Report: Santos Escobar to undergo surgery for tricep injury

AAA and WWE wrestler Santos Escobar is reportedly set to undergo surgery.

Just days after wrestling the AAA Rey de Reyes tournament final against El Grande Americano original, El Grande Americano II, and La Parka, Escobar has now been ruled out injured.

According to a recent report from Fightful Select, Escobar participated in the AAA Rey de Reyes final despite battling an injury, which worsened during the match.

As per Fightful Select’s report, the injury originally occurred on the NXT house show tour while he was working with Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. during Royal Rumble weekend, a couple of months ago. It was initially feared to be an injury and not a tricep tear. It was confirmed in the report that Escobar sustained a torn tricep injury and is scheduled to undergo surgery on Thursday, March 19, 2026.

Escobar seemed to continue his feud with Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. during the AAA Rey de Reyes final, when Dr. Wagner Jr. interfered and caused Escobar to lose the match. However, with the surgery now lined up, the feud can be expected to get scrapped.

AAA Noche de Los Grandes location & date announced

AAA’s next event, Noche de Los Grandes, is almost here and is scheduled to take place next month in May, 2026.

During the week one airing of AAA Rey de Reyes 2026, the date and location of Noche de Los Grandes were announced. AAA Noche de Los Grandes is now confirmed to take place on Saturday, May 30th, in Monterrey, Mexico. Tickets for the show are set to go on sale on Friday, March 20th, 2026.

On March 15, AAA hosted their 2026 Rey de Reyes show, where El Grande Americano II won the tournament, Bayley made a surprise appearance and challenged Lady Flammer, and Dominik Mysterio defended his AAA Mega title.

Last year at WrestleMania 41, WWE announced its acquisition of AAA and has since then hosted multiple events in collaboration with the AAA and WWE stars. Over the past few months, wrestlers from both promotions have appeared on each other’s brands.

Result of Mega title match from AAA Rey de Reyes

In the main event of AAA Rey de Reyes, Dominik Mysterio retained his Mega Championship.

In a match filled with multiple stipulations, Mysterio reigned victorious after defeating El Hijo del Vikingo. Mysterio, 29, retained his AAA Mega championship after pinning Vikingo.

Despite interference from Vikingo’s manager, Dorian Roldan, and Omos, Vikingo failed to reign supreme. While Omos performed a chokeslam on Mysterio, it was the last moment return and interference from Mini Vikingo that saved Mysterio’s title.

While Omos grabbed and choked Mini Vikingo, Mysterio performed a low blow on Omos to send him down. The duo then followed it up with repeated chair shots to Vikingo, before hitting him with a 619 and Frog Splash to end the match and earn the victory.

Mysterio will now defend his AAA Mega title against the 2026 Rey de Reyes winner, El Grande Americano II.

Tonight’s main event was full of stipulations. The stipulations were that if Vikingo lost, he could not challenge for the title anymore as long as Mysterio is champion, and if Mysterio lost, he would have to leave AAA. And, based on tonight’s results, Vikingo will no longer be able to challenge for the title till Mysterio holds it.

Bayley makes AAA debut, accepts open challenge at Rey de Reyes

Bayley shocked the world when she made her debut on Saturday, March 14, 2026, edition of AAA Rey de Reyes.

In the opening match of the night, former women’s champion Bayley answered Lady Flammer’s open challenge. To a roaring crowd reaction, Bayley made her way down to the ring and challenged Flammer for her Reina de Reinas Championship.

Flammer has held the Reina de Reinas title since August 2023 and became the longest-reigning Reina de Reinas champion after defeating Bayley to continue her title reign.

The final moments of the match saw Maravilla and La Hiedra of Los Toxicas interfere and attack Bayley, giving Flammer an advantage during the match. She took the opportunity and defeated Bayley via pinfall to secure her title run.

Despite the loss in Puebla, Bayley is scheduled to challenge AJ Lee for her women’s Intercontinental title on the March 16th edition of RAW.

AAA Rey de Reyes live results: Dominik Mysterio vs. El Hijo del Vikingo

AAA Rey de Reyes kicks off tonight, live on Fox in Latin America and on YouTube and Facebook elsewhere.

The three matches scheduled to air tonight include the AAA Mega Championship match, where Dominik Mysterio will defend against El Hijo del Vikingo. The stipulation states that if Mysterio successfully retains his title, Vikingo will not be able to challenge for it again while Dominik is champion. However, if Mysterio loses, he will be forced to leave AAA forever.

The Rey de Reyes tournament final is also set to air tonight, with La Parka vs. the original El Grande Americano vs. Santos Escobar vs. Alberto El Patrón. The winner will be presented with the ceremonial sword by Penta and receive a future shot at the AAA Mega Championship.

The third match listed for tonight’s broadcast is Reina de Reinas champion Flammer issuing an open challenge for her title.

Our live coverage begins at 10 p.m. Eastern.

*************

And begin it has! An hour late, but it’s Rey De Reyes, so it’s gonna be great! My only question about tonight is how much clown drama will be involved? Last week’s incident with Murder Clown is still on my mind.

Anyway, I am confident in saying that Rey de Reyes is the premier sword-based match in wrestling and I’m stoked to get it going!

After a special intro package, Rey Fenix came out to the ring to a big ovation. Fenix grabbed the mic and said it was a beautiful blessing for him to be back in Pueblo. Fenix bigged up his brother and then introduced WWE Intercontinental Champion, Penta.

After a hug, Penta got on the mic and told Fenix to stick around. Penta told his brother that he was so happy to finally get to WWE with him, but then got hurt. He thanked Rey Mysterio for filling in for him, and ran down Dom some, before Fenix asked the crowd if they wanted to see the Lucha Brothers together again?

He asked if the crowd would like to see them at Triplemania and they responded in the affirmative. Penta said that he could make it happen and Fenix reminded everyone that they were made in AAA. Penta said that it was time for the world to see the Lucha Brothers.

Penta then moved on to Rey de Reyes, noting it was the 29th year of the event and so many legends had competed at it. He talked about how awesome it will be for one person to win the sword, and then said that his Intercontinental Title was for everyone in Mexico and Lucha Libre. He promised to put the title on the line in WWE and AAA. He then said whoever steps up in the back, he’ll be ready and he’s waiting for a challenger.

AAA Reina de Reinas Championship Open Challenge: Flammer (c) vs ????

So, Flammer issued an open challenge and if she wins here, she becomes one of the longest-reigning Reina de Reinas Champions in history. So all we needed was her opponent.

And who should step out?

AAA Reina de Reinas Championship Open Challenge: Flammer (c) vs Bayley

That was a genuine and welcome surprise! Bayley coming to AAA and having a chance to really let loose is a great idea!

The bell rang and the two locked up, Flammer grabbed the first wristlock and twisted Bayley to the mat. She twisted her arm behind her back until Bayley worked out of it and used a headlock takedown. Bayley rolled Flammer into a pin, but Flammer kicked out.

Bayley came off the rope with an armdrag, but Flammer got free. The two took a second to reset and Flammer started throwing elbows and kicks. Bayley came back with a snapmare and clothesline, causing Flammer to go to the outside.

Bayley joined her with a dropkick before tossing her back into the ring. Bayley charged into the corner, but Flammer flipped her over the top rope and hit a high knee. Bayley staggered back and Flammer caught her with a suicide dive.

Flammer threw Bayley back in and kicked her in the face. She choked her on the ropes and jammed Bayley tailbone first into the ringpost. She put on a rear chinlock and Bayley strugged in the middle of the ring.

Bayley got out and hit a neckbreaker on Flammer. She hit her with a couple of shoulder blocks and then. a side suplex. Bayley hung Flammer across the middle rope with a DDT, but Flammer kicked out of the cover.

Bayley hit a high knee and then a sunset flip, tossing Flammer into the corner. Bayley hit a Bayley to Belly, but Flammer kicked out at 2.5. Flammer rolled through and hit a double stomp, knocking the wind out of Bayley. They got to their feet and started trading strikes.

Flammer kicked Bayley in the gut and then executed a guillotine leg drop on Bayley hung up in the ropes. Bayley recovered and dropped an elbow from the second rope. Bayley went for the cover, but only got two.

Flammer hit a codebreaker out of the corner, but it wasn’t enough and Bayley kicked out of the cover. Flammer put Bayley up on the turnbuckle, setting her up for a superplex. Bayley countered it though and shoved her off. Then Bayley dropped a top rope elbow.

Suddenly, they other two members of Los Toxicas arrived and distracted the ref and attacked Bayley. Flammer capitalized and hit Bayley’s head against and exposed turnbuckle. She planted her and then made the cover, 1-2-3 to retain the title.

Match Result: Flammer defeated Bayley

Rey de Reyes Final: La Parka vs. “Original” El Grande Americano vs. Santos Escobar vs. El Grande Americano

Just to keep everyone on the same page before the match starts here, for sake of speed and sanity, I refer to the Original El Grande Americano as ‘OG’ and the other El Grande Americano, as “Grande.” I was going with Greende, but his outfit tonight threw that off. Also, as we all know, the best jokes are the ones that you have to explain beforehand.

After a recap of the tournament to get to these finals, including the fun fact that La Parka has been in 17 Rey de Reyes matches and if he wins tonight, it would be his sixth, giving him the most Rey de Reyes wins ever. Yes, THAT La Parka.

Entrances were made, cheers and boo’s rained down and it was time for Rey de Reyes!

Immediately, Escobar and La Parka were tossed out leaving the Americanos to face off. Before it could get too exciting though, Escobar was back, followed by La Parka. OG threw La Parka into the corner for some chops. La Parka dodged the next attack, hitting a backbreaker. He then hit a crossbody on OG, but then Escobar threw La Parka out of the ring.

Grande came back in and hit a spinning kick on Escobar, sending him to the corner for some strikes. Grande went up top, but OG made him pay for it, dragging him down to the outside. Escobar got back in the ring with the Americanos in time to be dropkicked out by La Parka.

The Americano’s bailed and La Parka went up and hit a moonsault on all three outside of the ring. Back in the ring, La Parka got OG up in an airplane spin powerbomb, but only got a two count. OG dropped him across the top rope and then dragged him to the center of the ring for some strikes.

OG started working the arm of La Parka, twisting and stomping it. He put La Parka into an arm stretch. La Parka got out of it, but, OG Lured him into a hanging Armbar over the ropes. OG went up and nailed La Parka with a flying clothesline, but only got a two count.

Escobar returned with a northern lights suplex, but OG countered it and chopped him back out of the ring. OG turned his attention back to La Parka, punching him in the corner until Grande arrived and threw some of his own at OG. Ecobar returned with a huge knee to OG and then took out Grande and La Parka.

Everyone was in separate corners and Escobar hit each one with a meteora. He tried to cover Grande, but only got a two. Escobar shoved Grande down, but Grande kept getting back up. Eventually, Grande connected with a high knee.

Grande clotheslined La Parka and Escobar to the outside. OG and Grande faced off in the ring, throwing punches. Grande got a backdrop in before Escobar came back in to get put in a reverse chinlock by Grande. Escobar flipped out of it, into an ankle lock from OG. Grande grabbed La Parka, but Escobar hip tossed OG onto Grande.

The Americanos got sent out and La Parka and Escobar traded shots on the top turnbuckle. Escobar hit a superplex, but La Parka kicked out of the cover. They got up and Escobar went for a Suplex. Suddenly OG grabbed them both and hit a double German suplex! He went for the cover, but Grande broke it up and started punching him.

OG went got Grande’s mask and then hit a fisherman buster before scrambling up to the top rope. La Parka grabbed him and hit a Spanish fly at the same time Escobar hit a superkick. Escobar and La Parka started brawling and the Americano’s took them out with stereo offense. They then both loaded up their masks.

They ran at La Parka, who ducked and the Americanos managed to head butt each other. La Parka went for a cover, but it got broken up. Escobar and La Parka then took each other out with a double clothesline.

OG and Grande started to brawl up into the crowd, fighting all the way to the exit, leaving Escobar and La Parka in the ring. Escobar grabbed a chair, looking to end things. La Parka dodged it and then hit a spinning suplex for a two count.

La Parka went to the second rope for a moonsault, but Escobar moved. Escobar grabbed La Parka and the chair and hit a facebuster onto it. Grande returned from the crowd. He pointed up to the balcony where Los Americanos had OG! They handcuffed him to the railing up there and Grande leapt back into the match.

He grabbed Escobar and dropped him on his head. He went for the headbutt, but Escobar dodged and he hit the turnbuckle. Escobar went back to the chair, but when he grabbed it someone in his old mask was holding it. The masked man took the chair away just as Grande connected with the headbutt and got the pin on Escobar to win Rey De Reyes!

Match Result: El Grande Americano defeated La Parka, “Original” El Grande Americano and Santos Escobar

After announcing that next week there will be a Tag Title Match between The War Raiders and The AAA Tag Champions, Pagano and Psycho clown, as well as mixed Six Person tag and a Sword presentation to Grande, it was main event time!

AAA Mega Championship Match: Dominik Mysterio (c) vs. El Hijo del Vikingo

Dorian and Vikingo came to the ring sans-Omos, which was interesting. Mysterio got a massive ovation as he sauntered out wearing multiple shirts and coasts adorned with ribcages. If Mysterio doesn’t win tonight, he has to leave AAA and Mexico forever (though I still don’t think they have the authority to ban him from the country. But I could be wrong).

The bell rang and Vikingo stepped out of the ring and grabbed a kendo stick (this is a no DQ match after all, I was just reminded by Corey Graves). Dominick got one of his own and the had a little sword fight before abandoning the sticks and fighting.

Mysterio got the first dropkick in, but Vikingo came back and the two traded armdrags. Vikingo sent Mysterio to the corner and threw some chops. He set him up and landed a dropkick right to his midsection.

Mysterio dodged the next attack but not the one after. He rolled out of the ring and grabbed a couple of chairs. He threw one at Mysterio, bouncing it off his forehead. The ref checked him and Vikingo hit a baseball slide on him. He then sent Mysterio into the steps and set up a chair.

Vikingo sat Mysterio in the chair and hit a suicide dove on him, knocking him out of the chair. They both rolled back into the ring where Vikingo make the first cover, with Mysterio kicking out a two. V

Vikingo went back under the ring and pulled out a garbage can. He stuck it on Mysterio’s head and smacked it with a kendo stick. He dropkicked the can and went for a cover, but only got a two count.

Mysterio got out of the can, and Vikingo bit him. You could see a big gash in Mysterio’s head from the chair throw and Vikingo wiped some of the blood over his mouth.

Mysterio began a come back with a sunset flip over the ropes onto Vikingo. He grabbed a kendo stick and smaked Vikingo around before hitting the three amigos suplexes. Vikingo escaped before the third, but Mysterio countered with a michinoku driver.

Dorian threw himself into the ring, breaking up the cover. Mysterio got to his feet and stalked him intot he corner. That brought Omos sauntering down to this, once again, no DQ match. Vikingo looked to steal one and rolled up Mysterio, but he kicked out and hit a clothesling on Vikingo.

Mysterio went to hit Vikingo with the garbage can, but Omos caught it and thew it at Mysterio. Vikingo picked it up and did the same before delivering a double stomp from the top rope. Mysterio kicked out of the cover though.

Dorian grabbed the title belt and shot it to Vikingo. He strapped it on and went to the top rope. He went for a frog splash wearing the belt, but Mysterio moved and set him up for a 619. As he executed it though, Omos caught him and slammed him onto the ring apron (the moustachiest part of the ring!).

Omos choke slammed Mysterio in the ring and then put Vikingo on the top rope. He dragged Mysterio into position and Vikingo stood up, but the wrestler formerly known as Mini Vikingo showed up and pulled him off the turnbuckle!

Omos began manhandling Mini, but Mysterio hit him with a chair. Mini grabbed one too and then beat down the giant. That allowed Mysterio to hit full-sized Vikingo with a chair and set him up for a 619. Mysterio nailed it and the frog splash and made the pin to win the match and retain the AAA Mega Championship!

Match Result: Dominik Mysterio defeated El Hijo del Vikingo

AAA Rey de Reyes preview & predictions: Will Dominik Mysterio leave AAA forever?

Arguably one of the biggest AAA Mega Championship matches of all time takes place in Puebla tonight.

On the show, Dominik Mysterio will defend the title against former champion El Hijo del Vikingo. The stipulation is that if Dominik successfully retains, Vikingo will no longer be able to challenge for the Mega title for as long as Dominik remains champion. However, if Dominik loses, he will be forced to leave AAA forever.

Below are previews, predictions, and betting odds for each match scheduled for Rey de Reyes 2026:

Dominik Mysterio defends the AAA Mega Championship against El Hijo del Vikingo

For a long time leading up to this match, Dominik Mysterio had been a slight betting favorite at -125, with Vikingo at -115. However, there has been significant movement in the odds over the last day since those numbers were published in Friday’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter. The current odds now list Vikingo at -400 and Dominik at +250, indicating that money has come in heavily on Vikingo.

If the match goes the way oddsmakers expect, tonight would mark Dominik Mysterio’s final night in AAA.

I’m going against the oddsmakers here. I just don’t believe The Undertaker, Jeremy Borash, and the creative team at AAA are going to write Dominik out of the promotion. That doesn’t seem likely to me, regardless of where the betting line stands. I’m predicting Dominik pulls off the upset and retains the title.

Prediction: Dominik Mysterio retains

Rey de Reyes Final: Santos Escobar vs. La Parka vs. El Grande Americano vs. The Original El Grande Americano

In the Rey de Reyes final, Santos Escobar currently has the top odds at even, followed by La Parka at +200, El Grande Americano at +250, and the original El Grande Americano at +300.

This is a match that could realistically go any of four ways. The two Americanos could end up canceling each other out, and Escobar is currently involved in a program with El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr., which could also factor into the outcome.

I’m going to go a bit outside the box and pick La Parka here. The existing storylines involving the other three competitors could open the door for him to steal the victory and earn a shot at the Mega Championship.

Prediction: La Parka

AAA Reina de Reinas Champion Flammer defends in an Open Challenge

Odds for this match were only recently released and list the challenger as a -260 favorite against Flammer at +170, despite the fact that we don’t know who the challenger will be.

It feels likely the challenger will be someone with WWE experience. Nattie (FKA Natalya) recently challenged for the title, so it seems unlikely she would be the choice again, and Chelsea Green is injured so it’s likely going to be a face we haven’t seen in AAA before.

I’m not sure I agree that Flammer will lose this title soon. I mean, she’s in the WWE 2K26 video game released this week, you can’t take the title off her now! I’ve also already picked two AAA names to lose their titles to a WWE person, so I’m feeling as though Flammer is actually the right pick.

Prediction: Flammer

AAA World Tag Team Champions Pagano & Psycho Clown defend against The War Raiders

It’s clowns vs. vikings as The War Raiders are -165 favorites over Pagano and Psycho Clown (+120) in the AAA World Tag Team title match. There has been some dissension brewing within the Psycho Circus, as someone has been going around attacking clowns recently, with suspicion falling on Pagano.

That tension amongst the clowns could very well create an opening for Erik and Ivar to capture the titles.

Prediction: The War Raiders win the titles

AAA World Cruiserweight Champion Laredo Kid defends against Dragon Lee, Jack Cartwheel, and TJ Perkins

The AAA Cruiserweight Championship will also be on the line at Rey de Reyes. Dragon Lee currently has the best odds at -150, followed by Jack Cartwheel at +150. Champion Laredo Kid sits at +250, with TJ Perkins at +400.

I tend to agree with the oddsmakers here. Dragon Lee appears to be the most likely wrestler to walk away with the title.

Prediction: Dragon Lee wins the title

World Cruiserweight title match added to AAA Rey de Reyes

Lucha Libre AAA wrestler Laredo Kid is set to defend his World Cruiserweight championship at the upcoming Rey de Reyes.

Just hours before the much-awaited AAA Rey de Reyes show, a new title match was added to the card. AAA Rey de Reyes is set to air over the course of three weeks on FOX in Latin America (except Brazil) on Saturdays.

The newly announced AAA World Cruiserweight title match will take place on one of the three cards. The title bout’s confirmed match card has not been announced yet.

At Rey de Reyes, Laredo Kid will defend his World Cruiserweight championship against Jack Cartwheel, Dragon Lee, and T.J. Perkins. Kid has held the title since December 2024.

The event will also have current WWE Intercontinental champion and former AAA Rey de Reyes winner Penta kick off the show and later present the ceremonial sword to the tournament winner.

AAA Rey de Reyes match card lineup

  • La Parka vs. “The Original” El Grande Americano vs. El Grande Americano vs. Santos Escobar in a four-way Rey de Reyes tournament final to determine the #1 contender for the AAA Mega Championship
  • Flammer (c) vs. TBD for the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship
  • Dominik Mysterio (c) vs. El Hijo del Vikingo in a no disqualification match for the AAA Mega Championship
  • Pagano and Psycho Clown (c) vs. The War Raiders (Erik and Ivar) for the AAA World Tag Team titles
  • Laredo Kid (c) vs. Dragon Lee vs. TJP vs. Jack Cartwheel for the AAA World Cruiserweight title

Report: AAA Lucha Libre World Cup date and location revealed

The AAA Lucha Libre World Cup is reportedly returning.

According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, AAA will hold the fifth edition of the event on Saturday, May 30 at Arena Monterrey in Monterrey, Mexico. The report refers to the show as a PLE rather than a television taping.

This Saturday’s Rey de Reyes event will air its first hour live, with the following two hours taped for future episodes of AAA on Fox. It is not clear if the Lucha Libre World Cup will follow a similar format or one closer to Worlds Collide events, which air entirely live.

WrestleVotes also reported that the status of AAA TV tapings in the United States is currently in flux. At one point, a taping had reportedly been internally listed for the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. Previous reports stated that WWE had been looking at holding TV tapings in the United States on April 11. However, a AAA TV taping in Mexico City has been listed on WWE’s website for that date for some time.

The Lucha Libre World Cup typically features three-person teams competing in a single-elimination tournament. The most recent event was held in 2023. Team Mexico of Black Taurus, Penta, and Laredo Kid won the men’s tournament, while Team USA with Deonna Purrazzo, Kamille, and Jordynne Grace won the women’s competition.

AAA on Fox live results: Rey de Reyes go-home show

AAA on Fox tonight is the go-home show for next week’s Rey de Reyes in Puebla, Mexico.

Three matches are scheduled to air on tonight’s show. The episode was taped last week from the Showcenter Complex in Monterrey, Mexico.

Tonight’s episode will feature the final Rey de Reyes qualifying four-way match with Santos Escobar vs. Mr. Iguana vs. Psycho Clown vs. Abismo Negro.

There will also be a singles match between two wrestlers who have already qualified for the Rey de Reyes finals, as La Parka will face The Original El Grande Americano. The Ludwig Kaiser-version of Americano has also qualified for the Rey de Reyes final.

Also set for tonight, El Hijo del Vikingo will be in action as he prepares to challenge Dominik Mysterio for the AAA Mega Championship at Rey de Reyes. Vikingo will face Dinámico on tonight’s show.

Our live coverage of AAA on Fox on Saturday, March 7, 2026, will begin immediately following NXT Vengeance Day.

*******

Fresh off of Vengeance Day, we head to Mexico for the last AAA show before Rey De Reyes! Before we get into the action though, I want to send genuine best wishes to AAA, WCW and WWE Legend Konnan, who’s facing some serious health problems. Que se mejore, señor!

The show started with a recap of last week’s business with the duelling Grande Americanos that led to Greende Americano qualifying for Rey De Reyes next week.

Dinámico vs. El Hijo del Vikingo

This match was made last week as a “warm up” match for Vikingo before his match next week with Dominick Mysterio for the AAA Mega Championship.

The match was pretty much all Vikingo. Dinamico was able to hold his own in the first part, but soon Vikingo took over, hitting lots of power moves and a double knee from the top rope.

Vikingo started taking his time, setting Dinamico on the middle rope to kick him in the back of the neck, then hit a double stomp from the top rope. He covered him, but Dinamico kicked out at two.

Dinamico came back with some big kicks that allowed him to hit a cutter on Vikingo. Vikingo rolled to the outside, but Dinamico leapt form the top rope onto him. He threw Vikingo back into the ring and tried a springboard sunset flip, but Vikingo countered it into a spiked slam.

Vikingo started throwing fists and got Dinamico into an electric chair position that he moved into a modified suplex for a two count. Dinamico blocked an arm drag, but Vikingo threw a lariat that knocked him to the mat.

Vikingo picked up Dinamico and threw him into the turnbuckles. He hit a 630 splash and made the pin, picking up the victory on his way to Rey De Reyes.

Match Result: El Hijo del Vikingo defeated Dinámico

-Suddenly, AAA Mega Champion Dominick Mysterio appeared on the screen. He congratulated Vikingo on his victory tonight, but he will show him what it means to be a real champion at Rey De Reyes. As the segment ended, Vikingo looked a little worried.

-AAA Women’s Champion Flammer appeared on screen next, issuing an open challenge for her title to not the women of AAA, but the women of WWE at Rey De Reyes.

Rey de Reyes Tournament Qualifying Match: Mr. Iguana vs. Santos Escobar vs. Psycho Clown vs. Abismo Negro

Off of the bell, Iguana and Escobar let Psycho and Negro take each other own. Negro turned his attention to Iguana, until Psycho clown took him out. Clown hit a hurricanrana, and Iguana came back with a dive over the ropes to take out Escobar.

Iguana and Clown faced off in the ring, but Escobar put a stop to it, sending Iguana out of the ring. Escobar went for a cover, but Negro broke it up and the two slugged it out in the middle of the ring. Negro sent Escobar to the floor with a clothesline and Iguana took him out with an Iguanarana.

Iguana grabbed his puppet and Clown gave her a gentle pat. He then dragged Iguana to the corner where ht leapt off the ring post onto Negro on the outside. Clown followed with a leap of his own.

Clown and Iguana got back in the ring and Iguana hit an insiguri. He went for a diving headbutt, but Clown caught him and deposited him in the corner. Iguana jumped, but Clown caught him in a powerslam. Negro broke up the subsequent pin.

Negro hit a gutbuster on Clown, but couldn’t get a three count. Negro went for a piledriver, but El Fiscal showed up and jumped in the ring to fight Negro. He clotheslined him over the ropes and they fought to the barricades and up into the crowd.

With the 4-way now a 3-way, Escobar hit a meteora on Clown in the corner. Clown came back with a superkick and then a Psycho Driver. He dropped the straps and went up to the top turnbuckle. Suddenly, The War Raiders (#1 Contenders to Clown and Pagano’s tag titles) showed up and pulled him off the ropes.

They laid a beating into him until Clown’s partner Pagano arrived with a Kendo stick and drive them off. Iguana took advantage of the chaos and hit a hurricanrana on Escobar. Escobar raked the eyes of Iguana and dropped him with a Hands of Destiny. Escobar pinned Iguana and solidified his spot in the Rey De Reyes finals!

Match Result: Santos Escobar defeated Mr. Iguana, Psycho Clown and Abismo Negro

-After the match, Psycho Clown and Pagano walked to the back, but noticed that Murder Clown was missing! First Dave, then Panic Clown, now Murder Clown! Something is up! The sound of someone in the next room was heard, and they kicked in the door, only to find Murder Clown! Dropping a deuce! Whew. And Ew.

La Parka vs. The “Original” El Grande Americano

So, just to remind everyone, to keep things straight, I refer to the “Original” El Grande Americano as “OG” and the other El Grande Americano as ‘Greende Americano.’ Not that it’s likely that will come up in this match or anything.

La Parka is crazy popular and I am so happy to be able to say that. He got a huge ovation as he entered the match.

They locked up off the top, with OG sending La Parka into the corner. He went for a chop, but La Parka danced out of it. They locked up again with la Parka landing a shoulder tackle. OG took La Parka to the mat and they rolled through some pinning combinations.

La Parka started pulling OG around with arm drags, leading to a reset. OG rolled out of the ring, giving La Parka some room to dance. The crowd HATED OG and screamed at him over the barricade. OG got back into the ring and sent La Parka to the corner, chopping and stomping him.

La Parka found himself in an ankle lock in the middle of the ring, but managed to counter it into a pin attempt. La Parka scooped up OG for a backbreaker and sent him to the outside. OG got back in, but fell victim to an insiguri off the apron. He dodged La Parka jumping at him and then dropped La Parka on a table in a shinbreaker.

OG threw La Parka into the ring steps then back into the ring ring. He hit a dragon screw takedown and wrapped La Parka’s leg around the ring post, smashing his knee. OG dragged La Parka to the middle of the ring and continued working the knee.

OG grapevined La Parka’s leg, bending it horribly. La Parka managed a sunset flip, but OG still had ahold of things and sent him to the corner. He tried a chop, but La Parka dodged. He came back with another Dragon screw take down though.

La Parka went to the outside to regroup, but his attempt to jump back in turned into a northern lights suplex instead. OG started messing with La Parka’s mask, but the Ref put a stop to it. OG went for a suplex, but La Parka countered it and whipped him into the corner.

They two traded blows until La Parka hit a drop kick and facebuster. He hit a second one, but clearly La Parka’s knee was not at 100%. He tried a bridge suplex, but OG kicked out at two.

OG slid over into a backslide, but La Parka kicked out at two. OG hit a liger kick and then a fisherman brainbuster, but La Parka just wouldn’t give in. OG went up to the top turnbuckle, but La Parka joined him and nailed a Spanish Fly. He went for the cover, but OG kicked out.

The two exchanged rolling pin attempts until OG got the ankle lock on. La Parka kicked out and went for a bone breaker, but OG turned his mask backwards and hit a bridging German suplex to pick up the victory.

Match Result: The “Original” El Grande Americano defeated La Parka

After the match, Santos Escobar came out, as did Greende Americano and that meant all four competitors in the Rey de Reyes finals were on the stage. Rey de Reyes starts next week! Be there, or be, well, somewhere else. I’m not a cop.

*************

All right my friends, unless someone in a black track suit shows up, we are (finally) off and running with AAA!

El Greende Americano (I can’t believe it took me so long to think of that) was shown as one of the many wrestlers arriving to work in a traditional opening segment after a quick recap of last week’s Vikingo/Mysterio contract signing. It went fine.

The show began proper and el Greende Americano came to the ring. He grabbed a mic and the crowd sang and chanted for him a lot. He said it was great to be back home and told the crowd they needed to talk about that “fraud,” referring to the OG Americano. Greende accused OG of having to use AI in his video last week because he doesn’t know how to speak Spanish.

Greende then threw to roving reporter Pimpinela Escarlata. Escarlata went to OG’s dressing room and spoke to OG. He used rudimentary spanish like “bueno” and Escarlata accused him of not knowing any Spanish and then beat up Escarlata until security had to pull him off. Then it cut to commercial ending a very, very strange segment.

More technical difficulties from Mexico had us come back to some audio over a black screen, then a quick recap of last week’s Crusierwieght title match between TJ Perkins and the champion, the Laredo Kid. Spoiler, Kid won. So that means we need a new #1 Contender!

AAA World Cruiserweight Championship No 1. Contender’s Match: Dragon Lee vs. Jack Cartwheel

You might remember Dragon Lee from hanging out with AJ Styles. You might remember Jack Cartwheel from the cartwheeling.

The match kicked off with a handshake and a tie up. Lee sent Cartwheel to the corner but he was able to flip out and they traded wristlocks. Cartheel came off the ropes with the flippin’ and the floppin’ and took Lee down with a headscissor.

They ran through some chain moves and Lee went for a Ligerbomb, but Cartwheel got out of it and Lee took a moment on the outside. That let Cartwheel fly over the top rope onto him and throw him back in the ring.

Cartwheel went to do a spin through the ropes (kind of a reverse 619 or 916 as it were) and Lee kicked him right in the face. Cartwheel crumpled and Lee brought him back in for a two count. Lee got to his feet and threw some punches.

He charged Cartwheel who countered with a spanish fly, but could only get a two count. Lee came back with a high knee and they traded superkicks. Cartwheel hit a suplex and then a stunner, but Lee got him with a sit out Liger bomb and somehow Catwheel kicked out.

Cartwheel hit a superkick and poisonrana before going up top for an incredible springboard twisting phoenix splash, but Lee kicked out at 2.8.

Cartwheel went back up but Lee caught him off the jump and hit a Styles Clash, but not even that could put Cartwheel down for three. Lee went up top, but Cartwheel cut him off with a flipping kick, hanging him up on the turnbuckle.

They fought to the top rope and Cartwheel went for a hurricanrana from the top, but Lee countered it with a doublestomp to the heart a dropkick into the turnbuckle. He hit Operation Dragon and that was it. Lee wins and becomes #1 Contender for Laredo Kid’s Cruiserweight Title.

Match Result: Dragon Lee defeated Jack Cartwheel

After the match, Lee grabbed a mic and thanked the crowd. Suddenly, TJ Perkins arrived in his questionable jacket and said that Laredo Kid cheated in their match, implying that he’s the real #1 Contender. Lee invited him to step into the ring about it and then Laredo Kid came down and all three brawled, until Cartwheel got back up and cleared the ring of all three. Perhaps they will solve this in a four-way match, fatally.

-Backstage a man who was absolutely a real doctor said something really fast in Spanish about the status of Pimpinela Escarlata, who was beaten up by OG Grande Americano. Unfortunately, there was no translation or caption, but hopefully after the commercial break things will be clearer.

-Back from said break, Vikingo, Omos and Dorian were shown standing on a balcony. Vikingo said that Omos will win his match tonight and Rey de Reyes, and Vikingo will win the AAA Mega Championship from Dominick Mysterio. BUT, that means they will have to face each other!

Dorion said not to worry, he has had a plan for a long time and it’s going swimmingly. Next week, Vikingo will have a warm up match, Omos will win tonight and everything is going according to the plan that Dorion has been laying out.

-Back stage, we got our update as Greende Americano was shown assisting EMT’s putting Pimpinela Escarlata into an ambulance. Pimpinela begged Greende to take their place in the match and win it. Greende agreed and then:

Rey de Reyes Fatal 4-Way Qualifying Match: El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. vs. Pimpinela Escarlata vs. Omos vs. Ethan Page

Became:

Rey de Reyes Fatal 4-Way Qualifying Match: El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. vs. El Grande Americano (Green) vs. Omos vs. Ethan Page

Now that was a journey! Honestly, kudos to AAA for telling more story in one hour-long episode than other promotions do in a 3-hour event. It’s really fun to watch.

A few weeks ago, the OG Americano took out Greende Americano in what was to be his Rey de Reyes qualifying match. OG took his place and won. Now Greende has replaced someone in another qualifier and has a chance to face off with OG at Rey de Reys. Ain’t wresting grande? er, grand?

Anyway, the match started and Page immediatly bailed from the ring. Omos took over, taking out Americano and Wagner. Page came back in and tried to make friends with Omos, even laying a performatory beat down on Wagner and Americano. Omos didn’t buy it though and flattened him with a big boot.

Wagner and Americano tried to suplex Omos, but Omos shrugged them off and dropped Americano onto Wagner. The crowd for this was very happy and very LOUD, by the way.

Americano tried to go at Omos solo, but that didn’t work. Omos threw some massive elbows and side slammed him before turning his attention to Wagner. He dropped him snake eyes on the turnbuckle then sent him flying with a big boot.

Omos went for a cover, but Page broke it up. Omos grabbed him by the throat, allowing Americano to jump on his back to try a sleeper. Wagner tried a front headlock and Omos stayed on his feet, holding them up. Page charged and Omos kicked him down WHILE STILL HOLDING THE OTHER TWO IN THE AIR!

“This looks like a child playing with action figures!” – Corey Graves

Omos stepped out of the ring to throw page over an announce table and Grande treid to dive on him, but Omos caught him in mid air and dropped him. Page tried to take out Omos’ eyes, and Wagner hit a suicida, staggering Omos for the first time.

Omos slumped over the steps, and Page and Americano jumped back into the ring to try and get a pin on each other. Americano tried to walk the ropes but Page pulled him into a tree of woe for some stomps. Page hit a powerslam and went for a pin, but Wagner came crashing down with a frog splash and broke it up. He tried a cover on Page, but only got two.

Wagner blasted Page with an exposed elbow, but Page fought back with a superkick. He started messing with Wagner’s mask, but Americano returned and dropkicked him. Americano hit a clothesline from the top rope and Omos rose like the Ghost of Christmas Past and got back in the ring.

Americano threw everything he had at him and Omos was not at 100%. Americano tried to dump him over the ropes, but needed Wagner’s help to do it. Omos crumbled, taking them out with him. Omos went to punch Americano, but he ducked and Omos hit his arm on the ringpost.

Wagner and Americano got back in the ring and started throwing hands. Americano got a rolling senton on Wagner, but Page returned and threw Americano out of the ring, tying to steal one. Wanger kicked out though and hit a Wagner driver on Page, but Santos Escobar showed up and pulled Wagner out to brawl. Look for them to have a match later, as they fought up the ramp and into the back.

In the ring, Page and Americano fought on the apron with Americano getting the upper hand until Omos grabbed them both by the throat. Suddenly, Rayo and Bravo Americano showed up and long sotry short, they handcuffed Omos to the ring post!

That gave Greende Americano a chance to load up his mask charge Page. Page booted him, but Americano countered with a surfboard! Page tapped, but in the melee the ref had gotten knocked out!.

Suddenly, OG Americano arrived to taunt Greende. Rayo and Bravo attacked, but OG fought them off. IN the ring, Page grabbed Greende and hit a powerbomb. The ref came to and counted 1-2-NO! Greende kicked out!

Then La Parka showed up and took out OG, giving Greende a chance to nail Page with the loaded headbutt and pin him to get the victory and qualify for Rey de Reyes!

Match Result: El Grande Americano (Green) defeated El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr., Omos and Ethan Page

To close things out, I’d just like to say THAT WAS AWESOME! (clap-clap clap-clap-clap)

Rey de Reyes qualifier part of next week’s AAA on Fox lineup

A Rey de Reyes qualifying match is set for next week’s AAA on Fox.

It was announced that Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr.. will face Omos, Ethan Page, and Piminela Escarlata in a four-way qualifying match on next week’s show. The winner will advance to the finals at Rey de Reyes where they will meet La Parka and the Original El Grande Americano, who have already qualified.

Wagner has been embroiled in a feud with Santos Escobar in recent weeks. After Wagner picked up a victory on Saturday, Santos Escobar appeared on screen and said he would face Wagner in his own time and wasn’t in Mexico. That was later revealed to be a ruse when Escobar jumped Wagner in the parking lot.

Another match set for next week is Dragon Lee facing Jack Cartwheel. Lee was last seen on AAA television losing a Rey de Reyes qualifier, with El Grande Americano earning the victory over Lee, Octagon Jr., and Rey Fenix.

AAA on Fox (February 28)

  • Rey de Reyes qualifier: Pimpinela Escarlata vs. Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr vs. Omos vs. Ethan Page
  • Dragon Lee vs. Jack Cartwheel

Stipulations revealed for Mega title match at AAA Rey de Reyes

The stakes are high for the Mega title match at AAA Rey de Reyes, with the stipulations now confirmed.

On March 14, 2026, El Hijo del Vikingo will challenge Dominik Mysterio for his AAA Mega Championship at Auditorio GNP Seguros in Puebla in a no-disqualification match. The stipulations for the match includes if Mysterio wins, Vikingo cannot challenge for the title as long as Mysterio is the champion. If Vikingo wins, Mysterio must leave AAA forever.

In the main event of the February 21 edition of AAA on Fox, fans witnessed the contract signing between Mysterio and Vikingo. While the Mexican luchador had previously asked Mysterio to put his hair on line, he appeared with a new set of stipulations on Saturday’s episode. Vikingo previously earned a title shot at Mysterio’s Mega title by winning a multi-man match.

Saturday’s main event segment concluded with Omos confronting Mysterio. However, Ludwig Kaiser’s El Grande Americano appeared in time to make the save and escorted the champion away. Although the situation changed when the original El Grande Americano attacked the current one. Mysterio watched the chaos unfold for a moment before ultimately walking out.

AAA Rey de Reyes lineup | March 14, 2026

  • Dominik Mysterio (c) vs. El Hijo del Vikingo for the AAA Mega Championship
  • Pagano and Psycho Clown (c) vs. War Raiders (Erik and Ivar) for the AAA World tag team titles
  • La Parka vs. “The Original” El Grande Americano vs 2 pending opponents, in the Rey de Reyes tournament final to determine the number 1 contender for the AAA Mega Championship

**********

It’s another night of Luchadore action from Mexico featuring the most unpredictable and dreaded confrontation in professional wrestling: The Contract Signing.

I’m going to go right out onto this limb and predict that it doesn’t go as planned.

Footage of Dominick Mysterio arriving to work was shown, along with footage of Vikingo and Omos just chilling in the parking lot.

AAA Latin American Championship Match: El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. (c) vs. Belcegor

Wagner came to the ring and grabbed a mic. He addressed the crowd and Rey Mysterio translated for us rubes. Wagner said that he would take on anyone, but he knows who wants his title. He said that he wanted to defend his title against the “Wagnermaniacs” and he called out anyone from the back. The challenge was answered by Belcegor.

Belcegor sent Wagner into the corner off the top and hit him with a dropkick. He sent Wagner to the mat with a lariat. He then laid him out across the ropes for a neckbreaker, keeping control of the match. Belcegor laid in a few kicks and that seemed to wake up Wagner.

Wagner came off the ropes with a head butt and then chopped Belcegor to the mat. He sent him tot he corner and landed a step up knee and a death valley driver, but only a two count. Wagner lifted Belcegor up on his shoulders for a drop down powerbomb and that was it. Wagner gets the victory.

Match Result: El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. defeated Belcegor

After the match Wagner got back on the mic and called out Santos Esobar. Escobar appeared on the videotron, reminding Wagner that he wasn’t in Mexico tonight. He said that their match will happen on his terms.

AAA Cruiserweight Championship Match: Laredo Kid (c) vs. T.J. Perkins

Laredo has held the Crusierweight title for over 400 days at this point and TJP has been wearing short pants for all of them (I presume).

The match started with TJP going for a wristlock, trying to get the technical advantage. They flipped around and traded wristlocks untl Laredo got TJP in a head scissor. TJP worked himself out of it and the two took a second to reset.

TJP sent Laredo off the ropes who came back with a headscissor takedown. They moved tot he outside where TJP bonked Laredo off the announce table. They climbed to the apron and Laredo laid TJP out with a big punch, but TJP came back with a dropkick.

TJP worked Laredo over in the corner, including a running boot to the face. TJP hit a backbreaker for a two count and then put on a headlock. He then started messing with Laredo’s mask before sending him to the corner. When he charged, Laredo moved and hit a missile dropkick.

TJP went to the outside, but Laredo followed with a dive. Laredo set him up in the corner for a big forearm and then put him on the top turnbuckle. TJP knocked him off the turnbuckle, but Laredo moved to avoid the splash.

Perkins tried to steal one with a handfull of tights, but the Ref saw it and called it off. Laredo then rolled up TJP and the ref counted three, but TJP had his hand on the ropes! The ref didn’t see it though and Laredo was declared the winner.

Match Result: Laredo Kid defeated T.J. Perkins

After the match, TJP dropkicked Laredo to the outside and then sent him into the steel steps. He laid Laredo out on them and punched him repeatedly. The ref tried to stop it, but TJP grabbed the title belt and smashed Laredo in the face with it. He then set up Laredo and stomped his head onto the steps again.

El Fiscal vs. Abismo Negro

This is a grudge match with a capital grudge as El Fiscal and Negro have included lots and lots of fire in their matches so far.

The two started brawling right off the top with Fiscal being sent to the outside. Fiscal was pulled down by Negro via ankle and Negro sent him flying into the stairs. Fiscal crawled around the side of the ring but negro was waiting for him and thew punches across the barricade, and laid a few into his gut just for good measure.

Fiscal countered though and sent Negro into the opposite steps smashing his shoulder against them. Fiscal then started clearing off the announce table, which is we all know from watching professional wrestling means that he’s setting up a nice dinner.

In reality though, Fiscal grabbed Negro by the noggin punched him a bunch of times, setting him up for a table spot. The ref finally got involved and tried to stop Fiscal who threw him into the side of the ring apron. By doing so, Fiscal actually got himself disqualified and the bell rang ending the match.

Match Result: Abismo Negro defeated El Fiscal via DQ

They weren’t done though as Negra was still laid out over the announce table. Security came down to the ring and if you’ve ever watched professional wrestling you know there is no more inept group in the world than WWE sponsored Security Forces.

They failed to stop Fiscal getting up on the table but they did stop him when he tried to pile drive Negro through it. After being pulled off the table, Negro came back to life and swept Fiscal’s ankle leaving him lying on said table.

Security tried to take Negro to the back and Fiscal got back in the ring, only to dive over the top rope to take out the security guards holding Negro back. Negro started punching Fiscal and the two brawled all the way up the ramp while roughly 17 security guards could do absolutely nothing to pull these two apart. Fiscal started punching Negro up against the ring apron and finally enough security arrived to break them apart.

But, no! Fiscal and Negro started brawling a third time but security managed to separate them. Fiscal went back into the ring and dropped his straps which is wrestling code for “I’m getting real serious now.”

Security took Negro to the back but Fiscal remained in the ring calling for him to come down to fight, while some more security knelt at the side of the ring begging Fiscal not to do anything rash. Fiscal took that opportunity to pose for a minute.

-Backstage El Hijo de Dr Wagner Jr was interviewed on his way out of the arena but before he could say too much, he was attacked from behind by Santos Escobar who was in fact, in Mexico, despite what he’d had us believe earlier.

-Next up was the dreaded contract signing, the most dangerous segment in all of professional wrestling between AAA Mega Champion Dominic Mysterio and El Hijo de Vikingo. They’re set to face each other at Rey de Reyes but first, the paperwork.

Desks and chairs were set up in the ring as both wrestlers made their way down, Mysterio getting the much bigger pop but the Vikingoo having the much bigger friend in Omos.

Dominic said he’d be Mega Champion for a very long time. He said that he’s going to hold the Mega Championship so long that no one will be able to think of anyone but him when they look at it. Mysterio called Vikingo a “cockroach that wouldn’t die” and promised that when he beats him, he’ll never get another shot as long as Mysterio is champion.

Vikingo said that he only needs one opportunity to humiliate Mysterio and he’s going to do it. When he wins the Mega Championship, Mysterio must leave Mexico and AAA forever, which I really don’t think he has the authority to do, but it sounds good. He then said that their match would be No DQ.

Mysterio signed his side of the paper and Vikingo celebrated, calling him an idiot. Vikingo said that he’s going to enjoy beating Mysterio and will show him what’s going to happen to him at Rey de Reyes.

The scene switched to a hospital where Dr. Vikingo entered the room of the wrestler formerly known as Mini Vikingo, who was laid up in a neck brace after a beating from Omos. Vikingo started beating him up (the hospital must employ the same security guards) and Vikingo threw him out of the bed and said that Mysterio would take his spot at Rey De Reyes.

Back in the arena, Mysterio said congratulations to Vikingo for beating up a kid. He then said they could just have their match now and Omos stepped in between them. Mystero backed into the corner, but who should come to his rescue? El Grande Americano! The green one!

Americano hit Omos with a chair, but it didn’t even phase the giant. Mysterio slipped out of the ring and started walking up the ramp with Americano when OG Americano arrived to take out Americano Green. Mysterio didn’t do anything to help him and the show ended.
