The Gunns crowned AEW Tag Team Champions on Dynamite

Austin Gunn and Colten Gunn are the new AEW World Tag Team Champions.

The Gunns defeated The Acclaimed on Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite Championship Fight Night to claim the Tag titles for the first time.

Austin pinned Anthony Bowens with a schoolboy after a belt shot from Colten in a title match that also featured a referee bump, and a run-in by Billy Gunn.

Billy teased turning on The Acclaimed to help his sons win the titles, as he jumped into the ring while the referee was down. Billy helped Bowens to his feet as Colten was setting up for a belt shot. Billy then pushed Bowens out of the way, eating the belt shot himself.

The finish to the bout came after Bowens attempted a cradle, but was thrown off into the ropes and into another belt shot by Colten.

Earlier in the bout, Max Caster had a visual pinfall on Austin after a Mic Drop, but the referee was out of commission, allowing the former champs a gripe to set up a rematch.

The Acclaimed’s first Tag title run ends after 140 days and six successful defenses.

Gunn Club vs. Varsity Blonds set for AEW Dynamite

A new tag team match has been added to Wednesday’s Dynamite.

A match between The Gunn Club and Varsity Blonds will take place Wednesday following events that took place on Friday’s Rampage.

With father Billy’s help, Colten and Austin Gunn were able to defeat Danhausen and Erick Redbeard. After the match, Billy wasn’t pleased and cut a promo on his sons, saying they needed to toughen up, and mentioned that he missed The Acclaimed. He also said he got them a match for Wednesday.

As Colten and Austin were heading toward the back, they met Stokely Hathaway in the crowd, who had his card. Colten seemed interested in taking the card, but was pulled away by Austin.

Here is the lineup for Wednesday’s Dynamite:

  • Two-out-of-three falls: Bryan Danielson vs. Daniel Garcia
  • AEW World Trios tournament: The Young Bucks & a mystery partner vs. Andrade El Idolo, Rush & Dragon Lee
  • Toni Storm vs. KiLynn King
  • The Gunn Club vs. The Varsity Blonds

CM Punk to team with FTR in AEW Dynamite six-man tag match

CM Punk’s first match as AEW World Champion has been announced for Dynamite.

Tony Khan revealed on Wednesday that Punk will team with FTR to face Max Caster and the Gunn Club on the show. The match comes after Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler came out to celebrate with Punk following his title victory at Double or Nothing.

In an interview with ESPN last week, Punk praised the ROH World Tag Team Champions.

“They’re f—ing artists,” Punk said of FTR. “People who don’t understand pro wrestling will read that and groan. I understand that. But we’re operating on a different level and it’s OK not to understand it. We get it and I appreciate the s— out of both those guys.”

Wednesday’s edition of AEW Dynamite will take place from the Kia Forum in Los Angeles. The updated lineup for the show is as follows:

AEW Rampage spoilers from Atlantic City, New Jersey

Here are results from AEW Rampage, which was taped following tonight’s AEW Dynamite in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

  • The Young Bucks defeated Roppongi Vice (Trent Beretta and Rocky Romero) after the Bucks hit the BTE Trigger on Romero. There was one point during the match where the Bucks attempted to pull Orange Cassidy out from under the ring, but Danhausen appeared instead. After the match, Cassidy laid out Brandon Cutler with the Orange Punch. Jay White then hit the ring and laid out Beretta.
  • AEW Women’s Champion Britt Baker defeated Robyn Renegade in a non-title match. Baker applied the lockjaw submission after the match had ended, but Thunder Rosa made the save. Jamie Hayter and Mercedes Martinez then hit the ring and attacked Rosa. There was an apparent argument between the trio, but Baker ended up cooling everyone down.
  • HOOK defeated Blake Li. QT Marshall was at ringside.
  • Jurassic Express (Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus) defeated The Gunn Club (Austin and Colten Gunn) to retain the AEW World Tag Team titles. Christian Cage broke up an illegal pin by the Gunn Club at one point during the match and also confronted Billy Gunn, who was also at ringside.

AEW will next hold their Dynamite and Rampage tapings at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee next Wednesday.

QT Marshall vs. Billy Gunn set for AEW Dynamite

A match between Billy Gunn and QT Marshall has been added to this week’s Dynamite.

The match was made based on an interview uploaded on AEW’s social media. Austin Gunn, after defeating Aaron Solow on AEW Dark: Elevation, got flustered when asked if the Gunn Club’s feud with The Factory was over. Billy Gunn came in and finished the question for Austin, saying that it wasn’t over. Marshall then showed up and told Billy that it was nothing personal. Gunn said he took it too far by attacking Cody and the rest of the Nightmare Family. Marshall punched out Gunn, asked if that was too far, then walked away.

Marshall attacked Cody and the rest of the Nightmare Family last month, with Aaron Solow, Nick Comoroto, and Anthony Ogogo joining him to form a new group called The Factory.

The lineup for the rest of this week’s Dynamite includes:

  • Darby Allin vs. Jungle Boy for the TNT title
  • Hikaru Shida vs. Tay Conti for the AEW Women’s World title
  • Hangman Page vs. Ricky Starks
  • Christian Cage vs. Powerhouse Hobbs
  • Penta El Zero Miedo vs. Trent
