Dominik Mysterio performs opening ceremony for San Diego FC

The 2026-27 MLS season has officially begun, and Dominik Mysterio was present at the stadium for the honors.

In the 2026-27 MLS season and San Diego’s opening match at their home stadium of Snapdragon Stadium, San Diego, California, WWE Intercontinental and AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio was present to perform the opening ceremony.

In an Instagram story posted by the team, Mysterio revealed his role for the Saturday, February 21 matchday. “What’s up, everybody? It is your boy, ‘Dirty’ Dominik Mysterio, in my beautiful hometown of San Diego, California. And I am so excited to be the keeper of the flow at SDFC’s Home opener.”

Shortly after, San Diego FC uploaded a video of Mysterio performing the ceremonial pre-match ritual. The 29-year-old was the first Keeper for the 2026 MLS season home opener. Soon, as the fireworks hit, Mysterio shut his ears before walking away.

As of this writing, San Diego FC leads 4-0 against CF Montreal on matchday 1 of this season.

Stipulations revealed for Mega title match at AAA Rey de Reyes

The stakes are high for the Mega title match at AAA Rey de Reyes, with the stipulations now confirmed.

On March 14, 2026, El Hijo del Vikingo will challenge Dominik Mysterio for his AAA Mega Championship at Auditorio GNP Seguros in Puebla in a no-disqualification match. The stipulations for the match includes if Mysterio wins, Vikingo cannot challenge for the title as long as Mysterio is the champion. If Vikingo wins, Mysterio must leave AAA forever.

In the main event of the February 21 edition of AAA on Fox, fans witnessed the contract signing between Mysterio and Vikingo. While the Mexican luchador had previously asked Mysterio to put his hair on line, he appeared with a new set of stipulations on Saturday’s episode. Vikingo previously earned a title shot at Mysterio’s Mega title by winning a multi-man match.

Saturday’s main event segment concluded with Omos confronting Mysterio. However, Ludwig Kaiser’s El Grande Americano appeared in time to make the save and escorted the champion away. Although the situation changed when the original El Grande Americano attacked the current one. Mysterio watched the chaos unfold for a moment before ultimately walking out.

AAA Rey de Reyes lineup | March 14, 2026

  • Dominik Mysterio (c) vs. El Hijo del Vikingo for the AAA Mega Championship
  • Pagano and Psycho Clown (c) vs. War Raiders (Erik and Ivar) for the AAA World tag team titles
  • La Parka vs. “The Original” El Grande Americano vs 2 pending opponents, in the Rey de Reyes tournament final to determine the number 1 contender for the AAA Mega Championship
  • El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. (c) vs. Santos Escobar for the AAA Latin American Championship

WWE announces partnership with Dude Wipes, includes ‘first-of-its-kind integration’

WWE has entered into a partnership with hygiene company Dude Wipes that includes a “first-of-its-kind” sponsorship integration.

It was announced today that WWE and Dude Wipes have agreed to a multi-year partnership that, along with the typical sponsorship opportunities, will include Dude Wipes branding being featured on Dominik Mysterio’s gear. Mysterio was first spotted wearing a shirt with the Dude Wipes logo on the February 9 episode of Raw.

“As an Official Partner of WWE, Dude Wipes will have a prominent presence across high-profile WWE events and platforms, strategically activating through enhanced match sponsorships at Premium Live Events, including SummerSlam 2026, curated social and digital content, and a custom Dude Wipes commercial featuring WWE Superstars,” WWE announced.

“Additionally, reigning Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio, known for his rebellious in-ring persona and cultural resonance, will participate in a first-of-its-kind integration in which his signature gear will feature Dude Wipes branding during every in-ring appearance on WWE programming, including Monday Night Raw and various PLEs. The integration debuted this past Monday on Raw, when Mysterio returned to in-ring action wearing his recognizable bandana rib cage t-shirt incorporated with Dude Wipes branding.”

Mysterio, the current Intercontinental Champion and AAA Mega Champion, is now back in action after suffering a shoulder injury in late December 2025. He participated in a triple threat Elimination Chamber qualifying match on Raw last night but lost out to Je’Von Evans.

Dude Wipes was founded in 2011 and is a male-focused company that sells wet wipes as an alternative to toilet paper.

Number one contender for Intercontinental title set on WWE Raw

A new number one contender for the Intercontinental title is set.

Penta defeated El Grande Americano to earn a future title match on Monday’s Raw. The finish had Rayo and Bravo attempt to interfere on behalf of Americano, only for the original Americano to emerge, laying out both Americanos. The distraction allowed Penta to strike with the Mexican destroyer to score the victory, earning an Intercontinental title match against Dominik Mysterio.

Earlier on the show, the second Americano complained to Adam Pearce that he wanted something since the Original El Grande Americano got an Elimination Chamber qualifying match that will take place next week. Pearce said he wouldn’t give him anything, but would put him in a number one contender’s match later in the night against a mystery opponent.

Mysterio has held the title since last April, winning it at WrestleMania 41. John Cena defeated him for the title on the November 10 edition of Raw, but Mysterio won it back days later at Survivor Series thanks to a returning Liv Morgan.

WWE Raw live results: Elimination Chamber qualifiers continue

Date: February 16, 2026
Location: FedExForum in Memphis, TN

The Big Takeaway —

A dull Raw show saw Asuka and Je’Von Evans win qualifying matches as they tread water towards Elimination Chamber.

Next week’s show in Atlanta will feature a tribute to AJ Styles.

Show Recap —

An establishing shot of Beale Street in Memphis was followed by shots of Gunther, Bayley and Lyra Valkyria, Liv Morgan (greeting Michael Cole for a scheduled interview), CM Punk (wearing a Cubs hat) and AJ Lee hanging around the arena in Memphis earlier today.

Jey and Jimmy Uso entered the crowd, but their energetic entrance was cut off by the voice of Paul Heyman, who entered with The Vision. (The Usos remained in the crowd.) Logan Paul wanted the fans to listen to Heyman, because his words of wisdom were as valuable as the most valuable trading card in the world—which Logan just sold for $16-million.

They showed a replay of a masked man costing Austin Theory his qualifying match last week. Theory complained about it until Adam Pearce interrupted. Pearce wanted them to go to his office to talk like adults. Theory wanted justice right now.

Pearce said Theory screwed himself. If it weren’t for Theory’s stablemates tying up his security, they would have handled the masked man before he could get involved.

Heyman wanted Pearce to put Bronson Reed in the Elimination Chamber match. Pearce said he knew about the phone calls Heyman was making to go over his head. Pearce had no problem with Reed in the Chamber—so long as he wins his qualifier next week.

Pearce urged them to leave the ring so they could continue with the show, but LA Knight interrupted next. Knight said the Vision screwed themselves. Theory wasn’t going to WrestleMania, and Reed was next on his list. Knight wanted Reed to qualify for the Chamber so Knight could kick his ass.

Logan mocked Knight for getting put through a car by Reed, so Knight mocked Logan’s voice and called him a broccoli-haired bitch. Knight suggested to Pearce that he make a six-man match right now, and he would gladly team with The Usos, even though he doesn’t particularly like them either. Pearce made it official.

The Usos (who waited patiently in the crowd this entire time) had their music played again, and they entered. A brawl broke out during a break, and the match commenced once things settled down. (I’m curious why the Usos were coming out to begin with.)

It appears Logan Paul is the de facto leader of The Vision with Bron Breakker out.

Six-man tag team match: LA Knight, Jey Uso & Jimmy Uso vs. Logan Paul, Bronson Reed & Austin Theory (w/ Paul Heyman)

Reed and Theory used a double-team to take control over Knight, and they had the heat on him for a good 6-7 minutes, including the full duration of a commercial break. Knight fought to make a tag, but Reed cut him off and hit a senton for two after Jimmy broke up the cover.

Knight dodged another senton and made the hot tag to Jey Uso. Jey hit Paul with clotheslines, right hands and a running hip attack for two as the fans Yeeted along. Jey speared Paul, but Theory broke up the cover. Knight posted Theory and gave him a BFT outside the ring before Reed tackled Knight through the timekeeper’s barricade.

Paul blocked a Jey superkick and hit a Zig Zag for two. Jey superkicked Paul as Jimmy tagged himself in. They hit superkicks and a 1D, but Reed broke up the cover. Reed headbutted Jey out of the ring and wiped out both Usos with a great-looking suicide dive.

Paul punched Jimmy with his loaded right hand, and Reed followed with a Tsunami for the pinfall win.

(So Knight challenged them to a fight, got beaten up for most of it, and his team lost.)

— Paul grabbed Cole’s headset to brag about the win when the masked man suddenly appeared and gave him a curb stomp onto the announce table. Reed and Theory chased the masked man away through the crowd.

Match result: Bronson Reed, Logan Paul & Austin Theory defeated Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso & LA Knight (12:53)

********

Next week, there will be two more Chamber triple threat qualifying matches. Iyo Sky, Raquel Rodriguez, and Kairi Sane on the women’s side. Reed, Jey Uso, and The Original El Grande Americano (Chad Gable) on the men’s side.

A delivery guy named Eli alerted Pearce to a large wooden crate with “Deliver to WWE” and “Do not open until 02/28/26” (the date of the Chamber) written on it. Pearce was annoyed that Eli seemed to know nothing about its contents and told him to send it to SmackDown so Nick Aldis could deal with it. (Eli had a clipboard with nothing but a blank piece of paper on it.)

El Grande Americano (Ludwig Kaiser) and his buddies confronted Pearce about giving the other Americano a Chamber qualifier. El Grande wanted something else if he couldn’t be in the Chamber and suggested an IC title shot. Pearce offered him a chance to earn a shot tonight. (So, a second impromptu match tonight.)

********

Triple threat Elimination Chamber qualifying match: Asuka vs. Nattie vs. Bayley

Nattie was introduced as being from “Calgary
Alberta, Canada” and representing the Hart Family dungeon. To show off her aggressive side, she got right in Asuka’s face upon entering, but they were separated by referee Jessika Carr. The announcers talked about Nattie’s lineage and called her the only woman to survive the dungeon.

Nattie was allowed to shine early, and she had control going into a break. Bayley fought back after the break and hit a diving elbow drop to Nattie’s back for two. Nattie was trapped in the tree of woe, but instead of a convoluted three-way spot, Bayley elbow-dropped Nattie and gave Asuka a superplex. Nattie broke up the cover.

Nattie gave Asuka a discus clothesline before Bayley gave Nattie a back suplex. Bayley gave Asuka a diving elbow drop, but Nattie broke up the cover again. Nattie gave Bayley a German suplex on the apron but spent too much time admiring her work, so Asuka caught her in the Asuka Lock. Nattie broke free and hit a sit-out powerbomb. (An announcer said Nattie was adding moves to her arsenal, but she’s done that many times before.)

Nattie applied a Sharpshooter but Bayley broke it up with a running knee. Asuka knocked Nattie out of the ring with a running hip attack before Bayley hit Asuka with Bayley-to-belly for a close nearfall. Bayley and Asuka traded counters until Asuka shoved Bayley into the ropes, and she knocked Nattie off the apron in the process.

Asuka caught Bayley in the Asuka Lock, and Bayley quickly tapped out. Asuka advances to Elimination Chamber.

— Maxxine Dupri attacked Nattie from behind on the stage as the fans began chanting “Whoop that Trick.” They were pulled apart by officials.

Match result: Asuka defeated Bayley and Nattie to qualify for the Women’s Elimination Chamber (10:28)

A pretty good match that the fans did not care about at all. They got into the Bayley-to-belly nearfall, but that was about it. Nattie’s character obviously hasn’t connected on any level yet and probably won’t. She’s winless since introducing this side of her.

********

Backstage, Pearce handed Oba Femi a contract and told him that SmackDown won’t be able to beat it. Femi said he’d need time to decide. Femi was confronted by Rusev (who barely got a reaction). Rusev wore his old “Happy Rusev Day” shirt under his jacket. They stared at each other for a while until Femi left.

Liv Morgan sit-down interview

Morgan sat down with Cole for a sit-down interview earlier today, but they were immediately joined by Dominik Mysterio, who pulled up a chair next to Morgan.

She said she would not rush her WrestleMania decision. She did not grind for ten years to let this moment pass her by. Stephanie Vaquer joined next and pulled up a chair next to Cole. Vaquer cut a very long promo in Spanish, and Dom was aghast at what she was saying. He quietly translated into Morgan’s ear, and she broke out into tears after Vaquer left. Cole was perplexed. This was
 something.

********

CM Punk and Finn Bålor segment

Punk entered to a big reaction. He said the fans seemed happy to see him, but the office wasn’t. Pearce claimed he was jeopardizing the WrestleMania main event. (Fans booed, so Punk responded, “Yeah! Boo Adam Pearce!”) Punk said he was doing what he always did, and that was make everything better. Sports teams qualify for the playoffs, but they still show up to play their regular season games.

The fans deserved a fighting champion, just like Finn BĂĄlor deserved a title shot in Belfast for everything he’s done in his career. Now, BĂĄlor was getting a title shot because he earned it—earned to get an ass-beating. BĂĄlor jumped him in Toronto a few weeks ago and ruined the last time he’d get to share the ring with AJ Styles.

Punk often said things that pissed people off. He wouldn’t be who he was if he didn’t often say things that pissed people off. The fans wouldn’t love him, either. Punk was a fighting champion and the best in the world. That wasn’t Roman Reigns or Finn BĂĄlor.

BĂĄlor interrupted, flanked by Dominik and the returning JD McDonagh. They surrounded the ring like The Shield, but BĂĄlor said they weren’t out there to fight. BĂĄlor wanted to make something clear. To be the best in the world, you had to train with the best catch wrestlers in Europe, learn with the best luchadors in Mexico, survive the toughest dojos in Japan, and show up to Raw and beat Roman Reigns on your first night. So as far as BĂĄlor was concerned, he was the best in the world. BĂĄlor wouldn’t be jeopardizing the WrestleMania main event. He would beat Punk and make it better.

Punk asked him what the two idiots were doing with him. Punk said, “I know who you are. I’m sorry, I misspoke. I know who you were.” All those great things that BĂĄlor did, he did it by himself. He didn’t see Judgment Day by his side when he had all his past success. BĂĄlor used to mean something. Judgment Day has been an anchor around his neck. Normally, someone like BĂĄlor could elevate guys like them, but they were just dragging him down. Dom had two belts and never defended them. McDonagh’s head was so big that it made it hard for him to get into the ring. (Fans chanted, “Bobblehead.”)

Punk called himself a smart guy who sometimes did dumb things. He turned his back and gave them a free shot. Punk knew he was the best in the world, but didn’t need help to prove it. But maybe BĂĄlor did. (There were more random chants of “Whoop that Trick” in here.)

Punk’s words got to Bálor. McDonagh was about to jump Punk, but Bálor stopped him. Punk tossed the mic at them and left the ring.

********

Byron Saxton interviewed Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky. He asked how they were holding things together after everything they’ve had to go through (tag title defences and Chamber qualifiers). Ripley admitted that SmackDown was a battle. Nia Jax and Lash Legend thought they could take the tag titles, but they failed. They turned up the heat, so it was time for Rhiyo to put them out.

Sky was about to talk about her qualifier, but they were interrupted by Kairi Sane and Asuka. Sane said Asuka was in the Chamber and they would make sure that Ripley and Sky would never win it. Asuka wanted Sane to make it clear that their goal was to make her (Asuka) the champion. Asuka told Rhiyo they were not ready for the Chamber.

********

El Grande Americano (w/ Bravo & Rayo Americano) vs. Penta

They went to break one minute into the match. El Grande tried going for Penta’s mask, so Penta tried the same. El Grande used a distraction to take control, but Penta yanked him off the top rope and hit a Penta Driver for a nearfall. Penta knocked Rayo off the apron before El Grande hit a running headbutt for two.

Rayo distracted the referee while Bravo attempted to give El Grande the metal plate. However, the Original El Grande Americano yanked him under the ring.

The Original El Grande gave Bravo a Chaos Theory and dumped Rayo over the announce table. Penta flew in and gave El Grande (Kaiser) a Canadian Destroyer for the pinfall win.

— After the match, Gable gave Kaiser a Chaos Theory. Gable tried taking off Kaiser’s mask, but he was pulled to safety by the other two.

Match result: Penta defeated El Grande Americano (Ludwig Kaiser) (7:56)

You don’t need to watch this.

********

Backstage, McDonagh tried to talk sense into BĂĄlor. He was embarrassed watching what happened to BĂĄlor in Belfast, and thought they should injure Punk ahead of their match. BĂĄlor wanted to do this on his own. BĂĄlor stormed off, and McDonagh was not happy. Dom was concerned that they left because he still had his own match tonight.

Kofi Kingston and Grayson Waller cut a promo during a break. Kingston announced that Xavier Woods injured his shoulder, and has been wrestling injured for months, but was no longer cleared by medical. (The way he announced this was meant to get a pop from the crowd, but they didn’t care.) Waller read a prepared statement from Woods where he buried Memphis.

********

AJ Lee and Becky Lynch segment

Lee entered. She said she had fun getting under Becky Lynch’s skin, and it was so easy. But Lynch reminded her that this was serious business after ramming her into the ring post. Lee hasn’t had a singles match in over a decade, let alone a title shot.

The last time she had a title around her waist, the division looked a little different. All they had to fight for was a sparkly, pink butterfly, but she loved that title. She wore that title proudly because she made that title. She wasn’t modest—she knew exactly who the hell she was. There was a Women’s division before her, and a Women’s division after. That was her gift to all of them. (Meaning, there was no longer a Diva’s division.)

Lee still wanted to get her hands on everyone back there. She wanted to fight Bayley, Valkyria, Ripley, Sky, Asuka, Sane, Judgment Day, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss, but for now, all roads led back to Lynch. Lee wasn’t sure why Lynch was so bad. Maybe because she came back, or that her merch does better, or that the fans like her more. But she gave Lynch a ten year headstart, and she still hasn’t caught up. (It’s good to show confidence, but that’s a lie.)

Lynch gave Lee a gift. Without her, maybe Lee would not have come back. But she had a chance to show she can still be a champion. If she walked out of Chicago victorious, she’d get to walk into Mania as IC champion. Lee called out Lynch.

Lynch entered. She was amused that Lee thought this was her chance to get a title run. This was an opportunity to gather all of her friends and family and give her a send-off. The retirement match she never got or even deserved. They could all cry while Lynch shoves away Lee’s hearse. Lee’s gift to them was when she left. Lynch has been making history for ten years, while Lee made comic books.

Lee invited her into the ring to fight right now. Lynch wasn’t biting, so Lee took a page from Punk’s book and offered her the first shot. Lee put her hands behind her back, but Lynch still wouldn’t hit her. Lynch acted frustrated (another less-than-stellar acting performance) and said she knew Lee was just trying to have an excuse ready for when she lost. Lynch declined and left the ring.

(There was another “Whoop that Trick” chant when Lee challenged Lynch for a fight, so the crowd was chanting anytime there was a chance at a brawl.)

********

The Vision confronted Pearce backstage. Theory was pissed that Pearce let his brother Logan be attacked by the masked man. Theory was getting in Pearce’s face, so Heyman urged Theory and Paul to head to the jet. Pearce said the masked man was a problem for him, too. Reed said he would solve the masked man problem when he got his hands on him. Pearce thanked him for this.

********

Cole said the segment with Morgan and Vaquer would be uploaded online with English translations.

They announced a tribute to AJ Styles next week on Raw in Atlanta.

Raw next week:

  • AJ Styles tribute
  • Elimination Chamber triple threat qualifier: Iyo Sky vs. Raquel Rodriguez vs. Kairi Sane
  • Elimination Chamber triple threat qualifier: Bronson Reed vs. Jey Uso vs. The Original El Grande Americano (Chad Gable)

Triple threat Elimination Chamber qualifying match: Gunther vs. Je’Von Evans vs. Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio

Dom repeatedly bailed to avoid Gunther as the match got started. Evans went right after Gunther and was taken down a few times until he managed to come back with a dropkick. Gunther dropped him moments later before chopping down Dom. Gunther chopped Evans out of mid-air and drove Dom repeatedly into the barricade.

Gunther was about to powerbomb Dom outside the ring, but Evans ran across the ring and flew right over the top rope with an impressive dive to wipe out Gunther. (Dom grabbed the ring bell hammer and left it on the steel steps.)

Evans shined over Dom as they returned from break, but Gunther powerbombed him on top of Dom. Evans caught Gunther in a cover after a hurricanrana, but Gunther kicked out and hit a powerbomb for two. Gunther chopped Evans in the back, but Evans avoided a powerbomb and hit a running knee strike, and Dom broke up the cover.

Gunther got his knees up on a Dom frog splash before Evans hit Gunther with a springboard clothesline. Gunther caught Evans in a sleeper, but Evans quickly used a jawbreaker to break out of it. Evans went for an OG Cutter, but Gunther caught him in a sleeper. Dom broke that up with a frog splash on Gunther’s back. Dom went for a 619, but Gunther planted him with a clothesline.

Dom grabbed the ring bell hammer as Evans put Gunther in a sleeper. Gunther hit a back suplex and booted Dom out of the ring. Gunther grabbed the hammer away from Dom, but Dragon Lee suddenly appeared and hit Gunther with the ring bell (as revenge for getting beaten up two weeks ago).

With Gunther out, Dom hit Evans with a 619, but Evans avoided a frog splash and hit an OG Cutter for the pinfall win.

Match result: Je’Von Evans defeated Dominik Mysterio and Gunther to qualify for the Men’s Elimination Chamber (14:40)

This match was ok. The crowd was quiet for most of it, but they really got into the OG Cutter (and his earlier attempts at it) and popped huge for Evans’ win. It ultimately came across like a big win for Evans in the end.

El Hijo del Vikingo proposes stipulation for upcoming AAA Rey de Reyes title match

El Hijo del Vikingo wants Dominik Mysterio to put his hair on the line during their upcoming AAA Mega Championship match.

Vikingo is scheduled to face Mysterio for the AAA Mega Championship on March 14th, 2026, at the Lucha Libre AAA’s Rey de Reyes show. However, with still weeks left before the title match, Vikingo had another proposal for Mysterio.

On the February 7th edition of AAA on Fox, fans witnessed Mysterio walk out and hype himself up in front of the crowd, before Vikingo appeared. The 28-year-old challenged Mysterio to put his hair on the line as well during his title match.

While not demanding an immediate answer, he offered Mysterio some time to think. Vikingo will now await the answer on the upcoming February 21st episode of AAA on Fox during the contract signing of their title match.

Dominik Mysterio returns on WWE Raw

Dominik Mysterio, the WWE Intercontinental Champion and AAA Mega Campeon, made his return to WWE Monday Night Raw.

Mysterio had not been seen on Raw since suffering a shoulder injury two months ago. On Monday night, he came out in street clothes with both of his championship belts, then introduced his girlfriend, Liv Morgan, the 2026 Women’s Royal Rumble winner.

Morgan then had encounters with her stablemate, Raquel Rodriguez, and Stephanie Vaquer, the WWE Women’s World Champion, but Mysterio was not involved.

Mysterio’s next scheduled match is a defense of the AAA Mega Championship against El Hijo del Vikingo at AAA Rey de Reyes at Auditorio GNP Seguros in Puebla, Mexico, on March 14.

On December 20 of last year, Mysterio and El Grande Americano (the Ludwig Kaiser version) lost to Rey Mysterio & Rey Fenix at AAA Guerra De Titanes. The younger Mysterio suffered his injury in that match. On this past week’s AAA on Fox, it was announced he’ll be on next week’s show to confront Americano.

Mega title match official for AAA Rey de Reyes

The Mega title match for Rey de Reyes is official.

During Saturday’s AAA on Fox show, Dominik Mysterio appeared via video, interrupting El Hijo del Vikingo, Omos, and Dorian Roldan in the ring. He called the new incarnation of El Ojo cowards and confirmed his title match against Vikingo would take place at Rey de Reyes. He told Vikingo that he doesn’t belong, he is the king of the luchadores, and said he would embarrass him in Puebla on March 14.

On the premiere episode of AAA on Fox, Vikingo defeated El Grande Americano to become the new number one contender for the Mega title. It was Mysterio that defeated Vikingo back at Worlds Collide on September 12 to win the title for the first time.

Saturday’s show also saw the first person qualify for the Rey de Reyes tournament finals. La Parka defeated Jack Cartwheel, Apollo Crews, and Aerostar to advance to the finals. Whoever wins the four-way match will win the tournament, wield the ceremonial sword, and earn a future Mega Heavyweight title match.

Dominik Mysterio appearance, Mixed Tag Team title match set for next AAA on Fox

Dominik Mysterio is returning to AAA next week.

It was announced during Saturday’s AAA on Fox that the Mega Champion would be appearing on next week’s show. During the announcement, Corey Graves hinted that his appearance may have something to do with El Grande Americano. The former team mates split up at Guerra de Titantes last month after they lost their match to Rey Mysterio and Rey Fenix. This would mark Mysterio’s first live appearance on television since suffering a shoulder injury that took place during that match.

A match for the AAA Mixed Tag Team titles was also announced, with Mr. Iguana and Lola Vice challenging champions Ethan Page and Chelsea Green. Vice won a match against La Hiedra on this week’s show to earn a spot in the title match, winning with a roll-up that Mr. Iguana, the special guest referee, counted.

After the match, Page and Green appeared backstage unhappy about the developments.

AAA on Fox (February 7)

Dominik Mysterio accidentally shown as AEW Champion during AAA promo

Dominik Mysterio was accidentally shown as the AEW Champion in a video that aired on Saturday.

During AAA’s premiere episode on Fox in Latin America, a video aired of Mysterio talking about his success in the promotion and cutting promos on celebrities such as Canelo Alvarez and Bad Bunny. AI-generated animation appeared in the video and at one point, one of the images briefly showed Mysterio wearing a championship belt with the AEW logo on it.

As of this writing, the promo can still be seen on social media:

Mysterio, who remains AAA Mega Champion and WWE Intercontineal Champion, suffered a shoulder injury during AAA’s Guerra de Titanes event last month. On the following Monday’s Raw, it was noted that he would be out indefinitely due to injury. However it was reported soon after that he won’t need surgery and would only be out for a few weeks.

El Hijo del Vikingo became the new number one contender for the Mega title on Saturday, defeating El Grande Americano after help from Omos.

No. 1 contender crowned for Dominik Mysterio’s AAA Mega Title

Tonight’s edition of Lucha Libre AAA’s debut on Fox in Latin America saw El Hijo Del Vikingo defeat El Grande Americano to crown himself the brand new number one contender for Dominik Mysterio’s AAA Mega championship.

In the main-event of the show, Vikingo faced off against Americano in a match that saw interference from Dorian Roldan and Omos. The final moments of the match witnessed Roldan and Omos get involved and help Vikingo seal the victory with a 450 splash.

Mysterio is the reigning AAA Mega champion and has held the title for nearly 128-days. He won the title from El Hijo del Vikingo on September 12th at the AAA x WWE Worlds Collide 2025: Las Vegas. With Mysterio now sidelined with an injury, it is currently unknown when Vikingo will challenge Mysterio for the title.

The aftermath of the match saw Omos attack Americano, before Rey Mysterio arrived with a kendo stick to make the save.

Liv Morgan gives Dominik Mysterio WWE return update

Dominik Mysterio should be back in the ring soon, according to his Judgment Day stablemate Liv Morgan.

The 28-year-old Mysterio suffered a shoulder injury at AAA Guerra de Titanes on December 20 but thankfully does not need to undergo surgery. There’s hope that he’ll only be sidelined for a few weeks and will be back in time for the Royal Rumble at the end of this month. During an in-character appearance on WWE’s Raw Recap podcast, Morgan added some optimism to that timeline by saying that Mysterio will be back shortly.

“Daddy Dom, he’s home resting. He’s recovering. We’re just playing it safe,” she responded when asked about Mysterio’s status. “He is, after all, our double champion. He is, as of right now, the crown jewel of The Judgment Day. So we protect and cater to Daddy Dom. And we’re just playing it safe with him. He’ll be back soon, but he’s doing some well deserved [rest and relaxation]. He was quite literally running Monday Night Raw for, like, the last full year. You don’t think that Daddy Dom deserves a little bit of a break, a little bit of a rest, a little bit of an off day, a little bit of a reprieve? My goodness.”

Mysterio remains the WWE Intercontinental Champion and AAA Mega Champion amid his injury.

At WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on January 24, Morgan & Roxanne Perez have a chance to bring more gold to Judgment Day when they challenge Rhea Ripley & IYO SKY for the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles. Judgment Day’s Finn Balor also has a title match coming up on Raw next Monday against World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk.

Dominik Mysterio injury update, potential timeline for return

An update is available on Dominik Mysterio.

Dominik has been out of action since suffering a shoulder injury during the main event of AAA Guerra de Titanes on December 20. His status was addressed by our own Dave Meltzer on the post-Raw edition of Wrestling Observer Radio. Meltzer stated that Dominik will not require surgery and is expected back in time for the Royal Rumble.

Meltzer said:

“Dominik Mysterio, he found out he does not need surgery. What I was told today is they are looking at three to four weeks. So, it’s not a long term thing, he should be back for the Rumble.”

“The timeline is fluid, but three to four weeks is the number that he got from the doctors I think today or yesterday.”

“He got the word no surgery, which was the relief, because if it was surgery it’d be like Seth, it’d be months and months and he’d have to vacate the titles and it’s a bad time to be injured for that long.”

“Of a bad scenario, he got the best news.”

On last night’s WWE Raw broadcast, Joe Tessitore mentioned that Dominik was out indefinitely with a shoulder injury. Liv Morgan mentioned in a backstage segment that Dominik was taking some time off.

The full episode of Wrestling Observer Radio is available now for subscribers.

WWE says Dominik Mysterio ‘out indefinitely’ with shoulder injury

Dominik Mysterio is out of action.

During Monday’s Raw, Liv Morgan mentioned in a backstage interview that Mysterio would be taking some time off. Joe Tessitore on commentary went further, saying that he would be out indefinitely due to a shoulder injury.

Mysterio’s injury took place at AAA Guerra de Titanes back on December 20. Bryan Alvarez reported at the time that Mysterio could barely use the arm at all after the match. Dave Meltzer later reported that Mysterio was hurting following the injury and would get examined that week.

“He was hurting today and he’s going to get examined. Normally, you would go to TV and get examined but there’s no TV until a week from Monday. So, I was told he’s getting examined at some point this week, probably by a doctor there, to see what’s wrong with his shoulder,” he said. “So, it’s premature to say anything as far as the severity of it but shoulder injuries are very, very common and it’s probably not a good thing. Hopefully, he doesn’t need surgery right now, that would put him out for months if he did that, but right now we don’t know. But the injury is legit.”

Mysterio currently holds both the WWE Intercontinental title and the AAA Mega Championship. At Guerra de Titantes, he and El Grande Americano lost to Rey Mysterio and Rey Fenix.

John Cena Sr. praises Gunther, Dominik Mysterio after son’s final WWE matches

John Cena Sr. has a “tremendous amount of respect” for Gunther and believes The Ring General did a great job in his son’s retirement match.

Ahead of the December 13 Saturday Night’s Main Event special, Cena Sr. made headlines by expressing that he did not want Gunther to be his son’s final opponent. He ideally would have liked to see someone like Kurt Angle, Adam Copeland, Chris Jericho, or JBL in that spot, but Cena Sr. ended up loving the match his son and Gunther had.

“That match was excellent,” the elder Cena told Undisputed. “I have a tremendous amount of respect for Gunther. He and John wrestled a great match together. They had people on the edge of their seats that entire match.”

The finish saw Cena submit while Gunther had him locked in a sleeper. With Cena flashing a smile across his face, the moment was supposed to feel like him going out peacefully as he ended his time in the ring. Cena Sr. reacted to the controversial finish and told Undisputed he would have liked to have seen a different ending. He does not necessarily think his son had to lose the match.

“I’m not one of those guys who thinks you have to go down when you go out,” Cena Sr. said. “When you look at the faces of people at the end of that match, with grown men and women in tears, I think we could have achieved the same result with a different finish.”

Before the Gunther match, Cena worked a series of bouts against Dominik Mysterio that saw them trade the Intercontinental Championship back and forth. Cena Sr. told Undisputed that he’s a big believer in Dominik’s potential.

“Dom is spectacular,” Cena Sr. said. “People like him hold a lot of promise for the future of pro wrestling.”

Cena Sr. noted that his son is a man of his word, so he knows this is truly it and Cena will never wrestle again. Cena will still remain part of WWE, though, with him signing a five-year ambassador contract with the company.
