The New Day and The Revival are set to face off for the SmackDown Tag Team titles once again.
Kofi Kingston & Big E will defend their titles against The Revival at this month’s TLC pay-per-view. The match was confirmed for the PPV after The Revival won a fatal four-way number one contender’s elimination match on tonight’s SmackDown.
The number one contender’s match came down to The Revival vs. Mustafa Ali & Shorty G, with The Revival hitting the Shatter Machine on Shorty G to get the win. The elimination match also included The Lucha House Party and Heavy Machinery.
The New Day’s current SmackDown Tag Team title reign began when they won the titles from The Revival on the November 8 episode of SmackDown. The Revival got a rematch the next week, but it was interrupted by NXT’s Undisputed Era.
TLC is taking place at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota on December 15.
Former NXT Tag Team Champions The Revival are returning to Full Sail University on Wednesday night.
WWE has announced that NXT Tag Team Champions The Undisputed Era (Kyle O’Reilly & Bobby Fish) will face The Revival (Scott Dawson & Dash Wilder) in a non-title match on Wednesday’s NXT. It’s the go-home show for TakeOver: WarGames and the last episode of NXT before Survivor Series.
All four members of Undisputed Era interrupted The New Day’s SmackDown Tag Team title defense against The Revival this past Friday. After the show, The Revival cut a promo on O’Reilly & Fish and have been going back and forth with them on Twitter since.
O’Reilly & Fish will face The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Big E) and Raw Tag Team Champions The Viking Raiders (Ivar & Erik) in a non-title triple threat match at Survivor Series on Sunday. The Revival were originally announced for that match before dropping the SmackDown Tag Team titles to Kingston & Big E.
On last night’s Raw, Triple H cut a promo saying that there would be an “open door” for Raw and SmackDown on Wednesday’s NXT. Adam Cole will face Dominik Dijakovic in a ladder match for the WarGames advantage on the episode, and WWE has also announced a triple threat match between Pete Dunne, Damian Priest, and Killian Dain.
The winner of Dunne vs. Priest vs. Dain will challenge for Cole’s NXT Championship at Survivor Series.
WWE has announced two matches and a segment for next week’s post-Crown Jewel episode of SmackDown.
Before their match against Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode on tonight’s show, it was announced that The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Big E) will challenge for The Revival’s SmackDown Tag Team titles next Friday.
Roman Reigns vs. King Corbin has also been confirmed for next week’s SmackDown, and Bray Wyatt will appear on Miz TV the day after challenging for Seth Rollins’ Universal Championship in a falls count anywhere match in Saudi Arabia.
New Day & Heavy Machinery defeated The Revival, Ziggler & Roode on SmackDown last week, with Xavier Woods getting the pin on Scott Dawson. Tonight, Ziggler pinned Kingston with a roll-up in their tag match. The Revival attacked Kingston & Big E after, but Heavy Machinery came out to make the save.
Kingston & Big E, The Revival, Ziggler & Roode, and Heavy Machinery will all be part of the World Cup tag team turmoil match at Crown Jewel.
Reigns, Ali, Shorty G (Chad Gable), Ricochet & Rusev will be on Team Hogan for the five-on-five tag match against Team Flair at Crown Jewel. Corbin, Shinsuke Nakamura, Randy Orton, Bobby Lashley & Drew McIntyre will be on Team Flair.
Reigns, Ali & Gable defeated Corbin, Nakamura & Cesaro in the main event of tonight’s SmackDown. There was then an angle where Corbin attacked Reigns during an interview on WWE Backstage.
SmackDown will be back on FOX next week after tonight’s episode aired on FS1 due to the World Series.
– SmackDown tag team champions The Revival notched a win against Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins.
– Cesaro stood out like a sore thumb in a loss to Cedric Alexander.
– Byron Saxton (in place of the absent Vic Joseph) led the commentary team alongside Dio Maddin and Mickie James.

SmackDown Tag Champions The Revival defeated Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins (5:13)
Although Ryder and Hawkins currently find themselves undrafted, The Revival returned to the SmackDown roster on Friday, along with their tag team titles. Yet, they were on Main Event. For tag team titleholders, the company hardly view them as the ‘Top Guys’ they claim on their trunks.
The match was an excellent example of a tag team working smoothly together to cut the ring in half and take out their opponent. But it wasn’t that classic heel team doing slow and methodical as there were lots of tricks and sneaky double-teams here.
The Revival took all of the match until Hawkins got a hot tag in the last minute. It was short-lived and ended in Ryder being sent outside so that Dawson and Wilder could combine to hit Hawkins with the Shatter Machine for the win.
Cedrick Alexander defeated Cesaro (7:15)
Cesaro is great every time he’s on television and he’s an absolute master in the ring. Watching him over the last few weeks on this show cements the fact that he’s being utterly wasted at the moment. Cesaro in New Japan or AEW would make an intriguing prospect.
Working this short of style where high spots are followed by mat work or rest holds doesn’t really suit either of these performers. The headlock and abdominal stretch spots here were met with disinterest at best.
Cesaro took the majority of the match and even resorted to just bullying and shoving Alexander who couldn’t offer anything more by the end of the match. So when Alexander won, it came against the run of play. Alexander hit a rather sloppy Lumbar Check to snatch the win from the jaws of defeat.
It’s results like this on shows like this – and after becoming a ‘free agent’ on Friday – that mean that at the age of 38, Cesaro probably ought to be considering his options.
SmackDown takes place from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia tonight and features the fallout from Clash of Champions.
The New Day will take on Randy Orton and new SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Revival in a six-man tag match. WWE Champion Kofi Kingston defeated Orton on Sunday night to retain his title, but The Revival defeated Xavier Woods and Big E for the tag titles.
Erick Rowan sits down for an exclusive interview tonight. He defeated Roman Reigns at Clash of Champions with help from the returning Luke Harper. WWE is hyping that Rowan promises to answer questions regarding the attacks on Reigns.
Shane McMahon will also address Kevin Owens’ “firing.” McMahon forced Owens to referee his King of the Ring semifinal match against Chad Gable last week. McMahon blamed Owens for losing and fired him after the match.
Baron Corbin defeated Gable in the King of the Ring finals last night on Raw. King Corbin’s coronation takes place tonight.
Our live coverage begins at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

They also announced Charlotte Flair vs. Sasha Banks for later tonight.
The New Day defeated Randy Orton & The Revival
They started with the six-man tag match and not a lengthy promo, which was a nice change.
Big E caught Dash Wilder with a belly-to-belly suplex to start the match. He followed up with the splash on the apron. Wilder attacked Woods’ injured knee to take over briefly. Kofi Kingston got the tag and caught Orton with a dropkick. The New Day fired back and used triple team moves to take back over.
Back from the break, the heels regained control and isolated Woods in their corner. They worked over Woods injured knee. Woods fought back and went for a DDT, but Wilder dumped him on the floor. Orton then gave Woods a back suplex on the announce table.
During the break, Scott Dawson attempted a superplex, but Woods pushed him off and hit a missile dropkick. Kingston got the hot tag and ran wild on the heels. He hit the SOS on Orton, but Dawson broke up the pin.
On the floor, Big E ran over Dawson with a clothesline. Wilder rocked Big E with a tornado DDT off the apron. Kingston then caught Wilder with a dropkick. He attempted a dive, but Orton hit the draping DDT.
Orton and Revival set up for the RKO Machine, but Big E pulled Orton out of the ring. Woods then hit an elbow off the top on Wilder. The finish came when Kingston hit the Trouble In Paradise on Dawson for the win.
The New Day celebrated the win after the match.
Suddenly, Brock Lesnar’s music hit and he made his way down to the ring with Paul Heyman. Kingston then sent Big E and Woods away. Kingston stood alone in the ring as Lesnar and Heyman entered.
Heyman noted Lesnar stands in the way of the longevity of Kingston’s title reign. Heyman said his client authorized him to inform Kingston it’s a bad day for the New Day.
Heyman then challenged Kingston to defend the WWE Championship against Lesnar on Friday, October 4th for SmackDown’s debut on FOX. Kingston promised to be a fighting champion and accepted the challenge. Lesnar attacked Kingston and gave him the F-5. Kingston defending against Lesnar on Friday Night SmackDown’s FOX debut is official.
In the back, Kayla Braxton interviewed Sasha Banks and Bayley. Banks promised to defeat Becky Lynch in Hell in a Cell.
Erick Rowan sat down for a sit-down interview with Michael Cole. Cole asked about Luke Harper, but Rowan doesn’t want to answer questions about him. Cole pointed out that Rowan almost killed Roman Reigns, but Rowan told Cole to lower his voice.
Rowan pointed out that everyone thinks he’s just a goon in the background, but he’s not a follower. Cole asked about Rowan betraying Daniel Bryan. Rowan said Bryan’s not his intellectual equal. He demanded nobody ever disrespect him again.
Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura (w/Sami Zayn) vs. Ali
The match didn’t take place. Zayn came out wearing a neck brace and demanded respect from the audience. Zayn got in Ali’s face and said he’d never be a champion. Ali attacked the heels, but they outnumbered him. Zayn grabbed Ali’s leg, and Nakamura hit the Kinshasa.
Kevin Owens walked down through the audience and took a seat in the crowd. Corey Graves noted Owens doesn’t work here and the cameraman should take the camera off of him.
In the back, Shane McMahon’s served papers. He walked out to address Owens in the crowd.
Shane McMahon made his way down to the ring with security. He demanded security let Owens enter the ring because he has something say.
McMahon sent the guards away and revealed that he just received the largest wrongful termination lawsuit ever. McMahon noted if Owens wins he gets $25 million. He said the case is weak, but Owens disagreed.
Owens pointed out that McMahon is trying to make his life a living hell. He noted he got fined for attacking McMahon’s crooked referee Elias. Last week, McMahon attacked Owens when he was the referee. McMahon fired him for being insubordinate, which strengths his case.
Owens pointed out that he wants to hurt McMahon. He knows it hurts McMahon the most in his wallet and pride. Owens pointed out it’s not just about money. There’s a clause that notes McMahon gets fired if Owens wins the lawsuit.
In the back, Charlotte Flair was getting ready for her upcoming match when her father Ric Flair showed up.
An AOP promo aired disusing the reason’s they haven’t been around. All the tag teams are soft, and they’re the future of the tag team division.
Charlotte Flair defeated Sasha Banks (w/Bayley) By DQ
Atlanta recording artist Offset did the ring introduction for Flair.
Flair had the early advantage and used a suplex. Bayley tried to take the turnbuckle pad off, but Flair caught her. Bayley distracted Flair and Banks shoved her into the ring post to gain control.
Back from the break, Banks was firmly in control, but Flair fought back with a big boot. She rocked Banks with several hard chops and then hit a fallaway slam. Banks fought back and attempted a hurricanrana. Flair countered with a Boston crab, but Banks fought out.
Flair then hit a big boot sending Banks off the apron. Flair followed up with a huge moonsault to the floor wiping out Bayley and Banks. Banks rolled up Flair, but she countered into the figure eight. Bayley jumped in the ring for the disqualification.
Carmella ran out for the save and super kicked Banks. The announcers pointed out that Carmella and Bayley are friends. Bayley tried to talk to Carmella, but Flair rocked Bayley with a big boot.
Baron Corbin’s coronation took place next. He put on the cape and crown and noted he’s the king the fans need. He’s got everything it takes to be king. He’s strong and dominant but also gentle and kind. If he doesn’t get his respect, he’ll rule with an iron fist.
Corbin then brought out the man he beat last night Chad Gable. Corbin made a bunch of short jokes aimed at Gable. Gable couldn’t take the jokes and attacked Corbin. They fell on the throne, and it broke. Gable tore up the cape, and the scepter went flying into the crowd.
Gable then stomped on the crown and destroyed it.
The announcers pushed NXT’s debut on USA Network tomorrow night.
Heavy Machinery defeated The B-Team
Tom Philips and Byron Saxton made a big deal out of Otis’s outfit change. He’s no longer wearing a singlet and switched to more traditional tights.
The heels isolated Tucker in their corner and worked him over. Otis got the hot tag and ran wild on the heels.
He hit a splash in the corner on Bo Dallas and hit the Caterpillar. Heavy Machinery then hit the Compacter for the win.
Daniel Bryan made his way down to the ring. The fans broke into a “Daniel Bryan” chant. He pointed out that the fans chanting his name are the same ones that accused him of attacking Roman Reigns.
He said good or bad he’s never lied to the fans. The fans gave him a mixed reaction. He stands in the ring an exonerated man. Bryan’s not out there to talk about that. Instead, he wants to talk about Rowan.
He said he saw something special in Rowan. He didn’t treat him as his equal but saw him as his equal. He didn’t just treat him as his equal but also as his friend. Rowan interrupted and made his way to the ring.
Rowan pointed out that Bryan never let him talk and was too busy trying to make him into his puppet. Nobody disrespects Rowan. Bryan told him to do something about it because there’s nothing worse than lying to him and destroying their friendship.
Luke Harper attacked Bryan from behind Rowan hit the Iron Claw on Bryan.
Roman Reigns music hit, and he made his way down to the ring. Reigns speared Rowan, but Harper gained the advantage on Reigns. Rowan power bombed Reigns against the ring post.
The heels lifted the ringside pads and attacked security. Rowan kicked down a part of the barricade and hit Reigns with it. Rowan and Harper then slammed Bryan through the announce table.

The stuff on the Impact PPV last night pushing the new Impact+ streaming service is just basically a relaunch of the existing Global Wrestling Network service they’ve had, just with a new name, since they don’t want anything with the Global name.
Due to an injury to Siyar Bahadurzada, Nordine Taleb will now face Kyle Prepolee, debuting as a late replacement on Saturday’s show in Ottawa.

Regarding the note yesterday on Bushwhacker Luke Williams, the situation is actually even stranger than it sounds. Dan Mirade booked Luke for two autograph sessions. Williams was told about the dates but didn’t know one of the dates was for a Walmart. He then got asked on social media about him appearing at a Walmart. So he thought they were false advertising him since he knew he had a booking that day. He then told the local media he was being false advertised. But in fact, he wasn’t being false advertised. So it’s all been settled except for one of the TV news stations still has the story up about him being false advertised and won’t pull it because they had an interview with him saying it. So Luke shot an interview today explaining that he, in fact, will be in Ozark, AR on 5/3 and Fort Smith, AR on 5/4.
