AEW Rampage live results: Homecoming

Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida hosts this week’s AEW Rampage Homecoming episode. 

Swerve Strickland will face Matt Sydal on the show. Strickland was involved in a promo segment on this week’s Dynamite where he was established as one of three top contenders to World Champion Samoa Joe’s title. 

AEW Continental Crown Champion Eddie Kingston will defend his title on the show against ROH Pure Champion Wheeler Yuta. Yuta’s title will not be on the line in the match. Kingston won the Continental Classic finals at Worlds End last month to earn the Continental Crown.

In a women’s division contest, former Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida faces Queen Aminata. 

In a six-man tag team contest, The Dark Order’s Alex Reynolds, John Silver, and Evil Uno will face “Daddy Magic” Matt Menard, “Cool Hand Ang” Angelo Parker, and Jake Hager.

Eddie Kingston defeated ROH Pure Champion Wheeler Yuta to retain the Continental Crown (17:13)

Excalibur stressed on commentary a few times that all three of Kingston’s championships (New Japan Strong, ROH World, and AEW Continental) were on the line in this match.

Both these men made their AEW debut’s in Daily’s Place during the pandemic, so it really is a homecoming for them. Very good mat work from both men to start. Kingston used a rope break to get out of a front facelock, and Yuta kicked him in the head. This fired Kingston up, but Yuta dumped him to the floor and then him with a tope. Back in the ring, Yuta hit a high crossbody for a one count.

Yuta missed a dive in the corner, and Kingston battered him with machine gun chops. Yuta came back and started working on Kingston’s arm, yanking him down to the mat by the arm. Yuta battered him outside, send him arm-first into the ring barricade, dropkicking him in the arm and stomping on his arm.

Back in the ring, Yuta stretched Kingston with a surfboard. Kingston powered out, but Yuta came back right away with a dropkick.

Yuta kept working over Kingston’s arm during a split-screen break. After the break, Yuta did like a code breaker to Kingston’s arm for a near fall. Yuta got too cocky for his own good with some kicks, and Kingston got a brief flurry on offense before Yuta went back to the arm to take him down. Yuta slapped Kingston, who came back with an arm capture suplex. Kingston missed a charge in the corner, but caught Yuta with an exploder suplex and both men were down.

Kingston caught Yuta with a knee and drove him down with a DDT for a near fall. Kingston’s selling of the arm was next level, as was Yuta’s psychology to constantly get after the arm. Kingston would throw a chop, then sell the pain in the arm. Kingston set up Yuta for a superplex, but Yuta countered with a diving DDT out of the corner for a near fall.

Yuta hit the hammer and tong elbows, then went for a juji gatame. He transitioned that into the Disamerher, but Kingston escaped. Yuta caught Kingston with a german suplex for another close near fall. Kingston hit an enziguri, but Yuta caught Kingston with an Angle slam. Yuta came off the top with a frog splash for another near fall.

Yuta locked in a double writstlock. Kingston powered up and backed Yuta into the ropes for a break. More kicks to the arm, but Kingston backhanded Yuta and dropped him with a Saito suplex. Kingston hit the spinning backfist, but Yuta didn’t go down! Kingston hit a half-and-half suplex, then the northern lights bomb to get the pinfall.

What. A. Match. I’m disappointed the crowd wasn’t nearly as into as I was; but it was a late, cold night for them.

– Rene Paquette interviewed the Hardy Boys and Mark Briscoe. Jeff Hardy bragged about Rampage beating Collision in the ratings. Why? Matt Hardy wants to win the Trios title with Mark, and Jeff made Mark an honorary Hardy with a Hardy boys chain. I’m not entirely sure Briscoe knows what to think of all this. 

Swerve Strickland (w/ Prince Nana & The Mogul Embassy) defeated Matt Sydal (4:30)

Everything about Swerve exudes superstar.

Sydal caught Strickland with a step-up rana, but Strickland did a handstand out of the move and landed on his feet. Strickland dominated Sydal. He hit a diving elbow into the back of Sydal’s shoulders, then picked him up in a torture rack and dropped down to his knees. Swerve caught him with an inverted backbreaker. Sydal blocked a kick and hit an air raid crash for a near fall. Strickland hit a rolling flatliner and vertical suplex. Sydal tried a casadora into a cradle, but Strickland overpowered him, then dropped him with the JML Driver for the pinfall. 

This was exactly what it needed to be.

– Private Party challenged any two of Top Flight and Action Andretti for a tag match. Whatever happens, Andretti will be well-hydrated for it. 

Hikaru Shida defeated Queen Aminada (6:50)

These two matched up 13 months ago on Rampage. Aminada debuted in Daily’s Place, and Shida is another pandemic-era Daily’s Place star. Aminada hit a hip attack and a sliding boot in the corner.

After the break, Shida and Aminada exchanged kicks to each other’s back. Shida hit a dragon screw legwhip. Aminada hit a headbutt and a german suplex, but Shida came back with a short arm lariat. Aminada escaped a suplex attempt and hit a sliding knee strike for another near fall. Aminada went for a double stomp off the top, but Shida rolled out of the way and hit a falcon arrow. Shida hit the Katana spinning kick and got the pinfall. 

Shida made Aminada look like a million bucks here. Shida and Aminada shared an embrace after the match. 

– Saraya showed Ruby Soho footage of Harely Cameron kissing Angelo Parker. And on Ruby’s birthday no less! When Angleo Parker showed up with a birthday cake, Soho shoved it in his face! Rene Paquette called Parker a naughty name, and once the ladies left the footage (that had been paused on the kiss) showed Parker pushing Cameron away and screaming in disgust.

Evil Uno, John Silver & Alex Reynolds (w/ -1) defeated Jake Hager, Matt Menard & Angelo Parker (10:24)

In one of the greatest continuity bits ever, Parker came out for the match with his face covered in icing. The Dark Order and -1 were huge babyfaces here. Hager was wearing a giant gold chain. Reynolds tagged in a hit a pair of back elbows on Menard. Parker came in and Uno caught him with a german suplex. The Dark Order hit Menard with a series of avalanche clotheslines in the corner.

During the break, Hager and his partners triple teamed Reynolds on the floor. But once the break was over, Reynolds got the hot tag and the Dark Order took over. Uno hit a top rope swanton bomb on Parker for a near fall. Silver caught Parker with kicks against the ropes. Silver hit Parker with a gamingiri and took out Hager and Menard. The Dark Order hit the pendulum powerbomb on Parker for a near fall.

Menard and Parker hit a double DDT on Reynolds, and Hager came in with Hager Bomb for two. Hager locked in the ankle lock, but -1 pulled out Jake Hager’s hat for the distraction. “Tony, he loves that hat!” Uno took out Menard and Parker with a double clothesline on the floor while Hager got the hat back. But, Silver and Reynolds double-teamed Hager with the gamingiri into the rolling forearm into the enziguri into the stunner into the german suplex into the jackknife cover for the three count. 

This was the perfect comedy match and a great way to end a fun show! 

AEW Rampage live results: The Hardys & Mark Briscoe in trios action

The Hardys & Mark Briscoe will team up in trios action on tonight’s AEW Rampage. 

Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, & Briscoe will take on The Butcher, The Blade, & Kip Sabian in a six-man tag team match. 

An ROH Pure Championship defense is also scheduled for the show, as Wheeler Yuta defends against Komander. Yuta defended his title on last week’s Rampage against Matt Sydal, but lost at Saturday’s Worlds End Zero Hour show in an FTW title match against Hook.

Two women’s division contests are also set for Rampage. 

In singles competition, Hikaru Shida will take on Anna Jay. 

In a tag team match, Kris Statlander & Willow Nightingale will face off against two enhancement talents. Nightingale handed Statlander her first loss in a singles match since May 2022 on last Saturday’s Worlds End Zero Hour pay-per-view pre-show.

Mark Briscoe & The Hardys (Matt Hardy & Jeff Hardy) defeated Kip Sabian, The Butcher & The Blade (11:14)

Riccaboni actually remembered that months ago, Sabian was running down Phiadelphia sports team on Rampage, and used that as backstory for this match. 

Sabian was soon in trouble, suffering a double suplex from the Hardys. Sabian raked Jeff Hardy’s eyes and got the tag to the Blade. Tony Schiavone said the Hardys “haven’t lost a step,” which might be his biggest exaggeration since he described some of those 2000s Nitros as “the greatest night in the history of our sport.”

Matt Hardy hit a middle rope splash on the Butcher (that spot used to be a legdrop), but Butcher came back with a clothesline. Matt got worked over by the heel trio in their corner. Matt came back with an inverted neckbreaker and got the tag to Mark Briscoe, who hit some “redneck kung fu” on his opponents. Briscoe cleared the ring with a middle rope dropkick, then dove through the ropes to hit a dropkick on the Blade. Butcher caught Briscoe with kind of F-5 on the ring apron, and Sabian followed up with an Arabian press on Briscoe. Briscoe got triple teamed in the heel corner, and Butcher with an inverted backbreaker for a near fall. 

The heels worked over Briscoe through the split-screen break. Briscoe exchanged “Boo! Yay!” punches (when the crowd boos the heel punches and cheers the babyface punches) with The Blade, then caught him with a neckbreaker. Jeff Hardy got the hot tag and Sabian bumped off some elbow for him. Jeff hit a middle rope splash for a near fall. The Hardys stacked Butcher and Blade in the corner, then Jeff whiffed on Poetry in Motion in the corner.

The heels got the advantage on Matt and held him open for a springboard dropkick, but Jeff broke that up and Sabian dropkicked his partners out of the ring instead. Sabian suffered a Twist of Fate from Matt, a Swanjob from Jeff and a Froggie Bow from Briscoe, and Mark Briscoe got the pinfall.

– Renee Paquette interviewed Sammy Guevara and Chris Jericho. Guevara cut a promo about his singles match with Ricky Starks on Dynamite Wednesday. Jericho warned Big Bill to stay away, or else he will gonna knock Bill’s teeth out “and Uncle Joe is gonna cry!” 

Kris Statlander & Willow Nightingale defeated Notorious Mimi and Kenedi Hardcastle (2:33)

Stokley Hathaway did the ring introductions for this match. He put over Statlander huge, barely acknowledged Nightingale, and didn’t even know who Mimi and Hardcastle were.

Statlander and Nightingale took turns slamming Mimi, then Nightingale hit a senton. Hardcastle and Mimi actually got a bit of an advantage on Nightingale, until she reversed a double suplex. Stalander hit a double clothesline, power slammed Hardcastle and dropped Mimi onto Copeland. Nightingale got the pinfall after a spinebuster on Mimi. 

– Renee Paquette interviewed the Hardy Boys. Jeff said they need to get on Dynamite “and bring up those ratings.” Private Party interrupted, and the Matt congratulated them for striking out on their own. Matt Hardy subtly credit for the newfound confidence of Private Party, then condescendingly gifted Private Party “ring worn Hardy Boys t-shirts.” This felt like the start of a heel turn for the Hardys. 

Hikaru Shida defeated Anna Jay (7:56 aired)

There is a long-term story being told with Shida and Jay. They first wrestled on the early pandemic tapings from QT Marshall’s gym, Jay’s first match in the company. Each time Jay has wrestled Shida, she is getting closer to victory. In this match, Jay flat out dominated in the early goings and through a commercial break. After the break, Jay continued to dominate. Shida caught Jay with a lariat and the Falcon Arrow. But Jay countered the pin attempt into a cradle for a very close near fall (the crowd actually thought Jay won and kind of turned on Shida a bit). Jay went for the Queen Slayer, but Shida escaped and hit a sliding knee for a near fall. Shida came of the top with a meteora, and hit a spinning kick to get the pinfall. This was a great effort of Jay and a fantastic story. After the match, Shida was bleeding from the mouth. 

– Apparently, Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal are no longer getting along. Sonjay Dutt tried to mediate the dispute, and this did not go well. Jarrett called Lethal a loser. Lethal said Jarrett wouldn’t win any matches without his help. Jarrett said he was a “12 time world champion.”  Bottom line, it looks like Jay Lethal is going babyface. 

Wheeler Yuta vs. Komander (w/Alex Abrahantes) for the ROH Pure Championship

Jimmy Jacobs, Pat Buck and Christopher Daniels were the judges for this match.

This is the Pure Champion Yuta’s 3rd title defense. There is a running clock on the screen for the match, which they should be doing for every match to enhance the “sports based” presentation they’re going for.

Barely a minute into the match, Komander had to use a rope break to get out of an armbar. Komader came back with some clever matwork of his own, transitioning from a Lag Magistral cradle into a half crab. Yuta had to break the hold with his own first rope break. Komander sent Yuta to the floor with a rana. Komader went for a plancha, and Yuta cut him off on the dive with a fist that maybe caught Komader in the face (which is illegal under “Pure Rules”) .

After a split-screen break, Yuta is stretching Komader, who had to use one of his rope breaks during the break. Komader came back with a springboard dropkick, but was selling his injured left shoulder. Komader hit a spinning DDT but a weak cover only got him a near fall.

Komader went for a splash, but Yuta avoided it and caught Komader with an angle slam. Yuta got a hammerlock on Komader, and he had to use his third rope break. Komader caught Yuta with a cradle out of a rana for a near fall. Komader hit a back heel kick, but Yuta came back with a boot. A german suplex from Yuta got a near fall. Yuta went for the seatbelt, but Komader countered with a sunset flip for a near fall. Yuta rolled out and into the hammerlock again. Komader went to the ropes, but since Komader’s rope breaks were exhausted, Yuta did not have to release the hold. Unable to escape, Komader tapped out. Very good bout, and I liked that the “Pure Rules” played into the finish of the match. 

AEW Rampage live results: New Year’s Smash

The ROH Pure Championship will be defended on tonight’s AEW Rampage New Year’s Smash episode. 

Wheeler Yuta will defend the Pure title against Matt Sydal on the show. Yuta will challenge Hook for the FTW Championship in an FTW rules match on the pre-show at Saturday’s Worlds End pay-per-view. 

A trios match is also set for tonight’s show, as AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy teams with Trent Beretta & Rocky Romero against Action Andretti & Top Flight’s Darius Martin & Dante Martin. 

In a women’s division contest, Ruby Soho will have Saraya & Harley Cameron in her corner as she takes on Marina Shafir with Nyla Rose in Shafir’s corner. 

Prior to teaming with Sammy Guevara, Sting, & Darby Allin against Big Bill, Ricky Starks, Powerhouse Hobbs, & Kyle Fletcher at Worlds End, we will hear from Chris Jericho on tonight’s show.

Rampage New Year’s Smash was taped Wednesday night in Orlando, Florida.

Excalibur and Tony Schiavone were on commentary, while Chris Jericho headed to the ring for an interview. 

Jericho talked up his eight man tag match at World’s End tomorrow night (the first time Sting and Jericho will team up), and called Sammy Guevara out to iron out their differences. Guevara came out, and Jericho asked why Guevara turned on him after their match at Grand Slam last September. Guevara blamed Jericho for his lack of success, but looked inward and realized he was holding himself back. Guevara apologized, and Jericho apologized for being controlling and maybe pushing him in the wrong direction. Don Callis takes advantage of “young guys” with confidence issues, but Jericho believes in Guevara. Jericho asked Guevara to reunite “Le Sex Gods” (and cash in Jericho’s guaranteed tag title match), and of course Guevara agreed with a hug. What a heartwarming holiday opening to the show. Strike the Le Sex Gods pose guys! 

– Rene Paquette interviewed Daniel Garcia and Matt Menard, who promised to get back at the House of Black for the beatdown on Collision last Saturday. I don’t like their odds.

Ruby Soho (w/Saraya & Harley Cameron) defeated Marina Shafir (w/Nyla Rose) (5:11)

Shafir threw her dirty socks into the crowd. Ew.

Shafir got a near fall after a sliding dropkick. A fight broke out between all the women on the floor, which ended with Cameron on her back and Rose chasing Saraya through the crowd. Soho hit the No Future for a near fall. Soho missed a double stomp off the top and Shafir hit some kind of sloppy looking suplex or throw. Cameron distracted Shafir from the ring apron, and Soho rolled up Shafir for the pinfall. 

– The Don Callis Family, Big Bill and Ricky Starks cut a promo on their opponents in the 8-man tag tomorrow night. Uncle Joe will be there to see Big Bill get the victory! 

– Rene Paquette interviewed Willow Nightingale and Kris Statlander at Willow’s request to clear the air between them. Willow wants to team with Statlander at World’s End, but Stokley Hathaway returns to stir up trouble between them (again) and suggests a match between Statlander and Nightingale for World’s End. Nightingale was unsure about it but Statlander was more than happy to except.

Both men exchanged crucifix attempts for near falls early. Yuta caught Sydal with a chop, and Sydal came back with a hard kick. Sydal hit a mariposa on Yuta for a near fall. Yuta dropped Sydal with a backdrop suplex.

After a long commercial, Sydal hit a spinning leg lariat. Sydal hit a series of high kicks and an Air Raid Crash for a near fall. Yuta hit a german suplex with a bridge for a near fall. Yuta hit a variation of the Angle slam for a near fall, then locked in a chickenwing/crossface combo. Sydal had to use a rope break to escape the hold. Yuta got away with a closed fist. Sydal caught Yuta with a casadora for a near fall. Sydal escaped a seatbelt attempt, but Yuta battered him with the hammer and anvil elbows. Yuta then locked in the seatbelt to get the pinfall.

After the match, self-proclaimed ROH Legend Danhausen (2019-2021, you can google it) came out, declared himself the fourth judge and disqualified Wheeler Yuta. Yuta nailed Danhausen and beat him with the elbows until Hook came out to chase Yuta away.

Action Andretti & Top Flight (Darius Martin & Dante Martin) defeated Orange Cassidy, Rocky Romero & Trent Beretta (12:40)

Dante hit a springboard senton on Beretta, then used his brother as a springboard for a tornado DDT on Romero. Then Top Flight and Andretti hit a triple dive on the floor on the Best Friends team.

After a split-screen break, Andretti caught Romero with a pop-up enziguri, a gamingiri and a springboard clothesline. Beretta and Dante got tags. Darius got the tag and a near fall after a flatliner. Cassidy hit Darius with a Stundog Millionaire, but Andretti hit a shotgun dropkick on Cassidy that sent him into a german suplex from Dante. Andretti hit a springboard 450 on Beretta, but Cassidy and Romero broke up the pin attempt.

Cassidy and Dante were the legal men, and Cassidy ate a thrust kick. Romero came in a hit an enziguri on Dante. Darius came in with a kick on Romero, and Beretta hit a backdrop driver on Darius. Andretti hit the arabian press on Beretta on the floor. Back in the ring, Andretti caught Romero climbing the ropes with a kick. Andretti went to the top but Beretta followed him and german suplexed Andretti off the top rope.

Beretta went for the Strong Zero, but Darius superkicked him and Dante turned it into a Code Red. Cassidy hit the Orange Punch on Darius, and Dante rolled up Cassidy for a near fall. Cassidy went for the Orange Punch on Dante, but Dante blocked it with a double knee strike. Romeo came off the top on Dante, but Dante countered it into a spinning enziguri and got the pinfall. A good match, but the not at the level of the main event the last few weeks. 

AEW Rampage live results: Holiday Bash

Two title matches will take place on tonight’s AEW Rampage Holiday Bash episode. 

AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy will defend his title against fellow CHAOS & Best Friends stablemate Rocky Romero in a match set up with a backstage promo segment on Wednesday’s Dynamite episode. 

In a rematch from last Friday’s ROH Final Battle, AAA Mega Champion El Hijo del Vikingo will defend against Black Taurus. Vikingo successfully retained the title over Taurus at Final Battle. 

In a women’s division contest, Skye Blue will face Queen Aminata. It will be the first match for Blue since she aligned with House of Black’s Julia Hart on last Saturday’s AEW Collision episode.

In tag team action, The Kingdom’s Mike Bennett & Matt Taven will face Matt Hardy & Jeff Hardy. Roderick Strong will accompany The Kingdom at ringside.

Orange Cassidy defeated Rocky “Azucar” Romero to retain the AEW International Championship (10:50)

Rocky Romero (who did not get a TV entrance, which telegraphed his chances here) accidentally challenged Cassidy on Dynamite. Trent Beretta was in a neutral corner in this match, since he has history with both men.

Romero hit Cassidy with a tope suicida on the floor, then caught him with a step-up hurricanrana on the floor. Literally a step up hurricanrana, he used the ringside stairs as a springboard for the move. Back in the ring, Romero hit an infinite series of clotheslines until Cassidy caught him with a cazadora into a cradle for a near fall. Romero hit a side backbreaker for a near fall. Cassidy came back with a tornado DDT, then hit a tope suicida of his own. Back in the ring, Cassidy tried another tornado DDT, but Romero countered with a suplex. Romero suplexed Cassidy on the ring apron and both men fell to the floor, just in time for a split screen commercial break!

After the break, both men exchanged blows mid-ring. Cassidy hit a superkick and the Orange Punch, but wasn’t in a position to cover. Cassidy with the “high impact” kicks that actually really became high impact kicks. He turned Romero over with a PK, but Romero came back with a knee strike and the Sliced Bread for a near fall.

Romero went for the Strong Zero, but Cassiddy escaped and both men got cradles for near falls. Cassidy dove into a knee strike, and Romero hit a spinning DDT and the Strong Zero for another near fall. Cassidy pushed off another attempt at the Sliced Bread, hit an Orange Punch, and delivered the Beach Break to get the pinfall. Great opener.

After the match, you’ve got to give the people what they want! A group hug in the center of the ring.  

– The stars of AEW gave toys to the community this week.

– Tony Schiavone interviewed Kris Statlander about her big win on Collision last week with Willow Nightingale. This was interrupted by Stokely Hathaway, who was there to try and stir up dissension between Statlander and Nightingale. 

– Prince Nana and Brian Cage were excited backstage. Brian Cage, “The Vanilla Gorilla,” will take on Keith Lee on Collision tomorrow night. I can’t believe a year later they’re finally getting around to Lee v. Swerve.

Matt Taven & Mike Bennett (w/ Roderick Strong) defeated The Hardy Boys.

Why are Taven and Bennett still called “The Kingdom” instead of “Neckstrong?” Before the match, Strong got the names of various fans in the crowd, shouted their names and called them stupid. Fantastic. “If I call people stupid, I gotta go to H.R.” quipped Excaliabur.

Taven caught Matt with an enziguri, then got the tag to Bennett. Bennett went for a Twist of Fate, but Matt pushed him off. Matt and Jeff combined for Poetry in Motion on Bennett. Jeff went for the senton, but Taven distracted Jeff and Bennett crotched him on the top turnbuckle. 

(Usually it’s the women’s match that gets the long split-screen commercial into a full break on Rampage, but tonight it was this tag match.)

After a long commercial, Jeff crawled to his corner for the tag. Bennett tried to cut off Matt, but Matt gave him a side effect on the ring apron. Matt got the tag and Taven helpfully ran into clotheslines from Matt. Matt yanked Taven out of the corner into a sitdown powerbomb for a near fall. A Side Effect in the ring got Matt another near fall. Matt hit Bennett with the Twist of Fate. Taven escaped the Twist of Fate, and the fight went to the floor. Hardy whipped Taven into the ring barricades and the ring announcers table.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the ring, Hardy beat on Bennett with his boot. Matt whipped Bennett into the steel stairs, then sent him head firsts into all of the steel stairs. Referee Rick Knox and Matt Hardy fought over a steel chair, which Knox got away from Hardy. Then, back in the ring, Taven rolled up Matt Hardy and got the pinfall.

– During  Rene Paquette’s interview with Ruby Soho, Jeff Parker arrived and asked Soho out for a drink. Before she could answer, Saraya interrupted and initially acted in support of Soho and Parker’s new romance. But once Soho was out of earshot, she told Parker she hated him.

Skye Blue defeated Queen Aminata (3:44)

Aminata caught Blue with a Twist and Shout early for a quick near fall. The fight went to the floor, and Blue tossed Aminata into the ring barricade. Back in the ring, Aminata came back with a release german suplex. Aminata hit the hip attack and sliding boot in the corner for a near fall. Aminata went to the top for a moonsault, but Blue rolled out of the way. Blue hit a superkick, then a TKO into what was supposed to be a Dragon Sleeper and got the quick tap out. 

El Hijo Del Vikingo defeated Black Taurus to retain the AAA Mega Championship (14:13)

So I know Taurus is supposed to be a threat to Vikingo, but I feel like I’ve already seen Taurus lose to Vikingo a dozen times. And then Excalibur said the record between Vikingo and Taurus is 3-2. But why do I feel like Taurus has no chance?

Taurus countered a step-up rana from Vikingo and hit a step-up rana of his own. Taurus ran into a forearm from Vikingo, but Taurus came back with a pop-up Samoan Drop for a near fall.

After a split-screen break, Vikingo hit a springboard dropkick that Taurus shrugged off. Taurus countered a poison rana, but missed a dive in the corner and hit the floor. Taurus avoided a dive from Vikingo by sliding back in the ring, and the hit a tornio through the ropes. Vikingo sent Taurus into the steel post and hit a Tiger Feint Kick using the apron. Taurus caught Vikingo on a dive but Vikingo countered that into a vertical powerslam on the floor.

Vikingo went to the top and hit a sky twister press on the floor. Back in the ring, Vikingo hit an enziguri out of the corner. Vikingo hit a springboard poison rana and a crucifix bomb, but Taurus came back with a spear and both guys were down.

Taurus set up Vikingo on the top rope, then gorilla press slammed Vikingo while standing on the top rope for a near fall. Taurus hit a backbreaker out of a torture rack, powerbombed Vikingo straight on his neck, then hit a discus lariat for another near fall. The crowd chanted “Fight Forever!” while Taurus figured out what to do next.

Vikingo hit a spin kick, then flipped over Taurus into a powerbomb. Vikingo hit a running meteora on Taurus, going through Taurus and the ropes to the floor. Vikingo hit a Canadian Destoyer out of the corner, a pair of knees in the corner, and then the 630 Senton to get the pinfall. Amazing match. This felt like a better match than their ROH match last Friday and is well worth seeking out.

Final Thoughts:

Two great matches in an hour. Can’t complain about that. Happy Holidays! 

AEW Rampage live results: Winter is Coming

Kevin Von Erich will be in the corner of sons Ross Von Erich & Marshall Von Erich on tonight’s AEW Rampage. 

The Von Erichs will team with Orange Cassidy against Matt Menard, Angelo Parker, and Jake Hager in trios action on tonight’s episode. The show was taped Wednesday night in Arlington, Texas. The Von Erichs were in live action earlier tonight at ROH Final Battle taking on The Outrunners.

In the women’s division, Anna Jay will take on Red Velvet. 

The Don Callis Family will be in tag team action on the show as Callis corners Powerhouse Hobbs & Kyle Fletcher against two enhancement talents. 

Another trios bout is also set for the show, as AAA Mega Champion El Hijo del Vikingo teams with Penta El Zero Miedo & Komander against Action Andretti & Top Flight’s Darius Martin & Dante Martin.

Vikingo was also in action at Final Battle, defending the Mega title against Black Taurus.

Excalibur, Chris Jericho & Tony Schiavone were on commentary. 

Orange Cassidy, Ross & Marshall Von Erich (w/ Danhausen and Jake Hager’s Hat) vs. Matt Menard, Angelo Parker & Jake Hager

Excalibur and Jericho gave conflicting stories on how Danhausen acquired the hate; Excalibur said he bought it off a sports memorabilia website, but Jericho said Danhausen stole it from his bag. Marshall Von Erich wrestles barefoot like his father. The Von Erichs looked okay early on. Hager and Cassidy got the tags and Cassidy tried to use his speed, but Hager overpowered him. Cassidy came back with pocket power and a spinning DDT. Menand and Parker executed an illegal double-team behind the ref’s back, and Hager got a near fall. 

Hager worked over Cassidy with an armbar during a split-screen break. Hager went for the Vader bomb, but Cassidy got his feet up and got the tag to Marshall Von Erich. Marshall hit a discus punch and a pair of avalanche clotheslines in the corner. Marshall caught Parker with a dropkick. Marshall snapmared Menard into a PK kick from his brother. Cassidy hit Hager with a Stundog Millionaire. The Von Erichs dropkicked Hager out of the ring, and Cassidy followed him out with a plancha.

Back in the ring, Parker went for a couple of quick cradles on Marhsall, but Marshall countered with a roll-up of his own and got the three count.

After the match, the heels jumped the Von Erichs. Danhausen went for the curse, but the heels overwhelmed him. Hager was about to hat back, when music played and Kevin Von Erich ambled slowly down to the ring. The babyfaces made their own save, and when Kevin got there, he gave Hager the claw. The crowd was into this and gave the Von Erichs a standing ovation and a big chant afterwards. 

Danhausen kept the hat. 

– Mark Briscoe was speaking about his record in the Continental Classic when Jay Lethal’s crew happened on the scene. Lethal sent the Jarretts and Dutt away, while Briscoe and Lethal reminisce about fighting in New Jersey 20 years ago. Nice promo to generate interest in a match that won’t mean much in the tournament standings. 

Kyle Fletcher & Powerhouse Hobbs (w/ Don Callis) vs. Hunter Grey & Paul Titan (0:44)

Spinebuster & World’s Most Dangerous Slam finished it the Callis family.

After the match, Don Callis called out the Golden Jets. (Remember, Chris Jericho was on commentary.) Fear of the Don Callis family sent Jericho and Kenny Omega into the tag division, but now the Don Callis Family is in the tag team division. Callis unveils “Don Callis Family Rules,” that any two members of the Don Callis family can come after the Golden Jets. I think I’ve heard these rules before.

– Ruby Soho and Saraya argued about Soho’s loss on Wednesday, and Soho suggested if its so easy, Saraya should go and beat Riho.

Anna Jay defeated Red Velvet (7:32 aired)

Anna Jay got her first AEW all the way back in 2020 over Red Velvet on AEW Dark.

After a long split-screen break and commercial, Jay had Velvet in a surfboard. Velvet countered a suplex attempt with one of her own, then hit a pair of clotheslines and a leg lariat. Jay ducked a corkscrew click, but Matt Menard came out and distracted Jay, almost costing her the match. Red Velvet collided with Menard, and Anna Jay locked Red Velvet in a sleeper for the submission. Nothing to this one.

Top Flight & Action Andretti defeated Penta El Zero Miedo, El Hijo Del Vikingo & Komander (w/ Alex Abrantes) (16:08) 

Darius Martin and Komader started for their teams. They wrestled to a stalemate, and the tags were made to Vikingo and Andretti. Andretti countered out of a hurricanrana by flipping and landing on his feet. The counters here were amazing. Andretti countered a backsuplex attempt with a sunset flip. How, I don’t know and I watched it.

Tags were made to Darius and Penta. Penta was the crowd favorite in front of the Texas crowd. Penta and Darius exchanged chops until Darius hit a dropkick. Darius ran into a superkick and a pair of slingblades. A double dropkick sent the rest of Darius’s team to the floor, and the Luchadors followed them out with a triple dive. 

There was a lot of action during the split-screen break.

After the break, Vikingo escaped a triple team, caught Andretti with an enziguri and got the hot tag. Penta hit a cazadora on Andretti and with the same motion hit Top Flight with a double DDT. Komander hit a springboard DDT on Andretti, but Darius hit Kommaner with a powerbomb into a knee strike. Vikingo hit Darius with a sloppy GTS. Darius hit like a pumphandle powerbomb on Vikingo. Penta hit a spinning fallaway slam on Darius. Komander countered a tijeras with a face-first powerbomb, and Darius flew in with a hard elbow on Komander.

Andretti hit a death valley driver on Penta on the apron. Komander took Andretti down with a set up rana, and Darius Martin caught Komander with a german suplex on the apron. Vikingo hit a Destroyer on Darius on the apron. Then Penta hit a Destroyer on Dante on the apron. And everyone is out on the floor.

Andretti and Penta got to their feet in the ring and exchanged chops. Soon, their teammates joined in and it was donnybrook. They all hit triple superkicks, triple clotheslines, triple boots, did a triple kip up and then triple booted each other down agin. Okay now that was seriously cool.

Top Fight went for a double clothesline and missed, but came back and hit stereo Spanish flies on Vikingo and Penta, sending them to the floor. Top Flight and Andretti tripled up on Komander, and Dante drove Komader down with sort-of a spinning full nelson slam… and got the pinfall!

This was an absolutely fantastic main event.

After the match, both teams shook hands and celebrated in the ring. 

Final Thoughts:

This show was feeling like kind of a waste until the main event. That match was insanity and well worth going out of your way to see. 

AEW Rampage live results: Bryan Danielson vs. Daniel Garcia

The Continental Classic continues on tonight’s AEW Rampage with a Bryan Danielson vs. Daniel Garcia bout. 

Wrestling two tournament bouts in 24 hours, Danielson will face Garcia on tonight’s episode prior to another Continental Classic match on Saturday’s Collision show.

Danielson is 1-0 in the Continental Classic Blue League, and has another bout on tomorrow’s Collision against Andrade El Idolo as well. Garcia is 0-2 in the tournament to this point. 

The International Championship will also be on the line on tonight’s episode, as Orange Cassidy defends his title against Angelico. 

In a women’s division contest, Trish Adora will take on Abadon. 

The Don Callis Family will be in tag team action on the show, with Konosuke Takeshita teaming with Powerhouse Hobbs against Christopher Daniels & Matt Sydal. 

An appearance by Hook has also been announced for tonight’s episode.

Orange Cassidy defeated Angelico (w/ Serpentico) to retain the AEW International Title (11:46)

Hook, Danhausen, and a mini-Danhausen accompanied Cassidy to the ring. An angle on last night’s ROH Honor Club where Angelico clipped Cassidy’s leg set up this match. Serpentico and Angelico are the “SAP” and honest to goodness, I thought I heard an “SAP!” chant.  But that was quickly shouted down by chants for Cassidy.

Cassidy has the most wins in a calendar year (this one) in AEW, which is something. Tremendous mat work from both guys to start. Cassidy countered out of a torture rack with a tijeras, which sent Angelico to the floor. Angelico went after Cassidy’s leg with a hard kick. It didn’t keep Cassidy from connecting on a rana, but he injured it again on a kip up. Cassidy fell to the floor selling his injured leg.

Back in the ring, Angelico worked on the leg, tying up Cassidy legs in a death lock and stretching Cassidy into a surfboard. Cassidy fought up, but Angelico countered into a desperate pin attempt for a near fall.

After a break, Cassidy countered a suplex with a Stundog Millionaire. Cassidy hit the Beach Break, but was too injured to make the cover. Cassidy tried to set up the Orange Punch, but Serpencio tripped Cassidy up, and Angelico hit a pump kick. Danhausen tripped up Angelico when he ran the ropes, dodged an attack from Serpentico, then cursed Angelico! Cassidy rolled up Angelico, but Angelico’s kick out sent Cassidy crashing into Danhausen.

Angelico tied up Cassidy’s legs in a submission, while Serpentico locked Danhausen in a chinlock on the floor. Cassidy got a ropebreak. There was some more nonsense on the floor with Serpentico and Danhausen, which ended with Danhausen low-blowing Serpentico. Cassidy caught Angelico with a rollup for another near fall, then finished off Angelico with the Orange Punch and got the pinfall.

Fun match that didn’t need the nonsense from Serpentico and Danhausen. 

Abadon defeated Trish Adora (3:29)

Abadon? But it isn’t Halloween!

Abandon laughed off a hard chop from Adora, who followed up with 20 more. Adora countered a surfboard attempt with a bite to the butt. Adora’s finisher is called the “Lariat Tubman” and that’s a fantastic name for a finisher. Abandon took Adora down with a stomp in the corner, then battered Adora with forearms. Adora came back with a jawbreaker and a pump kick. Abandon popped back up, ducked the Lariat Tubman, hit a series of knees and finished off Adora with the Black Dahlia.

After the match, the lights went out. When they came back on, TBS Champion Julia Hart appeared. Hart laid the title at Abadon’s feet. They picked up the belt, and the lights went out again. When the lights came back on, but Julia Hart and the title belt were gone.

Push Hart and Abadon to the pay-per-view and see what happens.

– A video package previewed the Mercedes Martinez/Willow Nightingale match for tomorrow night’s Collision. 

Konosuke Takeshita & Powerhouse Hobbs defeated Christopher Daniels & Matt Sydal (w/ Don Callis) (7:32 aired)

Callis joined the commentary team, who immediately begins positioning his team as the next roadblock for the Golden Jets.

Hobbs crushed Daniels with a bodyblock, then threw him across the ring with a slam. Daniels escaped a suplex attempt from Takeshita and tagged Sydal, who flew in with a springboard dropkick. Sydal escaped a tombstone from Takeshita, but it didn’t take long for Takeshita to assert his advantage and retake control.

After a break, Sydal countered a blue thunder bomb with a rana. Hobbs and Daniels got the tags, and Daniels hit Hobbs with a rana… and then got flattened with a lariat. Takeshita took out Sydal with a boot, and Hobbs hit Daniels with a spinebuster. World’s Most Dangerous (fka Mark Henry’s World’s Strongest Slam) got Hobbs the pinfall. 

– A replay of Dante Martin’s grizzly injury (and please, please stop replaying that. It’s awful.) led to Rene Paquette interviewing Top Flight and Action Andretti. Dante Martin accepted the challenge Penta made for a trios match. 

Bryan Danielson (2-0-0, 6pts) defeated Daniel Garcia (0-3-0, 0pts) in a Blue League Continental Classic match (15:27)

A more serious Garcia is back to basic trunks and black towel.  Garcia had a nice wrist lock on early, but Danielson escaped with a throw.

Danielson worked over Garcia’s legs with kicks. Garcia battled back with punches and stomped Danielson in the corner. Garcia hung Danielson in the ropes upside down, then dove into Danielson with a dropkick for a near fall. Danielson countered a suplex attempt with a German suplex.

After a split-screen break, Daneilson battered Garcia with kicks to the chest. Garcia battled back with chops, slaps and a backdrop suplex. Garcia went for a Gotch-style piledriver but Danielson countered that into a triangle choke. Danielson hit some elbows in the choke, then rolled on top of Garcia to pummel him with his fists. Garica managed to get a rope break, and referee Aubrey Edwards made Danielson release the hold.

Danielson went for the busaiku knee. but Garcia dropped to his stomach. Garcia was playing possum though, and surprised Danielson with a small package for two. Garcia caught Dnaielson in the sharpshooter, which he transitioned into a piledriver for two. This was a great sequence.

Garcia said, “He’s gonna get his head kicked in!” then proceeded to kick Danielson’s head in. The crowd did not like this turn of events. Garcia broke out the dance, and then ran right into the busaiku knee… for two. Daneilson then kicked Garcia’s head in. Garcia put up a fight, but after some forearms, Danielson locked in the LeBell Lock. Garcia tried to get to the ropes, so Danielson hit him with some more forearms, locked in the LeBell lock again, and Garcia passed out.

Great match.

Final Thoughts:

During the main event, it’s made official that next Friday on Honor Club, Jon Moxley, Claudio Castignolia and Bryan Danielson will take on FTR and Mark Briscoe at Final Battle. So, that’s awesome.

The main event is worth going out of your way to see. 

AEW Rampage live results: Danhausen’s in-ring return

Danhausen will return to the ring for the first time since March on tonight’s AEW Rampage. 

After being out of action since suffering a pectoral injury at Revolution on March 5, Danhausen will team with Orange Cassidy, Hook, and Trent Beretta on Rampage against Evil Uno, Alex Reynolds, Matt Menard, and Angelo Parker in an eight-man tag. 

Three trios matches are also set for tonight’s show. 

In one trios bout, Konosuke Takeshita, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Kyle Fletcher of The Don Callis Family will be in action tonight. 

In a women’s division trios contest, Saraya, Ruby Soho, and Anna Jay will team against Kris Statlander, Hikaru Shida, and Skye Blue. 

Penta El Zero Miedo, El Hijo del Vikingo, and Komander will face Brian Cage, and JD Drake & Anthony Henry of The WorkHorsemen in the other six-man tag set for the show.

A promo segment with Sting & Ric Flair has also been advertised for tonight’s episode.

Orange Cassidy, Hook, Danhausen & Trent Beretta defeated Evil Uno & Alex Reynolds, Matt Menard Angelo Parker (w/ Jake Hager) (10:07)

Hager distracted the babyface team before the bell, which allowed the heels to take advantage. But that didn’t last long. Danhausen hit a step up rana on Uno and a release northern lights suplex on Reynolds. Then all eight men started brawling in the rings. Hook’s hesitation on the group hug almost led to a quadruple suplex from the heels, but all the babyfaces reversed it. The babyfaces got their group hug in. “Think Hook ever hugged his dad?” – Tony.

Menard hit Beretta with a powerbomb, Cassidy caught Menard with a DDT, and Hook hit T-bone suplexes on all the heels. After that display, Ring of Honor Pure Champion Wheeler Yuta entered the arena to distract Hook (and join the commentary team), which allowed Menard to get the advantage on Hook with a vertical suplex.

Yuta got on commentary and trashed his former mentors Cassidy and Beretta. The heels pounded on Hook in the corner.

After a split-screen break, Hook suplexed Parker and hit Menard with a clothesline. Uno and Beretta got the tags, and Beretta dropped Uno and hit a series of german suplexes on Reynolds. Beretta hit a half-and-half suplex on Uno, then yanked Reynolds off the middle turnbuckle into a backdrop suplex.

Cassdiy got the tag and took out both the Dark Order members with a dropkick, then hit Uno with Slumdog Millionaire. Uno came back with Something Evil, but Beretta broke up the pin attempt. Reynolds worked Cassidy up to the top rope for a superplex, but Beretta popped up and yanked Reynolds down from the top with a german superplex.

Danhausen and Menard got the tag, and Danhausen pulled out Hager’s hat! This lured Hager into the ring, who was instantly dumped. Parker got the hat from Danhausen, but Hook snuck up behind Parker to lock in the Redrum. Danhausen rolled up Menard, and got the pinfall. 

And, Danhausen got the hat back! 

– Rene Paquette interviewed the women in tonight’s trios match. Saraya is thrilled to be teaming with Anna Jay tonight, and still annoyed with her other partner, Ruby Soho. Parker runs in to let the women know he’ll be in their corner later, but Anna Jay wants nothing to do with him.

– Tony Schiavone brings Sting and Ric Flair to the ring for an interview. Tony said they wrestled in the first main event on TNT from Minnesota, (false, that was Hulk Hogan v. Big Bubba) and also wrestled in the last wrestling match on the network in 2001 until the foundation of AEW (that is true). Flair’s suit is something else. Schiavone announced that tickets will go on sale for Revolution in Greensboro in two weeks. Sting talked about teaming with Lex Luger and wrestling Bam Bam Bigelow in Minneapolis, while carefully avoiding running afoul of copyright laws by saying what shows they were on. Sting also cleaned up Schiavone’s earlier remark by saying he and Flair were on “the first and last shows on TNT.” 

Then, Flair gets the mic. “From 1972 until today, and believe it or not, I’m still alive.” Flair counts Dusty Rhodes, Ricky Steamboat, and Sting as the four people who are special in his life (he missed one, probably one who works for the rival company). Flair promised they’d “dance all night and dance a little longer, stay out all night and stay out a little longer.” And that… was it. Thank god for taped shows and editing, I guess.  

Powerhouse Hobbs, Konosuke Takeshita & Kyle Fletcher defeated Three Enhancement Talents (0:57)

They replayed Hobbs slamming Paul Wight on the car hood a few weeks ago. Keep doing that to get him over as a monster.

The heels wiped out the enhancement talents, with Hobbs getting the legal pinfall.

– After the match, Callis took the mic and promised to continue dominating AEW until Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho have nowhere to have.

– Earlier tonight, Prince Nana hired JD Drake and Anthony Henry to team with Brian Cage tonight. Nana paid them off “to do the job tonight.” I love shoot comments that aren’t meant to be shoot comments. 

Kris Statlander, Hikaru Shida & Skye Blue defeated Saraya, Ruby Soho & Anna Jay

Anna Jay turned on Ruby Soho, and now Saraya is forcing them to team up because she hates that Soho is dating Jeff Parker. And Statlander and Blue don’t like each other because they each feel the other cost them the TBS championship at Full Gear. 

 Blue and Statlander kept blind-tagging themselves in, until Shida got sick of that and blind-tagged herself in. She dropped Saraya out of a torture rack and then suplexed Soho on top of Saraya for a near fall.

After a break, Jay saved Saraya from a pin from Statlander. Jay and Saraya are functioning much better as a team, with Soho as the odd woman out. Statlander escaped a Queenslayer, and Shida caught Saraya with a jumping knee. Jay hit Statlander with a flatliner, but Statlander pulled Jay into a superkick from Soho. Statlander then set up Soho for the Code Blue from Skye Blue, who got the pinfall. The heels argued their way to the back while the faces celebrated in the ring.

– A recap of the Round 2 of the Continental Classic from Dynamite, with a preview of the Blue League matches tomorrow. 

Penta El Zero Miedo, El Hijo del Vikingo & Komander (w/ Alex Abrahantes) defeated JD Drake, Anthony Henry, & Brian Cage (11:13)

If they’re really serious about pushing the Workhorsemen (Henry and Drake) they could have Flair endorse them or something.

During this match, it was announced that Tony Storm will face Skye Blue for the AEW World Women’s title on Dynamite Wednesday.

Vikingo took out Henry with an implosion rana out of the corner. Drake got the tag and opened himself up for some chops from Vikingo. Vikingo came back with a chop and belly to belly suplex. Vikingo came back with a tijeras. Komader hit a springboard dropkick on Cage. The Luchadors went for a triple dive on the floor, but Vikingo got caught in the ropes somehow (it was barely on camera) and Drake caught him against the apron.

The heels worked over Komander in the corner during the split-screen break. Drake hit a nice-looking slingshot senton into the ring. Drake missed a Vader bomb on Komander, who tagged Vikingo. Vikingo came in with a springboard dropkick, but Henry caught him with a pair of neck twists. Cage got the tag and gave Vikingo an overhead fallaway slam.

Penta got the hot tag tag and caught Cage with a slingblade. Penta hit a sloppy double-ddt on the Workhorsemen. Komander came off the top with a missile dropkcik on Drake, and Penta lauched Henry into a dropkick from Vikingo.

Komander hit Cage with a lung blower, held him for a stomp from Vikingo, and then let him go for Penta to hit a top rope stomp for a near fall. Komader tried a springboard into the ring on Cage, who took him out with a shoulder block. Cage monkeyflipped Komader into a powerbomb from Drake.

Vikingo caught Cage with a springboard DDT, but Henry hit a stuff piledriver. Penta took out Henry with the Made in Japan.

After a miscommunication, Cage floored Henry with a clothesline. Cage left the match, and Penta hit the Fear Factor on Henry. Komander hit a shooting star press, and then Vikingo hit a 630 senton to get the pinfall on Henry. 

There were some sloppy spots, but this was okay. 

Final Thoughts: 

Also announced for Dynamite during the main event were the following Gold Leauge matches: Jon Moxley v. Rush, Swerve Strickland v. Mark Briscoe, and Jay White v. Jay Lethal. 

AEW Rampage live results: ROH Pure Championship match

A Ring of Honor Pure Championship match headlines tonight’s live AEW Rampage episode. 

Pure Champion Katsuyori Shibata will defend against former title holder Wheeler Yuta in a rematch from Supercard of Honor in March of this year. 

Shibata defeated Yuta to win the Pure title at Supercard of Honor on March 31, kicking off his title reign. Yuta never received a rematch, but has since scored one tag team victory over Shibata in a Yuta & Claudio Castagnoli vs. Shibata & Eddie Kingston bout at the All Out pay-per-view on September 3. 

Yuta defeated Daniel Garcia for the Pure title at last December’s Final Battle pay-per-view and defended the title four times before dropping it to Shibata. 

Shibata has made seven successful title defenses, with his most recent coming against Trent Beretta in a match that aired on this week’s Ring of Honor TV episode. 

Rampage tonight kicks off a three-hour block of AEW programming from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, as Collision airs in its regular time slot immediately following Rampage.

Tony Schiavone, Kevin Kelly, & Nigel McGuinness were on the call this week as FTW Champion Hook made his entrance.

Hook defeated Rocky Romero

According to Cagematch, Hook has only had 43 matches in his career. Getting reps like this will be essential for his growth as a wrestler. You could see him and Romero working through the match as it was happening, but things like that will go away as Hook becomes more comfortable in-ring. Meanwhile, it’s always good to see Rocky Romero.

This match was announced on social media after Romero made a challenge for AEW to give him their youngest and brightest stars. After an opening exchange, Romero chopped Hook to escape a series of arm wringers. The men traded chops until Hook hit an El Camero suplex. They crossed each other until Hook dropped Romero with a lariat. Hook hit a German suplex that sent Romero rolling to the apron.

Hook went for a suplex on the apron, but Romero hit a rising knee before landing a suplex of his own on the apron. Romero hit a double stomp to Hook on the floor as we went to commercial. Romero hit the Forever Clotheslines as we came back from the break, but Hook caught Romero and threw him into the corner with an Exploder suplex.

Hook fired up until Romero sent Hook onto the apron, where Romero hit a springboard dropkick for a nearfall. Romero hit a running Sliced Bread for a nearfall as the crowd chanted for Hook. Hook hit an STO to take Romero down. Romero recovered and went for a traditional Sliced Bread, but Hook countered it into the Redrum to score the win.

We got a video package for the Katsuyori Shibata vs. Wheeler Yuta Rampage main event tonight.

Kris Statlander defeated Diamante

After an opening exchange, Diamante took down Statlander with a headscissors. Statlander countered a corner charge into a powerslam for a nearfall. Mercedes Martinez, Diamante’s tag team partner, made her way to the stage. Statlander hit a running knee into the corner as Martinez came closer to the ring.

Diamante hit a charging Statlander with an overhead suplex as we came back from a break. Diamante hit a facebuster for a nearfall. Statlander pulled Diamante into position for Saturday Night Fever, but Diamante rolled it into a flash pin for a nearfall. After a pinning predicament, Diamante hit an Asai DDT for a nearfall. Statlander hit a charging Diamante with a rolling lariat for the win, but she was jumped after the bell by Martinez. Willow Nightingale made the save for Statlander.

Daniel Garcia spoke earlier in the night to AEW cameras. He was happy to drive into the show tonight, a drive he made multiple times during his time on the independent scene. He admitted his confidence was low after several high-profile losses, but he was ready to prove that he wasn’t a loser.

The Kingdom defeated Duke Davis & Danny Jones

Mike Bennett spoke on their entrance about Roderick Strong getting hurt by Action Andretti last week on Rampage, but his being Neck Strong kept him from being more hurt. Taven talked trash on MJF before saying that they wanted their ROH Tag Team Titles back. This was a quick match, as Bennett took out Davis on the ramp with a piledriver. In the ring, Taven hit the Climax before hitting the Aurora Borealis frog splash for the win.

ROH Pure Title Match – Wheeler Yuta defeated Katsuyori Shibata to win the title

A solid match, on the better end of Shibata’s output after his return. It’s interesting that they chose this time to change the title with Final Battle coming up soon, but the Hook/Yuta issue has been simmering for a while now. Yuta as a sneering bully is a good direction for him, and the Hook match will get some interest for, I assume, Final Battle.

The judges for this match were Christopher Daniels, Jimmy Jacobs, and Jerry Lynn.

After the opening exchanges, Shibata held onto the ropes on an Irish whip and caught Yuta in a bow-and-arrow hold. He held onto Yuta’s legs and locked on a deathlock before returning to the bow-and-arrow. Yuta flipped into a pin cover to escape, but Shibata transitioned into a kneebar to force Yuta to the ropes for his first rope break. Yuta punched Shibata in the face, earning a warning from the referee.

Yuta chopped Shibata going into and coming out of the break, but Shibata fired up and rocked Yuta with elbows and chops. Shibata drove Yuta down in the corner with chops before hitting a hesitation dropkick. Shibata hit a half-hatch suplex for a nearfall. Shibata caught Yuta in an ankle lock, before transitioning into an STF, reminiscent of Masahiro Chono. Yuta used his second rope break to escape.

Shibata locked on the sleeper hold, but Yuta forced Shibata to the floor and hit a dive to the floor. Yuta sent Shibata into the barricade, but Shibata fired out and booted Yuta against the guardrail. Yuta avoided the Penalty Kick and rolled Shibata up for a nearfall. Yuta rolled up Shibata and put his feet on the ropes for a nearfall. Yuta shoved Shibata into the referee before hitting Shibata with a low blow. Yuta dropped Shibata with a DDT before locking on the Seatbelt pin to score the win and the title.

After the match, Yuta mockingly offered his hand for the Code of Honor, but kicked Shibata low again and dropped him with a DDT. Hook made his way to the ring to run off Yuta.

AEW Rampage live results: Toni Storm vs. Emi Sakura

Tonight’s AEW Rampage airs live from the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, following a live edition of Collision — the final stop before Saturday’s Full Gear in the same venue.

“Timeless” Toni Storm, the number one contender to the AEW Women’s World Championship, will be in action against Emi Sakura. Storm asked for a tune-up match ahead of her challenge for current champion Hikaru Shida at Full Gear. Tonight will be the third time Storm has squared off with Sakura in AEW (2-0 Storm).

AEW World Champion and ROH Tag Team Champion MJF will have a sit-down interview with Renee Paquette. He and a mystery partner will defend the tag titles on Saturday’s Zero Hour pre-show in addition to MJF defending the World title against Jay White.

Paquette will also conduct a sit-down interview with White who left MJF laying in the final segment of Wednesday’s Dynamite in addition to carrying around MJF’s AEW World title belt.

Christian Cage (w/ Luchasaurus & Nick Wayne defeated Trent Beretta to retain the TNT Championship (10:17)

Beretta won a #1 contender’s match earlier in the night on Collision to get this title match.

After two minutes of stalling and posturing, Beretta got things going when he floored Cage with a meteora, then caught Cage on the floor with a plancha. Back in the ring, Cage send Beretta shoulder-first into the ringpost to take control. .

After a split-screen break, Christian wore down Beretta with a chinlock. Beretta caught Cage with a spear through the middle ropes. Beretta dropped Christian with an half-and-half. Christian countered the spinning DDT, and Beretta blocked Christian when he tried for his own spinning DDT. Beretta got a near fall after a top rope rana.

Christian dodged a top rope crossbody from Beretta. Christian went for a spear, but Beretta caught him with a knee and the spinning DDT for a near fall. Beretta hit another high knee for a near fall. Christian went for a Killswitch, but Beretta countered with a Strong Zero for a close near fall.

Luchasaurus distracted Beretta, which allowed Christian to snap Beretta’s neck against the top rope. Christian stomped on Beretta’s injured neck, sent him headfirst in the middle turnbuckle, and hit the Killswitch to get the pinfall. 

This was fine. 

– Chris Jericho cut a promo on the Young Bucks. He kept saying the Bucks are mad because he “stole their friend Kenny,” even though a few weeks ago on Dynamite the Bucks made it clear they were still mad at Jericho for attacking their dad. Nonetheless, Jericho is gonna beat the Bucks tomorrow night and take their title shot.

“Timeless” Toni Storm (w/ Luther) v. Emi Sakura (8:17)

Storm tried to give Sakura the “script” for the match, which she tore in half. Well, scripts have never worked in wrestling, anyway. Storm and Sakura brawled to the floor. Storm suplexed Sakura on the floor. Sakura came back with a spear through the ropes, then a cannonball on the floor.

Sakura and Storm exchanged chops, with Storm getting the advantage. Storm hit a bulldog, then wound up and delivered a big right hand. The crowd came alive for Storm. She went for the hip attack, but Sakura caught Storm with a tiger driver for a near fall. A double underhook into a back breaker also got Sakura a near fall. Storm dodged a moonsault from Sakura, hit a DDT, and then hit the hip attack in the corner (complete with black and white treatment). After a stuff piledriver, Storm got the victory.

It would be a mistake not to put the belt on Storm tomorrow night.

– Rene Paquette is in the back with Eddie Kingston and Jay Lethal’s crew. Lethal announced that he’s getting his Ring of Honor World title match at Zero Hour tomorrow night. Kingston called Lethal a coward, and Karen Jarrett led Lethal crew away before things got violent. As Kingston turned to leave, Ortiz met up with him, and the faded out before they could say anything. It’s way too early to take the ROH title off Kingston.  

Roderick Strong (w/ Matt Taven & Mike Bennett) defeated Action Andretti (9:35)

Stong’s entrance is just perfect.

Lots of hard chops form Strong, and a solid side backbreaker. Andretti caught Strong with a spinning neckbreaker for two. On the floor, Bennett and Taven freaked out after the neckbreaker. Strong tried a sunset flip, but Andretti countered that and deadlift Strong into a falcon arrow for a near fall. The fight went to the floor, where Taven and Bennett distracted Andretti, which allowed Strong to hit Andretti with a dropkick.

After a break, Andretti hit a jawbreaker and a back elbow, then pitched Strong to the floor. Andretti took out the Kingdom with a dropkick, then caught Strong with an Arabian Press. Back in the ring, Andretti went for a Spanish Fly and Strong landed right on his head. The match immediateky stopped and the referee checked on Strong. The commentators realized something had gone wrong and started talking about the dangers of the match. The camera panned to a wide shot while the doctors checked on Strong. 

Strong was able to continue the match, and after another minute of action, Strong hit his finisher for the pinfall.

They replayed the scary spot of Strong landing straight on his head. I can’t believe Strong was moving, let alone finished the match. 

– Rene Paquette had a sit down interview with Jay White. White predicted that MJF won’t even make it to the main event when the Gunns dismantle him in Zero Hour. White will show the gap between he and MJF was wide, and he prove it Saturday. MJF ran in and attacked White. They fought into a hallway, where Juice Robinson jumped MJF from behind. Juice and MJF brawled into a room and Juice slammed the door.

When White got into the room, MJF stood over Robinson with a broken LCD TV in his hands. Juice was bleeding and covered in glass. MJF chased White, and they made it into the arena and eventually the ring. The Gunns followed, but MJF quickly disposed of them. MJF laid out White, and MJF finally got the belt back… until the Gunns recovered and jumped MJF from behind. After a struggle, White got the belt back. The Gunns held MJF open for a belt shot, but Samoa Joe ran in and chased off Bullet Club. Joe extended his hand to MJF, and after thinking it over, MJF shook it. Thus, Max accepted Joe’s help for Zero Hour, and will give him an AEW World title shot.

– The commentators ran down the card for Full Gear to end the show.  MJF and Bullet Club Gold exchanged trash talk to end the show.

Final Thoughts:  

Full Gear looks stacked. Hopefully Roderick Strong is okay after that scary bump he took in his match. The show-closing angle was a great hard sell for the ppv. 

AEW Rampage live results: FTR vs. El Hijo del Vikingo & Komander

AEW Rampage airs live tonight from Oakland, California with a tag team match set to headline. 

FTR’s Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler will face AAA Mega Champion El Hijo del Vikingo & AAA Cruiserweight Champion Komander in tag team action on tonight’s episode. 

Komander & Vikingo wrestled on last week’s Rampage in a Lucha del Dia de los Muertos triple threat match won by Penta El Zero Miedo. 

Harwood & Wheeler are coming off a victory in an eight-man tag match on last week’s Collision where they teamed with Preston Vance & Rush of La Faccion Ingobernable against the AEW World Tag Team Champions Big Bill & Ricky Starks, and Mogul Embassy’s Gates of Agony Toa Liona & Bishop Kaun. 

FTR is aiming to get back into the Tag Team title picture after dropping the belts to Starks & Big Bill on the October 7 Collision episode and ending their second reign as AEW Tag Team Champions.

Rampage is live for the first time in forever from Oakland, California, with Tony Schiavone and Nigel McGuinness on commentary.

Ricky Starks (w/ Big Bill) defeated Preston Vance (w/ Jose the Assistant) (7:13)

Big Bill joined the commentary team. Vance battered Starks in the corner to start. Starks made a brief comeback, but Vance knocked him for a loop with a pump kick. The fight went to the floor, where Vance whipped Starks into the ring barricades. Starks sent Vance into the ringpost head first, then stopped to do commentary on his own match. The fight continued on the floor, with Starks suplexing Vance on the entrance ramp.

Starks continued his dominance through the break, and got a near fall after a legdrop on the ring apron. Vance hit a back elbow, a shoulder block off the middle rope and a series of clotheslines. Vance hit his spinebuster (which is his second best move) to no reaction. Starks reversed a discus lariat into a spinning DDT for a near fall. Vance hit a sit-out death valley driver for another near fall. Vance was getting better reactions during the empty-arena Dark tapings in 2021. 

Vance went for a full nelson, but Starks dropped out and into a cradle for two. Vance hit another sit-out death valley driver. Vance was setting up another attempt at the discus lariat, but Bill left commentary and nailed Vance from behind. Starks hit Vance with a spear for a pinfall.

After the match, the tag chaps took some cheap shots on Vance, but Rush and Drulistico came out to make the save. 

– Chris Jericho cut a promo with Rene Paquette for his match on Sunday in DDT with Takeshita. After the promo, Schiavone said the match was taking place in the Tokyo Dome, but that can’t be right.

– Lexy Nair wasin the back with Don Callis and Prince Nana, who looked to be negotiating. Callis announced that Brian Cage will be the fourth man in the “Like a Dragon” Street Fight on Wednesday (replacing the presumed to be particiaping Sammy Guevara, who is still out with an injury). 

– Lexi Nair interviewed Jeff Jarrett’s crew in the locker room as the parade of interviews continued. Jay Lethal’s promo was interrupted by Ortiz. Lethal and Karen Jarrett warned Ortiz to walk away before he got “jumped,” but Ortiz started swinging anyway and wound up chokeslammed on a production crate. 

Red Velvet defeated Ruby Soho (9:04)

Saraya briefly came out with Soho, but went to the back and left Soho to fight alone. Velvet caught Soho with a leg lariat, then worked her over with jabs in the corner. Velvet went for a casadora, but Soho sent her into the ropes, knocking the wind out of Red Velvet. 

After a long commercial, Velvet made her comeback. She hit the casadora and a standing moonsault for a near fall. Soho hit pair of backdrop suplexes. Soho sent Velvet headfirst into the middle turnbuckle. Then a production assistant delivered flowers to Soho in the middle of the match. “Apparently she’s got a secret admirer.” Apparently Schivone isn’t watching the TV shows either if he doesn’t’ know who Soho’s admirer is. Velvet got a cradle off the distraction from the flowers, then hit a spinning kick to get the upset victory.

During this match, Willow Nightingale vs. Julia Hart was announced for Collision. 

“No neck November is in full effect, baby!” Roderick Strong dedicated the next match to his best friend, Adam Cole. 

The Kingdom (Mike Bennett & Matt Taven) defeated Danny Rose & Ricky Gee (0:48)

Bennett and Taven finished off Rose with the “neck check” which is a jumping neckbreaker out of a power bomb. After the match, Strong sprung from his wheelchair to hit Rose with a backstabber and immediately jumped back into his wheelchair.

– Danny Garcia –with Matt Menard and Angelo Parker– challenged Andrade El Idolo for Collision. Saraya and Ruby Soho interrupted the interview to confront Parker about the mid-match flower delivery. Well, Saraya was more confrontational than Soho, who seemed enamored with the flowers and Parker. Saraya and Menard sent the love birds away in opposite directions, then agreed they “had a problem.” What do they have against love? 

Garcia v. Andrade was made official for Collision later in the show. 

– In the back, Darius Martin & Action Andretti confronted Roderick Strong & the Kingdom.  Strong decided that “DARIUS!” would be his first victim. 

FTR defeated Komander & El Hijo Del Vikingo (w/ Alex Abrahantes) (11:42)

Dax Harwood and Komander started the match, and after a brief feeling out period they were off to the races. Komader got a one cout after a dropkick. Komader tagged in Vikingo, and the crowd was solidly behind Vikingo. Vikingo caught Cash Wheeler with a hook kick and an enziguri, then hit a springboard inverted rana. Vikingo went for a high speed plancha, but Wheeler moved and he went headfirst right into the commentary table. The show almost instantly went to a split screen break.

The ring doctor checked on Vikingo during the break, but soon the match was back in the ring. Vikingo did a few spots during the split screen break, and eventually got the tag to Komander. Vikingo and Komander hit a pair of crazy dives coming out of the break.

Harwood rolled through on a top rope crossbody for a near fall. Vikingo hit a top rope dropkick on Harwood, who fell into a cradle from Komader for another near fall. Harwood crotched VIkingo on the top rope. FTR went for the Powerplex, but the Luchadors countered (Komader caught Wheeler with a rana on the top rope, while Vikingo shifted his weight when Harwood went for the superplex into a crossbody). Komader and VIkingo then hit stereo 450s on FTR for another near fall.

Komader did a handspring into a Gory special from Wheeler. Vikingo almost broke his neck again on a Lionsault, but Harwood caught him and hit a tombstone for a near fall. Vikingo countered the slingshot powerbomb into a sunset flip for a near fall, then countered a second attempt at the slingshot powerbomb into a rana and cradle for a near fall.

Harwood hit the slingshot powerbomb on Vikingo on the third try, but Komader had gotten the tag. He cradled Harwood for a near fall. Komander ducked a charg from Harwood, who hit the turnbuckle headfirst. Komader walked the ropes for a shooting star press, but Harwood got out of the way. Komader landed on his feet, but FTR caught him with the Big Rig/Shatter Machine. Wheeler got the pinfall on Komander. 

Both teams showed each other respect after the match. This match was absolutely insane. Even though the outcome was never in doubt. it was still the best thing on the show by a country mile. 

Just as Schiavone was closing the show, the lights went out, and The House of Black appeared on screen to applaud FTR. 

Final Thoughts: 

I’m going to be shocked if Vikingo doesn’t wind up out for a bit with a concussion. This show was all about setting up Collision, but check out that main event if you can. 

AEW Rampage live results: Penta El Zero Miedo vs. El Hijo del Vikingo vs. Komander

A triple threat Lucha del Dia de los Muertos match is the featured bout on tonight’s AEW Rampage as Penta El Zero Miedo will face AAA Mega Champion El Hijo del Vikingo and AAA Cruiserweight Champion Komander in a non-title match.

The number one contenders for the ROH Tag Team titles will be in action as Austin Gunn & Colten Gunn of Bullet Club Gold face former ROH Tag Team Champions Christopher Daniels & Matt Sydal. 

Skye Blue will take on Marina Shafir. Blue is coming off a loss in a four-way AEW Women’s World title number one contender’s match on last week’s Rampage while Shafir is looking for her first AEW singles win since March. Blue re-aligned with Willow Nightingale on Wednesday’s Dynamite after blowing blue mist in Julia Hart’s face.

Daniel Garcia will face Trent Beretta of Best Friends. This is Garcia’s first singles match in AEW since a June house show and first televised singles match since a May loss to Roderick Strong.

Penta El Zero Miedo defeated. El Hijo Del Vikingo & Komander in a Lucha del Dia de los Muertos match (12:35)

Penta hit a Made in Japan on Kommader about 15 seconds into the match. Kommander hit a dive on Penta to the floor, and Vikingo followed him out with his own dive. On the floor, Vikingo hit a rana off the guardrail on Kommander, and Penta hit them both with a pair of sling blades. Vikingo hit a Phoenix Splash in the ring on Kommander for a near fall. This was all the first two minutes of the match (and I probably missed a half-dozen moves). 

Penta took both his opponents out with a tope con hilo. In the back, AAA Latin American Champion QT Marshall and the rest of the QTV crew watched Penta dominate the match in the ring. Penta hit Kommader with an open hand chop, then worked over Vikingo in the corner.

After the split-screen break, Penta hit Vikingo with a gamingiri in the corner. Vikingo came back and tried to come off the top with a dropkick on Penta, but Kommander caught him with a sitout powerbomb. Komannder came off the top with a shooting star press, but Penta caught him with a lung blower. Vikingo then dove off the top with a Canadian destroyer on Penta.

On the ring apron, Kommander went to the top, but Vikingo shoved him too the floor. Vikingo went to the top. Penta caught him in an electric chair position, but Vikingo reversed that into a poisioned rana. Vikingo dove into a thrust kick from Penta, and Penta caught both his opponents at once with a package pildriver and a Gory Special. Again, all of this happened on the ring apron. 

Back in the ring with Vikingo and Penta exchanging forearms. Penta hit a twisting powerbomb out of a fireman’s carry for a near fall. Vikingo caught the much larger Penta off a dive into a spinning uranage for two. Vikingo hit the 630 senton on Penta for a near fall, broken up by Kommander. Kommander hit Vikingo with a gut buster out of a torture rack. Kommander then came off the top with a Implosion Phoenix Splash for a near fall broken up by Penta. Penta then dropped Kommander with a Fear Factor onto Vikingo, and got the pinfall.

Go watch this. 

– Alex Marvez interviewed Jeff Jarrett’s crew about the potential recruitment of Ortiz to the group, but Karen Jarrett doesn’t think they need anyone else. Jeff Jarrett is sure that Jay Lethal will be the next Ring of Honor Champion. After they left, Ortiz enters the scene and promised to take care of them next week.

The Gunns Club (w/ Jay White & Juice Robinson) defeated Christopher Daniels & Matt Sydal (4:28)

Austin Gunn pulled Cardblade from underneath the ring, who has an AEW Championship Belt taped on his hand. Daniels was double-teamed for most of the match, but avoided the 310 to Yuma and caught Austin with a german suplex. Sydal got the tag and hit a meteora for a near fall. Austin dumped Daniels to the floor, and the Gunns hit the 3:10 to Yuma on Sydal to get the pinfall. This was 2 minutes too long. 

– RJ City announced the return of Danhausen, who announced his return will actually be next week. 

– Alex Marvez interviewed Saraya and Ruby Soho. Saraya condesendingly called Soho “baby girl” and talked down to her.  Jeff Parker showed up to comb Soho’s hair, and Matt Menard yelled at Parker for costing them the match on Wednesday.

Skye Blue defeated Marina Shafir (w/ Nyla Rose) (7:11)

The fight went to the floor early, and Shaifr missed a kick and hit the ring apron. Blue still wrestled more like a heel or a tweener, trying to stomp on Shafir’s bare feet and DDTing her on the ring apron.

Back in the ring, Shafir swept Bule’s leg and worked her over with kicks. Blue hit a shotgun dropkick, and followed up with a sliding enziguri. Shafir tried for the submission with a guillotine, but Blue countered by biting Shafir’s stomach. Blue rolled up Shafir for a near fall, then hit a pair of thrust kicks. Blue hit the Code Blue to get the pinfall. This was a pretty fun, competitive match after the break. 

– Preview of the Darby Allin and Lance Archer match for Collision tomorrow night. 

Daniel Garcia defeated Trent Beretta (13:20)

Beretta was out there alone because all his friends are either injured (Chuck), beat up (Orange) or banned from the building Hook). At the onset of the match, Excalibur ran down the card for Collision. With no new matches added it looks like someone forgot to book a main event for that show.

Garcia resisted the urge to dance early on, and paid for it with a clothesline. The fight went to the floor, and Beretta dropped Garcia with a brainbuster.

During the split-screen break, Beretta dominated the match. It looked like Garcia nearly lost by countout. It seems like Garcia is distracted by his lack of dance.

After the break, Beretta delivered a top rope superplex that left both guys in bad shape for a minute, but Beretta still got a near fall. Beretta hit a pair of short-arm lariats, but Garica countered a third with a back suplex. Garcia hit a knee strike in the corner and a brainbuster for a near fall. It seems like Garcia is resisting the urge to dance, but he should dance if he wants to. 

Beretta came back with a half and half suplex and a death valley driver for a near fall. Betta hit a series of German suplexes, but Garcia dropped down and countered with a series of suplexes of his own. Garcia hit a boot, Beretta came back with a high knee, and both guys exchanged clotheslines and forearms. Garcia caught Beretta with another German suplex. Beretta came back with a running knee and a piledriver for a near fall.

Garcia countered a spinning DDT attempt, slapped Beretta and then he did the dance. Garcia stuffed Beretta with a piledriver, then slapped on the crossface and got Beretta to tap out.

After the match, Garcia said that was his first singles match in six months in AEW, then called out MJF and demanded a title shot. Why not? There’s only a dozen guys challenging MJF. Garcia still fancies himself a sports entertainer. 

Final Thoughts: 

Surprisingly solid show. The opener is must-watch, and the main event was very good. 

AEW Rampage live results: Mike Santana vs. Ortiz

A clash of former tag team partners headlines this week’s AEW Rampage. 

Mike Santana will face Ortiz as the former Proud & Powerful duo settle their differences in the ring. 

In a battle of a current Don Callis disciple and a potential future addition to the Callis Family, Konosuke Takeshita will take on Aussie Open’s Kyle Fletcher. 

A four-way to determine who will challenge Hikaru Shida for the AEW Women’s World Champion on Saturday’s Collision episode will be held, as Skye Blue, Willow Nightingale, Anna Jay, and Abadon will compete. The match is the first match on AEW programming for Abadon since an episode of Dark that aired last December. 

Before they square off for the title on this Saturday’s Collision, AEW World Champion MJF and his challenger Kenny Omega will speak on their upcoming confrontation on tonight’s show. 

Rampage airs beginning at 10 p.m. Eastern time on TNT.

Mike Santana defeated Ortiz in a No Disqualification Match (10:34)

It didn’t take long for the fight to go to the floor, and Ortiz worked over Santana’s surgically repaired knee with a kendo stick. Ortiz pulled all kinds of plunder out from underneath the ring. Santana suplexed Ortiz back into the ring. Ortiz rolled out of the ring, and Santana followed him with a perfect Asai Moonsault. Ortiz countered a powerbomb attempt with a backdrop, then powerbombed Santana through a table. Back in the ring, Ortiz got a near fall. Santana countered a suplex on the apron with a suplex of his own, sending both guys crashing to a stack of chairs on the floor with a sick thud.

After a split-screen break, both men exchange German suplexes and clotheslines. Both men are down while the crowd chants “This is awesome!” And it is pretty awesome. Both guys exchange enziguris before Santana hit a rolling cutter for another near fall. Santana went for a discus lariat, but Ortiz caught him with a spinning powerslam for a near fall. Ortiz hit a brainbuster for another near fall.

Santana and Ortiz exchanged open-handed strikes. Ortiz tried for a cutter off the ropes (like a Tower of London), but Sanata escaped. After exchanging cradles, Santana hit the discus lariat, then a cannonball in the corner. Santana finished off Ortiz with a sit-out powerbomb out of a torture rack. This was an excellent match. They told the perfect story of two tag partners who knew each other well, and Ortiz put over Santana like a million bucks. 

After the match, Santana tried to offer a fistbump to Ortiz, but he refused. Santana left. Sonjay Dutt came out to try and recruit Ortiz to his group. 

– An absolutely tremendous video package put over the Kenny Omega v. MJF match. Footage from New Japan and the various independent promotions MJF competed for before AEW complemented the commentary from the usual talking heads (as well as the competitors).

At the end of the package, Jay White interrupted Omega to wish him luck, and challenge Omega for Full Gear should Omega win. Don Callis then interrupted MJF to offer him a spot in the Don Callis Family. MJF declined, and advised Callis to get his forehead checked out. 

– Renee Paquette interviewed Skye Blue, Willow Nightingale and Kris Statlander, at Kris’s request. Statlander wants to know what is up with the other two after they got misted by Julia Hart. Blue doesn’t think there’s anything wrong with her, but Willow and Kris think otherwise.

– Kip Sabian was in the ring with Penelope Ford to make fun of Philadelphia sports. “There’s no better time to be a Phillies fan!” Penelope reminded Ford that the Phillies lost. But that’s okay, they’ll win the Super Bowl next time! All the Philly trash talk brought out Mark Briscoe, “a man with as many teeth as the Eagles have Super Bowl rings!” Briscoe dumped Sabian from the ring to the delight of the crowd. 

– Renee interviewed the former JAS in the back. Don Callis hit up Matt Menard and Angelo Parker to team up against Jericho and Omega, but tonight it’s all about Anna Jay and her match up next. Then, the weird angle between Parker and Ruby Soho continued with Soho returning Parker’s comb.

Abandon defeated Anna Jay, Willow Nightingale & Skye Blue in a #1 Contender’s Match (7:17 aired)

How can you tell it’s Halloween? Abandon is getting a title match on Collision.

Abandon is wearing some kind of hockey mask now and has neon green hair. The match was going nowhere when Toni Storm came out to watch the match from the entrance stage.

Every women’s match on Rampage follows the same pattern: two minutes of the match, then two minutes during the split screen break. Then a full commercial break.

When we return, Skye Blue and Abadon have a stare down in the middle of the ring. Nightingale hit them both with a middle rope dropkick. Nightingale hit a series of corner clotheslines on Blue and Abadon, then took out Anna Jay with the pounce. Willow hit a spinebuster on Jay for a pin attempt, broken up by Skye Blue. Blue sent Nightingale into the rinbost and to the floor.

Blue and Jay double teamed Abadon. Jay locked in a sleeper, but Blue hit Jay with a superkick. Nightingale pulled Blue out of the ring, and Abandon finished off Jay with an inverted DDT for the pinfall.

– The Acclaimed will be celebrating the 69th day of their World Trios Title reign in eight days on Collision, and MJF is invited. 

– Jay White v. AR Fox and a match with the House of Black were announced for Collision during the main event.

“The Alpha” Konosuke Takeshita (w/ Don Callis & Powerhouse Hobbs) defeated Kyle Fletcher (11:17).

Callis and Hobbs hung out at the commentary table.

Takeshita caught Fletcher with a blue thunder bomb for a near fall just before the break.

Fletcher ran into an elbow in the corner. Takeshita followed up with a knee to the back. Fletcher caught Takeshita with a gamingiri to send Takeshita to the floor, and Fletcher followed up with a tope. Back in the ring, Fletcher hit a top rope crossbody for a near fall. Fletcher and Takeshita exchanged strikes. Fletcher hit a half-and-half suplex, but Takeshita came back with a poisoned rana and a lariat. Fletcher countered a suplex attempt with a sheer drop brainbuster for a great near fall. That sequence was tremendous.

Fletcher took Takeshita to the top rope, but Takeshita fought out of it. Takeshita then hit a middle rope tombstone for a near fall and why in god’s name wasn’t that the finish?? Takeshita missed a knee strike, but rolled up Fletcher into a wheelbarrow suplex. In a last gasp of offense, Fletcher hit a thrust kick, but Takeshita hit a knee strike, then hit a running knee strike for the pinfall.

Tremendous match.

After the match, Takeshita dumped Fletcher to the floor to celebrate with the rest of the Family in the ring. Fletcher came back with a chair and hit both Takeshita and Hobbs. Hobbs no-sold the chair and tried to murder Fletcher, but Callis pulled him off and called Fletcher his “apprentice.” “That’s what we wanted, the hate!” Boos reigned down from the crowd as Fletcher left with the Don Callis family. 

It looks like Kyle Fletcher is the newest memeber of the Don Callis Family. 

Final Thoughts:

Oh man, Mark Davis might be screwed if they’re going all the way with Fletcher as a single in the Callis family. Callis was looking for a tag team earlier (when he was recruiting Parker & Menard) so maybe Fletcher and Davis will join as a team once Davis is healed up.

Between two very good matches book-ending the show and a great package on tomorrow night’s main event, this was an excellent episode of Rampage. 

AEW Rampage live results: Mistico vs. Rocky Romero

Mistico makes his AEW debut on tonight’s Rampage. 

The legendary luchador Mistico will face Rocky Romero in a battle of CMLL champions from different weight classes in what is billed as a battle for the pound-for-pound crown of Mexico. No titles are officially on the line in the contest. Mistico is CMLL World Historic Middleweight Champion, while Romero holds the World Historic Welterweight Championship.

John Silver of Dark Order will face Kip Sabian & Brother Zay in a triple threat match for a shot at Orange Cassidy’s International Championship at Saturday’s Battle of the Belts VIII special.

The Outcasts’ Ruby Soho will face Skye Blue in a women’s division contest. 

Also set for the show, Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta of Blackpool Combat Club will be in tag team action on the show. Yuta & Castagnoli will challenge for the AEW World Tag Team titles on Saturday’s Collision episode.

Mistico defeated Rocky “Azucar” Romero in a two out of three falls match (14:24 aired) 

Romero is the CMLL World Historic Welterweight Champion, which “dates back to 1946” according to Excalibur. Mistico is World Histroic Middleweight Champion, which dates to 1933, the year CMLL was founded. Neither championship is on the line, and Excalibur was in his glory going into the details about CMLL and the history of the company. 

First Fall:  After a few minutes of back and forth action, Mistico hit a back handspring elbow to send Romero to the floor, and followed up with a twisting tope. The crowd was solidly behind Mistico. Back in the ring, Mistico tied up Romero on the mat in a surfboard and got a surprisingly quick tap out at 2:38. Mistico up 1-0. 

Second Fall: Romero attacked Mistico from behind and sent him into the ring stairs. Back in the ring, Romero tore at Mistico’s mask. Romero dominated through the split-screen break. Romero hit the forever clotheslines in the corner. Mistico fought out of a cravat and took Romero down with a tijeras. Mistico sent Romero to the floor with an arm drag. Romero suplexed Mistico on the ring apron, then hit a tope suicida that sent Mistico halfway up the ramp. 

Back in the ring, Romero hit a superplex for a near fall. Romero caught Mistico with a kick, then locked in a camel clutch. Mistico escaped the clutch, but Romero hit Sliced Bread for the pinfall at 9:49 (total time). 

Third Fall: This fall was joined in progress after a long commercial break, which killed my enthusiasm for the match. Mistico came off the top rope with a crossbody onto Romero on the floor. Back in the ring, Mistico hit a springboard bodypress for a near fall. After a slam, Mistico went for a moonsault, but Romero got his feet up and kicked Mistico in the mush. Mistico hit a spinning powerslam for a near fall. Mistico tried for a German suplex off the middle rope, but Romero countered with a Sliced Bread off the top rope for a near fall.

Romero slowly climbed to the top, and Mistico ran up the ropes and took Romero to the mat with a Spanish Fly for another near fall. Mistico planted Romero with a Canadian Destroyer, then took Romero down with a spinning tijeras into a Fujiarwa armbar, and Romero tapped out. 

The multiple commercial breaks really hurt this one for me. 

– From Dynamite Wednesday, Stokely Hathaway made a match between Eddie Kingston and Jeff Jarrett for Collision. If Jarrett wins, Lethal gets a shot at the ROH World Title. I sure hope this isn’t the dream match we were promised earlier today. 

John Silver (w/ Evil Uno & Alex Reynolds) defeated Kip Sabian (w/ Penelope Ford, The Butcher & The Blade) and Brother Zay for a shot at the AEW International Title (7:03 aired)

Less than two minutes into the match, the show went into another split-screen break. The commercials feel really poorly timed and have been killing the show.

After the long break, Zay hit a springboard cutter for a near fall. He went for the Twist of Fate, but Sabian shrugged him off. Silver pressed Sabian into Zay for a low blow. Silver hit a German suplex for a near fall. Sabian hit an Arabian Press on Silver on the floor. All the hangers on got into it on the floor, so Zay came off the top with a dive on everybody. Back in the ring, Zay hit the swanton bomb on Sabian, but Silver ran in with a punt and got the pinfall. 

None of these three should be near a singles title match. This was a mess, and the cheap finish didn’t help. 

– Santana and Ortiz will fight next week in Philadelphia. Is this the dream match?  

Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta defeated “Bounty Hunter” Bryan Keith & Exodus Prime (1:41)

Yuta catapulted Prime into a gorilla press from Castagnoli. A giant swing into a dropkick from Yura and the Fastball Special ended the match. 

– Renee Paquette interviewed Matt Menard and Daniel Garcia (along with the rest of that group, and they desprately need a new name), who immediately started arguing. Jake Hager didn’t give up the hat for this! Anna Jay told them it was time to squash it, and even though Menard hates the dance, he loves Garcia and the beef is squashed. It’s unclear how this affects the status of Hager and his hat. 

– The Young Bucks and Hangman Page offered an open challenge for their ROH Six Man titles on Dynamite Wednesday. 

– New on Collision Saturday: FTR returns, and the Dream Match is Official! Bryan Danielson will take on Andrade El Idolo. That’s it?!?!?  

– New on Dynamite Wednesday: Tony Khan has a gift for Sting (there’s like a 50% change with Sting’s history that Khan is turning on him) and The Hardys & Brother Zay accepted the open challenge for the ROH Six Man Titles. 

– New on Rampage Friday: Santana v. Ortiz, which makes sense since the entire feud has been happening through Rampage segments.

Ruby Soho (w/ Saraya) defeated Skye Blue (9:59)

Soho hit a series of short-arm lariats, and Blue came back with a superkick. They fought to the apron and Blue planted Soho face first into the apron. Soho caught Blue with a kick to take control on the floor.

Both women exchanged forearms after a split-screen break. Blue caught Soho with a running knee and a chop block. Blue is noticeably more aggressive, fish-hooking Soho and generally playing dirty. Saraya tripped up Blue, and Soho dropped Blue with a Saito suplex for a near fall. Blue powerbombed Soho out of the corner for another near fall. Saraya interfered again, and Soho hit the No Future for another near fall.

Blue countered an attempt at Destination Unknown with a backslide. Behind the ref’s back, Saraya hit Blue with the can of spray paint, and Soho rolled up Blue for the victory.

Soho and Saraya beat on Blue after the match, but Kris Statlander ran out to chase the heels away. Statlander tried to help Blue back to her feet, but Blue shoved Statlander away and left on her own. 

Final Thoughts: 

This show felt like kind of a mess tonight. They probably would have been better off just announcing Danielson v. Andrade without hyping up “announcing a dream match.” 

AEW Rampage live results: Castagnoli & Yuta vs. Gates of Agony

The Blackpool Combat Club & Mogul Embassy square off on tonight’s AEW Rampage in tag team action. 

Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta of the BCC take on Gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona) from Mogul Embassy in the headline bout this week. 

In a women’s division contest, Skye Blue will face Emi Sakura on this evening’s show. 

In a trios match, former Jericho Appreciation Society members Daniel Garcia, “Daddy Magic” Matt Menard, & “Cool Hand Ang” Angelo Parker will face Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, & Brother Zay on tonight’s episode. 

Jay Lethal (with Jeff Jarrett, Satnam Singh, Sonjay Dutt, & Karen Jarrett) vs. Trent Beretta of Best Friends (with Chuck Taylor & Rocky Romero) in a singles bout is also set for the show. 

This week’s episode was taped Wednesday night, October 11 in Independence, Missouri at the Cable Dahmer Arena. Spoilers from the event can be found here.

Matt Menard, Angelo Parker & Daniel Garcia (w/ Jake Hager)  defeated The Hardys & Brother Zay

I tuned into TNT at 9:58 PM and this match was already happening. It semed like the show started early. The heels were dominant early, and at 10:01 EST the show went to a picture in picture break. 

After the break, Jeff Hardy got the hot tag from Matt and hit an impressive sequence on Parker for a near fall. Hardy caught Parker with the side effect and Jeff dispatched of Garcia with a face-front suplex. Matt and Brother Zay hit Poetry in Motion on Parker. Hager crotched Jeff on the top rope before he could deliver the Swanton Bomb. Zay took out Hager and Menard with a dive to the floor. Garcia dumped Matt Hardy and floored Zay with a lariat in the ring. Garcia did his dance, then finished off Zay with a face-first suplex/gutbuster to get the pinfall. I couldn’t get a sense of the quality of this match, but it seems like Zay is doing most of the flying for the trio, which is probably for the best. 

After the match, Matt Menard was upset with Garcia for doing the dance. Menard shoved Garcia and left alone. 

– From Dynamite Tuesday, Jay White and the Bullet Club interrupted Renee Paquette’s interview with Penta El Zero Mideo and Alex Abrahantes. This lead to the match next week on Dynamite. 

– Renee Paquette interviewed the winners of tonight’s opener. Menard is sick of the dancing, but Parker is okay with it because it’s bringing wins. Hager demands they “squash this.” Menard told everyone to “squash this” and stormed off. 

Jay Lethal (w/ the Sonjay Dutt & Crew) defeated Trent Beretta (w/ Chuck Taylor)

Tony Schiavone called Karen Jarrett a name that should lead to a hefty contribution to the swear jar.

Lethal blocked a spinning DDT from Beretta, but he hopped up with a rana and a superkick for a ner fall. Lethal ducked a crossbody and Beretta hung himself up in the ropes and dropped to the floor. On the floor, Beretta absorbed an Irish whip into the barricade and then hit Lethal with a spear. Beretta got in a shot at Dutt on the floor. Lethal snuck up behind Beretta and rammed his leg into the ringpost. Lethal then worked over Beretta’s leg on the floor during the split-screen break. 

After the break, Beretta got a backslide and a cradle for a near fall. Beretta delivered a pair of high-angle German suplexes. Lethal went for the Lethal injection but got caught with a half-and-half suplex for a near fall. Lethal took Beretta down and locked in a figure-four leglock. Lethal released the hold to hit a superkick on the prone Beretta. Beretta blocked a top rope elbow and tried to mount a last comeback, but Beretta’s leg gave out on him and Lethal hit the Lethal INjection for the win.

– Mike Santana and Ortiz finally confronted each other face-to-face. A very intense backstage promo between Santana and Ortiz culminated when Ortiz said he was coming for Santana’s knee, and Santana told Ortiz he blew out his knee carrying Ortiz. 

Skye Blue defeated Emi Sakura

Blue isn’t her happy-go-lucky usual self after taking the mist from Julia Hart a few weeks ago. Sakura dumped Blue to the floor and hit a cannonball on Blue against the ring stairs. Sakura tied up Blue in a Rito Romero Special, but had to break the hold when her own shoulders were on the mat. Blue came back with a high knee and a DDT.

Sakura hit a double-underhook into a backbreaker for a near fall. Blue escaped an inverted DDT attempt and smacked Sakura with a superkick. Blue then hit the Code Blue for the pinfall. 

– New for Collision: Skye Blue v. Kris Statlander for the TBS title and Brian Cage v. Komander. And new for Dynamite: Jay White v. Penta (I thought that was announced before tonight?), and more matches for Dynamite will be announced on Collision tomorrow night. Also, Rocky Romero v. Mistico has been announced for next week’s Rampage. 

Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta defeated The Gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona) (w/ Prince Nana) (12:10)

On the floor, Kaun whipped Yuta back and forth between the ring barricade and the ring apron. Liona then flew in with a clothesline that knocked Yuta into the seventh row.

After a long split-screen brea, Kaun has Yuta locked in a chinlock. I think Castagnoli has been in the ring for maybe 30 seconds of the match so far. Yuta escaped and hit a German suplex on Kaun. Tags were made on both sides, and Castagnoli hit a series of uppercuts on Liona. Castagnoli mauled Liona in the corner with clotheslines and uppercuts, then floored Liona with a running lariat for a one count. Liona escaped a Neutralizer. Kaun got the tag and hit Claudio with a Juice Box for a near fall.

Clauido kept trying for the giant swing, and finally it on Kaun. He swung Kaun into a dropkick from Yuta for a near fall. Castagnoli chased Prince Nana to the back. Back in the ring, Kaun hit Yuta with a pedigree for a near fall. Yuta had to fight off both members of the Gates of Agony, who planted him with a double spinebuster. Yuta kicked out, but barely. Castignoli came back to take out Liona with an uppercut. Yuta hit a high-angle slam, and Yuta and Castignoli hit the “Fastball Special” (a modified rocket launcher) to get the pinfall. Good enough match. 

Final Thoughts: 

The show ended at 10:56 EST, so I guess it started four minutes early. Whatever Paul Wight’s job is in AEW, it should be changed to full-time commentator because he was great on this show. Wight could be a modern-day Gorilla Monsoon, and I mean that in the nicest possible way. 

 

AEW Rampage live results: ROH title number one contender’s match

A new number one contender to the ROH World Championship will be decided on tonight’s AEW Rampage. 

Penta El Zero Miedo, Johnny TV, Komander, and the debuting Lince Dorado will do battle in a four-way to decide Eddie Kingston’s next ROH World title challenger. Kingston will be on commentary for the bout. 

TBS Champion Kris Statlander & Hikaru Shida will team up against former Women’s World Champion Nyla Rose & Marina Shafir on the show. Shida will challenge Saraya for the Women’s World title on Dynamite Title Tuesday next week. 

An eight-man tag team bout is also set for tonight’s episode, with Matt Menard, Angelo Parker, Jake Hager, and Daniel Garcia facing Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, and Trent Beretta and Chuck Taylor of Best Friends. 

Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta of Blackpool Combat Club will also be in tag team action on tonight’s show.

Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, Trent Beretta and Chuck Taylor (w/ Brother Zay) defeated Matt Menard, Angelo Parker, Jake Hager, & Daniel Garcia (w/ Anna Jay) (10:30)

Jeff Hardy and Garcia had a dance-off, which led to a cheap shot from Menard and the former JAS team taking control. The heels worked over Jeff in the corner while the commentary team reminded us for the first time that next Tuesday is “Title Tuesday.” Jeff reversed and Irish Whip, hit Garcia with a clothesline, and got the tag to Trent Beretta.

Beretta hit Garcia a series of suplexes and a big boot, then followed up with a death valley driver. the match broke down with all eight men fighting in the ring. The Hardys clotheslined Jake Hager to the floor, and the Hardys and the Best Friends got to give the people what they want!

After the group hug in the ring, Beretta hit Menard and Parker with a dive on the floor. Hager followed out with a charging clothesline that dimmed Beretta’s lights. 

After a split-screen break Menard worked over Beretta in the corner with chops. Beretta caught Menard with a running knee and got the tag to Matt Hardy. Hardy hit the Side Effect on Hager Garcia. Parker broke up the Twist of Fate attempt. Hager hit a Hager Bomb on Hardy and Garcia covered for two. Everybody was back in the ring again and Rick Knox didn’t even try to control things. Beretta hit a knee, Mendard hit a powerbomb, Jeff Hardy hit a Twist of Fate. Garcia went for a sharpshooter on Matt, but Matt pushed him away and into Menard and Parker. He crashed into Anna Jay on the floor. While his partners attended to at Anna Jay, Garcia got hit with a Twist of Fate and the Swanton Bomb and Jeff Hardy got the pinfall. 

– Renee Paquette tried to interview Eddie Kingston, but was interrupted by Sonjay Dutt’s crew, less Jay Lethal. Dutt challenged Kingston on behalf of Jay Lethal. Kingston will give Lethal a shot if he proves he deserves it. Kingston exited stage right, while Stokely Hathaway entered to cut a deal with Dutt and his crew. 

– A very nice, very evil promo for Danhausen.

Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta defeated Wise Guy Ruiz & Levi Shapiro (2:37)

Commentators wanted to talk about Christian Cage telling Adam Copeland to “Go Fly a Kite” at the end of Dynamite Wednesday. I wondered what he said; my audio went out for a minute last Wednesday.

Anyway, Yuta took Shapiro down with a modified Angle slam, and Castagnoli followed up with a clothesline. Ruiz kept Castignoli from dropping the hammer and tong elbow drops, so Yuta booted him out of the ring. Castagnoli gave Shapiro the giant swing into a dropkick from Yuta. Castagnoli and Yuta finished off Shapiro with the “Fastball Special,” a modified Rocket Launcher.

– The former JAS members argued about the loss, but it seemed like most of them were upset with Garcia and his dancing. But don’t they know the dance is money? 

Komander (w/ Alex Abrahantes) defeated Lince Dorado, Penta El Zero Miedo (also w/ Alex Abrahantes) and Johnny TV (w/ Harley Cameron & Aaron Solo) in a Four Way for a shot at the Ring of Honor World Title (9:49). 

Kingston was on commentary for the match, and immediately reminded us Penta was his best friend. Also I think Abrahantes literally entered twice, once with Penta and then again wtih Komander. 

Komander also had a AAA title belt with him. 

Lots of high flying to start. Dorado and Komander had a nice exchange in the center of the ring while Penta was literally sitting out the match on the floor. Solo’s interference sent Dorado to the floor and into a superkick from Johnny TV. Back in the ring, Penta caught Johnny TV with a Canadian Destroyer that sent Johnny TV to the floor. Penta then hit Komander and Dorado with a tope con hilo on the floor. Penta strutted around ringside, and Johnny TV hit him from behind to take control as the show went to break. 

After the break, Johnny TV was dominating the field, taking out Penta with a neckbreaker and dropping Dorado with a rolling fallaway slam. Johnny TV powerslammed Komander. Komader hit Dorando with a top rope rana, which sent Dorado into Johnny TV, and Dorado caught HIM with a rana. Dorado hit both Johnny TV and Penta with a top rope moonsault to the floor. Komader then ran along the top ropes and hit everyone on the floor with a springboard twisting moonsault.

Back in the ring, Komander hit a springboard 450 on Dorado and got the pinfall. 

This was just a bunch of moves… amazing moves to be sure. But just a bunch of moves. 

– Ortiz cut a promo on Mike Santana in the back. Karma took Santana’s one knee, and Ortiz is coming for the other one. 

– In new matches announced for Collision: Adam Copeland responds to Christian Cage (will he accept the invitation to fly kites?), Eddie Kingston faces Komander for the ROH World Title, and Bryan Danielson takes on Kyle Fletcher. Nothing new was announced for Tuesday’s Dynamite (but they at least did mention that Dynamite was on Tuesday, and Collision started at 7pm). 

Kris Statlander & Hikaru Shida defeated Women’s World Champion Nyla Rose & Marina Shafir (11:06)

Shafir and Rose attacked their opponents before the bell. Rose stomped Statlander on the floor and threw her into the ring barricades. In the ring, Shafir and Shida exchanged punches on the mat. Shida got the ropes to break up an armbar attempt. Rose got the tag and slammed Shida, then dropped the leg for a one count.

Shida had to fight through a 2-on-1 disadvantage while Statlander sold the beating from Rose on the floor. As Statlander started to get on the apron, Rose sent her to the floor with a flying dropkick.

The heels dominated through the split screen break. Shida finally caught them with a crossbody and made the tag to Statlander for the first time at 7 minutes into the match. Statlander hit Shafir and Rose with clotheslines in the corner. Statlander went to slam Rose, but her back gave out and Rose fell on top for a near fall. Statlander got her knees up on a senton attempt, then slammed Rose for a near fall.

Rose came back with a lariat on Statlander for two. Rose gave Statlander a hanging tree slam for a near fall from Shafir. The crowd chanted for Shida while Statlander took a beating. Statlander dropped Shafir with a blue thunder bomb and caught Rose with a kick, then made the tag to Shida.

Shida came off the middle rope with a crossbody on both her opponents on the floor. Shafir hit the falcon arrow for a near fall. Shida tried to go to the top, but Rose cut her off. Statlander came in and got Rose up in the electric chair drop, and Shida flew off the top with a palm strike in a modified Doomsday Device. Shida caught Shafir with a hook kick, then finished her off with Saraya’s finisher (the Night Cap) to get the pinfall. 

Excalibur managed to get in one more plug for the special start time for Collision tomorrow and the special night for Dynamite next week. 

Final Thoughts: 

I was kind of bored with this show tonight. And I don’t think they plugged the special start time for Collision or Dynamite being on Tuesday next week nearly enough.
