Two matches are official for the Monday, October 14 WWE Raw episode.
A pair of former Intercontinental Champions will go head-to-head next week as Bron Breakker faces Kofi Kingston. Breakker attacked Kingston, Xavier Woods, and current IC Champion Jey Uso on Monday’s Raw following Uso’s successful title defense against Woods.
Uso ended Breakker’s first IC title reign on the September 23 Raw, while Kingston has held the Intercontinental title four times in his WWE career.
The WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships will also be on the line on next week’s episode.
As revealed during Monday’s Raw, Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill will defend their Tag titles against IYO SKY and Kairi Sane of Damage CTRL on next week’s episode.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill defend against Damage CTRL (Kairi Sane & IYO SKY)
After not appearing tonight, CM Punk will be back on WWE Raw next week.
Punk was off tonight’s Raw selling the effects of the beatdown he took from Drew McIntyre last week. WWE has announced that Punk will return to the show next Monday, appearing for the first time since it was confirmed that Punk vs. McIntyre in a Hell in a Cell match will take place at Bad Blood 2024.
Their Hell in a Cell match was announced tonight by Raw General Manager Adam Pearce, who told McIntyre that the feud between him and Punk needs to end. Upset over losing to Punk in a strap match at Bash in Berlin, McIntyre attacked Punk in an angle on Raw last week — causing Punk to get taken out in an ambulance. McIntyre also destroyed Punk’s bracelet that had the names of his wife and dog on it.
Bad Blood is taking place on Saturday, October 5. Punk and McIntyre have a 1-1 record against each other heading into the PLE.
The Moda Center in Portland, Oregon is the venue for next Monday’s Raw. A World Tag Team title match between Finn Balor & JD McDonagh and The New Day is also set. It will be the first televised title defense Balor & McDonagh have made since becoming champions in June.
On WWE Raw tonight, a tournament will begin to decide the next challenger for Bron Breakker’s Intercontinental title.
WWE has announced that the number one contender’s tournament will kick off with a pair of triple threat matches taking place on tonight’s episode. They are: Jey Uso vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Karrion Kross and The Miz vs. Xavier Woods vs. Pete Dunne.
Breakker won the Intercontinental title from Sami Zayn at SummerSlam. His first title defense was a two-out-of-three falls rematch against Zayn on Raw two weeks ago where Breakker won two falls to one.
Zayn received stem cell therapy in Mexico recently to help deal with some nagging injuries. On Raw, he and Uso are back aligned after previously being in The Bloodline together. Uso is still looking to win the first singles championship of his career.
WWE hasn’t announced when the tournament winner will be getting their title shot.
Raw takes place from Amica Mutual Pavilion in Providence, Rhode Island tonight. It’s the last episode of the show before Saturday’s Bash in Berlin PLE.

Three new matches were also announced. Ludwig Kaiser will be making his return, resuming his feud with Sheamus. The quarterfinals of the King & Queen of the Ring tournaments are now set.
Kofi Kingston defeated Rey Mysterio at a WWE house show in Macon, Georgia on Sunday to advance to the quarterfinals of the King of the Ring. He will now face Gunther on Raw.
Shayna Baszler also advanced in the Queen of the Ring tournament Sunday, defeating Maxxine Durpi. As a result, she will now face IYO SKY on Monday. Dupri substituted for Zelina Vega, who was pulled from the tournament earlier in the day due to injury.
The quarterfinals of the King of the Ring also include Ilja Dragunov vs. Jey Uso, Randy Orton vs. Carmelo Hayes, and LA Knight facing Tama Tonga. Queen of the Ring quarterfinals has Lyra Valkyria taking on Zoey Stark, Nia Jax facing Jade Cargill, and Tiffany Stratton going against Bianca Belair. Stratton and Knight advanced in house show matches that took place Saturday in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Both the King and Queen of the Ring finals will take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on May 25.
Kofi Kingston is “really happy” to see Swerve Strickland thriving in AEW.
At AEW Dynasty last month, Strickland made history by becoming the first Black men’s World Champion in the five-year existence of the promotion. He won the title by defeating Samoa Joe in the main event of the pay-per-view.
Kingston took notice of the moment, posting a tweet acknowledging Strickland:
During an interview on the Battleground Podcast, Kingston was asked about how his WWE Championship victory from WrestleMania 35 has helped pave the way for current champions like Strickland, Trick Williams, and Oba Femi.
Kingston said he’s happy to have been at the center of the KofiMania story, but there are a lot of people who contributed to making that moment happen. He thinks it’s a “beautiful thing” to see the success Strickland, Williams, Femi, and Carmelo Hayes have had.
I’m fortunate and happy that I could be at the center of that moment. But like I’ve said a lot of times in a lot of different interviews, a lot of people came together to make that moment happen. [Xavier] Woods, [Big] E, you know what I mean? My wife, my kids, the WWE Universe, you know what I’m saying? Even, like I said, the people that came before me. The Ron Simmons’, the Booker Ts, the Mark Henrys, all the people that put that work in and recognition to stand out. Like, it all culminated at that KofiMania moment.
So to see like, you know, Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes and Oba doing their thing, it really is a beautiful thing to see. I don’t want to sit here and say, ‘Oh, because I did this now they’re doing their thing.’ They, I think, were going to be successful regardless. But it is a beautiful thing to see people of color out there doing their thing.
And like you said, Swerve too, man. I’ve watched his career for a very, very long time. Gotten to know him very well over the years. And really, really happy for his success too. It is a beautiful thing and we are keeping it going. And I love it.
Strickland and Kingston never wrestled each other during Strickland’s time in WWE.
Kingston said he believes the ultimate goal is to get to a point where diverse champions are commonplace and we can talk about them as individuals.
In the first round of WWE’s King of the Ring tournament, Kingston will face off with Rey Mysterio. That match was originally planned for last night’s Raw but will instead take place at a WWE house show this weekend. The winner advances to face Gunther in the quarterfinals.
The Bryan & Shawn & Granny & Craig Show is back and it’s a PACKED show! The usual Granny segment including her new HISTORY LESSON, then the boys review WrestleMania 35’s top matches, which totally sucked with the exception of KOFIMANIA, an all-time great WrestleMania moment. A fun show as always so check it out~!
The 2024 men’s Royal Rumble match is now up to eight confirmed entrants.
WWE has confirmed that Kofi Kingston will be one of the entrants in the men’s Royal Rumble match this Saturday (January 27). Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Shinsuke Nakamura, Bobby Lashley, Drew McIntyre, Gunther, and Damian Priest are the other participants who have been announced for the match so far.
This will be the 16th Royal Rumble match that Kingston has competed in during his career.
After the Royal Rumble, Kingston is set to challenge Gunther for the Intercontinental title on Raw next Monday (January 29).
The New Day and Imperium are currently feuding with each other. A tag team match between Kingston & Xavier Woods and Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci on Raw last night ended in a double countout. The teams then continued to brawl, leading to a spot where Kingston and Woods speared Kaiser and Vinci off equipment boxes and through a table.
Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida is hosting the Royal Rumble on Saturday. The event streams live on Peacock/WWE Network starting at 8 p.m. Eastern time.
Here’s the updated list of entrants for both Rumble matches:
A couple of new matches have been added to the card for Monday’s episode of Raw.
Kofi Kingston vs. Ludwig Kaiser and The Miz vs. JD McDonagh will both take place on Raw this Monday night (January 8). Raw general manager Adam Pearce posted a social media video today announcing the bouts.
🚨 🚨 🚨 @ScrapDaddyAP has two BIG match announcements for this Monday's #WWERaw… 👀
There was an angle on Raw last month where Imperium attacked Kingston while he was dressed up as Santa Claus. Jey Uso made the save for Kingston.
On Raw earlier this week, Kingston & Uso defeated Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci in a tag match. It ended in an unplanned stoppage after a spot where Kingston kicked Vinci in the face with a dropkick. Vinci tweeted that he was fine after the injury scare.
Kingston’s New Day tag team partner Xavier Woods has been banged up but is expected to be back on the road with WWE soon.
Miz & R-Truth defeated McDonagh & Dominik Mysterio in a tag match on Raw earlier this week.

Last Friday, Kofi Kingston turned a dream into reality in his native country.
Kingston’s CLICK for Quality Education Foundation opened its first library and computer center in his birthplace of Kumasi, Ghana. The foundation was launched by Kingston and his mother one year ago. Its mission is to build “top quality computer labs and library media centers for junior high schools across Ghana, particularly in underprivileged areas.”
The Kofi Kingston Library and Digital Center is the name of the library that was opened last week.
In a statement posted to social media on Monday, Kingston thanked everyone who made this possible:
WE DID IT!
The Kofi Kingston Library and Digital Center is officially open, up and running! And we couldn’t have done it without all of you! It was such a special day filled with excitement, enthusiasm, optimism, and hope.
HUGE thanks to everyone who donated to the @gofundme! Your generous contributions helped make this vision a reality and we are ever grateful for your willingness to give!
Thank you to all the board members of the CLICK for Quality Education Foundation: Elizabeth Afua Sarkodie-Mensah, Leslie Esi Mensah Osabutey, Catherine Woodworth Wong, and Joanna Hadjicostandi-Anang. They, along with several others, all dedicated their time and effort over the years to make this possible.
We have all come together to make a real difference in the lives of Ghanaian children!
Kingston was born in Ghana but moved to the United States when he was one year old. In 2019, a WWE 24 documentary followed Kingston as he went back to Ghana to celebrate The Year of Return.
It was also in 2019 that Kingston won the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 35.
Kingston underwent ankle surgery this March but returned to the ring in August. He’s recently been feuding with Ivar of The Viking Raiders. Ivar defeated Kingston in a Viking Rules match on Raw last Monday.
The New Day’s Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods returned to action on Monday’s WWE Raw after being sidelined for months due to a Kingston injury.
Kingston & Woods defeated Erik & Ivar of The Viking Raiders in their return to the ring on Monday’s Raw episode, with Woods pinning Ivar after a Limit Break to secure the victory.
Kingston suffered an ankle injury on the March 3, 2023 edition of SmackDown during an angle that involved Drew McIntyre hitting a flip dive on a group of wrestlers on the floor. The injury was such that Kingston required surgery to repair it two weeks later.
Woods continued to wrestle as a single in the first two months of Kingston’s injury absence, including challenging Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship on the April 21 SmackDown. Prior to Monday, Woods last wrestled on a May 15 episode of Raw in a loss to Dominik Mysterio.
Kingston & Woods, along with fellow New Day member Big E, whose in-ring future is in question after suffering a broken neck on March 11, 2022, The New Day as a group have combined for a total of four Raw Tag Team title reigns, seven SmackDown Tag Team title reigns, and an NXT Tag Team title reign.
In addition, Kingston and Big E are former WWE Champions and former Intercontinental Champions, Kingston a former United States Champion, and Woods won the 2021 King of the Ring tournament among many career accolades.
Kofi Kingston is progressing well in his recovery from ankle surgery.
This March, Kingston underwent surgery after injuring his ankle on an episode of SmackDown. The injury happened during a spot where Drew McIntyre hit a flip dive over the top rope onto a pile of wrestlers.
Kingston addressed his recovery while being interviewed on the Battleground Podcast on Tuesday. Kingston said the surgery he had done was to remove a bone chip and fix a ligament. For the most part, he’s been ahead of schedule in his recovery. Kingston said we’ll hopefully see him back in the ring sooner than later.
I’m actually in Orlando right now doing some rehab on my ankle. I had ankle surgery to remove a bone chip and fix a ligament after the massive Scottish behemoth of a man, Drew McIntyre, landed on my leg and my body went east and my leg went west and my ankle was completely sprained, but they took out some bone chips and fixed the ligament and now I’m on the mend, you know? Somewhere in between a robot and a zombie. Somewhere in between. I’m working my way back into the fold, so it’s all good. Life is grand.
I’m doing really well. I actually had this same surgery on the same ankle about six years ago to have bone chips removed, so I feel like this time around, I kind of know what to expect and I’ve been kind of ahead of schedule for the most part. And I’m really able to do a lot of normal people things and live normal life. So now it’s just a matter of trying to like go to the next level and do WWE Superstar things, you know what I mean? In-ring things like that. So I’ve been in Orlando for the past week just kind of seeing where I’m at. And things are looking pretty good, so hopefully sooner than later, you’ll see me in the ring.
Kingston and his New Day tag team partner Xavier Woods were selected by Raw in the 2023 WWE Draft. Kingston and Woods are advertised for WWE’s house show tour of Germany that’s taking place this October.

Kofi Kingston is starting his road to recovery after ankle surgery.
In an update posted to his Instagram account on Saturday, Kingston shared that his surgery went well. Kingston noted that he’s home now and starting the recovery process.
“Surgery went very well! Of course I had to FaceTime the boyzzz [Big E and Xavier Woods] upon regaining consciousness…Very little recollection of the conversation, lol,” Kingston wrote.
“Thanks to everybody who sent me a message! I appreciate it more than you know! I’m home now. Let the road to recovery begin!”
