First team set for Impact Knockouts Tag Team title tournament finals

The first team has booked their spot in Impact Wrestling’s Knockouts Tag Team title tournament finals.

On Tuesday’s episode of Impact, Tasha Steelz & Kiera Hogan defeated Taya Valkyrie & Rosemary to advance to the finals of the Knockouts Tag Team title tournament. Steelz & Hogan got the win after Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo and Kimber Lee interfered during the match and took out Rosemary. Valkyrie & Rosemary had defeated Purrazzo & Kimber Lee in the first round of the tournament. At Final Resolution this past Saturday, Purrazzo retained her Knockouts title against Rosemary.

Steelz & Hogan will face either Jordynne Grace & Jazz or Havok & Nevaeh in the finals of the tournament. The finals are being held at Impact’s Hard to Kill pay-per-view on Saturday, January 16.

In the first round of the tournament, Steelz & Hogan defeated The Sea Stars (Ashley Vox & Delmi Exo). Grace & Jazz and Havok & Nevaeh advanced to the semifinals with respective wins over Killer Kelly & Renee Michelle and Tenille Dashwood & Alisha Edwards.

Impact hasn’t announced when the Grace & Jazz vs. Havok & Nevaeah semifinal match will be airing. The next two weeks of Impact episodes will be holiday specials.

The team that wins the tournament will become the first Knockouts Tag Team Champions since the titles were deactivated in 2013.

Knockouts Tag Team title tournament resuming on Tuesday’s Impact

The Knockouts Tag Team Title tournament will resume on Tuesday’s Impact as Kiera Hogan and Tasha Steelz will face Taya Valkyrie and Rosemary in the first semifinal match.

Hogan and Steelz advanced with a win over the debuting Sea Stars (Delmi Exo and Ashley Vox) while Valkyrie and Rosemary upset Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo and Kimber Lee on this past week’s Impact to advance.

The winner will face the winner of Jordynne Grace and Jazz vs. Havok and Nevaeh with the finals set for their January Hard To Kill pay-per-view on January 16th. The new champions will be the first team to hold the belts since they were deactivated in 2013.

This is the only match announced for Tuesday thus far as Final Resolution is set for this Saturday featuring World Champion Rich Swann vs. Chris Bey, Purrazzo defending against Rosemary, Ethan Page vs. Karl Anderson with a Tag Team Title shot on the line, and more. The nine bout card will air on Impact Plus.

Final first round match of Knockouts Tag Title tourney set for next Impact

The last quarterfinal match of the Knockouts Tag Team Titles tournament is set for next Tuesday’s Impact Wrestling as Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo will team with Kimber Lee to face Taya and Rosemary.

The winner will move on to face Kiera Hogan and Tasha Steelz in the second round. Jordynne Grace and Jazz advanced Tuesday and will face Havok and Nevaeh in the second round on a future show. The finals are set for January’s Hard To Kill pay-per-view.

Three other matches were announced for next week:

  • Josh Alexander vs. Chris Sabin: In a battle of former Tag Team Champions, The North’s Alexander will face the Motor City Machine Guns’ Sabin.
  • Brian Myers vs. TJP: This was made Tuesday when Myers was insulting Crazzy Steve backstage following his failed bid to win the X Division title. TJP had enough and challenged Myers.
  • Eric Young vs. Cody Deaner: The former Impact World Champion and new friend Joe Doering continued his string of run-in attacks as Deaner was wrestling Johnny Swinger.

Jazz set for Impact Knockouts Tag Team title tournament

Former WWE and NWA Women’s Champion Jazz is taking part in Impact Wrestling’s Knockouts Tag Team title tournament.

On tonight’s episode of Impact, it was announced that Jazz will make her Impact Wrestling in-ring debut as Jordynne Grace’s partner in the Knockouts Tag Team title tournament. They’re facing Killer Kelly & Renee Michelle in a first round match on Impact next Tuesday. The winning team will advance to face Havok & Nevaeh in the semifinals of the tournament.

There had been a teaser on last week’s Impact where Grace revealed she would be teaming with someone who recently said they were retiring. Jazz did an interview on tonight’s show and said she wants to end her career on top by winning the Knockouts Tag Team titles.

Jazz had announced her retirement during an interview with Chris Van Vliet last month: “Honestly, I just had my last match this past Sunday. I am done in the ring. I was going to do a whole tour in 2020, but with the pandemic happening, that screwed everything up. I’ve been having issues with my knees and my back and a lot more issues physically, mentally and emotionally. That’s why I had to forfeit the NWA title. I have two beautiful daughters and I have to focus on them right now.”

Deonna Purrazzo & Kimber Lee vs. Taya Valkyrie & Rosemary is the only other remaining first round match in the Knockouts Tag Team title tournament. The team that wins that match will advance to face Kiera Hogan & Tasha Steelz in the semifinals.

The finals of the Knockouts Tag Team title tournament are taking place at Impact’s Hard to Kill pay-per-view on Saturday, January 16.

Impact reveals start date for Knockouts Tag title tournament

Impact Wrestling has revealed a couple of additional details regarding their revival of the Knockouts Tag Team titles.

It was revealed last night that the tournament to crown new Knockouts Tag Team Champions will kick off on Impact in three weeks (Tuesday, November 17). It will be an eight-team tournament, though the teams for it have yet to be revealed.

There was a segment on last night’s Impact where Tasha Steelz & Kiera Hogan, Jessicka Havok & Neveah, Jordynne Grace, Alisha Edwards, and Tenille Dashwood wanted to know more about the return of the titles. Steelz & Hogan mocked Edwards for not having any friends, which led to Grace agreeing to team with Edwards against Steelz & Hogan later in the show. Steelz & Hogan got the win when Steelz rolled up Edwards. Steelz had moved out of the way of a charge and Edwards accidentally hit Grace. Grace and Edwards argued and shoved each other after the match and Grace walked out.

The announcement that the Knockouts Tag Team titles are returning was made at Bound for Glory this past Saturday. The tournament will play out on Impact, with the finals then being held at January’s Hard to Kill pay-per-view. Hard to Kill is taking place on Saturday, January 16.

The Knockouts Tag Team titles were first introduced in 2009 before being deactivated in 2013.
