An AEW star made an appearance as this week’s Monday Night Football game took place in Mexico City.

During Monday night’s broadcast of the San Francisco 49ers vs. Arizona Cardinals, ESPN showed footage of Penta El Zero Miedo meeting up with Pro Bowl tight end George Kittle before the game. Penta gave Kittle a custom 49ers lucha mask.

Kittle, who scored two touchdowns on Monday night, wore a Penta mask and shirt to his post-game press conference.

Kittle is a huge pro wrestling fan and uses Penta’s “Cero Miedo” taunt as a celebration during games.

Penta and his brother Rey Fenix currently hold the AEW Trios titles with PAC. They retained the titles against The Elite (Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks) at Full Gear this past Saturday. The finish saw Fenix pin Omega after hitting him with a hammer.

Full Gear was the start of a best-of-seven series between Penta, Fenix & PAC and The Elite for the Trios titles. The series will continue with match two taking place on Dynamite this Wednesday night.

DragonKing Dark: The story of former NFL star Aaron Hernandez

Our next installment in our 100 darkest moments in pop culture history involves the story of former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez.

Hernandez was an elite level football player whose off the field exploits landed him in prison and later dead.

Despite being one of the best players on his national championship winning team in college, the coach didn’t want him back for his senior season so he entered the NFL draft where many teams wouldn’t touch him. The Patriots finally did but a few murders later, they regretted that decision.

Rick Steiner’s son signs NFL contract with Baltimore Ravens

The man once known as “The Dog Faced Gremlin” might have to adjust his nickname after his son signed his first NFL deal with a different kind of animal.

Bronson Rechsteiner, a fullback with Kennesaw State (Georgia) is one of 20 undrafted rookies that will be signed by the Baltimore Ravens over the next few weeks. He is the son of Rick Steiner, former WCW and WWE tag team champion, and the nephew of former WCW triple crown champion Scott Steiner.

The news drew plenty of praise from those in wrestling including Jim Ross and Eric Bischoff while Scott joked on Twitter, “141 2/3% chance this was a great pick!!!”

The 6’0″, 230-pound Rechsteiner led the Owls with 909 rushing yards in 2019 and hit 35 bench press reps at the college’s pro day, which would have been third best at the NFL Combine. An ESPN article mentioned that it will be hard for Rechsteiner to earn a spot on the team given they have a Pro Bowl fullback already, but that he has talked about becoming a pro wrestler in the past.

His father and uncle were standout amateur wrestlers at the University of Michigan, but never played football. Rechsteiner is one of three sons for the 59-year-old Rick who currently sells real estate.

Left My Wallet: Antwan Odom, former NFL player and wrestling fan

“Left My Wallet” is back with former Tennessee Titan and Cincinnati Bengals defense end Antwan Odom.

Antwan is my first former NFL player appearing on the show and is on for a good reason: he is a huge wrestling fan, constantly tweeting about wrestling, video games, and football. Antwan and I talk about all three in a fun conversation from a former NFL player’s perspective.

The former Alabama defensive lineman and member of Alabama’s All-Decade team, talks about what got him into wrestling, his favorites today, his frustration with 50/50 booking, what he’s looking forward to at WrestleMania and more.

The talk then shifts into his thoughts on former teammate Frank Wycheck’s foray into professional wrestling with TNA and why he and his teammates were taking bets on it. He is also a huge gamer and we delve into his all-time favorite games, what he’s playing now, and how you can play against him.

Finally, he drops some knowledge on the current state of the NFL. Hear his thoughts on the Super Bowl, if the Giants should trade Odell Beckham Jr., why his favorite team is the Eagles, his lack of love for the Patriots, and more in an amazing talk that delves deep into some NFL chatter from a man who played in the league for 8 years.

That’s not all, though. I am joined for a quick intro by Northeast Wrestling champion Brad Hollister. I trained Brad, a lifelong Titans fan, to talk about Kyrie Irving, Northeast Wrestling, his upcoming match vs. Bandido, some of the veterans who have helped him improve at NEW, winning the title from Jack Swagger, and his brother Pat who’s a pro fighter in the lightweight division in Bellator.
