Bryan Alvarez pins Sean Ross Sapp at GCW Immortal Clusterf***

Bryan Alvarez scored a win for Wrestling Observer/Figure Four Online.

During Sunday morning’s GCW Immortal Clusterf*** event, Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp came out and soon stood face-to-face with Alvarez, who was sitting near ringside with our own Vincent Verhei. Sapp entered the ring, but didn’t realize who was next: none other than our acclaimed host of Wrestling Observer Live and Wrestling Observer Radio, who took off his shirt and entered the ring. The two traded chops until Sapp blindsided Alvarez with an eyepoke. However, Alvarez ducked a clothesline and connected with a superkick, pinning Sapp to score a win for this very website.

Alvarez’s involvement in the match didn’t last long after this, as KJ Orso immediately pinned him with a superkick of his own.

The Clusterf***, as of this writing, is still going on, taking up most of Sunday’s GCW event. Last year’s winner was Brodie Lee Jr., who eliminated Joey Janela to win the match. The two ended up headlining Friday night’s Spring Break event, with Brodie Lee Jr. emerging vicorious the win.

Bryan Alvarez: Darby Allin is the ‘Wile E Coyote of wrestling’

Bryan Alvarez believes Darby Allin takes too much punishment.

On AEW Dynamite this week, Allin was shown being dragged by a car in the desert by Gabe Kidd and Clark Connors.

On the post-AEW Dynamite edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Alvarez said that similar situations happening to Allin on a regular basis makes it harder for fans to feel concern for him.

Alvarez said:

“I love Darby but this guy takes such a beating on every last single show that when this was over it was like, ‘is one person concerned about Darby Allin?’ This happens to him every week. He’s like a Wile E Coyote or something. The boulder is going to fall on him next week but you know he’s going to be back the week after.”

“I think he takes way too much of a beating. Not just in real life but in storyline as well. Something like this happens to this guy on every single show. At this point, how are we supposed to be concerned about Darby? What are they going to do next? Shoot him? Throw him off a cliff? Drop the boulder on him?”
