For the first time ever, a WWE tag team will be part of Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport.
Announced by Barnett on Tuesday, former two-time WWE World Tag Team Champions The War Raiders (Erik & Ivar) will both compete on this Saturday’s Bloodsport XIV, set for 1 PM Eastern on Triller+ from Rutherford, New Jersey, during WWE SummerSlam weekend.
Neither man has competed in the unique format before. Opponents were not named for either man.
The two haven’t wrestled since the July 7th episode of WWE Main Event and have competed just three times since June 1st.
The Bloodsport shows have seen an increased WWE presence in the last year with Natalya, Pete Dunne and Charlie Dempsey already representing on this show before Tuesday’s announcement.

WWE wrestler Pete Dunne and free agent Jonathan Gresham are set to meet one-on-one this weekend.
Game Changer Wrestling has confirmed that Dunne vs. Gresham will take place at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XIV in New Jersey this Saturday. The show is being held at the Williams Center in Rutherford and will air live on TrillerTV+.
“Two of Pro Wrestling’s most dangerous grapplers are set to clash at Josh Barnett’s: Bloodsport XIV,” he wrote. “Refined in skills and holds but possessing the blunt viciousness needed when skill is not enough. These two are set to tear down the house and one another.”
Dunne — who will be wrestling his first match since May — has a 1-0 Bloodsport record with a victory over Timothy Thatcher from earlier this year.
Gresham is looking for his first Bloodsport win, holding an 0-2 record at the moment with losses to Zack Sabre Jr. and Masashi Takeda.
In addition to Dunne, WWE wrestlers Natalya and Charlie Dempsey will be competing at this Bloodsport indie event. Natalya vs. TNA’s Masha Slamovich is booked for the show. An opponent for Dempsey has not been announced yet.
Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XIV (Saturday, August 2) —
The lineup for Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XIV from GCW continues to fill up with three new additions announced Thursday including one from WWE and another from WWE NXT.
Revealed by Barnett himself, Pete Dunne of New Catch Republic will make his return as will Charlie Dempsey who is making his fifth appearance in the unique format.
Dunne’s lone Bloodsport appearance was this past April in a win over Timothy Thatcher. He and Tyler Bate have been relegated to WWE Main Event duty as of late and has wrestled just three times overall since that Bloodsport debut. His last bout came in May.
Dempsey is 3-1 in Bloodsport, debuting in April 2024 with a win over Matt Makowski. After a July 2024 loss to Royce Isaacs, he rebounded with back-to-back wins over Tracy Williams (November 2024) and Shinya Aoki (April 2025).
Indie wrestler and GCW regular Slade was also announced for the card. He hasn’t competed in the format since March 2022 when he lost to Alex Coughlin.
The show will air live on Triller+.

Wrestlers who get harassed the most in social media
I was used to being on top all the time. I was used to, you know, being quote unquote, like the face of the company. But at NXT there’s incredible women everywhere you look, right. So it’s a little bit harder to stand out. But the one thing that I always go back on is, I just want to be the best wrestler in the ring. No matter what, I want to have the best match on the show, and I always go back to that, and it’s never failed me.
When I 1st got into wrestling in 2016, I didn’t know much… my Husband @MontezFordWWE is literally a wrestling historian so I asked him who should I watch and study? 1st person he said was Jazz! I still remember the night we sat and watched hours of matches he pulled up as he went on for hours and hours about you, your skill, grit, impact, etc. and I fell in love with the b*tch clamp and the high leg drop (which I tried and yeah, no it hurts lol) Thank you for paving the way! Dream match!
Michael Hayes remembered his Fabulous Freebirds partner Terry Gordy on the 24th anniversary of his death: “It’s hard to believe it’s been 24 years since Terry passed away! Think about you and miss you every day. Thank you Bam!!”
I’m very saddened to hear of the passing of Eddie ‘Kung Fu’ Hamill. As good as a Pro I ever saw Wrestle and a lovely man who always treated me as an equal when I was a teenage Wrestler when many older fellas wouldn’t give me the time of day. My deepest condolences to Eddie’s family.

NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne will appear on TNA Impact this Thursday for a segment where she’ll address her winner-take-all match against Masha Slamovich ahead of Slammiversary. The PPV is being held in Long Island, New York this Sunday (July 20).
A tweet posted by Silva this week has led to speculation that he’s teasing an AJ Styles appearance for Slammiversary. In the tweet, Silva used the word “phenomenal” and capitalized it: “We’re moving the stage back to accommodate more fans. This event will be TNA’s greatest achievement and trust me it’s going to be PHENOMENAL. #Slammiversary #TNA @ThisIsTNA”
While speaking with Going Ringside, Victoria Crawford (the former Alicia Fox) gave an update on her status with TNA: “So, it’s official, I’m with TNA. It was kind of half official [when she was interviewed on Going Ringside before], but it’s official, official. I’m a Knockout.”
Janai Kai vs. Jordan Blade has been announced for Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XIV in Rutherford, New Jersey on August 2.
Excalibur (45), Bobby Lashley (49), “Speedball” Mike Bailey (35), and QT Marshall (40) are all celebrating birthdays today.
Former Ring of Honor World Champion Jonathan Gresham and AEW/ROH wrestler Nick Comoroto were part of the new additions to the next Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport event.
The 14th edition is set for Saturday, August 2nd in Rutherford, New Jersey, at the Williams Center as part of GCW Summersmash weekend — the same weekend WWE SummerSlam is taking place. The event will stream live on Triller+.
It will be the debut for the 34-year-old Comoroto who recently returned from a lengthy injury absence. He made a brief appearance in a May squash match loss to The Opps and hasn’t been in AEW or ROH since. According to Cagematch records, he competed on the indies five times in May but didn’t wrestle in June.
Gresham will be making his third Bloodsport appearance and is in search of his first win after losses to Masashi Tanaka and Zack Sabre Jr.
Also added to the show were regulars Matt Mako (the former Matt Makowski) and Simon Gotch.
Previously announced talent includes TNA Knockouts Champion Masha Slamovich, Janai Kai and Dominic Garrini.
History of Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport
The former UFC heavyweight champion took over on the homage to the classic Jean Claude Van Damme film in April 2019 after the first was named for Matt Riddle.
The unique format where matches can only end via knockout or submission on a ring mat with no ropes has featured an influx of talent from across the wrestling world.
Past competitors include Barnett, Natalya, Jon Moxley, Shayna Baszler, Josh Alexander, Eddie Kingston, Charlie Dempsey, Masha Slamovich, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, and more.
The 14th edition of Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport from GCW now has a location and date attached.
Announced Wednesday on social media by Barnett himself, the next show will be held on Saturday, August 2nd at the Williams Center in Rutherford, New Jersey, as part of GCW Summersmash weekend — the same weekend WWE SummerSlam is taking place.
The event will stream live on Triller+.
As of now, Barnett will host three Bloodsports in 2025. The first was held as part of the GCW Collective during WrestleMania 41 weekend in the Las Vegas area with this New Jersey show as the second. The third will be held in September as the format debuts in London, England.
Last year, there were four-such events with one taking place in Tokyo, Japan, for the first time. It was the most per year since 2021’s four.
No names were announced as of now, but could include multiple WWE and WWE NXT talents as it has in recent times — most notably with Natalya debuting in April. Other organizations like AEW and TNA have been represented as well.

Wrestling at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XIII was an important experience for Natalya as she looks to create more opportunities for herself.
Speaking on the Toronto Sun’s No Holds Barred podcast, Natalya said she can’t remember the last time she had as much fun as Bloodsport. The WWE star defeated Miyu Yamashita at the WrestleMania week show in Las Vegas, with this being Natalya’s Bloodsport debut and first-ever match for Game Changer Wrestling.
“That was one of the most fun times of my entire career. I said that to TJ [Tyson Kidd] when Bloodsport was done. I was like, ‘I can’t even remember the last time that I had that much fun.’ Like, I had so much fun,” Natalya said. “And this isn’t taking away anything from WrestleMania. Because, of course, I love WrestleMania. I have a world record for being in eleven WrestleMania matches. And being in WWE for, you know, this was my 18th WrestleMania that I attended. So I love WrestleMania, but Bloodsport — it was just something so different for me. It was a chance for me to create something completely from me. It was all just completely my vision of what I wanted to do.”
Billed as “Nattie Neidhart,” we saw a new MMA-inspired presentation for Natalya at Bloodsport. She said the presentation was all her vision, including having students who train with her at the Dungeon accompany her to the ring.
Natalya signed a new multi-year WWE contract in 2024. She told No Holds Barred that she’s grateful for the beautiful life she has because of WWE, but she isn’t content with just taking a paycheck. Natalya still feels pain-free at 42 years old and is hungry to show what she can do. Bloodsport was important to Natalya because it allowed her to do that.
“I just loved every second of it, and I felt like it was a side that was like I had to show everyone what I can do. Because I’m so hungry, I just love what I do so much, but I’m also not comfortable just taking a paycheck in WWE and being like, ‘Well, I’m here.’ I know there’s something to being patient, but I’m also to the point in my career where I’m like — I just need more, I want more, and I’m creating more opportunities,” she said. “I’m not waiting for them to happen, I’m creating them. And that’s why [Bloodsport] was so important to me. So that was like really the highlight of my week.”
Natalya chose Yamashita to be her Bloodsport opponent, and she’s hoping to see Yamashita signed by WWE.
“I hand-picked Miyu, because word on the street is that Miyu is the most dangerous unsigned woman wrestler in Japan,” Natalya said. “And we think about these greats like Asuka, and IYO [SKY], and Kairi [Sane], and Giulia. There’s so many incredible women that are now signed. WWE has scooped them up. Well, she is to me the very best that isn’t in WWE. The goal for me is to see Miyu get to WWE because she is that good.”
It won’t be long before Natalya has her next non-WWE match. WWE has allowed her to wrestle at the NWA Crockett Cup on May 17. At Bloodsport, there was an angle where Natalya got into a brawl with NWA Women’s World Champion Kenzie Paige.
The namesake of Bloodsport finally has his opponent set for next week’s event from Las Vegas, Nevada.
Announced on Wednesday, Josh Barnett will take on NJPW Strong Openweight Champion Gabe Kidd in what is expected to be the headliner of the 13th edition of the event.
Barnett is riding into the show on a five-fight win streak under Bloodsport rules, last defeating Tom Pestock (the former Baron Corbin) at January’s The People vs. GCW. For Kidd, it will be his Bloodsport debut and first time competing against Barnett.
Barnett posted on X, “A relationship that spans years. One that saw a master impart his knowledge to a young and hungry wolf. A pup now grown into a ravenous, mad dog. Will the teacher have to put a bullet into this rabid predator or will the student bite that hand that feeds completely off?”
This year’s show will feature even more WWE and NXT talent including the debuting Natalya and the returning Shayna Baszler among others.
Here’s the final card for next Thursday from The Palms in Las Vegas, Nevada:
Shayna Baszler is returning to Bloodsport for a match during WrestleMania 41 week in Las Vegas.
Game Changer Wrestling and Josh Barnett revealed today that Baszler will be in action against Stardom wrestler Konami at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XIII on April 17. After Konami called Baszler a dream opponent, Baszler cut a promo promising that Bloodsport will be a nightmare for her.
.@k_o_n_a_m_i_ said that her "Dream Match" is to face Shayna Baszler – dreams can come true although @QoSBaszler sees it a little differently…
KONAMI vs "The Queen of Spades" Shayna Baszler at Josh Barnett's: Bloodsport XIII
“Konami, you and I both come from the MMA world. In fact, we both trained with Megumi Fujii, arguably the greatest female fighter of all time,” Baszler said. “The difference between you and I is, although Bloodsport is in your DNA, I was born from Bloodsport. You said in a recent interview that I was a dream match of yours. The reality is: this match will be a nightmare.”
Baszler was the first-ever WWE talent booked for a Bloodsport show in 2024, and WWE wrestlers have continued to compete at the Bloodsport events that have taken place since. Baszler has a 2-0 record in Bloodsport with victories over Masha Slamovich and Miyu Yamashita. In WWE, Baszler is on the Raw roster and was featured on this week’s episode of WWE Speed.
Konami is making her Bloodsport debut against Baszler. The show is being held at the Pearl Concert Theater at the Palms Casino Resort in Vegas. It will stream live on TrillerTV+ with a start time of 11 p.m. Eastern/8 p.m. Pacific.
There have been eight matches announced for the card so far:
Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XIII (Thursday, April 17) —
Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Jonathan Gresham
Karrion Kross vs. JR Kratos
Shayna Baszler vs. Konami
Natalya vs. Miyu Yamashita
Pete Dunne vs. Timothy Thatcher
Leyla Hirsch vs. Jordan Blade
Charlie Dempsey vs. Shinya Aoki
Karmen Petrovic vs. Maika
A matchup between Tavion Heights and Royce Isaacs has also been set up but not officially announced yet.
An NXT vs. Stardom matchup is the newest addition to the card for Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XIII.
NXT’s Karmen Petrovic will face off against Stardom wrestler Maika at the April 17 Bloodsport event in Las Vegas. Presented by Josh Barnett and Game Changer Wrestling, the show is happening on the Thursday of WrestleMania week. It will air live on TrillerTV+.
Coming off a victory over Sumie Sakai last November, this will be Petrovic’s second time competing at Bloodsport. Maika is making her Bloodsport debut.
Petrovic joined the WWE Performance Center in 2022 and has a background in karate. Maika made her pro wrestling debut in 2019 and is a multi-time champion for Stardom.
Barnett hyped the match by questioning whether Petrovic’s karate style or Maika’s judo skills will prevail:
Karate vs Judo!
Karmen had an electric debut at Bloodsport XII in Jersey City with her lightning like kick KO.
Maika is looking to use her Judo skills to hit her opponents with the earth, and take their arm home as a souvenir.
In addition to Petrovic wrestling at Bloodsport, WWE wrestlers Natalya, Pete Dunne, Karrion Kross, and Charlie Dempsey will be competing. There have been four matches confirmed so far. The show has a start time of 11 p.m. Eastern/8 p.m. Pacific.
Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XIII (Thursday, April 17) —
Pete Dunne has his opponent for WrestleMania weekend.
Josh Barnett announced on Friday that Dunne will face Timothy Thatcher at Bloodspot XIII, which will take place on April 17 in Las Vegas.
“Two men that haven’t faced each other one-on-one since 2016, yet seem destined to meet each in perpetual combat. Both adherents of the old ways of Pro Wrestling – Catch-as-Catch-can. Who will take the limb the first and catch hold of victory? Pete Dunne takes on Timothy Thatcher and Josh Barnett’s: Bloodsport XIII,” Barnett wrote on social media.

Both adherents of the old ways of Pro Wrestling – Catch-as-Catch-can. Who will take the limb the first and catch hold of victory?
Dunne has been seen lately on Raw as a singles wrestler, most recently losing a three-way to Ludwig Kaiser and Penta. He also made an appearance at OTT Homecoming earlier this month, where he defeated Sammy D.
Timothy Thatcher meanwhile is currently serving as a trainer for WWE ID talent. He made an in-ring return on the most recent edition of WWE Evolve, losing to Sean Legacy.
A few hours later, Barnett announced that former AEW star Leyla Hirsch will take on Jordan Blade.
Making her return since Bloodsport 3, Leyla Hirsch will have a newcomer awaiting her in the ring, and with their BJJ background, this grappler wants to play spoiler by choking Hirsch OUT.
The first match is official for Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XIII to take place on WrestleMania week, and it features a WWE talent.
WWE wrestler Natalya, advertised as Nattie Neidhart for the Bloodsport card, will take on Japanese star Miyu Yamashita at the event set for Thursday, April 17 in Las Vegas.
Barnett promised the first match announcement for the event on Wednesday, with a series of social media posts from Neidhart and Barnett used to confirm the Neidhart vs. Yamashita matchup.
Yamashita is a Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling regular who has held that promotion’s Princess of Princess Championship on four occasions, and twice held their Princess Tag Team titles.
Neidhart is one of several WWE wrestlers advertised for the Barnett and GCW co-promoted Bloodsport XIII event. NXT’s Charlie Dempsey and Karmen Petrovic have both previously taken part in Bloodsport events and will also return for the April 17 show. Main roster talent Karrion Kross and Pete Dunne will also take part in the event.
Bloodsport XIII will stream as a Triller TV pay-per-view on Thursday, April 17 at 11 p.m. Eastern time.
A wrestler who recently departed AEW is the latest addition to the Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XIII lineup.
Leyla Hirsch will be competing at GCW’s Bloodsport event in Las Vegas on Thursday, April 17, though no opponent for her has been announced yet. The show is taking place from the Pearl Concert Theater at the Palms Casino Resort and will stream live on TrillerTV+,
“Returning to Josh Barnett’s: Bloodsport is a cold blooded killer,” Josh Barnett tweeted while hyping Hirsch’s addition to the Bloodsport card. “A machine without empathy that legitimately thrills in the destruction of her opponents.”
The 28-year-old Hirsch departed AEW when her contract expired at the end of February. Her last match for the promotion took place at ROH Final Battle in December 2024.
This will be Hirsch’s first time wrestling at Bloodsport since 2020, when she lost to Lindsay Snow.
No matches have been announced for Bloodsport XIII yet, but Zack Sabre Jr., WWE star Natalya, Miyu Yamashita, Maika, Jonathan Gresham, Tom Lawlor, and Timothy Thatcher are among the talent that will be competing at the MMA-inspired pro wrestling show.
President-elect Donald Trump issued a statement last night officially announcing that he will nominate Linda McMahon to his cabinet as secretary of the Department of Education.
Glenn Jacobs (Kane) congratulated Linda on her nomination: “Congrats to @Linda_McMahon, our new Secretary of Education! Honored to call you a friend and can’t wait to see all you accomplish with @realDonaldTrump over the next four years.”
The Washington Post published a story about Linda once incorrectly claiming to have a degree in education on a questionnaire for the Connecticut Board of Education.
The first-ever “WWE ID Showcase match” will take place at WWN Battle for the Belts in Clearwater, Florida on Sunday, December 15. It will feature two WWE ID prospects facing each other, with WWE saying that more information will be revealed soon.
One of the main lessons that I’ve learned is that you never know what tomorrow is going to bring with WWE. You always have to be ready to adjust at the drop of a hat. There have been times where we have known what’s going to happen at a Monday Night Raw for weeks and we work towards that, and then we get into the building, and then all of a sudden, we’re doing the exact opposite. And it’s your ability to adjust and roll with the punches that pulls you up. Nothing ever goes as planned.
So all that to say, you know, once Odyssey was out of the mix, we just had to figure out a way to pivot and keep the story going and keep on moving forward, because, as they say, the show must go on. And you figure out the best ways to adjust.
Vulture published Becky Lynch’s full quote from when she addressed her WWE future at Vulture Festival this past weekend:
If you think the way I’m gonna go out after the career I’ve had is with Dominik Mysterio slamming a door in my face – that’s probably not gonna happen.
But when will [I] come back? I don’t know, I don’t know, I’ve really been enjoying myself and working on some projects that I’m very excited about, whenever I get to share them with you, I think they’re pretty awesome. I think you’re gonna think they’re pretty awesome.
Likely furthering the angle for her imminent return, Toni Storm announced to SB Nation that she is “retired” from pro wrestling and will never be heard from again. Storm apologized for being “such a failure,” saying that AEW will be fine without her: “AEW is just fine without me. Everything is going well for AEW. They don’t need Toni Storm.”
Storm was asked if there’s anything she would change about her career: “When I met Mariah May. I’d been on the top of the world for many, many years. I delivered. Then Mariah came onto the scene and everything went tits up.”
We have a young roster of hungry talented wrestlers who do whatever they can to get better. A lot of them are so, so good. A lot of it is a learning process. I did the same thing, I asked veterans to watch my match and it helped me. Now I’m in a position to do this, and I can help our young roster, I want to do it.
Lots of time I’ll give advice or watch them do what they do, I’m learning as well.
NJPW star Shingo Takagi will be in action on ROH TV this Thursday night in a match against Ariya Daivari. Among the other matches set for the episode is an ROH TV title bout with Brian Cage defending against AR Fox. Plus, ROH Women’s World Champion Athena faces Leila Grey in a Proving Ground match.
Masha Slamovich told The Takedown that she wants to face Meiko Satomura before Satomura retires from the ring next April: “I want Meiko Satomura sometime in 2025. Somehow, some way, the gods have to make it happen.”
Calvin Tankman vs. Lou Nixon is the latest addition to the card for Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XII in Jersey City, New Jersey this Sunday.
At Eric Bischoff’s MLW One-Shot event, Brock Anderson & CW Anderson will face Matthew Justice and a mystery partner in a Roulette tag match – where a roulette wheel will be spun to determine the stipulation. The show is taking place in Queens, New York on Thursday, December 5.
Mascara Dorada has been announced for MLW Kings of Colosseum in North Richland Hills, Texas on Saturday, January 11.
Another NXT wrestler has been announced for Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XII.
No Quarter Catch Crew’s Myles Borne vs. Royce Isaacs is now shceduled for the show, which takes place on Sunday, November 24 and will air live on Triller TV.
Josh Barnett announced the news on Tuesday, writing:
“It should be of no surprise that another member of the No Quarter Catch Crew would find their way to Bloodsport. Perhaps driven by a sense of revenge… Revenge may be on the mind of Borne but only thing on Royce Isaacs’ mind is to show this newcomer what no quater truly means. Myles Borne takes on Royce Isaacs at Josh Barnett’s: Bloodsport XII.”
