Tony Khan appears in new trailer for Dark Side of the Ring season 7

Tony Khan, Jeff Jarrett, Scott Steiner, Matt Hardy, and others are featured in a new trailer for Dark Side of the Ring.

The seventh season of the Vice TV show begins Tuesday, July 7 at 9 p.m. Eastern.

The first three episodes will focus on TNA and Jeff Jarrett. Other topics set to be explored during the season include “Mr. Wonderful” Paul Orndorff, Big Boss Man, Missy Hyatt, the Samoa Joe vs. Necro Butcher match from IWA-MS in 2005, Zach Gowen, and The Renegade.

It is Dark Side of the Ring after all,” Khan says in the trailer.

The trailer is available at this link or below the article.

Dixie Carter reportedly turned down Dark Side of the Ring interviews

Former TNA President Dixie Carter recently rejected interview invitations for the upcoming edition of Dark Side of the Ring.

According to a recent report by PWInsider, the show’s production team approached Carter several times. Despite multiple invitations, Carter chose not to take part in the series.

“Dixie Carter turned down multiple invitations to appear in Dark Side of the Ring‘s three-part TNA Wrestling documentary,” wrote Mike Johnson of PWInsider.

While Carter declined to participate in the interview, several key TNA personalities sat down for extensive interviews, including Jeff Jarrett, Jim Cornette, Vince Russo, and The Hardy Boyz.

Matt Hardy revealed that both he and his brother filmed almost two hours’ worth of content for the show, which this time focuses on Jeff Jarrett’s redemption story.

Season 7 of Dark Side of the Ring premieres July 7 at 9 p.m. ET on Vice TV with two back-to-back episodes launching the TNA trilogy. The third episode on TNA will air the following week.

Who was TNA President Dixier Carter?

Carter served as TNA’s president for 15 years and played a crucial role during one of the company’s most critical periods.

Carter served as the TNA President from 2002, when her family business, Panda Energy, purchased the promotion. She remained the promotion’s president until 2017, when Anthem Sports & Entertainment purchased the majority of the promotion from Carter.

Matt Hardy shares details on TNA Dark Side of the Ring episode

On his podcast this week, Matt Hardy provided some information on the upcoming season seven premiere of Dark Side of the Ring.

Dark Side of the Ring will return to Vice TV on July 7 when the new season begins with a three-part documentary on TNA Wrestling and its founder Jeff Jarrett. Matt Hardy noted that he and his brother Jeff recorded long-form interviews for the project, which will be a redemption story covering the loss of Jarrett’s first wife Jill and tag team partner Owen Hart, as well as his successful battle against addiction.

“In speaking with Jeff Jarrett, had a great conversation with him a couple months ago, and he told me they were talking about doing this, and they’re doing a Dark Side of the Ring, which is kind of a redemption story, which is very cool,” Hardy said on The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy.

“We were sold on it. While we were out in Vegas, Jeff and I both did very long-form interviews talking about everything from the very beginning. When we first met Jeff Jarrett, interacting with him, him and Owen asking if they could put the Tag Team titles on us when we were wearing tights back in the day with hope and faith and plaids, just for a few weeks to kind of build us and make us. Go into everything that Jeff Jarrett has been through, losing his friend Owen, losing his first wife, how his life has been.”

It sounds like the documentary could also take a redemptive tone toward TNA, with Hardy saying he discussed how the promotion is now “thriving” on AMC.

“Even up to that with TNA, whenever we left, whenever we returned to WrestleMania 33, WWE, just the whole to-do. And it felt great to be a part of something that did feel like a redemption story,” Hardy said. “Because not only did we talk about how Jeff Jarrett came out the other end in a much better place and how he has gained everyone’s respect from what he has done, we talked about the condition of TNA right now, how it is in a good place and it is actually thriving on AMC.”

Hardy said he thinks this could be the “biggest star power” episode Dark Side of the Ring has ever produced with how many people they interviewed for the project. He and Jeff were both interviewed for more than two hours each.

The first two parts of the documentary will air on July 7, with the third following the week after that. Here is the full list of topics that will be covered in the season:

Dark Side of the Ring reveals season seven premiere date, three-part episode on TNA

Dark Side of the Ring’s seventh season is set to kick off this summer with a multi-part episode focused on TNA Wrestling and the promotion’s founder Jeff Jarrett.

Variety reports that the new season of Dark Side of the Ring will begin airing on Vice TV on Tuesday, July 7 at 9 p.m. Eastern time. Two episodes will air that night, with new documentaries set to premiere weekly after that. The first three episodes of the season will explore the foundational years of TNA and Jarrett’s personal story of redemption.

“Each season, we try to challenge ourselves to go deeper, and season seven is our most ambitious yet,” said Dark Side of the Ring co-creators Evan Husney and Jason Eisener. “That’s especially true with our three-part exploration of TNA Wrestling, where Jeff Jarrett’s journey of redemption and resilience gives us a unique lens into the highs, struggles, and lasting impact of the foundational years of the company. It’s a perfect example of how compelling and ultimately human these stories really are.”

Jarrett’s life story includes overcoming a battle with addiction and having to endure the loss of his first wife Jill in 2007.

Dark Side of the Ring debuted in 2019 and became the most successful show in Vice TV history, launching “Dark Side” spinoffs on topics like football and pop culture.

“Dark Side of the Ring is one of our strongest franchises that speaks to our audience with its gritty exposition of the real emotional and physical costs behind professional wrestling,” said Vice TV president Pete Gaffney. “Wrestling is one of America’s most influential pop culture phenomenons, and this series further explores the blurred lines between wrestling’s spectacle and reality, ultimately uncovering the truths behind the stories fans thought they knew.”

Report: Dark Side of the Ring renewed for seventh season

More Dark Side of the Ring is reportedly coming.

PWInsider reported on Tuesday that the show has been renewed by Vice TV for a seventh season. Additionally, they report that the series is shooting new episodes and filmed several weeks back in Louisville, Kentucky.

The documentary series has been airing on Vice TV since April of 2019. The sixth season premiered back in March with shows focusing on the likes of Superstar Billy Graham, Billy Jack Haynes, Daffney, Ludvig Borga, and Muhammad Hassan. Over the years the docuseries has focused on controversial people and incidents within professional wrestling including the death of Owen Hart and the Chris Benoit double murder-suicide.

Last year Vice TV aired another pro wrestling documentary series titled Who Killed WCW, which was produced by The Rock’s Seven Bucks Productions that focused on the rise and fall of the company.

Vice has used Dark Side of the Ring’s success to create several similar series, including Dark Side of the 90s, Dark Side of Comedy, and Dark Side of the 2000s.

The anticipation for the sixth season of Dark Side of the Ring on Vice TV continues to build with all of the episodes titles and descriptions being revealed Thursday.
