TNA Wrestling announces re-signing of former Knockouts Champion

TNA Wrestling has re-signed Ash by Elegance.

The former Dana Brooke in WWE has been out of action since September but revealed that she “was back” on last week’s episode of Impact. Elegance announced the news in an interview with Denise Salcedo of Instinct Culture on Wednesday, also revealing she has been officially medically cleared to return.

“There have been so many amazing things that have happened in the last couple of weeks, since TNA’s debut on AMC.

“One of those things is that I got some amazing news from my medical team and the doctors – that I am medically cleared. And I am very excited to announce that I have re-signed with TNA.

“It’s great to have a company that’s behind me and is holding my hand every step of the way.”

TNA posted a video on Wednesday of Ash by Elegance signing her contract alongside Carlos Silva and Tommy Dreamer.

“I promise you, I’m not going to disappoint,” Elegance says in the video. She also alluded to the contract including a bonus should she regain the Knockouts World Championship.

TNA also confirmed the signing of Elayna Black on Wednesday.

Elegance vacated the TNA Knockouts World Championship at Victory Road on September 26, 2025, stating at the time that she was “no longer able to compete.” On last week’s Impact, Elegance got physically involved in an angle with the Elegance Brand and Indi Hartwell, Xia Brookside, and Lei Ying Lee. During a backstage interview, the group’s Personal Concierge said they should plan a “comeback party” for her return.

Elayna Black ‘was hesitant’ to join TNA due to WWE partnership

Elayna Black discussed why she was initially hesitant to sign with TNA Wrestling during a recent appearance on Busted Open Radio.

Black debuted for the promotion on the Impact on AMC debut show on January 15. Her in-ring debut with the company is set to air on Thursday’s episode.

“I love TNA. I grew up watching both TNA and WWE. My first ever wrestling event was actually a random TNA house show,” Black said.

“Last year when I was with NXT, I came to TNA for a few months and I had so much fun. I loved everybody there, I loved the environment, I loved the company, I love the product that they put out.”

Black was part of WWE roster cuts made public on May 2, 2025. She wrestled for several independent promotions from June to July including Seth Rollins’ Black Label Pro and GCW. Then on July 21, she announced she was taking a break from wrestling, citing mental health.

Black was asked about the WWE and TNA relationship, and said that she was hesitant to join TNA because of it.

“More so in the beginning, I was hesitant about coming to TNA just because of how close the relationship was. I kind of felt like I needed to distance myself, which I think it was good me taking that time off. I feel very more removed than I did at the time.”

Shortly after Black debuted for the promotion, it was reported that her deal with the company was for a year. She said on Busted Open Radio, however, that she plans to be with TNA for “the long run.”

“I’m here for the long run. I don’t plan on going anywhere anytime soon. I want to keep progressing my career in TNA,” she said.

When asked what her goals are for the future, she answered: “Have fun and be the best version of Elayna Black I can be.”

TNA Knockout reveals she’s ‘100%’ healed after neck surgery

Steph De Lander says she is 100 percent healed and ready to return to the ring.

De Lander underwent neck fusion surgery on her C5 and C6 vertebrae in October 2024. She has been out of action since TNA’s television tapings in Florida last August.

De Lander posted to X on Wednesday stating that she has been cleared by her surgeon to return to the ring but is seeking guidance from medical professionals to ensure she can do so safely. She tagged WWE, TNA, and AEW in the post.

De Lander wrote:

“My neck is 100% healed and I have been cleared by my surgeon to return to the ring. I need guidance from a medical professional to ensure safety so I can get back to doing what I love. I have asked so many times. Can anyone help me @ThisIsTNA @WWE @AEW ???”

De Lander and her husband, Mance Warner, signed multi-year contracts with TNA Wrestling last October. De Lander accompanied Warner during his appearance in the Feast or Fired match on last week’s episode of Impact.

TNA confirms signing of recent roster addition

TNA Wrestling has announced some more contract news, confirming that Mr. Elegance is officially signed to the company.

The Mr. Elegance character debuted this month as the culmination of a storyline where The Elegance Brand held a talent search looking for a new member. It was said that the winner of the talent search would receive a one-year TNA contract — and AJZ (Andreas John Ziegler) was unveiled to be Mr. Elegance on TNA Impact’s AMC premiere. He confirmed during an appearance on the Battleground Podcast that he is now signed to TNA.

AJZ graduated from the Firestar Performance Center in Greensboro, North Carolina in 2019 and has competed on the indies for promotions like Ohio Valley Wrestling.

The Elegance Brand also includes Ash By Elegance (the former Dana Brooke), Heather By Elegance (Heather Reckless), M By Elegance (Maggie Lee), and their Personal Concierge (George Iceman). Heather & M became the new TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champions when they won the belts from The IInspiration on Impact’s AMC premiere.

Along with that title win, The Elegance Brand got some good news recently with Ash By Elegance declaring that she’s now “back.” She had been working to get medically cleared from an undisclosed issue that seemed like it could end her in-ring career.

The start of 2026 has been a busy period for TNA contract news with Nic Nemeth among those who have signed new deals to stay with the company.

Killer Kelly releases statement on TNA departure

Killer Kelly has released a statement regarding her departure from TNA Wrestling.

Kelly last wrestled for the promotion at its tapings in El Paso, Texas, on December 6-7, 2025. In her statement, Kelly said she was offered a contract extension but ultimately “decided not to go that route.” She thanked TNA Wrestling and stated she’s available for bookings.

Kelly’s statement reads:

“My time with TNA has come to an end.
I know this is a long time coming, but y’all deserve to read something coming from me.
A contract extension was offered, but in the end we’ve decided not to go that route. And that’s totally fine!
I love TNA, and my time there was full of ups, and very few downs. I’ve been apart of this amazing team and I’m really thankful for that, especially for the lifelong friends I’ve made along the way.
I’ve grew so much as a performer/ wrestler, the team made me look like an absolute superstar with my promos (which were the f*cking coolest ever), and I had the opportunity to make history with the FIRST EVER Women’s Dog Collar match on tv. We weren’t allowed to bleed because someone used all the blood tokens (you all know who he is ahahah), but we still did a really great job, made history and will definitely go down as one of the best storylines/ tag team creations of all of TNA.
I wish I could’ve done much more than to be part of the longest reigning TNA knockouts tag team champions (which is so cool), but that’s ok! I’ve done plenty, and I’m really proud of myself and so happy that I was allowed to do and create so much. I also gave my all, don’t get me wrong, especially coming back 7 months after having a baby and going straight to having a Chain Match (another first ever!!!), so I’ll definitely pat my own back for a little bit.
But mainly, I want to thank Scott, Gail, Tommy, Bravo and Ingrid for helping bring me to the United States, bet on me and help me make history. Also thank you to Jimmy, Robert and Hunter for making me look the like baddest ass in the whole planet. And Basil for getting me into the door!
But I’m not done yet, and you’ll definitely see me on TV soon 🩸
I’m also available for bookings, worldwide kellywrestling@gmail – [email protected]

Kelly joined TNA Wrestling full-time in 2022 and is a two-time Knockouts tag team champion along with Masha Slamovich as MK Ultra. She also challenged her former partner for the Knockouts World title on June 20, 2025, in a Dog Collar match, won by Slamovich.

Kelly is engaged to new AEW-signee Myron Reed of The Rascalz. The couple welcomed their first child together in November 2024. Her statement is below:

Trey Miguel issues new statement: ‘I felt like wrestling hated me’

Trey Miguel has issued a new statement.

Miguel returned to TNA Wrestling on Thursday night’s episode of Impact. Along with the other members of the Rascalz, Miguel was expected to debut with AEW earlier this month. However, he was released shortly after signing with the promotion due to an insensitive social media post he made in 2020.

Miguel posted to Instagram on Saturday, writing:

“I came very close to quitting. My heart was broken.. I felt like wrestling hated me to be quite honest. I hadn’t felt a hurt or a loss like that in a very long time. I didn’t answer calls or texts and I spent a little over a week contemplating what’s next. I felt like my dream died as quickly as it was realized. But it’s in moments like this that god will show you how strong you actually are. But if it weren’t for the support system that God has blessed me with I don’t know if I would have been able to turn that decision around.

I’m not everyone’s favorite wrestler, I don’t strive to be. I strive to make a kids dreams come true who had a very hard childhood and only ever wanted to be one thing, a pro wrestler. Words can’t describe how eternally grateful I am for @tnawrestling for saving this dream for me. And to the ones who encouraged me to stick it out I will forever be in debt to. If you supported me through this, I love you. If you didn’t, I still love you. There’s no room in my heart for hate. Now with that being said I have to show the world what I’m made of and I’m just thankful to still have that opportunity. 🙏🏽💚”

Miguel returned to TNA Wrestling in the Feast or Fired match on Thursday’s show in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was one of four wrestlers to win a briefcase in the match, with the others being Eddie Edwards, Steve Maclin, and Eric Young. TNA will reveal who received which briefcase on next week’s episode.

As for Zachary Wentz, Dezmond Xavier, and Myron Reed, they have yet to make their AEW in-ring debuts, but they appeared in a backstage segment on last week’s Collision.

Trey Miguel reflects on TNA return: ‘It was hard not to quit’

Trey Miguel has released a statement following his return to TNA Wrestling on Thursday night.

Miguel returned to the company during the Feast or Fired match on Impact. He had signed with AEW and was set to debut with the other members of The Rascalz last week, but was released shortly afterward due to controversial social media posts he made in 2020. Following news of his AEW release, Miguel said he was “taking a break from wrestling.”

After his TNA return, Miguel posted, “I planned to step away from wrestling after the week I went through. It was really hard on me mentally and emotionally. I didn’t think I could do it anymore. Thank you to everyone who had my back, especially @ThisIsTNA. It was hard not to quit. But we can’t give up. Thank you God”

Miguel won one of the briefcases in the Feast or Fired match. As a result, he will either be fired or earn a TNA World, X-Division, or International title shot once the briefcases are revealed.

Having already been released by one company recently, Miguel posted about his Feast or Fired chances, “If this is the fired briefcase I’ll be so pissed.”

Dave Meltzer also addressed Miguel’s situation in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, noting that Tony Khan had attempted to sign Miguel in 2020 but was told by WBD he would not be allowed on television.

“Khan had tried to sign him around that time [early 2020] and been told by WBD that he would not be allowed on television, even though he apologized,” Meltzer wrote.

TNA audio feed keeps running after Impact, No Surrender main event revealed

Viewers watching Impact on TNA+ last night got more than they bargained for.

TNA continued taping matches and segments in Albuquerque last night for future episodes of Impact after the broadcast ended. Our own Joseph Collins noted that the audio feed on TNA+ continued for approximately 15 minutes after Impact went off the air, with details about plans for No Surrender on February 13 accidentally airing.

Collins noted the following:

“After Impact ended on TNA+, for about 15 minutes the commentary for a Rich Swann v. Nic Nemeth match went out over the TNA+ video feed. There was no video, just audio.

During this, it was announced that the No Surrender Main Event will be Mike Santana & Leon Slater v. Nic Nemeth & Eddie Edwards.

It was also revealed that Eddie Edwards was the winner of the World Title contract briefcase in the ‘Feast or Fired’ match.

Also, a storyline plot point will be that Daria Rae encourages Leon Slater to “exchange” his X Division title for a World Title shot. Rehwoldt called this “option C” so the storyline will be everyone in the match is gunning for Santana.

It was also revealed that Rich Swann will beat AJ Francis in the No Holds Barred main event of next week’s show.

The Swann v. Nemeth match will air the night before No Surrender (2/13). TNA realized the audio was going out before the match concluded.”

Full spoilers from the television taping portion of the show are not currently available. TNA is back at Tingley Coliseum to tape future episodes of Impact on Friday, January 23, 2026. The promotion’s next live show will be No Surrender at The Pinnacle in Nashville, Tennessee on February 13.

TNA announces lineup for next week’s Impact

TNA Wrestling has announced the lineup for next week’s Impact.

The main event will be a No Holds Barred match between Rich Swann and AJ Francis. The match comes after Francis defeated Swann in the opener of Saturday’s Genesis pay-per-view.

Nic Nemeth vs. BDE is scheduled for the show as well. The match was set up in a backstage segment on this week’s Impact, with Nemeth berating the popular YouTube star and others for playing video games in the locker room.

Elijah will wrestle Jason Hotch of Order 4.

“Who will step up to Elayna Black?” is also advertised and TNA will reveal the briefcases from this week’s Feast or Fired match. Eddie Edwards, Trey Miguel, Steve Maclin, and Eric Young all earned briefcases in the match.

TNA Impact lineup for Thursday, January 29, 2026:

  • No Holds Barred: AJ Francis vs. Rich Swann
  • Nic Nemeth vs. BDE
  • Elijah vs. Jason Hotch
  • Elayna Black vs. TBA
  • The Feast or Fired briefcases will be revealed

Ash By Elegance announces ‘she’s back’ on TNA Impact

Ash by Elegance, formerly Dana Brooke in WWE, is back.

During Thursday’s broadcast of TNA Impact on AMC, Elegance became physically involved in an angle with Indi Hartwell, Xia Brookside, and Lei Ying Lee. The Elegance Brand was interviewed backstage shortly afterward, where the group celebrated Ash’s comeback.

The personal concierge told Elegance:

“You are now officially part of a very special club, an elite club. A club of Michael Jordan, Muhammad Ali, Tiger Woods. The comeback club! And you know what? We need to plan a big elegance comeback party!”

Elegance has not wrestled since vacating the TNA Knockouts World title at Victory Road in September, saying at the time that she was “no longer able to compete.” The nature of what prevented her from wrestling has never been disclosed. Her last match took place at the TNA TV tapings on September 5 in Minneapolis. She later referred to herself as “retired” during a virtual signing the following month.

Report: TNA ‘has been in talks’ for return of released AEW wrestler

According to a new report, Trey Miguel could be headed back to TNA Wrestling.

Fightful Select reports that the promotion “has been in talks” to bring Miguel back following his recent release from AEW.

Along with Zachary Wentz, Dezmond Xavier, and Myron Reed, Miguel signed with AEW and was set to debut with the rest of the group at last week’s AEW show in Phoenix. The group ultimately debuted in a backstage segment on Collision without Miguel. It was later reported that he had been released from the company shortly after signing. The decision was said to have come from Warner Bros. Discovery due to a controversial social media post by Miguel in 2020.

Miguel had been with TNA since 2017 before his contract expired at the end of 2025. In 2020, he remained with the company while Wentz and Xavier signed with WWE and went to NXT. Miguel is a two-time X-Division Champion and also held the TNA World Tag Team titles alongside Wentz.

TNA Impact live results: Jeff Hardy vs. Mustafa Ali

TNA Impact is live on AXS tonight.

The second show as part of the company’s new media rights deal will take place at the Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Jeff Hardy vs. Mustafa Ali is scheduled for the show. The two were on opposing sides of a six-man tag last week, when The Hardys and Elijah defeated Order 4.

TNA World Champion Mike Santana will appear on Thursday’s show. Santana defeated Frankie Kazarian to win the title on last week’s episode and then successfully defended it on Saturday at Genesis.

Feast or Fired returns to TNA on tonight’s show. One competitor will win a briefcase containing a future title shot, while another will receive a pink slip.

Elayna Black will also speak on the show. In addition, The System will announce a new member, and Indi Hartwell will go one-on-one with M By Elegance of The Elegance Brand.

Our live coverage kicks off at 8 p.m. Eastern.

***************

LIVE! From the Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Tom Hannifan & Matthew Rehwoldt were on commentary.

A recap of last Saturday’s Genesis pay-per-view opened the show.

Carlos Silva came out with Hannifan and Rehwoldt to open the show. Hanifan asked Silva if he was proud of last week’s debut show on AMC. That’s just mean spirited. Oh wait, he was being serious? Anyway Rehwoldt kicked it to the opening match.

Cedric Alexander v. Moose (w/ Alisha Edwards)

Moose is still owed a X Division title show from losing the title back in June. The story of this one was Moose’s bad back fromS Saturday carrying into tonight’s contest. The fight goes to the apron early and Moose takes a back bump on the apron. Moose tried to powerbomb Alexander on the apron but he escaped and caught Moose with a dive through the ropes. Moose sent Alexander into the ring steps. Moose tried to suplex Alexander on the floor, but his back couldn’t hold up and Alexander reversed the move.

Back in the ring, Moose hit a frog splash for a near fall. Alexander hit a couple of punt kicks on Moose’s back for a near fall. Moose battled back with chops, but ran into a boot and a flatliner. Moose came back with a scissor kick, an uranage and a senton, then kipped up. Moose dropped Alexander with a hanging tree sit-out powerbomb (Go to Hell!) for two. Alexander ducked a spear and caught Moose with a Michinoku Driver for two. This match is already worlds better than anything on last week’s show.
Moose and Alexander exchanged chops, with Moose still selling his back. Moose went for a rolling forearm but Alexander cut him off with his own forearm. Moose came back with a boot, but Alexander hit a Spanish Fly for two. Alexander sprung off the ropes but ran right into a headbutt from Moose.

Moose charged in for a spear, but Alexander countered. Moose went for another uranage, but Alexander countered that too. Moose then tried for a powerbomb, but Alexander rolled through that and rolled up Moose to get the pin. Great match!

Match Result: Alexander pinned Moose (9:55).

They also managed to run the whole match with a commerical break (at least on TNA+).

Mike Santana Addressed the TNA Faithful

Santana entered through the crowd and grabbed a chair from under the ring to sit for a chat. He played a voicemail his father left him about how he deserved to be and belong in TNA. Crowd chanted “You deserve it!” for the new champ. Santana detailed all the sacrifices and challenges he faced on his way on the top spot to TNA. His back may be against the wall with Nic Nemeth waiting to call his shot, and someone in the “Feast of Fired” match winning a title shot, but he’s most comfortable with his back against the wall, and he deserves to be here.

— Gia Miller interviewed Order 4. The sound was really bad for this, with the crowd noise louder than Ali. The Hardys call themselves the goats, but Ali thinks they’re just sheep. Ali v. Jeff is the main event of tonight’s show.

M by Elegance (w/ the Elegance Brand) v. Indi Hartwell

The Personal Concierge insulted New Mexico before the match.

A lot of M’s offense seem to revolve around stomping on Indi’s foot, but she couldn’t remember whether it was the right foot or the left foot and kept going back and forth between them. And Indi didn’t really sell either one anyway. M got a pump kick for a near fall. Hartwell reversed  a suplex attempt with a small package.

Hartwell caught M coming off the ropes with a spinebuster and both women were down. Now Hartwell randomly started selling her foot in between clotheslines and a bulldog. M countered the Hurts Donut with a cradle, but flubbed it. So they went back to the sequence a second time, and this time Hartwell reversed the cradle to get the pin.

Match Result: Hartwell pinned Heather with a cradle on the second try (9:10)

After the match, Heather and M tried to beat up Indi Hartwell, but Ash stopped them. Ash stood off with M and Heather. Xia Brookside and Lei Ying Lee ran in to back up Ash… and Ash immediately turned on them. The Elegance Brand cleaned house on the babyfaces, and I guess Ash isn’t injured anymore.

The TNA Injury Report

  • Elijah will not miss any ring action after reaggravating  his injuries.
  • Frankie Kazarian is out after the Texas Death Match + a broken hand he suffered against Bear Bronson.
  • The Hardys are beat up, but cleared.

— The Elegance Brand are off to plan the comeback party for Ash.

Feast for Fired: Mance Warner (w. Steph DeLander) v. Home Town Man v. Eric Young v. Eddie Edwards v. Brian Myers v. Steve Maclin v. Trey Miguel v. Rich Swann v. AJ Francis v. Ryan Nemeth v. Jason Hotch v. Jon Skylar

The Rules, which are not at all convoluted:

  • Three briefcases contain contracts for title matches (Word, X-Division, and International Titles)
  • A Wrestler must get his briefcase and leave the ring, with both feet touching the floor.
  • The contents of the briefcases will be revealed next week on Impact.

Wait, didn’t Trey Miguel already get fired? Oh, wrong company.

Every dropped to the floor early except for Miguel and Swann so they could do some spots. Francis prevented Miguel from climbing up and tried to climb himself. Miguel hit a dive on a bunch of guys on the floor. Home Town Man could have grabbed a briefcase, but instead he hit his own dive on a pile of guys.

HTM then grabbed a briefcase and went to the mat. But before he could get to the floor, Eric Young pulled his mask off. This caused HTM to drop his briefcase, which Young picked up while he was standing on the floor. So he “won” that briefcase.

Maclin took out the Great Hands and got a briefcase, then got to the floor.

Marce Warner set up some chairs in the ring to powerbomb Eddie Edwards into, but Edwards reversed it and sent Warner into the chairs with a Blue Thunder Bomb. Then on the floor, AJ Francis chokeslammed Rich Swann onto the ring apron, so Hannifan got to shout about how it’s the “hardest part of the ring!”

Nemeth cut Miguel off from getting a briefcase, but Miguel suplexed Nemeth to the mat, grabbed a briefcase and dropped immediately to the floor.

Eddie Edwards got the last case. AJ Francis tried to cut off Edwards from getting out of the ring, but Edwards tossed Francis the case, then dropkicked him. Francis dropped the case, Edwards grabbed it and hit the floor.

Match Result: Eric Young, Steve Maclin, Trey Miguel & Eddie Edwards all got briefcases (8:20).

This match should have stay retired. If I had to guess: Young gets fired, Maclin gets the World title shot, Miguel gets a X Division title shot (and wins it), and Edwards gets the International Title shot.

— Nic Nemeth and Mike Santana came to blows in the back after Nemeth asked Santana how he’ll face his daughter once Nemeth calls his shot and takes the world title.

— Nemeth yelled at the marks in the locker room who are playing video games in the back. BDE stands up for the marks in the locker room, I think, because again the sound from the crowd is louder than the sound in the locker room. And this time the crowd isn’t even making notable noise. Using context clues, I think BDE v. Nic Nemeth is happening next week.

Elayna Black Addressed the Crowd

Black said shes the only woman in the Knockouts Division that matters, because she got 1 million views in 24 hours on “TNA socials.” She has a match next week and it will prove she’s next in line for the TNA Title.

— In the back, Arianna Grace tried to apologize for her father. Santino doesn’t look like he’s buying it at first, but then they hug and seemingly make up?

Mustafa Ali (w/ Order 4) v. Jeff Hardy (w/ Matt Hardy)

Ali is easily the most complete performer on the TNA roster. Ali sold a right hand from Jeff by flying out of the ring to the floor. Back in the ring, Ali grabbed a side headlock, then sent Jeff down with a shoulder block. Jeff went for another right hand, and Ali flew out of the ring to avoid it. Ali got back on the apron, and Jeff sent him face-first into the apron with a dropkick. Ali’s selling is something to behold.

After a conference with Order 4, Ali got back in the ring and back Jeff into a corner and punched him down. Ali taunted Matt, but Jeff stormed out of a corner with a clothesline. Jeff went for a jawbreaker, but Ali countered with a knee and dumped Jeff to the floor.

Matt went to check on his brother. The Great Hands tried to attack Matt, but he fought them off. Tasha Steelz got Matt’s attention, and Agent Zero leveled him with a boot.

Back in the ring, Ali choked Jeff against the ropes. Ali distracted the ref so Steelz could choke Jeff against the ropes. Ali dumped Jeff on the floor and beat on Jeff while the Great Hands beat on Matt. The members of Order 4 rearranged the stairs around ringside. I don’t get how Agent Zero somehow looks smaller in a suit.

Ali and Jeff brawled on the apron near the ring steps. Jeff gave Ali a Twist of Fate onto the steps that had been turned on their side. Ali and Jeff were almost counted out, but make it back into the ring at 9.

Jeff mounts a comeback and hit Ali with forearms and a clothesline, then a double-legdrop to the midsection. Jeff hit an elbow for a near fall. Ali pushed out of a Twist of Fate, then caught Jeff with a dropkick. Ali charged at Jeff, who leapt over him and Ali went face-first into the turnbuckle.

Tasha Steelz tried to get involved but wound up on Ali’s back and Hardy hit them both with a Twist of Fate for a near fall.

Ali dropped to the floor and tried to grab one of the TNA tag title belts. Matt stopped him and got the belt. Matt took out the Great Hands and sent Agent Zero into the ring post.

Back in the ring, Jeff hit Ali with a Twist of Fate, but missed the Swanton. Ali hit the 450, but Jeff kicked out. The crowd was solidly behind Hardy. Ali contemplated another move, but Elijah came out to distract Ali. Hardy hit another Twist of Fate and then a Swanton to get the pinfall.

Match Result: Jeff Hardy pinned Ali (15:29)

After the match, The Righteous talked and THEY STILL HAVEN’T MIC’D ANYONE IN THE BACK PROPERLY. I guess the Hardys/Righteous feud must continue.

Next Week on Impact:

  • Elijah v. Jason Hodge
  • Nic Nemeth v. BDE
  • Elayna Black v. ????
  • The Feast or Fired Cases are REVEALED!
  • AJ Francis v. Rich Swann, NO HOLDS BARRED.

The System’s Newest Member Revealed

I’m not feeling good about this being in the main event slot if this isn’t something of a major name. JDC thanked the fans for the send-off last week, and said he’s hand-picked his successor in the System. And it’s… Bear Bronson.

Bear Bronson came out. Everyone hugged, and then Eddie Edwards dropped and gave JDC a low blow. Bear Bronson and Brian Myers jumped Moose. Cedric Alexander ran in with a chair and “swerved” nobody by also turning on Moose and hitting him with the chair (almost the exact same swerve Ash did an hour ago). Myers jumped back in and beat on JDC some more, and Eddie Edwards told Moose he was out of the System. Alisha Edwards objected to the heel turn and tried to get the System off of Moose and JDC, but it was four-on-two and she couldn’t do much to stop them.

The New System: Bear Bronson, Cedric Alexander, Eddie Edwards & Brian Myers. Maybe with Aisha Edwards.

After the Show:

On TNA+ the video stopped, but the audio feed continued and several things are spoiled for anyone still listening to the feed. So far they’ve given away the finish of next week’s main event, who has the World title contract from the “Feast or Fired” match, and the main event for No Surrender. Someone finally realized it 15 minutes after the show ended and cut the audio.

Former Sonya Deville ‘never wanted to step away’ after 2020 attempted kidnapping

Daria Rae, formerly known as Sonya Deville, says she didn’t want to take a break from wrestling after she was the victim of an attempted kidnapping in 2020.

In August of that year, a South Carolina man was arrested and charged with attempted armed kidnapping and burglary among other charges, stemming from a break-in at Rae’s Florida residence. She was involved in a storyline with Mandy Rose in WWE that was set to culminate in a hair vs. hair match at SummerSlam. Following the incident, the match stipulation was changed to a Loser Leaves WWE match. Deville lost the match and would not return to the company until the following January.

In a recent interview with Metro, Rae said taking a break from wrestling was not her choice.

Rae said:

“I never wanted to step away. That wasn’t my choice. It was probably what was best for me at the time, so I’m glad people had my personal well-being in mind, but I never wanted to step away.”

“I was chomping at the bit every second I was home, texting the powers that be like, ‘When can I come back? When can I come back?’”

“Obviously, hindsight is 20/20,” she added. “But I was hungry, I was in the middle of it. I had loved the angle and the storyline that Mandy and I did, including Dolph [Ziggler] – [AKA Nic Nemeth] – and Otis.”

“I was kind of just getting my footing, I feel like, as a character on screen. Obviously, we can’t predict the future, and timing wasn’t perfect.”

“I can’t ever look back and be like, ‘Oh I wish that didn’t happen’. Because everything leads to the next thing, and where you’re supposed to be.”

“Look at me now – I’m in TNA, it’s exactly where I’m supposed to be right now, I believe that.”

Rae returned to WWE on the January 1, 2021 edition of Raw in a new authority figure role. Similarly, she debuted in TNA Wrestling as an authority figure on last week’s Impact debut on AMC. Rae also discusses what led to her signing with TNA in the interview, which is available in full here.

Update on TNA Wrestling visa situation ahead of Impact

TNA Wrestling’s visa situation appears to be sorted out, but it may have still impacted wrestlers attempting to travel to tonight’s show.

The company was without several international talents for both Impact and Genesis last week due to visas not being completed in time. Among the affected wrestlers were X-Division Champion Leon Slater and Dani Luna, who had been scheduled to challenge for the Knockouts World Title on Saturday’s pay-per-view.

On Thursday’s edition of Wrestling Observer Live, co-host Lance Storm, who also works as a producer with TNA Wrestling, said that his visa came through on Wednesday. However, Storm noted that it arrived too late for him to travel to tonight’s show in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

“The good news is visas came through, finally,” Storm said on the show. “But they came through yesterday evening.”

He later added: “I will remain home this loop. Others may have managed to get in but, at least, the visa issue is behind us and we can move forward.”

TNA is also taping future episodes of Impact on Friday night at the Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The next live show currently advertised by the company is No Surrender, scheduled for February 13 in Nashville.

Dani Luna posted to X yesterday that she was not in Albuquerque.

The full episode of Wrestling Observer Live is available for subscribers.

Report: Backstage reaction to TNA on AMC debut

Many backstage in TNA Wrestling are aware that the company’s first show on AMC wasn’t good.

Last week’s episode of Impact has been criticized by many fans, although reaction to the promotion’s Genesis pay-per-view on Saturday has been more positive. Fightful Select reported on Wednesday that most understood it fell short of expectations.

“By and large, most understood it wasn’t a good show, although some others will publicly claim it was the kind of show they ‘needed’ to do,” the report reads.

The report also noted that some in TNA felt the general audience did not understand all the challenges the company faced for the show. Although not specifically mentioned in the Fightful report, several TNA wrestlers were unable to appear after their visas were not completed on time. X-Division Champion Leon Slater and Knockouts World Title challenger Dani Luna were among them.

Dave Meltzer addressed the show in last week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, writing:

“Overall, as a new birth, I didn’t see much to it at all. It mostly felt like WWE retreads with no direction at all, no strong promos, The Concierge in the Elegance Brand is good but the Mr. Elegance thing was a one note thing that got old within a minute and the match was really bad. The crowd started out hot, but they weren’t given much until the main event.”
