Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch have squashed their beef with Ric Flair.
Rollins appeared on The Pat McAfee Show on Wednesday and spoke about Flair apologizing to him and Lynch backstage at WWE Raw XXX last month.
Rollins said:
I’ll put it out there right now, beef squashed between Ric Flair and Becky Lynch. To be fair, the beef was never on my wife’s side, she never had beef with Ric. Ric had beef with her. He was man enough to come up and apologize to myself and to her and I thought that was awesome because I love Ric and I want to have a ton of respect for him and the fact that he was able to put his ego aside, bygones be bygones, we had a good moment at Raw XXX and he is The Nature Boy, one of the greatest of all time, on the Mount Rushmore on any wrestling list of all time.
Flair had several social media exchanges with Lynch in 2021 regarding her use of “The Man” moniker. He revealed recently on his podcast that he apologized to both Lynch and Rollins backstage at WWE Raw XXX.
Flair said:
I apologized to Becky Lynch. I walked up to her and said, ‘May I speak with you for a minute?’ And I just said ‘I’m sorry that it ever got to where it is.’ I went over and shook Seth Rollins’ hand and I said, ‘I’m going to apologize to your wife.’
Flair continued:
The Man trademark, the whole thing was decided by someone besides she and I. So, if they need to go to war over it… It’s not that as much as it was the money that was involved in it, which the company reached the better part of, anyway. And then I saw her with her child and I thought, ‘God, this will be Ashley some day.’
Rollins appears to be building an angle with Logan Paul. The popular YouTube star eliminated Rollins from the men’s Royal Rumble match and the following week Rollins was critical of Paul during an interview with TMZ. Rollins said the 27-year-old is “just not a wrestler” and should go back to “buying counterfeit Pokemon cards.”
Rollins continued to discuss his feeling about Paul during Wednesday’s episode of The Pat McAfee Show.
No one is just going to suit up and play NFL football because they’re a social media superstar, right? They are going to get creamed. So, he’s going to step into my world and he’s going to get creamed.
He’s in it for himself, he’s in it for himself, he’s in it for his own gain. So, I don’t want you a part of my business if you are just going to leach off of it and you’re going to take from it.
Rollins will challenge for the United States Championship inside the Elimination Chamber in Montreal on February 18, 2023. He qualified for the match by defeating Chad Gable on the January 30 WWE Raw.

Ric Flair says he has apologized to Becky Lynch and made amends with WWE over issues that had lingered the last couple of years.
Speaking on an episode of his podcast released Wednesday, Flair commented on his experience at Raw 30 and conversations he had backstage with Lynch and Triple H.
Flair said:
I felt like I was respected, I felt like I was wanted, I felt like I was part of it again and I walked away a better man, with a better understanding of who I am as a person and what the business is about.
It started out with me and Hunter talking for about an hour, which was a private discussion about resolving a lot of issues that had been lingering for a couple years.
Then I apologized to Becky Lynch. I walked up to her and said, ‘May I speak with you for a minute?’ And I just said ‘I’m sorry that it ever got to where it is.’ I went over and shook Seth Rollins’ hand and I said, ‘I’m going to apologize to your wife.’
Flair would continue to express that he no longer has ill-feelings towards Lynch using “The Man” moniker. He sold WWE the trademark to the name in 2021 but had several social media exchanges with Lynch regarding it in the following years.
It’s not worth it. I’m not The Man anymore. The Man is whoever the people think is and basically we’ve turned it over to social media to decide who The Man is. Does that make sense? It could be Tom Brady, who is still playing. It could be Aaron Rodgers in football. It could be LeBron, who I still think is the man in basketball, he had 46 last night.
I will be, in some people’s mind, The Man forever but you gotta remember I’m sitting there with Taker and Shawn, and I’m 20 years older than those guys and I’m there on Raw, lucky enough to celebrate that moment and that time with these guys that grew up on me and then introduce my daughter and call her what she is, the greatest woman’s champion in the history of WWE.
Flair was released from WWE on August 3, 2021. He then appeared at the NWA 73 anniversary show later that month. The following year, Flair wrestled what was billed as Ric Flair’s Last Match on July 31, 2022 in Nashville. He teamed with his son-in-law, Andrade El Idolo, and defeated Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett.
A slew of former WWE stars, including Ric Flair and The Undertaker, have been advertised for next week’s Raw XXX.
Road Dogg, Ron Simmons, X-Pac, Flair, Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker, Teddy Long, Jerry Lawler, Kurt Angle, and The Bella Twins have been advertised for Raw’s 30th anniversary next Monday in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
This would mark Flair’s first appearance back on WWE television since 2021. In August of that year, Flair was granted his release from the company. In the time since then, Flair has come under fire for sexual assault allegations that were made during an episode of Dark Side of the Ring that focused on the Plane Ride From Hell incident in 2002.
Last month, WWE released a new Ric Flair documentary that streamed on Peacock, which featured a new interview with Flair.

Ricky Steamboat has revealed why he turned down an offer to wrestle in Ric Flair’s last match.
Steamboat spoke with Bill Apter recently and said that he initially agreed to be in the match but backed out after learning that Flair had a pacemaker.
Steamboat said:
“Conrad, who is the promoter, when we talked, I drove to Nashville and we had a sit-down and it was Conrad and his wife and then me and my wife Sandy. I was still training pretty good and feeling pretty good and so I said okay. We hadn’t signed or sealed the deal on the money part of it but what put the nail in the coffin is about a week after that I found out that Flair was wearing a pacemaker.
All these years I never knew. I immediately just said, ‘you know, I don’t think I want to do this.’ I don’t want my legacy to be that I was in the ring if he happened to pass away or something went wrong.
I’ve done some interviews after that when they found out that I said ‘no.’ [It’s] the first time I’m coming public with this. I didn’t want to throw Conrad or Flair under the bus.
Steamboat also spoke about teaming with FTR and defeating Jay Lethal, Nick Aldis, and Brock Anderson at BTW Return of the Dragon last month.
It started out with a little conversation about it being a singles match and I said ‘no I’m definitely not going to do a single.’
Then it got to a tag and then it got to a six-man and then my two partners, FTR, are two boys that I know. I helped train [them] at the WWE school about eight, nine years ago or so. They’re good kids, they’re great hands. So I said, ‘I’ve got a pair of really good guys.’ I finally said yes because I felt I could sprinkle some Ricky Steamboat dust and then I could tag out.

Ric Flair says Jim Ross has lost all credibility with him.
Speaking on the most recent episode of his To Be The Man podcast, Flair was critical of Ross for his appearance on Dark Side of The Ring last year.
“Jim Ross lost every bit of credibility with me in life, in spite of calling me the greatest wrestler of all time or whatever in his induction, when he jumped on Dark Side of [the Ring],” Flair said. “Because all he is starving for and leaning on in life is to be relevant because he ain’t.”
“I can forgive Jim Ross for Dark Side, which I have because there’s nothing worth it, but I don’t appreciate it. Jerry Lawler texted me, I don’t know how many people said, ‘What the f–k did Ross mean? You got to know when to walk away from Ric Flair?’ Well, the WWE learned when to walk away from Jim Ross. I’m going to the 30th reunion, do you think he is?”
“At the same time, Jim Ross will always be my favorite announcer,” Flair would say later. “I’m not diminishing his skills. I’m not like Eric [Bischoff] saying I was no good at anything. I’m telling you Jim was the f—ing best but I also thought he was one of my best friends. A friend doesn’t do that.”
Ross appeared on the September 16, 2021 edition of VICE TV’s Dark Side of the Ring episode covering 2002’s Plane Ride from Hell.
“He’s the life of the party,” Ross said of Flair on the show. “If you know him, you know where to exit the party and go to your own safe place or you don’t know the rules, and you find yourself in deep water.”
When asked why Flair wasn’t suspended or punished for his behavior on the flight, Ross responded:
“Good question. I guess for lack of a better term, he was a made man. He was such a high level made man that he got a pass. Was it the right thing to do? I don’t know. You’re listening to it, folks, you decide. He got a pass.”
Ross later said that he was “misrepresented a time or two” on the show and that he would no longer appear on the series. He did take part in VICE TV’s Tales from the Territories, however, which Dark Side of the Ring creators Evan Husney and Jason Eisener were also involved with
Earlier in the show, Flair also responded to comments Eric Bischoff made about him recently that were critical of his drawing power.
“When are they going to make [a documentary] about him?” Flair asked about Bischoff. “You know why they don’t? Because you can’t find three people to say a good thing about him. Well? Name them. Who?”
Later in the show, Flair mentioned two good things about Bischoff.
“Eric and I have been friends off and on and I respect him for two things: He called me when my son died which is more than a couple other people I can name did. He did the right thing, I swear to god and people will be mad at me for saying this, but when Charles [Robinson] and I wrestled Savage and Madusa and Randy dropped off the top rope and broke Charles’ rib and almost killed him?”
“Randy didn’t give him a f—ing dime. Eric wrote him a cheque for 25 grand. So I will thank Eric for that.”
A new documentary on Ric Flair’s life and career will air on Peacock later this month.
Flair announced on social media Monday afternoon that a two-hour documentary titled “Woooo! Becoming Ric Flair” will air on Peacock the day after Christmas, December 26.
Those interviewed for the documentary, according to the press release, include Hulk Hogan, Mike Tyson, Post Malone, Steven A. Smith, and Charlotte Flair.
“Many stories have been told about The Nature Boy over the past 50 years,” said Flair in the press release, “I’m thrilled to have partnered with WWE and Peacock to produce the most accurate depiction of my life to date and hope audiences enjoy the ride. Woooo!”
“Very few people have professional careers as storied as Ric Flair,” Rod Aissa, EVP of Unscripted Content for NBCUniversal said in the release. “We can’t wait to give Peacock audiences this revealing, in-depth and often raw look into the life of one of sports and wrestling’s most controversial icons.”
This would be Flair and WWE’s first project together since his departure from WWE in the summer of 2021. Since then, Flair wrestled what was billed as his final match in July, teaming with Andrade el Idolo to defeat Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett.
Ric Flair has clarified what he’ll be doing in San Antonio for the Royal Rumble, as well as his thoughts on Eric Bischoff, Andrade, and Sami Zayn in the Bloodline.
Flair addressed these topics and more during an episode of To Be The Man released on Wednesday.
Speaking on the topic of his son-in-law Andrade, Flair said he doesn’t feel AEW has used him right.
“I like the stuff with Matt Hardy but I don’t think they use him properly, myself. I’m going to be, obviously, biased. I think he is a much better singles performer than he is in a tag match,” Flair said.
Flair continued to comment on Andrade recently revealing he suffered a torn pectoral muscle.
“It’s to be determined, I don’t know. I know it was a bad tear, so he’s going to be out awhile with it,” he said.
The 16-time World Champion also addressed the men’s WarGames match and stated he’s not a fan of Sami Zayn in the Bloodline because he feels the character is too comedic.
“Looking at Roman and what Bloodline is and how they conduct themselves, I found him bringing way too much comedy to it. But apparently, it’s worked, so maybe that’s me being old school.”
“I didn’t like it because I thought the kid’s comical, his character’s comical,” Flair continued to say of Zayn.
Flair also stated that he would like to see Tony Khan start his own Hall of Fame someday.
“I wish Tony would start a Hall of Fame, that would create a lot of interest and do it based on people who he thinks were good in the history of the business not just guys from AEW the last three years. That would actually draw a lot of attention if he had his own Hall of Fame,” Flair said.
Flair also clarified earlier comments he made on last week’s show about being invited to the Royal Rumble. He noted that he will not be in the Rumble match or participating in the show itself but rather will be in San Antonio signing autographs on the day of the Rumble.
“I have not been invited to the Rumble. I’m going to San Antonio to sign autographs separately,” he said.
As the conversation turned to Hulk Hogan, Flair said that he always had a good relationship with him. He would continue to say that this is unlike the relationship he had with Eric Bischoff.
“Everybody wants to think there was animosity between me and Hulk. Hulk didn’t sign my cheques, Eric did. Eric f–ked me every time he turned around. When you see my documentary, he’s still a prick in it. Oh, he’s still a prick, he’s an arrogant prick.”
Ric Flair will be returning to WWE for two shows in January.
Flair noted on his To Be The Man podcast that he is scheduled to be part of the WWE Raw 30th Anniversary show in Philadelphia on Monday, January 23, 2023. He also revealed that he will be at the Royal Rumble five days later in San Antonio.
“I’m going to be there,” Flair said about the Royal Rumble.
“They didn’t say don’t tell anybody,” he continued after Conrad Thompson suggested he might not be permitted to release this news.
Flair also addressed being invited to the Raw 30th Anniversary show.
“I have been invited and it’s a f–king big deal,” Flair said. “And for all the people out there who go why? Because it’s Raw and it’s a big f–king deal. Hell yeah, are you kidding me? 30 years, you think about that. Remember when Nitro was just going to destroy Raw?”
“For me, [I’ll] be getting in there Sunday night, I’ll be looking for [Steve] Austin, Undertaker, John Cone, anybody in sight for a cold beverage, and I’ll be buying.”
An actor has been cast to play Ric Flair in “The Iron Claw.”
Deadline reported today that Aaron Dean Eisenberg will play the role of Ric Flair in the Von Erich family biopic. Eisenberg is known for having been part of the cast of the HBO series “The Deuce.”
EXCLUSIVE: ‘The Deuce’s Aaron Dean Eisenberg is set to play the iconic wrestler Ric Flair in A24’s ‘The Iron Claw’ https://t.co/6V6afKjCuA
Deadline noted that the role of Flair is expected to be a cameo:
While the role is expected to be a cameo, Flair played a huge part in the Von Erich’s wrestling legacy when he fought Kerry Von Erich for the NWA Championship Belt in 1984.
Kerry Von Erich won the NWA World Heavyweight Championship from Flair at the first Von Erich Memorial Parade of Champions, which took place in May 1984 following the death of Kerry’s brother David Von Erich.
“The Iron Claw” is also set to feature Zac Efron (Kevin Von Erich), Harris Dickinson (David Von Erich), Jeremy Allen White (Kerry Von Erich), Holt McCallany (Fritz Von Erich), Maura Tierney (Doris Von Erich), Lily James, and AEW World Champion MJF (Lance Von Erich).
Production on “The Iron Claw” is currently underway. The movie is from A24 films and is being directed by Sean Durkin.
Ric Flair believes that a new WWE-produced documentary on his life will be released by the end of 2022, either during the week of Thanksgiving or the week before Christmas.
He also would love to return to the company.
Talking on his weekly podcast, Flair said he thinks the documentary will be called Finding Flair, adding that this latest look at his life will be “better” than the 2017 ESPN-produced 30 for 30 documentary by Rory Karpf.
“This will be better than my 30 for 30 on ESPN because I made them promise me that whatever I said, they wouldn’t edit. I’m not going to do something that’s going to be edited again,” he explained. “I was passionate and I expressed everything that I thought was good or bad in my life. I discussed my personal life, my personal problems, family problems, wrestling problems, issues with people that I have had. I just answered questions and I answered them as truthfully as I could.”
Joining Flair on this journey is veteran broadcaster and storyteller Tom Rinaldi of Fox Sports. Flair said he talked with Rinaldi for 12 hours for the project which was first announced in June.
In this week’s podcast, Flair also said he would “love to return to the company and do stuff with them” but wasn’t sure what that would be. He appears to have made amends with WWE after he was released from his contract in August 2021 due to creative differences.
He later said he could never work with WWE co-CEO Nick Khan again, but could work with Vince McMahon. That stemmed from hurt feelings when Flair’s trademark “Whooo!” was removed from the open of WWE programming following the infamous “Plane Ride from Hell” episode of Dark Side of the Ring.
Wrestling Observer Live with Bryan Alvarez and Mike Sempervive is back with tons to talk about including AEW Dynamite from last night, the Trios Tournament, Ric Flair’s last match, Chris Dickinson filing suit, and tons more. A packed show as always so check it out~!
