Tag Team title match official for AEW Full Gear

FTR will have their shot to become three-time AEW World Tag Team Champions at next month’s Full Gear as they will take on reigning champions Brodido.

Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler cashed their ticket during Wednesday’s Fright Night edition of Dynamite, defeating the Young Bucks, JetSpeed and Jurassic Express in a four-way title eliminator.

The end came when Luchasaurus took the Bucks to the floor and hit a moonsault to take out Matt Jackson, followed by Bailey hitting his own. Knight hit a UFO splash back in the middle but bounced up into a Shatter Machine by Harwood and Wheeler to give them the win.

FTR is looking for their first reign since the summer of 2023 while Brodido will be gunning for their sixth defense since winning the belts at August’s Forbidden Door in a four-way that included FTR.

The two teams did battle straight up in the finals of an eliminator tournament leading into Forbidden Door that ended in a 30-minute draw.

AEW World Tag Team title match set for AEW Fyter Fest

A three-way match for the AEW World Tag Team titles has been added to next week’s Fyter Fest edition of AEW Dynamite.

The Young Bucks will defend the titles against Powerhouse Hobbs & Ricky Starks and Swerve Strickland & Keith Lee in what is being billed as a Triple or Nothing match. Along with the title match, Claudio Castagnoli will face Jake Hager in a singles match following their respective team’s battle at Blood & Guts last week.

On tonight’s show, Castagnoli and Hager confronted one another backstage. Hager brought up that he was a former world champion, something that Castagnoli never did. Castagnoli mentioned that he defeated Zack Sabre Jr. at Forbidden Door, then won the Blood & Guts match for his team. He promised that he would make it 3-0 at Fyter Fest.

Meanwhile, Swerve & Strickland were confronted by Starks & Hobbs, with Starks saying he was tired of having to deal with the two. The Young Bucks then came out and mentioned that both teams failed to win the titles at Double or Nothing, while the Young Bucks were able to beat Jurassic Express for the titles. The three way tag was then made for next week.

The current lineup for next week’s Fyter Fest in Savannah, Georgia:

  • AEW World Tag Team titles: The Young Bucks vs. Ricky Starks & Powerhouse Hobbs vs. Swerve Strickland & Keith Lee
  • Claudio Castagnoli vs. Jake Hager

The Young Bucks win AEW World Tag Team titles on Dynamite

The Young Bucks won the AEW World Tag Team titles on tonight’s episode of Dynamite.

Matt & Nick Jackson defeated Luchasaurus and Jungle Boy to win the titles in the main event of tonight’s Road Rager event. The finish had Luchasaurus being thrown off the ladder through a large amount of tables set up on the outside of the ring. That allowed both Bucks to hit Jungle Boy with the BTE killer, then climb up the ladder to take the titles, winning them for a second time.

After the match, Christian Cage came to the ring to check on Luchasaurus outside of the ring, then went inside of the ring to check on Jungle Boy. Cage then turned on Jungle Boy, laying him out with the kill switch, grabbed chairs under the ring, then struck Jungle Boy with a conchairto. Relatives of Jungle Boy at ringside were shown as Cage posed to end the show.

The ladder match had been set up on last week’s Dynamite. It was originally set to be a three-way title match with The Hardys also involved. However, they were taken out of the match after Jeff Hardy was indefinitely suspended by AEW on Tuesday after being arrested for a DUI.

AEW World Tag Team title match announced for Dynamite

An AEW World Tag Team title match has been announced for next week’s Dynamite.

Jurassic Express will defend the titles against reDRagon. Additionally, a trios match pitting the Jericho Appreciation Society (Chris Jericho, Jake Hager, and Daniel Garcia) against Eddie Kingston, Santana, and Ortiz has also been announced for next week’s show, which will take place at the UNO Lakefront Arena in New Orleans, Louisiana.

After retaining the titles against The Young Bucks and reDRagon at Revolution back in March, reDRagon have continued to feud with the team, at one point stealing their titles. On tonight’s show, Jungle Boy said they were going to be the ones to challenge reDRagon for next week.

Kingston, Santana, and Ortiz returned to Dynamite last week, attacking the Jericho Appreciation Society after they jumped the trio last month. Despite this, JAS were able to stand tall. On this week’s show, Kingston, Santana, and Ortiz retaliated by attacking the JAS backstage. They brawled outside the arena, with Jake Hager rescuing the rest of the group by helping them escape in a getaway car.

Current Dynamite lineup:

  • Jurassic Express vs. reDRagon for the AEW World Tag Team titles
  • Eddie Kingston, Santana, and Ortiz vs. Jericho Appreciation Society

reDRagon advance to AEW Revolution Tag Team title match

reDRagon has secured a spot in the three-way AEW World Tag Team title match set for AEW Revolution.

Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly won tonight’s battle royal that put them in the Tag Team title match set for AEW Revolution on March 6 in Orlando, Florida. The finish of the battle royal had Matt Jackson eliminating Trent Beretta. While Matt’s back was turned O’Reilly, who was recovering on the ground, sprang up and eliminated Matt.

After the match, reDRagon and the Young Bucks argued about the finish. They were interrupted by Hangman Page, who went after reDRagon after they attacked him the previous week.

The third team for the Revolution Tag Team title match will be determined next week on Dynamite, where a casino battle royal will take place.

The current card for AEW Revolution is as follows:

  • Hangman Page vs. Adam Cole for the AEW World Championship
  • Britt Baker vs. Thunder Rosa for the AEW Women’s World Championship
  • CM Punk vs. MJF in a dog collar match
  • Jurassic Express vs. reDRagon vs. a third team to be determined next week for the AEW World Tag Team titles

Three-way AEW World Tag Team title match announced for Revolution

Two battle royals will determine the two teams that will face Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus at AEW Revolution on March 6.

On tonight’s Dynamite, it was announced that two battle royals will take place over the next two weeks on Dynamite. The first, A standard tag team battle royal, will be held on next week’s Dynamite. A second match, a Casino Tag Royale, will be held the following Wednesday. The two teams that win those matches will advance to a three-way match at Revolution.

Since winning the AEW World Tag Team titles on January 5 from the Lucha Brothers, the team has successfully retained the titles against the likes of Alex Reynolds and John Silver of the Dark Order, Private Party, and the Gunn Club in recent weeks.

A segment that took place on Dynamite teased dissension between The Young Bucks and reDragon over their involvement in the upcoming tag battle royals. Adam Cole eventually calmed everyone down.

AEW Rampage spoilers from Atlantic City, New Jersey

Here are results from AEW Rampage, which was taped following tonight’s AEW Dynamite in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

  • The Young Bucks defeated Roppongi Vice (Trent Beretta and Rocky Romero) after the Bucks hit the BTE Trigger on Romero. There was one point during the match where the Bucks attempted to pull Orange Cassidy out from under the ring, but Danhausen appeared instead. After the match, Cassidy laid out Brandon Cutler with the Orange Punch. Jay White then hit the ring and laid out Beretta.
  • AEW Women’s Champion Britt Baker defeated Robyn Renegade in a non-title match. Baker applied the lockjaw submission after the match had ended, but Thunder Rosa made the save. Jamie Hayter and Mercedes Martinez then hit the ring and attacked Rosa. There was an apparent argument between the trio, but Baker ended up cooling everyone down.
  • HOOK defeated Blake Li. QT Marshall was at ringside.
  • Jurassic Express (Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus) defeated The Gunn Club (Austin and Colten Gunn) to retain the AEW World Tag Team titles. Christian Cage broke up an illegal pin by the Gunn Club at one point during the match and also confronted Billy Gunn, who was also at ringside.

AEW will next hold their Dynamite and Rampage tapings at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee next Wednesday.

FTR win AEW World Tag Team titles at All Out

FTR are the new AEW World Tag Team champions.

FTR defeated Hangman Page and Kenny Omega tonight at All Out, ending Omega & Page’s reign after 228 days. The finish came when Omega accidentally v-triggered Page, allowing FTR to hit a spike piledriver after getting rid of Omega. Page kicked out, but did not kick out of a second.

After the match, Omega grabbed a chair and looked at Page, appearing as if he were about to attack Page. When Page got up, Omega let him fall to the ground and walked off, leaving Page by himself in the ring.

Omega stormed off backstage, blowing off The Young Bucks who tried to talk to Omega to calm him down. Omega got into a car and asked the Bucks if they were coming. The Bucks didn’t, leaving Omega to exit the arena by himself.

Page & Omega won the titles on January 21, 2020 during the Chris Jericho Rock ‘N’ Wrestling Rager cruise, defeating SoCal Uncensored (Frankie Kazarian & Scorpio Sky).
