Karrion Kross and Scarlett have been announced for their first appearance since apparently leaving WWE last week following their contracts expiring.
The Big Event NY announced Wednesday night that Kross and Scarlett will appear at their EXS Entertainment x Sports Expo on Saturday, November 15 at the Suffolk Credit Union Arena in Brentwood, New York. The event is billed as the biggest autograph show in the Northeast.
Speculation remains rampant that Kross and Scarlett have some sort of agreement in place to remain with WWE, although in an interview with Ariel Helwani on Wednesday, Kross insisted that his leaving the company is not some kind of elaborate work.
In the interview, Kross noted that he was offered a contract extension last week but that Scarlett was not, and that when he attempted to obtain specifics as to how WWE came to their monetary offer, the deal was rescinded.
“When I inquired about that, they were unwilling to provide that information and told me I had 24 hours to agree to the offer or they were rescinding it.“
Kross appeared as a guest on The Ariel Helwani Show on Wednesday and reiterated that his WWE contract expired on August 10 and he has not signed a new deal with the company. He mentioned receiving an offer, which was quickly rescinded after, as Kross says, he asked for more information about how WWE came to the number they did.
“No, I’m not answering questions today as a character,” Kross responded to Helwani when asked if he was “working everyone” with his contract situation.
Kross continued to detail his talks with WWE, noting that he only received a new offer recently.
“I never actually received a contract offer until last week,” he said.
“I got the offer. I wanted to know how they came to the valuation of that offer. Just wanted some information, some metrics,” he continued.“When I inquired about that, they were unwilling to provide that information and told me I had 24 hours to agree to the offer or they were rescinding it. So, the next day we talk, I asked if they have the information, they don’t. And I said I can’t make an informed decision without the information and I’d like to keep the dialogue open.”
Kross confirmed that WWE has rescinded the offer. He also noted that Scarlett was not given an offer. The company representative speaking with Kross said that they would speak with Scarlett only after they’d reached an agreement with him.
Throughout the conversation, Kross expressed he hopes to resume talks with WWE and that he and Scarlett wish to return.
“I’m not trying to turn this into a game. It’s not a game for me, it’s my life. I’m very big on loyalty, but loyalty is a two-way street. I’m very interested in trying to recover what I think is easily recoverable, but it takes two people to come together and talk about it. I’m still here.”
Kross also addressed people believing that the situation is a work, saying that promotions haven’t reached out to them because they aren’t sure if he really is a free agent.
“People don’t want to reach out because they’re not sure if they’re tampering and stuff like that. The goal has always been to be with WWE. My wife and I still want to be with WWE. I’m still at the table for conversations. I did not step out of the conversation.”
When asked, Kross confirmed that he has not been contacted by AEW. Although he did say he’s spoken with other promotions.
Kross also addressed people not believing he’s really no longer with WWE, saying it’s because the situation doesn’t seem to make sense.
“This seems so nonsensical to people. Believe me, I also think that this makes no sense. This is baffling to me, too. It drives me nuts that I have to actually even admit that. I’m still waiting. I’m waiting at the table to finish discussing the things that we never got a chance to discuss. I think there’s still a lot to talk about. I would like to explore the conversation more with WWE.”
At the end of the interview, Kross was asked if he had a message to all the fans that have supported him. He responded:
“I cannot thank you enough. There were different periods of my life where i thought for sure sincerely maybe I wouldn’t have made it to even this age, I was pretty troubled. And to find myself waking up with this level of support in all directions from friends, peers, vets, total strangers, it’s unbelievable. And I just want people to know, I’m not playing a game with them, this is real. And I’m here to fight. I’m here to fight to do the right thing, I’m going to fight to show up. And I’ll see you again soon.”

In a move that could either show their WWE departures are legitimate or just be another step in an ongoing worked-shoot, Killer Kross and Scarlett have released new merchandise on Pro Wrestling Tees.
Kross and Scarlett both have new T-shirts on sale after announcing yesterday that their WWE contracts have expired and they are now taking bookings. The Kross shirt is named “Good Soldier” and has the following written on the back: “A Good Soldier Defends His People.”
Leading into his contract expiration date, a “#WeWantKross” campaign had been building on social media for months with a portion of fans feeling that Kross was being underutilized and disrespected. Kross claimed that he didn’t have a single conversation with WWE about his contract renewal until recently — with that conversation leaving him “profoundly disappointed” because of its lack of substance.
Kross did compete at night one of SummerSlam on August 2, losing to Sami Zayn.
This was the second WWE stint for married couple Kross and Scarlett, who were released by WWE in 2021 but returned the next year.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer gave his thoughts on the situation with Kross and Scarlett and whether it’s legitimate or not.

Karrion Kross at one point was told to ignore the crowd’s reception to him.
During his “The Killer: Part Two” documentary, Kross revealed that people in WWE were telling him that they weren’t ready to embrace the reactions he was getting, and was eventually told not to acknowledge the response.
“I remember in the beginning people were saying hey, I wouldn’t take it seriously, it’s not going to last or hey, let’s see if it’s for real when you go out there tonight or if it’s still there when we’re in a different city or a different state,” he recalled. “Then when it was still there and it got louder and louder and louder every week, that went away and it was kinda like “Well, we’re not really ready to fully embrace that.” I was being told by certain people, ‘Don’t acknowledge it,” which felt really wrong because having a connection with the audience, especially one that is like this, this doesn’t just come around for everybody. It wasn’t something that was constructed or thought of. This happened organically through a series of events and I wouldn’t even say it’s something that happened recently this year. This is something that is happening because of what has happened over the last three years.”
“I don’t feel like we are all collectively going in the direction that the audience would like us to go in. And that part doesn’t feel good,” he added.
Towards the end of the documentary, an audio clip was presented of Triple H addressing Karrion Kross chants during the SummerSlam pre-show. The CCO of WWE seemingly confused those chants with chants for the returning Brock Lesnar.
“You can’t ignore the crowd in this business,” Kross said. “You can try. It’s not going to be good in the end. You don’t want to make your audience feel they aren’t a part of this. You can’t tell them they are part of this and they are the universe and they are so heavily involved in every aspect of it and then on a whim tell them certain subsections don’t matter, we can’t do that. That pisses people off and turns people away.”
Kross confirmed during the documentary that his contract expired on August 10. Both he and Scarlett thanked fans on social media and said they were now accepting bookings.
Scarlett has released a statement following the end of her WWE contract.
Shortly after Karrion Kross released his latest documentary on YouTube where he said his WWE contract was set to expire on August 10, Scarlett released a statement on social media writing that the next chapter of her career starts now.
“My time in WWE has been an incredible ride, and I can truly say it’s been the best locker room I’ve ever been part of. These people aren’t just coworkers, they’re family. I love you all, and I’ll deeply miss seeing you every week,” she wrote. “To the fans, you’ve never just been a crowd. You’ve been our partners in every fight and the reason we give everything for this. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. The next chapter starts now and I’m ready to bring something unforgettable to any stage, anywhere in the world. If you want The Smokeshow on your show… let’s make it happen.”
She ended the post with an email to contact her for bookings and appearances.
My time in WWE has been an incredible ride, and I can truly say it’s been the best locker room I’ve ever been part of. These people aren’t just coworkers, they’re family. I love you all, and I’ll deeply miss seeing you every week.
Shortly after midnight EST on Sunday, WWE moved both Kross’ and Scarlett’s profiles to the company’s alumni section. However, speculation continues to swirl regarding their status with the company, with Dave Meltzer noting in today’s Daily Update that “everyone was going with the idea he was staying.”
Karrion Kross wasn’t happy about recent contract negotiations.
In his documentary “The Killer Part 2,” Kross confirmed that his WWE contract was up on August 10. Despite this, he talked about his attempts to stay with the company.
“I expressed interest to renegotiate in early January with WWE,” he said. “I think it’s crazy, preposterous that anyone would think that I wouldn’t want to be here or like go somewhere else. It’s frustrating because you express your interest to say and be here and do things…I’m not going to beg, I’ve already been clear.”
Kross further stated that discussions about him staying didn’t happen until “recently,” with those discussions not being of any real substance.
“Many months have gone by and we never had a single conversation about it until recently, and I don’t even feel like the conversation I’ve had recently was like an actual serious one,” he recalled. “The conversation made me really angry because I just didn’t feel like it was a real conversation….there really wasn’t anything that was discussed of real substance. Actually, it didn’t make me angry and it didn’t make me upset, it just profoundly disappointed me because I think about this business probably differently than the person I was speaking to because of the nature of what I do.”
On Saturday night, Kross and Scarlett’s profiles were moved from the WWE website to the alumni section. Dave Meltzer in today’s Daily Update noted that “everyone was going with the idea he was staying.”

— Our Friday show with Garrett Gonzales talks a lot about the ESPN WWE deal, the numbers it needs to be a success, Brock Lesnar’s return to WWE and TKO and how it has handled both stars and non stars with past issues, the Janel Grant case and more on Hogan and CMLL. Bryan and I will be back for our weekend show tonight.
— The G-1 A block round robin was completed. Evil finished first in the block with David Finlay second and Yota Tsuji third so all three advance to the playoffs that start on Thursday at Korakuen Hall with Evil getting a first round bye.
The B block round robin ends Wednesday:
Shota Umino (5-3) vs. Great O’Khan (4-4)
Yoshi-Hashi (4-4) vs. Zack Sabre Jr. (6-2)
Konosuke Takeshita (5-3) vs. Ren Narita (5-3)
Shingo Takagi (4-4) vs. Drilla Moloney (4-4)
The only thing is that Sabre has the best shot and is in with a win, plus the Takeshita vs. Narita winner is in with a win. Umino is also in with a win. There are a number of playoff options based on people who finish 5-4.
— Horrible news and something I’ve never heard of ever happening in history, two Japanese boxers, Hiromasa Urakwa and Shigetoshi Kotari both died from injuries in the same show on 8/2 at Korakuen Hall. Nobody has come with a card in history where two men passed away. I don’t know of any explanation, but you would sweat like crazy upping the risk of dehydration in a boxing match in August at Korakuen Hall.
— Robbie Ellis, real name Rob Elowitch, passed away surprisingly on Thursday. He was 82. Ellis did independent shows in the Northeast from 1966 to 2013, but had a ton of mainstream news articles about him nationally because of the idea he was the owner of the Baridoff Gallery in Portland, ME, but also did independent matches until the age of 70. He was the subject of a well received documentary called “Canvasman: The Robbie Ellis Story” and had an article on him in Sports Illustrated at a time when that was a really big deal. After the article he billed himself as “Sports Illustrated legend Robbie Ellis.” He also appeared on The Today Show, World News Tonight, The Osgood File, MacNeil/Lehrer, Time and MTV’s True Life. He did TV jobs with major promotions in the 80s and was a regular for CHIKARA when he was much older. (thanks to Christopher Cruise and Matt Cail)
— Hunter Campbell has said that they are looking to expand the APEX to 5,000 to 10,000 seats and it would continue to hold UFC events but also hold NXT major shows and even WWE major shows.
— Arena Mexico sold out with 16,000 again this past Friday night. The CMLL boom is clearly the most undercovered story in pro wrestling this year by far.
— There is a story on 71 year old Tony Atlas doing a match last night in Lewiston, ME. Atlas said in the story that he was glad WWE didn’t invite him to one of the shows where they honored Hogan “because then I would only have been there for the money, not for him.” (thanks to Christopher Cruise)
— Regarding the departure of Ashante three Adonis from WWE, his contract wasn’t renewed. I had talked about expecting this after they did the Adonis/Karmen Petrovic break-up at the same time they were doing a lot of releases. Essentially they stopped using him, but didn’t fire him and let the contract go. He had a main roster deal so if they had cut him he’d have been paid for the 90 day non-compete. Essentially his contract was up at the same time his non-compete would have been up if they had let him go, so it really just made sense to allow the contract to expire.
— Jun Saito beat Yuma Aoyagi in Aoyagi’s home city of Matsumoto today to retain the All Japan Triple Crown title.
— Piers Morgan, who said that Jake Paul’s boxing career has been staged BS, but said he didn’t mean to say the matches were predetermined and fixed, just that he faced people he knew he could beat. But he said that if Paul really faces Anthony Joshua, that changes the narrative.
— Regarding Karrion Kross, I’ve heard nothing new since Thursday when he had not signed but everyone was going with the idea he was staying. I haven’t heard him negotiating elsewhere. The idea they’d try and do a Ron Killings thing with him but as a work makes a lot of sense, but can’t confirm that on this. I do know that the people handling his media for his autobiography that just came out told people they could not ask any questions on the subject related to his contract.
— Regarding Google searches, the only pro wrestling mention is Karrion Kross at 10,000. Yesterday’s UFC show did 100,000 searches.
— It appeared from commercials I saw that Kacy Catanzaro (Katana Chance in WWE) will be announcing for American Ninja Warriors this season. She was in ads for Monday’s show.
— A correction from Friday’s show, the $10 credit that you got from Amazon Prime if you bought All in Texas can’t be redeemed for purchases of Forbidden Door. The credit was only valid for 30 days. It is still a good marketing gimmick to do that when you have the big show of the year because it would encourage those on the fence to buy the next show to take advantage of the credit (thanks to Chris Whitehead)
— As far as matches to check out this weekend, the stuff I’ve been told about include Konouske Takeshita vs. Shota Umino, Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Drilla Moloney in and David Finlay vs. Yuya Uemura in G-1, Jun Saito vs. Yuma Aoyagi from today’s All Japan show, Ultimo Guerrero vs. Blue Panther and Mistico & Atlantis Jr & Mascara Dorada vs. Difunto & Hechicero Angel de Oro from Friday at Arena Mexico and Kye Fletcher vs. Tomohiro Ishii from Collision. Guerrero vs. Panther wasn’t a match of the year type of level bout, but I can’t come up with a singles match where one of the guys was weeks shy of his 65th birthday ever that was as good as this one.
— A&E tonight has at 9 p.m. WWE’s Greatest Moments covering SummerSlam in the 2000s, 9:30 p.m. has WWE’s Greatest Moments on John Cena and LFG is at 10 p.m.
— Kirk White’s Big Time Wrestling from Friday night in Newark, CA, which sold out in advance:
QT Marshall b Matt Cardona
Aaron Solo b Jordan Cruz
Viva Van & VertVixen b Shotzi Blackheart & Beatrice Domino
Bad Dude Tito b Alan Agnels
Starboy Charlie b LJ Cleary
Marcus Lewis b Chriss Nastyy
Alpha Zo b Seabass Finn
Los Suavecitos b Texas Outlaws
The next show is 10/3 featuring Bret Hart. It will be the company’s 29th anniversary show.
— TNA announced this for Saturday’s TV taping in Baltimore: Hardys vs. Cedric Alexander & Leon Slater, plus Trick Williams, Mike Santana, Masha Slamovich, The System,The Elegance Brand, Mara Sade (Jakara Jackson), The Iinspiration, Indi Hartwelll, Steve Maclin and Frankie Kazarian.
— Angelo Dawkins and Stipe Miocic will be part of the Machine Gun Kelly Day in Cleveland today as part of the Monster Energy Celebrity Shootout which will be a basketball shootout. They’ll be joined by NFL stars Joe Haden and Vernon Davis as well as actors and Olympian Louie Vito.
— Kyle Fletcher defends the TNT title against a New Japan Wrestler yet to be named at Forbidden Door. The identity of the person will be announced Wednesday. So technically, it could be someone eliminated in the A block since they’d be done, meaning Oleg Boltin, Ryohiei Oiwa, Yuya Uemura, Callum Newman, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Sanada or Taichi. Tanahashi’s final UK match was to be on this show so he’d be the favorite.
Dynamite on Wednesday:
Adam Copeland vs. Stokely Hathaway
MJF and Adam Page face-to-face
FTR vs. Bandido & Brody King, winner gets a tag title shot at Forbidden Door
Jon Moxley vs. Kevin Knight
— OVW is changing its premium membership program and will make the shows formerly under the program free on the Internet.
According to WWE.com, Karrion Kross and Scarlett are no longer part of the company’s active roster.
Their profiles on WWE’s website have been moved to the alumni section, as it continues to be portrayed that both could be leaving the company or have already left.
The pair’s contracts are reportedly up sometime this month. Leading up to SummerSlam, it had been reported that WWE had not made them an offer to stay. However, on Friday’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that they have at least received an offer from the company.
“I was told that the story about him not being signed to a contract, I heard that that is legit but that he did get an offer,” Meltzer said about Kross. “The story that he didn’t get an offer — and maybe when the story that he didn’t get an offer was written it was accurate, but I was told he’s gotten an offer. I don’t expect him going anywhere.”
Paul Heyman suggested during a recent appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show that Kross is something like a modern Steve Austin, with a groundswell of support from the audience.
“The audience is calling for him to be a bigger star. And if we don’t deliver it on a timetable that an impatient audience, and impassioned audience is going to like, they are going to get behind him even more, which is great. They are making him a star. We are not shoving him and Scarlett down anybody’s throats.”
Kross’ book, Life is Fighting, was released on August 5.
Dave Meltzer and Garrett Gonzales are back with the Friday edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, talking about all the big news from today’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
During an appearance on The Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling Podcast, Karrion Kross gave fans an update on his WWE contract status.
Kross and his wife Scarlett’s futures have been a discussion point of late with their WWE contracts reportedly set to expire imminently. While he didn’t address rumors about whether he’s been offered a new deal or not, Kross confirmed that he was still under contract with WWE as of yesterday.
“I’m still under contract,” Kross said. “I saw a bunch of stuff online — what is today, Thursday? — I don’t know where it’s coming from and I don’t care to speak to any of it, but, I mean, all I can tell you is the only way you’re going to get the real story is when you get it from me. That’s all I can tell you.”
Kross added that everyone will find out what’s going on with him “very soon.”
“I can’t really speak to any of the legitimacy of anything that is being recently reported, but I’ll tell you right now, everyone’s going to know exactly what’s going on very soon,” he said. “Like, they’re going to know.”
Kross has built a cult following with fans over the last several months, which has led to speculation over whether his future is really in question or if WWE is using the contract situation to help build support for Kross and further the narrative that he is underutilized.
At SummerSlam last weekend, Kross competed in a loss to Sami Zayn. Kross told The Two Man Power Trip that getting to wrestle at SummerSlam was an awesome experience, especially given how much he loved the PPV as a kid. He was hoping that there was going to be a “hyperviolent” stipulation for his match against Zayn, though.
“I would have liked to have done things a little bit, how should I say, I thought that there was going to be something a lot more hyperviolent that we were going to be able to get into with me and Sami,” Kross said. “Nevertheless, I was thrilled to be there and to perform. I was really hoping that I was going to be able to, you know, get very FMW [the Japanese hardcore promotion] about it with Sami, for those who know the reference.”
Kross said he was flattered and at a loss for words when he saw Paul Heyman recently compare his momentum to the early rise of Steve Austin. Though Kross does not know what’s next for him, he would like to continue performing in WWE. Kross noted that he has a good relationship with Paul “Triple H” Levesque.
“I don’t know what happens next. All I know is I would like to be there for it, and I’d like to continue performing and doing my best and showing up and giving as much as I’m allowed to give,” Kross said. “That I can tell you for sure.”
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer gave an update on Karrion Kross’ contract status with WWE.
Kross and Scarlett’s WWE contracts are set to expire imminently and there’s been no word about them re-signing with the company. While it’s been suggested that they have not been offered new deals, it appears that is not the case.
Meltzer said the situation smells like an angle, especially given that WWE has promoted Kross’ new book and Paul Heyman praised him on The Ariel Helwani Show this week, comparing the momentum Kross has generated with the audience to the rises of Steve Austin, Daniel Bryan, and CM Punk.
Paul Heyman compares the momentum behind @realKILLERkross to the initial rise of Stone Cold Steve Austin 👀
"The audience is calling for him to be a bigger star. If we don't deliver it on a correct timetable… an impatient audience is going to get behind him even more.
Fan support for Kross has been growing on social media for months. In April, a promo he cut about being left off the WrestleMania card went viral online. Since then, it’s appeared that WWE is leaning into the narrative about Kross being disrespected and underutilized to help build his popularity.
Kross was featured at SummerSlam last weekend, losing to Sami Zayn.
Karrion Kross is reacting to an “unreal” moment that took place after night two of WWE SummerSlam.
During Sunday night’s post-show, there was a moment where fans outside MetLife Stadium broke out into chants of “We want Kross.” There may have been some chants for the returning Brock Lesnar mixed in, but the panel — including Paul “Triple H” Levesque — only heard “We want Brock.”
There were also Kross chants during the post-show for night one of SummerSlam, which included a match where Kross lost to Sami Zayn.
Kross has gained momentum with fans on social media over the last several months, with a worked-shoot promo about being left off WrestleMania going viral back in April. He and Scarlett’s WWE contracts are said to be up soon and it’s not known if the two have signed new deals, though it’s unclear how much of what’s going on with Kross is legitimate and how much is WWE leaning into the fan belief that he’s disrespected and underutilized.
“I don’t think I should talk about any of it right now,” he responded. “But I am hoping that when the time is right everyone will know what’s going on, including us.”
Kross is on his second stint with WWE, returning to the company in 2022 after having been released the year prior. He was brought back to WWE following Levesque’s ascension to head of creative.
