Frankie Kazarian reveals he’s been wrestling with surgically repaired hand

Former TNA World Champion Frankie Kazarian has been wrestling since last December with a surgically repaired hand.

The veteran took to X Monday to reveal the news, saying he defended the title against Mike Santana last Thursday in the main event of TNA’s AMC debut and the follow-up Texas Death Match at Saturday’s Genesis “29 days out of a surgically repaired fracture of the first metacarpal bone of my right hand.”

He said he suffered the injury during his December 7 title defense against Bear Bronson in El Paso, Texas, that aired that following Thursday.

Kazarian was upbeat for his future, however.

“It didn’t stop me then, it won’t stop me now,” he wrote.

As of now, Kazarian hasn’t been announced for this Thursday’s live Impact from Albuquerque, New Mexico. It’s unknown whether he will take time off to recover now now that the AMC debut and Genesis have passed.

Kazarian held the TNA title for 63 days before losing it last Thursday.

Former Sonya Deville reveals how TNA debut came together, whether she’ll wrestle

Daria Berenato (the former Sonya Deville) had good timing when reaching out to TNA Wrestling about joining the company.

Now known as Daria Rae, Berenato arrived in TNA last week as a new on-screen authority figure. Her debut took place on the company’s AMC premiere — and Berenato revealed in a new interview with Denise Salcedo that she actually reached out to TNA right before news of the AMC deal broke. She viewed the serendipitous timing as a sign that she was making the right decision by returning to the pro wrestling industry.

Berenato departed WWE in February 2025 when her contract with the company was not renewed. She explained to Salcedo that her first contact with TNA actually came shortly after her WWE departure, but she wasn’t ready to get back into wrestling at that time.

“I took a much-needed break, and then as we rounded the end of the year, I just had an epiphany,” she said. “I looked at my wife and I was like, ‘Babe, I think I want to go back to wrestling in some capacity.’ And she was like, ‘Yeah, I think you should.’ So that was kind of it. I had been talking to TNA kind of from the moment I left [WWE]. Because TNA is owned by the same company that Invicta FC the MMA company is owned by — Anthem Sports. So I had met [TNA President] Carlos [Silva] at an Invicta event. We had talked back then, and I just wasn’t ready then. And then I was. So I reached out and I was like, ‘Let’s do this.’ And it happened to be the day before they were going to announce the AMC TV deal.”

Aside from her wife, Berenato did not tell anyone about her TNA debut in advance. She received supportive messages from Natalya, Liv Morgan, CJ Perry (Lana), and Bianca Belair after popping up on Impact.

Berenato said she’s very passionate about her TNA character and is having so much fun putting it together. Working alongside Santino Marella was one thing that drew her to TNA, with Berenato thinking they could have a really fun dynamic as opposing authority figures.

It remains to be seen whether Berenato will ever wrestle again. When asked if we could see her without a suit in TNA, Berenato did not close the door on competing.

“Well, I don’t know. I really like wearing suits,” she told Salcedo. “But if you were to ask me a year ago if you would ever see me in heels, I would have told you no. So anything can happen, I’ll leave you at that.”

Masha Slamovich wrestles first match since TNA departure

Masha Slamovich has wrestled her first match since domestic abuse allegations were made against her in September 2025.

The former TNA Knockouts champion wrestled at a Circle 6 event on Friday, January 16, 2026. The show featured all cage matches, with Slamovich facing Haley J, who later posted highlights from the bout to Instagram.

Slamovich has also been announced for Circle 6’s February 13 show in Hollywood and is booked for a March 1 event with the Maryland-based MCW.

In September, social media posts began circulating alleging physical and emotional abuse by Slamovich toward her boyfriend, former MLW wrestler AKIRA. Slamovich later released a statement addressing the situation, writing, “Up until the beginning of this year, I was in a toxic and mutually destructive relationship. We hurt each other deeply, and in private moments, failed to treat each other with the consideration and respect we both deserve.”

TNA announced shortly after the allegations came to light that it had launched an internal investigation into the matter. Slamovich’s contract with the company is believed to have expired late last year, and she has since been removed from the TNA roster page. At the time, TNA stated that it planned to revist the situation in 2026 and left the door open for her to return.

Highlights of Slamovich vs. Haley J are available below.

Report: AMC executives’ reaction to TNA debut show

While feedback from some has been negative regarding TNA Wrestling’s debut on the AMC network, AMC executives were reportedly “very happy” with the show.

PWInsider reports that the word around AMC on Friday was that executives who attended Thursday’s show at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, Texas were pleased with what they saw.

“The word making its way around AMC yesterday was that execs on site at the Thursday Night Impact premiere were very happy with the show,” writes PWInsider’s Mike Johnson.

Bryan Alvarez addressed his feelings on the TNA AMC debut during the latest episode of The Bryan and Vinny Show. In particular, Alvarez was not a fan of the segment introducing Mr. Elegance to The Elegance Brand.

“Did anyone not leave during this segment? Did anyone stick around after this segment? Vince McMahon would have ridiculed this segment and went ‘No way we’re putting this on TV,'” Alvarez said on the show.

Dave Meltzer also addressed his opinions of the show on Friday’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, saying:

“For a first show where you’ve gotta make an impression, man, it was just a huge, huge disappointment,” Meltzer said on the show.

Report: TNA locker room pushing for signing of former MLW wrestler

A former MLW wrestler could be headed to TNA Wrestling.

According to a report from Jon Alba of Sports Illustrated, Richard Holliday’s name has been brought up in the TNA locker room often of late, with Alba writing that several are “outright pushing” management to sign him.

One pitch for Holliday to be brought into the company was said to be in the role of Mr. Elegance, the member of the Elegance Brand who debuted on the AMC debut show. The role of Mr. Elegance ultimately went to former OVW wrestler AJZ.

Holliday joined MLW in 2018 and formed an alliance with Alex Hammerstone and AEW World Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman known as The Dynasty. He and MJF held the promotion’s tag titles once in 2019 before dropping them to the Von Erichs that November. The Dynasty continued after MJF left the company until early 2022, when Holliday turned on Hammerstone. That December, Holliday announced that he had Hodgkin’s lymphoma. He revealed his cancer was in remission the following summer and resumed wrestling on the independent scene.

TNA Wrestling announces signing of tag team ahead of title match

TNA Wrestling has locked up a tag team that will challenge for the World Tag Team titles at Genesis.

The Righteous, Vincent and Dutch, told Denise Salcedo on Saturday that they have signed with TNA. They are scheduled to challenge Matt and Jeff Hardy on tonight’s pay-per-view.

“The Righteous are here in TNA and we’re excited to see what happens for us in TNA. Everything that we’re doing right now with the Hardys is really exciting and it’s going to play out even bigger,” Vincent said.

“Here to stay,” Dutch added.

TNA later wrote in a press release:

“The Righteous made their jaw-dropping arrival in TNA Wrestling in December at TNA Final Resolution, as they confronted Jeff & Matt Hardy, leading to a series of cryptic mind games with the TNA World Tag Team Champions.”

Vincent and Dutch had been wrestling under the AEW/ROH banner since 2023. In May 2025, the team’s profiles were removed from the AEW roster page. They first appeared on TNA programming last month, confronting the Hardys and beginning an angle set to continue tonight at Genesis.

TNA World title match stipulations set for Genesis after Impact goes off air

The show continued after TNA Impact went off the air on Thursday night.

As Santana was celebrating his TNA World Championship win over Frankie Kazarian, Nic Nemeth’s music hit and he walked to the ring, appearing intent on cashing in his Call Your Shot Gauntlet trophy for a world title shot. However, security pulled Nemeth and Santana apart before Santino cut a promo.

Santino confirmed that Kazarian will get a rematch for the world title against Santana at Genesis, adding that the match will be a Texas Death match. Then newly signed TNA authority figure Daria Rae came out and announced that Nemeth will serve as the special referee.

New TNA World Champion crowned on Impact AMC premiere

Mike Santana is once again the TNA World Champion.

He defeated Frankie Kazarian in the main event of tonight’s Impact on AMC premiere. The finish saw Kazarian attempt his own version of Santana’s Spin The Block rolling lariat but Santana avoided it and hit his own version for the win.

As a result of the win, Santana will now defend the title against the former champion Kazarian at TNA Genesis on Saturday, January 17, 2026.

The title change was the 65th in the history of the TNA World title. Santana becomes the 16th wrestler to win the belt multiple times. His first reign ended after just 32 days. Kazarian’s run with the title ends after 63 days and two title defenses on TNA programming. He defended it against JDC at Final Resolution and then against Bear Bronson on the episode that aired on New Year’s Day.

Dixie Carter appears at TNA Impact on AMC premiere show

Dixie Carter appeared on the debut episode of TNA Impact on AMC.

Carlos Silva brought the former TNA president on stage before the main event. Carter briefly addressed the live crowd, saying:

“I cannot believe 24 years ago. How many of you have watched TNA almost that long? I just want to say from the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you all for being here tonight. What an incredible honor. This company is on AMC launching a brand new chapter. I couldn’t be more proud of the locker room, all of you fans, thank you for everything you’ve done. It’s a very sentimental night for me so thank you so much.”

As Carter finished her speech, Bully Ray came out to the stage and had a brief stare down with his former rival. Bully and Carter hugged before Bully walked to the commentary table.

Carter served as president of TNA Wrestling from 2003 to 2016.

The segment is available below:

Change made to TNA Knockouts World title match at Genesis

A change has been made to the Knockouts World Championship match at TNA Genesis.

During tonight’s debut episode of Impact on AMC, Santino Marella announced that “due to an international visa crisis,” Dani Luna will not be able to make her scheduled match against Knockouts Champion Lei Ying Lee. This led to Sol Ruca and Zaria coming out to the ring, with Ruca suggesting that Zaria challenge for the title instead. Zaria then signed the contract and the match was made official.

Earlier on Thursday, Fightful reported that a number of TNA wrestlers scheduled to be at today’s show were unable to make it due to their visas not being completed on time, with Luna being one such wrestler.

Current TNA Genesis 2026 lineup for January 17th, 2026 | Garland, Texas

  • TNA Knockouts Champion Lei Ying Lee defends against Zaria

New TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champions crowned on AMC premiere

New TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champions were crowned on Thursday.

The Elegance Brand’s Heather By Elegance and M By Elegance defeated The Iinspiration’s Jessie McKay and Cassie Lee on the Impact debut on AMC.

The finish saw interference from Mr. Elegance, the newest member of the Elegance Brand who was revealed before the show. With the referee distracted, he clipped Lee’s knee allowing M to roll her up for the win.

In the back after the match, The Elegance Brand interrupted an interview with Indi Hartwell, with Hartwell saying she’d fight any member of the faction.

Shortly after the conclusion of the match, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful posted to social media that McKay and Lee have finished up with TNA Wrestling and that the pair have interest from outside of TNA, writing, “The IInspiration have finished up with TNA, myself and @FightfulSelect have learned. They have gained interest from companies outside of TNA.”

Live from Dallas, Texas!

Tom Hannifan & Matthew Rehwoldt were on commentary.

“The TNA on AMC era has begun!”

AJ Styles Opens the Show

After clips of TNA’s most recent history, and a nice shot of a pretty full crowd, AJ Styles came out first to welcome of the show. “Welcome to the house that AJ Styles built!” The crowd chanted for “TNA!” and “AMC!” Styles told the crowd they were the “TNA Nation!” and lead the crowd in another “TNA!” Chant.

Elijah and The Hardys vs. Order 4

Elijah came out on stage and asked if people wanted to walk with Elijah. This led to Matt and Jeff Hardy coming out alongside. Justin Lyons, Machine Gun Kelly’s guitarist, played the Hardys theme as they came to the ring.

The match started with all six men brawling in the ring. The babyfaces cleared the ring leading to the commercial break.

Commentary pointed out some actors from the AMC show Dark Winds were in attendance. As was an actor from the upcoming horror film with CM Punk, Night Patrol.

Tasha Steelz attempted to get involved in the match. She entered the ring to distract Jeff Hardy but Matt Hardy ended up giving her and Mustafa Ali a double Twist of Fate for a near fall on Ali. Shortly after, Hotch tagged in for Order 4 but quickly took a big knee from Elijah, a Twist of Fate from Matt Hardy, and a Swanton Bomb from Jeff Hardy for the win.

Match Result: The Hardys & Elijah defeated Order 4’s Mustafa Ali, John Skyler and Jason Hotch

Special Agent 0 attacked The Hardys after the match. Then Vincent and Dutch came out and helped Matt and Jeff to their feet before Dutch gave Death Walks to Matt and Vincent then attached a chain to one of Jeff’s ear piercings. Vincent then cut a promo saying The Righteous will win the tag titles at Genesis.

(Thanks to Ian Carrey for jumping in while the TNA+ Stream was out for about 20 minutes… I mean of course on the biggest night in TNA history the stream is going to crap out.)

— Gia Miller interviewed Frankie Kazarian, but before he could say anything AJ Styles showed up to get in his face. Kazarian thought AJ should “thank him for the house,” which he did. AJ v. Anybody would be a bigger main event than what we’ve got.

— A promo from the X-Division features a lot of guys who are currently not TNA wrestlers, like Jerry Lynn, AJ Styles, Samona Joe and Christopher Daniels. “It’s not about weight limits, it’s about no limits!”

— Vergil Ortiz, Jr. and “content creators from around the world” were shown in the crowd. Along with swaths of empty seats. Eric Young and AJ Francis were also in the crowd. The commentators kept telling us “the stars are out for TNA” and they’re all standing behind empty sections of seats. Various stars of AMC shows were also shown in the crowd, along with Mara Sade and Candice Michelle. Ryan Nemeth ran out to confront the stars and tried to jump the ring barricade. Instead he wound up crotching himself, then getting chopped to the floor by Zahn McClarnon from AMC’s Dark Winds who looked about 80 years old.

Santino Addressed the Crowd

Santino has gotten over his depression. The TNA board has decided that Santino needs some help, which Santino wasn’t so sure about at first until he found out who it was. Santino brought out Daria Rae, the former Sonya Deville, who is in TNA to help with the day-to-day operations. Rae called Santino one of the pillars of the company, which got the crowd to chant his name. Rae said the crowd was one of the best she’s ever been in front of… and of course Rae turned heel on Santino. Rae trashed Santino, doing a bad Stephanie McMahon impression. Daria Rae is the “SUIT” and you “Shut Up when I’m Talking.” (“I” is “Daria.” I would never be so rude) Rae’s first act was to sign a new knockout to TNA,  Elayna Black. Black made her return to TNA after a year. Honestly I’m shocked it wasn’t Mandy Rose. But even with AMC money they can’t afford her.

— AJ Styles told Mike Santana he (AJ) held the company together as long as he could (he left over 10 years ago), and he told Santana to beat Frankie for the title.

The IInspiration v. Heather and M by Elegance (w/ Ash, The Concierge, Perez Hilton and ?) for the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Title

Before the match, The Concierge and the Elegance Brand were in the ring with Perez Hilton. Hilton and the Concierge insulted the crowd. Someone was in the ring, hiding under white feathers. He was revealed as the new Mr. Elegance. It’s clearly not the stage hand they recruited last week, but I don’t recognize him. The Elegance Brand women have “A” “M” “C” on the backs of their trunks. The IInspiration thankfully interrupt this.

The IInspriation rush the ring, knock the Elegance Brand out of the ring and the show immediately goes to break. If you are new AMC viewer, and you’re confused by a show that’s called Total “NONSTOP” “ACTION” having so little action… well you’re not the only one.

The Elegance Brand worked over Cassie. M went for a moonsault, but Cassie got her knees up. Jessie McCay got the hot tag. She went for the cover on Heather, but The Concierge yanked McCay out of the ring. McCay stalked the Concierge around ringside for a bit.  McCay and Lee hit a double-suplex on M, and MR. Elegance distracted the ref. The IInspriation went for their finish, but the ref was distracted again, and Mr. Elegance clipped Lee in the knee, and M rolled up Lee for the pinfall. This was a mess.

Match Result: The Elegance Brand get the Knockouts Tag Team Titles back when M pinned Lee (8:31).

—Stacks and Arianna Grace trashed Santino and Stacks is ready to defend his TNA International Title at Genesis.

The TNA Injury Report:

  • Lei Ying Lee and Xia Brookside are cleared to compete after the attack from Dani Luna, but Harley Hudson and Nyla Grace are not cleared.
  • Steve Maclin is out after getting his eyes scratched out by Arianna Grace until next week.
  • Mike Santana’s arm still hurts, but he’s cleared.

—In the back, Indi Hartwell feels like she has been in limbo since her “Dog Collar Match,” and the Elegance Brand came along to threaten to send Hartwell on a plane back to Australia.

— A video feature on the TNA Knockouts, which does a better job of featuring the current Knockouts than the X-Division vignette earlier in the show did for the X-Division.

Santino Made a Match for Genesis

Santino had a contract and brought out Lei Ying Lee and Xia Brookside. Santino announced that “due to an international visa crisis” Dani Luna will not be at Genesis. Lee has signed an open contract, Zaria and Sol Ruca from NXT came out, and Ruca suggested that Zaria take the spot. So Zaria signed the contract on Santino’s back, and we have a Knockouts title match for Genesis.

— A feature on the TNA World Championship, which included NWA Champions Ron Killings and Ken Shamrock, and Impact World Champions Eli Drake and Pentagon Jr.

— Santino Marella told Cedric Alexander that Leon Slater is also having “visa problems” and the match at Genesis is now Cedric Alexander v. Moose v. Joe Hendry, but not for the X Division Title. Apparently Slater’s “visa problem” is a match on Smackdown tomorrow night.

Genesis Rundown:

  • Rick Swann v. AJ Francis
  • Elijah v. Mustafa Ali
  • Ryan Nemeth v. Mara Sade
  • Lei Ying Lee v. Zaria for the Knockouts Title
  • Cedric Alexander v. Moose v. Joe Henrdy
  • The Hardys v. The Righteous for the TNA World Tag Team Titles
  • JDC v. Eddie Edwards in a retirement
  • … AND MORE.

The System

The crowd gave Eddie Edwards the “WHAT!” treatment while he was talking about this match with JDC. JDC grabbed the mic and got the crowd cut it out by talking about happy he is to wrap up his career in TNA and how much he respected Edwards and his wife. JDC announced that next week in the ring, he will reveal the newest member of The System. JDC respects Edwards, but he isn’t going out like a punk.

— Carlos Silva brought out former TNA President Dixie Carter. The crowd mostly booed while she talked. Then Bully Ray came out, and they hugged. Bully Ray made his way down to the ring to join the commentary team for the main event.

Mike Santana v. Frankie Kazarian for the TNA World Championship

Santana entered through the side of the arena with people in it. After the ring introductions, Karazrian insulted the crowd for being Cowboys fans, and said he was the only star that mattered in Texas. Kazarian then worked the crowd for a few minutes.

Once the match got underway, Kazarian went for the chicken wing early, but Santana escaped. Santana tried for Spin the Block early, but Kazarian ducked. Santana hit Kazarian with a step up rana. Kazarian dropped to the floor to regroup, and Santana caught him with a crossbody to the floor. Kazarian ducked a move for Santana hit dropped him with an overhead belly to belly.

The fight continued on the floor, and Santino hit Kazarian with a springboard crossbody off the apron. Santana went to suplex Kazarian from the ring to the floor, but Kazarian snapped his arm against the ropes. Santana got hung up in the ropes (in a way that didn’t look as ridiculous as that spot usually does), and Kazarian hit him with a springboard legdrop.

Kazarian worked a chinlock, and Santana fought out of it. Kazarian yanked Santana down by the hair. Kazarian went back to the  chinlock.

Santana fought out of the chinlock. He went for the rolling stunner, but Kazarian countered that with a back stabber. Kazarian slapped Santana around a bit, but that just served to fire Santana up. Santana fired back with fists and chops, even after absorbing a boot from Kazarian. Santana hit an enziguri, absorbed another elbow and hit a superkick. Santana hit a rolling stunner for a near fall.

Santana set up Kazarian for a  superplex. Kazarian shoved Santana down, but he popped up and yanked Kazarian down with a Spanish Fly! Santana then countered a piledriver attempt with a Code Red for a near fall.

Santana went for a cannonball in the corner, but Kazarian got his knees up and hit an Angel’s Wings for a near fall. “Someplace CD is smiling.” Yeah, that’s AEW. Kazarian went for the chicken wing, but Santana did the Bret Hart pin from WrestleMania 8 and got a near fall. Kazarian hit a slingshot cutter and a springboard legdrop for a near fall.

Kazarian dropped to the floor and grabbed his championship belt. The ref stopped Kazarian from using the belt. Santana went for his rolling lariat, but Kazarian trued that into a Fade to Black attempt. Santana got into something with the ref, and Kazarian went for a dropkick that hit the ref. Santana hit his rolling lariat, but the ref was down. The ref counted to 8 but there was no ref.

Santana went to check on the ref. Kazarian grabbed the belt and nailed Santana with it. Kazarian the hit Fade to Black on the ring apron. Kazarian rolled Santana back in the ring, but it only got two. Kazarian hit a Canadian Destroyer, but Santana popped up and hit a rolling lariat for two (the ref’s hand hit 3 but Kazarian did get the shoulder up). Santana went for it again, Kazarian kind of dropped down or something, and somehow Santana got a near fall. It was a really messy spot. Kazarian went for a rolling lariat of his own, but Santana ducked and hit a second rolling lariat to get the pinfall and regain the title.

Match Result: Mike Santna pinned Frankie Kazarian to become a two time TNA World Champion (16:50).

TNA shows now end with the same “Produced By…” credits that WWE TV shows do. Well at least there was no cash-in.

Next week on Impact from Albuquerque, NM:

  • The System Introduce a New Member
  • Elayna Black will speak
  • Jeff Hardy v. Mustafa Ali
  • Indi Hartwell v. M by Elegance
  • Feast or Fired is back.

The main event was good, but not good enough to redeem the rest of the show. Instead of showing a video package on the Knockouts, maybe have a good match with the women. Instead of a video package about how good the X Division wrestler are, maybe have a good match with the X Division wrestlers.

But on the biggest night in TNA history: their live stream went down for 20 minutes. They showed “celebrities” in the crowd that were standing behind sections of empty seats. They did video features that featured more performers who’ve left the company than are with the company. They had only 3 matches in two hours.

Also, the ppv that’s on this Saturday has no main event.
