Skye Blue is “overwhelmed” by the support she’s received following a fan incident that took place at this week’s Ring of Honor television tapings.
At the taping, a fan was kicked out of the show for making what referee Aubrey Edwards called “disgusting, vile, hateful” comments toward Blue. Rachael Ellering, who was Blue’s opponent for the match, described the remarks as sexual harassment. Ellering said she’s never heard such vulgar things being said to a wrestler during a match. Both Edwards and Ellering said the fan’s comments were far more than just heckling.
Blue posted a tweet overnight thanking everyone for the love and support she’s received. She wants to make sure future generations of women’s wrestlers don’t have to deal with something like this.
The ROH taping was held at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada in conjunction with Wednesday night’s AEW Dynamite. Matches from the show have yet to air on ROH TV.
Blue is aligned with Julia Hart in AEW, though Hart is facing some time out of action after undergoing shoulder surgery. Blue unsuccessfully challenged Willow Nightingale for the TBS Championship in a Manitoba Massacre match on Rampage last week.
