Is WWE SNME XLIV on TV? How to watch via Live Stream, ESPN and Netflix

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event XLIV is not on broadcast TV, not on ESPN, and not on Netflix. In the United States it streams exclusively on Peacock. Internationally, it’s free on WWE’s official YouTube channel.

SNME XLIV airs Saturday, May 23, 2026, from the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana, at 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. CT / 5 p.m. PT.

Why it’s not on NBC

WWE moved Saturday Night’s Main Event to stream exclusively on Peacock, starting with the November 2025 broadcast. That means that there is no antenna or cable feed to watch the show, as Peacock is the only U.S. route, and Peacock holds those exclusive SNME rights all the way through October 2029.

Why it’s not on ESPN

WWE did sign a five-year, $1.6 billion ESPN deal, but that covers Premium Live Events only. ESPN’s broadcast of WWE PLEs began September 20, 2025, with Wrestlepalooza, so PLEs have been on ESPN’s app for months by now and SNME is not a PLE.

Report: Madison Square Garden to host upcoming WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event

This summer, WWE could be bringing Saturday Night’s Main Event to Madison Square Garden in New York City.

WrestleVotes reports that WWE is planning for a Saturday Night’s Main Event special to be held at the “World’s Most Famous Arena” on July 18. That date would coincide with Fanatics Fest 2026, a convention in NYC that WWE and its stars are involved with.

The SNME date has not been officially announced by WWE yet, but that could change soon. WWE will be at MSG for Raw next Monday (March 30) and at The Theater at MSG for NXT on Tuesday (March 31).

Though SNME is a classic WWE program dating back to the 1980s, it has only ever been held at MSG once before: a 2007 episode during the show’s brief revival. It returned again in December 2024 and now airs live on Peacock a few times per year.

Fort Wayne, Indiana will host the next SNME event on WWE’s calendar. That show is being held at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum on May 23.

During his retirement tour, John Cena spoke about how happy he is that MSG is once again becoming a significant arena for WWE. Because of the costs involved, there was a period where WWE largely avoided running televised events at the venue. Raw and SmackDown now make regular stops at MSG, and this would be WWE’s first streaming special there since 2015.

WWE reveals date and location for next Saturday Night’s Main Event

WWE has locked in the date and location for its next Saturday Night’s Main Event special.

It was announced today that Saturday Night’s Main Event will take place from Fort Wayne, Indiana on May 23. This will be the first time Fort Wayne has hosted a televised WWE event since 2014. Allen County War Memorial Coliseum is the venue for the show, which will stream live on Peacock.

May 23 was the expected date for this SNME, though the location was unconfirmed until now. There had been speculation about it potentially being held in Nashville, Tennessee.

Tickets for the event are going on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. local time on Friday, March 20, with a pre-sale set to begin one day prior. No matches have been announced yet, with the card likely to come together after WrestleMania (April 18-19) and Backlash (May 9).

WWE and tourism organization Visit Fort Wayne are partnering together for this show. It’s happening shortly before WWE begins an extensive European tour that includes the company’s Clash in Italy PLE taking place on May 31.

With this announcement, it’s confirmed that the weekend of May 23-24 will be a busy one for the pro wrestling industry. AEW’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view is happening in New York City on the 24th.

Update on next WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event special

WWE’s next Saturday Night’s Main Event special looks to still be a couple of months away.

WrestleVotes Radio reports that the next edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event is currently slated for May 23, later confirmed by our Bryan Alvarez.

The location for the show is not confirmed yet, but WrestleVotes notes that Nashville, Tennessee, is being considered. The event will be broadcast live on Peacock.

The show is scheduled to happen shortly before WWE begins an extensive European tour. From March 29-June 8, WWE has events scheduled for Spain, Italy, France, and Portugal. The company then returns to Europe on June 22 for a Raw episode in London.

SNME would be taking place just over one week before WWE’s Clash in Italy PLE in Turin.

On the pro wrestling calendar, this SNME date falls one day before AEW’s Double or Nothing 2026 pay-per-view in New York City.

SNME made its return in December 2024 as WWE revived the classic series. The most recent edition was held in January prior to the Royal Rumble. Before that, there were SNME specials in both November and December 2025 — with the latter show being built around John Cena’s retirement.

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event World title match official

A new World Heavyweight Champion will be crowned at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1.

Jey Uso won a number one contender’s battle royal on Monday’s WWE Raw to advance to the title match at SNME on Saturday, November 1. Uso will take on CM Punk, who won the number one contendership on last week’s Raw, for the vacant World Heavyweight title.

Raw GM Adam Pearce announced on Monday’s show that Seth Rollins would be out of action due to a shoulder injury and had been stripped of the World title. With Punk already in line for a title shot, he then announced a battle royal for Raw to determine Punk’s opponent.

Jey, brother Jimmy Uso, LA Knight, and Dominik Mysterio were the final four competitors in the battle royal on Raw, with Jey dumping both his brother and Knight out of the ring for a double elimination. Jey then avoided a 619 attempt from Mysterio to win the match. A staredown with Punk closed Raw.

Salt Lake City will host the next episode of SNME on November 1, the second of two consecutive nights in the city, as Delta Center will also host the Halloween SmackDown the day before.

Our full report from Monday’s Raw which also featured a World Tag Team title change is available here.

Date set for John Cena’s WWE retirement match

John Cena’s in-ring career officially has less than four months remaining.

It was already known that Cena would be retiring from the ring this December. A date for his retirement match has now been set, with it scheduled to take place on a December 13 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event. There is no location or opponent confirmed yet, but the expectation has been that TD Garden in Boston will host the show with Massachusetts being Cena’s home state.

There had been rumors that WWE was considering moving the December SNME special to December 27 so it would air opposite AEW’s World Ends pay-per-view, but that will not be the case.

The announcement of the December 13 date was made in conjunction with the news that Saturday Night’s Main Event will now be streaming exclusively on Peacock going forward as part of a multi-year deal between WWE and NBCUniversal. SNME, a classic WWE series that dates back to the 1980s, made its return as a quarterly special in December 2024 and had been airing on both Peacock and NBC prior to today’s announcement that the NBC simulcast is going away.

WWE and Peacock have also confirmed a Saturday Night’s Main Event special for November 1.

With his retirement tour in its final months, Cena has a match against Logan Paul scheduled for Clash in Paris on August 31. It’s then expected that Cena vs. Brock Lesnar will happen at WWE Wrestlepalooza on September 20.

Clash in Paris will be the final WWE PLE to air on Peacock, with WWE’s new partnership with ESPN kicking off with the Wrestlepalooza event. Peacock will still have SNME, NXT PLEs, and the WWE content library (the library is scheduled to leave Peacock at the end of 2025 as things stand):

  • Saturday Night’s Main Event will stream in primetime exclusively on Peacock four times each year, featuring WWE’s top Superstars, rivalries, championship matches, and more.
  • Peacock will exclusively stream two nights of Saturday Night’s Main Events this year, with the first taking place on November 1. Additionally, Saturday Night’s Main Event on Dec. 13 will feature John Cena in his retirement match.
  • The WWE Network library will remain available on Peacock through the end of 2025, and NXT Premium Live Events will be available on Peacock until March 2026.
  • Throughout the term of the partnership, the SmackDown library will remain on Peacock on a 30-day delay and USA Network will continue as the live exclusive home of SmackDown on Friday nights.

US title match added to WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event

A United States title match is the latest addition to the card for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event this weekend.

Solo Sikoa will put his championship on the line against OG Bloodline member Jimmy Uso at the Saturday, July 12 event in Atlanta. The match was made official this morning via a video that SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis posted on social media.

With assistance from the debuting Talla Tonga (Hikuleo), Sikoa won the U.S. title belt from Jacob Fatu on June 28 at Night of Champions. This is Sikoa’s first main roster title reign, and this match against Uso will be his first defense.

The announcement of this title bout comes after Uso & Fatu defeated Sikoa & JC Mateo on SmackDown last Friday. Fatu pinned Sikoa to get the victory, but Sikoa, Mateo, Talla Tonga, and Tanga Loa stood tall to end the show after laying out Uso and Fatu.

State Farm Arena is hosting the Saturday Night’s Main Event episode, with the card set to be headlined by Goldberg’s retirement match against World Heavyweight Champion Gunther. The show will be broadcast live on both NBC and Peacock starting at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event (Saturday, July 12) —

  • Goldberg’s retirement match: World Heavyweight Champion Gunther defends against Goldberg
  • Randy Orton vs. Drew McIntyre
  • Seth Rollins vs. LA Knight
  • United States Champion Solo Sikoa defends against Jimmy Uso

WWE now promoting Gunther vs. Goldberg as Goldberg’s last match

Gunther vs. Goldberg at Saturday Night’s Main Event is now officially being promoted as Goldberg’s final match.

In an announcement regarding ticket sales today, WWE wrote that the July 12 Saturday Night’s Main Event episode will be “headlined by Goldberg’s final match versus WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther.” It was already expected that this would be Goldberg’s retirement match, but — with the title being on the line — was only advertised as “Goldberg’s Last Ride” until now.

WWE announced that individual tickets for Saturday Night’s Main Event and the company’s Evolution PLE will go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Eastern next Wednesday (June 25). The shows are taking place at State Farm Arena in Atlanta on back-to-back days.

Atlanta is where Goldberg’s wrestling career began at the WCW Power Plant. He went to the University of Georgia in Athens when he was in college, later playing in the NFL for the Atlanta Falcons.

Goldberg last wrestled in 2022 when he faced Roman Reigns in Saudi Arabia. The 58-year-old’s decision to return is because he wasn’t happy ending his career with that match and is determined to go out on his terms.

No other matches have been announced for the July 12 Saturday Night’s Main Event card yet.

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event draws best ratings since return

With John Cena, CM Punk, and Logan Paul all competing on the episode, Saturday Night’s Main Event drew the best ratings of its new era last weekend.

The May 24 episode of SNME averaged 1.97 million viewers on NBC, up 24 percent and 32 percent respectively from the last two specials. This only includes viewers watching the show on NBC and not anyone streaming on Peacock.

In the 18-49 demo, Saturday’s episode drew a 0.54 rating on NBC. That’s an increase of 28 percent from the December 2024 special and 64 percent from the January 2025 broadcast.

Jey Uso retained his World Heavyweight Championship against Paul in the main event of the show, getting help from the returning Cody Rhodes fending off Cena’s interference. Cena had defeated R-Truth earlier in the night.

Among the other matches were Punk & Sami Zayn losing to Seth Rollins & Bron Breakker. Plus, Damian Priest defeated Drew McIntyre in a steel cage match and Zelina Vega retained the Women’s United States Championship over Chelsea Green.

Here’s a look at the ratings for SNME on NBC since the show returned last December:

WWE SNME Predicted Match Order: May 24, 2025

WWE returns tonight with the 39th edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event (SNME), broadcasting live from the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida. The event features a fairly decent lineup of matches, including a World Heavyweight Championship defense, a steel cage match, and a high-stakes tag team bout. With the card set, here’s our predicted match order for the evening:

SNME Match Lineup Predictions

1. Zelina Vega (c) vs. Chelsea Green – Women’s United States Championship

Kicking off the night, Zelina Vega will probably be defending her title against former champion Chelsea Green.

2. Damian Priest vs. Drew McIntyre – Steel Cage Match

The longstanding rivalry between Damian Priest and Drew McIntyre reaches its climax inside a steel cage. After numerous confrontations and interference in each other’s matches, this will likely be the second match on tonight’s card.

3. CM Punk & Sami Zayn vs. Seth Rollins & Bron Breakker

CM Punk teams up with Sami Zayn to face the newly formed duo of Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker. This will probably be at the mid point of the night’s card.

4. John Cena vs. R-Truth – Non-Title Match

John Cena, the Undisputed WWE Champion, faces R-Truth in a non-title match. This will probably be the penultimate match of the night and should be quite an emotional one.

5. Jey Uso (c) vs. Logan Paul – World Heavyweight Championship

Jey Uso will be defending his World Heavyweight Championship against Logan Paul, and it will probably be headlining the card.

US title match added to WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event

A Women’s United States Championship match has been added to this weekend’s WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.

After a backstage altercation between Zelina Vega and Chelsea Green on Friday’s SmackDown, WWE announced that Vega will defend the US title against Green on the Saturday, May 24 Saturday Night’s Main Event show.

Green was the inaugural Women’s US Champion after winning a tournament final at SNME last December. Vega defeated Green for the title on the April 25 SmackDown.

The two-hour Saturday Night’s Main Event airs on NBC beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern time, with five matches now set for the program. The lineup:

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, Saturday, May 24 —

  • World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso defends against Logan Paul
  • John Cena vs. R-Truth
  • Steel cage match: Drew McIntyre vs. Damian Priest
  • CM Punk & Sami Zayn vs. Seth Rollins & Bron Breakker
  • Women’s United States Champion Zelina Vega defends against Chelsea Green

CM Punk and Sami Zayn teaming at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event

The second match for the May 24 WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event is official.

Following an angle on this week’s Raw, CM Punk and Sami Zayn vs. Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker has been added to the Saturday, May 24 WWE SNME special on NBC.

Rollins and Breakker interrupted an in-ring promo segment from Punk and attacked, with Zayn running in to make the save for Punk. Rollins and Breakker still got the upper hand in the brouhaha.

Later on Raw, the tag match was officially announced for SNME. Punk and Zayn then discussed their uneasy alliance in a backstage promo segment, including calling back to their teaming at Survivor Series in a WarGames match last November.

Already set for SNME, Jey Uso will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Logan Paul. The winner of that bout will defend the title against Gunther on the June 9 WWE Raw.

The current lineup for the upcoming episode of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event:

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, Saturday, May 24, 8 p.m. Eastern time on NBC —

  • World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso defends against Logan Paul
  • CM Punk and Sami Zayn vs. Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker (w/Paul Heyman)

Jey Uso vs. Logan Paul title match official for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event

WWE has set a date for Jey Uso and Logan Paul’s World Heavyweight Championship match.

During the broadcast for Backlash tonight, it was confirmed that Uso will defend his World Heavyweight title against Paul on the next edition of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. The episode is being held in Tampa, Florida on May 24 and will air live on NBC and Peacock.

Dave Meltzer first reported that the Uso vs. Paul match was expected to take place on SNME. It will be Uso’s second title defense since winning the World Heavyweight Championship from Gunther at WrestleMania 41. His first defense was a match against Seth Rollins on Raw last Monday that ended in a DQ.

Paul defeated AJ Styles at WrestleMania and has now set his sights on winning the first World Championship of his wrestling career. After Raw last Monday, an off-air angle took place where Paul dropped Uso with a punch and then bragged that he’s now knocked him out three times. He promised to take Uso’s title.

WWE has also confirmed that John Cena will appear on the May 24 Saturday Night’s Main Event episode, but his plans for the show have not been announced yet. Tampa’s Yeungling Center is hosting the event on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend.
