Two new matches added to Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XIV

With the show fast approaching, the lineup for Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XIV continues to take shape.

Two new matches have been added to Saturday’s card with AEW/ROH wrestler Nick Comoroto making his Bloodsport debut against Simon Gotch.

The other is Timothy Thatcher taking on Slade. It will be Thatcher’s tenth match in the format (3-5-1) while it’s Slade’s second (0-1).

The show, taking place in New Jersey during SummerSlam weekend, will air live via TrillerTV+ with a start time of 1 p.m. Eastern.

Comoroto returned to the ring on AEW Dynamite this April after spending almost nine months out of action following hip surgery. Since then, he’s regularly competed on the indies. Nicknamed “Freak Beast,” he got his start in wrestling at the Monster Factory training school and was signed to WWE from 2019-2020, training at the Performance Center and competing at NXT house shows.

Gotch has a 2-5 record in the seven Bloodsport matches he’s participated in. He was formerly one half of The Vaudevillains in WWE.

Here is the updated Bloodsport lineup:

Charlie Dempsey’s Bloodsport XIV opponent revealed

WWE NXT’s Charlie Dempsey will look for his third straight Bloodsport win this Saturday as he takes on Dominic Garrini.

Dempsey will step into the Bloodsport ring for the fifth time overall, sporting a 3-1 record. His only loss was to Royce Isaacs in July 2024 while he sports wins over Matt Makowski, Tracy Williams, and Shinya Aoki.

Conversely, Garrini is undefeated in Bloodsport at 3-0. A competitor at the very first show when it was named for Matt Riddle, Garrini has victories over KTB, Phil Baroni, and Violence is Forever partner Kevin Ku. Saturday marks his first Bloodsport action since last November.

Pete Dunne match added to Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XIV

WWE wrestler Pete Dunne and free agent Jonathan Gresham are set to meet one-on-one this weekend.

Game Changer Wrestling has confirmed that Dunne vs. Gresham will take place at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XIV in New Jersey this Saturday. The show is being held at the Williams Center in Rutherford and will air live on TrillerTV+.

Josh Barnett hyped the Dunne vs. Gresham matchup as featuring two of the best grapplers in wrestling.

“Two of Pro Wrestling’s most dangerous grapplers are set to clash at Josh Barnett’s: Bloodsport XIV,” he wrote. “Refined in skills and holds but possessing the blunt viciousness needed when skill is not enough. These two are set to tear down the house and one another.”

Dunne — who will be wrestling his first match since May — has a 1-0 Bloodsport record with a victory over Timothy Thatcher from earlier this year.

Gresham is looking for his first Bloodsport win, holding an 0-2 record at the moment with losses to Zack Sabre Jr. and Masashi Takeda.

In addition to Dunne, WWE wrestlers Natalya and Charlie Dempsey will be competing at this Bloodsport indie event. Natalya vs. TNA’s Masha Slamovich is booked for the show. An opponent for Dempsey has not been announced yet.

Natalya to face Masha Slamovich at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XIV

Natalya is returning to Bloodsport.

Josh Barnett made a match between Natalya and Masha Slamovich official for Bloodsport XIV on August 2 in East Rutherford, New Jersey after the two spent most of Monday trading words on social media.Β

β€œIf you both are so willing to fight then I’ve got the perfect place for it. Let’s see who gets first blood Aug 2nd,” he wrote.

After Natalya made a post reflecting on WWE’s Evolution pay-per-view, Slamovich asked Natalya if she was grateful for the women out there waiting to beat her. The two continued to exchange words until Barnett made the match official.

Slamovich is not only the JCW World Champion, but also currently holds the TNA Knockouts title. She is set to defend it at Sunday’s TNA Slammiversary event against NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne in a match where both titles are on the line.

The bout is the first to be announced for Bloodsport XIV. Talent scheduled to appear include Jonathan Gresham, Nick Comoroto, Simon Gotch, Matt Mako, Dominic Garrini, and Janai Kai. It will stream live on Triller.
