AAA notes: Rey de Reyes final qualifier, Reina de Reinas title open challenge

Notes from Saturday’s AAA television show that aired after WWE NXT Vengeance Day 2026.

This week’s March 7 episode of AAA on Fox marked the go-home show for next week’s Rey de Reyes in Puebla, Mexico. The episode was taped last week at the Showcenter Complex in Monterrey, Mexico.

Tonight’s episode began with a recap of last week’s heated feud between the two El Grande Americanos. Following this, in the first match of the night, El Hijo del Vikingo defeated Dinámico. El Hijo del Vikingo is scheduled to face Dominik Mysterio for the AAA Mega Championship at Rey de Reyes.

It was followed by AAA Reina de Reinas Champion Lady Flammer appearing on screen and issuing an open challenge for her title, limited not just to the AAA’s women roster, but also to WWE’s female division, at Rey De Reyes.

This was followed by the final qualifying match for the Rey De Reyes tournament, where Santos Escobar defeated Mr. Iguana, Psycho Clown, and Abismo Negro to book his spot in the finals.

In the final match of the night, The “Original” El Grande Americano defeated La Parka after executing the bridging German suplex. In the closing moments of the show, Santos Escobar and Ludwig Kaiser’s Americano came out on the stage. The go-home show for Rey de Reyes closed with all four finalists standing tall to close the episode.

In another update, Rey de Reyes is now scheduled to air in three parts on their weekly shows on Saturday.

AAA on Fox live results: Rey de Reyes go-home show

AAA on Fox tonight is the go-home show for next week’s Rey de Reyes in Puebla, Mexico.

Three matches are scheduled to air on tonight’s show. The episode was taped last week from the Showcenter Complex in Monterrey, Mexico.

Tonight’s episode will feature the final Rey de Reyes qualifying four-way match with Santos Escobar vs. Mr. Iguana vs. Psycho Clown vs. Abismo Negro.

There will also be a singles match between two wrestlers who have already qualified for the Rey de Reyes finals, as La Parka will face The Original El Grande Americano. The Ludwig Kaiser-version of Americano has also qualified for the Rey de Reyes final.

Also set for tonight, El Hijo del Vikingo will be in action as he prepares to challenge Dominik Mysterio for the AAA Mega Championship at Rey de Reyes. Vikingo will face Dinámico on tonight’s show.

Our live coverage of AAA on Fox on Saturday, March 7, 2026, will begin immediately following NXT Vengeance Day.

*******

Fresh off of Vengeance Day, we head to Mexico for the last AAA show before Rey De Reyes! Before we get into the action though, I want to send genuine best wishes to AAA, WCW and WWE Legend Konnan, who’s facing some serious health problems. Que se mejore, señor!

The show started with a recap of last week’s business with the duelling Grande Americanos that led to Greende Americano qualifying for Rey De Reyes next week.

Dinámico vs. El Hijo del Vikingo

This match was made last week as a “warm up” match for Vikingo before his match next week with Dominick Mysterio for the AAA Mega Championship.

The match was pretty much all Vikingo. Dinamico was able to hold his own in the first part, but soon Vikingo took over, hitting lots of power moves and a double knee from the top rope.

Vikingo started taking his time, setting Dinamico on the middle rope to kick him in the back of the neck, then hit a double stomp from the top rope. He covered him, but Dinamico kicked out at two.

Dinamico came back with some big kicks that allowed him to hit a cutter on Vikingo. Vikingo rolled to the outside, but Dinamico leapt form the top rope onto him. He threw Vikingo back into the ring and tried a springboard sunset flip, but Vikingo countered it into a spiked slam.

Vikingo started throwing fists and got Dinamico into an electric chair position that he moved into a modified suplex for a two count. Dinamico blocked an arm drag, but Vikingo threw a lariat that knocked him to the mat.

Vikingo picked up Dinamico and threw him into the turnbuckles. He hit a 630 splash and made the pin, picking up the victory on his way to Rey De Reyes.

Match Result: El Hijo del Vikingo defeated Dinámico

-Suddenly, AAA Mega Champion Dominick Mysterio appeared on the screen. He congratulated Vikingo on his victory tonight, but he will show him what it means to be a real champion at Rey De Reyes. As the segment ended, Vikingo looked a little worried.

-AAA Women’s Champion Flammer appeared on screen next, issuing an open challenge for her title to not the women of AAA, but the women of WWE at Rey De Reyes.

Rey de Reyes Tournament Qualifying Match: Mr. Iguana vs. Santos Escobar vs. Psycho Clown vs. Abismo Negro

Off of the bell, Iguana and Escobar let Psycho and Negro take each other own. Negro turned his attention to Iguana, until Psycho clown took him out. Clown hit a hurricanrana, and Iguana came back with a dive over the ropes to take out Escobar.

Iguana and Clown faced off in the ring, but Escobar put a stop to it, sending Iguana out of the ring. Escobar went for a cover, but Negro broke it up and the two slugged it out in the middle of the ring. Negro sent Escobar to the floor with a clothesline and Iguana took him out with an Iguanarana.

Iguana grabbed his puppet and Clown gave her a gentle pat. He then dragged Iguana to the corner where ht leapt off the ring post onto Negro on the outside. Clown followed with a leap of his own.

Clown and Iguana got back in the ring and Iguana hit an insiguri. He went for a diving headbutt, but Clown caught him and deposited him in the corner. Iguana jumped, but Clown caught him in a powerslam. Negro broke up the subsequent pin.

Negro hit a gutbuster on Clown, but couldn’t get a three count. Negro went for a piledriver, but El Fiscal showed up and jumped in the ring to fight Negro. He clotheslined him over the ropes and they fought to the barricades and up into the crowd.

With the 4-way now a 3-way, Escobar hit a meteora on Clown in the corner. Clown came back with a superkick and then a Psycho Driver. He dropped the straps and went up to the top turnbuckle. Suddenly, The War Raiders (#1 Contenders to Clown and Pagano’s tag titles) showed up and pulled him off the ropes.

They laid a beating into him until Clown’s partner Pagano arrived with a Kendo stick and drive them off. Iguana took advantage of the chaos and hit a hurricanrana on Escobar. Escobar raked the eyes of Iguana and dropped him with a Hands of Destiny. Escobar pinned Iguana and solidified his spot in the Rey De Reyes finals!

Match Result: Santos Escobar defeated Mr. Iguana, Psycho Clown and Abismo Negro

-After the match, Psycho Clown and Pagano walked to the back, but noticed that Murder Clown was missing! First Dave, then Panic Clown, now Murder Clown! Something is up! The sound of someone in the next room was heard, and they kicked in the door, only to find Murder Clown! Dropping a deuce! Whew. And Ew.

La Parka vs. The “Original” El Grande Americano

So, just to remind everyone, to keep things straight, I refer to the “Original” El Grande Americano as “OG” and the other El Grande Americano as ‘Greende Americano.’ Not that it’s likely that will come up in this match or anything.

La Parka is crazy popular and I am so happy to be able to say that. He got a huge ovation as he entered the match.

They locked up off the top, with OG sending La Parka into the corner. He went for a chop, but La Parka danced out of it. They locked up again with la Parka landing a shoulder tackle. OG took La Parka to the mat and they rolled through some pinning combinations.

La Parka started pulling OG around with arm drags, leading to a reset. OG rolled out of the ring, giving La Parka some room to dance. The crowd HATED OG and screamed at him over the barricade. OG got back into the ring and sent La Parka to the corner, chopping and stomping him.

La Parka found himself in an ankle lock in the middle of the ring, but managed to counter it into a pin attempt. La Parka scooped up OG for a backbreaker and sent him to the outside. OG got back in, but fell victim to an insiguri off the apron. He dodged La Parka jumping at him and then dropped La Parka on a table in a shinbreaker.

OG threw La Parka into the ring steps then back into the ring ring. He hit a dragon screw takedown and wrapped La Parka’s leg around the ring post, smashing his knee. OG dragged La Parka to the middle of the ring and continued working the knee.

OG grapevined La Parka’s leg, bending it horribly. La Parka managed a sunset flip, but OG still had ahold of things and sent him to the corner. He tried a chop, but La Parka dodged. He came back with another Dragon screw take down though.

La Parka went to the outside to regroup, but his attempt to jump back in turned into a northern lights suplex instead. OG started messing with La Parka’s mask, but the Ref put a stop to it. OG went for a suplex, but La Parka countered it and whipped him into the corner.

They two traded blows until La Parka hit a drop kick and facebuster. He hit a second one, but clearly La Parka’s knee was not at 100%. He tried a bridge suplex, but OG kicked out at two.

OG slid over into a backslide, but La Parka kicked out at two. OG hit a liger kick and then a fisherman brainbuster, but La Parka just wouldn’t give in. OG went up to the top turnbuckle, but La Parka joined him and nailed a Spanish Fly. He went for the cover, but OG kicked out.

The two exchanged rolling pin attempts until OG got the ankle lock on. La Parka kicked out and went for a bone breaker, but OG turned his mask backwards and hit a bridging German suplex to pick up the victory.

Match Result: The “Original” El Grande Americano defeated La Parka

After the match, Santos Escobar came out, as did Greende Americano and that meant all four competitors in the Rey de Reyes finals were on the stage. Rey de Reyes starts next week! Be there, or be, well, somewhere else. I’m not a cop.

Report: Konnan hospitalized, leg amputated following medical complications

Unconfirmed reports regarding the health of Konnan are currently circulating online.

On Friday, Mexican sports outlet RECORD reported that Konnan was hospitalized in San Diego and had one of his legs amputated following medical complications. RECORD cited its columnist @elplanchitas for the news.

Other outlets have since reported the news citing RECORD’s report. However, the information has not been independently confirmed and no official statement has been issued.

RECORD Mexico wrote:

“Based on information from @elplanchitas, RÉCORD can confirm that the Cuban wrestler, Carlos Santiago Espada, better known as ‘Konnan’, has just undergone the amputation of his leg. Carlos is in delicate health in the United States. Much strength, Konnan!”

@elplanchitas wrote:

“I can confirm that Carlos Santiago Espada (62 years old) had a leg amputated. For some time now, the Triple A star has been dealing with health problems that have left him in a delicate state in San Diego, United States.”

Konnan has dealt with a number of health issues in recent years. He has struggled with kidney problems dating back to the mid-2000s and underwent a kidney transplant in 2007. In late 2022, it was revealed that Konnan was on dialysis due to kidney problems and had been dealing with health issues dating back to a severe bout of COVID-19 in February 2021. He also underwent heart surgery in January 2022. Konnan noted in December 2022 that he had found a donor for another kidney transplant surgery. However, it is not clear whether that surgery ever took place.

WWE working to secure U.S. visas, full-time deals for more AAA wrestlers

An update is available regarding WWE signing more AAA talent.

In Friday’s edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer wrote that while El Hijo del Vikingo is currently the only AAA wrestler under a full-time WWE deal, the company is working on obtaining U.S. visas and signing “everyone who is featured on TV to any real degree.”

Meltzer wrote:

“Currently the only AAA wrestler signed to a full-time WWE deal from Mexico is El Hijo del Vikingo, but they are now working on getting tons more signed and U.S. working visas for them. Basically everyone who is featured on TV to any real degree they are looking at signing.”

AAA returns to Fox in Latin America on Saturday, March 7 with the go-home show for Rey de Reyes, which takes place March 14 in Puebla, Mexico. The final Rey de Reyes qualifier will air on the show, with Mr. Iguana vs. Santos Escobar vs. Psycho Clown vs. Abismo Negro. Also scheduled for the episode are La Parka vs. the Original El Grande Americano and El Hijo del Vikingo vs. Dinamico.

AAA notes: Rey de Reyes qualifiers, new number one contender for Cruiserweight title

Notes from Saturday’s AAA television show that aired immediately after WWE Elimination Chamber 2026.

The February 28 AAA show began with Ludwig Kaiser’s El Grande Americano challenging the original El Grande Americano to prove his authenticity by speaking Spanish. Taking shots at his limited Spanish vocabulary and recent AI vignettes, Kaiser’s Americano sent Pimpinela Escarlata to speak with the original Americano.

However, things soon turned haywire when the original Americano attacked Escarlata, injuring the wrestler. Escarlata was previously scheduled to be in the Rey de Reyes qualifier match with Omos, Ethan Page, and El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. However, after the injury angle, Escarlata was replaced by Kaiser’s Grande Americano in the match.

The episode also featured an AAA World Cruiserweight Championship No 1 contender’s match between Dragon Lee and Jack Cartwheel. Following a heavily praised match, Lee stood tall and became the No 1 contender for the Cruiserweight title. However, he was soon interrupted by TJP before an all-out brawl broke out amongst Laredo Kid, TJP, Lee, and Cartwheel. The segment finished with Cartwheel standing tall with the title.

In the main-event of the show, Omos, Ethan Page, El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr., and El Grande Americano II faced off for a chance to qualify in the Rey de Reyes tournament final. In the closing moments of the match, fans saw interuptions from Rayo and Bravo Americano handcuffing Omos to the ring post, Santos Escobar interupting Dr. Wagner Jr., La Parka arriving and hitting the original Americano with chairshots, before Kaiser’s Americano hit Page with the running headbutt and secured himself a spot in the finals.

He will now join Original Grande Americano and La Parka in the four-way match at Rey de Reyes, with four other men competing for the final spot next week.

AAA on Fox lineup | March 7, 2026

Lucha Libre AAA is set to host its  Rey de Reyes show on March 14th. However, with one spot remaining, Santos Escobar will be going against Mr. Iguana, Psycho Clown, and Abismo Negro to qualify for the final position on the upcoming March 7, 2026, episode of AAA on Fox.

  • Santos Escobar vs. Mr. Iguana vs. Psycho Clown vs. Abismo Negro for the last remaining spot in the Rey de Reyes tournament final.

AAA on Fox live results: Rey de Reyes qualifying matches continue

AAA is live tonight from the Showcenter Complex in Monterrey, Mexico.

Two matches and one segment are advertised for the show, which will stream immediately after WWE Elimination Chamber on FOX in Latin America and on YouTube and Facebook elsewhere.

In a AAA World Cruiserweight Championship number one contender’s match, Dragon Lee will face Jack Cartwheel. The winner of the match earns a title shot against Laredo Kid.

There will also be a Rey de Reyes four-way qualifying match featuring El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. vs. Pimpinela Escarlata vs. Omos vs. Ethan Page. El Grande Americano and La Parka have already qualified for the Rey de Reyes four-way bout, which takes place March 14 in Puebla, Mexico. The winner earns a shot at the AAA Mega Championship.

A segment is also advertised with El Grande Americano promising to expose the original El Grande Americano.

Our live coverage begins immediately following WWE Elimination Chamber.

*************

All right my friends, unless someone in a black track suit shows up, we are (finally) off and running with AAA!

El Greende Americano (I can’t believe it took me so long to think of that) was shown as one of the many wrestlers arriving to work in a traditional opening segment after a quick recap of last week’s Vikingo/Mysterio contract signing. It went fine.

The show began proper and el Greende Americano came to the ring. He grabbed a mic and the crowd sang and chanted for him a lot. He said it was great to be back home and told the crowd they needed to talk about that “fraud,” referring to the OG Americano. Greende accused OG of having to use AI in his video last week because he doesn’t know how to speak Spanish.

Greende then threw to roving reporter Pimpinela Escarlata. Escarlata went to OG’s dressing room and spoke to OG. He used rudimentary spanish like “bueno” and Escarlata accused him of not knowing any Spanish and then beat up Escarlata until security had to pull him off. Then it cut to commercial ending a very, very strange segment.

More technical difficulties from Mexico had us come back to some audio over a black screen, then a quick recap of last week’s Crusierwieght title match between TJ Perkins and the champion, the Laredo Kid. Spoiler, Kid won. So that means we need a new #1 Contender!

AAA World Cruiserweight Championship No 1. Contender’s Match: Dragon Lee vs. Jack Cartwheel

You might remember Dragon Lee from hanging out with AJ Styles. You might remember Jack Cartwheel from the cartwheeling.

The match kicked off with a handshake and a tie up. Lee sent Cartwheel to the corner but he was able to flip out and they traded wristlocks. Cartheel came off the ropes with the flippin’ and the floppin’ and took Lee down with a headscissor.

They ran through some chain moves and Lee went for a Ligerbomb, but Cartwheel got out of it and Lee took a moment on the outside. That let Cartwheel fly over the top rope onto him and throw him back in the ring.

Cartwheel went to do a spin through the ropes (kind of a reverse 619 or 916 as it were) and Lee kicked him right in the face. Cartwheel crumpled and Lee brought him back in for a two count. Lee got to his feet and threw some punches.

He charged Cartwheel who countered with a spanish fly, but could only get a two count. Lee came back with a high knee and they traded superkicks. Cartwheel hit a suplex and then a stunner, but Lee got him with a sit out Liger bomb and somehow Catwheel kicked out.

Cartwheel hit a superkick and poisonrana before going up top for an incredible springboard twisting phoenix splash, but Lee kicked out at 2.8.

Cartwheel went back up but Lee caught him off the jump and hit a Styles Clash, but not even that could put Cartwheel down for three. Lee went up top, but Cartwheel cut him off with a flipping kick, hanging him up on the turnbuckle.

They fought to the top rope and Cartwheel went for a hurricanrana from the top, but Lee countered it with a doublestomp to the heart a dropkick into the turnbuckle. He hit Operation Dragon and that was it. Lee wins and becomes #1 Contender for Laredo Kid’s Cruiserweight Title.

Match Result: Dragon Lee defeated Jack Cartwheel

After the match, Lee grabbed a mic and thanked the crowd. Suddenly, TJ Perkins arrived in his questionable jacket and said that Laredo Kid cheated in their match, implying that he’s the real #1 Contender. Lee invited him to step into the ring about it and then Laredo Kid came down and all three brawled, until Cartwheel got back up and cleared the ring of all three. Perhaps they will solve this in a four-way match, fatally.

-Backstage a man who was absolutely a real doctor said something really fast in Spanish about the status of Pimpinela Escarlata, who was beaten up by OG Grande Americano. Unfortunately, there was no translation or caption, but hopefully after the commercial break things will be clearer.

-Back from said break, Vikingo, Omos and Dorian were shown standing on a balcony. Vikingo said that Omos will win his match tonight and Rey de Reyes, and Vikingo will win the AAA Mega Championship from Dominick Mysterio. BUT, that means they will have to face each other!

Dorion said not to worry, he has had a plan for a long time and it’s going swimmingly. Next week, Vikingo will have a warm up match, Omos will win tonight and everything is going according to the plan that Dorion has been laying out.

-Back stage, we got our update as Greende Americano was shown assisting EMT’s putting Pimpinela Escarlata into an ambulance. Pimpinela begged Greende to take their place in the match and win it. Greende agreed and then:

Rey de Reyes Fatal 4-Way Qualifying Match: El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. vs. Pimpinela Escarlata vs. Omos vs. Ethan Page

Became:

Rey de Reyes Fatal 4-Way Qualifying Match: El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. vs. El Grande Americano (Green) vs. Omos vs. Ethan Page

Now that was a journey! Honestly, kudos to AAA for telling more story in one hour-long episode than other promotions do in a 3-hour event. It’s really fun to watch.

A few weeks ago, the OG Americano took out Greende Americano in what was to be his Rey de Reyes qualifying match. OG took his place and won. Now Greende has replaced someone in another qualifier and has a chance to face off with OG at Rey de Reys. Ain’t wresting grande? er, grand?

Anyway, the match started and Page immediatly bailed from the ring. Omos took over, taking out Americano and Wagner. Page came back in and tried to make friends with Omos, even laying a performatory beat down on Wagner and Americano. Omos didn’t buy it though and flattened him with a big boot.

Wagner and Americano tried to suplex Omos, but Omos shrugged them off and dropped Americano onto Wagner. The crowd for this was very happy and very LOUD, by the way.

Americano tried to go at Omos solo, but that didn’t work. Omos threw some massive elbows and side slammed him before turning his attention to Wagner. He dropped him snake eyes on the turnbuckle then sent him flying with a big boot.

Omos went for a cover, but Page broke it up. Omos grabbed him by the throat, allowing Americano to jump on his back to try a sleeper. Wagner tried a front headlock and Omos stayed on his feet, holding them up. Page charged and Omos kicked him down WHILE STILL HOLDING THE OTHER TWO IN THE AIR!

“This looks like a child playing with action figures!” – Corey Graves

Omos stepped out of the ring to throw page over an announce table and Grande treid to dive on him, but Omos caught him in mid air and dropped him. Page tried to take out Omos’ eyes, and Wagner hit a suicida, staggering Omos for the first time.

Omos slumped over the steps, and Page and Americano jumped back into the ring to try and get a pin on each other. Americano tried to walk the ropes but Page pulled him into a tree of woe for some stomps. Page hit a powerslam and went for a pin, but Wagner came crashing down with a frog splash and broke it up. He tried a cover on Page, but only got two.

Wagner blasted Page with an exposed elbow, but Page fought back with a superkick. He started messing with Wagner’s mask, but Americano returned and dropkicked him. Americano hit a clothesline from the top rope and Omos rose like the Ghost of Christmas Past and got back in the ring.

Americano threw everything he had at him and Omos was not at 100%. Americano tried to dump him over the ropes, but needed Wagner’s help to do it. Omos crumbled, taking them out with him. Omos went to punch Americano, but he ducked and Omos hit his arm on the ringpost.

Wagner and Americano got back in the ring and started throwing hands. Americano got a rolling senton on Wagner, but Page returned and threw Americano out of the ring, tying to steal one. Wanger kicked out though and hit a Wagner driver on Page, but Santos Escobar showed up and pulled Wagner out to brawl. Look for them to have a match later, as they fought up the ramp and into the back.

In the ring, Page and Americano fought on the apron with Americano getting the upper hand until Omos grabbed them both by the throat. Suddenly, Rayo and Bravo Americano showed up and long sotry short, they handcuffed Omos to the ring post!

That gave Greende Americano a chance to load up his mask charge Page. Page booted him, but Americano countered with a surfboard! Page tapped, but in the melee the ref had gotten knocked out!.

Suddenly, OG Americano arrived to taunt Greende. Rayo and Bravo attacked, but OG fought them off. IN the ring, Page grabbed Greende and hit a powerbomb. The ref came to and counted 1-2-NO! Greende kicked out!

Then La Parka showed up and took out OG, giving Greende a chance to nail Page with the loaded headbutt and pin him to get the victory and qualify for Rey de Reyes!

Match Result: El Grande Americano (Green) defeated El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr., Omos and Ethan Page

To close things out, I’d just like to say THAT WAS AWESOME! (clap-clap clap-clap-clap)

— Garrett and I will be back this afternoon covering the news of the week, and there is a ton of it. Quite frankly big picture wise with the Paramount/WBD deal looking likely, this has more effect on pro wrestling than almost anything and pro wrestling is a sliver of a percentage of its importance overall. We’ll also be talking about a major wrestling weekend.

— Oleksandr Usyk vs. Rico Verhoeven for the WBC world heavyweight boxing title was announced for 5/23 in Giza, Egypt, as a DAZN PPV show. Verhoeven was the dominant heavyweight in kickboxing for more than a decade, but kickboxing and boxing are entirely different sports and skill sets. Boxing is now all about celebrity fights and freak show fights, and now we’ve got Verhoeven being sanctioned for a world heavyweight boxing title fight with a 1-0 record as a boxer.

— ESPN aired a special today with the ratings for the wrestlers in the 2K26 video game, with Joe Tessitore, Big E, Kevin Owens, Paul Levesque, Logan Paul, Joe Hendry, Chelsea Green and Paul Heyman.

— Many of the people involved in Mile High Madness on Wednesday noted that it was one of the most fun matches of their careers.

— A correction from today’s issue. In the story about Stand & Deliver moving, we noted reasons why it wasn’t moved to San Jose due to other wrestling shows that night. One of the shows mentioned was an AAA show in the U.S. the night it could have been in San Jose, and AAA does have a show on 4/11, but the show will be in Mexico City, not the U.S.

— There is a big show at Arena Mexico tonight with the top four matches being Angel de Oro vs. Johnny Consejo in a hair vs. hair match, Claudio Castagnoli defends the CMLL heavyweight title against Euforia and Akuma, Olympia vs. Persephone with the winner facing Mercedes Mone for the CMLL women’s title on 3/6 and a three-way in the finals of the Torneo de Escuelas with Pantera Jr. & Psycotic vs. Estudiante Jr. & Feroz vs. Rey Pegasus & Tornado.

— The loser of the hair match will wrestle bald on Saturday at Arena Coliseo which has Angel de Oro vs. Johnny Consejo vs. Esfinge in a three-way main event. Templario and Averno return to Mexico from Japan on Sunday at Arena Mexico with an Averno & Euforia & Volador Jr. vs. Templario & Neon & Esfinge main event.

— Fantastica Mania’s final show was today at Korakuen Hall.

Averno b Shoma Kato
El Hijo de Stuka Jr. & Yoshinobu Kanemaru & Sho & Yujiro Takahashi b Masatora Yasuda & Master Wato & Tatsuya Matsumoto & Stigma
Tiger Mask b Magnus
Atlantis & Atlantis Jr. & Ryusuke Taguchi b Hechicero & Okumura & Satoshi Kojima
Mascara Dorada & Futuro & Valiente Jr. b Daiki Nagai & Hatsuratsu Guerrero (Shingo Takagi) & Titan
Templario b Ultimo Guerrero
Mistico b Soberano Jr. to retain the CMLL light heavyweight title.

— The AAA YouTube show will be airing an hour later than usual, at 10 p.m. Eastern, so it doesn’t go head-to-head with Elimination Chamber. Announced are Dragon Lee vs. Jack Cartwheel and a Rey de Reyes qualifying match with Ethan Page vs. Omos vs. El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. vs. Pimpinela Escarlata.

— Don King has joined the Frank Warren lawsuit against Sila and Ring Magazine.

— SmackDown is from Louisville, KY tonight. All of the 12 wrestlers in the two Chamber matches are on the show. Rhea Ripley & Iyo Sky vs. Nia Jax & Lash Legend for the tag team titles plus Uncle Howdy vs. Solo Sikoa, Miz vs. Oba Femi and Jordynne Grace vs. Candice LeRae. There were 9,800 tickets out for the show as of earlier today.

— We’re looking for reports from Sunday afternoon’s ROH TV tapings in Jacksonville with results, finishes and highlights to [email protected].

— New Japan has a PPV show on New Japan World and Triller from Trenton, NJ at 8 p.m. Eastern.

Yota Tsuji vs. Andrade for the Global title
Syuri vs. Athena for the IWGP women’s title
Tomohiro Ishii vs. Oleg Boltin for the New Japan Strong title
El Phantasma vs. Konosuke Takeshita for the NJPW TV title
Kushida & El Desperado vs. Jordan Oliver & Alec Price

— Kyle Snyder will face Akmed Tazhudniov, another gold medalist, for the RAF light heavyweight title at 215 pounds. The match takes place on 3/28 in Tampa.

— Gzim Selmani, the former Rezar of Authors of Pain, now under contract to Bare Knuckle Fighting, did an interview with Casinostugan saying that he wants to fight Eddie Hall, The Mountain Thor, Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley. He said he was cut by WWE due to a backstage incident which he said he would take responsibility for but didn’t elaborate. He’d like to do an AOP vs. Lashley & Lesnar (no chance of that happening) or Jake & Logan Paul (no chance of that either) tag team match. He said Paul Levesque is more calculated and a better boss than Vince McMahon. He said Conor McGregor would be perfect for WWE. I mean, if you’re looking to add more accused rapists he would, but that shouldn’t be the goal. He said John Cena would be great for BKFC, except that he can’t fight. He said CM Punk should have never done UFC. He also said McGregor and McMahon are very similar. I’ll say.

— Toshiyo Yamada, who was in some of the greatest pro wrestling matches of all-time (Toyota & Yamada vs. Kansai & Ozaki I & II, as well as other tags and singles with Toyota), turned 56 today. Earl Caddock, an early world champion, was born on this day in 1888. His 1920 match with Joe Stecher set a Madison Square Garden gate record that wasn’t broken until the days of Bruno Sammartino. George Zaharias, a notable star in the 30s, was born on this day in 1908. Zaharias was best known for being the husband of Babe Didrikson-Zaharias, the greatest American woman athlete prior to Jackie Joyner-Kersee. Eddie Creachman, the Palestinian brain and manager of The Sheik, was born on this day 98 years ago. Billy Robinson, a Hall of Famer and one of the greatest pure wrestlers of the last 60 years, died on this day 12 years ago at the age of 75.

Rey de Reyes qualifier part of next week’s AAA on Fox lineup

A Rey de Reyes qualifying match is set for next week’s AAA on Fox.

It was announced that Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr.. will face Omos, Ethan Page, and Piminela Escarlata in a four-way qualifying match on next week’s show. The winner will advance to the finals at Rey de Reyes where they will meet La Parka and the Original El Grande Americano, who have already qualified.

Wagner has been embroiled in a feud with Santos Escobar in recent weeks. After Wagner picked up a victory on Saturday, Santos Escobar appeared on screen and said he would face Wagner in his own time and wasn’t in Mexico. That was later revealed to be a ruse when Escobar jumped Wagner in the parking lot.

Another match set for next week is Dragon Lee facing Jack Cartwheel. Lee was last seen on AAA television losing a Rey de Reyes qualifier, with El Grande Americano earning the victory over Lee, Octagon Jr., and Rey Fenix.

AAA on Fox (February 28)

**********

It’s another night of Luchadore action from Mexico featuring the most unpredictable and dreaded confrontation in professional wrestling: The Contract Signing.

I’m going to go right out onto this limb and predict that it doesn’t go as planned.

Footage of Dominick Mysterio arriving to work was shown, along with footage of Vikingo and Omos just chilling in the parking lot.

AAA Latin American Championship Match: El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. (c) vs. Belcegor

Wagner came to the ring and grabbed a mic. He addressed the crowd and Rey Mysterio translated for us rubes. Wagner said that he would take on anyone, but he knows who wants his title. He said that he wanted to defend his title against the “Wagnermaniacs” and he called out anyone from the back. The challenge was answered by Belcegor.

Belcegor sent Wagner into the corner off the top and hit him with a dropkick. He sent Wagner to the mat with a lariat. He then laid him out across the ropes for a neckbreaker, keeping control of the match. Belcegor laid in a few kicks and that seemed to wake up Wagner.

Wagner came off the ropes with a head butt and then chopped Belcegor to the mat. He sent him tot he corner and landed a step up knee and a death valley driver, but only a two count. Wagner lifted Belcegor up on his shoulders for a drop down powerbomb and that was it. Wagner gets the victory.

Match Result: El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. defeated Belcegor

After the match Wagner got back on the mic and called out Santos Esobar. Escobar appeared on the videotron, reminding Wagner that he wasn’t in Mexico tonight. He said that their match will happen on his terms.

AAA Cruiserweight Championship Match: Laredo Kid (c) vs. T.J. Perkins

Laredo has held the Crusierweight title for over 400 days at this point and TJP has been wearing short pants for all of them (I presume).

The match started with TJP going for a wristlock, trying to get the technical advantage. They flipped around and traded wristlocks untl Laredo got TJP in a head scissor. TJP worked himself out of it and the two took a second to reset.

TJP sent Laredo off the ropes who came back with a headscissor takedown. They moved tot he outside where TJP bonked Laredo off the announce table. They climbed to the apron and Laredo laid TJP out with a big punch, but TJP came back with a dropkick.

TJP worked Laredo over in the corner, including a running boot to the face. TJP hit a backbreaker for a two count and then put on a headlock. He then started messing with Laredo’s mask before sending him to the corner. When he charged, Laredo moved and hit a missile dropkick.

TJP went to the outside, but Laredo followed with a dive. Laredo set him up in the corner for a big forearm and then put him on the top turnbuckle. TJP knocked him off the turnbuckle, but Laredo moved to avoid the splash.

Perkins tried to steal one with a handfull of tights, but the Ref saw it and called it off. Laredo then rolled up TJP and the ref counted three, but TJP had his hand on the ropes! The ref didn’t see it though and Laredo was declared the winner.

Match Result: Laredo Kid defeated T.J. Perkins

After the match, TJP dropkicked Laredo to the outside and then sent him into the steel steps. He laid Laredo out on them and punched him repeatedly. The ref tried to stop it, but TJP grabbed the title belt and smashed Laredo in the face with it. He then set up Laredo and stomped his head onto the steps again.

El Fiscal vs. Abismo Negro

This is a grudge match with a capital grudge as El Fiscal and Negro have included lots and lots of fire in their matches so far.

The two started brawling right off the top with Fiscal being sent to the outside. Fiscal was pulled down by Negro via ankle and Negro sent him flying into the stairs. Fiscal crawled around the side of the ring but negro was waiting for him and thew punches across the barricade, and laid a few into his gut just for good measure.

Fiscal countered though and sent Negro into the opposite steps smashing his shoulder against them. Fiscal then started clearing off the announce table, which is we all know from watching professional wrestling means that he’s setting up a nice dinner.

In reality though, Fiscal grabbed Negro by the noggin punched him a bunch of times, setting him up for a table spot. The ref finally got involved and tried to stop Fiscal who threw him into the side of the ring apron. By doing so, Fiscal actually got himself disqualified and the bell rang ending the match.

Match Result: Abismo Negro defeated El Fiscal via DQ

They weren’t done though as Negra was still laid out over the announce table. Security came down to the ring and if you’ve ever watched professional wrestling you know there is no more inept group in the world than WWE sponsored Security Forces.

They failed to stop Fiscal getting up on the table but they did stop him when he tried to pile drive Negro through it. After being pulled off the table, Negro came back to life and swept Fiscal’s ankle leaving him lying on said table.

Security tried to take Negro to the back and Fiscal got back in the ring, only to dive over the top rope to take out the security guards holding Negro back. Negro started punching Fiscal and the two brawled all the way up the ramp while roughly 17 security guards could do absolutely nothing to pull these two apart. Fiscal started punching Negro up against the ring apron and finally enough security arrived to break them apart.

But, no! Fiscal and Negro started brawling a third time but security managed to separate them. Fiscal went back into the ring and dropped his straps which is wrestling code for “I’m getting real serious now.”

Security took Negro to the back but Fiscal remained in the ring calling for him to come down to fight, while some more security knelt at the side of the ring begging Fiscal not to do anything rash. Fiscal took that opportunity to pose for a minute.

-Backstage El Hijo de Dr Wagner Jr was interviewed on his way out of the arena but before he could say too much, he was attacked from behind by Santos Escobar who was in fact, in Mexico, despite what he’d had us believe earlier.

-Next up was the dreaded contract signing, the most dangerous segment in all of professional wrestling between AAA Mega Champion Dominic Mysterio and El Hijo de Vikingo. They’re set to face each other at Rey de Reyes but first, the paperwork.

Desks and chairs were set up in the ring as both wrestlers made their way down, Mysterio getting the much bigger pop but the Vikingoo having the much bigger friend in Omos.

Dominic said he’d be Mega Champion for a very long time. He said that he’s going to hold the Mega Championship so long that no one will be able to think of anyone but him when they look at it. Mysterio called Vikingo a “cockroach that wouldn’t die” and promised that when he beats him, he’ll never get another shot as long as Mysterio is champion.

Vikingo said that he only needs one opportunity to humiliate Mysterio and he’s going to do it. When he wins the Mega Championship, Mysterio must leave Mexico and AAA forever, which I really don’t think he has the authority to do, but it sounds good. He then said that their match would be No DQ.

Mysterio signed his side of the paper and Vikingo celebrated, calling him an idiot. Vikingo said that he’s going to enjoy beating Mysterio and will show him what’s going to happen to him at Rey de Reyes.

The scene switched to a hospital where Dr. Vikingo entered the room of the wrestler formerly known as Mini Vikingo, who was laid up in a neck brace after a beating from Omos. Vikingo started beating him up (the hospital must employ the same security guards) and Vikingo threw him out of the bed and said that Mysterio would take his spot at Rey De Reyes.

Back in the arena, Mysterio said congratulations to Vikingo for beating up a kid. He then said they could just have their match now and Omos stepped in between them. Mystero backed into the corner, but who should come to his rescue? El Grande Americano! The green one!

Americano hit Omos with a chair, but it didn’t even phase the giant. Mysterio slipped out of the ring and started walking up the ramp with Americano when OG Americano arrived to take out Americano Green. Mysterio didn’t do anything to help him and the show ended.

World Cruiserweight title match set for AAA on Fox

Laredo Kid is all set to defend his World Cruiserweight title on the upcoming AAA on Fox episode.

Earlier, T.J. Perkins defeated Mini Vikingo, Elio LeFleur, and Chris Carter in a number-one contender’s match on the January 31, 2026, episode of AAA on Fox.

He will now face Kid on the February 21st, 2026 episode of Lucha Libre AAA, which is set to air on Fox at 8 PM in Mexico and all across Central America.

Perkins is himself a former WWE Cruiserweight Champion and has been competing in CMLL and NJPW through 2025.

AAA on Fox lineup | February 21, 2026

The upcoming February 21st episode of AAA on Fox was already taped on February 7th, 2026.

  • El Hijo del Vikingo-Dominik Mysterio Rey de Reyes contract signing
  • Abismo Negro vs. El Fiscal
  • Laredo Kid (c) vs. T.J Perkins for the AAA World Cruiserweight title

Rey Mysterio interested in helping WWE grow Lucha Libre AAA

Rey Mysterio is still enjoying competing in the ring, but a behind-the-scenes position in Lucha Libre AAA could potentially interest him down the line.

The 51-year-old Mysterio addressed his future goals while appearing on a new edition of Cody Rhodes’ “What Do You Wanna Talk About?” podcast. Mysterio always thought the WWE Hall of Fame would be his final accomplishment. But now that he’s achieved that while still being an active wrestler, Mysterio just wants to keep enjoying himself in the ring and working with his son Dominik until it’s eventually time to step away.

“I mean, not really,” Mysterio responded when asked if he knows what his next goal is. “I pretty much have seen more than I could imagine with the growth of Dom and his evolution here in the sport, and how he’s grown, and how he’s become his individual self, and the place that he’s carrying and taking the name to, which I always deep down inside thought that he would be bigger and better than me in a different way.

“And I guess this is the way, which is also funny because my wife said that if he ever wrestled, that she always saw him as a bad guy. And here is the bad guy that my wife obviously spent way more time with him than I did. I was always on the road, so I guess she saw a side of him that I am now seeing. Obviously, I didn’t know.”

Now that AAA is under the WWE umbrella, Mysterio thinks it would be fun to help that promotion grow. He’ll always be grateful for how AAA helped launch his career.

“But overall, I think it might be fun to help with the acquisition with AAA and be involved as much as I can with that,” Mysterio said. “And kind of start learning on how to work on the production side or how I can invest my time to eventually help AAA grow. Knowing that that was my house, my very first house or my home from day one. And from there, it all started. Everything flourished from AAA. But I’m still enjoying the moment.”

Dominik is the current Mega Champion in AAA and also holds the Intercontinental title in WWE. He and his father faced off in a tag match in December 2025 at AAA Guerra de Titanes.

El Fiscal vs. Abismo Negro added to next week’s AAA on Fox lineup

A new match is set for next week’s AAA on Fox.

Abismo Negro and El Fiscal, the son of the original Abismo Negro, will square off in a continuation of their feud. A video package showcased their history as part of The Vipers stable and Abismo’s eventual turn against Fiscal after using a blowtorch to singe his face. The video showcased their previous battles, which included the usage of fire and wrestling in a chain match. Fiscal has accused Abismo of tarnishing his father’s legacy and name.

Already set for next week is a contract signing between El Hijo del Vikingo and Dominik Mysterio ahead of their match at Rey de Reyes on March 14. When Vikingo challenged Dominik on last week’s show, he dared the AAA Mega Champion to put his hair on the line as well.

The lineup for next week’s AAA on Fox:

AAA on Fox (February 21)

  • El Hijo del Vikingo-Dominik Mysterio Rey de Reyes contract signing
  • Abismo Negro vs. El Fiscal

WWE’s Chelsea Green shares photo of ankle injury

WWE wrestler Chelsea Green missed her scheduled match for AAA on Saturday after suffering an ankle injury on SmackDown the night before. And based on the photo she shared on social media today, she could be missing more matches in the future.

Green’s photo, shared on X/Twitter, showed a badly swollen and discolored ankle. She blamed the injury on “WWE management” and shared a list of demands for this week’s episode of SmackDown.

“Per your negligence on Friday,” she wrote, “I will be sending a list of demands for this upcoming SmackDown.

“List includes but is not limited to:

  • Fiji water
  • wheelchair with a back warmer
  • red M&Ms
  • a small man to push said wheelchair (must be in tuxedo & under 5’4)”

Green suffered her injury in a triple threat match on SmackDown against Tiffany Stratton and Lash Legend. Stratton won the match, qualifying for the Elimination Chamber match in the process.

The next night, Green appeared on AAA television on crutches and told her tag team partner Ethan Page that she would be unable to defend their AAA Mixed Tag Team Championships. Her spot was taken by La Hiedra. Page & Hiedra went on to lose the titles to Mr. Iguana & Lola Vice.
