On the sixth anniversary edition of AEW Dynamite last night, Andrade made his return to the company by joining the Don Callis Family and targeting Kenny Omega. Andrade then posted a tweet today teasing that Omega was only the first name on his AEW hit list.
In addition to this show and his AEW return, Andrade has also booked appearances for The Crash and House of Glory.
LA Park — the original La Parka — is a member of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame. Along with his work in Mexico, he’s spent time in the United States with WCW and MLW during his career.

Less than two years after leaving, Andrade El Idolo has returned to AEW and already has some new friends.
The Mexican star made his surprise appearance on Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite as Kenny Omega was finishing an in-ring promo following a trios match that opened the show.
The lights went out and when they came back on, a masked man was standing behind Omega. He revealed himself as Andrade, laid Omega out with a spinning underhook DDT, and Don Callis then got into the ring and shook his hand to signal he’s apparently joined the Don Callis Family.
He declined to re-sign with AEW, departing at the end of 2023. He returned to WWE at the January 2024 Royal Rumble and later won the Speed title, holding it for more than 160 days. His initial WWE run lasted from 2016-2020 and included an NXT title run and WWE United States title run.
House of Glory has announced Andrade for an upcoming event.
As first reported by Fightful, the former WWE and AEW star is booked to wrestle at HOG Superclash on Saturday, November 15. The event takes place at the Suffolk Credit Union Arena in Brentwood, New York. It will be the promotion’s first time running a show in Long Island.
This is the second event Andrade has been announced for since his departure from WWE earlier this month. He is also scheduled to wrestle for The Crash on Friday, October 3 in Tijuana, Mexico at the Auditorio Fausto Gutierrez Moreno.
Andrade’s second stint with WWE began when he was a surprise entrant in the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble match. His departure less than two years later was recently addressed by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio.
Meltzer said:
“I’ve seen all the speculation everywhere and I don’t know the whole story but I do know it was a discipline thing. It was not his doing at all.“
He continued:
“A couple of weeks ago there was a disciplinary thing and all I know is it was at a TV shoot and he was told to go home and he’s not been used since. I was told it was not drug related, it was not alcohol related, it was not marriage related.”
“Nobody would tell me what it was, but it was enough to be sent home.”

Word of Andrade’s WWE departure broke last week as his second run with the company ended with a release after what our Dave Meltzer reported was “a disciplinary thing” that was “not drug related, it was not alcohol related, it was not marriage related.”
Since leaving WWE, Andrade has posted short messages on his social media profiles thanking the promotion. He also has engaged in social media banter with AEW wrestler MJF regarding a potential match between the two in CMLL.
Andrade was with WWE from November 2015 to March 2021 in his first stint with the company. He requested and was granted his release in March, then joined AEW in June 2021. He was with AEW until his contract expired following the Worlds End pay-per-view in December 2023.
He rejoined WWE in January 2024, making the first appearance of his second stint with the promotion as a surprise entrant in the men’s Royal Rumble match.
MJF and Andrade have had some choice words for each other online recently.
Following news that Andrade had been released from his WWE contract on Friday, MJF posted to X:
“Ay yo @AndradeElIdolo Ima be in Mexico beating the ever loving shit out of Mistico @CMLL_OFICIAL infront of all your broke ass country men. Lmk if you wanna grab a marg before I hope on my jet to Toronto to whoop mark briscoes hillbilly ass.”
Shortly after, Andrade responded to MJF by just posting a middle finger emoji and the word, “CABRO.”
“Oh it’s like that? Okay, Perro,” MJF responded.
Andrade then challenged MJF to a Mask vs. Hair match.
“IN MEXICO! It’s MASK VS HAIR @The_MJF p–sy!!
MJF then responded:
“lol. No. Get over without burning another bridge than we can discuss us having a match at all. P–sy.”
Andrade answered:
“Ok! See you (soon). Be careful in (Mexico) !!!”
MJF then took a personal dig at Andrade, mentioning a backstage altercation involving him and Sammy Guevara from 2022 that ultimately led to Andrade being sent home. He also mentioned Andrade’s recent divorce from WWE’s Charlotte Flair.
“A) I love Sammy (no I don’t) but I’m not him. Fucking try me. B) I’ll boot you off the face of this earth faster than charlotte booted you out of your house, amigo.”
Andrade then wrote:
“I understand!! A) you are more dangerous! 😅😩😅😂 B) I left home! Good luck in your marriage, I hope, and no one cries cuando te golpe you know about me, I don’t know about you !!”
MJF will challenge Mistico in a Mask vs. Title match at the CMLL 92nd Anniversary Show at Arena Mexico in Mexico City on Friday. He’s then scheduled to fly to Toronto for AEW All Out where he’ll wrestle Mark Briscoe in a Tables and Thumbtacks match.
The exchange between Andrade and MJF is below.
A) I love Sammy (no I don’t) but I’m not him. Fucking try me.
B) I’ll boot you off the face of this earth faster than charlotte booted you out of your house, amigo. https://t.co/aTgGHIVkWn
MJF and Andrade have exchanged words since it was announced over the weekend that the former had been released from WWE. Andrade on Tuesday challenged him to a mask vs. hair match in Mexico.
Wrestling Observer Radio with Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer is back with tons to talk about including whether AEW should run a show WrestleMania weekend 2027, all the line-ups and changes for the upcoming week, Tiffany injured, Jungle Boy, Andrade’s future, the RAW report heading into WrestlePalooza, and tons more! A fun show as always so check it out~!

Andrade has shared his first message since departing WWE.
Over the weekend, news broke that Andrade had been released from WWE, ending his second run with the company after having returned less than two years ago. Our Dave Meltzer reported that the release was a “disciplinary thing” that had led to Andrade being sent home a few weeks ago. The Takedown on SI added that Andrade had at least one wellness policy violation during his most recent WWE stint, though it’s not clear if that was the direct reason for his departure.
Andrade has not addressed the circumstances of his exit at this point, but he sent out a brief social media post on Monday thanking WWE.
“Thank you WWE!!!,” he tweeted.
He also posted a thank you on his Instagram account.
Andrade last competed at SummerSlam on August 3, where he and Rey Fenix were one of the pairings in a TLC match for the WWE Tag Team titles. Dexter Lumis & Joe Gacy of The Wyatt Sicks won that match to retain the belts.
What’s next for the 35-year-old Andrade is not known yet. Between his two WWE stints, he was part of the AEW roster and competed under the name Andrade El Idolo. He departed AEW at the end of 2023 so he could return to WWE.
— We have two weekend shows on the site. We’ve got the week news in review show on Friday and last night we did a show covering topics like Turki Alalshikh and the Crawford-Alvarez fight and spectacle, AEW booking, Andrade being fired and should AEW take him, SmackDown, Arena Mexico from Friday and a lot more.
— Regarding Alvarez vs Crawford, the judges had it 115-113, 115-113 and 116-112. I had it 117-111 in favor of Crawford. It’s crazy to me that if Alvarez had won one of the last two rounds he’d have had a majority draw in a fight that he clearly lost. They announced 70,482 fans (Wrestletix has it at 66,953) and a gate of $47,231,887, and the third largest combat sports gate of all-time. I expect some form of numbers of viewers out tomorrow and it’ll definitely have a worldwide number on Tuesday.
— Regarding Andrade, as noted on last night’s show, he was fired by WWE after a disciplinary issue that led to him being sent home a month ago. Jon Alba reported there was a failed drug test and it being his second, it would have meant a 60 day suspension. We don’t know if that’s the issue but the timing would work out.
— I believe UFC Noche last night was the largest gate for a UFC show in the U.S. that wasn’t a PPV show, at $3,586,669.
— For best matches of the week that we’ve been told, the Diego Lopes vs. Jean Silva UFC main event was a fight of the year candidate. The eight man opener at Worlds Collide, Sami Zayn vs. Rey Fenix from Smackdown, the Friday Korakuen Hall main event of Zack Sabre Jr. & Tomohiro Ishii & Taichi & Ryusuke Taguchi vs. Shota Umino & Yuya Uemura & Ryohei Oiwa & Kosei Fujita, FTR vs. Tom Billington & Adam Priest from Collision and last night’s Arena Coliseo main event of Mistico & Mascara Dorada vs. Hechicero & Cavernario Barabaro.
— We’re looking for your thoughts on Worlds Collide, so you can leave a thumbs up, thumbs down or thumbs in the middle along with a best and worst match to [email protected]
— On Google searches, Alvarez vs. Crawford was in a different realm of anything. It was far bigger than any UFC show in years if ever. It was light years above any WrestleMania in interest. The fight had 5.41 million searches. Other topics on the weekend list include Ricky Hatton (who passed away at only 46 earlier today, no cause released at this point but he was found dead at home and it is not being investigated as foul play was involved) with 200,000, Turki Alalshikh at 50,000, Naoya Inoue vs. MJ Akhmadaliev at 50,000, the UFC show last night at 220,000 Andrade at 20,000, Worlds Collide at 10,000 and Gable Steveson (who debuted in MMA on Friday winning quickly) at 20,000.
— Ignacio “Nacho” Barrera, who was well down from the Hulk Hogan glory days of the AWA as a regular television enhancement loser, passed away on Thursday at the age of 71. Barrera wrestled on TV and in the AWA against some of the greatest wrestlers of the era. He also never won a match in the AWA.
— The U.S. was No. 4 in men’s freestyle at the world championships going on in Zagreb, Croatia behind Iran, Azerbaijan and Japan. Jax Forrest at 134 pounds ended up in 5th place, which isn’t bad for someone 18 years old. Zahid Valencia took gold at 189 in a flawless performance outscoring opponents 49-0 in the tournament, while Wyatt Hendrickson at heavyweight lost his first round match and was out. Spencer Lee was knocked out after losing his second match at 125. Levi Haines faces Gerogios Kougioumtsidis of Greece for gold at 174. Trent Hilday faces Amanula Gadzhimogomedov at 202 for the gold medal.
— Raw tomorrow night with a 7 p.m. star has Dragon Lee vs. Grande Americano, Kofi Kingston vs. Penta, Roxanne Perez vs. Lyra Valkyria, a confrontation with CM Punk, AJ Lee, Seth Rolilns and Becky Lynch and John Cena appearing. The show is sold out in Springfield, MA in a 6,800 or so set-up.
— Rhea Riplea attended the Silver scream con put on by the band Ice Nine Kills in Worcester, MA. She asked to get “beheaded” at the end of the show by the lead villain from Terrifier (thanks to Michael O’Brien)
— GCW from Friday night in Detroit: KJ Orso won over Chase Barnett, Brayden Toon & Gary Jay & Jeffrey John & Tre Lamar, Mance Warner b Beastman, Megan Bayne b Shotzi Blackheart, 1 Called Manders b Dominic Garrini, Atticus & Otis Cogar b Matt Tremont & Bobby Beverly, Dr. Redacted b Crazy King, Effy & Gringo Loco won over Bang & Matthews, Leon Slater & Man Like DeReiss and Joey Janela & Marcus Mathers, Ruffo the Clown & Yabo the Clown b YDNP to win the tag tiles, John Wayne Murdoch & Reed Bentley , Murdoch & Bentley b Malcolm Monroe III & Tonny Vendetta (thanks to Leonard Brand)
— A&E tonight airs WWE’s Greatest Moments with Mick Foley at 9 p.m., Shocking Comebacks at 9:30 p.m. and LFG airs at 10 p.m.
— Damien Priest did a skit last night at the Savannah Bananas baseball game at Yankee Stadium. They blindfolded him and he was supposed to find a banana on the playing field with fans screaming to help direct him.
— Satoshi Kojima turns 55 today and Penelope Ford turns 33. Mad Dog Vachon was born 96 years ago today.
— Kevin Steen was supposed to be a surprise today at the Green Mountain Championship Wrestling show today in Barre, VT, to award the Green Mountain Championship to the winner of the Green Mountain Classic, but couldn’t make it so they opened the show with a video with him. The event was the Green Mountain Classic for Green Mountain Wrestling in Barre, Vermont
— AIW has its JT Lightning Invitational tournament on 9/20 with shows at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Among those appearing are Mad Dog Connelly, Dominic Garrini, Alec Price, Swoggle, Tyler Breeze and Colin Delaney. Isla Dawn will be on the evening show. It’s at The Roxy at Mahall’s in Lakewood, OH. Jay Lethal, Swoggle and Danhausen are on their 10/18 show in Youngstown, OH.
Andrade’s WWE departure was due to disciplinary issues.
On the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer and Garrett Gonzales addressed what led to the 35-year-old’s second stint with WWE coming to an end less than two years after he returned.
Meltzer continued to say that when Andrade was sent home, people familiar with the situation assumed he was done with the company. He also said that WWE was once interested in having Andrade wrestle in AAA, but it’s unclear why that didn’t happen.
“I know that they wanted him in the AAA project,” Meltzer continued. “He didn’t do it, so there’s that.”
“But I don’t know that that has anything to do with it or not,” he added.
Andrade’s first stint with WWE lasted from 2015 until he was granted his release in March 2021. He debuted for AEW that June. His AEW contract expired after Worlds Ends on December 30, 2023 and he returned to WWE as a surprise entrant in the 2024 Royal Rumble.
A clip of Meltzer discussing Andrade’s WWE departure on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio is available below.
In a surprise move Saturday, Andrade was released by WWE, first reported by Fightful and later confirmed by our Dave Meltzer.
The outlet also noted it was not part of a mass group of cuts. Jon Alba later reported that he was released from the company and it was not a mutual decision. He has already been moved to their alumni section on WWE.com
The 35-year-old last wrestled alongside Rey Fenix at August’s SummerSlam in the six-way TLC match for the tag titles.
It was his second run in WWE after nearly three years in AEW. He returned at the January 2024 Royal Rumble and eventually won the Speed title, holding it for more than 160 days. His initial WWE run lasted from 2016-2020 and included an NXT title run and WWE United States title run.
He wrestled 62 times in his second go-round and was teaming with Fenix in recent months.
