AEW has announced their weekend schedule ahead of Saturday’s All Out event.
The weekend will start with a special edition of AEW Dark that will take place on Friday on YouTube.
On Saturday, the first part of the All Out Red Carpet special will take place at 5 p.m. ET on YouTube. On TNT, the Countdown to All Out special will air at 5:30 p.m. ET. The second part of the Red Carpet special will then air on YouTube at 6:30 p.m. ET.
The Buy In pre-show, which will feature a tooth or nail match between Big Swole and Britt Baker, will start at 7 p.m. ET on pay-per-view. The All Out event will then start an hour later, also on pay-per-view.
The final card for AEW All Out is as follows:
Jon Moxley vs. MJF for the AEW World title
Chris Jericho vs. Orange Cassidy in a Mimosa Mayhem match
Kenny Omega & Adam Page vs. FTR for the AEW World Tag Team titles
Hikaru Shida vs. Thunder Rosa for the AEW Women’s title
A 21-man Casino Battle Royal match for a future AEW World title match
The Dark Order (Brodie Lee, Colt Cabana, Evil Uno, and Stu Grayson) vs. Matt Cardona, Scorpio Sky, and the Natural Nightmares in an eight-man tag team match
Jurassic Express vs. The Young Bucks
Matt Hardy vs. Sammy Guevara in a Broken Rules match
A feud that has been building for months will finally reach its boiling point Saturday as Britt Baker and Big Swole will go one-on-one on the AEW All Out Buy In pre-show this Saturday.
However, a stipulation was added on Wednesday’s Dynamite as it’s now a “Tooth and Nail” match but what that entails wasn’t explained.
Baker and Reba attacked Swole on Dynamite, jumping her from behind and clamping on the Lockjaw while rubbing pizza in her face.
Baker has been out of action since May when she injured her knee during a tag team match on Dynamite, suffering a partial LCL tear, an interior tibia fracture, and a small tendon tear. Despite the injury, she has been a wheelchair-bound fixture on Dynamite throughout her recovery.
That match joins a card that also includes:
AEW World Champion Jon Moxley vs. MJF
AEW World Tag Team Champions Kenny Omega and Hangman Page vs. FTR
AEW Women’s Champion Hikaru Shida vs. NWA Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa
Chris Jericho vs. Orange Cassidy in a Mimosa Mayhem match
Young Bucks vs. Jurassic Express
21-man Casino Battle Royale for an AEW World title shot
Matt Hardy vs. Sammy Guevara in a Broken Rules match
Dark Order (TNT Champion Mr. Brodie Lee, Colt Cabana, Evil Uno and Stu Grayson) vs. The Natural Nightmares (Dustin Rhodes and QT Marshall), Scorpio Sky and Matt Cardona
As a result of their win on AEW Dynamite Wednesday, the Young Bucks will face Jurassic Express on Saturday’s All Out pay-per-view.
The Bucks teamed with the Express to take on Private Party and SCU with the stipulation that the winning team members would square off on the PPV. The Bucks got the win for their foursome after the BTE Trigger on Quen got the win.
Afterward, the Bucks didn’t stick around to make nice with the Express and were being pushed on commentary as upset after Hangman Page cost them a chance to compete for the AEW Tag Team Titles at All Out.
This will be the first time the two teams have faced each other in a traditional tag team match in AEW.
That match helps round out a card that includes:
AEW World Champion Jon Moxley vs. MJF
AEW World Tag Team Champions Kenny Omega and Hangman Page vs. FTR
AEW Women’s Champion Hikaru Shida vs. NWA Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa
Chris Jericho vs. Orange Cassidy in a Mimosa Mayhem match
21-man Casino Battle Royale for an AEW World title shot
Matt Hardy vs. Sammy Guevara in a Broken Rules match
Dark Order (TNT Champion Mr. Brodie Lee, Colt Cabana, Evil Uno and Stu Grayson) vs. The Natural Nightmares (Dustin Rhodes and QT Marshall), Scorpio Sky and Matt Cardona
Tonight’s AEW Dynamite serves as the go-home show for Saturday’s All Out PPV.
AEW World Champion Jon Moxley will face MJF’s lawyer, Mark Sterling. If Sterling no-shows, MJF will forfeit his All Out title shot against Moxley.
Chris Jericho will face Joey Janela this evening. Jericho is scheduled to face Orange Cassidy in a Mimosa Mayhem match at All Out. Last week’s Dynamite ended with Jericho and Cassidy brawling.
Best Friends will face Santana and Ortiz in a tag match. This feud began when Santana and Ortiz vandalized Trent’s mother’s van.
The Young Bucks and Jurassic Express will face SCU and Private Party in an eight-man tag. The winning side will face each other in a tag match at All Out.
Thunder Rosa will be in action against Serena Deeb on tonight’s show. Rosa is set to take on Hikaru Shida at All Out for the AEW Women’s World Championship.
Our live coverage begins at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

Excalibur, Jim Ross and Tony Schiavone were the broadcast team.

Santana & Ortiz defeated Best Friends
This was a fun brawl to open the show.
Best Friends jumped Santana and Ortiz as they entered. The teams brawled around ringside. Taylor got launched off the stage on to a pile of chairs and was down for several minutes.
Trent and Santana began the match as the legal men. Trent hit a tope suicida to Ortiz but missed a spear on Santana and ran into the barricade.
Taylor got a hot tag and hit a tope con giro to both Santana and Ortiz. Taylor used sole food for a near fall on Santana and a sunset flip for another two count.
Trent tagged in and got speared off the apron onto the ring steps. Santana and Ortiz went for a Street Sweeper but Santana got pulled off the apron by Taylor. Trent hit a Crunchie on Ortiz but Santana placed Ortiz’s arm on the ropes to force a break.
Santana used a baton and hit Trent in the back. Santana and Ortiz hit the Street Sweeper and Santana pinned Trent.
**********
MJF was backstage. Lee Johnson told him that Mark Sterling had locked himself in the locker room and was refusing to come out.
Wardlow kicked the door in and MJF cut a promo on Sterling. He threatened Sterling and insisted that he show up for the match with Moxley tonight.
**********
The Young Bucks & Jurassic Express defeated SCU and Private Party
This was another very good match. The tag matches on this show of late have been excellent.
Kazarian and Jungle Boy began with a hot exchange, trading one counts. Matt tagged in and got cut off by Private Party. Kassidy hit a springboard tijeras and Matt rolled outside. A fan taunted Matt with a Hangman sign. Matt poured the fan’s beer over his head.
Daniels tagged in and got cut off by Matt and Nick. Daniels made his own comeback. Kazarian and Jungle Boy tagged back in. Kazarian hit a leg slice on Nick on the apron.
Kaz brought Nick in with a slingshot cutter. Daniels hit a moonsault to the floor on both Bucks while Kaz continued working on Jungle Boy inside.
Private Party hit a tandem facebuster on Jungle Boy. Daniels tagged in and continued working Jungle Boy over. SCU and Private Party worked on Jungle Boy through a commercial break.
Kassidy and Daniels accidentally ran into each other allowing Jungle Boy to make a hot tag to Luchasaurus. Luchasaurus ran wild with kicks and a moonsault off the apron.
Luchasaurus and Matt hit stereo standing moonsaults followed by stereo top rope splashes from Nick and Jungle Boy. Jungle Boy tagged back in and got cut off yet again.
Matt accidentally hit a superkick on Jungle Boy. Kassidy hit a senton atomico for a near fall. Everyone hopped in for a big move. Jungle Boy hit a tope suicida to Daniels, Kassidy and Kaz. Luchasaurus hit a Tail Whip on Quen.
Matt blind tagged in. The Bucks hit the BTE Trigger on Quen and pinned him.
**********
Jake Hager was backstage in Orange Cassidy’s locker room. Hager told Cassidy that Jericho wants him ringside for Jericho’s match tonight and it would be smart of him to be there.
**********
Tully Blanchard gave FTR a pep talk backstage.
Dax and Cash cut a promo and said winning the tag match at All Out would make a seven-figure difference in their annual income and they’re going to win no matter how much they like and respect Hangman.
**********
Tony Schiavone was in the ring and called out Kenny Omega for a promo. Omega entered wearing a Hana Kimura tribute shirt.
Schiavone asked Omega about Page’s actions last week. Omega said that everyone makes mistakes and Page got taken in by the FTR cockroaches. Omega said everyone lives and learns and at All Out, FTR will fall to Omega and Page.
FTR and Blanchard came to the ring. FTR offered Omega a chocolate milk from their cooler. Omega called FTR something that got bleeped out and said that if they were going to fight they should get it over with.
Page entered. FTR told Page to tell Omega that they hadn’t gotten to Page to make him turn on the Bucks, but Page did it himself. They had a staredown. FTR begged off. Page stood in the ring by himself. Omega stood by himself on the floor.
Someone is turning on someone soon. This was supposed to add intrigue to that situation. It didn’t for me.
**********
Alex Marvez interviewed Jericho. Jericho made a joke about Marvez never kissing a woman again. Jericho said he’s made Cassidy a bigger star, he’s shown his mean streak, he’s shown he can cut a promo, but at All Out he’s going to put a bullet in him.
Jericho warned Joey Janela and said he’s going to be a sacrifice tonight.
**********
Chris Jericho (w/Jake Hager) defeated Joey Janela
Jericho won a squash with the Liontamer.
**********
Jericho exposed a buckle after the match and sent Janela into it. Janela was bloodied. Jericho wiped the blood on his Orange Cassidy shirt and threw the shirt at Cassidy. Cassidy jumped into the ring and went after Jericho.
Hager blocked Cassidy and started beating him down. Sonny Kiss ran in and hit Jericho with a forearm. Hager left the ring to check on Jericho.
Cassidy posed with a bottle of bubbly while Jericho and Hager looked on from the floor. Jericho promised to show Cassidy that he is the better man.
**********
Sammy Guevara and Matt Hardy sent each other dueling cue card messages about their match on Saturday during a commercial break. Hardy stood on top an entrance tunnel while Guevara stood on the stage.
These poor guys. They got a seven minute table match with a commercial break last week and this week their angle was during a commercial break. It certainly doesn’t feel like Matt’s career being on the line is a big deal.
**********
Team Taz came to the ring to cut a promo. Taz promised that one of his guys will win the Casino Battle Royale on Saturday.
Jake Roberts and Lance Archer entered. Roberts said this was tit for tat and he was interrupting Taz because Taz did the same to him last week. Roberts made some very strange sexual references in his promo about Team Taz being losers.
Eddie Kingston and his faction came out. Kingston totally owned Jake in a promo and said Archer is tough but not as tough as Kingston.
Darby Allin’s music hit, then everyone involved in the battle royale made their way to the ring and began brawling. They brawled through a commercial break.
**********
The announce team threw to a video package for the Dark Order vs. Cardona, Natural Nightmares & Scorpio Sky match. Everyone did some good promo work in this video. Good stuff.
**********
Thunder Rosa defeated Serena Deeb
I’m not sure what it says about your women’s division when you bring in two women from outside the company and they have the best match in the division in months.
I’m not sure that having Rosa go back and forth with Deeb when she’s challenging for the title on Saturday was the right way to go either, but the match was quite good.
Deeb went after the left arm and left knee as they traded holds. It broke down into a striking battle. Rosa hit some arm drags. They went back and forth with strikes. Rosa hit a running legdrop.
Rosa hit a dropkick in the corner. Rosa used a neck tie. Deeb slid out and used an octopus hold. Deeb went for a piledriver. Rosa escaped and hit a death valley driver.
They traded cradles for one counts. Rosa hit a one-legged dropkick, then hit the Thunder Driver for the pin.
**********
Jon Moxley cut a promo on MJF backstage. He said it’s championship week and MJF has made it to the top of the rankings. He said on Saturday all the distractions go away and it’s just him and MJF, kill or be killed.
Mox said it will have to be the meanest, nastiest MJF we’ve ever seen to beat him. He said it’s MJF’s moment, but everything he’s done until now has been easy.
**********
Schiavone interviewed Big Swole. Swole promised to fight Britt Baker tooth and nail on Saturday at The Buy In.
Reba approached disguised as a pizza delivery person. Baker attacked Swole from behind with a crutch. Baker used Lockjaw on Swole and threw pizza on her.
The announcers made jokes about pepperoni, pineapple on pizza and generally treated this as a joke.
Baker and Swole’s match on Saturday is now a “Tooth and Nail” match. I have no idea what that means and it was never explained.
**********
Sterling entered for the main event. He was wearing a padded outfit. Sterling acted as though he was trying to get away. Wardlow followed him out and made sure he got in the ring.
**********
Jon Moxley defeated Mark Sterling
Moxley offered Sterling some free shots. Sterling poked Moxley in the eye. Moxley beat Sterling around ringside and hit him with a shoe.
Moxley returned the eye poke and hit the Paradigm Shift for the pin.
**********
Wardlow jumped Moxley immediately after the bell. MJF slowly walked to the ring with his walker and neck brace before doing away with the brace and the walker.
MJF hammered Moxley with stomps and right hands. Wardlow handed MJF the Dynamite diamond ring. MJF hit Moxley with a right hand with the ring. Moxley bled. MJF bit at the cut on Moxley’s head.
MJF stood over Mox and posed with the title to close the show.
Serena Deeb will be making her AEW debut tonight on Dynamite.
Deeb will face the NWA Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa in a singles match, AEW social media confirmed this afternoon. This would be her first match since the 2017 Mae Young Classic tournament, where she lost to Piper Niven in the second round.
Following the tournament, she was hired by WWE as a coach at the WWE Performance Center. However, she, along with fellow trainers Kendo Kashin and Ace Steel, were cut in April as part of WWE’s wide-ranging cutbacks due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Thunder Rosa has been seen on Dynamite in recent weeks, challenging AEW Women’s champion Hikaru Shida to a title match at All Out. Shida accepted the match, which will take place this Saturday, September 5.
Deeb previously wrestled for the WWE between 2009-10, with her most prolific role being part of CM Punk’s followers who were collectively known as the Straight Edge Society.
Excalibur made his return to commentary after an absence of more than a month, joined by Taz.
Shawn Spears (w/Tully Blanchard) defeated Eddie Taurus
Fans were shown in attendance as this was filmed last Thursday when they started selling tickets again. This was Taurus’s AEW debut while Spears has a record of 11-2 for the year, plus a seven match win streak. His gimmick recently has been inserting Kevlar into his glove to cheat or beat down opponents.
The two performed back-and-forth chain wrestling at the bell. Spears eventually sent Taurus to the floor and pummeled him with strikes. Taurus made a brief comeback by sending Spears face-first into the turnbuckle followed by a dropkick, but Spears hit the C4 for the win. Post-match, Spears once against used the Kevlar-loaded glove as he hit a palm strike.
Santana & Ortiz defeated Faboo Andre & Ryzin
This would have been unbearably bad had Ortiz not been entertaining with his trash talk on the apron. Santana started off against Ryzin, hitting the Three Amigos suplexes at the start before tagging in Ortiz. Ryzin escaped to tag in Andre, who completely missed on a dropkick that Ortiz sold anyway.
Santana tagged back in and immediately hit a tope on Ryzin on the outside while Ortiz hit Andre with a powerbomb. Santana followed up by whiffing the running knee even worse than the aforementioned dropkick for a pin, ending the underwhelming match.
Post-match, Santana and Ortiz cut a promo on Best Friends with Ortiz asking Trent to tell his mom to stop hitting up his phone. After the next match, the two were about to be interviewed in the parking area, but were ambushed by Best Friends as the interviewer urged security to come out.
Allie (w/ QT Marshall) defeated Cassandra Golden
This was Golden’s second match on Dark as she faced Britt Baker on an April edition of Dynamite while this was Allie’s first singles match since the Jericho Cruise in January. Golden went for a schoolgirl roll-up at the bell, but Allie fired back with strikes, a neckbreaker, and a sliding elbow to the outside. Once outside, she made Marshall carry her back onto the ring.
Golden made a comeback with a side slam and a hip attack, but Allie kicked out of the pinfall attempt. Allie fought out of a fireman’s carry and regained the advantage after running strikes and a bulldog with a Final Cut giving her the win.
Frankie Kazarian defeated Angelico
Kazarian pinned Kip Sabian on Dark last week in a mild upset while this was Angelico’s first-ever singles match in AEW. The announcers mentioned his llavero submission prowess multiple times. There wasn’t a strike thrown until nearly five minutes into the match.
At the bell, Kazarian applied a wristlock before Angelico fought out with some technical wrestling. They exchanged cradles before Angelico retreated to the corner where he hit a strong right hand as the referee pushed Kazarian out. Angelico kept up the advantage by transitioning from hold to hold, including a modified octopus hold, an Indian deathlock, and a prone single-leg Boston crab.
Kazarian fought back with right hands, lariats, and a dropkick. Angelico landed a capoeira kick and nearly got the pinfall with an inside cradle. Kazarian fought out of the Razor’s Edge, transitioning into a reverse DDT for the win.
This was quite good all-around and the technical wrestling was excellent. They are building a story with Kazarian, and it didn’t overstay its welcome. Even the lack of crowd reaction couldn’t stop it from being the best Dark match in weeks.
– Brandi Rhodes was interviewed by Tony Schiavone at the entrance ramp. She was asked about losing the women’s tag tournament, as well as being attacked by Anna Jay two weeks ago on Dynamite. She admitted that Jay was pretty, but “being pretty doesn’t get you sh*t.” Instead, she said, it’s her intelligence that’s gotten her as far as she has. She promised to send Jay back to the Nightmare Factory where she trains.
The Gunn Club (Billy & Austin Gunn) defeated Donnie Primetime & Ryan Rembrandt
They changed Primetime’s name from Janela between when they announced the lineup and tonight. This was his AEW debut and, in fact, he looks identical to Joey Janela. The Gunn Club have been mainstays on Dark over the summer. The best part of this didn’t have anything to do with the match as Excalibur ribbed Taz on commentary over Austin’s history as a wrestler in a genuinely funny moment.
The Gunns performed frequent tags and double team moves on Rembrandt at the start before he fought back with elbow drops. Austin hit a running elbow to get the hot tag to Billy, who dispatched both opponents. Austin tagged back in and hit the Quick Draw for the pinfall in a very brief contest, helping the Gunn Club move to 6-0 as a team.
Abadon defeated Dani Jordyn
The fourth ranked woman in the division has a really cool look and even spits blood during her entrance. Jordyn’s character is that of a high school bully. Like last week with Red Velvet, I appreciated that she showed that she was intimidated by Abadon, but nonetheless treated the match as a competition that she had to win. “Supernatural” characters are tough to do, but that’s a good way to do it without killing the credibility of their opponents.
Abadon won this easily after attacking Jordyn’s braced knee from the start. This wasn’t all that brief, but Abadon controlled the whole thing. Jordyn did a good job selling the knee and made a brief comeback with a clothesline. Abadon sat up unaffected and continued to beat her opponent down. Eventually, she won via submission with strikes to the knee.
Ricky Starks defeated Tony Donati
Starks came out in a Team Taz shirt and with him on commentary, there was lots of praise for Starks. Starks went into this with a 5-1 record and on a five-match win streak. Donati attempted a few cradles at the bell, but Starks took advantage by dropping Donati face-first on the apron. Starks posed, taunted, and spoke into the camera multiple times during the heat segment, referencing Darby Allin. Donati attempted to come back with lariats, but Starks hit Roshambo for the pinfall.
Jurassic Express (Luchasaurus & Jungle Boy) (w/ Marko Stunt) defeated Jon Cruz & David Ali
Stunt came out with crutches and a walking boot after being attacked by Jake Hager last week. Luchasaurus made sure to tell the camera that he’s the real “best hot tag in the business”, referencing this week’s Being The Elite. Cruz did some comedy at the start, acting like a jobber, while facing the much bigger Luchasaurus. Both teams made tags and Jungle Boy had a really nice series of moves with Ali that concluded with his backflip arm drag.
Jurassic Express hit the Tail Whip into a flatliner, but Cruz broke the pin up. Cruz got the hot tag and hit a diving axe handle, but Luchasaurus took down both opponents with kicks. They hit some cool strikes on Ali, but he wasn’t the legal man. Jungle Boy then hit an assisted cutter on Cruz for the win.
Anna Jay defeated Red Velvet
Jay was accompanied by most of the Dark Order for her entrance, sans Mr. Brodie Lee and Colt Cabana. This was a bit of a test for Jay in her first singles match since joining the Dark Order. She wasn’t that impressive. Velvet has really stood out among the many independent wrestlers AEW has brought in for Dark as she has good athleticism and charisma.
Velvet gained the advantage with strikes at the start, but Jay cut her off with a kneelift. Velvet went for her signature split trip, but Jay was too smart for that. They had a bit of an awkward striking battle, concluded by the running double knees for a two count for Velvet.
Outside, Jay clotheslined Velvet to the floor and tossed her into the barricade. Back in, Jay hit a couple weak looking curb stomps followed by the rear naked choke for the submission victory.
Kip Sabian (w/ Penelope Ford) defeated Shawn Dean
Sabian lost to Frankie Kazarian on last week’s Dark. He brought out a sign asking people to follow him on YouTube and Twitch, and claimed that he’s bringing back male crop tops as he wrestled in a crop top and sunglasses.
The two had a nice, quick back-and-forth battle with lots of athletic moves. Sabian took advantage with an eye poke followed by shoving Dean face-first into the turnbuckle. He paused his offense to explain to the ringside camera that he lost to Kazarian because he just didn’t take him seriously. Sabian went for the PK and acted like it was a field goal attempt, but the referee claimed it was wide right. Dean took advantage with a brutal-looking German suplex. Eventually, Sabian fought back and hit his rope-hang neckbreaker to get the win.
Private Party (Marq Quen & Isiah Kassidy) defeated The Initiative (Brandon Cutler & Peter Avalon) (w/ Leva Bates)
The Initiative came into this at 0-11 with their losing streak being really the only overarching story that Dark has. They are heels, but they work as babyfaces until Avalon inevitably cheats. Private Party were 6-6 and will team with SCU on Dynamite against the Young Bucks and Jurassic Express for a chance to wrestle on All Out.
This was short for an AEW main event, but very fast paced.
The Initiative started out strong with quick tags on Quen. Kassidy stopped his partner from being sent into the corner and then took out the Initiative with a springboard double crossbody.
Eventually, Cutler made a tag to Avalon who came back with a crossbody of his own, followed by a tope suicida to Quen on the outside. He hit a split-legged moonsault on Kassidy for two. Kassidy flipped out of a suplex and tagged in Quen. He hit a Fosbury Flop that just grazed Avalon and then cartwheeled out of a Leva Bates hurricanrana.
Back in, Cutler hit a 450 splash on Quen, but Kassidy, the legal man, cradled Cutler for the win. Post-match, Avalon snapped and attacked Cutler. He then hit him with the 20-sided die that the Initiative bring to the ring. It looks like the Initiative are no more.
Final Thoughts:
After perhaps the worst AEW show in history last week, this week’s edition of Dark was vastly improved. The main improvement came from the return of Excalibur, who plays off of Taz’s humor far better than Tony Schiavone did. With these two, it feels like banter, rather than Taz just belittling Schiavone at every turn. The show was also 20 minutes shorter, which helped the pacing.
The in-ring action was also improved. Two matches (Sabian vs. Dean and Private Party vs. The Initiative) were solid, and one bordered on very good (Kazarian vs. Angelico). Finally, furthering angles like Santana & Ortiz vs. Best Friends, Brandi Rhodes vs. Anna Jay, and the breakup of The Initiative is a far better use of Dark’s time than endless squash matches. As a result, this was better than most Dark shows have been since they moved to the squash match format.
A week after he was originally slated to make his return to AEW Dynamite, Dave Meltzer is reporting that Excalibur is scheduled to return on this Wednesday’s show instead.
The popular color commentator and co-founder of PWG will first make his announcing return on Tuesday as part of the Dark announce team. It’s unclear why he didn’t return last Wednesday, the second delay after a planned August 12th return was pushed back.
He has been off TV since Taz replaced him on the Wednesday, July 29th Dynamite. Neither he nor AEW have addressed the absence, but it’s believed to be due to a PWG angle from 17 years ago involving he, Kevin Steen, Human Tornado, and Disco Machine that included a racial slur that he didn’t want to become a distraction to the company after it re-emerged on social media recently.
He has been a fixture in the announcing desk alongside Jim Ross and Tony Schiavone since AEW’s launch.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Thunder Rosa will be making her AEW in-ring debut this Wednesday on Dynamite.
He didn’t give her opponent, but mentioned her appearance while going over the rundown for this week’s edition of the show.
The current NWA Women’s Champion made a surprise appearance via a vignette several weeks ago, challenging AEW Women’s Champion Hikaru Shida to a title match at All Out which was accepted the following week.
The 34-year-old has worked for Lucha Underground, Ring of Honor, WOW and others in her six year career which also includes a 2019 MMA fight with Combate Americas. She will attempt to become a dual champion this Saturday against Shida who has held the title since defeating Nyla Rose at May’s Double or Nothing.
The go-home show for the pay-per-view will feature AEW World Champion Jon Moxley vs. MJF’s lawyer Mark Sterling, Chris Jericho vs. Joey Janela, Jurassic Express and Young Bucks vs. Private Party and SCU with winners facing each other Saturday, and Best Friends vs. Santana and Ortiz.
Tuesday’s AEW Dark will feature eleven matches including The Initiative still looking for their first win as a tag team.
Peter Avalon and Brandon Cutler (accompanied by Leva Bates) will have a tough road in doing just that as they face Private Party who are looking to rebound from a recent loss to FTR on Dynamite.
In another featured match, Frankie Kazarian will continue his return to singles action vs. Angelico. He defeated Kip Sabian on Dark recently while this will be Angelico’s first singles match since coming to AEW with Hybrid2 teammate Jack Evans.
The rest of the lineup:
Allie (w/QT Marshall) vs. Cassandra Golden
Dani Jordyn vs. Abadon
Shawn Dean vs. Kip Sabian (w/Penelope Ford)
Billy & Austin Gunn vs. Donnie Janela and Ryan Rembrandt
Episode 219 of Being The Elite began with Dark Order celebrating on a lawnmower. Mr. Brodie Lee led a “f*ck Hangman” chant.
Other highlights from the episode included:
The Young Bucks shilled their book, then went to Wal Mart in search of their action figures. They found several Kenny Omega figures and a Cody but no Young Bucks.
John Silver and Stu Grayson argued over who was the best kisser in Dark Order. Anna Jay came to collect a debt from Grayson. Alex Reynolds and Alan Angels argued over who was the real hair guy in the group. Reynolds showed Mr. Brodie Lee what his million dollars worth of tap dancing lessons bought him.
Matt Jackson tried to make up for blowing the Chili’s deal by bringing The Elite some Cracker Barrel for lunch. They all flipped him off.
Colt Cabana got all the gold off his face but said he still needed reconstructive surgery. He approached Britt Baker for help but she said she wouldn’t help Colt because he’s a dumbass.
The Initiative argued about how to win matches. Leva Bates suggested that Brandon Cutler and Peter Avalon follow her lead and compromise instead of being just babyfaces or heels.
Christopher Daniels employed Reynolds, Silver and Angels to do a commercial for vitamins. Silver ate all the vitamins before they could finish the ad.
This week’s 50-plus for 50-plus featured Cutler changing the oil in his car.
Jurassic Express met with The Young Bucks. They are teaming on Dynamite this week. They argued over who would take the heat in their match. Everyone tried to talk Luchasaurus into doing a Canadian destroyer but he was reluctant because his ex was Canadian.
Best Friends and Orange Cassidy devised another plan to kill Cutler, this time with a tripwire. The plan failed.
The closing scene saw each member of The Elite reacting to Hangman’s betrayal on Dynamite last week. The final shot ended on Kenny Omega in is car with his Cleaner sunglasses on.
In January, AEW announced an extension of their deal with WarnerMedia through 2023 that called for an addtional hour-long TV show to be created.
But with the pandemic, the company has had to figure out ways to keep producing Dynamite and Dark on a weekly basis and things have been quiet on the new show front. On the Sunday edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer confirmed the show is still in the works and expected to launch before the end of 2020.
At the time, the idea was the hour would be taped on Wednesday nights and would air on another night. The destination was thought to be TNT, but could be another one of the various Turner broadcast networks or even the HBO Max streaming service that is owned by WarnerMedia.
The four year extension is worth $175 million, just under $45 million per year. It gives WarnerMedia an option for 2024 at a significantly increased price.
After some questions over whether AEW Dynamite would air this Wednesday due to the NBA playoffs, company president Tony Khan confirmed Friday the show will air in its regular day and reguilar timeslot after all.
AEW’s flagship property has aired on Saturday and Thursday the past two weeks due to NBA preemptions, still managing to hold its own with Saturday viewership followed by an increase for Thursday, albeit with some drops in the key demos.
The only remaining schedule change is that the Wednesday, September 16th show will be one hour, airing whenever the NBA game is done that night, followed by a full two hour episode on Thursday, September 17th.
This Wednesday’s lineup thus far:
Chris Jericho vs. Joey Janela
AEW World Champion Jon Moxley vs. Mark Sterling
Jurassic Express and Young Bucks vs. Private Party and SCU with winners facing each other at All Out
Coming off Thursday’s Dynamite where AEW sold tickets to fans for the first time since the pandemic took hold in the U.S., the company announced a Saturday onsale for this Wednesday’s Dynamite and next Saturday’s All Out pay-per-view, both from Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida.
AEW sold 10% capacity for Thursday’s live Dynamite and Dark taping and said in a previous release that if things went smoothly, they would expand up to 15% for future shows which is believed to be around 800 tickets.
The onsale will be on both TicketMaster and AEW’s dedicated ticket website, starting at $35 for Dynamite and $50 for All Out.
Like Thursday, fans will be separated out in seating pods for between two and six people that are in the same party. AEW president Tony Khan tweeted some frustrations earlier this week when “unethical” ticket resellers attempted to usurp the initial onsale process. Fans will also need to wear masks and have their temperatures scanned in order to gain access.
Hangman Page is out of The Elite following last night’s AEW Dynamite.
Page sabotaged The Young Bucks in the tag team number one contender’s gauntlet match. Had The Bucks won, Page and Kenny Omega would have defended their AEW World Tag Team titles against them at All Out. Instead, FTR went on to win the match and the title shot.
Later, The Bucks confronted Page in the arena bar. Matt Jackson threw a drink in Page’s face and called him a drunk. Matt and Nick then kicked Page out of The Elite. Page’s partner Omega was conspicuous by his absence.
Jon Moxley and MJF signed the contract making their AEW World title match at All Out official. Moxley also secured a match against MJF’s lawyer on next week’s Dynamite.
A new faction comprised of The Butcher, The Blade, Pentagon Jr., Rey Fenix and managed by Eddie Kingston made their debut as a unit with a win over Sonny Kiss, Joey Janela, Griff Garrison and Brian Pillman Jr.
The Dark Order held a funeral for Cody and an in-ring celebration to honor Mr. Brodie Lee after he dethroned Cody as TNT Champion on last week’s Dynamite. Dark Order also recruited Tay Conti to the group and scuffled with Scorpio Sky, Matt Cardona and Natural Nightmares.
Sammy Guevara defeated Matt Hardy in a tables match after hitting a superplex through a table. Both men bled in the match.
Dynamite closed with Orange Cassidy attacking Chris Jericho at the commentary table ahead of their Mimosa Mayhem Match at All Out.

AEW Dynamite will return to Wednesday night next week and will feature their World Champion in a match against a lawyer.
Made as part of the All Out contract signing Thursday night, champion Jon Moxley will face MJF’s lawyer (aka indie wrestler “Smart” Mark Sterling) on next week’s show and if Sterling doesn’t show up, MJF will lose his title opportunity. Moxley signed a contract Thursday where it says he cannot use the Paradigm Shift at All Out.
In other announced matches:
In eight-man tag action, Private Party will team with SCU (Kazarian and Daniels) to take on the Young Bucks and Jurassic Express (Luchasaurus and Jungle Boy) where the winners will face each other at All Out.
Santana and Ortiz will face Best Friends in a grudge match that has been building for weeks. The Inner Circle members raised the ire of the Friends by destroying Trent’s mother’s minivan and their gear in subsequent weeks.
Chris Jericho will be in what he called a tune up match against Joey Janela, the first time they have wrestled.
