AEW Dark results: JD Drake vs. Matt Sydal

This week’s AEW Dark was taped at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida.

Dark Order (John Silver & Alex Reynolds) defeated Zuka & Alexander Moss

After Reynolds took down Zuka early with a shoulder tackle, Silver came in a delivered a flapjack followed by him delivering his signature kicks to Zuka’s chest.

Zuka eventually got the upper hand for a moment, allowing him to get the tag to Moss. Reynolds also came in and delivered a rolling elbow to Moss, followed by a double stomp to the back. Moments later, Silver and Reynolds hit their signature stunner/german suplex combo for the victory.

Emi Sakura defeated Avery Breaux

Breaux came out of the gate hot, hitting Sakura with a back elbow. The ball wasn’t entirely in her court as the match went on, but Breaux was able to hit a sick cannonball in the corner for a near fall.

Sakura eventually regained the momentum and nailed Breaux with a butterfly suplex. Moments later, Sakura hit a moonsault for the win.

The Trustbusters (Ari Daivari, Slim J & Parker Boudreaux) defeated Marcus Kross, GMK & Mike Magnum

Slim J and Kross started out. After J beat him down, Daivari tagged in and got a near fall. Every member of the opposing team got a few seconds in the match, but GMK was on the receiving end of a Daivari and J-led assisted neckbreaker.

In the final stages, Boudreaux hit a back body slam on Magnum. This was followed by a frog splash and pin from Daivari.

Anthony Ogogo defeated Luke Kurtis

Ogogo attacked Kurtis before the bell, nailing him with a release german suplex. Moments later, Ogogo knocked out Kurtis with his signature pop up right hand.

After the match, he cut a promo about being relegated to wrestling “indie sh*tbags” on Dark for the past fourteen months.

Zack Clayton defeated Vary Morales

Clayton tossed Morales to the mat, but his focus quickly shifted to a fan at ringside who was heckling him. This allowed Morales to hit him from behind, but Clayton ended the match seconds later with a flying neckbreaker.

Clayton cut a promo afterward and put himself over, while also running down fans.

Marina Shafir defeated La Rosa Negra

Negra matched well with Shafir in the beginning stages, but Shafir gained more of an advantage due to her abundance of aggression. Shafir submitted Negra with a leg/arm-based submission at around the 90-second mark.

Madison Rayne defeated Viva Van

Rayne locked Van in a headlock early, but Van rallied back. At one point, Van trapped Rayne in the corner and delivered a series of forearms. Van’s control didn’t last long as Rayne delivered a rotating neckbreaker for the victory.

After the bout, Rayne cut a promo about being happy to be in AEW.

KiLynn King defeated Sahara Se7en

Se7en jumped King in the corner as the bell rang. King wasn’t affected, delivering a series of brutal chops followed by a short-armed clothesline. Moments later, King hit a pump-handle driver for the win.

Tony Nese & Josh Woods (w/ Mark Sterling) defeated Baliyan Akki & Ryan Matthews

Woods twisted Akki up like a pretzel as the bout began. After toying with him a bit, Nese came in but struggled to keep a hold on Akki. Akki made a hot tag to Matthews who nailed Nese with a few strikes, followed by a float-over pinning attempt. Nese recovered quickly and called Woods in the ring, who helped him hit their assisted neckbreaker finisher for the quick victory.

They face Samoa Joe & TNT Champion Wardlow on AEW Rampage Grand Slam.

Sonny Kiss (w/ The Trustbusters) defeated Joe Ocasio

Ocasio nailed Kiss with a back elbow to start the match. He would follow that up with a running splash for a near fall. Ocasio would fall victim to an eye gouge that gave Kiss an opening to hit a corkscrew kick for the win.

Matt Sydal defeated JD Drake

Sydal and Drake locked up early, but Sydal got the advantage after he kicked out Drake’s legs from underneath him. Sydal followed up with a standing corkscrew moonsault for a near fall.

Drake was reeling on the outside when Sydal hit him with a running dropkick. Drake recovered rather quickly and tossed Sydal into the ring ropes before clotheslining him on the rebound. Drake rolled in the ring after this while Sydal attempted to recover on the floor.

As both men recovered in the ring, Drake had full control of the match until he attempted to hit a Vader Bomb. A miss allowed Sydal to capitalize as he hit a series of kicks that slowed Drake down more. Moments later, Sydal hit the lightning spiral for the victory.

After the match, Anthony Henry attacked Sydal and the show ended with The WorkHorsemen standing tall.

AEW Dark results: Danhausen vs. Peter Avalon, Matt Hardy vs. Angelico

This week’s AEW Dark was taped in Chicago, Illinois, over All Out weekend.

Excalibur and Taz were on commentary because apparently itโ€™s illegal for AEW to tape a show without Excalibur and Taz on commentary.

Penelope Ford defeated Alice Crowley (3:20)

I feel like they have lost the plot with Kip Sabian and the box over his head. Ford was dominant although Crowley did land a hard chop that left a mark. Ford dropkicked Crowley from behind while she was slumped in the ropes, hit a handspring elbow in the corner, and charged in with a boot. Ford got the submission victory with the Muta Lock.

In the back, Alex Marvez reported on a commotion in Hikaru Shidaโ€™s locker room. Rebel and Britt Baker emerged, having apparently laid out Shida to keep her from teaming with Toni Storm on Dynamite tomorrow night. It was announced later in the show that Athena will take Shida’s place, teaming with interim Women’s Champion Toni Storm against Baker and Serena Deeb.

Dante Martin & Matt Sydal defeated The Wingmen (Cezar Bononi & Nick Nemeth) (6:19)

Taz made a joke about his long-running lawsuit with Martin. Iโ€™m not sure this is the time to be making lawsuit jokes in AEW, but here we are.

Early in the match, there was a really sloppy dive from Martin and Sydal as they tried a hip toss off the apron but wound up basically falling onto the Wingmen. Sydal took the brunt of the punishment from Nemeth and Bononi, but caught Nemeth with a hurricanrana and countered a slam from Bononi with a DDT.

Martin got the tag and used his speed to frustrate Bononi and Nemeth, but Bononi pressed Martin out of the corner as he and Nemeth then delivered an assisted firemanโ€™s carry slam. Sydal stunned Nemeth with a question mark kick and Martin came off the top with the Nosedive to get the pin in a fun match.

Skye Blue & Queen Aminata defeated Diamante & Emi Sakura (w/ Baliyan Akki) (4:01)

Diamante hit a hard german suplex on Blue to get the edge, followed by Sakura delivering a backbreaker out of a double underhook suplex. Blue caught Diamante with a kick and got the tag to Aminata who hit a flatliner for a near fall. Blue came off the top with a crossbody to the floor on her opponents. Back in the ring, Blue caught Sakura with a superkick, and drove her down to the mat to get the pin.

Danhausen defeated Peter Avalon (2:15)

Avalon did a pretty poor Rick Rude imitation. I think he looks more like โ€œThe Geniusโ€ Lanny Poffo anyway. Danhausen hit a German suplex and a pump kick, and then cursed Avalon. Danhausen locked in a submission to get the victory. This was short but fun, and the crowd was very into Danhausen.

Matt Hardy defeated Angelico (6:32)

Hardy has been trying to go through his former associates one-by-one.

Angelico took Hardy down with an armdrag, and Hardy responded by sending him head first into all the turnbuckles. Literally all 12 turnbuckles. What a ruffian. Hardy pulled him up by the legs into a sit-out powerbomb for a near fall. Hardy went for a side effect, but Angelico responded with a Greco-Roman elbow to the face, followed by an enziguri and stomps.

Angelico wore down Hardy with an armbar. Hardy worked his way out of the hold and hit the Side Effect for a near fall. Hardy went for the Twist of Fate, but Angelico rolled through and into an Oklahoma roll for a near fall. Angelico got a small package and a La Magistral cradle for a pair of near falls. Hardy hit Angelico with the Twist of Fate out of nowhere to get the pinfall.

After the show ended, a simply fabulous promo piece building up Jon Moxley vs. Sammy Guevara aired. That four minutes alone (seen below) made this a must-see show.

Danhausen vs. Avalon, Matt Hardy vs. Angelico part of five-match AEW Dark lineup

AEW has announced five matches for Dark.

Danhausen will be in singles action as he takes on Peter Avalon. Matt Hardy will also face former Hardy Family Office member, Angelico, on the show. Recently on episodes of BTE, Hardy has been trying to make amends for how he treated former members of his faction.

Other matches scheduled to air include Dante Martin & Matt Sydal vs. Cezar Bononi & Ryan Nemeth and Penelope Ford vs. Alice Crowley. Emi Sakura, Diamante, Skye Blue, and Queen Aminata will also be in action on the show.

This week’s episode was filmed on Friday, September 2 from the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.

AEW Dark airs on Tuesday beginning at 7 p.m Eastern time on YouTube. The advertised lineup for the show is as follows:

  • Angelico vs. Matt Hardy
  • Danhausen vs. “Pretty” Peter Avalon
  • Dante Martin & Matt Sydal vs. Cezar Bononi & Ryan Nemeth
  • Penelope Ford vs. Alice Crowley
  • Emi Sakura & Diamante vs. Skye Blue & Queen Aminata

AEW Dark results: Claudio Castagnoli vs. Ari Daivari ROH World Title match

This week’s AEW Dark was taped last week at the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.

Tony Nese & Josh Woods (w/ Mark Sterling) defeated Storm Grayson & Brandon Gore

Grayson delivered a few elbow strikes to Woods to start things off, but Woods responded with a knee strike. Moments later, Nese helped Woods hit an assisted fallaway slam to pick up another victory.

Marina Shafir (w/ Nyla Rose & Vickie Guerrero) defeated Laynie Luck

Luck tried to outmaneuver Shafir early on, but Shafir was having none of it and delivered a few judo throws to take the advantage. When Luck tried to roll out of the ring to recover, Rose threw her right back in. Shafir eventually went on to submit Luck with an armbar.

Zack Clayton defeated Serpentico (w/ Luther)

The past FTW title challenger trapped Serpentico in the corner early on and nailed him with a few elbow shots. Serpentico would eventually escape and hit a few takedowns which got a good reaction from the crowd. Clayton would regain control after Serpentico missed a top rope move. Seconds later, Clayton hit Serpentico with a lariat for the victory.

Julia Hart defeated Missa Kate

Hart battered Kate early on before locking in her signature Hartless submission for another win.

Serena Deeb defeated Sierra

Deeb trapped Sierra on the mat in the early seconds, applying multiple variations of submissions. Sierra got a free moment when she escaped out of a hold and stepped on Deeb’s back which “The Professor” took as disrespect. Sierra was also able to get in a superkick before Deeb chop blocked her knee and eventually locked in her Serena Lock for the submission win.

Private Party defeated Robert Anthony & GPA

GPA took Marq Quen to school (ha!) as the bell rang, raining down a few strikes. This advantage wouldn’t last for long as Quen took back control after hitting a few double team maneuvers with Isiah Kassidy. This would lead to Anthony coming in the bout, but his fate would be worse as he was on the receiving end of a Gin & Juice, giving Private Party another victory as of late.

ROH World Champion Claudio Castagnoli defeated Ari Daivari to retain the title

Castagnoli took Daivari to the mat as the bell rang. The bout quickly spilled to the outside with Castagnoli getting one running uppercut in before Daivari ducked the second one and began to work down the right knee of the Blackpool Combat Club’s resident Swiss superstar.

Castagnoli’s knee continued to hinder him throughout the bout, letting Daivari perform moves such as a diving bodypress that resulted in a near fall. This didn’t matter in the long run as Castagnoli would go on to nail Daivari with a Ricola bomb for the win to retain the title.

AEW Dark results: Rush vs. Blake Christian, Dante Martin vs. AR Fox

This week’s AEW Dark action was taped earlier this month at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida.

John Silver defeated Serpentico (w/ Luther)

Silver nailed Serpentico with a takedown before following it up with a perfect dropkick. Silver proceeded to begin tossing “Snakeman” around the ring, going pillar to post. This prompted Luther to get involved verbally with Silver, allowing Serpentico a moment to catch his breath and nail Silver with a superkick.

The match went on and Serpentico didn’t maintain control for long, as Silver would begin to gain momentum after nailing a few of his signature kicks. Moments later, Silver defeated Serpentico after hitting him with a doctor bomb.

Silver now prepares for Friday’s Trios title tourney semifinal match alongside Alex Reynolds & 10 against Best Friends.

Diamante defeated Charlette Renegade (w/ Robyn Renegade)

Diamante nailed Renegade with a few arm drags as the bout began. She remained in control in the moments following, hitting a dropkick to the neck.

The match shifted when Robyn snuck in a cheap shot on Diamante, which allowed Charlette to get in some of her signature offense. When Robyn tried to cheap shot Diamante again, she accidentally struck Charlette. Diamante took advantage by hitting a code red for the victory.

Angelo Parker (w/ Matt Menard) defeated Gus De La Vega

Parker hit an elevated DDT on Vega for a very quick victory. He is expected to challenge FTW Champion Hook next, possibly as early as this week or weekend.

Later, Parker and Menard cut a promo backstage about Hook, essentially calling him a pretty boy while threatening to steal his hair gel from his locker room bag. This was absolutely phenomenal.

Kiera Hogan defeated Mylo

Mylo applied a headlock to Hogan early and kept it cinched in for a few seconds before Hogan fought out of it and slammed her to the mat. In the moments following, Hogan nailed Mylo with a few kicks and chops in the corner.

Hogan would go on to end things with a great roundhouse kick for the pin.

The Trustbusters (Ari Daivari, Parker Boudreaux & Slim J) (w/ Sonny Kiss) defeated Logan Cruz, Tyshaun Perez & Hermano

Slim J destroyed Perez early on, nailing him with a series of stiff clotheslines. Cruz came in next, as did Boudreaux. Boudreaux pulled in Perez and Hermano and hit all three of them with a corner splash. Moments later, Boudreaux hit Perez with a back body drop for the win.

Julia Hart defeated Vicky Dreamboat

Hart nailed Dreamboat with a nasty back elbow as the match began. Moments later, Dreamboat was thrown headfirst into the turnbuckle. After some more offense, Hart submitted Dreamboat with her now-signature Hartless submission.

Kayla Rossi (w/ Diamond Sheik) defeated Vipress

Rossi wrecked Vipress with a powerful lariat to kick things off. Moments later, Rossi hit a fallaway slam/moonsault combination for the victory.

Varsity Blonds defeated Rosario Grillo & Dean Alexander

Brian Pillman Jr. and Grillo started out. Grillo tried to escape out of Pillman’s arm hold, which worked for a moment, but Pillman quickly regained control. After working down Grillo some more, Griff Garrison entered and hit a great leg drop. Moments later, the Blonds hit their spinebuster/dropkick combo for the victory.

Dante Martin defeated AR Fox

This was the best match of the night to this point and it’s not even close.

Martin and Fox countered each other’s fast-paced offense as the match began, which ended in both men coming to a stalemate. Fox positioned himself on the apron before slingshotting himself into the ring and hitting a twisting brainbuster on Martin.

Martin fought back with his own suplex as the crowd was as attentive as they have been all night. Martin would follow the suplex up with an kick to the head and a crossbody for a near fall. Fox fought back and hit a jaw-dropping springboard spanish fly, followed by a 450 splash for another near fall.

Martin was able to outsmart Fox’s next move and pop himself up for a Nosedive which scored him the victory.

Brock Anderson (w/ Arn Anderson) defeated Tyson Maddux

Anderson worked down Maddux early on, targeting his arm. Anderson decided to make quick work of Maddux shortly after, hitting him with a spinebuster for the win.

The WorkHorsemen defeated Oliver Sawyer & Manny Lo

Lo was on the receiving end of multiple chops from JD Drake before Henry came in and delivered a kick that made the entire arena gasp. Sawyer came in moments later and ate a moonsault from Drake, which gave the WorkHorsemen the victory.

After the match, Drake and Anthony Henry cut a great promo and addressed Drake leaving The Wingmen.

Leila Grey defeated Renee Michelle

Michelle started off with aggression, but it backfired as Grey was able to wear her down more easily. Grey responded with a good suplex, but Michelle kicked out. Michelle then hit a top rope dropkick, which Grey kicked out of at the last second. Moments later, Grey hit Michelle with a facebuster for the win.

Rush defeated Blake Christian

Christian took it to Rush early on, hitting a pair of hurricanrana before failing to hit a out of the ring dropkick after Rush moved out of the way. Rush would take control of the match, throwing Christian into the barricade on multiple occasions.

He then tossed Christian back in the ring and began to work him down. Christian was eventually able to sneak in a tiger feint kick, followed by a shotgun dropkick that sent Rush back to the outside of the ring.

When the match made it back in the ring, Christian attempted a 450 Splash, but Rush got up at the last second and clocked “All Heart” with a nasty-looking headbutt. He followed that up with his signature running dropkick finisher for the win.

Rush vs. Blake Christian part of 13-match AEW Dark lineup

  • “Cool Hand” Angelo Parker vs. Gus De La Vega

AEW Dark results: Daniel Garcia vs. Westin Blake

This week’s AEW Dark lineup was taped last Sunday at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida.

Robyn & Charlette Renegade defeated Allie Recks & Rocky Radley

Robyn started off with Radley, who got the early advantage by cutting off the ring and tagging out to Recks. Robyn maneuvered her way out of the offensive onslaught and tagged Charlette, who helped her lift up Recks for a great delayed vertical suplex.

Radley came in off a hot tag and tried to slow the momentum, but she ended up being on the receiving end of a neckbreaker/spinebuster combo. Moments later, Charlette pinned Radley for the win.

Anthony Ogogo defeated Meto

Ogogo trapped Meto in an armbar as soon as the bell rang. Despite being in complete control, Ogogo wasted more time here by attempting a few finger-based submissions which Meto fought out of with ease.

Ogogo continued to manhandle Meto from this point, throwing him over his head easily on multiple occasions. Moments later, Ogogo landed his signature knockout punch on Meto for the victory.

The Wingmen (Ryan Nemeth & Peter Avalon) defeated Adrian Alanis & Liam Gray

Nemeth and Avalon jumped Alanis and Gray as the bell rang. This advantage didn’t last for long as Alanis and Gray fought back quickly with Alanis nailing a dropkick. The mistake came when Alanis was shoved into Gray, allowing The Wingmen to hit a combination neckbreaker/frog splash, securing them the win.

Blake Christian defeated Lucky Ali

Ali and Christian exchanged wrist control early on, but Christian took control and planted Ali with a powerslam. Moments later, Christian hit a split-legged moonsault for a very close near fall.

Christian continued to impress, hitting a middle rope stomp on the sitting duck that was Ali. After a few more dives, Christian hit a running step-up stomp for the win.

Christian cut a promo after the match about being back on track following his win.

Jora Johl defeated Vary Morales

Morales tried to toss around Johl early on, but Johl practically no sold his attempts at offense. Johl was caught with a right hand and rolled to the outside to recover, which allowed Morales to hit a diving crossbody to the outside. Again, Johl shrugged off the move rather quickly as the two rolled back in the ring.

Morales attempted another high flying move moments later, but Johl caught him with a pump kick in mid-air for the win.

Max Caster defeated Justin Cotto

Caster’s pre-match rap involved lines about NFTs and President Biden’s approval rating.

Caster delivered some stiff strikes early before nailing Cotto with a dropkick. After a near fall, Caster proceeded to scissor referee Aubrey Edwards.

Caster followed up his antics with a back body drop and a Mic Drop for the victory.

Dante Martin & Matt Sydal defeated The Factory (Nick Comoroto & Aaron Solo)

After Sydal and Solo exchanged a few moves, Martin came in, which prompted Comoroto and Solo to cut off the ring and begin beating him down. After a couple of power moves, Solo tagged in and began working on the neck as Martin kept trying to fight off double teams.

Comoroto and Solo continued to wear down Martin, but eventually Martin flipped over Solo after hitting Comoroto with a superman forearm. Sydal came in off a hot tag and delivered a meteora to Solo before taking him to the top rope. Moments later, Sydal took Solo off the turnbuckle with a great hurricanrana.

In the closing moments, Sydal stuck Solo with a roundhouse kick and tagged out to Martin, allowing him to hit his signature Nosedive for the win.

Daniel Garcia defeated Westin Blake

This was the AEW debut for the former Wesley Blake of WWE and NXT.

Garcia was all over Blake from the get go, locking him in a various amount of submissions that were quickly broken up. Blake responded with pure intensity, rocking the back of Garcia’s head with a great forearm strike.

Garcia eventually rose back up and began trading chops with Blake, which ultimately led to Blake getting planted on his dome with a back body drop. Garcia followed it up with a reverse suplex that turned into a dragon sleeper, which turned out to be Blake’s undoing as it made him submit.

The Trustbusters (Ari Daivari, Parker Boudreaux, & Slim J w/ VSK & Sonny Kiss) defeated Ryan Howe, Omar Amir, & Cash Flo

Slim J and Howe started off. After controlling the arm for a few moments, J tagged out to Daivari, who began doing the same thing to Howe. Cash Flo made his way into the bout a few seconds later, which prompted Boudreaux to tag in. Amir, the largest member of his team, came in and ate a clothesline from Boudreaux as the bout rolled on.

Howe came in illegally and tried to take on Boudreaux, but the former football player threw him out of the ring with ease. Cash Flo tried to do the same, but he was met with the same exact fate. Boudreaux then tagged in Slim J and they hit an assisted floatover neckbreaker on Amir for the victory.

After the bout, Daivari introduced the former VSK as the Trust Butler.

Tony Nese & Josh Woods defeated GKM & Oliver Sawyer

Woods trapped Sawyer in a waistlock early on and worked him down before positioning him in the corner for a running double knee strike. When GKM tried to prevent any further damage, Nese pulled him out of the ring which allowed Woods to cover Sawyer for the win.

After the match, “Smart” Mark Sterling revealed that he plans to sue the Blackpool Combat Club due to problems with Jon Moxley and Wheeler Yuta.

Iron Savages (w/ JT Davidson) defeated Manny Lo & Sean Maluta

The former Bear Country are now known as the Iron Savages, despite keeping the Boulder and Bronson names. They are also now managed by independent wrestling manager JT Davidson.

Maluta and Lo had zero chance here as both Boulder and Bronson destroyed them with an array of power moves. Shortly after, the Savages motioned to hit their signature assisted running cannonball for the quick victory.

After the bout, Davidson introduced himself as the “Iron Manager” before Bronson cut a passionate promo about taking his rightful spot within the company.

The WorkHorsemen defeated Rosario Grillo & Dean Alexander

JD Drake and Grillo started out with Drake taking down Grillo with a hard shoulder tackle before following that up with a lariat. Anthony Henry came in and gave Grillo a stiff kick to the spine, which popped the crowd big. Grillo was able to reverse a stall suplex from Henry into a cradle pin for a near fall.

Alexander came in off the hot tag and hit a few moves on Henry, but Drake would illegally come in the ring and put a stop to it. This allowed Henry to hit a stomp from the top rope, which was followed up by a Drake moonsault. Moments later, Henry pinned Alexander to cement the win.

KiLynn King defeated Mafiosa

Mafiosa wasted way too much time showboating early on, although some of her offense was effective against King. King would go on to fight back with the support of the crowd as she hit a nice roundhouse kick followed by a reverse side slam for the win.

After the bout, King was interviewed by Tony Schiavone. King talked about how it is great to be back in AEW after busting her butt on the independent scene for the past couple of months. Britt Baker eventually interrupted the promo and ran down King about her sob story.

The two eventually ending up brawling, which resulted in King standing tall at the end. This sets up their match on this Wednesday’s Dynamite.

Westin Blakeโ€™s debut part of 14-match AEW Dark lineup

AEW has announced 14 matches for Dark.

Half of the matches on this week’s show were filmed from Orlando’s Universal Studios on July 16 and the other half are from the most recent tapings on August 21 from the same venue.

Bear Country underwent a name change and are now known as The Iron Savages. They will face Sean Maluta & Manny Lo in tag team action.

Anthony Ogogo, Dante Martin, Matt Sydal, Blake Christian, Max Caster, and the Trustbusters are all scheduled for the show as well.

AEW Dark results: Powerhouse Hobbs vs. Blake Christian

This week’s AEW Dark was taped last month at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida.

Ari Daivari (w/ Slim J & Parker Boudreaux) defeated Fuego Del Sol

Del Sol controlled wrist of Daivari early on before locking in a headscissors that kept him grounded for a few moments. Del Sol attempted to turn Daivari’s positioning into a big move, but would ultimately fail as Daivari took control.

Daivari worked down Sol with a few headlocks before Slim J got involved which further gave the advantage to his Trust Busters partner. Daivari responded by locking in a headlock on Sol that took him to the mat, but when referee Aubrey Edwards checked on him, Sol was still conscious.

The crowd was fully behind Del Sol at this point as he attempted a tornado DDT, but it didn’t land. Instead, Sol drove both of his feet into Daivari with a double stomp before hanging him upside down on the turnbuckle and hitting a coast to coast. The combination of these moves resulted in a near fall.

The match spilled outside for a moment here, causing the remaining Trust Busters to get involved. This allowed Daivari to throw Del Sol into the ring post before sliding him into the ring and hitting a frog splash for the win.

After the bout, Daivari bragged about his investments and how they keep going up.

Willow Nightingale defeated Robyn Renegade (w/ Charlette Renegade)

Nightingale dropped Renegade with a high boot, followed up by a crossbody. Renegade regained her composure and nailed Nightingale with a backbreaker for a near fall. The two traded moves back and forth before Robyn got a chance to roll out of the ring, which prompted Charlette to replace her with a bit of twin magic.

The Renegades’ plot wouldn’t work, thought, as Nightingale nailed Charlette with a doctor bomb shortly after for the victory.

Brock Anderson (w/ Arn Anderson) defeated Serpentico

Anderson dominated Serpentico throughout the entire bout, treating him like a ragdoll. This went on until Serpentico was able to get in a few jabs to the head, followed by a senton. Serpentico motioned to mock Arn Anderson with a fake shotgun motion, which made Brock even more angry.

The match really started to drag at this point with Anderson going through his third wave of momentum in the match. Shortly after hitting a DDT, Anderson hit a spinebuster for the win.

Abadon defeated Mafiosa

Abadon hit a middle rope cutter as the match began. This was followed up with a kick to the head, which was preceded by a brutal senton. Moments later, Abadon hit a Black Delilah for the win.

Angelico defeated Baliyan Akki

Akki showed off some impressive grappling skills early on before delivering a few strikes that looked pretty good. These wouldn’t really affect Angelico though as he would lock in the octopus Lock for the submission victory.

Emi Sakura defeated Renee Michelle

Sakura did not play with her food here as she bounced Michelle right off the ropes when the bell rang before throwing her across the ring by her hair. Michelle made a recovery eventually and hit an impressive missile dropkick that resulted in a near fall.

Sakura wouldn’t let this phase her as she motioned for her own second rope splash, followed by an underhook facebuster for the win.

Josh Woods defeated Cobra

Woods outclassed Cobra in a near embarrassing way here, running circles around him in both a physical and mental way. This didn’t last long as Woods would lock in a variation of an armbar to score the submission victory.

Skye Blue defeated Charlette Renegade (w/ Robyn Renegade)

Blue didn’t take Renegade’s taunting lightly early on, planting her with a series of arm drags. Renegade responded by slamming Blue’s head into the mat and then hitting her with a great flatliner.

Blue fought back with passion as the crowd got behind her. After nailing Renegade with her signature superkick, Blue attempted a pinning maneuver for a near fall. This would lead to Charlette rolling out of the ring, which prompted Robyn to try and make the switch. The referee noticed and booted Robyn out of the arena. Blue took advantage, hitting Charlette with a half and half suplex for the win.

Bear Country defeated Victor Iniestra & Alex Rico

Bronson got double teamed early on, which was surprising because it actually worked out in favor of Bear Country as it got the momentum for a massive Bear Boulder hot tag. When he came in, he hit both Rico and Iniestra with a pair of slide slams before positioning them in the corner for a double cannonball which scored Bear Country the victory.

Kayla Rossi (w/ Diamond Sheik) defeated Avery Breaux

Rossi overpowered the fast-paced nature of Breaux when the bell rang. Rossi had a purpose of outpowering Breaux, trapping her on the middle rope with a knee to the back of the head. Rossi would go on to pin Breaux after hitting a powerslam and a brainbuster in her first-ever match.

Cezar Bononi (w/ Ryan Nemeth & Peter Avalon) defeated Marcus Kross

Kross tried to use his speed to avoid Bononi early on, but the strategy didn’t pay off as Bononi tossed him around the ring about seven different times. Kross would end up getting in some offense here and there, but Bononi caught one of his springboard moves and turned it into a gutwrench suplex for the win.

Powerhouse Hobbs defeated Blake Christian

Hobbs tried to charge Christian in the corner, but “All Heart” was able to avoid him on more than one occasion. Christian hit the ropes in an attempt to gain steam, but Hobbs ran him over with a clothesline. The match went to the floor moments after and Hobbs capitalized by tossing Christian into the ring post on multiple occasions.

After the match made it back in the ring, Christian ate a massive spinebuster, which scored Hobbs the win.

AEW releases 13-match Dark lineup

Powerhouse Hobbs will take on Blake Christian in one of thirteen matches set for Tuesday’s AEW Dark.

Hobbs is still in pursuit of Ricky Starks after his attack on his former partner helped dissolve Team Taz. Christian, recently revealed to be under AEW/ROH contract, will be looking to get some momentum and in the win column.

The rest of the lineup, taped last month at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida, is the usual mix of young prospects and those in a creative holding pattern.

One interesting name in the mix is Kayla Rossi, the former bodyguard of sorts for Joey Janela during the final days of his AEW run. She’ll be in singles action against Avery Breaux in her first promotional singles match.

Here’s the full lineup:

  • Abadon vs. Mafiosa
  • Angelico vs. Baliyan Akki
  • Bear Country vs. Axel Rico & Victor Iniestra
  • Cezar Bononi vs. Marcus Kross
  • Emi Sakura vs. Renee Michelle
  • Kayla Rossi vs. Avery Breaux
  • Charlette Renegade vs. Skye Blue
  • Blake Christian vs. Powerhouse Hobbs
  • Josh Woods vs. Cobra
  • Ari Daivari vs. Fuego Del Sol
  • Rohit Raju vs. Invictus Khash
  • Willow Nightingale vs. Robyn Renegade
  • Brock Anderson vs. Serpentico

AEW Dark results: Orange Cassidy vs. Anthony Henry

Itโ€™s Tuesday and you know what that means.

This week’s AEW Dark was taped in Grand Rapids, Michigan, last Friday with Excalibur and Taz on the call.

The Butcher & The Blade and Private Party defeated Isaiah Broner, James Alexander, Brayden Lee & Sam Moore (2:22)

Private Party hit a gamengiri and poisoned rana combination on Lee while Butcher and Blade finished off Moore with Dredge The Lake to pick up the win.

Anna Jay A.S. (w/ Daniel Garcia, Angelo Parker & Matt Menard) defeated Megan Meyers (1:20)

Jay A.S. won a quick one by grabbing the Queen Slayer out of nowhere and getting a quick tap.

Best Friends (w/ Danhausen) defeated Rohit Raju & Ren Jones (3:28)

Trent Beretta hit a pair of gutbusters on Raju and a stiff clothesline. The half-and-half/soul food combination took out Raju, but Jones interrupted the Best Friends hug with a clothesline. Taylor got Jones up for a crucifix powerbomb, but he tossed Jones to Beretta for a sit-out powerbomb instead. Best Friends finished off Jones with a Strong Zero. Raju protested, so Danhausen gave him a low blow for his troubles. This was a peppy little match.

โ€“ Tony Schiavone interviewed Andrade El Idolo & Rush about the tornado tag match at Quake by the Lake Wednesday. Andrade doesnโ€™t respect anyone but Schiavone because of his earring. That might have been tongue in cheek. Rush is here to destroy every wrestler in this company…except Andrade, of course. He also name dropped Los Ingobernables. This was a fun promo to build to tomorrow and really the kind of thing they should be doing more of on the B and C shows.

Dark Order (Evil Uno & 10) defeated The Wingmen (Peter Avalon & JD Drake) (4:15)

Excalibur hilariously explained how the WorkHorsemen (Drakeโ€™s primary team) are actually a subsidiary of Wingmen Industries (Avalonโ€™s group), the kind of commentary detail which makes Dark so very special.

Drake and Avalon got the jump on Dark Order before the bell and Avalon nearly pinned Uno after a flying splash. 10 got the hot tag from Uno after a missed cannonball from Drake and a hangmanโ€™s neckbreaker.

10 overpowered Avalon with an extreme delayed vertical suplex and a spinebuster. There was a great double-team from Dark Order where 10 grabbed Avalon in a cazadora and Uno snapped his neck on the top rope and into a German suplex. 10 got the pinfall after a discus clothesline on Avalon. He and Uno are turning into a really good powerhouse tag team.

Marina Shafir & Nyla Rose (w/ Vickie Guerrero) defeated Heather Reckless & Joseline Navarro (0:46)

Rose and Shafir treated their opponents โ€œlike an airline that canceled their flight and didnโ€™t rebook them until 9 PM the next day.โ€ Shafir booted Reckless while Rose gave her a spinebuster to get the quick pinfall.

After the match, Guerrero cut a promo asking the fans to stop stuffing their faces with โ€œcheap concessionsโ€ (has she been to a snack bar lately?) and to get off their phones (okay, thatโ€™s fair). Guerrero said all the podcasters and dirt sheets should refer to Guerrero, Rose and Shafir as the Beasts of Burden. Rose then power bombed Reckless onto Navarro.

Kris Statander defeated Sierra (2:16)

Statlander was very over with the Grand Rapids crowd. She hit a great looking powerslam. Sierra dodged a charge in the corner and hit a sliding elbow, but Statlander popped up and delivered a big boot to get the pinfall.

We need to get to Jade Cargill vs. Statlander for the TBS title soon.

The Trustbusters (Ari Daivari, Slim J & Parker Boudreaux) defeated Sonny Kiss, Zack Clayton & Xavier Walker (3:10)

Boudreaux looks like Brock Lesnar if he werenโ€™t in shape. Kiss hit a double handspring elbow on Slim J. Clayton dropped a big elbow on Slim J. Walker (who was much bigger than Slim J) tried a press slam, but Slim J escaped with an eye rake. Slim J and Daivari combined for an assisted sliced bread to get a near fall. Boudreaux got the tag and overpowered Walker. He then drove Walker down with a backdrop suplex and Daivari came in with a frog splash to get the pin.

Sonny Kiss turned his back on the match while his partners got squashed. It looked like Slim J and Boudreaux were going to attack Kiss, but Daivari stopped his partners and said something to Kiss. Maybe a recruitment pitch?

Hikaru Shida, Ruby Soho & Athena defeated Leva Bates, Emi Sakura & Serena Deeb (8:08)

This was the first match on the show that felt like it had star power on both sides of the ring. Deeb outwrestled Soho on the mat early on, and Soho came back with a headbutt and brawling. Shida got the tag and Deeb begged off, tagging in Sakura. Sakura and Shida exchanged tilt-a-whirl back breakers and forearms. Athena and Bates tagged in, and Athena buried a spin kick into Bates’ gut. Soho got a cazadora-assisted splash on Bates for a near fall. Deeb hit a cheap shot on Sohoโ€™s arm, and Bates followed up for the heels to get the advantage.

Deeb was particularly brutal with Soho. Soho fought out of an octopus hold and took Deeb down with a back heel trip. Shida got the hot tag and ran wild on Sakura. Sakura hit a meteora off the top for a near fall, broken up by Bates. Everyone flew in and hit finishers on everyone else. Bates got a near fall on Shida after a thrust kick and a neckbreaker. Bates went for her loaded book, but the referee disarmed her. Shida hit Bates with a springboard gamengiri and the Katana to get the pinfall.

Orange Cassidy defeated Anthony Henry (w/ JD Drake) (6:04)

Cassidy sent Henry to the floor with a dropkick and followed him out with a tope suicida. Drake caught Cassidy behind the refereeโ€™s back with his slingshot uppercut on the floor and Henry got a near fall with a tiger driver. Cassidy went for a spinning DDT, but Henry blocked it and countered with a brainbuster for a near fall.

Henry went to the top, but Cassidy rolled out of the way and under the turnbuckle. Henry went for another suplex, but Cassidy countered with a Slumdog Millionaire and a spinning DDT. Drake got on the apron and ate an Orange Punch, then Cassidy hit Henry with the Beach Break for the pin.

This was a fun match and a fun episode of Dark.
