This week’s AEW Dark matches were taped last Friday at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut.
Danhausen defeated Jon Cruz
Danhausen clotheslined Cruz and trapped him in the corner with boots as the match began. Cruz fought back valiantly and got major heat from the crowd for doing so.
Danhausen eventually regained his composure and sent Cruz flying with a floatover german suplex. Moments later, Danhausen hit Cruz with a modified DDT for a quick victory.
The Embassy (Brian Cage & The Gates Of Agony) defeated Fuego Del Sol and Waves & Curls
Kaun and Del Sol started out, but Toa Liona came in shortly after and planted Trayvon Jordan with a belly-to-belly suplex. Liona then tagged out to Cage, who came in and got nailed with a kick to the head from Jaylen Brandyn.
Team Del Sol got some momentum here as Fuego Del Sol came in and attempted a tornado DDT on Cage. It was reversed, allowing Jordan to come back into the match. Moments later, Liona and Kaun helped Cage hit an assisted Liger Bomb on Jordan for the win.
Nyla Rose (w/ Vickie Guerrero) defeated Leva Bates
Rose struck Bates with a knee to the gut as the bell rang. Bates recovered, but got distracted by Guerrero’s screaming at ringside. This allowed Rose to spear Bates out of nowhere, followed by a Beast Bomb for a quick win.
Dante Martin defeated Encore
Martin locked Encore in a stand and switch as soon as the bell rang. Encore tried to apply an armbar, but it was quickly flipped inside out. Martin followed up that impressive feat with a kick to the midsection. Martin continued to ramp up the energy as he hit a flying crossbody for a near fall. The match ended shortly after with Martin hitting a half and half uranage for the victory.
Interim AEW Women’s Champion Toni Storm defeated Diamante in a non-title match
Storm applied a headlock as the bout kicked off. As the match began to progress, Storm had full control after hitting Diamante with a few strikes and a bulldog. The turn came when Diamante dropkicked Storm out of the ring, allowing her to take control.
Once the match made it back in the ring, Diamante applied a headlock to Storm and tried to wear her down. This would backfire as Storm made her comeback, hitting Diamante with a few variations of suplexes.
As the bout wound down, Storm hit Diamante with a few hip attacks before making her submit with a cloverleaf leglock.
Orange Cassidy & Best Friends (Trent Beretta & Chuck Taylor) defeated The Trustbusters (Ari Daivari & Sonny Kiss) & Tony Deppen
Cassidy outclassed Daivari early on, wrestling circles around him until Deppen tagged himself in. He stomped on the midsection of Cassidy, which prompted Beretta to come in off the tag.
Beretta nailed Deppen with a kick to the head before tagging out to Taylor, who helped Beretta hit a delayed suplex for a near fall. After some commotion between both teams, Cassidy made his way back in the match and started facing off against Kiss. Kiss had Cassidy on the ropes for a moment before the match broke down again.
In the closing stretch, Deppen and Cassidy went at it. Beretta and Taylor helped soften him up before helping Cassidy hit a double chokeslam power bomb combo for the win.
Kip Sabian defeated Dean Alexander
Sabian and Alexander went straight into a fast-paced sequence as the bell rang, but Sabian got the upper hand after cracking Alexander with a kick to the head. This was followed up by a cannonball in the corner. Moments later, Sabian hit his signature brainbuster off the ropes for the victory.
Marina Shafir defeated Kennedi Copeland
Shafir nailed Copeland with a kick to the face as the bell rang. Moments later, Shafir defeated Copeland after submitting her with a guillotine. She will challenge TBS Champion Jade Cargill for the title Wednesday.
Rey Fenix defeated AR Fox
This was insanely paced from the very beginning. Fenix and Fox exchanged a few running maneuvers, but neither man came out on top. Fenix seemingly took control after wringing Fox’s neck with a neckbreaker, but Fox eventually got back into the thick of things by hitting a high dive on the outside of the ring.
Fox followed up with more offense, hitting a twisting brainbuster for a near fall. Both men positioned themselves on the top rope where Fox hit a springboard spanish fly on Fenix. Fox followed up with a 450 splash for another near fall.
As the match wound down, Fenix hit a rotating muscle buster on Fox to secure the win.
Tuesday’s AEW Dark will feature the interim AEW Women’s Champion in action in addition to a highly-anticipated match featuring an AEW Trios Champion.
Rey Fenix, who is 1/3 of the Trios titleholders, will take on AR Fox in one of the night’s featured matches. While this is their first clash in AEW, the two have battled multiple times on the indies in tag team action. This will be their third-ever singles match with the first happening in October 2016 for AAW.
Toni Storm will face Diamante in non-title action that is also not a title eliminator bout. The interim champion is looking to continue her winning streak as she awaits her assignment for this month’s Full Gear.
Former ROH TV Champion Tony Deppen will make his third appearance in an AEW ring as he teams with The TrustBusters’ Ari Daivari & Sonny Kiss against Orange Cassidy and Best Friends.

This week’s AEW Dark was a hybrid of matches taped in Toronto nearly two weeks ago and Jacksonville, Florida, last Friday. I was in attendance live for the Toronto matches, so I added a few notes below.
Lance Archer defeated Iseah Brown (3:39)
Archer dragged an already beaten up Brown down to the ring during his entrance. He teased tossing his t-shirt into the crowd, but chucked it down instead.
Brown caught Archer off guard with a flying knee strike as the match started, but Archer squashed him after that and won easily after hitting the Blackout. The crowd was fairly quiet for the match. They didn’t show it on the broadcast, but after the match, Archer teased giving his shirt to a young fan in the front row but took it back.
Zack Clayton defeated Shane Saber (3:57)
Saber is an Ontario native, so the crowd did cheer for him a bit but this was another short, one-sided match that Clayton won with a fisherman’s buster. I must have been getting a beer because I don’t remember this at all live.
Athena defeated Alexia Nicole (2:51)
This was Nicole’s AEW debut. Another local, she was pretty recognizable to a bunch of the Toronto fans, enough of whom wanted her to win. In fact, Athena was booed when she cut off Nicole’s offense and she even apologized to the crowd for hitting a move. Athena got the win after a boot and lung blower/gut buster.
After the match, Athena held up Nicole’s hand to get cheered by the crowd. Nicole was gracious and left the ring so Athena could celebrate the win.
Danhausen defeated James Stone (2:18)
This was Stone’s AEW debut and was booed by virtue of not being Danhausen. He stomped a mudhole in Stone as soon as the match started. Stone cut him off with a clothesline, but Danhausen picked up a fairly decisive submission win with an octopus stretch.
Excalibur played it up like we saw a more aggressive side of Danhausen once the bell rang.
Aaron Solo (w/ QT Marshall) defeated Serpentico (w/ Luther) (5:13)
Luther wore a Canadian flag as a cape.
Solo had Dasha Gonzalez inform the crowd that QT Marshall would not be with him at ringside which the crowd cheered. Marshall entered anyway moments later and the crowd loudly booed. He was all over this Dark taping and got tons of heat. He was great at playing it up.
Serpentico hit a thrust kick, a low DDT, and a suicide dive. He distracted the referee as Luther gave Solo a vertical suplex outside the ring — a receipt for Marshall booting Serpentico a little earlier. Serpentico also hit a senton bomb for a near fall.
Marshall decked Luther from behind and the distraction allowed Solo to hit a corkscrew kick for the pinfall win, assisted by Marshall from the outside of the ring.
Riho defeated Jungle Kyona (5:20)
This was Kyona’s AEW debut, but Excalibur spoke about the history between these two in Japan.
Riho got a couple of two counts after a tiger feint kick and northern lights suplex. Kyona avoided a double foot stomp and decked Riho with a forearm. Kyona applied a guillotine and turned it into a suplex before hitting a sliding lariat for two.
Riho hit a knee strike and double foot stomp, but only got a two count. She followed up quickly with a running double knee strike for the pinfall win. This was pretty good for the time they had.
Riho will take on Jamie Hayter on tomorrow’s Dynamite.
Lucha Brothers (w/ Alex Abrahantes) defeated The WorkHorsemen (2:55)
They plugged Penta’s world title match against Jon Moxley on tomorrow’s Dynamite.
JD Drake and Anthony Henry did get some offense in, but Penta and Rey Fenix won fairly quickly with an assisted package piledriver as Penta pinned Henry. The Jacksonville crowd liked the Lucha Brothers.
There were dueling chants of “Let’s go Rick” and “QT sucks” and the crowd also sang “Oh, QT’s an assh*le” after Marshall and Solo took cheap shots at Starks.
Comoroto was in control for a bit thanks to the inference, but Starks came back and hit a tornado DDT. Solo distracted Starks again, allowing Comoroto to hit a spinebuster for two. Comoroto tried a cradle while holding the middle rope, but the referee caught him.
Starks, popular with the Toronto crowd, followed with a crucifix bomb and spear. He booted Solo off the apron and superkicked Marshall. Comoroto hit an Alabama Slam as he re-entered the ring for a near fall. The ref chose that moment to toss Marshall and Solo from ringside and the crowd popped.
Starks later hit a sit-out powerbomb for the pinfall win, adding in a post-match spear speared for good measure.
Former AEW Tag Team Champions The Lucha Brothers will be in action on Tuesday’s edition of Dark against The WorkHorsemen.
It will be the last stop before Penta El Zero Miedo challenges AEW World Champion Jon Moxley for the title on Wednesday’s Dynamite. This will be the first time he & Rey Fenix have faced the unit of JD Drake & Anthony Henry.
This week’s nine-match lineup will be a hybrid of action taped in Jacksonville, Florida, last Friday and in Toronto, Canada, nearly two weeks ago.
Other matches of note:
Ricky Starks will be in action for the first time since a quick Dynamite win in late-September as he faces Nick Comoroto of The Factory.
Ahead of her match with Jamie Hayter Wednesday, former AEW Women’s Champion Riho will take on Jungle Kyona.
After her somewhat controversial win over Jody Threat last week due to the physicality, Athena will face Alexia Nicole in another match taped in Toronto.
Here’s the full nine-match lineup:
Lucha Brothers vs. The WorkHorsemen
Aaron Solo vs. Serpentico
Danhausen vs. James Stone
Serena Deeb & Emi Sakura vs. KC Spinelli & Taylor Rising
The Gunns (w/ W Morrissey) defeated BK Klein & Jarett Diaz

The Factory’s QT Marshall & Cole Karter defeated The Blonds (the former Varsity Blonds)
Anna Jay A.S. defeated Sio Nieves

Matt Sydal & Dante Martin defeated SB KENTo & La Estrella from Dragon Gate
Riho defeated Jungle Kyona
Lucha Brothers (w/ Alex Abrahantes) defeated The WorkHorsemen
Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta defeated The Wingmen (Ryan Nemeth & Cezar Bononi)
This week’s AEW Dark debuted early due to AEW Dynamite airing live Tuesday, taped last week in Toronto, Canada, prior to Rampage.
Hikaru Shida defeated Vanessa Kraven
Kraven outpowered Shida from the get go, backing her into the corner and delivering a few blows to the body. The match poured to the outside where Shida attempted her signature running knee strike with the chair assist, but Kraven caught her in mid-air and dropped her on the apron.
As the match made it back in the ring, Shida began to fight back by using her striking abilities. She then delivered a running knee strike to Kraven for the win ahead of her challenge of interim AEW Women’s Champion Toni Storm Tuesday.
Dark Order (Evil Uno, John Silver, Alex Reynolds & 10) defeated Tyler Tirva, Shayne Hawke, Zak Patterson & Jordano
Reynolds was on the attack early on, delivering a flurry of strikes to Patterson before tagging out to Silver. Hawke was in next along with 10, but he was flattened instantly. Tirva was next up and got stomped on by Evil Uno for his trouble. Uno followed that up with a suplex on Hawke as the Dark Order was in full control.
Hawke remained the focus for Dark Order as Silver caved in his chest with a few kicks. Jordano came in and threw Silver around for a minute before Uno came back in and delivered a boot. Uno then went to the top rope and hit a senton on Jordano, but he failed to make the pin.
Hawke took advantage and came back in, but Silver and Reynolds were waiting in the wings, hitting him with their array of double team maneuvers. Evil Uno followed up with a rotating face slam for the victory.
Eddie Kingston & Ortiz defeated Mo Jabari & Jake O’Reilly
Ortiz wasted no time early, hitting Jabari with a gutwrench suplex before clawing his back. Kingston came in shortly after and blasted Jabari with a few of his signature chops that echoed throughout the arena.
O’Reilly entered and Kingston began chopping him instantly. Kingston then positioned him over his knee, allowing Ortiz to come off the top rope with a leg drop. Moments later, Ortiz hit O’Reilly with a fisherman’s suplex which got his team the win.
Best Friends (AEW All-Atlantic Champion Orange Cassidy, Chuck Taylor & Trent Beretta) defeated Kobe Durst, Steven Mainz & Jessie V
Beretta took down Durst with a side headlock to start. After nailing Durst with a elbow, Taylor came in and had a small sequence with Mainz, which resulted in Beretta getting back in the match and nailing Jessie V with a half and half suplex.
Cassidy entered and delivered three Orange Punches immediately with Mainz being the recipient of the final one. Moments later, Cassidy pinned Mainz for the win. They challenge Death Triangle for the AEW Trios titles Tuesday night.
Ari Daivari (w/ Sonny Kiss) defeated Brandon Cutler
Daivari nailed Cutler with a flurry of kicks as the bell rang. Cutler fought back and hit a rolling splash for a two count. Cutler, who was playing up to the crowd, got sent to the outside by Daivari, which allowed Kiss to cave his head in with a roundhouse kick. Daivari continued to beat down Cutler until Cutler made his comeback, which included a dab elbow drop for a near fall.
In the final moments, Cutler went to the top rope. When Kiss tried to knock him down, Cutler sprayed Kiss in the face with the cold spray. While the referee was distracted, Daivari smashed Cutler in the head with the can before nailing him with a stiff arm clothesline for the win.
Daivari cut a promo after the match and claimed that he was going to take the FTW Championship from Hook personally. The champion then came out, walked around the ring, and then walked backstage. They square off for the title Friday on Rampage.
Willow Nightingale defeated Seleziya Sparx
Nightingale hit a diving crossbody moments after the bell rang for a near fall. Sparx tried to fight back with a few stiff strikes, but Nightingale planted her with a spinebuster, much to the pleasure of the crowd. Moments later, she hit a doctor bomb for the win.
Marshall picked up Martin and slammed him down with ease as the bout began. Marshall eventually rolled to the outside, grabbed a mic, and told the crowd that they’ll never get to see him wrestle again.
Marshall rolled back in the ring and applied a headlock, but Martin fought out of it with his acrobatics. Martin continued the good fight and nailed Marshall with a rotating slam to the mat for a near fall. Marshall then took back control and tried to position Martin for a avalanche Diamond Cutter, but Martin reversed it into a reverse hurricanrana that sent Marshall rolling to the outside.
Martin followed up with a springboard dive to the outside. When Marshall rolled back in the ring, Martin attempted another springboard move, but Marshall was ready for an attempted diamond cutter. This ultimately failed, causing Marshall to hit the canvas. Moments later, Martin trapped Marshall in a backslide pin for the victory.
This week’s AEW Dark was taped last week in Washington, DC.
Lance Archer defeated Alec Odin
Odin celebrated on the middle turnbuckle when the bell rang which made Archer upset. Archer then bulldozed him with a clothesline, much to the appeasement of the crowd. Odin would go on to fight out of a chokeslam, but eventually fell victim to the Blackout moments later.
Deeb hammered away at Blake’s chest at the onset until Blade entered the fray. This led to Hayter tagging in and delivering a suplex that sent her across the ring. Ford came in and gouged Blade’s eyes which prompted Adora to make her way into the bout.
Ford hit her signature handspring back elbow on Adora, which sent her straight to the mat. Deeb motioned to submit Adora with the Serenity Lock moments later.
Shida and Shafir locked up numerous times before Shida got the upper hand with a knee lift on the outside. This was quickly followed by Rose distracting Shida, which allowed Shafir to wrap her legs around her head and take advantage.
While Shafir continued to dominate, Shida slowly found her groove back and eventually took down “The Problem” with a shoulder tackle. Shida followed up with a knee strike to the back of Shafir’s head. Moments later, the former AEW Women’s Champion hit her signature Katana move for the win following a near fall off a falcon arrow.
Brian Cage (w/ Prince Nana) defeated Papadon
Cage was delivering stiff strikes until the latter threw Cage out of the ring and attempted a dive. Instead of hitting the dive, Papadon ran right into a step-up kick. Cage continued to be on the attack, hitting a powerslam for a near fall.
Papadon got some offense in at the end, hitting an uppercut from the middle rope for a near fall. It would amount to nothing though as Cage hit Papadon with a Drill Claw to secure the victory.
– “The Reality” Zack Clayton cut a promo announcing that he’s officially signed with AEW.
Athena defeated Gia Scott
Athena locked in a headlock as the match hit the canvas early. Scott eventually made her way to her feet and planted Athena with a great looking flatliner. Scott followed up with a spinebuster that warranted a very close near fall.
Athena fought back and hit a thrust kick, followed by a big boot. She followed a recovering Scott to the outside and sent her into the barricade with a shotgun dropkick. Moments later, she hit the O-Face for pinfall victory.
Marshall and Andretti exchanged headlocks before Andretti took him out with a leaping clothesline. Marshall tried to stop him from gaining momentum, but Andretti kept speeding up the pace, which eventually led to a dropkick.
Andretti kept going and eventually planted Marshall with a satellite DDT followed by a standing shooting star press for a near fall. This was followed up by a combination of a superkick and a split legged moonsault that got a pin attempt Marshall kicked out of.
Marshall would go on to try to score a pin with his feet on the ropes, but referee Paul Turner caught him in the act. As a last gasp, Andretti tried to hit a springboard move, but Marshall plucked him out of thin air and hit a diamond cutter for the win.
ROH Six-Man Tag Team Champions Dalton Castle & The Boys (Brandon & Brent Tate) defeated Joe Keys, Josh Fuller & BK Klein in a non-title match
Castle wasn’t in the match for long with Keys before he tagged out to Brent. Brent clotheslined Fuller when he came in the match, but Castle came in after that. Castle then began a sequence where he began to throw Brandon and Brent out of the ring onto the opposing team repeatedly. Moments later, Castle hit the Bangarang on Fuller to wrap another win for the champs.
Kip Sabian defeated Brandon Cutler
Sabian clocked Cutler with a strike early on that sent him to floor. Sabian then rolled Cutler back in the ring and charged him in the corner with a cannonball. After some more back and forth, Sabian tossed Cutler’s can of cold spray in the air, which distracted him and allowed Sabian to crack him with a headbutt. This was followed up by Sabian’s signature hanging neckbreaker which scored him the win.
– Action Andretti cut a promo thanking the fans and saying he’ll be back in AEW.
Toni Storm defeated Emi Sakura in an interim AEW Women’s title eliminator match
Storm and Sakura had an excellent back and forth at first with Storm coming out with the advantage after taking Sakura out with a shoulderblock and a dropkick. When the match spilled to the outside, Sakura took control by ramming Storm into the apron back first.
The match continued in the ring with Sakura in control, using her slow and methodical style. After many attempts to get back in the match, Storm was able to nail Sakura with a German suplex, followed by a high boot to the face.
Sakura wasn’t done as she had a burst of offense that featured a splash to Storm’s back followed by her signature backbreaker. After Storm kicked out of a pin attempt, she sprung back to her feet and destroyed Sakura in the corner with a hip attack. After that, Storm delivered a Storm Zero to nab the victory.
Dante Martin & Matt Sydal defeated The Factory’s Cole Karter & Aaron Solo
This was chaos from the beginning as Sydal and Martin hit aerial maneuvers on Karter and Solo as the bell rang. Once the dust settled, Sydal had full control of Karter and it seemed like the match was going to wrap up quick. Karter eventually made a tag to Solo who was able to shut down Sydal’s offense quickly and tire him out.
Eventually, Martin made the hot tag and went flying around the ring. Martin hit a standing frog splash on Solo before diving onto Karter at ringside, all before going back to the top rope and nailing Solo with a top rope dropkick. Karter entered and tried to turn things around, but he was ultimately met with a Nosedive from Martin which got he and Sydal the win.
A future shot at interim AEW Women’s Champion Toni Storm will be on the line as Emi Sakura challenges Storm on Tuesday’s 10-match AEW Dark.
If Sakura can best Storm on Tuesday, she will earn a title shot down the line.
ROH Six-Man Tag Team Champions Dalton Castle & The Boys will again be in action, taking on the team of Joe Keys, Josh Fuller and BK Klein. The champions picked up another victory on Monday’s Dark: Elevation.
In another featured match, former AEW Women’s Champion Hikaru Shida will take on former title challenger Marina Shafir.
Brandon Cutler will look for his second straight win as he faces Kip Sabian.
Here’s the rest of Tuesday’s lineup, taped last week in Washington, DC:

AEW interim Women’s Champion Toni Storm defeated Emi Sakura. It’s unknown if this was a title match.
Dante Martin & Matt Sydal defeated The Factory’s Aaron Solo & Cole Karter
After making some spot appearances at both Ring of Honor pay-per-views, Cage has competed in several AEW matches as of late, losing to TNT Champion Wardlow this past Wednesday.
Castle & The Boys were also on last week’s episode of Dark: Elevation, picking up a victory in a title defense.
The ten matches on this week’s AEW Dark were taped at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida, in August.
Marina Shafir defeated Sio Nieves
Shafir was on the receiving end of a headlock from Nieves early on, but “The Problem” was able to reverse it quickly. Shafir then planted Nieves with a back body drop before locking her in her signature arm/leg combination submission for the quick tapout.
Ari Daivari (w/ The Trustbusters) defeated AR Fox
Daivari controlled the bout early on, but Fox began to dig into his high flying toolbox in his second AEW outing. This led to Fox doing a moonsault off the middle of the ring post onto Daivari. This would turn out to be bad for Fox as Parker Boudreaux attacked him when Daivari was distracting the ref.
The match eventually made it back in the ring where Daivari worked down Fox with a headlock. This allowed the crowd to get behind Fox, who had a comeback sequence where he did a cool kip-up kick to the head. Fox then tried to go to the top rope, but Daivari chopped him down.
Slim J tried to get in the ring which distracted both Fox and the referee. This led to Daivari hitting a low blow on Fox, followed by a short arm clothesline and the pin.
Tony Nese & Josh Woods defeated Rohit Raju & Invictus Khash
Nese and Khash started out and Khash instantly matched the intensity of Nese, but “The Premier Athlete” was unphased and retorted by doing jumping jacks.
Moments later, Nese took out Raju on the outside. This led to Woods and Nese hitting their assisted neckbreaker slam on Khash for the win.
Abadon defeated Freya States
The match spilled to the outside early. States was able to take advantage of a running Abadon, catching her in a face plant into the steel steps. States looked to be in full control until Abadon snapped back into form and hit her signature Black Delilah move for yet another win.
Slim J (w/ The Trustbusters) defeated Blake Christian
Slim J controlled Christian with a wristlock early on until Christian was able to bounce out of it. Christian followed the impressive maneuver up with a wristlock of his own — one that Slim J eventually got out of.
Slim J kept bending the rules, hitting Christian in the groin when the referee was distracted. This also led to multiple members of The Trustbusters getting involved with the match.
Christian wasn’t down for the count as he eventually regained his composure and hit a frog splash to J’s back. This was followed up by an attempt at a top rope maneuver, but Kiss got involved again. Christian then missed a dive which led to J hitting a flatliner. Slim J followed that up with a neck crank which made Christian submit.
The Wingmen (Ryan Nemeth & Cezar Bononi) defeated Eli Isom & Chris Farrow
Bononi and Farrow started out and Bononi chucked Farrow across the ring, but not before he made a blind tag to Isom. Isom came in and got some offense in, but it wouldn’t matter as Bononi continued his dominance and hit Farrow with a brutal transition neckbreaker. Shortly after, Nemeth hit his own neckbreaker for the successful three count.
Parker Boudreaux defeated Terry Kid
Boudreaux charged Kid in the corner seconds after the bell rang. Kid was then thrown around the ring a few times before eating a chokeslam. Moments later, Boudreaux hit a running splash for the win.
Skye Blue defeated Robyn Renegade (w/ Charlette Renegade)
Earlier in the night, the Renegade Twins were interviewed backstage and denied accusations of cheating.
Blue was assaulted by Renegade during her entrance which coincided with the bell ringing. Renegade maintained control for a few moments as she delivered chops before following up with a backstabber.
Blue kept trying to make attempts to get back in the match, finally succeeding after hitting a running high knee. This was followed by Skyefall which scored her the win.
Iron Savages (w/ JT Davidson) defeated Vary Morales & Levy Valenzuela
Earlier backstage, Lexy Nair interviewed the Savages and Davidson. Their manager put the entire tag team locker room on notice, saying that the Savages are coming to wreck everyone.
Bear Bronson wasted no time, taking down Morales with ease early on. This led to Bronson tagging out to Bear Boulder, who threw Morales across the entire ring.
Valenzuela came in and delivered a flurry of forearm strikes to Boulder, but Bronson came in and changed the odds yet again. Valenzuela was taken out by a double facebuster, which meant that Morales was solely on the receiving end of the Savages’ running double cannonball which ultimately spelled defeat for Morales.
Dante Martin & Matt Sydal defeated The WorkHorsemen
This came out of last week’s Dark when Sydal defeated Drake. Drake and Anthony Henry then attacked Sydal before Martin ran out for the save and then challenged the two to a match.
This match was chaos from the beginning with both teams spilling to the outside. Martin avoided JD Drake’s signature rebound clothesline and turned it into a tornado dive onto both of the WorkHorsemen.
The match eventually resumed in the ring with Sydal being the target of Drake and Henry. Both men took turns wearing down Sydal with Henry more focusing on submissions. When Sydal got an opportunity for a tag, Henry was right there at ringside to pull Martin off the apron and spike him with a piledriver on the floor.
When The WorkHorsemen attempted to do a double team move, Sydal escaped their grip and made the hot tag to Martin. Martin exploded off of the ropes and immediately took out both Drake and Henry with a crossbody.
Martin’s momentum didn’t last for too long as The WorkHorsemen began to work in stereo again. Henry hit his signature running knee strike in the corner but when Drake when up for the moonsault, Sydal sprung out of nowhere and took out both men. Sydal then planted Drake with a roundhouse kick before Martin a Nosedive for the victory to end this week’s show.
Ten matches filmed from the tapings on August 21 from Orlando’s Universal Studios will air on the show.
Notable matches set for Tuesday’s episode include Dante Martin & Matt Sydal vs. The Workhorsemen, Marina Shafir vs. Sio Nieves, and Skye Blue vs. Robyn Renegade. There will also be three matches featuring members of the Trustbusters stable including Slim J vs. Blake Christian, Parker Boudreaux vs. Terry Kid, and Ari Daivari vs. AR Fox.
Tony Nese & Josh Woods, Ryan Nemeth & Cezar Bononi, Abadon, and the Iron Savages are all scheduled for the show as well.
AEW Dark airs at 7 p.m Eastern time on YouTube. The advertised lineup is as follows:
Slim J vs. Blake Christian

This week’s AEW Dark featured matches taped last month at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida.
Fuego Del Sol defeated Jay Malachi
Sol started off in firm control, delivering a series of chops and takedowns. Sol looked like he was going to score the victory until Malachi stopped his momentum with a poke to the eye. Malachi was able to get in a few moves, specifically targeting the back of Sol.
Sol eventually regained control by hitting a double foot stomp on Malachi’s back from the top rope. Moments later, Sol delivered his signature tornado DDT for the win.
Leila Grey defeated Tiara James
Grey took down James with a headlock early on, controlling her with ease. Grey celebrated and played to the crowd before trying to suplex James which got reversed. She would follow up with a running splash for a near fall on the Baddies member. Shortly after, Grey scored the win after hitting a facebuster.
Jeeves Kay (w/ The Trustbusters) defeated Gus De La Vega
This was the debut for the new Kay character in AEW as he previously went by his indie name of VSK. Vega brought the action as the match began, delivering a few combination strikes. His momentum didn’t last for long as Kay yanked him by the ear to the corner. After a few corner strikes, Kay lifted up Vega for a falcon arrow, which scored him the victory.
Jora Johl defeated Blake Li
Johl escaped out of Li’s attempts at a waist lock with ease as the match began to get in rhythm. Li then proceeded to roll up Johl on two separate occasions with both attempts scoring two counts.
Li and Johl began to trade strikes, but it didn’t last long as Johl eventually nailed Li with a Sheamus-esque pump kick and pin for the win.
Anna Jay A.S. defeated Kelly Madan
Jay delivered a gut kick as the bell rang, allowing her to take control of the bout from the get go. Jay followed this up with a spinning leg attack in the corner before dragging Madan to the center of the ring where she submitted her with the Queen Slayer for the victory.
Ryan Nemeth defeated Arjun Singh
Nemeth attacked Singh as the bell rang. There wasn’t a moment in the match where Singh had any control as Nemeth dominated for about 90 seconds before hitting his signature neckbreaker for the pin.
Leon Ruffin defeated Bshp King
King lifted up Ruffin for a power move early, but Ruffin countered into a sleeper hold. King again tried for a powerslam and succeeded, only warranting a near fall.
After a near fall, Ruffin hit a quick cutter and ran to the corner before springing into a crucifix bomb that got him the win.
Angelico defeated Caleb Konley
This started off very fast with Konley surprisingly getting an upper hand after nailing Angelico with a few takedowns. The former Impact star’s luck would soon run out as Angelico threw him crotch-first on the ropes before he spilled to the outside.
Once Konley recovered, he didn’t pull any punches as he engaged in a brutal striking war with Angelico. Angelico would eventually lift up Konley in a backbreaker-type submission which forced Konley to submit quickly.
The twins (Charlette & Robyn) jumped Moore and Mylo as the bell rang. Charlette lifted Moore up in a spinebuster position, allowing Robyn to come off the ropes and hit a neckbreaker that led to an extremely quick pinfall victory.
Nick Comoroto defeated Shaheem Ali
Ali tried to hit a crossbody dive on Comoroto after he rolled out of the ring, but Comoroto caught him and threw him spine first into the apron. Comoroto followed up with an Alabama Slam for another quick win.
Dante Martin defeated Anthony Henry
Martin and Henry exchanged standing switches early on before Martin tried to hit Henry with a kick to the head. Instead, Henry dodged and tossed Martin out of the ring which led to Martin being dropped back first on the apron.
Martin tried to get back in the match with a sunset flip, but he jumped too high and Henry turned that into a stomp to the arm. Henry followed that up with some more limb work while also playing up to the crowd.
Martin eventually hit a clutch diving crossbody to get himself back in the bout. Martin followed up with a spinning twister to the outside, but that didn’t stop Henry from responding with a pump suplex just moments later.
Things got dicey in the final stages of the match as the two exchanged a few pinfalls that were very close to being three. Martin eventually found an opening for the Nose Dive which got him the pinfall win.
After the match, JD Drake ran down and put the boots to Martin before Matt Sydal came out to run off both WorkHorsemen.
That led to the following promo which set up a tag team match for next Tuesday’s Dark.
