The Raw women’s division’s newest member is getting a title shot at WrestleMania 37.
WWE has announced that Rhea Ripley will challenge for Asuka’s Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 37. The announcement was made after Ripley debuted as a member of the Raw roster by confronting Asuka tonight and challenging her to a title match at WrestleMania.
Asuka defeated Peyton Royce in a non-title match on Raw tonight but was then confronted by Ripley. Ripley mentioned that Charlotte Flair had declared that she wants to challenge Asuka at WrestleMania, but Ripley said Charlotte isn’t here due to recovering from COVID-19. Ripley then challenged Asuka for WrestleMania. Asuka accepted the challenge and told Ripley that she’s not ready for Asuka.
Charlotte announced tonight that testing positive for COVID-19 is the reason she hasn’t been on WWE television recently. Andrade, who is engaged to Charlotte, tweeted in response to her: “4 more days, and you clear #mami I hope and go back to the wrestlemania poster.”
Ripley, who had her final match for NXT in January, was an entrant in this year’s women’s Royal Rumble match. She made it to the final two before losing to Bianca Belair.
Ripley was also in action at WrestleMania 36 last year, losing the NXT Women’s Championship to Charlotte.
WrestleMania 37 is a two-night event that’s taking place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida on Saturday, April 10 and Sunday, April 11.
Roman Reigns vs. Edge for the Universal Championship, Sasha Banks vs. Belair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship, Bobby Lashley vs. Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship, The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) vs. AJ Styles & Omos for the Raw Tag Team titles, and Bad Bunny vs. The Miz have also been announced for WrestleMania 37. Dave Meltzer has reported that Daniel Bryan will be added to Reigns vs. Edge to make it a triple threat match for the Universal title.
The key main event for WrestleMania is now confirmed to be a three-way with Roman Reigns vs. Edge vs. Daniel Bryan for the Universal title.
Edge’s apparent heel turn after laying both Reigns and Bryan out with chair sets, leading to Reigns’ win at tonight’s WWE Fastlane event appeared to set up a change in the match even though they went off the air on the show pushing Reigns vs. Edge, which has been the announced match since last month’s Elimination Chamber.
It’s since been confirmed that finish was done to set up a three-way that had been rumored for a week and interviews pushing Edge and Bryan as adversaries seemed to indicate them meeting down the line.
With only three weeks until WrestleMania, one would expect the official announcement to come sooner than later. At this point it’s still not clear which matches on the show will air on which nights.
WWE announced today that Hulk Hogan and Titus O’Neil will host WrestleMania 37. The two-night event is taking place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida on Saturday, April 10 and Sunday, April 11.
Hogan is a member of the WWE Hall of Fame, while O’Neil is part of the current roster and is also an ambassador for the company.
Hogan previously hosted WrestleMania 30 in 2014. Other past WrestleMania hosts have included NFL star Rob Gronkowski, Alexa Bliss, The New Day, and The Rock. Gronkowski was the host of WrestleMania 36 last year, with O’Neil taking over for him during night two after Gronkowski won the 24/7 Championship.
O’Neil lives in Tampa and is known for doing charitable work in the community.
Hogan was also the host of 2018’s Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia, with that being Hogan’s first appearance on WWE television since being fired from the company in 2015 when racist language that he had used eight years earlier was made public.
After a pre-sale began yesterday, WrestleMania 37 tickets officially went on sale today. Roman Reigns vs. Edge for the Universal Championship, Sasha Banks vs. Bianca Belair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship, Bobby Lashley vs. Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship, and The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) vs. AJ Styles & Omos for the Raw Tag team titles have been announced for the event.
WrestleMania 37 will air live on Peacock in the United States. It will be live on the WWE Network everywhere else. Here’s WWE’s full announcement about Hogan and O’Neil hosting the show:
WrestleMania is back in business as WWE today announced that WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan and WWE Superstar Titus O’Neil will host the two-night pop culture extravaganza at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay on Saturday, April 10 and Sunday, April 11, 2021.

A larger-than-life icon and a pop culture phenomenon, Hulk Hogan is one of the biggest names in WWE history. On Jan. 23, 1984, ‘Hulkamania’ was officially born when he defeated The Iron Sheik to become WWE Champion at Madison Square Garden. He headlined WrestleMania III, where he successfully defended the WWE Championship against Andre The Giant in front of a record 93,173 fans at the Pontiac Silverdome. Hogan went on to win six WWE Championships, starred in movies, television shows and became an idol to a vast legion of fans he dubbed ‘Hulkamaniacs.’ He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005 by Hollywood legend Sylvester Stallone, and this year will become a two-time Hall of Fame inductee as The nWo, one of sports entertainment’s most notorious factions, is enshrined.
Titus O’Neil is one of the most philanthropic Superstars in WWE history and a former WWE Tag Team and 24/7 Champion. A fixture in the Tampa Bay community and passionate about giving back to families in need, O’Neil founded The Bullard Family Foundation, an organization that provides families and children in need with special moments, programs, and resources to help build character, develop relationships, and strengthen communities around them. In addition, O’Neil is an Ambassador for WWE, helping thousands of individuals through various nonprofits and WWE partners including Susan G. Komen, Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Special Olympics. His passion for community and uplifting others inspired him to write his first book, ‘There’s No Such Thing as a Bad Kid: How I Went from Stereotype to Prototype’ in 2019. O’Neil is a Tampa Bay native and graduated from the University of Florida where he was a standout football player for the Gators.
Don’t miss WrestleMania 37 streaming live as part of a two-night event, beginning at 8 ET/5 PT on April 10 and 11 exclusively on Peacock in the United States and WWE Network everywhere else.
With another COVID breakout in NXT, WWE put tickets on sale on 3/18 for WrestleMania in Tampa at Raymond James Stadium while UFC announced what would be the first attempt to do a sold out full arena show for a sports event in the U.S. on 4/24.
In Florida, there are no regulations whatsoever regarding large gatherings. WWE could, if they felt they could sell the tickets and it was morally responsible, put 60,000 in Raymond James Stadium. AEW could put 5,500 tickets for sale for Dynamite, which they couldn’t sell right now, or for Double or Nothing, which by 5/30, maybe they could, if they wanted to. And by 5/30, if enough of the country is vaccinated, that may not even be irresponsible.
Last week they had told city officials and the hotels in the area that they were looking at 45,000 per show, or 75 percent capacity. Back in January, when the decision was pretty much made to sell tickets to WrestleMania, the idea was 50 percent capacity. Tickets were to go on sale on 3/16, but the night before they announced ticket sales were delayed. The idea is that the way they had set up the building was going to change from the original plans. On 3/18, they put 25,000 seats on sale for each night, or 42 percent capacity (the public claim is 36 percent but that’s of a football capacity, and with the stage cutting out 12,000 seats and the floor adding 7,000, the net loss of capacity is under the 65,000 listed for football).
WWE has announced the new on-sale date for WrestleMania 37 tickets.
Tickets to WrestleMania 37 will now go on sale at 10 a.m. Eastern time this Friday (March 19). WrestleMania 37 is a two-night event that’s taking place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida on Saturday, April 10 and Sunday, April 11.
The Tampa Bay Times reported that the capacity for WrestleMania 37 will be approximately 25,000 fans in attendance each night. “Approximately 25,000 seats will be made available for each night of the April 10-11 event, which has been spread over two nights to allow more fans to attend. In a normal year, Raymond James would be able to hold a maximum of 70,000 fans for WrestleMania, counting floor seating,” the Tampa Bay Times wrote.
“WWE has been working with local partners and government officials regarding safety protocols. Capacity for the event will be right around the same as last month’s Super Bowl, which was held at 38-percent capacity, though that crowd included 7,500 vaccinated health care workers.”
The Tampa Bay Times wrote that the COVID-19 health and safety protocols for WrestleMania 37 “will include seating pods, social distancing, masks required, temperature checks, health screenings, cashless concessions and mobile ticketing. Free masks will be given upon entry, like at the Super Bowl.”
WrestleMania 37 ticket prices range from $35-$2,500. Tickets will be available via Ticketmaster. Two-day combo tickets will also be available.
WrestleMania 37 tickets were originally scheduled to go on sale this Tuesday, but it was announced that the on-sale date was being moved because plans for the event were still being finalized.
Four matches have already been made official for WrestleMania 37. Roman Reigns will defend his Universal Championship against Edge, Sasha Banks will defend her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Bianca Belair, Bobby Lashley will defend his WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre, and Raw Tag Team Champions The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) will defend their titles against AJ Styles & Omos.
A week after announcing the on-sale date for next month’s WrestleMania 37, WWE confirmed on Raw that the date is being moved but didn’t say when that would be.
Tom Phillips said the initial on-sale date of this Tuesday was being moved as “plans for the two night event are still being finalized” and to “expect a new on-sale date within the next week,” supported by a tweet and media statement shortly thereafter that said the same exact thing.
It’s unknown what the reason for the move is.
WWE initially was planning for 30,000 fans for each night of this year’s two-night event on April 10th and 11th, but reports came out they want that number to be 45,000 per night instead.
WrestleMania 37 is set for Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, with both single-day and two-day combo tickets available via Ticketmaster. Tickets per day will range from $35 to $2500, not including fees. This will be WWE’s first event with ticketed fans since March of 2020.
A title change on tonight’s Raw led to a new match being made official for WrestleMania 37.
The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) won the Raw Tag Team titles by defeating The Hurt Business (Shelton Benjamin & Cedric Alexander) on Raw tonight. After the match, Kingston & Woods were confronted by AJ Styles & Omos. Styles & Omos challenged Kingston & Woods to a Raw Tag Team title match at WrestleMania 37. The match was later made official for WrestleMania.
This will be Omos’ first televised match in WWE. The 7-foot-3 Omos, whose real name is Jordan Omogbehin, signed with WWE in October 2018. He’s originally from Lagos, Nigeria and played college basketball at the University of South Florida and Morgan State University. He made his in-ring debut at an NXT house show in July 2019 and debuted on Raw as Styles’ bodyguard in October of last year.
Prior to losing the titles tonight, Benjamin & Alexander had been Raw Tag Team Champions since defeating Kingston & Woods at December’s TLC pay-per-view.
WrestleMania 37 is taking place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida over two nights on Saturday, April 10 and Sunday, April 11. Roman Reigns vs. Edge for the Universal Championship, Sasha Banks vs. Bianca Belair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship, and Bobby Lashley vs. Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship have also been announced for the event.
WrestleMania 37 will air live on Peacock in the United States. It will be live on the WWE Network everywhere else.
For the second straight year, Drew McIntyre will be challenging for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania.
It was announced on tonight’s episode of Raw that WWE Champion Bobby Lashley will defend his title against McIntyre at WrestleMania 37. The event is taking place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida over two nights on Saturday, April 10 and Sunday, April 11.
Lashley became WWE Champion by defeating The Miz in a lumberjack match on Raw two weeks ago. In storyline, Lashley got the title shot as part of a deal he made with The Miz.. Lashley helped Miz win the WWE Championship when he attacked McIntyre at last month’s Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. After McIntyre retained the WWE Championship in an Elimination Chamber match, he was attacked by Lashley. Miz then cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase to win the WWE Championship.
McIntyre defeated The Miz on Raw tonight. He sent a message to Lashley by using Lashley’s Hurt Lock to submit Miz.
McIntyre will face Sheamus at Fastlane this Sunday.
At WrestleMania 36 last year, McIntyre defeated Brock Lesnar in the main event of night two to win the WWE Championship. Last year’s WrestleMania was held at the WWE Performance Center with no fans in attendance. Dave Meltzer reported last week that WWE is hoping to have 45,000 fans in attendance each night at WrestleMania 37.
In addition to Lashley vs. McIntyre for the WWE Championship, two other title matches have already been made official for WrestleMania 37. Universal Champion Roman Reigns will defend his title against Edge, while Sasha Banks will defend her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Bianca Belair.
WWE is hoping to have 45,000 fans per night at this year’s two-night WrestleMania in Tampa, Florida.
Originally shooting for 30,000 per night, city officials told hotel officials in a meeting last week that WWE would like to see Raymond James Stadium at 75% capacity for April 10th and 11th. Capacity would have been 60,000 pre-pandemic.
It’s unknown whether that request has been approved. Florida governor Ron DeSantis lifted all COVID-19 restrictions last fall, so it would be up to the city (Tampa Sports Authority) to determine how many fans could be allowed in.
WWE has not announced any number publicly, instead saying a “limited” number of tickets will go on-sale this Tuesday with prices from $35 to $2500 per show.
“A Tampa WrestleMania was not a given to be a sellout as opposed to New York or Dallas which did sell out. They also could test it out by putting a smaller number on sale this week and judge from the response and then add tickets and whatever they feel they can sell becomes capacity. But with tickets going on sale so late in the game, there isn’t much time to go out and maybe put 25,000 or 30,000 seats on sale, and then judging by the demand for those tickets, then put another 15,000 to 20,000 more on sale a week later.”
If ever there was proof that the last second of a show can override almost everything that happened before, it was the AEW Revolution PPV on 3/7 from Daily’s Place in Jacksonville.
Everyone knew going in that a show built around an explosive barbed wire match in the main event was going to be judged on the explosions. It’s a match invented by FMW in Japan, popularized by the May 5, 1993 Atsushi Onita vs. Terry Funk match at Kawasaki Baseball Stadium before 32,000 fans (announced as 41,000 in case you read the inflated number elsewhere). It’s been copied multiple times in the U.S., in a number of independent promotions and twice (once in 1993 and again in 2000) by ECW. The end result was always the same. The fart in church ending when the last big explosion of pyro to climax the match lays an egg.
With history behind it, Kenny Omega came up with the idea more than a year ago, and Jon Moxley was picked as the opponent. The idea is that those matches have been successful in Japan based on explosions, but the body of work in the matches was rarely good. The idea going in was to have the greatest and most spectacular match of its kind, with both believing the other was the perfect opponent for that job.
WrestleMania 37 is taking place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida on Saturday, April 10 and Sunday, April 11. Tickets will be available via Ticketmaster, with single-day tickets and two-day combo tickets both available.
WWE noted that single-day WrestleMania 37 tickets will range from $35 to $2,500, with all tickets also subject to service charges and facility fees.
This will be the first WWE event with ticketed fans since March of last year. WWE hasn’t announced how many fans will be in attendance, but Dave Meltzer reported in January that the plan appeared to be to have 30,000 people in the building each night.
“WWE is coordinating with local partners and government officials regarding safety protocols for WrestleMania and will share details in the coming weeks. Information on additional WrestleMania Week events is forthcoming,” WWE wrote.
“Back In Business” is being used as the tagline for this year’s WrestleMania. WrestleMania 36 was originally supposed to take place at Raymond James Stadium last year, but the show was moved to the WWE Performance Center and changed to a two-night event due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
WWE has announced that WrestleMania 38 will be held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Sunday, April 3, 2022. WrestleMania 39 will take place at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California on Sunday, April 2, 2023.
It will officially be Sasha Banks vs. Bianca Belair at WrestleMania 37.
On tonight’s episode of SmackDown, Belair declared that she’ll be challenging for Banks’ SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 37. Belair got the title shot by winning last month’s women’s Royal Rumble match.
Before announcing her WrestleMania decision tonight, Belair was interrupted by Carmella’s sommelier Reginald. Reginald told Belair that she would leave WrestleMania as a loser if she chose to face Banks at WrestleMania. Banks then came to the ring and told Reginald not to speak for her.
Banks said that if Belair wants to make history and be the topic of conversation, she’ll face Banks at WrestleMania. Banks said Belair might call herself the EST of WWE, but Banks is the best. Banks said that makes Belair second best.’
Belair responded by saying she’ll make Banks eat her words on the grandest stage of them all. Belair said she’ll prove she’s the best by taking Banks’ title at WrestleMania 37. Belair told Banks that it’s on and then pointed to the WrestleMania sign.
Belair entered this year’s women’s Royal Rumble at number three and was in the match for nearly 57 minutes. She last eliminated Rhea Ripley to get the win.
Banks & Belair unsuccessfully challenged for Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler’s Women’s Tag Team titles at Elimination Chamber this past Sunday. Reginald, who is infatuated with Banks in storyline, tried to give Banks a bottle of champagne to use as a weapon during the match. Banks refused to use the champagne bottle but was distracted, which led to Jax pinning Banks.
WrestleMania 37 is a two-night event that’s taking place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida on Saturday, April 10 and Sunday, April 11. Men’s Royal Rumble winner Edge challenging for Roman Reigns’ Universal Championship has also been confirmed for the show.
By delivering a spear, men’s Royal Rumble winner Edge announced his WrestleMania 37 decision at tonight’s Elimination Chamber pay-per-view.
Roman Reigns defending his Universal Championship against Edge is set for one of the nights of WrestleMania 37. The event is taking place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida on Saturday, April 10 and Sunday, April 11.
After Reigns retained his Universal Championship against Daniel Bryan at Elimination Chamber, Edge hit the ring and dropped Reigns with a spear. Edge then pointed to the WrestleMania sign, making his WrestleMania decision official.
Bryan, Jey Uso, Cesaro, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and Baron Corbin were the wrestlers in SmackDown’s Elimination Chamber match tonight. Bryan eliminated Uso at the end of the match and then immediately had to challenge for Reigns’ Universal Championship. Bryan reversed a spear attempt into the Yes Lock after the bell rang, but Reigns got out of it, pummeled Bryan with strikes, and Bryan then passed out in a guillotine.
Edge had interacted with WWE Champion Drew McIntyre, NXT Champion Finn Balor, and Reigns in the days after his Royal Rumble win. Edge and Reigns also had an interaction on SmackDown this past Friday, with Edge telling Reigns that he needs Edge to choose him to be in the main event of WrestleMania 37. Reigns then laid out Edge with a spear at the end of the episode.
For the sixth straight year, Snickers will be the presenting sponsor of WrestleMania.
WWE and Wrigley announced today that they’ve renewed their long-standing partnership to make Snickers the presenting sponsor of WrestleMania 37. The event is taking place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida over two nights on Saturday, April 10 and Sunday, April 11.
The press release announcing the renewal of the partnership notes that, in a new aspect of the sponsorship, Snickers will be the presenting partner “of the WrestleMania Main Event Match, marking the first time the marquee match has ever been sponsored.” The announcement didn’t clarify whether that is for both nights of WrestleMania 37 or only one.
The agreement also includes “multiple pieces of custom video content featuring Superstars showcasing how ‘out-of-sortsness’ can be resolved with a satisfying Snickers. The spots will air in WWE’s flagship TV programs Monday Night Raw on USA Network and Friday Night SmackDown on FOX, as well as during WrestleMania on Peacock, NBCUniversal’s streaming service.”

WWE is coordinating with local partners and government officials regarding COVID-19 precautions and will announce ticket availability and safety protocols for WrestleMania 37 in the coming weeks. Information on additional WrestleMania Week events is forthcoming.
It appears that Edge will be challenging for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 37.
“Not sure when this will be officially announced, but Roman Reigns vs. Edge is the planned main event at WrestleMania,” Dave Meltzer reported in today’s Daily Update. “The Bianca Belair match isn’t 100 percent right now.”
Edge returned to the ring in Sunday’s men’s Royal Rumble match, entering at number one and wrestling for more than 58 minutes. He last eliminated Randy Orton to win the Rumble. Edge and Orton started the match as the first two entrants and Orton was taken out in an injury angle. After Edge eliminated Seth Rollins, Orton blindsided Edge with an RKO. Orton went to throw Edge out of the ring, but Edge reversed and threw Orton out.
This was the first time Edge has wrestled since tearing his triceps last June. It was also the second straight year that Edge returned at the Royal Rumble. Edge made his surprise return to the ring in last year’s Rumble, wrestling for the first time since being forced to retire in 2011.
Edge cut a promo on last week’s Raw and declared that he was entering the Royal Rumble. Edge said he needed to win the Rumble, go on to WrestleMania, and take back what he never lost when he had to vacate the World Championship in 2011.
SmackDown’s Reigns retained his Universal Championship against Kevin Owens in a Last Man Standing match at the Royal Rumble.
Belair won the women’s Royal Rumble match by last eliminating Rhea Ripley. Belair is part of the SmackDown roster. At the Royal Rumble, Sasha Banks retained her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Carmella.
WrestleMania 37 is a two-night event taking place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida on Saturday, April 10 and Sunday, April 11.
