Freddie Prinze Jr. confirms ‘creative offer’ made to Bray Wyatt

While he doesn’t have his wrestling promotion launched as of yet, actor and former WWE creative team member Freddie Prinze Jr. is still forging on and confirmed Wednesday that he has made an offer to Bray Wyatt.

Answering a question on his Wrestling with Freddie podcast, he confirmed that he put out a “creative offer” to Wyatt but it’s not looking like he will take it.

“Financially, I wouldn’t be able to compete with WWE, but I put other things in there that are more important to Bray,” Prinze Jr. said. “I don’t think I’m going to get it as the weeks go on, but we’ll see.”

Wyatt was to be the central figure that the wrestling end of things would revolve around, but Prinze said if he doesn’t get him, he will find someone else and this is just a speed bump in the road.

Released by WWE in July 2021, Wyatt is expected to return and be the reveal behind the recent White Rabbit viral campaign that has played out on WWE TV over the past few weeks — one that will likely come to fruition at Saturday’s Extreme Rules.

If that happens, it would be the second wrestler Prinze Jr. was eyeing that signed with WWE as in August, he said he had spoken to Karrion Kross and was planning on him being their first champion. Kross returned to WWE in early-August.

Prinze Jr. said he is still moving ahead with plans for his wrestling promotion, something he first revealed this past May

“I have a finished draft, a finished script. I have two producers that are both interested in wanting to partner up with me on this. I don’t have a TV deal in place but I have…very close to that,” he said, adding that he is working on filling out a roster and that he already has secured the services of a female star “that people know and love.”

He didn’t rule out working with WWE and AEW with regard to talent, acknowledging that any WWE talent would likely be in a backstage role while AEW is more freer with their contracts.

No timeline was given for when he hopes to launch, but in May, he said he wanted to launch within 18 months.

WWE hires former Marvel writer as Director of Longterm Creative

WWE has hired a Director of Longterm Creative.

Horror writer Rob Fee was chosen for the position and started with the company last month.

Fee’s Linkedin profile reads, “a horror writer for Marvel – penning comics for Spider-Man, Daredevil, and The Avengers. He was head writer on multiple Disney shows, including 100 episodes of Disney XD’s top-rated series PLAYER SELECT.”

According to a report from Fightful Select, Fee once pitched “a Fiend-related movie” to WWE. Bray Wyatt was released shortly after he did so, however, so nothing more came of the idea. Fee has reportedly been working on the production of the White Rabbit QR code messages in recent weeks as well. He is said to be a longtime follower of wrestling.

Fee also produced multiple series for Will Smith including The Fresh Prince Reunion. He also worked as a producer on The Ellen Show, MTV’s Ridiculousness, and has served as a creative consultant for Netflix.

WWE releases White Rabbit T-shirts online

On the day that many expect a big return on WWE SmackDown, the company released two different t-shirts on WWEShop.com that feature a white rabbit and a hangman game.

One is a black shirt that simply has a rabbit on it while another has the “Who killed the world? You did.” phrase with the hangman game featured in a video that launched Monday. WWE not so subtly featured a QR code on Raw in the background several times that took viewers to the video.

The video ends with 9.23 which is tonight when SmackDown will emanate from Salt Lake City, Utah.

This follows the company playing the song “White Rabbit” from Jefferson Airplane last Friday during a SmackDown commercial break and then over the weekend.

The speculation is that this is all tied into the return of Bray Wyatt who was released in July 2021. Since then, the 35-year-old has yet to appear in a wrestling ring but has been on social media from time to time.

WWE plays cryptic ‘White Rabbit’ song at SmackDown, house show

For the second night in a row, the song “White Rabbit” ominously played to a live WWE crowd.

During a commercial break on Friday’s edition of SmackDown, the Jefferson Airplane song played to the fans in the arena but was not shown on television. The house lights were shut off and red lighting lit up the stage as the song came to an end.

On Saturday night, it was played again to those in attendance at a house show in Bakersfield, California.

Some have speculated that this could be related to Karrion Kross, as he was known as The White Rabbit in Lucha Underground. Others have commented that it could be teasing Bray Wyatt returning to the company.

Grace Slick wrote “White Rabbit” in the mid-1960s. The song’s lyrics are below:

“One pill makes you larger
And one pill makes you small
And the ones that mother gives you
Don’t do anything at all
Go ask Alice
When she’s ten feet tall

And if you go chasing rabbits
And you know you’re going to fall
Tell ’em a hookah-smoking caterpillar
Has given you the call
Call Alice
When she was just small

When the men on the chessboard
Get up and tell you where to go
And you’ve just had some kind of mushroom
And your mind is moving low
Go ask Alice
I think she’ll know

When logic and proportion
Have fallen sloppy dead
And the White Knight is talking backwards
And the Red Queen’s off with her head
Remember what the dormouse said
Feed your head
Feed your head”

WWE & Bray Wyatt have talked about return, Triple H has more surprises planned

WWE and Bray Wyatt have had discussions regarding his potential return to the company.

Our own Dave Meltzer addressed recent talks that have occurred between the two sides in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

“Regarding talk of Wyatt returning, there were definitely talks in that direction. At one point the talks stalled but it was said it was not a dead issue. Talks with him outside WWE had also stalled in the past, as his asking price was well above what other companies were willing to pay. When he was last in WWE, the belief was that behind Reigns and Lesnar, that the tier of he, Orton and Rousey were the highest paid pro wrestlers in the world,” Meltzer wrote

Meltzer also wrote that Paul “Triple H” Levesque has more surprises planned as well.

“We were told that Paul Levesque has some surprises coming who are not people being talked about,” Meltzer continued.

Since Levesque took over as head of creative for WWE wrestlers such as Dakota Kai, Karrion Kross, and Braun Strowman have returned to the company after previously having been released.

Triple H comments on possible WWE returns of Bray Wyatt, Sasha Banks, Braun Strowman

Paul “Triple H” Levesque has commented on the possible WWE returns of several former members of the roster.

Levesque spoke to Ariel Helwani recently and was asked about the chances of Sasha Banks, Braun Strowman, Bray Wyatt, and the Rock returning to the company.

When asked about Banks, Levesque responded, “Time will tell. I think in a lot of ways communication breakdowns are terrible. There was a communication breakdown there, for whatever reason. Starting back up that communication is not a difficult process but it can be a process and you have to go through the process. But she’s an unbelievably talented woman who can do just about anything she wants, it just comes down to what does she want to do now.”

“She’s an unbelievable performer that I believe in with everything I have,” he continued.

Levesque was also asked about Braun Strowman.

“Braun Strowman, we’ll see,” he responded. “He’s a polarizing person a little bit sometimes in the business but for a guy his size, what he brings to the table, he’s an amazing athlete.”

“If this is what he wants to do at the highest of levels, then I would like nothing more than to give him another shot,” Levesque continued.

Levesque was also asked about Bray Wyatt returning to WWE.

“One of the most – I mean this in the best way possible – crazy, creative people I’ve ever been around. Mind just never stops thinking of creative but it’s like being in a whirlwind of stuff. So without the harness and without someone to point the tornado, it’s just all over the place. He’s a victim of his own mind and creative but I love working with him.”

Levesque also commented on The Rock. He noted that he believes Rock wants to return for a big event such as WrestleMania but it’s a matter of if doing so works with his schedule.

“I know somewhere deep inside of him there is that burning thing to go, ‘I gotta feel that one more time, gotta get in there one more time because that clock is ticking,'” Levesque said.

It’s been 11 months since Rotunda was released from his WWE contract in July 2021. He’s yet to wrestle anywhere since then.

Last month, Rotunda teased on Twitter that it’s “almost time” for his return to pro wrestling.

Rotunda and Joseann Offerman (former WWE ring announcer JoJo) announced this April that they’ve gotten engaged. The couple has two children together.

Former Bray Wyatt teases in-ring return: ‘It’s almost time’

Windham Rotunda, the former Bray Wyatt in WWE, took to social media to comment on his future.

On Twitter, Rotunda said that he is “ready now”, and that “it’s almost time”, teasing a return to in-ring action.

“Everything good that’s ever happened to me, first came a period [of] horrible suffering,” he wrote. “I never ask why, I just wait for the rough part to end. I was chosen for whatever reason. And I’ve got shit to do. It doesn’t hurt anymore, it burns. I’m ready now.”

“I’m tired of watching,” he added. “Tired of hearing irrelevant clowns speculate how I’ll be perceived. Tired of hearing about my greed, my desire questioned. Wherever and whenever I decide to return, I’ll remind everyone why they know my name. Again. And again. Believe in me. Patience. It’s almost time.”

Wyatt has not wrestled since being released from WWE on July 31 of last year. Last November, it was reported one of his first projects post-WWE was a feature film, a collaboration with Callosum Studios and its owner Jason Baker.

Bray Wyatt & JoJo Offerman get engaged

Windham Rotunda (formerly known as Bray Wyatt in WWE) and Joseann Offerman (former WWE ring announcer JoJo) are now engaged to be married.

In an Instagram post on Thursday, Offerman revealed that Rotunda proposed to her and the two are now engaged: “A million times YES! I love you Windham and I cant wait to marry you (even though it feels like we’re already married) Here’s to forever @thewindhamrotunda)

Rotunda and Offerman have two children together. Their first child, a boy named Knash Sixx Rotunda, was born in May 2019. Offerman then gave birth to a girl named Hyrie Von Rotunda in May 2020.

Rotunda also has two children from a previous marriage.

Rotunda and Offerman got together while both were with WWE. Rotunda was released by WWE last July and has yet to wrestle anywhere else since.

In August of last year, it was confirmed that Offerman is no longer under contract with WWE. PWInsider wrote that she had departed the company six to eight months prior to that. Offerman hadn’t appeared on WWE television since announcing her first pregnancy in 2019.

Randy Orton: WWE NXT wrestlers aren’t being taught to protect their opponents

Randy Orton was a guest on Thursday’s Pat McAfee Show and talked about difficulties working with wrestlers from NXT, his program with Bray Wyatt, and Edge’s return.

Orton noted that Edge’s return has been refreshing for him because many of today’s performers are not as focused on protecting their opponent.

“There’s an art to what we do and a lot of guys have lost that art,” Orton said.

“When Vince (McMahon) was on, he talked about your number one priority, above all, being protecting your opponent. That’s not taught, necessarily, in NXT. I know that because I’ve been in the ring with guys that came from NXT and they don’t what the f**k they’re doing. It’s unfortunate, but that is just how things are changing.”

He then spoke about how working with Edge allows him to tell a story in the ring.

“I can trust this guy. I can give this guy my body in this ring and tell this story and I don’t have to, in the back of my head, worry about him only being concerned with looking cool in that ring and hitting the f**k out of me and taking my head off.”

“[Edge] made me realize that I can go 45 minutes with a guy that knows what the f**k he’s doing,” Orton continued. “Where are these other guys that know what f**k they’re doing?”

Orton then spoke about his program with Bray Wyatt, which he referred to as “a little odd.”

“There was some issues where he was unable to do a lot of stuff in the ring for awhile so that got weird, but Bray Wyatt’s a hell of a f**king talent.”

He then spoke about enjoying his time working with Riddle.

“For the last year, I’ve been out there with him. He’s only been wrestling for six years, but he just gets it. He knows how to sell and he captivates those people. He captivates me,” Orton continued.

Bray Wyatt announced for WrestleCon 2022 in Dallas

The first talent announcement has been made for WrestleCon 2022, and it is the former Bray Wyatt.

Windham Rotunda, known as Bray Wyatt and The Fiend in WWE, has been announced for the WrestleMania week 2022 WrestleCon in Dallas, Texas.

WrestleCon 2022 will be held at the Fairmont Dallas hotel from March 30 to April 5, 2022. Ticket information will be made available here soon, while hotel reservations at a discounted rate are available here now.

Rotunda’s WWE non-compete clause expired on October 30 after he was released by WWE on July 31. His final match with the company came at WrestleMania 37 in April, where he lost to Randy Orton.

While AEW president Tony Khan has said that he would like to talk to Rotunda at the right time, Rotunda’s first post-WWE project is a feature film. The movie is a Callosum Studios production and expected to be a horror film.

Bray Wyatt’s first post-WWE project a feature film

The former Bray Wyatt is working on a feature film with Callosum Studios, according to a report.

Windham Rotunda’s first post-WWE project was announced in an exclusive report by Metro.co.UK. Callosum’s owner and special makeup effects artist Jason Baker says that he and Rotunda are collaborating on a movie.

“It’s a feature film and it’s something really new and different. I’d say probably the best way to describe it is Ichi the Killer meets Xanadu,” Baker said.

Baker posted a photo on a Warner Bros. studio lot with Rotunda late last month, and says that the film project sprung out of some Hollywood meetings. Fightful Select was first to report on those meetings.

“We had some meetings out there and things happened and things got moving forward, and now we’re going and shooting this feature film with him and the end of the month,” Baker said. “He’s a phenomenal collaborator, he’s become a really good friend, and we’re actually.. We’re starting a film at the end of the month.”

Baker is the artist who created Rotunda’s Firefly Fun House puppets, but says not to expect any of that in the new film.

“We’re not using any of that… We’re going in a completely different direction, a whole new thing,” he said. “It should be fun. Hopefully fans of horror and fans of Windham like it.”

Baker also states that filming for the movie begins shortly. “Two weeks to go, we’re filming in Tennessee,” he said.

Rotunda’s WWE non-compete clause expired on October 30 after he was released by WWE on July 31.

AEW’s Tony Khan interested in talking to Bray Wyatt

AEW president and CEO Tony Khan is interested in talking to the former Bray Wyatt (Windham Rotunda) at the right time and place.

During an appearance on WFAN’s Moose & Maggie earlier this week, Khan said he hasn’t talked to Rotunda about signing with AEW. The New York Post followed up on that in an interview with Khan, asking him if that’s a conversation he’d like to have when the timing is right for everyone.

“Yeah. I really like Windham (Rotunda). I know him a little bit and I really enjoy him,” Khan said. “The last time I saw him was at Chris Jericho’s birthday party and that was a long time ago. I like him as a person very much and he’s a really talented person. At the right time and place, sure I’d be interested to talk to him. I’m interested to talk to him in general because he’s a great person.”

Rotunda was released by WWE on July 31. His final match for WWE was at WrestleMania 37 this April, where he lost to Randy Orton.

Tony Khan says he hasn’t talked to Bray Wyatt about signing with AEW

During an appearance on WFAN’s Moose & Maggie today, Tony Khan was asked if the former Bray Wyatt will be the next major addition to the AEW roster.

“He’s a great wrestler, and I got to be honest, we haven’t really talked at all,” Khan said. “I’ve known him in personal life and I’ve gotten to spend a little bit of time with him. But as far as that, we haven’t talked. I saw lots of rumors, but that’s not something anybody’s really talked about. But I think, you know, you never know.”

Wyatt (real name Windham Rotunda) was released by WWE on July 31. He was told that budget cuts were the reason for his release.

Wyatt’s final match for WWE was at WrestleMania 37 this April, where Randy Orton defeated The Fiend.

Wyatt made his in-ring debut in 2009 as part of WWE developmental. He was a two-time Universal Champion and a one-time WWE Champion during his WWE career, along with holding the Raw and SmackDown Tag Team titles one time each.
