OGK, Maria Kanellis, PCO, Vincent appear at Impact Hard to Kill

Four Ring of Honor wrestlers, along with Maria Kanellis, appeared on tonight’s Impact Hard to Kill event, laying out members of the Impact Wrestling roster.

Matt Taven, Mike Bennett, Vincent, and PCO appeared following the Hardcore War match and attacked Rhino and Heath. Willie Mack and Rich Swann attempted to help, but were then jumped by PCO and Vincent. The Impact wrestlers were then laid out by the Ring of Honor wrestlers as Bennett brought in Maria Kanellis. All five then posed as the announcers suggested this may be an invasion from Ring of Honor.

Backstage, Gia Miller attempted to interview Scott D’Amore about the situation. D’Amore told Miller that he had to call Baltimore (the location of ROH’s headquarters) to figure out what was going on.

ROH has been on hiatus since December’s Final Battle, with the company planning resuming shows in April. Jonathan Gresham, the ROH World Champion, successfully defended the ROH title against Impact’s Chris Sabin earlier in the show.

Rok-C, the ROH Women’s Champion, appeared at ringside for the main event between Mickie James and Deonna Purrazzo.

Tasha Steelz wins Ultimate X match at Impact Hard to Kill

Tasha Steelz has won the first ever women’s Ultimate X match.

At tonight’s Impact Hard to Kill, Steelz defeated Chelsea Green, Jordynne Grace, Alisha Edwards, Rosemary, and Lady Frost to earn a future shot at the Knockouts Championship currently held by Mickie James. The finish had Grace and Steelz climbing toward the X, struggling to gain possession. Steelz was able to get it, falling to the floor to officially win the match.

In a promo that aired later, Steelz said that it didn’t matter if it was Deonna Purrazzo or James, whoever ends up the Knockouts Champion will have a date on the wrong side of the street with her.

The X Division match had plenty of high spots. At one point, Edwards climbed toward the X and attempted to grab it, only for Rosemary to connect with a spear. At another point in the match, Lady Frost connected with a giant moonsault to the floor that took out most of the competitors.

Steelz, who joined Impact in 2020, initially formed a tag team with Kiera Hogan known as Fire ‘N’ Flava. When Hogan left the company, Savannah Evans joined forces with Steelz.

Ian Riccaboni, Bobby Cruise to appear at Impact Hard to Kill

Ian Riccaboni and Bobby Cruise are both set to be at tonight’s Impact Hard to Kill event.

Impact announced on social media today that Riccaboni will call the ROH World title match between champion Jonathan Gresham and Chris Sabin. Cruise, the long time ring announcer for Ring of Honor, will be the ring announcer for the match.

“Hello @IMPACTWRESTLING! Thrilled to announce the @ringofhonor World Title Bout Tonight! #HardToKill,” Riccaboni wrote on Twitter.

Ring of Honor has gone under a hiatus since the Final Battle event that took place on December 11, with the company saying they will be back by April. Gresham, who won the ROH World title at Final Battle, has defended it against the likes of AJ Gray and Adam Priest in the last month. He is scheduled to defend the title against Blake Christian at GCW’s event at the Hammerstein Ballroom on January 23.

Impact Hard to Kill will take place live tonight at The Bomb Factory in Dallas, Texas.
