Tournament finals official for WWE King & Queen of the Ring

The finals are set for the WWE King & Queen of the Ring tournaments.

Randy Orton defeated Tama Tonga in a semifinal bout on Friday to win the SmackDown King of the Ring bracket and advance to Saturday’s tournament finals. Orton will take on Gunther, with the winner receiving a World Heavyweight or Undisputed WWE title match at SummerSlam.

Also on SmackDown, Nia Jax defeated Bianca Belair to win the SmackDown Queen of the Ring bracket and advance to Saturday’s tournament finals. Jax will take on Raw finalist Lyra Valkyria with a Women’s World or WWE Women’s title shot a SummerSlam hanging in the balance.

Saturday’s WWE King & Queen of the Ring PLE streams live on Peacock/WWE Network. The pre-show streams free and begins at 11 a.m. Eastern time on Peacock, WWE Network, and WWE’s social media and YouTube channels. The main card kicks off at 1 p.m. Eastern time.

King & Queen of the Ring semifinals official for next WWE SmackDown

Four wrestlers advanced in the King & Queen of the Ring tournaments on Friday’s WWE SmackDown with the SmackDown bracket semifinals set for next week.

Randy Orton defeated Carmelo Hayes on Friday’s SmackDown to advance to next week’s King of the Ring semifinals bout. He will face Tama Tonga in the SmackDown semifinals after Tonga defeated LA Knight on this week’s show to advance.

Bianca Belair defeated Tiffany Stratton on this week’s episode to advance to the Queen of the Ring semifinals where she will take on Nia Jax after Jax defeated Belair’s tag partner Jade Cargill by disqualification on Friday to advance.

The winners of next week’s matches will advance to the tournament finals set for the King & Queen of the Ring PLE on Saturday, May 25.

Raw’s representatives in the tournament finals will be decided on the Monday, May 20 episode where Gunther faces Jey Uso in the King of the Ring tournament, while IYO SKY will take on Lyra Valkyria in the Queen of the Ring tournament.

Two additional segments for next Friday’s SmackDown were also teased during this week’s show.

AJ Styles announced his intention to meet with SmackDown GM Nick Aldis on next week’s episode to discuss his in-ring future after losing an Undisputed WWE title match to Cody Rhodes at Backlash, then losing a King of the Ring tournament bout to Orton.

Women’s Champion Bayley also issued a challenge to Chelsea Green to meet her in the ring next week in a backstage segment on Friday.

King & Queen of the Ring semifinals set for next WWE Raw

The semifinals for both the King & Queen of the Ring tournaments in the Raw bracket are set for next week’s WWE Raw episode.

Jey Uso defeated Ilja Dragunov in this week’s Raw main event to advance to the King of the Ring semifinals. Uso will face Gunther, who defeated Kofi Kingston in the other Raw quarterfinals bout on Monday’s episode.

The winner of next Monday’s Uso vs. Gunther bout advances to the finals set for the King & Queen of the Ring PLE set for Saturday, May 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

In Raw’s Queen of the Ring bracket, IYO SKY defeated Shayna Baszler on Monday’s show to advance to the semifinals, plus Lyra Valkyria defeated Zoey Stark on Raw to advance to next week’s semifinals contest.

The winner of SKY vs. Valkyria will advance to the Queen of the Ring tournament finals in Jeddah.

Also announced for next week, Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn will take on Chad Gable in a non-title match, stemming from an angle on this week’s Raw where Gable berated Otis after Otis lost to Zayn. Zayn intervened to make the save for Otis, eating an exploder suplex from Zayn, but avoiding Zayn’s Helluva Kick.

  • King of the Ring semifinals: Gunther vs. Jey Uso
  • Queen of the Ring semifinals: Lyra Valkyria vs. IYO SKY
  • Sami Zayn vs. Chad Gable

Kofi Kingston & Shayna Baszler advance in WWE King & Queen of the Ring tournaments

The quarterfinals of the King & Queen of the Ring tournaments are now set.

Kofi Kingston defeated Rey Mysterio at a WWE house show in Macon, Georgia on Sunday to advance to the quarterfinals of the King of the Ring. He will now face Gunther on Raw.

Shayna Baszler also advanced in the Queen of the Ring tournament Sunday, defeating Maxxine Durpi. As a result, she will now face IYO SKY on Monday. Dupri substituted for Zelina Vega, who was pulled from the tournament earlier in the day due to injury.

The quarterfinals of the King of the Ring also include Ilja Dragunov vs. Jey Uso, Randy Orton vs. Carmelo Hayes, and LA Knight facing Tama Tonga. Queen of the Ring quarterfinals has Lyra Valkyria taking on Zoey Stark, Nia Jax facing Jade Cargill, and Tiffany Stratton going against Bianca Belair. Stratton and Knight advanced in house show matches that took place Saturday in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Both the King and Queen of the Ring finals will take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on May 25.

Tiffany Stratton & LA Knight advance in WWE King & Queen of the Ring tournaments

Two more have advanced in the King & Queen of the Ring tournaments.

LA Knight defeated Santos Escobar on Saturday at a WWE house show in Chattanooga, Tennessee to advance to the quarterfinals of the King of the Ring tournament. On the same show, Tiffany Stratton defeated Michin to make it to the next round of the Queen of the Ring tournament. As a result, Knight will now face Tama Tonga on the next WWE SmackDown, while Stratton will face Bianca Belair.

Two more tournament matches will take place at Sunday’s house show in Macon, Georgia to determine quarterfinal matches on the Raw side. Kofi Kingston will battle Rey Mysterio with the winner facing Gunther on the next episode of Raw, while a match between Shayna Baszler and Zelina Vega will determine IYO SKY’s opponent.

The finals of both tournaments will take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on May 25 at the Jeddah Super Dome.

Three wrestlers advance to WWE Queen of the Ring quarterfinals

Three SmackDown wrestlers have punched their tickets to the quarterfinals round of the WWE Queen of the Ring tournament.

Bianca Belair, Jade Cargill, and Nia Jax won their first round bouts on Friday’s SmackDown show to advance to the second round of the Queen of the Ring tournament.

Belair defeated Candice LeRae to advance, Cargill defeated Piper Niven to move on, plus Jax defeated Naomi to advance to the quarterfinals with victories on Friday’s show.

A fourth first round match on the SmackDown side of the Queen of the Ring bracket will take place on this weekend’s WWE house shows, with Tiffany Stratton set to face Michin in the remaining first round battle.

Belair will face the Stratton/Michin winner on next Friday’s SmackDown, plus Cargill will take on Jax in the quarterfinals on next week’s episode.

One first round bout remains on the Raw side of the bracket, with Shayna Baszler vs. Zelina Vega also set for this weekend’s house shows. The winner of that contest will face IYO SKY on Monday’s Raw, with Lyra Valkyria vs. Zoey Stark the other Raw quarterfinal set for Monday’s episode.

The King and Queen of the Ring PLE on Saturday, May 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia will host the finals of both the men’s and women’s tournaments.

King & Queen of the Ring quarterfinals to take place on next WWE Raw

King and Queen of the Ring quarterfinals will take place on next week’s Raw.

Next week’s show in Greenville, South Carolina will see Ilja Dragunov take on Jey Uso in a King of the Ring quarterfinal match. The second quarterfinal match will have Gunther taking on either Kofi Kingston or Rey Mysterio, depending on who wins the final first round match this weekend at a WWE house show.

In the Queen of the Ring quarterfinals, Lyra Valkyria will take on Zoey Stark. IYO SKY will face either Shayna Baszler or Zelina Vega. Much like in the King of the Ring tournament, SKY’s opponent will be determined at this weekend’s WWE house shows.

The finals of both tournaments will take place at King & Queen of the Ring on May 25 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Three wrestlers advance in WWE Queen of the Ring tournament

Three wrestlers have advanced to the second round of the WWE Queen of the Ring tournament. 

The tournament began on Monday’s Raw episode with three first round bouts, with the fourth first round match on the Raw side of the bracket to take place on house shows this coming weekend. 

In Monday’s first round action, IYO SKY defeated Natalya to advance to the next round, Zoey Stark defeated Ivy Nile to move on, plus Lyra Valkyria defeated Dakota Kai to advance to round two. 

Kai was an injury substitution for Damage CTRL stablemate Asuka who was originally announced as Valkyria’s opponent. 

The final first round match on the Raw side of the bracket will take place this weekend on a house show, with Shayna Baszler taking on Zelina Vega. 

SKY will face the winner of the Baszler vs. Vega match on next Monday’s Raw, while Valkyria will face Stark in the second round on next week’s episode.

The first round matches on the SmackDown side of the bracket will begin on this Friday’s SmackDown show. 

The finals of both the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments will be held at the King and Queen of the Ring PLE in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Saturday, May 25.
