WWE Raw video highlights: Title change, Lesnar/Lashley pull-apart brawl

Raw’s go-home show for Crown Jewel included a title change.

In the main event of last night’s Raw, Alexa Bliss & Asuka dethroned Damage CTRL (Dakota Kai & IYO SKY) to become the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. The title match was made official after Bliss & Asuka returned earlier in the episode, saving Bianca Belair from a Damage CTRL beatdown.

Bayley got involved in the Women’s Tag Team title match until being countered by Belair. A brawl between the two ended with Bayley giving Belair a Bayley-to-Belly off the barricade and through a table.

With Bayley and Belair out of the picture, Bliss took out Kai and Asuka avoided a moonsault from SKY. Bliss hit Twisted Bliss on SKY to get the victory.

This was Bliss & Asuka’s first appearance on WWE television since being laid out by Damage CTRL four weeks ago.

Belair is defending her Raw Women’s Championship against Bayley in a Last Woman Standing match at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia this Saturday.

Plus, last night’s Raw featured a pull-apart brawl between Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley ahead of their match at Crown Jewel. Officials, security, wrestlers, and even Triple H tried to break up the brawl and restore order.

Alexa Bliss & Asuka win Women’s Tag Team titles on WWE Raw

The end of Monday’s Raw saw new Women’s Tag Team Champions crowned.

Asuka and Alexa Bliss defeated IYO SKY and Dakota Kai to win the titles for the first time as a team. The finish came when Asuka blocked IYO SKY’s moonsault, connecting with a kick. Bliss then hit SKY with the Twisted Bliss, picking up the win.

This ends SKY and Kai’s run with the titles after 50 days. They defeated Aliyah and Raquel Rodrigez to win the titles on the September 12, 2022 edition of Raw.

Bliss and Asuka made their return to Raw on Monday after being laid out on the October 3 edition of the show by Damage CTRL. They made the save for Bianca Belair, who was being attacked by all three members of the group. Later, Bliss challenged the champions to a title match, which was confirmed later in the show.

Belair and Bayley, who are scheduled to meet each other at Crown Jewel on Saturday, were at ringside for the match seconding the two teams. They ended up in a brawl, with Bayley sending both she and Belair through tables outside the ring announcer’s area.

Alexa Bliss & Asuka advance in WWE Women’s Tag Team title tournament

Alexa Bliss and Asuka are headed to the next round of the WWE Women’s Tag Team title tournament.

On Monday’s Raw, Bliss and Asuka defeated Doudrop and Nikki A.S.H. to advance. The finish had Bliss knocking out Nikki as Asuka submitted Doudrop with an armbar.

With the win, Bliss and Asuka will now meet IYO SKY and Dakota Kai, who advanced last week by defeating Tamina and Dana Brooke. After Asuka and Alexa Bliss won their match tonight, they were confronted by Kai and SKY, as the two teams have been feuding in recent weeks.

On SmackDown this past Friday, Raquel Gonzalez and Aliyah defeated Xia Li and Shotzi to advance. They will meet the winners of a Natalya & Sonya Deville vs. Nikkita Lyons & Zoey Stark match that will take place on this Friday’s episode of SmackDown.

The winners of the tournament will be crowned the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. The titles have been vacant since May, when Sasha Banks and Naomi were stripped of the titles and suspended by the company after walking out of Raw.

Six-woman tag team match added to WWE Clash at the Castle

A six-woman tag team match has been added to Clash at the Castle.

Bianca Belair issued the challenge on behalf of Asuka and Alexa Bliss. Bayley accepted for her, ISO SKY, and Dakota Kai, agreeing to a match for September 3 in Cardiff, Wales.

Bayley made her return to WWE following knee surgery at SummerSlam last month, introducing Dakota Kai and IYO SKY to the main roster. The following Monday on Raw, Bayley, SKY, and Kai made their intentions known by attacking Asuka and Bliss during their match against one another. Later, a match between SKY and Belair ended after Bliss and Asuka attacked Bayley and Kai in the ring.

Here is the current lineup for Clash at the Castle:

  • Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship
  • Liv Morgan vs. Shayna Baszler for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship
  • Bianca Belair, Asuka, and Alexa Bliss vs. Bayley, Dakota Kai, and IYO SKY

Alexa Bliss returns to action on WWE Raw

Alexa Bliss returned to WWE programming for the first time since February on Monday’s Raw.

Bliss defeated Sonya Deville in under a minute with a DDT and her Twisted Bliss finisher in her return, her first match since Elimination Chamber in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on February 19.

Bliss had her Lilly doll with her, but did not use any of the other supernatural elements that had been associated with that iteration of her on-screen persona, instead seemingly returning to the character that she played prior to her association with Bray Wyatt.

Bliss had taken time off from WWE after the Extreme Rules event last September, then returned at Elimination Chamber after a series of vignettes where she spoke to a therapist. Bliss then again disappeared from WWE programming, and got married to singer Ryan Cabrera on April 9 in her time away.

In an interview in April, Bliss said that she was ready to return to WWE, but was just waiting for the phone call to do so.

Alexa Bliss ‘just waiting on the call’ to return to WWE TV

Alexa Bliss is ready to return to WWE television and is just waiting on the call to come back.

Bliss, who hasn’t appeared on WWE TV since February’s Elimination Chamber pay-per-view in Saudi Arabia, was recently approached for an interview by street journalist Adam Glyn outside of an airport. When asked when we can expect to see her back in the ring, Bliss said she’s hoping to return to WWE TV soon.

““Hopefully soon. I’m just waiting on the call,” Bliss said.

Bliss said she’s 100 percent healthy and has been ready to wrestle since before Elimination Chamber.

Bliss took time off following Extreme Rules last September to undergo sinus surgery. Leading into her return at Elimination Chamber, there were several weeks of “therapy” vignettes that culminated with Bliss getting a replica of her doll Lilly that contained the stuffing of the original doll. The doll had been destroyed by Charlotte Flair at Extreme Rules.

At Elimination Chamber, Bianca Belair defeated Bliss, Rhea Ripley, Liv Morgan, Doudrop, and Nikki A.S.H. in a number one contender’s Elimination Chamber match. Belair went on to win the Raw Women’s Championship from Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 38.

Bliss and singer Ryan Cabrera got married at a ceremony in Palm Desert, California on April 9.

WWE’s Alexa Bliss and singer Ryan Cabrera get married

Alexa Bliss and singer Ryan Cabrera have tied the knot.

The couple were married on Saturday in Palm Desert, California. Guests were only notified of the exact location of the ceremony the day of.

Bliss described her wedding to PEOPLE as “very non-traditional” and “rockstar” themed, including guests needing to show “backstage passes” to get in. She would later reveal on social media that NSYNC, Bowling For Soup, Yellow Card, Nash from Hot Chelle Rae, and Travis Clark from We The Kings all played at the event. DJs White Shadow, Sega Genecide, Blake Lewis and Ashley Parker Angel also performed.

A wine bar featuring Bonita Bonita Wine created by the Bella Twins was also present at the reception. In lieu of a sit-down meal, the couple brought in their two-favorite Los Angeles-based food trucks, Heavy Handed Burgers and Fries, and Yamashiro Japanese.

“We wanted it to be more laid back,” Cabrera said of the food choice. “A chicken or steak dinner is not really us.”

The couple’s first dance was to James Arthur’s “Falling Like the Stars.”

The Miz, Maryse, Liv Morgan, Braun Strowman, Mojo Rawley, Nia Jax, Sonya Deville, CJ Perry, Kayla Braxton, and more can be seen in pictures of the wedding posted to social media.

WWE’s Alexa Bliss and singer Ryan Cabrera getting married this weekend

Alexa Bliss is set to be married to singer Ryan Cabrera this weekend.

According to a report from PW Insider, a private ceremony will be held in California with guests only being notified of an exact location shortly beforehand.

With her wedding upcoming, Bliss has not been involved in WWE storylines since the Elimination Chamber on February 19. She made it to the final two of the women’s chamber match before being eliminated by winner, Bianca Belair.

“Bliss hasn’t been on television of late with the wedding upcoming so no point in starting her back with no Mania match,” wrote Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

In August 2020, Bliss appeared on an episode of The Bellas Podcast and noted that she and Cabrera actually first met because of a rumor that they were already dating.

“He was liking some of my tweets and a fan saw that and started a whole Instagram that we were dating and tagged everyone in the company. I had people calling me and texting me and coming up to me saying, oh, you’re dating Ryan. I said, ‘I never met the guy.’”

They became engaged in November of 2020.

Alexa Bliss set for women’s WWE Elimination Chamber match

The final entrant has been announced for the women’s Elimination Chamber match at Saturday’s WWE Elimination Chamber event.

Alexa Bliss was revealed as the sixth entrant during tonight’s episode of WWE Raw.

Following a series of vignettes that began airing on the January 10 Raw, Bliss was deemed cured by her therapist on tonight’s show, then declared herself as the final participant in the women’s Elimination Chamber bout in a voiceover.

Bliss last wrestled at Extreme Rules 2021 in September, losing a Raw Women’s Championship match to Charlotte Flair on that show.

Also on tonight’s Raw, Bianca Belair won a gauntlet match to determine which competitor will enter the Chamber match last. Rhea Ripley defeated Nikki A.S.H., Liv Morgan, then Doudrop, but ultimately lost the gauntlet to Belair.

A Rey Mysterio vs. The Miz match was also added to Elimination Chamber on Raw.

Here is the lineup for Saturday’s show:

WWE Elimination Chamber, Saturday, February 19, 12 p.m. Eastern time on Peacock & WWE Network —

Alexa Bliss’ ‘journey back to WWE Raw’ set for next week

Alexa Bliss is returning to WWE TV soon.

WWE announced tonight that on next week’s Raw, we will see Alexa Bliss’ journey back to the program. It wasn’t detailed what exactly that meant, but it was pointed out that Bliss has not been on WWE television for the last four months.

Bliss’ in-storyline absence stemmed from the events that took place at Extreme Rules back on September 26. After Charlotte Flair successfully retained the Raw Women’s title by defeating Bliss, Charlotte grabbed Bliss’ doll Lily and proceeded to rip up the doll, destroying it in the process. Once Bliss recovered, she was inconsolable about the destruction of her doll, crying while holding the remains of Lily.

Also announced for next week’s Raw is a triple threat match involving Doudrop, Bianca Belair, and Liv Morgan. The winner of the match will move on to the Royal Rumble, where they will challenge Becky Lynch for the Raw Women’s title.

Alexa Bliss reportedly taking time off for sinus surgery

Alexa Bliss is reportedly taking time off for sinus surgery.

PWInsider reported this afternoon that Bliss was written off WWE TV following Extreme Rules due to upcoming sinus surgery. They could not confirm how long she would be out of action for.

At Extreme Rules, Bliss was unsuccessful in challenging Charlotte Flair for her Raw Women’s title. After the match, Charlotte laid out Bliss and proceeded to destroy Bliss’ doll, Lilly. Once Bliss was able to recover, she became inconsolable over the apparent death of her doll, wailing on the entrance ramp with what remained of Lilly.

Sheamus is another WWE star that is set to undergo surgery. He underwent surgery for a second time for a broken nose that will keep him out of action for a few weeks. He lost the three-way United States title match between himself, champion Damian Priest, and Jeff Hardy at Extreme Rules, then lost another title match the following night on Raw where there were no disqualifications and no count outs.

Charlotte vs. Bliss Women’s title match set for WWE Extreme Rules

A Raw Women’s Championship match has been added to the card for Extreme Rules.

WWE has announced that Charlotte Flair will defend her Raw Women’s Championship against Alexa Bliss at Extreme Rules on Sunday, September 26. Bliss set her sights on the title following Charlotte’s match against Nia Jax on Raw tonight.

After defeating Charlotte in a non-title match last week, Jax got a shot at the Raw Women’s Championship on tonight’s show. While Jax was distracted by Shayna Baszler, Charlotte hit Natural Selection from the top rope to get the win.

Bliss and her doll Lilly appeared on the video screen after the match. Bliss invited Charlotte to join them on her playground, but Charlotte said she wasn’t interested in Bliss’ mind games. Bliss then said she would bring the playground to Charlotte instead.

The lights went out, and Bliss and Lilly were behind Charlotte when they went back on. When Charlotte asked what Bliss wanted, Bliss pointed at the Raw Women’s Championship. Charlotte agreed to give Bliss a title match, but she said this isn’t Bliss’ playground — it’s hers.

Charlotte won the Raw Women’s Championship in a triple threat match against Nikki A.S.H. and Rhea Ripley at SummerSlam last month.

Extreme Rules is taking place at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. Here’s the updated lineup for the pay-per-view.

  • SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch defends against Bianca Belair
  • WWE Champion Bobby Lashley defends against Randy Orton
  • United States Champion Damian Priest defends against Sheamus
  • Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair defends against Alexa Bliss
