AEW files new trademark for partnership event with Major League Baseball

AEW filed a trademark for their newest upcoming wrestling event in association with Major League Baseball.

AEW filed to trademark ‘Brawl in the Ballpark’. This comes shortly after their press release announcement on a Major League Baseball game and AEW partnership. The trademark, under the serial number – 99834579 is for ‘entertainment services in the nature of live professional wrestling performances’.

  • Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services in the nature of live professional wrestling performances; Entertainment services in the nature of production of professional wrestling programs and events.

The post-game event will take place on July 10 at Target Field. Ticket sales for exclusive packages have commenced inclusive of a CT Twins and AEW Lucha mask and VIP ringside access.

AEW hosted a one-hour special of Collision on May 9 at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. It was presented as wrestling on a golf course, a unique theme that blends with AEW’s perspective of cross collaboration over the years.

There were two matches featured with Darby Allin defending the AEW World Championship against PAC in the main event, and Mark Davis defeating Jack Perry for the AEW National Championship.

Chris Jericho makes comedic new trademark filing

Amid his ongoing feud with The Demand, Chris Jericho has made a comedic new trademark filing.

Jericho has been feuding with The Demand (Ricochet, Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona) since making his AEW return earlier this month. Trademark records show that Jericho (under his real name Chris Irvine) applied to trademark the term “The Guy Who Gets His Ass Beat By The Demand Every Week That He Shows Up” on April 15, with the trademark intended to cover performances by a professional wrestler:

  • Providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer; Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services, namely, televised appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainer; Entertainment services, namely, personal appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainer; Entertainment services, namely, live appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainer; Providing online interviews featuring professional wrestler and sports entertainer in the field of professional wrestling and sports entertainment for entertainment purposes

There were persistent rumors that Jericho would be heading to WWE around the start of 2026, but he is now back with AEW for the long-term. He’s been at a numbers disadvantage during his feud with The Demand, losing to Ricochet at AEW Dynasty and then being beaten down last night on Dynamite after calling Ricochet “Bald” and referring to Kaun & Liona as “Dumb & Ugly.”

Jericho frequently files trademarks for nicknames, including the term “Cornerstone” last month.

AEW files trademark for potential new event name

On April 13, AEW made two trademark filings relating to a potential new event name.

The company applied to trademark the terms “AEW Redemption” and “Redemption,” with both applications stating that they are for professional wrestling programs/events. Here is what is listed in the goods and services section of each filing:

  • Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services in the nature of live professional wrestling performances; Entertainment services in the nature of production of professional wrestling programs and events; Entertainment services, namely, production and distribution of ongoing television programs in the field of professional wrestling

There’s no word on whether AEW Redemption would be a new pay-per-view or television special for the promotion. When the company files trademarks like this, it’s not guaranteed that anything will ever come of them. AEW still has trademarks for terms like “Exile on Pain St.” that have yet to be used.

Next month, AEW is set to hold a special golf-themed “Fairway to Hell” edition of Collision in West Palm Beach, Florida. The trademark filing for that name was made nearly two years before it was utilized by AEW.

AEW files for ‘Continental Cup’ trademark

Though the Continental Classic won’t be happening until late 2026, AEW made a trademark filing this week that could be related to the tournament.

AEW applied to trademark the term “Continental Cup” on March 16. In the application details, it’s listed that the filing is to cover goods and services related to pro wrestling performances:

Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services in the nature of live professional wrestling performances; Entertainment services in the nature of production of professional wrestling programs and events; Entertainment services, namely, production and distribution of ongoing television programs in the field of professional wrestling

The Continental Classic was introduced in 2023 and has become an important part of AEW’s end-of-year calendar. It’s not known whether this trademark is for a trophy or some kind of other element for the round-robin tournament.

Since its debut, the Continental Classic has been won by Eddie Kingston, Kazuchika Okada, and Jon Moxley. Moxley is the current AEW Continental Champion and is coming off a successful title defense against Konosuke Takeshita at Revolution on Sunday night. Following that match, Will Ospreay made his return from neck surgery and targeted Moxley and the Death Riders.

Tony Khan stated at the post-Revolution press conference that AEW will be introducing Continental Classic tracksuits for the tournament participants.

AEW files trademark for new tag team name

This week, AEW made a new trademark filing for a tag team name it looks to be planning to introduce.

The promotion filed a trademark application for the term “Paid in Full” on February 23. In the goods and services section of the application, it’s directly stated that the trademark is to cover performances by tag team wrestlers:

Conducting entertainment exhibitions in the nature of professional [wrestling] exhibits and performances by professional wrestlers, namely, performances by a tag team of wrestlers during professional wrestling events; Entertainment services in the nature of live professional wrestling performances

AEW has not revealed the identity of this team. It’s not known if they’ll be part of the men’s or women’s tag team division or if they’ll be performing primarily in AEW or ROH.

The current tag team champions in AEW are Harley Cameron & Willow Nightingale on the women’s side and FTR on the men’s side. Building up teams in the division has been a priority for AEW since the Women’s Tag Team titles were introduced. Hyan & Maya World and The IInspiration are among the new additions. In the men’s division, AEW has added Alec Price & Jordan Oliver to its roster.

AEW files trademark for potential new event name

This week, AEW filed a trademark application for what looks to be a new event the promotion is considering running.

An application for the term “Exile on Pain St.” was filed on January 8 with All Elite Wrestling listed as the potential owner. The name looks to be a reference to the classic Rolling Stones “Exile on Main St.” album that was released in the 1970s.

In the filing, AEW lists that the trademark is to cover goods and services related to producing pro wrestling programs and events:

Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services in the nature of live professional wrestling performances; Entertainment services in the nature of production of professional wrestling programs and events; Entertainment services in the nature of a television series in the field of professional wrestling; Entertainment services, namely, production and distribution of ongoing television programs in the field of professional wrestling

There is no indication as to when this potential event would take place or what it would be. AEW often uses titles like this for special episode of Dynamite or Collision, though not all trademarks that the company files for end up being used. There was a series of trademarks in November that we’re still waiting to find out the purpose for. Those filings were for the names AEW Fire, AEW Blitz, AEW Firestorm, and AEW Tidal Wave.

AEW files for new trademark

A new trademark application was submitted by AEW late last week.

On November 14, the promotion applied to trademark the term “Watch AEW.” The goods and services listed on the application indicate that the trademark will be used in relation to the distribution of professional wrestling programs:

Entertainment services in the nature of live professional wrestling performances; Entertainment services in the nature of production of professional wrestling television programs; Entertainment services, namely, production and distribution of ongoing television programs in the field of professional wrestling; Providing television programs, not downloadable, via streaming transmission services; Providing non-downloadable videos in the field of professional wrestling via streaming transmission services

The term is similar to “Watch ROH,” which is used as the website name for ROH’s Honor Club streaming service. HBO Max is the streaming home of AEW programming in the United States, while the promotion also has its AEW Plus service on Triller TV for international audiences.

Four other new trademark applications were also submitted by AEW last week, with all of those being potential event/special names. AEW applied for the following:

  • AEW Fire
  • AEW Blitz
  • AEW Firestorm
  • AEW Tidal Wave

AEW files for series of new trademarks

On November 12, AEW filed for a series of new trademarks.

Four new trademark applications were submitted by AEW, with all appearing to be for potential new show, event, or series names. Nothing more is known about the trademarks or what AEW intends to use them for.

These are the four terms that AEW filed for:

  • AEW Fire
  • AEW Blitz
  • AEW Firestorm
  • AEW Tidal Wave

All of the trademarks are listed as covering the following good and services:

Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services in the nature of live professional wrestling performances; Entertainment services in the nature of production of professional wrestling television programs; Entertainment services, namely, production and distribution of ongoing television programs in the field of professional wrestling

The most recent AEW trademark filings prior to these were when the company applied for the terms “AEW Bacon Brawl” and “Bacon Brawl” back in September. There has been no follow up on those filings yet, but speculation was that they were for a food partnership like the one AEW has with White Castle.

Chris Jericho abandons trademark for ‘The Jericho Vortex’

After submitting an application in 2024, Chris Jericho has abandoned his trademark filing for “The Jericho Vortex.”

The United States Patent and Trademark Office issued a notice of abandonment regarding the trademark on October 21. The reason for the abandonment is that Jericho did not submit a statement of use or an extension request in the six-month period after the trademark was officially allowed.

Jericho was using “The Jericho Vortex” in a tongue-in-cheek way after fans had adopted the term as a way of saying his AEW opponents were worse off after facing him. Jericho did not believe that was true, saying those he worked with usually ended up in a better place than they were previously.

The trademark was to cover the following goods and services:

Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer; Entertainment services, namely, live appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainer; Entertainment services, namely, personal appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainer; Entertainment services, namely, televised appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainer; Providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; Providing online interviews featuring a professional wrestling and sports entertainment personality in the field of professional wrestling and sports entertainment for entertainment purposes

At the end of 2025, Jericho’s contract with AEW is slated to expire. There are rumors that he could be headed back to WWE, though Jericho has not closed the door on re-signing with AEW in the times he’s spoken about his contract status.

AEW files for two bacon-related trademarks

This week, AEW applied for two new bacon-related trademarks: “AEW Bacon Brawl” and “Bacon Brawl.”

The promotion filed for the trademarks on September 24, with the applications listing that they are for goods and services relating to cookware, merchandise, and food:

  • Non-electric cookware, namely, pots, pans, and dishes; Flatware being plates and saucers; Drinkware; Cups; Mugs; Utensils for barbecues, namely, forks, tongs, turners; Kitchen containers
  • Shirts; Pants; T-shirts; Sweatshirts; Shorts; Headwear; Footwear; Socks; Undergarments
  • Prepared meals consisting primarily of meat, fish, poultry or vegetables

While it hasn’t been confirmed what these new trademarks will be used for, the good and services provide an indication. They are the same as were listed in the “All Elite Feast” trademark filing that AEW made in July. That trademark ended up being for a new partnership between AEW and fast food restaurant White Castle. They launched an online-exclusive kit last month where customers could order an All Elite Feast meal and have it shipped to them.

That AEW-White Castle collaboration meal included 10 classic slider burgers, 10 cheddar bacon cheese sliders, pickles, desserts, coupons, and two exclusive pieces of AEW merchandise.

AEW files trademark for new faction name

AEW has filed a trademark for “The Demand” — Ricochet & The Gates of Agony’s new faction name.

The newly named group was victorious at All Out this past weekend, defeating The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin & MVP) in trios action. Records show that AEW made a filing on September 21 to secure the rights to “The Demand” trademark.

In the application, it’s stated that the trademark covers goods and services related to pro wrestling performances:

Conducting entertainment exhibitions in the nature of professional [wrestling] exhibitions and performances by professional wrestlers, namely, performances by a team of wrestlers during professional wrestling events; Entertainment services in the nature of live professional wrestling performances

At the post-All Out press conference, Ricochet said The Demand made a statement with their victory and now have their sights set on getting another Trios title shot. The Opps (Samoa Joe, Powerhouse Hobbs & Katusyori Shibata) retained the belts over Ricochet & The Gates of Agony this August after MVP Interfered and hit Ricochet with a cane.

The Gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona) are former ROH Trios Champions with Brian Cage prior to linking up with Ricochet in this new faction.

All Out marked the second straight PPV for Ricochet & The Gates of Agony, with them having defeated “Speedball” Mike Bailey, Kevin Knight & Michael Oku on the Forbidden Door 2025 pre-show.

New AEW trademark filing hints at potential upcoming special

Ahead of the promotion’s upcoming residency at the former ECW Arena, AEW has filed for a new trademark that looks to be for an upcoming special.

AEW will begin a seven-show residency at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia on August 27. The residency lasts through September 11 and includes three Dynamite episodes, three Collisions, and ROH’s Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view. It appears that at least one of the Dynamite or Collision episodes could be specially themed, with AEW recently applying to trademark the term “September to Remember.”

The filing was made on August 18 and is for goods and services related to a pro wrestling event:

Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services in the nature of live professional wrestling performances; Entertainment services in the nature of production of professional wrestling programs and events

The trademark filing is inspired by “November to Remember,” which was the name of one of ECW’s PPVs.

AEW’s Philadelphia residency begins with the post-Forbidden Door edition of Dynamite and is happening in advance of All Out 2025. The All Out PPV is being held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on September 20.

Reason for AEW ‘All Elite Feast’ trademark revealed

We now know why AEW recently applied to trademark the term “All Elite Feast.”

The trademark filing was made on July 14 and was listed as covering goods and services relating to merchandise and cookware. While the trademark was puzzling at the time, it’s now been revealed as part of a collaboration between AEW and fast food restaurant White Castle.

On White Castle’s House of Crave website, the “All Elite Feast kit” is now available for $65. The meal is listed as feeding 4-5 people, along with including two pieces of exclusive AEW merchandise.

“This exclusive White Castle x All Elite Wrestling All Elite Feast contains a Dynamite meal that’ll slam your tastebuds into submission!,” White Castle wrote. “The All Elite Feast packs everything you need to tag in your appetite and deliver the ultimate crave-worthy experience straight to your ring—no matter where you are.”

White Castle notes that those who order the online-exclusive kit will receive it on or before September 11. It includes the following items:

  • 10 Classic Cheese Sliders
  • 10 NEW Cheddar Bacon Cheese Sliders
  • 1 Pouch with pickles (7oz)
  • 2 Gooey Butter Cake Dessert-on-a-Stick
  • 2 Strawberry Swirl Cheesecake Dessert-on-a-Stick
  • Slider Boxes and VIP Coupons good for up to 12 Sliders from your local freezer aisle
  • And 2 pieces of exclusive AEW merchandise

White Castle has existed since 1921 and offers frozen products in grocery stores in addition to serving food at its physical locations. Hamburger sliders are the restaurant’s signature product.

Tony Khan reveals idea behind AEW ‘Fairway to Hell’ trademark

In a new interview, Tony Khan explained the idea behind an interesting trademark that AEW filed for last year.

AEW applied to trademark the term “Fairway to Hell” for merchandising and golf tournament purposes in June 2024. Nothing has come of the trademark yet, but Khan revealed on Barstool Sports’ My Mom’s Basement podcast that he’s had the idea of holding a golf tournament that could raise money for charity while also hopefully bringing new fans to both golf and wrestling.

The golf tournament would be called “Fairway to Heaven” — with a special “Fairway to Hell” edition of AEW Dynamite then taking place in the same region the next day.

“I had this amazing idea that I think the Barstool audience would love and I think golf fans would love. I really want to do something that I think would be for a great cause, and it’s a charity golf tournament and it would be great for wrestling and it would be great for wrestling fans,” Khan said. “Hopefully it could bring some new fans to golf and some new fans to wrestling, because I think there’s more of a crossover than people would realize between the sports.

“And I want to do a charity golf tournament — and this is a thing I’m breaking on My Mom’s Basement with the great Robbie Fox — I want to do a charity golf tournament called ‘Fairway to Heaven.’ And then have wrestlers and golfers and people participate for charity at Fairway to Heaven. Have the charity golf tournament on Tuesday and then do Dynamite in the same city or same location/region on Wednesday — ‘Fairway to Hell.’ Fairway to Heaven, Fairway to Hell, it would be great right? And I think it’d be awesome.”

It remains to be seen when or if the inaugural editions of Fairway to Heaven or Fairway to Hell will take place.

Khan’s full appearance on My Mom’s Basement is available to watch below:
