WWE files trademark for Blake Monroe nickname

Blake Monroe’s WWE main roster debut could be imminent, if a new trademark filing is any indication.

WWE filed a trademark application on Tuesday (May 19) for Monroe’s nickname “The Glamour.” It’s a move that suggests WWE is progressing toward Monroe’s SmackDown debut. The company began hyping her arrival with videos airing on SmackDown after WrestleMania, with her first appearance expected to come soon.

In the goods and services section of the application, WWE says the trademark is for performances by a professional wrestler:

  • Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment

Monroe’s “The Glamour” nickname dates back to her pre-WWE career. She used the moniker in NXT, it’s featured on her merchandise, and WWE has included it in the vignettes leading into her main roster debut.

Though she hasn’t appeared yet, Monroe has been backstage at SmackDown events in recent weeks. She told Spanish-language outlet Marca that she’s excited to learn from Paul “Triple H” Levesque on the main roster after already having gotten tips from another legend in Shawn Michaels during her NXT run. Monroe, who joined NXT after departing AEW, was a one-time NXT Women’s North American Champion on the brand.

Upcoming WWE SmackDown schedule —

SmackDown is being held in Lexington, Kentucky this Friday before heading to Barcelona, Spain the following week. The Barcelona event is SmackDown’s go-home show for Clash in Italy, with the brand then heading to Bologna, Italy the following week.

Next month, SmackDown has a taping in Monroe’s hometown of London, England on June 23.

WWE files trademark for potential new video game title

WWE has filed to trademark a name for a potential new video game.

On Friday, May 15, the company submitted an application to the United States Patent and Trademark Office for the term “WWE Hard Hitters.”

The filing lists the purposes as:

“IC 009: Video and computer game tapes, video and computer game discs, video and computer game cassettes, video and computer game cartridges, video and computer game CD-roms, video output game machines for use with televisions; video and computer game software; video games for use with wireless devices; online video games; video games for use via a global computer network and wireless devices.”

The filing follows several others WWE has made in recent weeks.

Recent WWE trademark filings

On May 10, WWE filed to trademark the name “WWE Super Scramble,” also for video game purposes.

On May 8, WWE filed to trademark “Samoan Werewolf,” the nickname for Jacob Fatu. The company also filed to trademark “NXT Global Heritage Invitational,” a possible tournament name for the NXT brand.

The May 8 filings also included “Earn The Day” and “Head of the Table,” both for clothing purposes.

WWE files four new trademark applications

WWE made multiple trademark filings on Friday, though all were new applications of past trademarks.

Records show that WWE applied to trademark four terms on May 8. They include the respective nicknames of Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu, a past NXT tournament, and a catchphrase that has been used by John Cena:

  • Head of the Table
  • Samoan Werewolf
  • NXT Global Heritage Invitational
  • Earn the Day

Given that they were all filed on the same day, it’s unclear if WWE is actually planning to use any of these trademarks for new purposes. The most interesting of them is the “Earn the Day” trademark and whether it has any connection to the announcement Cena is making at Backlash tonight. However, WWE first trademarked the term in 2021 in conjunction with a Cena merchandise collection that was released at that time. The new application also says that it is for merchandising purposes:

  •  Clothing, namely, tops, shirts, jackets, sweatshirts, hoodies; outerwear, namely, coats; bottoms, pants, shorts, underwear, dresses, pajamas, lingerie, clothing ties, scarves, gloves, swimwear; Halloween and masquerade costumes; footwear, namely, shoes, sneakers, slippers, flip flops, boots; headwear, namely, hats, caps; wrist bands; bandanas; championship trophy belts.

Cena has promised that his announcement tonight will “shock the very foundation of WWE” for both fans and wrestlers. It’s expected that the announcement will, in some form, relate to the soon-to-be-launched Club WWE membership program that was unveiled last month.

The top match at Backlash is pitting Reigns and Fatu against each other with Reigns’ World Heavyweight Championship on the line.

NXT’s Global Heritage Invitational was a round-robin tournament that took place in 2023 and was won by Pete Dunne, who earned a Heritage Cup title shot but was unsuccessful when he challenged then-champion Noam Dar. The Heritage Cup is no longer being featured on NXT television but is technically still held by Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo.

WWE files trademark for new wrestler name

WWE filed a trademark this week for a potential new wrestler name.

A trademark application was made for ‘Nox Raijin’ on April 28 with the description that it was for entertainment services, wrestling performances by a professional wrestler.

  • IC 041: Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment.

There is no confirmation on who the trademarked name is for in WWE. NXT featured several debuts by Evolve and LFG talents this week.

The latest edition of NXT kicked off with Shawn Michaels, Matt Bloom and the brand’s General Manager Robert Stone, discussing the next wave of talents to take over the brand following the main roster call-ups in the week after WrestleMania 42.

The program featured former IWGP Champion EVIL who made his WWE debut by confronting NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo while he was addressing fans. Later, Lizzy Rain competed in her first match in the company against Nikkita Lyons.

Evolve competitors Tristan Angels amd Tate Wilder, made their NXT debuts too. Angels introduced himself as ‘Mr. England’ with a message for Myles Borne, indicating that he was next to challenge for the NXT North American Championship. Tate Wilder marked his first appearance on the brand, rushing out to assist EK Prosper and Sean Legacy after BirthRight’s ambush.

WWE files trademark for potential new wrestler name

WWE filed for a new trademark this week, potentially pointing to a new ring name for one of the talents.

The filing was made for ‘Mason Rook’ signalling a potential WWE wrestler’s new ring name. So far, there is no indication on who it could be for.

The application is listed for ‘entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer’.

Over the past month, WWE has filed for multiple trademarks for NXT and upcoming WWE talents and the special two week edition of Revenge.

WWE is in the process of transitioning NXT talents to the main roster. While Sol Ruca, Ethan Page and Joe Hendry are now official members of the Raw roster, Jacy Jayne is reported to join SmackDown. The week after WrestleMania is often crucial for stars switching brands, notably for NXT names moving to the main roster.

WWE files for ‘NXT Revenge’ trademark

This week, WWE made a trademark filing that looks to be for a new NXT event the company is planning.

WWE applied to trademark the term “NXT Revenge” on April 6, using the standard language it always does when trademarking event names. The goods and services section of the application lists that the trademark is for “the production and exhibition of professional wrestling events.”

  • Entertainment services, namely, a show about professional wrestling; entertainment services, namely, the production and exhibition of professional wrestling events rendered through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing wrestling news and information through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information

There has been no official announcement of the Revenge event yet, and there’s no word on whether it would be a TV special or PLE. NXT just presented its annual Stand & Deliver PLE this past weekend. Instead of taking place during WrestleMania weekend, WWE broke tradition this year by moving up Stand & Deliver and having it be held in St. Louis instead of Las Vegas.

NXT will present its Stand & Deliver fallout episode tonight, so an announcement of the brand’s next PLE could be coming soon. Battleground has typically followed Stand & Deliver on the NXT calendar.

WWE files trademark for new wrestler name

This week, WWE made a trademark filing for what appears to be another new wrestler name.

WWE applied to trademark the name “EK Prosper” on March 31. This comes after the company filed trademarks for five names earlier this month, with most of those having been since revealed as new monikers for prospects in the WWE ID program.

There’s no confirmation yet on who the “EK Prosper” trademark is for. The application includes the standard language WWE uses when trademarking names:

The previous round of trademarks, filed on March 19, were for the names Anya Rune, Gianna Capri, Veronica Haven, Max Abrams, and Jacari Ball. The first four of those trademarks are for ID prospects Airica Demia (Anya Rune), Valentina Rossi (Gianna Capri), Fallyn Gray (Veronica Haven), and Mike Cunningham (Max Abrams), while it’s not been reported who will be taking the name Jacari Ball.

WWE files to trademark five new names

WWE made a slate of trademark filings this week that appear to be new NXT names for up-and-coming prospects.

On March 19, WWE applied to trademark the following names: Anya Rune, Gianna Capri, Veronica Haven, Jacari Ball, and Max Abrams. The goods and services section of each application includes the standard language WWE uses when trademarking wrestler names:

It’s not known if these names are for brand-new signees or existing Performance Center prospects who have yet to get their NXT names. The company recently announced four new PC additions, including indie wrestler Rayne Leverkusen (real name Rayne Lea).

The impending debut of WWE LFG season three likely means that some existing Performance Center wrestlers will be getting new names. Bayley Humphrey was given the name Myka Lockwood earlier this month after WWE trademarked that moniker. Season three of LFG arrives on A&E on April 26.

WWE files trademark for new NXT wrestler name

WWE Performance Center prospect Bayley Humphrey has been assigned her in-ring name.

On March 10, WWE filed a trademark application for the term “Myka Lockwood.” Humphrey has since confirmed that it will be her wrestling name. She changed her social media accounts to the new name and sent out a tweet reacting to the trademark news.

The trademark filing lists that it is for goods and services related to pro wrestling performances, which is the standard language WWE uses when applying for a new name:

  • Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment.

Humphrey was a base for Baylor University’s acrobatics and tumbling team while in college. After being part of the promotion’s NIL program, she joined WWE on a full-time basis and was featured on the first two seasons of the A&E competition series WWE: LFG (Legends and Future Greats). The show is returning with an all new format next month for season three.

WWE files multiple new trademarks related to Becky Lynch, NXT

After recently filing several new trademarks with the US Patent and Trademark Office, WWE has again filed for multiple new trademarks related to Becky Lynch and NXT.

On Friday, February 27, WWE filed new trademarks for “Lasskicker,” “Sean Legacy,” “The Vanity Project,” “Eli Knight,” “Jackson Drake,” “Ricky Smokes,” and “Brad Baylor.”

While “Lasskicker” is known as Becky Lynch’s WWE nickname, all the others are names for WWE NXT Superstars.

The following is the full description for the trademarks filed:

“Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment.”

A few days ago, on February 19, 2026, WWE filed to trademark CJ Valor, Kai Kavari, Santi Rivera, and Romeo Moreno. Before this, they also filed trademarks for WWE Eras Collide, WWE Generations, and WWE Domination for video game purposes, as well as the names Tristan Angels and Dorian Van Dux

WWE files several trademarks for potential new wrestler names

After recently trademarking several new trademarks with the US Patent and Trademark Office, WWE has now again trademarked a few more potential wrestler names.

On Thursday, February 19, 2026, WWE filed to trademark CJ Valor, Santi Rivera, and Romeo Moreno. The description for which is provided below.

On Friday, February 20, WWE also filed to trademark Kai Kavari amongst the other potential in-ring names.

WWE had also previously trademarked WWE Eras Collide, WWE Generations, and WWE Domination for video game purposes, as well as the names Tristan Angels and Dorian Van Dux. Later, Tristan Angels was revealed as the new name for Nathaniel Cranton.

WWE is making stops in Spain, Italy, France, Portugal, and the United Kingdom this summer.

Ahead of today’s PLE announcement, WWE filed a trademark for the term “WWE Clash” on February 17. Past Clash-branded shows include 2025’s Clash in Paris and 2024 and 2022’s Clash at the Castle (held in Cardiff and Glasgow).

WWE files trademark for new NXT faction name

This week, WWE made a trademark filing officially confirming the name of a new NXT faction.

WWE applied to trademark the term “Birthright” on February 11. It’s a word that Lexis King has been using over the past few weeks while attempting to recruit others into his faction with Arianna Grace and Stacks. King (the son of Brian Pillman) and Grace (daughter of Santino Marella) are both second-generation wrestlers.

Charlie Dempsey and Uriah Connors, the sons of William Regal and Fit Finlay, are two of the names King has approached about joining the group. The idea is that their families have earned the wrestling legacies that they are now continuing, and the other prospects in NXT are just influencers and athletes who have gotten everything handed to them.

The trademark application lists that the filing is to cover goods and services related to pro wrestling performances:

Another new addition to Birthright could be David Finlay, who is rumored to be headed to WWE after giving an apparent farewell to NJPW at The New Beginning in Osaka. Finlay is Uriah Connors’ brother.

Wednesday Update

WWE

  • WWE uploaded the full triple threat tag match that headlined NXT last night, which saw Sol Ruca & Zaria defeat Fallon Henley & Lainey Reid and Kendal Grey & Wren Sinclair to become the number one contenders to the TNA Knockouts Tag Team titles.
  • WWE filed a trademark application for the name “Royce Keys” on January 20.
  • On What Do You Wanna Talk About? with Cody Rhodes, The Undertaker was asked if he’s enjoyed hosting his own Six Feet Under podcast:
    • It has its moments. Yeah, it really does. When you’re in a discussion or you’re in a conversation and you’re hitting it off, that’s always fun. But, man, sometimes when you get that guest that doesn’t want to talk or is not a storyteller, right? I don’t want to name names, but it can be like pulling a tooth.
  • Undertaker announced that Rhodes will be a future guest on Six Feet Under.
  • R-Truth sent out a message thanking everyone for how they’ve responded to the new season of WWE Unreal:
    • Thank you to each and everyone of you WORLD WIDE! I don’t call you fans anymore, You all are my family. I really appreciate ALL of you more than you’ll ever know.
  • CM Punk & AJ Styles teamed up at WWE’s house show in Brussels yesterday, defeating Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed.
  • Booker T spoke to The Takedown on SI about his willingness to help younger talent:
    • I always tell the young guys, if you want some help, I’ll be right over here. I got a little cubby hole and I got a little spot, a little office. Sometimes I show up to work and I have two guys, three guys, a girl, sitting there waiting on me. We’ll break it down … really go into self interrogation mode, ask ourselves serious questions.
    • It’s mostly going to be ‘what not to dos’ and working with these kids and really getting down to the meat and potatoes of being able to beat someone up poetically. That’s all it is. If you could do that, we can make a whole lot of money.

Other Wrestling

  • Josh Alexander appeared on the Battleground Podcast ahead of his match against Kenny Omega on Dynamite tonight.
  • During the interview, Alexander was asked if he would like to see his wife Jade Chung and friend Scott D’Amore have a role in AEW/ROH:
    • I would absolutely love to see that. I mean, Scott’s one thing. He might take offense more if I said no to that than my wife.
    • My wife first and foremost, she changed her whole career from a wrestling manager into being a ring announcer just because [TNA] asked her to try it. She was worried about it, but she’s like, ‘I’ll give it a try, I’ve never done it, we’ll see.’ She went to voice lessons for a year, and she’s still going to this day, even though she’s not doing it anymore.
    • But she did all this hard work. And I think the hard work showed in what she was able to do as a ring announcer. Like, she was getting praise from a lot of people from around the industry that have been in the industry for a very long time.
    • So I think it’d be a terrible waste of her talents to not see her do what she now loves to do and is now confident in doing at a bigger company. AEW would be a very good place for that.
    • Scott D’Amore, the man has helped me more than anybody else in wrestling history. He saw something in me when a lot of people didn’t, gave me an opportunity when a lot of people didn’t. And the only reason I’m sitting here in this house that I’m able to put over my children’s heads is because of Scott D’Amore giving me those opportunities and me making the best of them. So I owe that guy so much, and I would love to see him anywhere.
  • WDW News Today has an interview with MJF.
  • Alec Price told Undisputed that he and Jordan Oliver are out to prove they’re the best tag team in the world now that they’ve signed with AEW:
    • This is our time. [MJF] was part of the last generation of indie talent, then me and Jordan and our generation held the indies strong. Now it’s all about a new challenge. Me and Jordan aren’t going to squander this opportunity. We’re the best tag team in the world, and we’re going to show it.
  • In an interview with NJPW’s English-language website, Yota Tsuji reacted to Hiroshi Tanahashi’s retirement match:
    • I hit the showers when I got to the back and I was icing my neck while I checked it out. Tanahashi’s incredible. Those cheers at that volume from that many people without stopping, it just hit home how much he means to wrestling. Tanahashi that day was like the ultimate final form of a pro-wrestler. And you know, the match was great. Some emotion just boiled over toward the end there (laughs).
  • Tsuji noted that he wants his IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship defense against Gabe Kidd or Andrade El Idolo to take place overseas. Those two are facing each other in a number one contender’s match at the New Beginning in Osaka on February 11.
    • I’d like to do it overseas. If it happens to be Andrade then it’s a new international name to me to face, and if it’s Gabe then it will be a chance to show the best of NJPW to a foreign audience, so it’ll be cool either way.
  • All three members of former WWE faction Gallus will be debuting for MLW in Kissimmee, Florida on January 29, with Wolfgang joining Joe Coffey and Mark Coffey among the confirmed entrants for the 40-man Battle Riot match.
  • Elayna Black (the former Cora Jade) revealed that she is dating fellow TNA wrestler KC Navarro.
  • Limitless Wrestling’s YouTube channel uploaded the full Eddie Kingston & Ortiz vs. Anthony Greene & Channing Thomas tag match from last week.
  • “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase, The Great Sasuke, Gangrel, and Jordan Oliver & Alec Price will be taking part in Joey Janela’s Boat Bash 2027.

WWE files trademark for new in-ring name

WWE made a new trademark filing this week for what looks to be the new in-ring name of a Performance Center recruit.

On November 3, WWE applied to trademark the term “Skylar Raye.” The application lists that the trademark is to cover goods and services related to pro wrestling performances — which is the standard language WWE uses in filing trademarks for wrestler names:

Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment

There has been no confirmation on who this trademark is for. One option could be WWE LFG season two winner Dani Sekelsky, who goes by the name Dani Raye. She has a background in cheerleading, captaining her team at Penn State and then going on to cheer for the Tennessee Titans in the NFL.

“Happy NXT Tuesday!,” Sekelsky wrote in an Instagram stories post today. “SKY is looking extra blue today.”
