WWE Raw May 19 episode does second-lowest global views & lowest hours viewed in Netflix era

Image: WWE

The May 19th edition of WWE Raw did what appears to be the lowest number of U.S. viewers and the lowest viewer hours the show has done on Netflix.

Netflix’s listings for the show were five million viewing hours and 2.7 million global views.

The 2.7 million figure would tie last week and be ahead of only the 2/24 show (2.6 million), but the five million viewing hours was the lowest for Raw since moving to Netflix.  That number was down two percent, but that is also due to a shorter run time of the show on 5/19 as the replay was cut to one hour and 40 minutes, nine minutes shorter than the prior week.

The show ranked No. 9 worldwide among English language television shows on the service.  It was at best No. 27 among all shows in all languages, as 17 foreign movies and foreign language television shows finished ahead, and at least ten U.S. movies did as well, but it could be far more than ten.

WWE WrestleMania 41 misses Netflix global top ten, Raw April 14 global views up slightly

Image: WWE

Neither night of WWE WrestleMania 41 finished in the top ten on Netflix for the week, which would mean each show did less than 2,700,000 views and likely less than 3,700,000 total viewers outside the United States.

However, while this would figure most viewers for the Saturday show, it may not include Sunday show viewers completely and the Sunday show may make next week’s chart.

The Royal Rumble did crack the top ten, but it did 2,100,000 views as it was an easier week. The Elimination Chamber did not.  For PLE events, the total views do not include the U.S., since the show is on Peacock. For viewership that is listed through Monday, the Saturday Mania was No. 4 for the week in the United Kingdom among English language television shows.

WWE Raw on Netflix viewership for April 14

The 4/14 Raw show, the show before WrestleMania, is listed at 5,600,000 viewer hours and 2,900,000 total views, but once again, to do that would mean almost nobody watched live. The show was shorter than the previous week, but based on people watching both live and not live, that would work out to 2,547,000 viewers and 3,489,000 total viewers with the idea of 1.37 viewers per viewing, which may be a high estimate for streaming.

WWE Raw viewership declines slightly for April 7 episode

Image: WWE

The 4/7 episode of WWE Raw on Netflix looks to have done its second lowest numbers in the U.S. and similarly elsewhere as it declined from last week and was even below most weeks that didn’t include India.

Netflix listed the show as doing 2.8 million views and 5.7 million total viewed hours which would be a drop of 3.4 percent from the prior week based on their numbers.

However, they listed a show time of one hour and 50 minutes. The show went two hours 30 minutes live and one hour 50 minutes for the edited replay put up at least a day later.

Netflix listed Raw as No. 10 for the week among English language television shows and are dangerously close to falling out of the top ten and having no numbers publicly available.

Overall, it was, at best, No. 26 among all shows on Netflix during the past week.

WWE Raw on Netflix March 31 global views slightly down, total viewing minutes up

Image: WWE

Because of adding India to its universe, it’s impossible to get as accurate a gauge on how the March 31 edition of WWE Raw did on Netflix.

Netflix listed it as No. 8 for the week with 5.9 million viewer hours and 2.9 million views. Because the show was ten minutes longer live than the two prior weeks, Netflix had it down three percent overall even though total viewer time was up.

That’s notable because it was down even with adding the audience in India where the first week’s show surprisingly did not crack the top ten among English language shows in that country. It clearly shows that the huge Sony Ten audience Raw delivered, which is in the millions, did not move to watching on Netflix in any significant numbers at all.

But as far as comparing numbers, since they again figured numbers based on the idea almost everyone watched on replay which is not the case, figuring 80 percent got the two hour and 34 minute version last week and 20 percent got the one hour and 51 minute version, that would be 2,650,000 homes and being generous, 3,631,000 total viewers worldwide.

WWE Raw on Netflix viewership for March 24 down from prior week

Image: WWE

The Monday, March 24th WWE Raw show, which was week two of the Cody Rhodes/John Cena debate and Bron Breakker vs. Penta, dropped from the first week of the Cena/Rhodes debate show where Cena blamed the fans.

Netflix listed a 3.2 percent overall drop, listing 5.6 million hours and 3.0 million global views. Some of the decline in minutes was due to running a shorter replay show than the week before but the live show was the same length of time. They listed a run time of one hour and 44 minutes when it was two hours 24 minutes for the first day when the majority of the viewing was.

This was the largest sleight of hand to date. Based on how Nielsen or a television station would track those minutes, it would be 2,471,000 homes and 3,385,000 worldwide viewers or a drop of 11.4 percent from the 3/17 show.

WWE RAW Ratings 2025: Netflix Numbers this year

In January 2025, WWE’s flagship program, Monday Night Raw, made a historic transition from traditional cable television to the streaming giant Netflix. This move marked a significant shift in how wrestling content is consumed, with the company aiming to reach a broader, global audience. As we progress through the year, analyzing the viewership trends provides insight into the show’s performance on this new platform.

WWE Raw’s Viewership Performance on Netflix in 2025

The premiere episode on January 6, 2025, garnered relatively impressive numbers, with 4.9 million global views and an average of 2.6 million households tuning in from the United States. This represented a 116% increase compared to Raw’s average U.S. viewership in 2024.

Following the debut, as is the be expected, viewership experienced fluctuations. The January 13 episode saw a decline to 3.7 million global views. Subsequent weeks maintained a steady range between 2.6 million to 3.1 million views. For instance, the February 3 episode attracted 3.1 million views, while February 24 dipped to 2.6 million, marking the lowest point since the Netflix debut.

Despite these variations, WWE Raw has seemingly secured positions within Netflix’s top 10 English-language shows globally in Q1.

Dave Meltzer on WWE Raw Netflix viewership for February 17

Image: WWE

For the 2/17 edition of WWE Raw, for the first time since going on Netflix, it largely held steady from the week before.

Netflix listed 5.5 million viewing hours and 2.8 million views. However, they once again based it on the idea that almost everyone watched it on the replay. With the live show at two hours and 30 minutes, the replay at one hour and 51 minutes, and 80 percent watching the live feed, that would mean 2.321 million average views and 3.18 million worldwide viewers over the course of the week.

That would translate into approximately 1.32 million viewers as a U.S. plus seven day number and 1.056 million as a same day number which would be equivalent to the Nielsen number that would be used in the past.

Viewership for episode five of WWE Raw on Netflix

For the first time since its premiere on Netflix, WWE Raw has shown a week-over-week increase in viewership.

Netflix lists that the February 3 episode of Raw generated 3.1 million views globally in its first week (February 3-9). The show was Raw’s Royal Rumble fallout episode, taking place two nights after the PLE.

After ranking ninth the previous week, Raw was back up to seventh in Netflix’s weekly top 10 rankings for English-language TV shows. It ranked as a top 10 program in seven countries: Bolivia, Canada, Ecuador, Mexico, Nicaragua, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

The viewership number is up from the 2.9 million views the January 27 episode of Raw did in its first week.

  • January 6 — 5.9 million views (17.7 million hours viewed)
  • January 13 — 3.7 million views (8.2 million hours viewed)
  • January 20 — 3.0 million views (6.6 million hours viewed)
  • January 27 — 2.9 million views (6.6 million hours viewed)
  • February 3 — 3.1 million views (6.1 million hours viewed)

For Netflix’s methodology, views are defined as the total hours viewed for the program divided by the total runtime.

The Night Agent season two, The Recruit season two, American Manhunt: OJ Simpson, Sweet Magnolias season four, Apple Cider Vinegar, and The Recruit season one were the shows that ranked above Raw in the English-language TV category this week.

Viewership for episode four of WWE Raw on Netflix

The January 27 edition of WWE Raw ranked ninth in its category in Netflix’s weekly top 10.

Netflix lists that the Royal Rumble go-home episode of Raw generated 2.9 million views globally from January 27-February 2, placing it ninth among shows in the English-language TV category. The episode had 6.6 million hours viewed in total.

The viewership number is down slightly from the previous week’s Raw.

Here’s a look at the viewership each episode of Raw on Netflix has done in their respective weekly rankings (Netflix defines views as the total hours viewed for the program divided by the total runtime):

  • January 6 — 5.9 million views (17.7 million hours viewed)
  • January 13 — 3.7 million views (8.2 million hours viewed)
  • January 20 — 3.0 million views (6.6 million hours viewed)
  • January 27 — 2.9 million views (6.6 million hours viewed)

Though the PLE was not available on Netflix in the United States due to WWE’s deal with Peacock, the Royal Rumble — which took place on Saturday — ranked 10th in Netflix’s English-language TV show category with 2.1 million views. That’s only counting views that would have been generated through the end of the weekend.

Raw was a top 10 show in five countries this week: Bolivia, Canada, Mexico, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

The Royal Rumble was a top 10 show in 27 different countries, including ranking first in both Bolivia and Mexico.

Netflix publishes its weekly top 10 every Tuesday. The Night Agent season two finished first in the English-language TV category this week with 15.2 million views.

Viewership for episode three of WWE Raw on Netflix

The January 20 edition of WWE Raw ranked seventh in its category on Netflix’s weekly top 10 chart.

Netflix lists that the Raw episode generated three million views globally from January 20-26, down from the first two episodes that had 5.9 million views and 3.7 million views in their respective first weeks. Views are defined as the total hours viewed for the program divided by the total runtime.

Raw had 6.6 million hours viewed in total for the episode.

In the English-language TV shows category, Raw ranked behind The Night Agent season two (13.9 million views), XO, Kitty season two (9.2 million), American Primeval (6.7 million), The Night Agent season one (4.9 million), XO, Kitty season one (3.8 million), and Missing You (3.2 million).

Raw had ranked fourth in the category each of its first two weeks on Netflix.

Squid Game season two again took the top spot in the non-English TV show category with 7.9 million views and 56.7 million hours viewed for its seven episodes.

Netflix’s weekly rankings are posted every Tuesday. The January 20 Raw was a top 10 show in six different countries this past week: USA, Canada, Mexico, Ecuador, Bolivia, and the United Kingdom.

Viewership for episode two of WWE Raw on Netflix

For the second straight week, WWE Raw ranked fourth in its category on Netflix’s viewership chart.

Netflix lists that the January 13 episode of Raw — the second episode since Raw moved to the streaming service — generated 3,700,000 views globally from January 13-19. That was good for fourth among English-language TV shows. Raw trailed American Primeval (14,300,000 views), XO, Kitty season two (14,200,000), and Missing You (5,600,000) in that category.

This is down from the 5,900,000 views that Raw’s Netflix premiere generated in its first week.

In Netflix’s methodology, views are defined as the total hours viewed for the program divided by the total runtime. The January 13 Raw is listed as having 8,200,000 hours viewed. Raw’s Netflix premiere — which was a full three-hour episode — had 17,700,000 hours viewed in the first week.

This week, Squid Game season two was the top-ranked TV show in the non-English language category with 13,200,000 views and 94,800,000 hours viewed.

Week three of Raw on Netflix took place last night. We’ll get viewership information for that episode when Netflix publishes its weekly chart next Tuesday.

Update on viewership for WWE Raw’s Netflix premiere

Some new viewership information is now available regarding WWE Raw’s Netflix premiere episode.

Per data published by Netflix, the episode was viewed 5,900,000 times globally from January 6-12, which means an additional one million views were added after the initial two-day viewership number that WWE and Netflix touted. The three-hour episode generated a total of 17,700,000 hours viewed.

Netflix defines views as “total view hours for the program divided by the runtime.”

Raw ranked fourth among English-language TV shows on Netflix for the week, trailing “Missing You,” (15,200,000 views), “American Primeval” (10,400,000 views), and the docuseries “Jerry Springer: Fights, Camera, Action” (7,700,000 views).

Season two of “Squid Game” — which is ranked as a non-English language show — was the top TV program on Netflix with 26,300,000 views. “The Breakthrough” also had 10,600,000 views and “Squid Game” season one had 8,700,000 views in the non-English language category.

The Raw premiere ranked as a top 10 show in 26 different countries.

In their press release last week, WWE and Netflix stated that — in the United States — the premiere averaged 2.6 million households in live and same-day viewing.

Viewership data for Raw’s second episode on Netflix — which took place from San Jose, California last night — is not available yet.

WWE & Netflix tout ‘strong’ viewership for Raw premiere

WWE and Netflix are touting that Raw got off to a strong start with a big viewership number for its premiere episode on the streaming service.

In a press release issued on Thursday, WWE and Netflix stated that Monday’s Raw episode averaged 2.6 million households in the United States in live and same-day viewing. Globally, the viewership number was nearly five million.

“Netflix and WWE, part of TKO Group Holdings, today announced that the debut episode of RAW on Netflix got off to a strong start, with the Monday night program capturing 4.9M Live+1 views globally,” the press release said.

“The inaugural event on Netflix averaged 2.6 million households (Live+SD) in the US, according to VideoAmp, which is 116% higher than RAW’s average 2024 US audience of 1.2 million households, and higher than any other Monday Night RAW broadcast in the past five years. The event also more than doubled the A18-49 audience vs. last year.”

Views are defined as “total view hours for the program divided by the runtime,” which Netflix says is their “nearest proxy for average minute audience at the household level and does not include co-viewing.”

Raw was held at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles on Monday and was headlined by CM Punk defeating Seth Rollins. John Cena, The Rock, The Undertaker, and Triple H all made appearances on the show.

The press release also states that WWE generated more than 223 million social views across its platforms on the day of the Netflix premiere, which is more than any Raw episode in 2024.

San Jose, California will host the second episode of Raw on Netflix with the show set to take place from the SAP Center next Monday (January 13).
