a huge build-up.

JNPO 100: The post-UFC/ESPN TV deal supershow

Nearly three years to the day after it started, the 100th edition of Josh Nason’s Punch-Out is here, just in time to discuss the big news that UFC is heading to ESPN.

Helping me talk through all the major questions, answers, and thoughts on the deal are three fine gentlemen: Post Wrestling’s John Pollock, Awful Announcing managing editor Joe Lucia, and Awful Announcing sports media writer Andrew Bucholtz.

– John kicks off the show and we discussed both the UFC and rumored WWE TV deals and why I think it shows that ultimately, the opinions of the fanbases no longer matter. We also hit on Ariel Helwani departing to ESPN, how MMA Fighting can recover, his thoughts on Mauro Ranallo’s documentary, and John’s experience with Post Wresting nearly six months after it launched.

– We then go to old friend Andrew for a more business-minded discussion of the UFC/ESPN deal with all the financial fixings.

– We close out with first-time guest Joe as we work through his five questions he wants answered now that the ink is dry on the UFC/ESPN deal.

We have had a lot of great conversation and guests over the past three years, so I’m happy to present the 100th edition of the show with more of it. Thank you for the support!

JNPO: Inside the launch of POST Wrestling

For years, John Pollock and Wai Ting were known to wrestling fans for their work on Live Audio Wrestling, The Fight Network, and a popular podcast series that reviewed weekly wrestling shows.

In late-October, the two were laid off from The Fight Network but instead of folding into corporate life and podcasting as a hobby, the two developed POST Wrestling over the past two months, part free and part funded by Patreon — now with over 800 people funding their operation at a minimum of $6/head.

On the latest Josh Nason’s Punch-Out, Pollock answers all the questions you have about the story behind the launch, the decision to enter into the paid content realm, whether the LAW show will come back in their new endeavor, whether he’ll cover MMA, and plenty more.

Then, the guys talk for about 15-20 minutes about MMA going into 2018 and some high-level thoughts about Saturday’s UFC 219 show.

It’s the final JNPO of 2017 and it’s free for you to listen to. Happy New Year!
