It’s another big wrestling weekend with WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event and AEW Double or Nothing and on a new Wrestling Weekly, Vic Sosa and Les Thatcher have all their predictions for both shows.

Giulia is on the main roster.
During SmackDown, Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair were seen talking when Giulia walked out of Nick Aldis’ office. SmackDown’s General Manager then stepped out and announced the former NXT Women’s Champon as the newest member of the SmackDown roster.
Since Stand & Deliver, Giulia had been seen on Raw forming an alliance with Roxanne Perez, battling both Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY. In a digital exclusive that aired after their Raw loss against Ripley and SKY, Giulia ended their partnership as Perez was looking for ways for the team to regain momentum.
In her short time with WWE, Giulia quickly climbed the ranks of NXT to become one of the brand’s top stars, winning the NXT Women’s Championship in December. She lost it to NXT Women’s North American Champion Stephanie Vaquer in a winner-take-all match back in March.
Giulia is the second act to officially be called up to the main roster following WrestleMania 41 weekend. After losing the NXT Tag Team titles at Stand & Deliver, Fraxiom (Nathan Frazer & Axiom) were called up to SmackDown where they have been picking up wins on the brand’s tag team division.

Title challengers for Battleground will be decided tonight on WWE NXT.
Jordynne Grace vs. Giulia headlines tonight’s card in a number one contender’s match. The winner earns a shot against NXT Women’s Champion Stephanie Vaquer later this month at Battleground.
A number one contender’s battle royal is also set for tonight. The winner challenges Oba Femi for the NXT Championship on Sunday, May 25 at the Battleground PLE in Tampa, FL.
TNA Champion Joe Hendry is back in NXT for a six-man tag match. Hendry teams with NXT Tag Team Champions Hank & Tank against DarkState. The match was set up last week when DarkState attacked Hendry.
Kelani Jordan has her sights on challenging NXT Women’s North American Champion Sol Ruca, and she’ll attempt to move one step closer to making that a reality when she faces Ruca’s tag partner Zaria.

The show begins with footage of wrestlers arriving at the building that houses the Performance Center in Orlando, where NXT is filmed before a live studio audience.
Arriving is Jordynne Grace and Giulia, ahead of their number one contender’s match. Also arriving are male wrestlers in the scheduled battle royal. A group from NXT is met by wrestlers from LFG and TNA.
Opening the show is a trios match.
Cutter James pinned Tank Ledger to win the match, after interference at ringside by Trick Williams and Shugars. Trick brawls with Hendry to further their feud. Likewise, the finish in this trios match seems to set up DarkSate getting a title shot, since the tag champs dropped a fall to the heel faction.
Hendry poses with Hank & Tank before the match starts as part of their entrance, and they also strike a pose during the match as well. Smart booking to partner an over Hendry with a team looking to get over.
Whatever mystique DarkState had since their unique debut is fleeting fast the more they wrestle on television. They are now just another faction in NXT, albeit with a good push.
Hendry joins Hank & Tank in cleaning house before the show cuts to its first commercial break. The babyface trio strikes a pose as the show cuts to picture-in-picture. Momentum shifts, and the heels are working over Hank as the show returns from the break.
Hot tag and Tank runs wild, and he gets a near fall. Bedlam erupts and everyone gets involved. Melee with all six, when Shugars interferes at ringside. Shugars posts Hank, and Hank sells it the rest of the match.
Hendry is signaling for a finisher when Trick Williams runs down and trips Hendry. Trick and Hendry brawl their way off stage, which leaves Tank alone in the ring against DarkState. Triple powerbomb on Tank, and Cutter James hooks a leg to cover Tank for the pinfall.
Thea Hail is talking with Karmen Petrovic in a locker room skit when Jaida Parker eavesdrops on them. Parker chimes in and cuts a promo on Petrovic, which sets up a singles match between the two.
Shiloh Hill and Chris Island from LFG are seen warming up for the battle royal. Meanwhile, Timothy Thatcher (making his return to NXT television) and Sean Legacy are also warming up as they represent Evolve in the battle royal later tonight.
Zaria pinned Jordan to win after a stunt where Zaria speared Jordan through a section of the barricade.
The match goes through a commercial break with picture-in-picture. Jordan as a babyface in peril fought from underneath. She makes a comeback on Zaria, and they trade near falls.
Jordan gets a near fall with a tornado DDT. Jordan leaps to the top rope like Rob Van Dam by jumping from the mat all the way to the top rope. Jordan then goes for a 450. No water in the pool, but she rolls through. Zaria then cuts off Jordan with a spear.
Near falls continue in the closing moments. Jordan does an Asai moonsault. She overshoots Zaria, but Zaria sells it nonetheless. At ringside, Zaria shoves Jordan towards the barricade. Jordan is inadvertently saved by Ruca, but Zaria still spears Jordan through a gimmicked section of the barricade. Ruca acts shocked at the stunt, but Ruca cheers on Zaria as she gives Jordan the F6 finisher. Zaria then scores a pinfall.
Tony D’Angelo and Wes Lee exchange tense words in a locker room skit, which sets up a singles match between the two for next week on NXT. That bout is later made official for next Tuesday.
Trick Williams gets a full entrance before the show cuts to a commercial break. The battle royal is “next” on the show, but first another skit.
Lola Vice talks with NXT Women’s Champion Stephanie Vaquer in a skit, and Giulia interrupts with a word of warning to the champ.
Ethan Page gets a full entrance for the battle royal.
In a surprise, “The Drifter” is back in NXT as a returning troubadour. Elias is back in WWE, although he is now billed as “Elijah” from TNA. Of course, Elijah has his guitar. The arena lights dim and a spotlight shines on Elijah as he performs a song on his way to the ring. Big pop for Elijah, and the studio audience chants “welcome home” as the troubadour himself does his catchphrase. In the form of a question: “Who wants to walk with Elijah?”
Ethan Page confronts Elijah as the bell sounds to start the battle royal.
Borne out of nowhere becomes the number one contender with the upset win, as Borne last eliminates Ethan Page and Shawn Spears en route to winning the battle royal.
The battle royal ran through two split-screen commercial breaks. An inter-promotional gimmick match, participants are from TNA and three WWE brands — NXT, LFG and Evolve. It was indie-rific at times and over-booked, but the battle royal has lots of action.
Joe Hendry gets an entrance with his theme song during the middle of the match, as Hendry confronts Trick Williams. Distracted by the entrance of Hendry, Trick is then eliminated by Elijah. Trick and Hendry then have a pull-apart brawl.
Shawn Spears eliminates Elijah, leaving five men in the ring. Je’Von Evans and Sean Legacy get to shine in a series of high spots and sequences between the two. Legacy is then eliminated by Evans, with some help from a low-bridge courtesy of Ethan Page.
Final four is all NXT. Comes down to Page, Evans, Spears, and Myles Borne, as they run through a series of entertaining spots. Borne shows fire as he gets to shine in the closing minutes. Borne then takes a springboard cutter from Evans. On a second springboard attempt, Evans goes for a double cutter on both Page and Spears. Instead, they eliminate Evans by tossing him out of the ring.
Page and Spears make a pact to team up on Borne, but Page immediately double-crosses Spears. Holding on to the top rope, Spears tries to skin the cat. Meanwhile, Borne dropkicks Page, and Page goes sailing over the ropes. On his way down, Page catches Spears with a cutter on the floor. Borne is the last man standing in the ring, and Borne wins the battle royal to become the number one contender.
No Quarter Catch Crew storms the ring to celebrate with Borne after his win. Tavion Heights rushes in to hug Borne, with Wren Sinclair in tow. Charlie Dempsey is dragging up the rear, as Dempsey looks less than thrilled with Borne getting the spotlight.
Sarah Schreiber is interviewing Jordynne Grace when they are interrupted by Izzi Dame. Lash Legend also arrives to interrupt Dame. When she becomes the number one contender, Grace will see them on the other side. Whatever that means.
Parker pinned Petrovic after a running knee strike. Setting up the finish, Petrovic misses a kick. Parker then lands the knee strike, and she covers Petrovic for a clean pinfall.
Parker jumps Petrovic after the match, and Parker signals for her signature hip attack. Thea Hail runs down to take a bullet for Pertrovic. Hail takes the hip attack from Parker, which sets up a match between Parker and Hail.
TNA Champion Joe Hendry is in NXT General Manager Ava’s office, where she announces Hendry is defending the TNA Championship in a title match against Trick Williams at Battleground. Ava notes this is the first time the TNA world title is on the line at a WWE PLE. Ava also announces a contract signing for next Tuesday on NXT.
A vignette featuring OTM is part of a promotional tie-in with an insurance company. Bronco Nima and Lucien Price cut a promo within a music video.
Wes Lee is on a phone call as Lee is flanked by Tyson Dupont and Tyriek Igwe. Lee apparently has a match booked, and he is thrilled with the news. Remarking to Dupont and Igwe, Lee borrows from Ted DiBiase’s catchphrase. “Every man has a price,” Lee says with a smirk.
Josh Briggs and Yoshiki Inamura talk as part of a backstage skit. Inamura apologizes to Briggs for failing him, and Inamura informs Briggs he is heading back to Japan. Inamura gives Briggs his vest, and says “goodbye my friend.”
As Inamura leaves, up walks Brooks Jensen and The Culling. Jensen is a former tag partner of Briggs, and Jensen makes a sarcastic remark about being there before in this same position. Jensen blames Briggs for being the problem.
Charlie Dempsey, as leader of No Quarter Catch Crew, tells the group he needs their help to get ready for his match at Battleground against NXT Champion Oba Femi. Myles Borne, who actually became number one contender earlier in the show, takes exception to Dempsey claiming the title match. Insisting Borne won for the good of the group, Dempsey also insists he himself gets the title shot.
In walks Femi, and he congratulates Borne. Dempsey chimes in to again insist he will face Femi in the title match. Borne says the match is his, but he basically calls out Dempsey in front of Femi. This sets up Dempsey against Femi in a non-title match for next Tuesday on NXT.
Grace pinned Giulia to win what was a really good bout. Clean finish and a strong match to determine the number one contender to Stephanie Vaquer, who came out after the match with her NXT title belt for a stare down with Grace.
Giulia and Grace start the bout with a safe version of Frye- Takayama, before they settle into a match. Grace and Giulia work well together, and they have a good match.
They wrestle through a commercial break, with Giulia giving Grace a neckbreaker on the floor just before the show cuts to its last break.
They trade near falls on the home stretch. Grace executes a delayed vertical suplex off the middle rope. Grace holds on, rolls through, and she powers up to deliver a jackhammer. Giulia kicks out at two and a half. Moments later, Giulia spikes Grace with a DDT. Giulia with a pump handle into a Norther Lights driver for another near fall.
They counter each other several times as they go home. Overhead suplex by Grace, only for Giulia to hulk up. Fighting spirit exchange before Grace delivers Beast Mode. Grace then hooks a leg to cover Giulia for the deciding pinfall. Grace is now the number one contender for the NXT women’s title.
NXT Women’s Stephanie Vaquer enters the ring after the match. The show ends with a staredown between Vaquer and Grace.
A four-way match is now official for NXT Stand & Deliver.
Stephanie Vaquer will face former champion Giulia along with Jaida Parker and Jordynne Grace in a four-way match following the events the took place on NXT. The opening match between Parker and Grace went to a no disqualification after Vaquer got involved. That was when Giulia, who had been gone from television since losing the NXT Women’s title to Vaquer, made her return. Vaquer at first seemed happy to see her, but Giulia responded by laying her out with the northern lights bomb.
Later, Giulia explained that what happened wasn’t about friendship, demanding a rematch for the title. In another segment, Vaquer told Ava that she would take on all three at Stand and Deliver next weekend.
After defeating Giulia to become a double champion at Roadblock, Vaquer successfully retained the title over Jaida Parker and also retained the North American title over Fallon Henley on the same episode of NXT. She eventually agreed to vacate the North American title as long as she got to name her opponent for Stand & Deliver.

WWE NXT is in New York City tonight for a loaded-up television episode.
Roadblock 2025 takes place from The Theater at Madison Square Garden tonight and features three title matches. That includes a title vs. title match in the main event. NXT Women’s Champion Giulia is facing off against Women’s North American Champion Stephanie Vaquer — and the winner will leave with both title belts.
The Hardy Boyz are putting their TNA Tag Team titles on the like against Nathan Frazer & Axiom. if Fraxiom win the match, they will hold both the TNA and NXT Tag Team titles.
TNA star Moose is challenging for gold tonight, taking on Oba Femi for the NXT Championship.
In non-title action, Je’Von Evans and Ethan Page will attempt to settle their rivalry in a New York City street fight. Jordynne Grace vs. Roxanne Perez is also set.

NXT is on the air from The Theater at Madison Square Garden. Opening the show is a tag team title match. TNA titles will be defended on a WWE show. What a time to be alive!
The crowd in attendance is electric.
Jeff Hardy pinned Axiom to win the match. Miscommunication by Fraxiom cost them at the finish. Great opener to kick off the show.
Lots of tandem offense from both teams and high spots galore, but not too many. They flowed well. They built to a series of dives to the outside from Fraxiom. The show cuts to its first commercial break with The Hardy Boyz on defense. Hot tag to Jeff when the show returns from the break.
Frazier goes for tope, but Matt catches him and gives Frazier a Side Effect on the floor. That left Axiom alone against the Hardys. Plot Twist by the Hardys for a near falls on Axiom. Hardys were setting up for their finishers when Axiom counters a Twist of Fate. Axiom shoves Matt into a corner, which trips up Jeff, who crotches himself on the top turnbuckle. That sets up a Spanish Fly.
Axiom with a Spanish Fly with Jeff. Frazier follows up with a Phoenix Splash on Jeff. Frazier goes for a cover, but Matt breaks up the pinfall. Match continues. Whisper in the Wind and Twist of Fate by Jeff for a near fall on Frazier.
Fraxiom went for a high/low combo, but Jeff counters Frazier’s grasp. Frazier was screaming at Axiom to jump. When Axiom finally does jump, he inadvertently nails Frazier with a missile dropkick. Axiom then takes a Twist of Fate from Matt. Jeff then climbs the turnbuckles and leaps off with a Swanton Bomb. Jeff then covers Axiom to win the match and retain the tag team titles.
TNA’s Mickie James has advice to NXT’s Jaida Parker, and Parker appreciates the pep talk.
Grace pinned Perez after going Beast Mode. Second good match in a row on this show.
Perez targets Grace’s leg. The match goes through a commercial break. Grace makes a comeback as the is returning from the break. They trade a lot of strikes. Grace wanted to do a signature power move, but her leg would not let her.
They trade near falls and counters, including a frog splash by Perez for a two count. They work very well together. Great sequences as they go home. Grace delivers a rolling fireman’s carry slam, and Grace follows with her finisher they are calling Beast Mode. Grace then covers Perez for a three count.
Cameo by The Undertaker! Oba Femi is walking backstage, heading for Gorilla, when he is stopped by Undertaker. Taker tells Femi is watched him for awhile now, and he is impressed with Femi. Undertaker stresses the importance of Femi’s match tonight. Undertaker tells Femi to protect his yard.
Trick Williams in a pre-taped vignette promises Eddy Thorpe he will knock him out cold next week. They meet next Tuesday in NXT Underground.
Femi retains via pinfall. What a match! These two had a banger. The unstoppable force meets the immovable object.
This was a hoss fight. Femi gives Moose an uranage on the apron just before the show cuts to a commercial break. Moose turned the tide during the break, and Moose has Femi in a chinlock when the show returns from the break.
Femi powers out of the chinlock and he tosses Moose across the ring. Femi then delivers a pop-up powerbomb. Outside the ring on the floor, Moose whips Femi into the ring steps. They traded big strikes back in the ring. Moose springboards off the ropes, only to get cut down with an uppercut from Femi. Several near falls for Femi, but he could not put Moose away.
Dueling chants from the crowd, while Moose sets up for a superplex. They execute it to a big pop, but there was an even bigger pop afterwards. Moose lands with the superplex and rolls through to lift Femi for a vertical suplex. Femi counters with a suplex of his own.
They traded strikes and kicks, but neither will go down. Moose turns inside out with a clothesline, and Femi goes for a his pop-up finisher. Moose counters to deliver a powerbomb of his own for a near fall. Femi comes back to military press Moose and throw him out of the ring, where they tease a count-out.
The fight spills outside, Moose gives Femi a Rock Bottom through the announce desk. “Holy s***” chants from the crowd muted by CW censors. Moose rolls Femi back in the ring to deliver a spear for another good near fall.
For the finish, Moose goes for another spear. However, Femi blocks it to deliver a pop-up powerbomb. Moose then falls to the mat and drapes on arm over Moose for the deciding pinfall.
In a backstage skit, Fatal Influence is talking with NXT GM Ava. Up walks Ricky Saints, and he wants a match with Ridge Holland. Ava books it for next Tuesday.
Ethan Page interrupts them, and he gets in Saints’ face. Page tells Saints that NXT does not like outsiders like Saints. The irony here of course is Page was recently an outsider himself, which is noted on commentary as Page walks the aisle for the next bout on the card.
Evans pinned Page to win a heckuva street fight. What a brawl and some wild high spots, although it may have gone a tad too long. The finish was the wildest spot of the night.
They were both dressed in tank tops and pants, or street clothes in other words. Slugfest from the start and they brawl around the ring, and then they brawl around ringside. A metal folding chairs are soon in play, and the hit each other with the chairs. Page takes a bump on an unfolded chair, which looked awfully painful. Moments later, Page takes another bump on a folded chair, which looked like it hurt a lot as well.
Evans takes a bump on a chair bridge. Evans earlier in the match propped a table in a corner, only for Page to powerslam Evans through the table after the bump on the chairs. Yet, Evans kicks out as the show cuts to a commercial break.
Evans with a springboard as the show returns from the commercial break. Evans goes for another springboard, but this time is cut down. Razor’s Edge by Page for a near fall. They trade strikes and another slugfest develops.
A table was set up like a bridge from the apron to the barricade in a manner similar to what Sabu used to do in the original ECW. Evans leapt over the ropes for a cutter on Page, who was on the apron. They crash through the table on the spot. That deserved an “E-C-W” chant, but it got a “this is awesome” chant instead. Evans follows that by sailing high over the ropes on a dive to the outside.
Double springboard tornillo splash by Evans for a two count. In a callback to how the feud began, Evans teases using chair to Pillmanize the neck of Page. Escaping that, Pages throws the chair at Evans. Page goes for a move on the chair, only to take a cutter on the chair instead. In a helluva spot, Page has his head stuck in an unfolded chair. Evans then springboards into a cutter, and Page takes the bump with his neck in the chair. One…two…three. The babyface gets his revenge in the end. Great finish that fit the story.
After the match, Evans is attacked but the four mystery assailants that have terrorized NXT recently. They jump Evans and lay him out with an assisted powerbomb. The mystery four are supposedly Cutler James, Dion Lennox, Saquon Shugars, and Osiris Griffin.
Shawn Spears in a vignette talks with his faction, which is now called The Culling. We do that every year here on the ranch, but it is a much different culling altogether.
Eddy Thorpe cuts a promo on Trick Williams in a live interview with Sarch Schreiber. The crowd was loud, which drowned out Thorpe. The crowd chanted “whoop that trick!” As Thorpe is insulting the New York Mets, Trick Williams jumps Thorpe. A brawl erupts, and Trick whoops that other trick all the way to the ring.
After getting Thorpe in the ring, Trick spears him. Trick then clotheslines Thorpe over the ropes. Trick stands tall.
Vaquer pinned Giulia, and now Vaquer hold both titles. Great match to cap off a really great show.
Great counters and stalemate in the early part of the match. These two work so well with each other, and their styles matched together make for a different match than usually seen on WWE television. Vaquer springboards into plancha just before the show cuts to its last commercial break.
Vaquer does her signature headscissors spot as the crowd counts along. Vaquer takes a double-underhook superplex from Giulia. From here, I started having flashbacks to All Japan Women’s matches from yesteryear.
Tombstone driver by Giulia for a near fall. Vaquer turns the tide with a dragon screw, and Vaquer follows up with one of her finishers, but Giulia kicks out. Vaquer went for Spinal Tap off the top rope, but Giulia counters by trapping Vaquer in a triangle. Giulia transition to Rings of Saturn, but Vaquer gets a rope break. They keep trading near falls in the closing moments.
For the finish, Vaquer twice delivers her SVB (package neckbreaker) finisher. Vaquer then folds up Giulia for a pinfall, and Vaquer becomes a dual champion.
Final thoughts: This was a really great show! Clean finishes and good wrestling up and down the show. Some of the matches were bangers. No bad matches. Every match delivered on the show, and the setting made it seem even more important. Highly recommend watching this episode.

Big title matches from both NXT and TNA are now set for next month’s Roadblock.
It was confirmed on Tuesday that NXT Women’s Champion Giulia and NXT Women’s North American Champion Stephanie Vaquer will put their titles on the line in a double title match at The Theatre in Madison Square Garden on March 11. After Vaquer successfully defended her title against Karmen Petrovic, Giulia came down to the ring. The two had a back-and-forth where they both said they were the best champion. Vaquer then threw out the challenge for a double title match, with Giulia accepting.
After Moose retained the X Division Championship against Lexis King, Oba Femi came to the ring and challenged Moose to a match at Roadblock. Only Femi’s NXT Championship will be on the line. The two first met face-to-face on last week’s NXT.
The Hardy Boyz made their return to a WWE ring on Tuesday, defeating No Quarter Catch Crew’s Tavion Heights and Myles Borne. Much like the other two matches, Fraxiom came to the ring after their victory and the two teams exchanged words. This time TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella came out and announced the TNA Tag Team title match for Roadblock.

Jordynne Grace has made her presence felt.
The end of Saturday’s NXT Vengeance Day saw Giulia successfully defend the NXT Women’s Championship in a four-way match. As she recovered in the ring, new Women’s North American Champion Giulia came out and the two posed together to seemingly end the show. However, Grace’s music soon hit as she made her way to the ring. The show closed with Grace staring down both champions. As she exited the ring, she said “See you on Tuesday.”
Grace responded to her appearance on social media, writing two words: “My turn.”
After wrestling her final match with TNA at Genesis last month, Grace made her official WWE debut at the Royal Rumble, entering the women’s Royal Rumble match. Prior to that, she had made multiple appearances on NXT representing TNA. At NXT Battleground last year Grace, as TNA Knockouts Champion, lost a NXT Women’s Championship match against Roxanne Perez.
WWE NXT returns to Peacock and Netflix with tonight’s Vengeance Day from the CareFirst Arena in Washington, DC, with a six-match card featuring nearly every title being defended.
NXT Champion Oba Femi will defend against partners Grayson Waller and Austin Theory in a triple threat match.
NXT Women’s Champion Giulia will defend her title for the first time as she faces Bayley, former champion Roxanne Perez and Cora Jade in a four-way.
Fallon Henley will put her women’s North American title on the line for the fourth time as she faces Stephanie Vaquer.
NXT Tag Team Champions Fraxiom will defend against the hard-hitting Josh Briggs & Yoshiki Inamura who are looking for their first run with the gold.
The card is rounded out by a strap match between former NXT Champion Trick Williams and Eddy Thorpe, and a grudge match between the returning Je’Von Evans and former NXT Champion Ethan Page.

Countdown Show
– From the WWE Studios at Stamford, CT, Sam Roberts & Megan Morant welcomed us to the Countdown show as they ran down the current goings-on in NXT. They also talked about the six-match card that’s set to take place tonight at Vengeance Day. We then got a recap of the leadup to the NXT Women’s Championship Fatal Four-Way match.
– We got a sitdown interview with Corey Graves talking to Bayley where she was asked about why she decided to vie for the NXT Women’s Championship. Bayley said that being on NXT was her way of giving back to the future so she could see if they were ready for Raw or SmackDown.
– The story of how Josh Briggs & Yoshiki Inamura won their shot at Fraxiom was shown before we got a promo from the NXT Tag Team Champions.
– A recap of Je’von Evans and Ethan Page’s feud was shown before we got an interview with Evans and Vic Joseph ahead of the former’s match tonight on Vengeance Day. Morant and Roberts talked about Evans’ demeanor heading into tonight’s match, noting that tonight could see a different Je’von Evans going up against All Ego.
– Trick Williams vs. Eddy Thorpe in the Strap Match was the next match to be recapped by our esteemed panel.
– Next up was a recap of Stephanie Vaquer versus Fallon Henley for the Women’s North American Championship set to take place tonight, focusing mainly on Vaquer talking about how she’d take the gold from Henley.
– An interview with Austin Theory & Grayson Waller was shown, as the topic of their impending triple threat NXT Title match against current champ Oba Femi came up. Morant and Roberts wrapped things up afterwards with a final rundown of the card as it was time for Vengeance Day to kick off at the top of the hour.

NXT Vengeance Day 2025
– Following the WWE signature open, we were welcomed to tonight’s show by Vic Joseph over shots of the Washington skyline. Shots of Oba Femi, A-Town Down Under, Bayley, Roxanne Perez, Cora Jade, and Giulia were shown before we went inside the CareFirst Arena and the cold open got our show started.
Women’s North American Championship Match: Stephanie Vaquer defeated Fallon Henley (c) (w/ Fatal Influence)
Jaida Parker, Kelani Jordan, and Karmen Petrovic were shown separately watching this upcoming match in the crowd before the bell rang.
Vaquer & Henley started things off with a lockup in the middle of the ring as chain wrestling action between the two got things going. After a stalemate, Vaquer and Henley stared each other down before another lockup exchange took place. Vaquer applied the STF on Henley, but was forced to break the hold after Henly made it to the bottom rope.
Vaquer answered with a kick to the chest of Henley and an attempt at her signature scissors roll. Henley, however, managed to escape by rolling into the ropes. Vaquer applied another submission and stopped a Henley pin reversal with a pin of her own, but the Women’s North American Champion kicked out at two. Henley countered a move attempt by Vaquer into an armbar, but had to break it up after Vaquer turned it into a pin attempt.
In the corner, Vaquer trapped Henley with a hanging triangle choke. Jazmyn Nyx provided a distraction, which allowed for Jacy Jayne to hit Vaquer with a pump kick at ringside. This gave Henley the advantage back in the ring. Vaquer attempted to mount a comeback, but Henley stopped that with a series of hard elbows to the face of her challenger. Once again, Henley had the upper hand as she hit a modified Blockbuster on Vaquer for the near-fall.
Henley applied a chinlock on Vaquer, but the challenger broke free from it. Vaquer rolled under a Henley clothesline, but got pulled down by the hair. Henley was caught on the backfoot as Vaquer blasted her with a faint kick across middle rope, followed by the springboard crossbody. This opened up Henley to be trapped in Vaquer’s trademark headscissors pounding for ten times the pain.
Vaquer and Henley traded running strikes, but the former avoided a Shining Wizard for a cover on the Women’s North American Champion. Only a two there. Vaquer caught Henley with Eat Defeat, which sent her foe scurrying in the corner. Running Meteora by Vaquer on a prone Henley wasn’t enough to put the champ away. Henley responded with a pumphandle exploder on Vaquer. Jacy Jayne once again got involved as she struck Vaquer behind the referee’s back. That wasn’t enough to keep the challenger down, though.
Henley was forcibly sent outside by a strike from Vaquer as the action spilled out at ringside. Vaquer turned her attention to Jayne and Nyx and took both down. On the apron, Vaquer hit a modified piledriver before she took down all of Fatal Influence with a dive onto all three members. In the ring, Vaquer finally hit the SVB on her third attempt as she finished things off with a Spiral Tap. One, two, three. Stephanie Vaquer is your new NXT Women’s North American Champion.
A solid way to open our six-match card tonight. Vaquer and Henley were more than up to the task of kicking things off the right way and the crowd got suitably invested in the action as a result. They certainly proved why NXT’s Women’s Division is at the level as it is right now as one of the top women’s divisions in North American wrestling.

– Josh Briggs gifted his partner Yoshiki Inamura with a leather vest of her own as they discussed their battle plan for the NXT Tag Team Champions.
NXT Tag Team Championship Match: Fraxiom (Nathan Frazer & Axiom) (c) defeated Yoshiki Inamura & Josh Briggs
Inamura and Axiom started things off for their respective teams. Frazer quickly tagged in as they used their fast and furious tandem offense to momentarily leave the challengers flatfooted. Frazer blasted Inamura with a kick before Axiom reentered the match. Inamura created separation with a hard chop on Axiom before he tagged Briggs in. The big man took down both champions with separate big boots before he tagged Inamura. Briggs hit Axiom with a chokeslam onto the knees of Inamura, but that certainly was not enough to put the champs away.
Briggs maintained momentum for his team with that most powerful hold, a chinlock on Axiom. Inamura tagged in and assumed a sumo stance before he crushed Axiom with strikes in the corner. The Pro Wrestling NOAH star continued the onslaught in the corner as he obliterated Axiom with repeated chops to the chest.
Axiom’s own attempt at a chop was met with yet another Inamura chop that kept the masked man down. As Axiom recovered, he mustered enough strength to take Inamura down with the Golden Ratio. Both men down as they tagged in their respective partners.
Frazer used his explosive offense to hit Briggs with a DDT and a kick. Briggs managed to heat himself back up as he hit Frazer with a powerbomb. Briggs and Inamura hit an amazing double team toss into a powerbomb on Axiom, but Frazer broke the pin up at two. The fans came alive with.
As Inamura headed up the top rope, Axiom met him there as he hit an avalanche Spanish Fly. Frazer tried to head up top for the Phoenix Splash, but Briggs caught him and hit an avalanche clotheslam that sent Frazer colliding into Axiom on the comedown. Inamura caught Frazer with a fallaway slam as Axiom took Briggs out with a Poisonrana. Inamura had Frazer and Axiom and spun them around before he hit an Death Valley Driver on Axiom that sent him onto Frazer. That didn’t end the match.
Inamura tried to go up top, but Axiom & Frazer avoided calamity at the last second. At ringside, Axiom took down Briggs with a moonsault. Back in the ring, Axiom and Frazer put an end to Briggs & Inamura’s championship aspirations with an amazing modified Total Elimination (with Axiom going up high on the missile dropkick, and Frazer going down low). The champs retained after a fantastic match.
As Both teams showed respect to one another, they were attacked by four men — Saqoun Shugars (fka Lucky Ali), Cutler James, Osiris Griffin (fka Josh Black), and Dion Lennox — in matching black clothes, who laid everyone out with a sudden assault filled with nothing but retribution. The commentators speculated that these were the four men in the quick teasers on past episodes of NXT making their mark at the expense of the NXT Tag Team Championships. The quartet left bodies in their wake, proving that they were ready to shut it down.
You can count on Fraxiom to deliver an exciting NXT Tag Title defense and this was no exception. Credit to Briggs and Inamura for stepping up as credible challengers in this match. The post-match with the mystery group is interesting and it’s quite clear that they might be going after the NXT Tag Titles. That said, it’s not a promising sign when the crowd was left chanting “who are you?” upon the quartet’s arrival.

– Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo talked about how he was going to get revenge on Shawn Spears and his group for what they did to Tony D’Angelo. He said he was challenging Spears for a match on Tuesday’s NXT, stating that payback wasn’t going to be pretty.
Strap Match: Eddy Thorpe defeated Trick Williams
Thorpe got a cheap shot on Williams before the strap could be tied by the official. Williams fought back and sent Thorpe to the outside with a clothesline. Williams whooped that Trick early as the official finally managed to get Williams tied to the strap. Thorpe tried to beg for mercy, but he found himself tied to the strap as the match finally got underway.
Williams seized the early momentum with a series of clotheslines on Thorpe, which sent him out the ring again. Williams used the strap to send Thorpe crashing into the ringpost at ringside before the action returned to the ring. Williams headed up the top rope, but got thrown to the mat by Thorpe using the strap as momentum. Thorpe tied Williams by the legs with the strap and stomped away on his foe. The crowd booed loudly at Thorpe gaining the advantage.
Williams took over and tried for a strap whipping, but missed out. Thorpe avoided a boot from Williams and hit Williams with the strap to the back. Thorpe continued to hit Williams with the strap, but the former NXT Champion fired himself back up and hit Thorpe with strikes.
Thorpe regained the advantage by sending Williams into the ringpost as he used the strap to tie Williams into the ringpost. More whips from Thorpe to Williams. In the ring, Thorpe continued to command the match with a Randy Orton-style backbreaker to Williams. Using the strap, Thorpe threw Williams into the middle turnbuckle across two different corners.
Williams rose up and tried to take advantage, but Thorpe hit his foe by the legs and managed to ground Trick once again. Williams launched a counter-offensive with a strap-enhanced submission hold that Thorpe tried to break free from by grabbing the ropes, to no avail. Williams finally had control as he looked to take out some frustrations on Thorpe with some strap strikes of his own. Thorpe could not escape the fate as leather met the flesh with precision.
Williams crushed Thorpe with a Trickshot Knee that sent his rival flying outside the ring. Back in the ring, Thorpe went low with a strap low blow, followed by a dropkick for the win.
I’ll be honest, it was kinda hard to fully get invested in this match given the rather unfortunate optics on a match involving a Black wrestler getting whipped with a leather strap during Black History Month, especially since said match largely just consisted of the wrestler in question taking the abuse. Eddy getting the win was nice, but I do wish it was in a different match, though.

– The commentators recapped Ricky Starks’ surprise appearance on last Tuesday’s NXT, as we got remarks from Starks himself. He said he’d be signing his official NXT contract on Tuesday as he was still not yet mentioned by name on-screen.
Ethan Page defeated Je’von Evans
Evans started off hot as he went on the offense against Page, who ran out ouf the ring. Evans responded with a dive that he partially overshot as he flew into Page and sent him flying over the announce table. Evans continued his assault on Page with a dive from the announce table as the action went back into the ring.
Evans maintained his advantage as he caught Page with the Blue Thunder Bomb for a near-fall. Page was unable to find any sort of refuge early on until a kick to the gut of Evans briefly created some breathing room. That was a fleeting moment as Evans soared with a springboard clothesline on Page for another two-count.
An attempted springboard cutter was caught by Page, but Evans answered back with a superkick, followed by the springboard cutter on the apron. With Page stunned, Evans placed his head against the steel steps as tried to stomp Page’s head in. Page managed to avoid a grisly fate at the last second as Evans found his leg trapped between the ringpost and steel steps. Page then kicked at the steps to finally get the advantage.
A bloodied Page began to sadistically target that injured leg of Evans with stomps, followed by a submission to the leg. After a brief reprieve, Page applied an ankle lock, but Evans escaped. Page lifted Evans up for the powerslam, but that wasn’t enough to get the victory. Page once again had the ankle lock firmly cinched in with a grapevine hold. Evans finally managed to get to the bottom rope to force a break. Page tried for another ankle lock, but Evans escaped and struck down Ego with a Superman Punch.
Page caught Evans for the Ego’s Edge and connected. One, two… Evans kicked out at the last possible second to prolong the match. Evans blocked a stomp from Page and rose up back to the feet as he unleashed his own combo on Page. He finished it off with an acrobatic rolling kick on Page. Ego was left at the mercy of Evans, who stomped at Page’s jaw. One more attempt at a springboard cutter was blocked by Page, who punched away at the jaw of Evans, which sent the mouthguard flying. Page connectedwith the Twisted Grin cutter, which got him the pin and the win in this grudge match.
Good match here, though all signs seem to point to Evans getting the win here, so it was a curious choice for Page to go over here. That said, it didn’t take away from how good the match and the story behind it was.

– Sarah Schreiber interviewed Stephanie Vaquer after her successful Women’s North American Championship win. Vaquer said that she wasn’t done yet and that she’d be watching tonight’s main event, the fatal four-way for the NXT Women’s Championship.
Triple Threat Match for the NXT Championship: Oba Femi defeated Austin Theory and Grayson Waller
Waller hit Femi with a superkick, as he and Theory began to double team the NXT Champion, clearly on the same page for the time being. Femi blocked a double Irish whip attempt as he then threw both men down with a double chokeslam. A-Town Down Under found themselves the victims of a one-man double suplex from Femi. Theory tried for a roll, but got caught by Femi, who threw him into Waller with relative ease.
A double clothesline from Theory and Waller took Femi out of the equation as the two partners stared each other down now. Waller and Theory shoved one another, but Femi pulled Waller out of the ring before the partners could come to blows. Femi absolutely lit Theory’s chest up with a hard chop as the announce table was rearranged by the NXT Champion.
Waller was thrown into the stairs by Femi, who took the top half of the steel stairs and threw it right into Theory’s face. Waller stopped Femi’s momentum with a drop toehold that sent his face into the steel steps. The Aussie pulled out a chair from underneath the ring as he then began to work over Femi with knees and elbows to the head.
Femi got himself back up, only to be struck down with a chair to the chest and bakc by Waller. With the chair opened up, Femi was placed in position as Waller went up top. Femi caught Waller as he then sent him right into the chair with a sidewalk slam that completely destroyed it. Theory reemerged to break up the count as he stunned Femi with the rolling dropkick.
A-Town Down Under looked to team up on Femi once more, but the champion fought out momentarily. On the top rope, Theory had Femi on his shoulders as we got a Tower of Doom Suplex spot from the three competitors. Theory tried to get the pin with his partner out cold, but Femi managed to kick out. At ringside, Femi gave the fans what they wanted as he introduced the table into the proceedings. Theory and Waller once again launched a two-on-one assault on Femi as they set the table up and placed Femi across it. Waller went up to and hit a diving elbow on Femi through the table.
Theory entered the ring and tried to steal the pin for himself, but Femi kicked out and Waller saw it all unfold. Waller yelled at Theory, as Femi caught the Atlanta native with a powerful spinebuster. With a full head of steam, Femi ran into Theory in the corner as he turned his attention to Waller at ringside. He threw Waller into the announce table to take him out of the equation. Femi punched the steel chair out of Theory’s hand and tried for the Fall from Grace. Theory reversed it and hit A-Town Down instead. Will we have a new NXT Champion? No! Waller pulled out the referee at the very last second to stop the count.
Theory took notifce and yelled at Waller at ringside. Femi had Theory set up for Fall From Grace, but he noticed Waller rolling into the ring for the Rolling Thunder Stunner and got out of the way. Waller ended up hitting his (former?) partner with his finisher, which opened him up for the Fall From Grace by Femi. That’s it, over. Femi retained the NXT Championship.
The lights went out as we saw the four masked men appear in the crowd once again. The group stormed the ring and launched an assault on Femi, as two of the group threw Femi into their cohorts for an assisted powerbomb. This mystery group left the NXT Champion laying, having made an impact once more.
The triple threat match was a fun one, and the added drama on whether or not A-Town Down Under’s selfish ambitions would be their downfall made for an interesting underlying story in this title defense for Oba Femi. What was more interesting was the arrival of the mysterious quartet earlier and them laying out Femi, which raises a lot of questions on what their plans will be.

– Ava was backstage with Sarah Schreiber, as she talked about Roadblock on March 11th. Arianna Grace dropped by for a visit, as she thanked her for making her NXT’s liason to TNA Wrestling. She introduced her father Santino Marella (TNA’s Director of Authority) to a huge reaction from the crowd. Santino said that he hadn’t seen Arianna since she was a little girl, which elicited a confused reaction from Ava. Soon after, Ava and Santino left to discuss future plans.
Fatal Four-Way Match for the NXT Women’s Championship: Giulia defeated Roxanne Perez, Bayley, and Cora Jade
The bell rang on the match with Bayley trying to get crowd into it early. Giulia sat on the top rope and watched as the other three women fought each other. She leapt into action with a dropkick to Bayley and Jade.
Jade and Perez tried to hit a double suplex on Giulia, but that was blocked. Action fast and furious here early on. All four women exchanged pins on one another as they looked to get the win, as they then teed of on one another. With Giulia and Jade at ringside, Bayley and Perez took off for stereo suicide dives. In the ring, Perez and Bayley faced off before Jade pulled the latter out and entered the ring. Perez and Jade began to mix it up briefly before Giulia took both down with a dropkick.
On opposite corners, Giulia charged into both Perez and Jade with boots to to the face. Cover attempt by Giulia saw Perez kick out as Bayley slid into the ring and faced off with the NXT Women’s Champion. Bayley and Giulia engaged in a chain wrestling duel as the fans showed their support for both women in the ring at the moment. With Bayley stunned, Giulia tried for a running attack, but was pulled out by the tandem of Perez and Jade. Bayley recovered and helped Giulia out against Perez and Jade at ringside.
In the ring, Giulia and Bayley caught Jade with a double suplex. Perez almost found herself the victim of a double suplex of her own, but Jade saved her at the last second. The two friends put aside their difference as they went after both Giulia and Bayley. With the NXT Women’s Champion isolated, Perez and Jade pounced on Giulia like sharks on their prey. A running knee by Jade led to Perez getting caught in the crossfire, as she as then kicked aside by Jade.
With Giulia and Bayley at ringside, Jade went up top and hit a diving moonsault on the two of them. Jade had Bayley dead to rights for another dive, but Perez stepped in and unleashed hell on her former friend. Bayley recovered to strike Perez with a running knee as Jade caught her with a boot to the face. Bayley hit an unintentional double-team move with Jade’s unwilling help. Bayley was a house of fire, taking out both Jade and Perez with a double stunner from the apron. Giulia caught Bayley with a Northern Lights suplex as she tried to return into the match.
Black Widow submission by Giulia on Bayley was then turned into a crucifix bomb. Pin attempt was broken up by Perez. In the middle of the ring, Giulia’s STF was turned into a crossface by Perez. That was then answered with a suplex by Giulia. Twisting side suplex by Bayley wasn’t enough to get the win. The action spilled into chaos as an attempted Pop Rox by Perez was met with a knee from Jade. DDT by Jade to Bayley. One, two… Perez interrupted the pin at the very last second. Giulia made her presence known with multiple belly-to-belly suplexes on her competitors. Up top, Giulia tried for a suplex on Perez. Bayley and Jade joined in and we got another Tower of Doom suplex/powerbomb sequence.
As all four women got themselves back up to their feet, the slugfest began with Giulia and Jade fighting and Bayley and Perez mixing it up at the same time. At ringside, Jade hit a suplex on Giulia as Perez caught Bayley with two consecutive Pop Roxes. Jade interrupted and caught her friend with the double-arm DDT. Giulia with the last-second Arrivederci knee to break up the pin. And now it’s Perez’s turn to eat an Arrivederci knee from Giulia, as the Northern Lights Bomb put the exclamation point here.
After the match, Giulia’s celebration was interrupted by Stephanie Vaquer, who joined in the celebration. We got a vintage NXT copyright graphic fakeout as Jordynne Grace’s music hit to a huge ovation from the crowd. Grace entered the ring and stared down both Vaquer and Giulia to end our night.
Solid main event, with four very talented women getting their chance to show up and show out as only they can. I enjoyed this one from start to finish and it’ll be interesting to see the fallout from what we saw here. More importantly, the addition of Jordynne Grace certainly makes NXT’s already-stacked women’s division even more of a must see and it’ll be exciting to see where she fits in as the road to Stand & Deliver in April is set to begin in earnest soon.
All in all, another fun show from start to finish as NXT’s track record for PLEs continues to be a great one. The women, as expected, managed to steal the show as they gave us a grand opening and a grand closing in more ways than one.
A championship summit segment, plus four matches have been announced for the February 4 WWE NXT episode.
Prior to their triple threat match for the NXT Women’s title at Vengeance Day, Giulia, Bayley, and Roxanne Perez will gather for a championship summit on next week’s NXT.
Four matches are also set for the February 4 show.
NXT Champion Oba Femi will team with former champ Trick Williams against A-Town Down Under’s Grayson Waller and Austin Theory. Theory and Waller will challenge Femi at Vengeance Day for the title on February 15.
Stephanie Vaquer is next in line to challenge Fallon Henley for the North American Championship at Vengeance Day, but Vaquer will first take on Jacy Jayne of Henley’s Fatal Influence group next week.
Ridge Holland feud with The Family will continue next week as he faces Stacks. Kelani Jordan and Karmen Petrovic will also renew acquaintances on February 4.

WWE NXT is on the road this week with tonight’s episode taking place live from Center Stage in Atlanta.
Bayley will continue her feud with Roxanne Perez as the two meet in tag team action. It will be Bayley and NXT Women’s Champion Giulia against Perez and Cora Jade.
A Women’s Tag Team title match is also set with Bianca Belair and Naomi putting their belts on the line against Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson. In another title match, Shotzi challenges Fallon Henley for the NXT Women’s North American Championship.
NXT Champion Oba Femi will appear as Grayson Waller and Austin Theory’s guest on The Grayson Waller Effect.
Last week, Trick Williams made it clear that his sights are set on winning the NXT Championship back from Femi. Williams will be in action tonight when he goes one-on-one with Wes Lee.

Personally, seeing pro wrestling on television from Center Stage again is very nostalgic for me. I have watched wrestling on TV from the venue since 1989. Production has come a long way.
The show starts with Bayley’s first match on NXT since 2020.
NXT Women’s Champion Giulia & Bayley defeated Roxanne Perez & Cora Jade
Bayley pinned Jade to win the match. This was such a fun match. Really good opener.
The babyface duo gets to shine early on, but the heels take over before a commercial break. Perez & Jade both do dives just before the show cuts away to a split-screen. Bayley is trying to rally as the show returns from the break.
Bayley tries to climb the turnbuckles, but the heels work together to trip her up and stomp on her. Bayley is separated from her corner, and the heels work her over. Bayley-to-belly and a hot tag to Giulia. Some Matrix moves and Giulia is on fire. Missile dropkick for a two count.
Miss-communication by the heel duo, as Jade inadvertently hits Perez with a forearm smash. Giulia hit a knee for a near falls where Jade dives in to break it up. Bayley rushed into the ring to fight with Perez, and their fight spilled outside the ring.
Perez takes a hard bump into the barricade, and she is down selling the rest of the match. Meanwhile, Giulia drops Jade with a headbutt. Bayley climbs the turnbuckles around Giulia tags her, and Bayley leaps off the top rope with a flying elbow drop. Bayley then hooks a leg and covers Giulia for a three count.
Eddy Thorpe is the focus of a vignette, where is standing by a fire as he cuts a promo. He vows to make his mark, and he will not be broken. Should be noted he still has that strap like in a strap match.
After a fun wrestling match to open the show, now is the sports entertainment portion of the program.
“The Grayson Waller Effect” with NXT Champion Oba Femi
Although it starts as a talking segment with Femi facing off with Garyson Waller and Austin Theory. That leads to Femi issuing a challenge to either Waller or Theory, asking which one will face him at Vengeance Day. Trick Williams is shown watching the proceedings on a monitor backstage.
After Femi challenges Austin and Waller, out comes NXT General Manager Ava. She tells Femi he does not make the matches around here, she does. Ava is then interrupted by the entrance of Trick. He storms past Ava and into the ring. Trick throws both Waller and Theory out of the ring, but Femi cuts off Trick and give him a pop-up powerbomb. The show cuts to a commercial break with Trick down, and has a match up next.
Sarah Schreiber interviews Izzi Dame to ask what is going on with Dame and Tony D’Angelo. Dame says nothing is going on, and they are not even friends. They just have a similar enemy. Up walks Ridge Holland to interject, and he calls Dame a liar.
Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo comes up to take up for Dame, and Holland says he does not want to talk with D’Angelo’s lackey. Holland and Stacks get face-to-face when they are separated by referees.
Referees are at ringside checking on Trick Williams, who is still selling the powerbomb from Femi. Trick vows to wrestle, and the refs let him.
Trick Williams vs. Wes Lee (with Tyriek Igwe & Tyson Dupont)
A day after JD McDonagh took a nasty bump on an announce desk, they do a spot in this match were Lee jumps off the apron with meteora that drives Trick backwards on the announce desk. From there, the show cuts to a commercial break.
Igwe and Dupont get involved at one point, and there is blatant interference. The ref lets it go, as Trick thwarts the heels. However, Trick starts kicking too much butt.
Trick won’t back off when the ref says so, and Trick shoved the ref down. The ref then disqualifies Trick. A miscarriage of justice as Gorilla Monsoon would say. Trick picks up a metal folding chair, and he heels flee.
In a backstage skit, Ava tells Femi that he will defend the NXT title in a triple threat match against Theory and Waller at Vengeance Day. Another triple threat match. How original. But wait, there’s more.
After a commercial break, Ava is talking with Trick, who is upset he is not getting the title shot at the PLE. Ava tells Trick to prove it, and she books him in a tag match with Femi as Trick’s partner against Waller and Theory for next week on NXT.
NXT Women’s North American Champion Fallon Henley (with Jacy Jayne & Jazmyn Nyz) defeated Shotzi (with Tatum Paxley & Gigi Dolan) to retain her title
Henley pinned Shotzi with ‘The Hoedown” to win the match. Rough to watch at time because Shotzi took such crazy bumps.
Shotzi does a dive on to everyone at ringside. From there, the respective entourages start fighting at ringside. They fight their way up the ramp and exit stage right. Henley chop blocks Shotzi’s knee, and the show cut to a commercial break wondering whether Shotzi can continue.
Shotzi makes a comeback after the show returns from the break. She takes some crazy bumps. Moments late, she drops all her weight on Henley when Shotzi jumps off the ropes with a senton bomb.
Henley cuts off Shotzi, and Shotzi gets trapped in the tree of woe. Henley then suplexed Shotzi, and Henley does a famouser (Rocker Dropper), that Vic Joseph on commentary called the “The Hoedown”. Silly name, but Henley is so damn good.
After the match, Stepahnie Vaquer enters stage right to confront Henley. Then a title match is officially announced that Henley defends against Vaquer at Vengeance Day.
Kelani Jordan was very rude to Karmen Petrovic, and Petrovic calls her a “bitch” as Jordan walks off.
Sarah Schreiber interviews Ava in a backstage skit. Ava is about to announce the NXT Womens’ title match for Vengeance Day when Roxanne Perez interrupts with Cora Jade in tow. Perez assumes she is not the challenger, and she blames Jade for losing in the tag match.
Ava instead announces Perez is challenging for the title in yet another triple threat match. What such an overdone concept. Anyway, the women’s title match is Giulia defending against Perez and Bayley in a triple threat.
Jade storms off, as she is upset over the news. Perez chases after her. Later in the show, Jade tells Ava they need to “have a word!”
Ethan Page vs. Cedric Alexander
Page pinned Alexander.
The match goes through a commercial break. Page works over Alexander’s hand, targeting it and smashing the hand on the ring steps. After a while, Alexander fights back with a suplex. Alexander then makes a comeback. Michinoku Driver by Alexander for a near fall. Brainbuster for a two count as well.
Alexander has Page in a submission when Page snaps Alexander’s fingers to break the hold. There is a slugfest and they trade strikes. Page blocks Alexander’s handspring finisher, and Page executes a Diamond Cutter. Page then covers Alexander for a pinfall.
Page pulls the bottom turnbuckle pad off, as if Page is going to smash the injured hand. Je’Von runs down the ramp for a save, and Evans leaps into the ring to splash Page. Evans is a house of fire, and Page is set sailing out of the ring.
Fatal Influence cut a promo where they announced Stephanie Vaquer against Jacy Jayne in match for next week.
Josh Briggs gives Yoshiki Inamura a leather vest in a vignette. Now they have matching vests like a real team.
WWE Women’s Tag Tea Champions Bianca Belair & Naomi defeated Lash Legend & Jakara Jackson to retain the titles
Belair pinned Jackson to win the match, and the champions retain their titles. My feed of the CW was in-and-out several times during the match, so it seems disjointed to me.
The live crowd booed heavily at the false finish, thinking Jackson has pinned Belair. The crowd turned on the match when Belair kicked out.
Belair and Naomi execute a tandem sit-out finisher on Jackosn, and Belair scores the deciding pinfall.
There was a teaser of some sort at the end of the show for Vengeance Day.
A women’s division tag team match featuring the newest member of the WWE Raw roster is set for next week’s WWE NXT.
After a promo segment and brawl involving new Raw roster member Bayley, NXT Women’s Champion Giulia, Roxanne Perez, and Cora Jade on this week’s show, a tag team match has been added to next week’s WWE NXT in Atlanta at Center Stage, with Bayley & Giulia vs. Perez & Jade.
Former NXT Champion Trick Williams will also return to the ring on WWE NXT for the first time since losing his title on January 7 on next week’s show, taking on Wes Lee. Williams and Lee had a backstage interaction this week, then Lee called out Williams in the ring. Williams laid out Lee.
A Grayson Waller Effect talk show segment has also been added to next week’s lineup in Atlanta, plus Ethan Page will go one-on-one with Cedric Alexander.
Already announced for next week, The Meta Girls Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson will challenge Bianca Belair and Naomi for the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles, plus Fallon Henley puts the Women’s North American title on the line against Shotzi.

Several segments have been added to the lineup for tonight’s WWE NXT episode.
The new NXT Champion, Oba Femi, is now scheduled to “address the NXT Universe” on the show. Femi pinned former champion Trick Williams to win the NXT Championship last week at New Year’s Evil in a triple-threat match that also involved Eddy Thorpe.
Former NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez is advertised to “address her future” on Tuesday’s show. Perez lost her championship to Giulia at New Year’s Evil last week.
WWE has also announced a “special look” at new NXT Women’s Champion Giulia tonight.
Three matches have been announced for tonight’s show. However, only two are listed on WWE.com’s preview of this week’s episode, with no mention of the Meta-Four vs. Unholy Union match announced last week.

WWE NXT announced lineup for Tuesday, January 14, 2025:
New contenders for WWE NXT’s top two titles were crowned over the weekend at a pair of live events.
Eddy Thorpe earned an opportunity at new NXT Champion Oba Femi during Saturday’s NXT live show in Jacksonville, Florida, after winning a battle royal.
Thorpe is coming off a title shot on this past Tuesday’s New Year’s Evil where Femi won the title in a three-way with then-champion Trick Williams and Thorpe. He also had a title shot in December which ended in a double pin.
On Friday in Dade City, Florida, Lola Vice earned a future shot at new NXT Women’s Champion Giulia by also winning a battle royal. After the win, the champion came out to confront Vice. The challenger has had several opportunities at the title in the past (Roxanne Perez, Lyra Valkyria) but has never held the gold.
When the match happens, it will be their first-ever meeting.
It’s unclear if these wins will be recognized on TV or just be honored at future NXT live events in Florida.
